I’ve been called the F slur, a “gentard”, and had a few other transphobic and homophobic comments on this site. Even had someone tell me “you’re not getting laid anyway” in response to a post about reproductive rights in America when I’m literally British, asexual, and in a sapphic relationship. And every time I’ve laughed, screenshotted them and sent them to my friends with ratings and reviews and then continued with my life

I’ve also had people comment insinuating I don’t know what I’m talking about when it comes to ace attorney or any of my other special interests and I’ve raged for hours to my friends and family, thinking about it for the rest of the day

All that to say, being an incel doesn’t work on me. Instead, hit me where it hurts. Do better. I believe in you❤️

pan angled aroace here! i have absolutely no problem with who you ship, as long as you're being respectful of other communities and the people you're interacting with. but i know a lot of people find that approach upsetting because they feel invalidated when somebody disregards a characters sexuality, and i've definitely been there. it's totally understandable how somebody can find my approach queer-phobic, and it's completely valid to be distressed when a character is depicted in a relationship with another character that seems to go against their sexuality. for example, an aromantic character being shipped with an alloromantic character may seem like a certain identity is getting even less representation and people are trying to find exceptions for a sexuality. it's also important to remember that aromantism and asexuality are a spectrum, and many people still feel some form or amount of romantic and/or sexual attraction as an aromantic and/or asexual. also, characters can be shipped as a queer platonic relationship (qpr) which i feel better represents their identities. in the case of this poll, i also think it's okay to headcanon a character with a canon sexuality as another sexuality. so for example, maybe a character has been canonized as gay. but in this scenario, you headcanon them as bisexual. so in your imagination with your imaginary headcanon, you ship them with a woman. i think that's okay. for me, fandom spaces are just about imagination and i'm not going to stifle someone's creativity. everyone's different though, which is why i'm doing this poll!

Hi I'm unwell. Another long post probably, thank you @es46 for giving me an idea !! click readmore for accidental aroace rants plus some silly shenanigans (the aroace rants happened on accident my bad)

So I one million percent agree that Ingo and Emmet would probably clock Elesas crush right away, even if they are aroace themselves, they see Elesa as a sister basically and know how she is (useless lesbian (she is bisexual w/ a woman leaning preference)) I definitely think of them as a trio who grew up together so they probably watched her go through her awkward teen years getting crushes on every pretty woman who was nice to her, but Skyla is a different situation obviously so they mutually agree to come at it from a different angle this time, much to Elesas dismay

I think Emmet would be super direct about it but think he's being slick because he isn't SAYING what he really means, right? But saying "I am asking for no reason in particular if you are single and also into women :>" and then dropping a "thank you for answering my random question that has no ulterior motive!" and Skyla would be like . Uh huh. Okay . (I don't know her personality SUPER well but I know she and the twins have slight beef over the more superior form of transportation planes v trains)

Emmet would also definitely try to be a "just go for it why are you so scared??" kinda guy because his concept of romance is heavily based on how he's seen it in media, but he hates watching it so it's really only the stuff he can't avoid? So hes like "obviously most relationship drama comes from not confessing so just get that part over with before it causes an issue" and doesn't ENTIRELY understand the nuance of being scared of rejection even if the other person seems interested (as well as adding on the sapphic problem of "is she flirting or just Really Friendly?")

I think Ingo is a little (lot) more empathetic than Emmet, not on purpose I just think Emmet genuinely lacks empathy and forgets to make up for it with sympathy at times, Elesa doesn't take it personally, but Ingo is absolutely a little more in tune to a social situation being stressful

Ingo, though, is also painfully aroace and his concept of love and romance is less whst you see in (straight) media and moreso in how he's defined it personally as somebody whose never felt it . He imagines it feels different from how he cares about Elesa, but she has to explain it's not that easy to really differentiate, because to love somebody you also usually love them a lot platonically as well as romantically. And that would absolutely perplex him just a smidge, because he sees love as this unreachable thing for him that's so distinct from everything else when it's really not. People just hype it up so much because of how it feels in the moment, but in reality it's actually rather difficult to define and Ingo thrives off precise definition.

He would encourage her to go for it, maybe a bit too obviously at times (no Ingo, deciding to loudly exclaim that you and your brother have somewhere to be, conveniently leaving Elesa alone with Skyla is not slick as you think it is!)

