Riddle Rosehearts

He was definitely weirded out by you. You always wore traditional mourning clothing (and Crowley couldn’t say anything against it lest it get out to the press that NRC isn’t allowing its students to mourn properly), but you always had a bright smile on your face.

What really got him worried was when you asked if you could measure him for a nice and beautiful coffin. He politely refused, but he got to thinking: maybe he should order one for Ace because he seems to have a death wish.

He does enjoy your company, especially since you seem to know your way around tea and the different kinds of tea leaves. You also respect the Queen’s rules because you used to follow a Queen. You were, in all honesty, his favorite person aside from Trey.

When you told him that you were a grim reaper, he was definitely concerned. You even brought out your scythe and held it to Ace’s neck, threatening to turn him into a doll if he didn’t stop his big mouth. Riddle had to use his unique magic to hold you back, but it was then that he learned you weren’t human and you weren’t powerless.

Leona Kingscholar

He honestly didn’t care about you until after his overblot. He woke up to you taking his measurements, and you explained that if he hadn’t woken up then you would have made a coffin for him. That was one hell of an introduction.

However, after moving past that little moment, you both actually became quite close. Ramshackle became a place of dead silence (get it?), which was where Leona often went to get some rest after a chaotic day of being the Savanaclaw Housewarden. You’ve even designed a coffin-shaped bed for him so that he would be more comfortable.

One memory that Leona remembers is the time when Cheka came to visit, and you suggested a game of hide-and-seek, where the two of you hide and the older lion has to come find you both. Well, this put him in a state of panic because he couldn’t find either of you until he opened an older coffin to find the two of you asleep.

When you told him you were a retired grim reaper, he thought you fit the stereotype quite well aside from your absolutely beautiful face. You wore what he assumed to be mourning clothes and mourning lockets, along with a top hat which went with the typical image of a grim reaper. You even had a scythe to complete it, so he thought it was hilarious.

Azul Ashengrotto

He was intrigued because he heard that you held information, and exchanged it for a few simple jokes that made you laugh. Azul wasn’t warned by your mourning clothes as it might be normal for someone that came from your world, so he asked about a few people he wished to put under a contract. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make you laugh.

That was when the two of you became rivals. He sent the twins to go see if Ramshackle would be a suitable place to branch out the Mostro Lounge, only to hear it became a full funeral parlor (which wasn’t exactly good for the clientele he was trying to attract [read: alive]). After Azul made it clear that he wanted your dorm, you sent back a response asking for his measurements so that you could design a coffin for him after he died from heartbreak from not getting what he wanted.

It wasn’t until after his overblot that he realized how powerful you were. You weren’t human, but not in the way that he wasn’t either. No, you didn’t even have a beating heart, and you couldn’t accumulate overblot. The smile on your face had a different meaning than finding joy in the midst of death.

In the infirmary, you told him that you were a former grim reaper who started up a funeral parlor so that you could try to revive the dead. You came here in hopes that this world’s magic could work, but Azul told you that nothing could bring them back to life… Not even a contract could do that.

Kalim Al-Asim

You both were genuinely happy people, you were just a tad more eccentric than he was. He considered parties fun, while you considered building coffins and caskets to be the most entertaining thing a person can do. He’s very supportive of your hobby though, especially if it offers families the closure of having a proper funeral for a lower price.

There was one time where you were invited over to Scarabia, and your first question was to ask if you could measure Kalim for a coffin. He was about to accept before Jamil turned you down, much to your amusement. However, once Kalim went over to Ramshackle, he did get to experience laying in a coffin and he had to say that it was a unique experience.

When Jamil overblotted, Kalim was able to witness the pure strength you had. You honestly egged the overblot victim on, and it seemed as though you didn’t care if he got tired out or if he died since either way it would benefit you. Your scythe was something to behold as well.

His view of you didn’t change though. You were still his girlfriend who had a morbid fascination with death. It made sense though, considering you couldn’t exactly die if you were a God of Death (AKA shinigami). All in all, he found you very fun and unique.

Vil Schoenheit

Like a few of the others, he was weirded out by you. You described his beauty as ‘one who was one breath away from death’ because of a scary-themed makeup look he did a little while ago. For the Halloween event, you designed coffins that Pomefiore could emerge out of.

He doesn’t mind your weird obsession of the macabre and of death itself. A lot of directors casted him in horror movies, so he gets the hype behind it. He has even recycled the coffin that you made for him for a bunch of photoshoots while also giving you credit. That, in turn, got you a lot of DM’s on Magicam for commissions, which then boosted profits of your funeral parlor.

Vil got to see a glimpse of you being a grim reaper when you sensed that Rook was in a nearby tree. You used the handle of your scythe to hit the tree hard, knocking the Vice Housewarden off of the branch he was perched on. The movie star was certainly impressed.

