Sky remained silent during the conversation, the words sinking into his core and freezing his lungs, refusing to give breath as the heartbreaking realization hit him.

This was his fault. Not just the curse forcing these boys and men to fight in wars they shouldn't have to, but even now...

The Shadow was his fault.

The camp was quiet as Sky held vigil, which made the rustling of branches and leaves all the more apparent. He glanced over the cliff, and saw a monster horde, too large to be an independent band of beasts.

Which meant the Shadow had to be nearby.

This was his fault. His mistake. And he would fix it.

Drawing the Master Sword and his shield, Sky tread carefully onward. The trail continued until it led into a larger clearing. Sky hung at the outskirts, ensuring this wasn’t an enemy camp or an ambush waiting to happen.

Instead, he saw a familiar sight.

A portal.

The Skyloftian knight stood stock still, the crickets trilling peacefully as his mind was at war. His eyes hardened in resolve as he came to a decision.

Sheathing his blade, Link stared determinedly through the portal, and marched ahead alone.

“Do you know where Sky is?”

"Sky's missing?"

The portal distorted the world around it, dark and foreboding. The Chain debated the matter as Hyrule glared at the gate, hating the dark magic but eager to push through to find his friend.

Once on the other side, the heroes treaded carefully through the remains of a battle, dread filling their stomachs.

Twilight gasped. “This—this is my Hyrule!”

A dark laugh echoed in the chamber. "You truly don’t get it, do you? You don’t understand how terribly you failed?”

"Shut up!"

Black blood stained multiple blades. Desperation hung heavily in the air.

"I'm finishing this," Sky snarled.

Dick just pretens to he uninterested, despite his mind racing at the new info. He is piecing past moments together, every shadow leaping away, every note with tips, leads and—

"Do you... like it? Doing all that?" Richard approaches thus carefully, brows furrowed at the kid opposite of him.

Danny moves his head, giving a 'so-so' answer. "It's not much to like, I can see ghosts, and they know it and use it. If it brings them to peace or whatever– well, that's just a plus."

Dick stares. He places his chopsticks down and looks at Danny worried.

In turn, the kid sighs. "Sometimes gifts become curses the longer you have it."

And Dick understands.

Mind made up, he throws a pair of keys at the kid, watching fondly as the other catches them with confusion.

"Next time use these, instead of entering through the window."

Danny mock-salutes with a shit eating grin. "Yes, Officer grayson."

it's SO funny that when asked what he had to do to prepare for his role in IWTV Sam Reid says he had to learn how to play the piano, learn to speak French, Italian, and English with a French accent.
