the zionist idea of absolutely needing to have a "home country" to "return" to has always baffled me as a black person.

Disney songs that hit different when you're queer
"Reflection" Mulan (specifically if you're transgender)
"I'll Make A Man Out of You" Mulan (the transmasc euphoria song)
"Jack's Lament" the Nightmare Before Christmas
"Part of Your World" the Little Mermaid
"God Help the Outcasts" the Hunchback of Notre Dame
"I'm Still Here" Treasure Planet (specifically my transmasc anthem but my experiences are not universal)
"Out There" the Hunchback of Notre Dame (when you're closeted)
"Waiting On a Miracle" Encanto (when you're queer and religious)
"One of Us" Lion King 2
"How Far I'll Go" Moana ( when the people who raised you wouldn't let you be exposed to any queer media)
"Colors of The Wind" Pocahontas (the only good thing the Pocahontas franchise brought us was the soundtrack. When my friend was closeted she said to a girl who was being blatantly homophobic " you think the only people who are people are the people that look and think like you." Stopped her in her tracks!)
"Kiss the Girl" the Little Mermaid (but specifically when. You know what I mean lmao)
"When Will My Life Begin" Tangled
"Go The Distance" Hercules
"I Won't Say I'm In Love" Hercules
"One Jump Ahead (reprise)" Aladdin
"Proud of Your Boy" Aladdin Broadway musical
"If I Never Knew You" Pocahontas
Do feel free to add. Just don't let Disney see this

It was you and your dad, after your mom had left you both, it was just the two of you. That changed when you both went to Pandora, it was suppose to be your uncle Tommy, but he was killed in an armed robbery. Your dad had fallen for a na'vi and had basically betrayed the whole human race and so on, after the war he decided to stay, and so did you, thinking that he was going to remain to his promise about never leaving you, regardless of what happens.
Then your half brother Neteyam was born, you've never seen your father so proud about having a son. It made you wonder if that's was his same expression when he had you in his arms. He was happy and you were happy seen him happy. That was when things began to change, as much as you wanted to spend time with baby Neteyam, your so called step mother seemed like she didn't want you to be near her son. It confused you since your dad had allowed you to be with him occasionally, but not Neytiri, she'd often tell you to stay away from him or to not go near him. It must have been the new mother instinct or something.
Next they adopted Kiri, a baby born from Grace's avatar, no one knows where she came from, she was some kind of miracle baby, that was when things began to change. You notice the look on your father's face, how his eyes would lit up when he'd see his baby girl, you remember when he used to look at you with those same eyes, not anymore. It was as if Kiri had become his new Baby Girl, he stopped calling you that a few weeks after Kiri and Neteyam's first communication with Eywa ceremony, he'd only refer to you by Kid or by your name, something you're not used to. But as time passed you got used to it.
Lastly came Lo'ak and Tuk, they had a total of four kids, well, Jake had a total of five, but he had basically stopped interacting with you, specially since you were already grown. It was as if he as waiting for you to turn to a full grown adult so that he could ignore you with the excuse that you were already grown and didn't need him. Despite being a grown up, you still needed your dad. While your younger siblings got both his and their mother's attention, you were basically ignored. You understood, they're much younger than you, but you already wanted the slight bit of attention too.
You weren't really alone, their was Spider, a kid who was stuck here as well. You both lacked the kind of attention you wished. He had lost both his parents, even though your dad was still alive, he was busy with leader duties and his family. You were both like outcasts, Spider had considered you her sister the moment you both met, and you considered him your brother. Despite everything, Spider really liked interacting with the Sully kids, even though your step mother did not like him, he didn't care.
Meanwhile, you barely spent any time with your siblings. They didn't even know you were their older sister until later on, they thought you were a friend of their dad, but when they found out the truth, they were confused on why you were never really around them. As much as you wanted to be around them, you never couldn't, you were always pushed a side by Neytiri and your dad. They always had the excuse that they were busy with the kids, but you'd watch them have fun at the lake without you, when you had brought it up with your dad, about wanting to spend time with your family, he'd often 'forget' about you, yeah right.