You bluntly told him one day as he was admiring your scythe. You held nothing back as you told him you were a Shinigami and retired Grim Reaper and that you were absolutely fascinated with the concept of death. You also told him how your dream was to bring someone back from the dead just as they were before they passed. It was a weird but admirable dream, so Vil supported it.

Idia Shroud

You reminded him of the character from the anime My Parents Were Killed In A Fire, So I Hired a Demon As My Butler to Help Me Get Revenge. He reminded you of the Greek god of the Underworld, who often partnered with Death. So you both got along quite well.

Your relationship started off weird, since you asked for his measurements to build a coffin. But the more that he thought about it, coffins were pretty comfortable. So he asked if you would consider making one for him to use in place of a bed, hopefully to promote himself to sleep in a bed made by his girlfriend. It totally wasn’t so you would be comfortable sleeping in his room, cuddled close to him… totally not!

He kind of guessed that you were a grim reaper because of how you dressed, and also the fact that you reminded him of the Funeral Director from the aforementioned anime. So, it was no surprise to him when he was virtually at the Housewarden’s meeting to see you threaten Crowley with a scythe.

Honestly, the old crow deserved a good scare, since you were more powerful than even the most powerful of mages. You were the space between life and death, which gave you a place of authority over everyone. It was amazing to see the Headmage shaking in his boots, and Idia made a mental note to never get on your bad side.

Malleus Draconia

It was one night that he walked by Ramshackle only to see it transformed into a nice-looking funeral parlor. Honestly, he wasn’t that surprised because the building was filled with ghosts and probably the bodies of said ghosts. What he didn’t expect was seeing you working on a coffin outside.

That was how you both met. He walked up to you and asked what you were doing when you saw Malleus’s tall stature. You knew the entire population of Twisted Wonderland due to your time as a reaper, so you were aware that Malleus was of royal blood and lineage. That drove you to ask to take his measurements so that you could design a coffin befitting royalty. The young fae was amused and accepted, as long as you would agree to going on walks with him every night.

It was during one of these nightly walks that you revealed what you truly were. You set your top hat down upon a nearby grassy knoll and brushed your bangs out of your face which revealed your phosphorescent eyes as well as the scar that ran across your face. Malleus thought you were the most beautiful person he has ever seen. It was then that he gently held your face in his hands, pulled you closer, and placed a gentle but passionate kiss upon your lips.

He discovered your ability to wield a scythe when Sebek was scolding you for being a bad influence on the Crowned Prince of Briar Valley, and you had had enough. You pulled out your scythe almost out of nowhere and held it to the knight’s neck with a menacing smile, daring him to continue talking if he wanted to end up in one of your cheapest coffins. This little situation was very amusing to Malleus, since he knew you wouldn’t do anything to hurt his knights.

What makes Rook Hunt a member of team coffee?

If you have read the in-depth coffee description you probably can tell that I have mixed feelings on them. Why? Because of the betrayal!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Rook has a part in this betrayal mix. At first glance a coffee seems put together, like Rook, he looks like he doesn’t have any problems. 

However, underneath all that, he’s hiding something. I don’t know what it is for Rook, but he is surrounded by mystery. This mystery is most likely a tragic backstory that will make me sob. Moving on, this mysterious air is something team coffee is very familiar with, be it a dead lover or trust issues they have it all. For that reason, Rook has been added into the pile. 

Rook reminds me of Luke Foster from Kissed by the Baddest Bidder. Luke and Rook both are into the beauty of others as well as carry a mysterious air around them. Plus, I’m sure that in Luke’s route the MC experiences some very dramatic events. Which just happens to suit Rook as well.

Riddle, as one of the shortest people in NRC gets it. He understands how others can judge by the cover, especially if the cover is a short person. He's ego still gets stroked when you're near, he's taller then you and it has him a bit at ease.

Not to mention, when it comes to strength, you both are quite powerful. So, if anyone of the suicidal students dares to somehow insult you, well... let's just say he gets clapped. Though Riddle gets it, he is still quite surprised by your abilities

After he finds out who is your mother and after you explain who exactly she is, boy-. Riddle might have a small war flashback about his mother due to the way you describe your mom, but don't worry! He knows that your mothers are nothing alike.

Leona Kingscholar

When I tell you, he knew it the first time he smelled saw you, I mean it. Call it a 6th sense or a cat thing but he could tell that even if you looked harmless, you possessed quite the power. Still, he's surprised.

That doesn't mean he won't tease you about your hight. He's gotten maintain his jerk reputation you know. That would include him, putting things on shelves you won't reach, making short jokes and etc.

Leona glocks the while bucket of respect women juice daily. So after hearing what's your mother is capable of and who's she exactly, he doubled the effort. Ngl if he met her at some point he would definitely be intimidated... like visible intimidated-

-You'd try to look away from embarrasment, but when vil sees this... Oh boy... He'd pout, and as he's massaging your hands. He'd intertwine your fingers with his, to make you look at his direction again.

