" Men in Gaza do cry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they lose their homes that they spend their
whole lives building, they cry
When they see their dreams and hopes getting destroyed, they cry.
When they realise how scary and uncertain their future is, they cry.
And because they are human beings, full of feelings and emotions, they cry."
This is an excerpt from a 35-year-old Palestinian's account of life in Gaza under siege.
Ziad has been writing for the Guardian about the realities of the Israeli bombardment, as he, his sister and their pets, flee their home in Gaza City in the hope of survival.

“This is where you live?”
Jason drops the duffle bag on the counter, “Yeah. It’s no manor, kid. I told you.”
He’s not self conscious. He’s not. This apartment is fuckin’ nice ok? He spent a lot of money on decor and proper kitchenware and furniture and shit.
But Jason also knows that, objectively speaking, it doesn’t hold a candle to Wayne manor and its fifty-something bedrooms. That place is basically its own country.
Bruce nods.
“I like it,” he says solemnly, walking over towards the window to peek through the blinds. The view from up here isn’t exactly panorama level but the building is one of the tallest in Crime Alley and Jason’s apartment is on the top floor, so it does provide a pretty good view of a good portion of the Alley. “It doesn’t feel as empty.”
Jason pauses where he’s resetting the traps and alarms by the door, glancing over his shoulder to where Bruce is starting to tentatively explore the living space and is struck by how violently out of place the boy looks with his rigid posture and elegantly curved eyebrows. Even the plain hoodie, faded hand-me-down jeans and ridiculous wool cap aren’t enough to hide how utterly not Crime Alley born-and-bred he is. Everything about Bruce is basically screaming rich-Bristol-trust-fund-kid.
Which, yeah. Checks out.
Jason clears his throat and clicks the security on, waiting for the small light at the side to switch from green to red.
“Your room’s the one down the hall to the left. Right one is mine. Door at the end of the hall is the bathroom.”
Bruce hikes his backpack up higher on his shoulder, eyes eerily vacant as always, but Jason wants to think that there’s a sliver of curiosity behind that steely gaze anyways as he inclines his head and makes his way down the hall.
As soon as the kid vanishes around the corner Jason allows himself a moment to exhale and run a hand down his face tiredly.
Jesus fucking Christ.
What was he thinking.
How the fuck is he supposed to raise a tiny Bruce Wayne with his older furry counterpart running around Gotham at night hunting criminals? Criminals like Jason?
Nothing. He was thinking nothing. And it’s about to bite him in the ass.
No way can he build a criminal empire and take over the drugs and weapons trade with a traumatized nine year old dependent on him.
God dammit.

if we are talking about the lost dream lover/daisy scenes from act 1 then we should talk about why those scenes were so good and why the loss of that storyline is so disappointing. because it's not just "oh those scenes looked better or whatever" it was a completely different character and storyline.
even though the companions pushed back way more and the whole narrative was telling you to resist the dream lover, it was somehow far more tempting. you were constantly tempted in dialogues to use your powers and if you did, you slowly started to lose yourself, the narrator said you could feel something slipping away, something you will never get back. You were giving yourself over to the fantasy, a mindflayer illusion
the game asked you during character creation "who do you dream of at night?" obviously meaning "what are you attracted to?" rather than just "you need a guardian. choose one." there is already a different implication there. I wonder how people interpret "guardian" if they don't know about the original dream lover. they might not even create someone they find tempting. a guardian sounds more like a mentor figure, rather than your ideal fantasy partner.
During early access the dream lover not only offered us power, they also showed us a tempting future where we are powerful and important and beloved and we are ruling the world. such universal temptations and desires. and we were resting on a peaceful field with the person of our dreams. it was peace in the dream world vs the real life struggle.
In the end it seemed obvious where this was leading... if you use the tadpole too much, you would have turned into a mindflayer. and whatever is left of your individuality and consciousness would have stayed in that fantasy world with your perfect fantasy partner. the mindflayer illusion forever trapped you. the song "Down by the River" was written about this fantasy dream lover. and what a banger and creative storyline this could have been. what a tragic ending! to just give up, lose yourself in the fantasy, the easy way out. choose this beautiful fantasy over the imperfect real world. and choose your perfect imaginary partner over the flawed real people, your companions. truly I mourn what an incredible storyline this could have been. It would have resonated with basically everyone.
and you would have been constantly tempted. to avoid this fate you would need to struggle constantly while the easy fantasy is dangling in front of your face with a zero difficulty ability check.
turning into a mindflayer wouldn't have been something you have the option to choose. and you can get cured no matter how much you indulged in the tadpole powers. lmao I kinda hate that there is no consequence for any of that now