Lo'ak and Kiri loved the idea of having a human sister, specially since you both shared the same features about having the same amount of fingers and toes. They'd spent most of their time with you and Spider, then Tuk began to tag along with Spider. You were all basically a small group, always together, except for Neteyam. He was busy training on being the next leader of the Omaticaya and stuff, you didn't really know him much due to him being busy and always pressured by your father and his all of a sudden high expectations. He didn't have high expectations with you, so what was the change in plan?
Even though you'd spend time with your siblings, by the end of the day, they'd always go back to their home, with their family while you'd go back to the lab, on your own. Sometimes you wished that you were born a na'vi or have an avatar body so that you could at least be seen by your dad, by this time your dad had become a stranger, he no longer spoke to you, only when necessary, he'd just give you a 'Hey Kid' or not even look at you at all, as if he no longer thought you there. You had given up trying to have that relationship with your father like you did many years back, whenever you tried talking with him it was as if you were talking to a wall or talking by yourself, so why bother trying to interact with him. You were basically a spare child of Jake's.

One thing I don't like about the current fandom discourses esp relating to normies/casual fans filling up fandom spaces and complaining about cringe culture, bandwagon-ing antis, mainstreaming and tiktok-ifying underrated anime or shows is people making a parallel of nerds/geeks/outcasts meeting the popular bullies. Just because a lot of y'all were bullied for being a fan doesn't mean you have to accept that title. You sound insecure and have an inferiority complex, no wonder you let these discourses even happen. If you're proud of cringe, you don't even need to interact with people who will waste your time saying "no u", "freak! kys", or "this feels millennial" instead of making a real argument and even if they do make an argument, it's recycled over and over again because these people have no identity, no personality, no apathy, no standing ground, nothing. They're one dimensional it is a very much and real sociological phenomenon.

Writeblr ReIntro!
I'm posting a new intro because now that I've been on Writeblr a little while, I realize how much information I left out! Hi, I'm Stephanie, I live in the desert with my husband and baby and three cats, and I'm an ace, bipolar fantasy writer! When I was a kid, they said I had ADHD but then I got my Masters degree in biology, so they claim I can't have it. Online tests say I'm probably autistic.
I used to write sci fi twelve years ago but only low tech sci fi about weird aliens, which nobody likes. Now I write fantasy novels! Lots of fantasy novels! I am beginning to post them on my website so if you want to read them, please keep an eye on this post.
My books often but not always have some romance (either m/f or f/f because I prefer female protagonists.) Since I'm ace (and demiromantic), my interpretation of romance and attraction is not exactly what you'd expect from, say, a romance novel.
I am not going to tell you about all my books! I've written eighteen! Four of them are shelved forever! Here's some recent ones (written or revised since 2018) that I haven't given up on. Please ask me questions about them! I LOVE talking about my books! Also, if you want to be added to my taglist for writing samples let me know! Please also tell me if you're interested in alpha or beta reading and for which book! Mutuals only, please!
My books are beneath the cut! As I add WIP intros, I'll update this list with links.
Cast Out
YA fantasy! On her sixteenth birthday, Zisha is cast out of the Plenary Cities for the crime of being born deaf, like her grandmother before her. In the wastelands, she meets Thesil, a depressed and bitter young woman. Zisha wants nothing to do with her — until she sees Thesil's face in a vision. But before she can find out what the visions mean or reach her grandmother's holdings in the wastes, the plague returns to the Plenary Cities. If the disabled really caused the plague thirty years ago, and were cast out to stop the spread, how can it be back when all of them are outcast?
Status: Finished. Being serialized.
WIP intro here.
Now being serialized here. First five chapters up, one posted weekly.
