Just readed your prompt, when reader suddenly passes out with Vil, Jamil, Floyd and Rook. I was wondering, if you could write something similar for Malleus, Lilia and maybe the teachers Trein and Crewel?

Part One Part Three

A/N: I've said this in my pin post, but I age up characters to actual college age, because I am in college, and didn't realize until a few months in the characters were not. Everyone here is. 18+ If it makes you feel more comfortable, imagine this as a grad school situation.

He's been pouting a lot lately. Which for a normal person wouldn't be a problem, but Mal's pouting usually meant that the weather was bad as well. He was pouty, because whenever you had time in your incredibly busy schedule to see him, you still had to be working on your homework. With everything Crowley had you do for the school, you had to share your "dragon time" with your "homework time". But your boyfriend looked very cute pouty, so part of you wasn't too upset about it.

Until the day you were so busy with something that you hadn't eaten or slept in over 24 hours and just…collapsed during dragon/homework time.

Malleus immediately panics. He assumes you have had a heart attack and died (Mal…college students are unlikely to have heart attacks)  Once he finds a pulse, and sees your breathing, he scoops you up and teleports to Lilia faster than he has ever teleported.

He's sobbing as he answers Lilia's questions, not entirely certain that this wasn't something he did. Lilia easily is able to figure out what has happened, and goes to make you some soup for when you wake up. Malleus is too relieved to think about the fact that while Lilia's soup will have loads of protein, it might send you into shock. In the meantime, he puts a cool cloth on your forehead, and caresses your cheek.

After you wake up and barely survive the soup Malleus spoon feeds you he tucks you into his massive comfy bed (you can't tell me he doesn't have the fluffiest comforters) and then…vanishes.

From here on out, everytime you get a task from Crowley, it's already finished by the time you get around to it. It's weird, but it means you have time to keep homework separate from "dragon time". Which makes a certain fae very happy.

Lilia has spent years learning how to care for humans, especially since most of them *cough* Silver *cough cough* Y/N are not good at caring for themselves.  While his recipes are terrible, he is right in some ways about making sure to get all your nutrients. While it can feel a little patronizing sometimes, he is right that you need sleep. While he is a little unorthodox in how he has fun, he's right that you need to have leisure time and do things you enjoy.

What you don't know is that behind the scenes Lilia has already been having regular arguments with a certain Crow about your workload. When two fae fight, it's never good, but you don't have to worry about what's going on.

Azul and the tweels get called back home out of nowhere, and now you're in charge of all the paperwork that he is usually in charge of handling, both for the lounge and for the other Housewarden's. Lilia sees less and less of his sweet human, and he's suspicious part of it is because you are avoiding him, knowing full well he would make you take a break.

He has to admit, your avoiding skills are actually pretty good. So he's not actually there when you collapse. And he's furious. Especially when he finds out that Crowley also decided to add his own paperwork to your ever growing pile. He only knows you collapsed when he hears some randos gossiping about how "the prefect collapsed running laps today, and the idiot duo had to walk them to the infirmary." He's immediately flying to the infirmary, powered by his pure rage.

He knows it's not your fault, especially since you have nothing to your name in this world, so it's easy to manipulate you into this position. So he does his best not to take his anger out on you as he watches you sip apple juice that the nurse gave you, while you do your best to keep your eyes open. Once he is certain that the nurse has things under control, he kisses your forehead, and asks you if you want him to bring you anything.

While he's out getting you a treat, he makes a stop at a certain Crow's office. From here on out you don't see a lot of him. You are a little worried that Lilia may have killed him, but everytime you ask him, he giggles and messes up your hair, before telling you how silly that is.

He's harder on you than he is on most of his students, partially so that no one can claim favoritism, partially because you are just so far behind in history (having it not be your history) that he has to give you extra work and lessons to catch you up. But as a trade off, he tries to be a step ahead of Crowley whenever he can. There's little that happens in the school that he's unaware of, so he's usually able to protect you from his foolish boss.