Headcanon: what if Nightmare secretly had the paper of his AU from the doodle sphere in his book before he ate the apple in dreamtale?
Also second Head-canon, what if the other Nightmare had that same book that helped him gaining knowledge of other universes by taking their papers away?
i really really really like this idea.
Tumblr media
.........so much so that i doodled a multiverse guardian nightmare.
this was going to be a tiny ask post but i went.......out of hand. thank you so much anon, you genuinely fueled something that SPIRALED OUT OF CONTROL
i LOOOOOVE this idea.
i like to imagine that he has a book that he stores the pages in.
and upon the discovery of the multiverse pages, he either asks ink to store them in his book for him instead of being scattered around, or..........
Tumblr media
this is his multiverse now.
alternatively: i think that nightmare running off into the multiverse in curiosity and adventure because of this will cause him to leave dream behind and fend for the tree by himself,
Tumblr media
making a whole new variant of a swapped dreamtale.
Tumblr media
teehee anyway here's the designs side by side :3

One thing I really appreciated in Dungeons and Dragons: Honor among Thieves was that the friendship between Holga and Edgin remained just that, a friendship. Both of them were shown to at least have a romantic interest in the opposite sex even if they aren’t heterosexual, and they care for Kira together, but after one mention of them being together that they both emphatically reject it’s never brought up again. They’re just friends and family to each other without having to be in a romantic/sexual relationship.
That is so rare in big name movies these days and so refreshing to see that just because a man and a woman share a scene they don’t have to fucking fall in love. More of this

Space-Time apprentice
After many conversations with Clockwork, Danny decided to be his apprentice, partly because Clocky was the closest thing he had to a grandfather, and partly because he really wanted to travel back to the time of the dinosaurs.
Clockwork was well aware of that fact, which is the reason he made his lessons as difficult and cryptic as possible. And although it frustrated him, in the end Danny succeeded. Due to his core, at the end of the lessons he ended up becoming the "Master of Space", which was not the same as Clockwork but quite similar.
He didn't realize that being a "master" of literally anything was lonely. They also didn't inform him that being a halfa would give him immortality, Danny sighed sadly, at least Clocky kept him company.
Perhaps the reason for his future actions was due to that feeling of loneliness; After watching a new dimension being created, both Clockwork and Danny witnessed a baby wizard being born in Egypt on that dimension, he had immense potential (Danny found it curious that many events tended to repeat themselves as a constant in the progress of different dimensions, like the egypt creation for example)
Since he had never witnessed anything like this before and it reminded him a bit of Tucker, the Master of Space went to congratulate the little wizard. But when he said goodbye, he followed him! Like a duckling. Danny saw this and plead his mentor for help, Clockwork just shook his head, Nabu would be a future lord of order, but right now he was just a curious and lonely kid (and Danny got a headache thinking about the intricacies of the dimension).
Resigned, Danny stayed in Egypt for a couple of hundred years, he began to teach Nabu space magic and other arts he had learned over the years; Clockwork seeing that his apprentice had taken his own ward, decided to taught Nabu a bit about future vision, a useful gift for the boy. When Nabu eventually disappeared, they both decided to leave without leaving a trace behind, it was like they never existed, even if the people remembered them.
Danny just didn't expect his little Nabu to have turned into a ¿spirit? trapped in a helmet and other artifacts thousands of years later, of course he'd made some dubious decisions but thats was a little cruel for a punishment, even if he was not sure if Nabu did that to himself; The halfa felt lost, there was no manual of "I met my pupil after a long time and he is trapping people with his helmet and other objects to possess them"!? He swears, he checked on Ghostwriter library!
For their part, the Justice League was confused when the respectable and usually unflappable Dr. Fate began to jump on his heels impatiently as he looked out of the Watchtower, waiting for something, or rather someone.