The Bone Queen
This is my NA fantasy about the aftermath of freeing an undead queen and her skeleton army. They take over the kingdom, of course! The main character, Elise, is trapped in Bandrum palace by Aubrey, the ghost who tricked her into falling in love and freeing him (plus everyone else.) He's an animated skeleton now with plans to marry Elise and force her to carry his children. The bone queen has promised him she'll make it happen. Too bad no one cares what Elise wants. If only she had magic of her own...
Status: undergoing a rewrite after developmental edit. Was 109k before revisions. Not available for beta reading.
Draft number? Hahahaha. It has two complete sequels (The Spellbound King (106k) and The Matriarch's Daughter (96k)) I must also rewrite. This series is going to kill me but I love it. My mom, who loves everything I write, complained that it was weird. I'm very proud.
WIP intro here.
First chapter here.
School of Souls
This is my YA contemporary fantasy about a boarding school in the Bighorn Mountains! It's supposed to be a place parents can send "bad" teens to have their problems sorted out, but secretly the founder is using it to train the kids as sorcerers. Even more secretly, the school devours the souls of the students sent there, and the teenagers who graduate aren't the same as the ones who arrived... Warning: does include teenage addiction to sleeping pills and ghosts and and parental death. It's going to have sequels but I haven't written them yet.
Status: Complete first draft. 83k. Available for alpha reading.
WIP intro here.
First chapter here.
The Many-faced Princess
This is YA fantasy with a historical vibe but set in a made up world. Vaguely inspired by ancient Phoenicia. It's about Princess Ameryi, who was blessed by the genderless trickster god, Akihel, to be able to change her face. If her father the king ever found out, he'd have to execute her, of course. Akihel is just plain evil. All the other gods say so. A daughter who's their champion? Impossible. An abomination. So Ameryi will just have to make sure her father never finds out. That was easier to do before the Asirtinsa Empire threatened to invade and her father sent her to secure an alliance with a neighboring king. She's supposed to marry him. Not steal his face and frame him for murder. But sometimes plans just don't work out.
This book was supposed to be about two lesbian princesses who frame the king for murder so they can elope, but both princesses decided to be ace and there was nothing I could do.
Status: Complete first draft. 83k. It's going to have sequels but I haven't written them yet. Available for alpha reading.
First chapter here.
Map here.
Court Phoenix
This is my NA fantasy! Kerra is a blacksmith's apprentice. Not because she wants the job, but because her mother sold her future to him when she was still a toddler who crawled into live fires and giggled as the flames consumed her clothes. Now she's a woman, trapped by the expectations of her family and her village. Until one day, a phoenix crash-lands and dies in her arms. When it's reborn, it chooses Kerra as its keeper. Soon, her dreary future is swept away. A princess from Skyfire, the moving city, offers her a job in the royal court. How could Kerra refuse? Her family's claims that she'll die if she ever leaves the village are just manipulative lies. Aren't they?
Status: Complete third draft. 104k. Available for beta reading.
First chapter here.
The Revenant Trilogy
Adult fantasy. Solving a murder should bring good fortune, but all it brings Mindral Thideet is disaster. Her fame and peaceful life as head researcher at the city of knowledge end abruptly. In retaliation for her investigation into his crimes, Payar Cheref, the head of the powerful Cheref family, burns her beloved cousins alive and scars her face. The scar marks her as a revenant, a body possessed by a godkin, one of the gods' evil children. Her life as a researcher is over. All that's left is revenge.
No one believes her when she denies that godkins have any power over her. But godkins, real ones, are far closer than she realizes. Tearing down Payar Cheref could destroy Mindral, her family, and the nation itself.
-The Halfway Revenant (rewriting draft 4) 120k. Not available for beta reading.
-The Soul-Seer (draft 2) - 130k
-The Godkin's Gambit (draft 2) 121k
First chapter here.