Until you get sent to the training camp with the sports clubs to assist Vargas. He's furious about this last minute decision, that Crowley conveniently forgot to tell him about, and he's even more angry when he later finds out that you were "kidnapped" and then immediately had to fight a creature in the mines. 

Naturally, your mental health is not so great after the trip. He's starting to see it on your face when you both hang out, and even if he didn't, your work for his class is deteriorating, if you even turn it in at all. 

Then you break down one day when he asks you about it. He can't understand a word you're saying as you sob and yell and shake. But he's pretty sure he has the idea. You've been pushed too far. He sends Lucius to fetch a nurse or counselor , or heck he's sure even Sam would have something to help you relax enough to just breathe. In the meantime, he wraps his arms around you and tries to walk you through breathing exercises, while whispering some praises to you that you can't comprehend in this state, but appreciate all the same.

After someone gives you a potion that helps you relax a little, he leaves you to rest on his office couch with Lucius in charge, and he holds a meeting with the rest of that staff about what's not appropriate to put people through. (Essentially it's Crewel and Trein yelling at Vargas and Crowley about trauma and what their job is supposed to be) 

This never happens again. You continue to have extra work from Trein, but he always ensures he makes time to help you, or give you a soothing tea if he thinks you're starting to drop back into the bad mental state. If you do, he holds you close, and says nothing, while allowing you to spill whatever is plaguing you. 

Prior to him dating you, you had denied his request many times to financially sponsor you. Now that you were together, it was harder to come up with an excuse for him not to. So he'd purchased Ramshackle and renovated it. He'd taken up the expenses for your schooling and food (after much argument  he'd also taken up Grim's) and after several discussions about the future of your relationship, he'd begun helping you through the process of becoming a citizen in a world that had no proof of your existence (a pain and a half, but there was nothing he wouldn't do for his beloved pup). In doing all this, he'd made it very clear to the Headmage that he had no hold over you, and therefore couldn't coerce you into anything.

Divus knew he was a fool for leaving you alone for a week. He had assumed that Crowley had nothing on you anymore, and that he could go help a smaller fashion designer that showed a lot of promise get their career off the ground. At first he was only going to be gone for a week, but it quickly turned into two, then three. He should have recognized the tension in your voice when you'd asked him over the phone when he thought he'd be back. 

When he finally returned, he thought he'd surprise you by showing up where he knew you'd be hanging out with your friends. He'd bought a ring for you that he was particularly pleased with, and he wanted you to have it as soon as possible. His plan was dashed as he watched you collapse into Howl, who immediately started to panic.

With a clear voice Divus took over the scene, picking you up and carrying you to his office where he had all manner of potions. As he pressed one to your lips, he noticed a cast on your arm. He'd ask about it later. 

When you woke up, you wrapped your arms around him, and whispered how much you missed him. He asked what happened, and you tell him how you broke your arm in yet another overblot incudent, and had been working like crazy for Crowley to pay off the medical expenses. 

You've never been scared of your lover. But his eyes were practically glowing with rage, and now you were starting to wonder if you should be scared. Divus does not accept cruelty to animals or humans. And, he keeps his receipts. It's not long before there's a pretty hefty case and Dire is removed as headmage for coercion and endangerment. After that, there aren't any more overblot incidents and the students seem more mentally healthy. How about that?

He decides to wait to give you the ring until you're fully recovered after everything. But he's certain when he asks you the question that comes with it, you'll have an answer he likes. Especially when you nuzzle into him so sweetly while you nap in his office.

Hi!! Quick question, out of pure curiosity... Are there literally only three teachers in NRC???

I certainly hope not 😭

NRC has a student population of ~800, and judging by the homeroom class sizes (20-30ish?) and numbers (A through E), there has to be more than just Crewel for sciences, Trein for humanities, and Vargas for physical education. If it’s just those 3, that means they each take on 266 or 267 students at one time, and while that may work for very general introductory classes for freshmen, it’s not as feasible for highly specialized upperclassmen courses. Those 3 may just be the “leaders” of their respective departments, sort of like department chairs at colleges.

