because here's the thing here's the thing the question was not "would you be more surprised to run into a fairy or a walrus" the question was "would you be more surprised to find a fairy or a walrus AT YOUR DOOR" and while no, i do not believe in fairies and would be surprised to know they EXIST i would NOT be surprised to find one at my door. HOWEVER, if a WALRUS shows up at my door i have to contend with the fact that a walrus somehow made it to my apartment specifically and knocked on my door for god knows what reason. i would be more surprised to know that a fairy EXISTS, of course, but NOT that they're at my door, do you get me?

DCxDP AU where Dani fakes being an alien.
Dani's obsession with travel also left her with a desire to know more about the places she couldn't travel to, like Krypton and Mars. Considering the vast majority of both those populations are dead, it was easy enough for her to befriend some ghost aliens. From them she learns about their culture and language.
At some point one of her new friends jokes that her ghost powers kind of function like a mix of Kryptonian and Martian biology. She laughs. It is just a joke.
At least till she is in danger. The GIW finally found her. She is scared and desperate and tells a lie. Dani screams out, "Superman, if you can hear me, I am Kryptonian too and they are trying to capture me. Please help."
She doesn't actually expect this plan to work. It was a last ditch hail Mary. She figured she would (fully) die here, but even if he was on the other side of the earth he hears her and comes to her rescue.
But see, actions have consequences and now that she is safe she needs to keep the lie going. It is a good thing her alien ghost friends are willing to help her create a fabricated story about how a Martin and a Kryptonian managed to get to earth, have a child, and for some reason aren't around anymore.
It is not an ideal situation, but being an alien is legal while being a ghost isn't, so what's a girl to do? If there is one thing a child who travels the world alone knows how to do, it is lie and bullshit their way through any situation.
Meanwhile, Clark and J'onn are thrilled and fighting each other for custody.

Prompt 266
Back on my Danny & Ras frienemies/rivals/maybe-lovers-nobody-can-tell-their-signals-are-very-mixed train.
See, Danny has gone through time a lot. Often. It comes with being Clockwork’s charge-son-thing and honestly he finds it fun. And several times he’s used this time travelling to get some training in. Enter Ras, stage left, also a teen at the time and also learning swordsmanship from the same person.
And they… utterly despise each other. They would kill the other for an apple slice, if the other one would die! But also, only they can kill the other, as it is obviously their right!
And well, they keep running into each other. It has been a hundred years, surely the other would die by now? But of course their rival would live through utter spite. Probably to spite them specifically.
The amount of times they have ended up sparring- trying to kill each other or not- the moment they see the other is actually ridiculous. But time is also passing. And… Danny understands, not having another to talk about things people are forgetting, or have already forgotten.
How they ended up actually talking without a murder attempt was a long story that included a demon, a dragon, a pair of fae, some bandits, and a lot of alcohol, but it happened. And then it happens again. And again, and now it’s just kind of normal to share a drink after their spars, talking about things that no longer exist, and things they miss.
Sure Danny can go back in time again, but he knows better than to do it willy nilly. He’s matured, he’s been an adult for a hundred years now, he knows there’s consequences for messing with time, even with Clockwork’s blessings.
The first time they got married was technically for an undercover assassination. Well, Ras was there to assassinate someone, Danny was there to grab an artifact that should Not be in the realm of the living. And they got divorced after, it was fine.
They just, also got married again when they met a few years later, for another job. And… okay, so maybe they have gotten married over a dozen times now and only divorced like half of those times. Half of those were for the bit or while drunk!
And even if technically they’re married or shared a bed, it’s not like they're exclusive! As Ras’ daughters’ existences attest to (adopted in one case or not). They don’t exactly have a label for their relationship, despite others asking for one or trying to put a name to it themselves.
Now Danny knows Ras isn’t exactly a good dude, or at least on the side of ‘good’ as he’s a literal assassin. But he also knows that good? Bad? Rather relative. He had gotten labeled as a villain when he was just trying to help all that time ago after all, and really who was he to tell someone else how to live their life?
Which brings him to now, where he’s run into his old frienemy-rival and his youngest daughter. Who has a braindead teenager and a small toddler. Which is fine, really- but also, Talia dear, why are you using a brain dead teenager to guard your three year old son?
…
Okay, Talia dear, Ras (Derogatory), why are you using your brain dead son and grandson to guard your younger son and grandson? Do you not have the Pits, which you were soo proud about Ras? Yes, he will spar with you, but for Realms’ sake, heal, what’s his name? Ah yes, go heal Jason and he’ll actually stick around for a few years, deal? Good.

Signs from being younger that probably are signs of being trans:
Making a sock penis and wearing it in my room. Never admitting it, but wanting a penis.
Fantasizing that I was turned into a boy and choosing to stay that way.
Taking quizzes that claim to "guess your gender" and wanting to have the results say I was a boy.
This one makes me laugh, but pretending to be a boy when I would play on Club Penguin.
Really liking how I looked in our jazz band uniform which includes a men's dress shirt, dress pants, a tie, and a vest.
Signs in adulthood and right now that probably are signs of me being trans:
Buying a packer and really enjoying wearing it in public.
Loving the bulge my packer gives me and wanting to look at it all day long/wear it everyday.
Wanting a real penis.
I want a beard so bad.
Buying a binder and being frustrated that it didn't make me completely flat because I have a large chest. Kind of liking how it looked anyway when I was able to get over that and see that it did make my chest smaller.
Still fantasizing of being turned into a man and choosing to stay that way.
Going by he/him pronouns on here.
Changing my pronouns on Facebook to see it say "changed HIS profile picture" and seeing that I was listed as "brother" and "son" on my siblings and parents pages. (Changed it back out of fear of getting caught).
Changing my gender on Facebook to Male even though it's hidden.
Picturing myself in the future presenting as male with short hair, a beard, and having gotten top surgery.
I want to be a man.
AND YET I am still struggling with believing I am actually trans or that I should move forward with transitioning. There is so much that goes into this. Internalized transphobia. Inability to let go of my religion even if I don't necessarily believe because it's what I have known my whole life and all my friends are there. Religious trauma and being told that my being a woman is eternal and divine. Fear of disappointing my family and friends or confusing them/ruining our relationships. Messing with the status quo at almost 28 years old. Not being taken seriously. I probably should see a gender therapist.
I just really needed to get that all out. If anyone has any advice or ideas or maybe even just validation, I would really appreciate it.

when the batboys get ahold of new single-player video game, there's only one console in wayne mansion (for literally no reason. there should be more), so they all have the unspoken agreement to huddle around a tv in someone's room and watch as one person plays it through.
you'd expect them to get annoyed at each other, not being able to agree on the "choose your own" options of the game, or getting frustrated with the person playing's incompetence at certain parts. but they're all surprisingly content with each other when they're playing.
tim's usually the one to play the game, because he's remarkably good, and is the most open to suggestions from others (unlike jason + the great controller break of the century). dick will watch pretty passively, and explain to damian the parts he doesn't quite understand the morals of, sometimes he takes over when no one else can pass a level. damian will join in watching, and is more enthusiastic than usual when it's a game he's been waiting to see. sometimes if he isn't particularly interested he ends up falling asleep. jason gets really into it, and him and tim usually take turns playing different parts of the game, it's the best they get along pretty much ever. before they've even sat down and started the game, jason seems to already know every fun fact and easter egg about it, and will share them throughout the gameplay.
bruce and alfred are more than happy to let the boys stay up later than usual or skip out on a chore they were supposed to do, when they're all playing a game together. it's the most normal they ever get. bruce only interferes if he walks past and sees damian asleep, to which he'll take him away and carry him to bed.