As Immortality Fades
Adult fantasy. Five hundred years ago, one of the immortal and unpredictable Valteifur visited the kingdom of Kathild and granted the young queen Nelone immortality. But there was a catch. She'd live forever, youthful and strong, just so long as her subjects were happy. For centuries, she's met her part of the deal. But when the Valteifur returns to check on her progress, he grants her a new gift: the resurrection of every single person in Kathild who's died in the last two hundred years. Then he disappears.
There aren't enough houses for them all. There's not enough food. And winter is here.
Status: Complete first draft. 98k. Available for alpha reading.
Bi MC, enemies to lovers.
First chapter here.
Stitches and Memories
This one's adult fantasy. Antea's father ripped her mind apart, left her for dead, and vanished twelve years ago, and she's going to find out why. But when constables try to kill her and strange truth magic grows inside of her, hunting her father starts to look like suicide. Too bad going home isn't an option.
Status: I exchanged this with a critique partner and now it embarrasses me. Fourth draft. 122k. Available for beta reading.
Trigger warning: magic seizures
First chapter here.
WIP intro here.
Triangle Park
Contemporary Fantasy. I have no idea who it's for. An elf exiled to the middle of nowhere ends up stuck with an unexpected child. It's about reluctant parenting and protecting the needy. And elves and faeries slumming it in a mobile home.
Status: Complete first draft. 86k. Available for alpha reading.
First chapter here.
Mud-Child
Adult fantasy. Rebeka has always heard that a woman who goes through menopause loses her spark (the magic that lets her create children). If she's had children, it just makes the neighbors a little more fertile. But Rebeka never wanted a man, and she never wanted to raise a child. Not since her twin sister died and her beloved Suza left her for a man. The problem is, the spark leaves a childless woman differently, everyone says. A bitter hag? She'll curse her neighbors. A sweet dim biddie? She'll give her spark to inanimate objects and create a monster. Rebeka doesn't know which she is, but she believes it's a myth.
That was before the clay in her clay pit woke up and called her mother.
Status: Third draft. 109k. Needs a rewrite! Not available for beta reading.
First chapter here.

Genya:
You've always doubted yourself when it came to most things you felt weak, useless, and like an outcast. You just felt like every time you tried to help you made it worse.
When you told your parents that you were thinking about joining the demon slayer corpse they laughed In your face telling you , you'd die within a couple seconds.
This didn't stop you! Sure at times you've thought about giving up, but proving everyone wrong and seeing the look on there faces to see that you've succeed in your goal kept you going
When you met Genya you almost immediately fell for him. You really also really admired Genya.
He was so strong, polite, kind and tough, so when he confessed to you all nervous and blushy, you where excited, confused, happy , so many emotions all at once. He was yours and you where his.
Genya took care for you, you loved it and hated it. It made you feel weak, at some point in the day you and Genya were walking through the town when Genya stopped to buy something from this mini store.
As you where waiting outside you over heard a group of women and men talking about how Genya looks to good to be with you, to strong, tall to better to be with someone like you, weak
You felt all lump in your throat form and your eyes blur as tears form. That's when Genya stepped out smiling but quickly changed when he saw your sad expression.
"What's wrong?" He asked worriedly you shook your head and looked away "let's talk at home" he nodded his head and grabbed your hand running his callous thumb over your hand. So you two walk home in silence.
The walk home seems so long but when you finally arrived at your shared home and sat down on your bed ...and finally letting it all out
You broke down letting all the years of built of sadness out Genya was shocked and quickly went to comfort you, sitting next to you and wrapping his arms around you.
"What's wrong?! Did someone say something to you? " you shook your head taking a deep breath in and looking down.
"I.. I feel so useless all the fucking time.. Like I'm this little weak thing that can't do anything right... Your so much better than me, your stronger, tougher, just ... Better.. I look fucking pathetic standing next to you"
Genya cupped his hands on your red cheeks and looked at your teary eyes " [Name] I love you so much, you're not useless at all... How could you think that. Being useful doesn't always mean being strong or strength in general. It could mean mentality, you are so sweet and give amazing advice.