There’s so many elective classes and homerooms with instructors that are unaccounted for… (Like, Crewel teaches Advanced Poison Making, but who here is teaching Music, Lucius?!) It’s just not logistically possible; there have to be supervising homeroom teachers for the different grade levels and classes because Crewel can’t be ALL of the homeroom teachers in multiple rooms at once.

We do know that a team of ghost chefs teach the Master Chef course, so maybe it’s possible that ghosts help fill in for other teaching positions?? Ghosts also help out with other jobs around campus, such as being delivery people and handing out Vargas Badges during the boys’ training camp. Alternatively, it’s probably just a game limitation. It would be too taxing for the devs to make and implement a number of staff characters that is proportional to how many students NRC actually has so they have to default to reusing the ones that look unique.

I find it odd that we don’t have generic mob teachers or ever hear dialogue from someone labeled a “NRC teacher” though 💦 so maybe it really is ghosts doing everything else… It keeps Crowley’s costs low since ghosts don’t need things like food 😭

Summary of random facts about Merman because I'm bore (probably will update with time)

We talk about this in a discord server and I just want to leave it here in case I forget

Not only they learn how to walk with legs, but also how to swim in human form (Stitch Event)

It takes them time get used to breathe air properly, walking their first steps feel heavy and painful and some of them still feel uncomfortable in clothes (Floyd's Beans Camo story / Jade's School Uniform voice lines)

The black carriage that picks them up to go to NRC is an amphibious magic coach (Floyd's Ceremonial Robes voice line)

Merfolks and Humans are aware of each other but is extremely rare to encounter an actual merman on land (Magicam Monsters event)

They aren't afraid of each other anymore, since Ariel married Erik merfolks commonly come and go from land to sea(Some adults even own some stores on the shores) (Floyd's Beach Wear story)

The institution or land boot camp that train merfolks to became humans was founded canonically by Ariel. They need at least one month there to get used to their new body and how to eat our food correctly. Deep under water they only eat raw meat (Floyd's Beans Camo story / Jade's School Uniform story)

In there also teach them about the fauna on land by taking them to the zoo (Floyd Platinum Jacket story)

Merfolks also have passports once they live in human society (Floyd Platinum Jacket story)

They can turn into their true form willingly (Book 3 / Book 4 / Azul's Ceremonial Robes story / Vargas Camp event / Magicam Monsters event)

However they drink potions to keep their human form. Those are really expensive and if they forget to drink it in time they turn back into merman really slowly (Book 6 Riddle and Azul's tower)

The potion itself is paid by the school and currently they drink an experimental version that allows them to keep their human form for a week or two instead of a couple of days. And it taste awful (Book 6 Riddle and Azul's tower)

None of them have good eyesight: Azul mainly use only one par of glasses because it helps with the ''Business Style'' he's aiming for, and even if he can see pretty well without them the lenses are prescript just as his lab glasses (Trey's Halloween Dress story / Azul's Lab Coat voice lines) Jade roam around the school at night because he feel at ease in the dark (Ruggie's School Uniform story) Floyd is always amused of bright colored things because they looked really dark under the sea (Floyd's lab coat story)

Their skin in human form is really smooth. That's because they are cover by slime in their true form that keep their skin moist and soft (Azul's Ceremonial Robes story)

Octopuses are a pretty exotic race even between merfolks, they are way bigger that the common merman. They are slow, so they are usually targeted by predators but they also are brutally strong and are able to manipulate all their limbs freely (Book 3 / Book 4 / Book 6 / Happy Beans event / Vargas Camp / Azul's Beach Wear voice lines)

Halloween under water have very ominous and respectful traditions, way opposite that Halloween on land. There's haunted ships with ghost that lost their lives drowned, so they play music to calm their sorrows and loneliness. There's many pirate ghosts wandering on rotten ships that could actually harm young merfolks if they are not careful enough (Jade's Halloween Dress story / Floyd's Halloween Dress story)