Bernie Sanders has hit back fiercely at Benjamin Netanyahu over the Israeli prime minister’s claim that US universities were being overrun by antisemitism on a scale comparable to the rise of Nazism in Germany.
In a video posted on X, the progressive senator from Vermont – who is Jewish – accused Netanyahu of “insult[ing] the intelligence of the American people” by using antisemitism to distract attention from the policies of his “extremist and racist government” in the military offensive in Gaza.
Tumblr media
“No Mr Netanyahu, it is not antisemitic or pro-Hamas to point out that, in a little over six months, your extremist government has killed over 34,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 78,000, 70% of whom are women and children,” Sanders said.
The two-and-a-half minute video listed a catalogue of further consequences of the war in the Palestinian coastal territory, including the destruction of infrastructure, hospitals, universities and schools, along with the killing of more than 400 health workers.
Sanders, who sponsored an unsuccessful Senate bill in January to make US aid to Israel conditional on its observance of human rights and international law, said Netanyahu’s government had unreasonably blocked humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, causing “thousands of children [to] face malnutrition and famine”.
In a blistering conclusion, he said: “Mr Netanyahu, antisemitism is a vile and disgusting form of bigotry that has done unspeakable harm to many millions of people. But please, do not insult the intelligence of the American people by attempting to distract us from the immoral and illegal policies of your extremist and racist government. … It is not antisemitic to hold you accountable for your actions.”
Sanders’ comments were a riposte to a video posted on social media by Netanyahu in which he waded in to protests sweeping American university campuses and claimed not enough was being done to combat a “horrific” rise in antisemitism.
Tumblr media
“Antisemitic mobs have taken over leading universities,” Netanyahu said. “They call for the annihilation of Israel. They attack Jewish students. They attack Jewish faculty. This is reminiscent of what happened in German universities in the 1930s. It has to be stopped. It has to be condemned and condemned unequivocally, but that’s not what happened. The response of several university presidents was shameful. Now fortunately, state, federal and local officials, many of them, have responded differently. But there has to be more.”
Netanyahu’s comments came against the backdrop of police deployments to break up pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University and numerous other US campuses. In some universities, faculty members have been arrested, including the chair of the philosophy department and a professor of English and Indigenous studies at Emory University in Atlanta.
Jewish students have reported feeling threatened by the protests and heated atmosphere that followed Hamas’s attack on Israel on 7 October, resulting in the deaths of about 1,200 Israelis and the kidnapping of more than 200 others.
Videos posted on social media have depicted anti-Israel protesters shouting “go back to Poland” and “go back to Belarus”, apparently at Jewish students. A congressional hearing earlier in April into a reported upsurge of antisemitism at Columbia heard allegations that Jewish students had been subjected to taunts of “F the Jews”.
Last October’s attack triggered an overwhelming and continuing Israeli military response that has so far killed more than 34,000 Palestinians – according to the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza – and led to a burgeoning humanitarian disaster, accompanied by accusations that Israel is committing “genocide”.
In his video, Netanyahu said Israel was being “falsely accused” of genocide and called it part of an “antisemitic surge”.
“Israel tries to defend itself against genocidal terrorists who hide behind civilians,” he said. “Yet it is Israel that is falsely accused of genocide. Israel that is falsely accused of starvation and sundry war crimes. It’s all one big libel. But that’s not new. We’ve seen in history that antisemitic attacks were always preceded by vilification and slander.”
The Joe Biden White House, while resisting pressure to condition or limit weapon supplies to Israel, has voiced frustration over its resistance to allowing more humanitarian aid freely into Gaza and roundly criticised the recent strikes that killed seven workers from celebrity chef Jose Andres’s World Central Kitchen charity.
Protests on campuses across the US continued on Saturday, with some protesting student bodies and universities locked in a standoff that saw demonstrators vowing to keep their movements going at the same time as college authorities moved to close down the encampments.
Police in riot gear cleared protest tents on the campus of Northeastern University in Boston, while students shouted and jeered at them, the Associated Press reported. The university said the protest had been “infiltrated by professional organisers” with no connection to the institution, while some demonstrators had used antisemitic slurs.
The picture of campus antisemitism run amok was lent further credence by Lawrence Summers, a former Harvard president and ex-US treasury secretary, who accused authorities at his former university of failing to act decisively against protesters occupying Harvard Yard.
“This is the predictable culmination of the Harvard Corporation’s failure to effectively address issues of prejudice and breakdowns of order on our campus,” he posted on X. “There can be no question that Harvard is practicing an ongoing double standard on discrimination between racism, misogyny and antisemitism.”
Tumblr media
His comments provoked a sharp response from critics of Israel. “Your efforts to portray student demonstrators challenging Israel’s genocidal actions as ‘antisemitic’ are cheap & disingenuous,” wrote Sarah Leah Whitson, executive director of Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN). “These students should be commended for their courage & compassion, risking suspension & smears (like yours), to fight the most heinous crimes underway in Gaza.”