You listen to me and the others and really help us get through our issues.I admire you so much... I don't know what we'd do without you." Hearing those words were all you need to hear, that's all you wanted to hear, and you finally got to hear it.
You looked at Genya and hugged him tightly crying even harder soaking his shirt. Genya gently hugged you resting his chin on your head, rocking you back and forth slowly.
When finally the tears stopped Genya lifted his chin off your head, cupping your cheeks and kissing your forehead "come on let's go make some food, I'm hungry" you chuckled and nodded your head taking your hand into his.

Muichiro:
You grew up in a household where you had to be the highest achiever. You've always felt as if you where nothing as if you have achieved nothing in your life.
You had to be the best at everything, not good but the best of the best. You didn't even want to join the demon slayer corpse, in fact you where scared shitless. You just wanted your parents to be proud of you ,so you joined anyway.
And when you came back home from your training, all you got was "so when are you going to become a Hashira?" That's okay you could do better and you would! You could do it! So you pushed your self.
You first met Muichiro because you applied to be his Tsuguko and he accepted. You and him would often talk, well mostly you. Laying down on the grass and staring up at the fluffy clouds. He would listen and put his thoughts here and there, and sometimes would laugh. He enjoyed spending time with you and so did you.
He was so hard working, logical and a genius he became a Hashira within two months at 14, you felt like such an idiot for taking a year to finish your training then another year to become an official Hashira.
So when you gathered up the courage to confess to him you thought he would look at you blankly and walk away. But instead he smiled and the took your hand into his and said "I feel the same way [Name]". It seemed like time had stopped and you felt so many emotions all at once. Mainly happiness
You and Muichiro where sitting in the estates garden, you where talking about how you thought how beautiful the flowers where and all the different types of flowers, while Muichiro nodded and smiled.
That's when you spotted two demon slayers not to faraway looking at you. "Hey [Name] I'm gonna go get a snack I'm a little hungry, would you like anything?" you shook your head no "okay, I won't be to long" he smiled.
You looked down at your hands still feeling the gaze of the two slayers. "Hey, you're [Name] the new Hashira, aren't you ?"You looked up to see the two demon slayers now standing in front of you.
"Oh, um yeah" they both looked at each other and laughed, you furrowed your eye brows "Is something wrong? Er-". "Oh come on, do you really think Muichiro actually likes you?"," Yeah, he only said yes because he feels bad for you, I mean look at him he's better looking and he became a Hashira in two months. Then there's you.. Two years it's fucking pathetic, you'll never be up to his level".
Then they walked away, you where at a lost for words what the fuck just happened.. I mean what the fuck...I mean they were just demon slayers not Hashiras..But..Maybe they where right.. You'll never be good enough, never be up to his standards. It was all to much and you let the tears fall.
"[Name?....] You looked up quickly whipping away your tears, "what happened?" He sat beside you gently taking your hands into his. Oh no you felt tears at the brim of your eyes again "come on talk to me... I'm listening"
You took in a deep breath "I will never be up to your level no matter how hard I try.. You're just so good looking.. And a genius over all I mean, you became a Hashira in two months and it took me two years!
You looked down in shame not wanting to see his reaction to this. What if he thought you were stupid for saying all this. Where you too much for him? Did you say too much? There were such "what if's" going through your mind.
Bu your thoughts where all silenced when he lifted your chin to make you look and him. And took your hands into his and said "Honestly.. I thought you where the one too good for me, I admire your resilience, I don't know how you do it sometimes. Me taking two months while it took you two years doesn't mean anything. Just because you took longer then me doesn't mean your lesser than me. It's okay to take longer then someone else, I can be good at fighting but you can be way better at it, we all have different strengths and weaknesses. "
Yeah. All you needed was words of kindness, caring words. He cared and it showed he loved you he truly did. He thought no less of you in fact he thought more of you. You then leaned in and kissed his left cheek "thank you, Mui" you said with a smile
Muichiro cheeks turned bright pink and looks away "yeah no problem.. " he trailed off. "W-well, I tried to learn some origami want to come and see?..." You shook your head yes happily and he got up and held out his hand, so you took his hand walking to his place.