Ingo and Emmet would also absolutely try to set aside whatever feelings they have on Skyla and fully support Elesa in her relationship until the 4 actually managed to start getting along naturally, which happens eventually, it just takes time because the twins are very stubborn

It would absolutely lead to scenarios though where the twins are just a bit too pushy out of love and Elesa would probably have to tell them to back off, because romance is finicky and you have to let it happen naturally or else things get janky. I don't think they would fully get it until put into a train metaphor though

"If you try and run a train before the tracks fully built, or the engine is installed properly, even if it goes somewhere for a little while it likely won't reach it's destination" and they both go ohhhh.

Honestly I think that metaphor Ingo would come up with on the spot in an attempt to relate or process what Elesa is trying to explain, and then once they hear it everything clicks much better and they back off from trying to "speed things up", though in true assholeish brother-y nature, they have to bully her juuuust a little bit (Emmet going "WOW ELESA your face sure is red, is it too hot in here? Maybe you and Skyla should step outside for some fresh air :>" and Elesa making a strangling motion with her hands while Ingo is fighting off a laugh.

I do think that it would earn some laughs once Skyla and Elesa are actually together, and Skyla would probably have to drop the fact that she was painfully aware of the brothers attempts to push them together, much to Elesas horror

*cackles evilly* I am one of those people who enjoy many ships, regardless of who or how many are in it. Despite being aroace, shipping is one of my favorite things to do in fandom, though it's not the only thing I do. Off the top of my head:

Crooler X Spinlyn: I love some toxic sapphics but putting these two together somehow evens out to a perfectly healthy relationship that's detrimental to anyone else. I think this may actually be my OTP. I even call their pairing "MindWeb".

Laval X Li'ella X Cragger: Look. We get the best of every world here. Li'ella gets two boyfriends. Laval and Cragger get to work on their mutual tension. Crominus gets to seethe about his son dating not one, but TWO Lions. Everyone except Crominus wins, especially love.

Lagravis X Tormak: ...Honestly this one is just too fucking funny to me so I ship it just to laugh.

Razar X Eris X Rogon: Again, a very good trio. Rogon can even carry the other two around, one in each arm.

Li'ella X Eris: Wholesome sapphics to make up for the toxic ones above. A friend of mine on Discord ships them and I've been pondering writing for them as a treat for him. Sometimes you need to give your token cishet friend a little treat every once in a while.

Scorm X ...literally anyone at this point: Scorm is just a guy with so many fucking issues and it's very funny to me to see how he handles those issues when you add a romantic or, more commonly for Scorm, sexual angle to it. Scorm is Chima's bicycle and I know this in my heart. And I'm the Mayor of Scorpions so I'm obviously correct. Rinona X Mottrot: Look. Okay. This is entirely and only based on my Tales of Chima soulmate AU because I forced the Mammoths and Scorpions to go live with the Rhinos, but these two could get along! They both would appreciate having someone to talk to who really gets them!

Gorzan X Worriz: Gorzan could teach Worriz how to chill out, and Worriz could handle beating the shit out of anyone who gave Gorzan trouble. Also, can you imagine how good scritchies behind the ear from a Gorilla feels? Maybe it's just the werewolf otherkin in me, but I'd love to get ear scritchies from Gorzan.

I probably have, like, seven dozen more because I love examining how character relationships change when you introduce romantic and/or sexual elements to their dynamics. And because it's fiction, no actual people are getting hurt when I examine the more toxic ones! It's great!

Huh. Seeing bigoted tourists complain about rouge's boobs and general inclusive stuff in sonadow Gens is so bizarre. Unwelcome too ofc but so bizarre. Like a solid 80% of the fandom that actually cared for the story were glad that eggman asked sage for her pronouns and that tangle, a character who is highly recognized to be sapphic-coded and is only held back by sega themselves, was referenced in-game. We've built a solid rep as an, admittedly annoying at times but not overall bigoted fandom.

Hell, one of youtube's bigger sonictubers, Chaomix, who was featured in sega's youtube latest video as part of asking how to describe Shadow in one word, had talked about some of the more known lgbt+ ships in Sonic and how Sonic himself has a good driving history for being a possible canon aroace character. I just think it's so damn bizarre and comedic in a way that to choose Sonic the Hedgehog now of all times to try and act all annoying as shit for just cause it had a game that's actually scored highly among gaming sites and the like, even tho we've built a solidly inclusive place.

That's not mentioning how big Sonadow is. Phew. That, that is literally the 2nd in running biggest ship now. No doubt.

it's funny too because for more than a decade sonic was like the punching bag fandom right, like we were getting jumped from every angle due to the rancid decisions being taken in regards to the franchise. but now because the franchise found its groove again and is delivering consistently great content one after the other everyone is more resilient now and we're just kicking bad faith actors to the curb lol