The Coral Sea is a really small community and merfolks don't hesitate to eat each other in order to survive (Many hints said by the octatrio to mention here. And yes, Floyd WILL eat any student if he have to (Azul's Beach Wear voice lines))

They live under a Monarchy and the current prince is called Rielle. Is implied that the prince assist in the same elementary school that Azul, Jade and Floyd (Book 3) **( The 14 one doesn't mention all the times the tweels bully Azul by calling him slow because I will lost count) ______________ That's it for now, I will add more eventually but this ones are the ones I can remember now, feel free to tell me what did I miss~

Jade and Floyd Info Compilation part 34: Mostro Lounge, Jamil, Jack

Both Jade and Floyd work at Mostro Lounge, with the two of them running it by themselves during Book 6 after Azul is kidnapped.

Floyd mentions that he has come up with a secret menu for the lounge but he seems less serious about it than Jade, with voice lines about swiping food meant for customers and running off when he is supposed to clean up.

Jade describes himself as a waiter at the lounge but he also trains new employees, creates recipes, cooks, gets cookware repaired, expresses concern about leaving the lounge unattended and seems to always be on the hunt for new cuisine.

Jamil does not seem to have a lot of overlap with Jade, but he is still of the opinion that everything Jade says sounds shady.

Jamil may have less patience for Floyd’s mood swings than others and tries to sneak out of basketball practice when Floyd decides he no longer wishes to play.

Floyd says that Jamil plays basketball “like a goody-goody” and, until Book 4, he’d had no idea that Jamil is a vice housewarden.

At the end of Book 4 he describes Jamil as “an enormous dirtbag” and during Halloween he references Jamil’s habit of intentionally pretending he is an underachiever when Jamil tells him to put in some actual effort, responding, “Right back atcha.”

Jamil seems to have low expectations for Floyd in general, saying he has reservations about how seriously Floyd is taking their assignments during Vargas Camp and reminding him that he can’t skip out on campfire duty, to which Floyd says he sounds like Azul.

Jamil needs only minimal convincing to take up Floyd’s tasks at the end of the event after Floyd, Ruggie, Sebek and Jack succeed in Vargas’ final challenge.

Floyd says that Jamil’s habit of getting hung up on details isn’t preparedness: “More like paranoia, if you ask me.”

Jack overlaps with the twins twice in two different vignettes: in one he accidentally throws away a log that Jade was using to cultivate mushrooms (believing it was trash), leading to him working at Mostro Lounge for a week in compensation. The twins seem to grow fond of Jack while he is there, giving him head pats and asking Azul if they can keep him.

They overlap again when Jack mistakenly believes that someone is trafficking a dangerous potion through the school cafeteria. He immediately accuses Jade and Floyd, forcing his way into a briefcase that contains a beauty lotion (presumably for Vil). Jack apologizes for ruining the lotion and offers to them back for it.

Floyd mentions jump-scaring Jack during Halloween (“How can someone that big be such a fraidy-cat?”) and says he finds it weird that Jack went out of his way to pick a fight with him during Beanfest, but Floyd and Jack actually have that in common: they both have a thing about fighting people in general (and Leona specifically) at their strongest.

Malleus is MALLEUS, he is General Lilia's-- one of the strongest soldiers of Briar Valley's protege! If anyone in the world can continue his legacy and surpass it one day it's MALLEUS.

Your file was passed between the boys before they discussed whether to make you a part of their team. They all agreed you would be a valuable asset. 

Hard-working. Top of your class. A perfect shot in training. Hand to hand combat wasn’t too shabby either. The boys joked about how you would end up being competition for who was the most skilled in the team. The only person who had slight reservations about your recruit was the captain. Price was very particular with whom he let into his carefully hand-picked team. He’d worked with these boys for years, learned them inside and out; their strengths and weaknesses, their limits and tempers. They were a family to him. You, on the other hand. You were new. Someone who he would have to study, learn to see if you were the right fit for Task Force 141.