"Wait. Rewind. What do you mean Night Raven College is on the verge of closing down?"

Riddle sighed as he ran his hand down his face at Leona’s question. Right now, he was in the zoom meeting with all the Great Seven's descendants. Both Leona and Malleus were calling from their hometown, while they could hear the typical office noise from Idia’s background. Kalim insisted himself to join in, sharing a laptop screen with Jamil from his room, same as Riddle, Azul, and Jonah from their own room, while Vill called from the teacher's office. It was pretty amazing how they were closer than before after that happened a year ago.

“Night Raven College is currently under tight surveillance from the Ministry of Magic,” Vil explained. “Headmaster Duncan James Umbridge says that the students here need to be under watchful eyes until they can finally ‘see the light’. One more tragedy and it’s bye-bye NRC for good.”

“They just can’t do that!” Kalim protested. “NRC is our school. We haven’t even graduated yet!”

“He added more rule and forbids various activities,” Azul sighed, taking off his glasses to pinch the bridge of his nose. “He even forbids Mostro Lounge from operating.”

Leona turned to Vil. “And you can’t do anything about it?”

Vil shook his head. “My position here is still assistant headmaster, I can’t do much during the internship.”

“Even if you’re supposed to be the next headmaster?”

“Not until I’m 24.” He sighed, massaging his temple. “But still… Even I’m overwhelmed with all of the sudden change after Crowley’s disappearance.”

“Have any of you know where he went?” Jonah asked.

Malleus shook his head. “He hadn’t returned to the Valley of Thorn. It was as if he disappeared out of thin air.”

“And that was just after the fourth year started the internship right?” Idia added.

“Yes,” Vil said. “A week after that Mister Umbridge arrived. And a few days later, he took the headmaster position. Like… It was so sudden. No announcements. Even the teachers were surprised.”

“My question is: why now?” Jamil suggested. “After everything that happened last year, only now the ministry acts.”

Riddle hummed. “That’s true. Not even our parents know every detail of all the mess we had caused.”

“They always say: 'Tales of Night Raven College, stays in Night Raven College’,” Idia muttered.

“But it seems like the school can’t contain them anymore,” Malleus said.

“Or someone leaked it,” Leona suggested, causing everyone to turn toward him.

“What do you mean?” Riddle asked.

Leona shifted in his bed. “I'm just saying, as Jamil had said, it’s weird that the ministry decides to do their job now instead of the first time when the Red Prince overblot if we’re talking about a big event. They didn’t even bat an eye during my stampede, and we have the Dragon Prince there.”

Malleus frowned. “I wasn’t there.”

“But everyone thought you were,” Leona said, and everyone, except Riddle, Jonah, and Malleus, hummed in agreement.

“Wait…” Jonah said. “Are you saying that someone might leak all of these, but they waited for the right moment?”

Leona nodded, then turned to Vil. “Did the new headmaster mention any incident that leads them to take action?”

“Um… Wait.” Vil seemed to be shuffling something behind the screen, before looking up again. “Not really… Pretty classified even between the teachers…” He flipped more pages as he continued. “He mentioned about changes and abandoning old habits so we don’t repeat the same tragedy. Typical good guy speech.”

“Underline that,” Leona said. “'Tragedy’. What possible tragedy he could be referring to?”

“If I may suggest.” Everyone turned to Malleus. “I guess that it might be us overbloting.”

Riddle’s eyes widened. “But nobody knows that we overblot! Not even our parents!”

“I have to point out that it was a 'tragedy’ not 'tragedies’, if we take it literally,” Malleus mention.

“So… You’re saying that they only count one overblot out of eight that happened?” Idia muttered.

Malleus nodded. “And whose overblot could’ve been that?” His gaze shifted toward one prefect. “Maybe, just maybe… It was yours?”

I had this plot bunnies for a long time. Speculation for Season 2. I don't know why I think a Disney-fiend Umbridge might appear in TWST, maybe based on Frollo or Prince John because... why not?

Even if it doesnt happen, some plot point here is quite important...

I’m a proshipper at heart! Rook/Vil, Jack/Vill, Leona/Ruggie, Vil/Rook/Epel, Diasomnia/Yuu - I love exploring different ships and angles because it forces you to think outside of the box. How do they fit together? What’s their dynamic? And honestly? That actually helps out a lot in my line of work. 

I think Leona/Jack/Ruggie is an interesting ship! Despite the whole Savanaclaw Overblot episode, I think Jack would somewhat still respect his senpai and learn a different sort of strength from Ruggie and Leona and in return maybe Leona and Ruggie can help Jack chill for once, enjoy life, ya know??