The helicopter landed outside the base at first light. The sun hit your skin harshly, burning underneath your black shirt. Probably not a good idea to wear the darkest shade in this sort of heat. Stepping off the chopper, you were greeted with two men, both of whom you didn’t recognise. You hadn’t exactly studied the men you would be working with, but looking back on that, you realised it wasn’t your smartest move. 

“Sir,” you greeted the taller gentleman who gave you the tiniest of smiles as you approached. He nodded in your direction and the shorter man extended his hand as you reached the two of them. Graciously, you shook his hand curtly, mirroring the same motion with the other soldier.

“This is Rodolfo,” the taller man gestured to the other. “I’m Vargas. Colonel Alejandro Vargas of the .Los Vaqueros” He spoke with a native tone to Las Almas, indicating to you that he was raised in these streets. The feeling that knowing if he lived here, he would protect here, brought you some peace of mind. 

“The cowboys?” You inquired, cocking your head. 

Vargas smiled then, a small one, but a smile nonetheless. “I read in your file you spoke Spanish, I’m glad to see that’s true. One less person we have to teach, huh, Rudy?”

Rodolfo chuckled. “Thank god for that, Colonel.”

“So you’re Price’s new recruit, eh?” Vargas asked, looking you up and down. “I’m glad to see you finally arrived. The boys have been waiting on you all morning.” Vargas nodded his head towards the compound. “Let’s get inside, rookie. Got a lot of work to do before you’re out in the field.”

You followed the two men inside, taking note of everything around you. The soldiers training, the vast array of military machinery and weapons out for you to ogle at, it was a lot to take in. Your previous residence, the training camp, was not nearly as advanced as this. You were going to have a lot of catching up to do.

Having the conversation with your superior about joining Task Force 141, knowing you were being recruited for a team you’d worked for your entire career, was a blessing to your ears. You felt ready. You’d worked hard enough. Hopefully, they thought the same.

There was a large table at the end of the room, where a group of men were standing around, talking with one another. You recognised some of them from what you had been told about them by your previous superiors. Sergeant McTavish, who everyone called Soap for some reason you really didn’t understand. Lieutenant Riley, known as Ghost, of course for his signature mask. It was a bit daunting, walking into a room full of professionally trained war soldiers. But you held your head high as you followed Vargas and Rodolfo.

“Hey, Price. Got your rookie here for you, hermano,” Vargas called out, drawing all the attention to himself, and of course, you. 

You hadn’t seen any of their faces before. Their photos weren’t available to you in the files, just their written notes. But you saw who you assumed was Captain Price look up from the table. He stood the furthest away from you on the other side of the table, lifting his head slightly while his hands remained pressed down on the table. He watched you intently, following you with his eyes as you approached the table. 

At first glance, he knew you seemed a little nervous, but you held your nerve quite well. He respected it. With that, and your track record on paper, he felt more confident in your skills and your place within the task force. It may take some training and some observation to see how you really were in person out in the field. But even though he still kept some reservations about you, he felt positive. 

“Well, if you’re not gonn start the introductions, Captain, I will,” one of the men at the table said, breaking the small silence between you all. “I’m Kyle, but everyone calls me Gaz.” He held out a friendly hand and you shook it, returning his introduction with your own name. Soap and Ghost introduced themselves after Gaz, Ghost was a little more reluctant and quieter than the others, but that’s what you expected of him. 

The team seemed friendly enough, warming and welcoming to your presence. In your head on the ride over you envisioned the team being cold and shut off to you being a new addition, but you were more than happy when that wasn’t the case.

After a quick briefing, Soap walked you to your room at the end of the hall. “So you’re next to Gaz. Good luck, by the way, he’s a loud snorer,” Soap chuckled, tapping on Gaz’s door gently. “And this is yours. It’s small, but comfortable, weirdly enough. You’ll fit right in, rookie.” With a fist bump as a goodbye, Soap left you to it, and you opened the door to your living quarters. He was right, it was small; a bed positioned in the corner with a bedside table resting next to it. Another door on the far left side led into a small bathroom equipped with a shower that looked all too inviting right about now. There was a desk and a set of drawers beside the door to the bathroom, so you began unpacking your duffel and filling the room with the small amount of personal belongings you brought with you. 

After thirty minutes or so, there was a knock at your door and you made your way to open it. “Captain,” you greeted Price, not expecting him to be on the other side of the door. 

“Rookie,” he returned, casting his eyes over your room before focusing back on you. “I want you in the firing range in twenty minutes. Time to see what you’re really made of, soldier.” Your heart raced at the first opportunity to finally prove yourself to this team. You weren’t about to let yourself or anyone in 141 down now.

Fifteen minutes later you had changed your clothes and tied back your hair the best you could, opening the door to the firing range to be greeted by Price patiently waiting. He glanced at his watch briefly. 

“You’re early. Even better,” Price noted, looking back up at you. “Let’s get started, shall we?” 

You’d had quite a lot of practice with weaponry during your training period back home, but it felt a little different with your Captain by your side. He watched you with pure concentration, and you could feel his eyes boring into the side of your head. But you blocked him out. A distraction in a real life situation could get you killed, so best not to let anything distract you in practice.

Price was impressed. When he saw you were written down as a perfect shot, his first inclination was to not believe that for one second. Many people had passed through him claiming to be a “perfect shot”, and all of them had fallen short. Not you, though. You really were exactly how you were down on paper. Not one shot fired without precision, not one target missed the whole time. Not one moment where your eyes ever left that firing alley, always waiting and watching for a new target to make itself known to you.

Taking off your headphones, Price followed suit and the corners of his lips were slightly upturned which you didn’t expect. “Nice work, rookie. You’re giving my boys a run for their money. They aren’t going to be happy knowing you beat their high scores.” He chuckled to himself, moving closer to you and taking the gun from your hands. “Now you seem pretty good with your long range,” he pointed out as he walked back to the shelf where his weapons were laid out. “Now lets try your short range.”

Your entire body ached. You hadn’t missed this part of training. The obstacle training was your worst enemy. One minute you’re climbing over high shit, the next you’re crawling under it. It was the worst. You sat at the end of the course, elbows resting on your knees as you let your head fall towards the ground. You heard footsteps approaching where you were sat on the floor, a pair of familiar black boots coming into your view.

“Had enough, rookie?” Price asked, amusement in his voice. You didn’t have to look up to know he was smirking at your suffering.

“Not at all, Captain,” you looked up, shielding your eyes from the sun with your left hand. “Ready whenever you are.”

He chuckled, shaking his head and holding his hand out to help you up. You took it, letting him pull you off the ground swiftly. You realised how close you were standing to one another when you were finally on your feet. His hand stayed resting on yours a few moments until he let you go, looking over your shoulder and waving over Soap and Gaz behind you. “Boys, I thought you’d be in the food hall. Not hungry today?”

Gaz laughed, and you turned to face them both. “Come on, Price. When have I ever turned down a meal? No, we were just waiting for the rookie. Figured she’d wanna come eat with us.” You nodded, looking back at Price in case he had the idea of keeping you out here a few more hours.

Price looked at you, then at Gaz and Soap. “Go get some food, Rookie. You’ve done enough for your first day. But before you go, I will say…I’m pretty impressed with how it’s going.” With that, he patted your shoulder and walked back to the main tent where Vargas and Parra were planning their next mission. 

“Did he just compliment the rookie?” Gaz mumbled to Soap, who looked just as confused.

“Um…yeah I think he might have.”

You looked at both the soldiers, confusion also painting your face. “What? You guys never get complimented by the Captain?” You joked, walking beside them as you all made your way back to the living quarters.

“Not as rookies,” Soap responded, shaking his head as he huffed a laugh to himself. “Come on, I’m starving, but I ain’t eating a thing till you’ve changed, rookie.” The three of you laughed and they both waited on you as you quickly showered and changed into simple comfortable clothes; a plain black vest and cargos.

The food was a lot more pleasant than you expected, but it was warming to have hot food in your stomach once again. Taking a sip of water, you cast a glance over the rest of the food hall. Groups of soldiers, men and women alike sitting in large groups, chatting and laughing within their own little circles. In a way it sort of reminded you of high school. You were slightly lost in your old world, even with how loud Gaz was on your left. You only clicked back into reality when a figure appeared on your right, looming over you.

“Scooch over, rookie,” you heard Price say, and you looked up to see him glancing down at you patiently. You obliged, nudging Gaz so he too would move over a little on the bench. You felt a slight dip in the wood as the Captain sat down beside you, the warmth of his body radiating onto yours. “So how are you finding Las Almas so far?”

You swallowed the food in your mouth before responding. “It’s nice. Just as I expected it to be, honestly. Definitely preferring it here to the training base I was at back home,” you smiled, looking over to him, seeing he was looking right back at you.

“I can imagine you would, rookie. The boys here were just happy to be in a warmer place rather than back in England.”

You went to say something in return, but Soap got his word in before you could. “Captain, we gotta get the rookie a nickname or something. We can’t just keep calling her the ‘rookie’ forever.”

The other boys murmured in agreement, while Ghost just looked between them, the balaclava covering most of his face still so you couldn’t really gauge his expressions from his eyes alone. 

“Well, honestly your nickname doesn’t really make much sense, Soap,” you pointed out, smiling. “If I have one I at least would want it to make some sort of sense. What does yours even mean.”

Soap thought about it before he said anything, chuckling quietly. “Well, it’s sort of a long story. But we’ll find you one that suits you, rookie, don’t worry.”

The rest of the meal went swiftly, you engaged in their light conversation and jokes, feeling like more a part of the team than an outsider now. Price kept an eye on you, seeing how you opened up a little more around the boys, your confidence slowly starting to seep through. Perhaps his first thoughts of you were wrong. Perhaps you really were going to be a fine asset to this team.

Feel free to ignore this, but... I've been thinking... Does Ramshackle even have, like, running water/electricity when Yuu moves in? It's been abandoned for so long, and Crowley doesn't seem the type to pay for services for a place no one is using. And if there is water/electricity, maybe it's in such a poorly maintained state that Yuu would probably be safer showering under a thunderstorm.

So now imagine Yuu going to Vargas and asking if she can use the gym showers when no one is there. Next thing she knows, her teachers are giving her a key to an empty staff room in the castle with its own shower and a small kitchenette, horrified at the thought that Crowley allowed a magicless girl to not only be alone in a place anyone can break into, but also without even water to wash herself or electricity to cook.

Frankly I have to agree with you. The building hasn't had living in inhabitants for the better part of a century. If it's still connected to anything, I doubt any of it would run properly. Like those pipes have to be rusted in need of replacement, you cant tell me the water in Ramshackle didn't run red from rust on the rare occasions it did work. Same with electricity, if it was ever connected to begin with. If it's anything like our world in that regard, electricity being widespread in most homes only started to be a thing in the mid 1920s. So 50/50 bet on whether or not Ramshackle had power to begin with or Yuu had to live by candlelight for a while.

It isn't until book 3 that Ramshackle looks clean and livable. Book 4 takes place over winter break, so its in December, and I think they say Book 2 is in September. So this is somewhere in October or November. Things are going to get cold and dark very fast, the problem of the living conditions at Ramshackle are getting real. Knowing Crowley, he probably put off the maintenance work until the reality is staring him in the face and all the staff are breathing down his neck to get shit fixed. So I'm pretty sure Miss Yuu has to live like this for a few months. Because Ramshackle has to have running water and electricity if all these students are going to be living there for the training. If it wasn't all at least up and running, I don't think Ramshackle would a viable option. But since Yuus motivation for agreeing to the training camp was to get money to fix the house, I don't think Crowley got the best work done. Ramshackle at that point is livable, but it still sucks. There's some loose floorboards, there's a draft in the living room, the kitchen ceiling has a leak. It does just enough to keep the rain (mostly) out.

Even if it was GN or guy Yuu, they would have to use the gym showers and maybe ask the teachers for help, because until then Ramshackle can barely be slept in. I want to have faith in the other staff that they would help Miss Yuu in any way they can. Like Vargas let's her know when the locker room is free and makes sure no one goes in until she's done. It's Treins idea to let her have access to the staff quarters and use the spare room. Especially when Crowley finally gets the work done and there is repair guys in and out of the building, she has a room to crash in for a couple weeks till it's done.

He's another one you'll have to remind that he didn't raise you. You just kind of got swept up under his wing! Almost literally! Neige doesn't have to buy him gifts. Then again…every time you remind him of those things he starts sobbing. And Neige is too sweet, and completely falls for the crocodile tears…so really it's up to you how you handle this.

I think with Sebek, whether it’s the characters or the players, most of the time many do not give Sebek a fair chance.

Which can honestly be a mix of communication and misjudging him as a character.

In game wise, I believe because of his loud personality, pride, and his draconian status, the characters just…deafen him out. Not heeding him and his abilities at the time.

Kind of just, through one ear and out the other, you know?

So when he actually shows his abilities, shows he’s more than talk, and that he’s more observant than he seems? That surprises everyone.

As a player, many misjudge him because they look at him at face value. They don’t look into the events, the story, and especially the personal stories.

So now, when he’s in the limelight, people get a feel for who Sebek truly is. Someone who’s hard working and tries his best.

It’s kind of like the whole Vil debate, some say Vil is this uncaring and all about beauty person, when in reality he is one of the kindest characters (but very blunt) and wants you to do your best.

Like all characters, there’s more than we know about them.

And like the all the characters in game, until they go through ✨trauma✨ and we seem them at their core, that’s when we truly get a feel for them.

…I have no idea where I went with this and if this made sense at all 🤣🤣 I hope I answered this in a way that’s understandable.😂🌺

Jack Info Compilation part 18: Ace, Deuce and Sebek

Ace describes Jack as “the kind of guy who plays it too cool for school, but is still the first to step up and do work no one else wants to. His whole above-it-all schtick can get obnoxious. But he turns into a puppy dog around stronger guys, so he’s pretty easy to deal with. All in all, he’s a decent guy.”

Ace once cheats at a card game in an attempt to trick Jack into washing his ceremonial robes.

Jack catches him in the act, and Ace is unapologetic.

Jack and Deuce are on the track team together. Much like Ace, Jack has no reservations about insulting Deuce’s intelligence.

During Vargas Camp Jack makes the rare decision to put forth a “team effort” with Deuce, despite his usual lack of patience with teamwork.

Deuce compliments Jack’s cooking and while Jack tries to downplay it, he also says, “…I’m sure eating it with friends around the campfire makes it taste all the better.”

But Jack refuses to believe Deuce when he talks about the mine monster from the Prologue, saying that his story sounds like a hallucination.

Jack offers to complete their task alone (Jack insulting Deuce for being “too chicken” was added to his EN dialogue), but Deuce insists on going with him, despite his fears.

It is Jack who first notices when Deuce isn’t back at camp that night, and when other students tell him that Deuce is probably slacking off like Ace, Jack insists, “I can tell you, without a doubt, that he’s no slacker.”

Jack does not seem overly fond of Sebek, asking “Why’s Sebek always gotta be such a pain?” in a vignette and saying that he doesn’t care if Sebek respects his upperclassmen, he just wants him to stop trying to force others to do the same.

Jack is Sebek’s judge for the Culinary Crucible, and Sebek takes great offense at Jack calling his chicken noodle soup “normal.”

Jack is also Sebek’s interviewer in his second birthday vignette and gifts him with book about physical training, asking him to share any insights he may learn after he reads it. Sebek says he would like to hear Jack’s opinions as well.