the brothers dropping their child off at daycare for the first time
-> brothers x mc
a/n: Hey! I'm back at it with the wholesome dad content. Just to be clear, the babies here are the same ones as the ones from my '(character) as a father' series. Also, let's assume the children are around 2 here.
mc's gender is not mentioned, but it is implied they used to be/ are pregnant. I tagged this post with gn!mc, let me know if I need to change it to something else, please! This post was not proofread
content warnings: children, babies, (past) pregnancy, mild angst (insecurity, separation, fear of being a distant parent), mild suggestive content
-----
Lucifer
he did not want to drop his daughter off at daycare at first
because a, he was too proud to do so and b, he'd never admit it, but he'd miss her terribly
however, lucifer has a ton of work, and you can't look after lilith the whole time
one day, lilith came to her dad, asking him to play with her, sadly lucifer rejected the offer because he had to sign paperwork
this happened multiple times, until lucifer decided it wasn't healthy for his daughter to hear 'no, I can't' the entire time, he didn't want her to believe she has a distant father
so, you and him agreed on dropping her off at daycare in the mornings, and picking her up around noon
that way, lucifer can grind out paperwork and play with his child later
lilith didn't like being apart from her family, but she saw playing with her dad later as motivation to get through daycare
the first day his daughter was away from home, lucifer barely got any work done though, he missed his baby
Mammon
your son was very social
he loved playing outside with other kids who lived nearby
and, every time you and mammon took him to town, he'd be talking to everyone
for example, when you're in the dressing room trying on a shirt while mammon and darian are waiting outside, your son would run off to talk to some cashier
thanks to his social nature, you did not expect daycare to be a problem for your child
mammon takes him there for the first time, they walk in the building all happy and smug
but, when the time comes they must part, both father and son are crying while clinging to each other
the daycare worker had to split them up
at home, mammon sulked the whole time until he got to pick his son up, only to find out he had done the same at daycare
'mc, he ain't going to daycare ever again!'
Leviathan
levi was strongly against leaving his son at daycare
but, you thought otherwise
you believed your son needed to socialise a bit more, it would be good for his development
when you told this argument to levi, he folded
he did not want his son to become a social outcast like him
levi wanted to be the one to bring henry to daycare for the first time
the little boy was nervous, but quickly warmed up to the idea of daycare
levi's concerns also melted away once he noticed his son seemed to take this change well, though he still missed his gaming buddy at home
also, levi wanted to give henry a little sibling, if it's a girl, her name will be hana
with the child out of the house, you and him have many chances to try for a second child
Satan
you both agreed your daughter would have to go to daycare at some point
you two had originally planned on starting while she was still a little baby, but that didn't end up happening
satan went to every daycare in the devildom, to pick the best one out for his daughter
he started to lose hope in finding a good place until he came along one with a big backyard
said backyard would often be visited by the cats around the neighborhood
this was the perfect place for his child, satan talked it out with you and you two agreed on letting serena go there
satan was scared serena would be sad or scared to ne somewhere without her parents, but she seemed to be calm in the new environment
when he wanted to pick her up, satan found his daughter in the backyard playing with a cat
Asmodeus
by this time, your first daughter already had a little brother and another sibling on the way (with asmo's libido, you'll be having a whole football team)
at first, you and asmo thought you could take care of your children without any help, but lately it's proven to be harder than initially thought
you two decided to leave your first and second children at daycare
asmo searched all over the devildom to find a fancy enough daycare, which he found but it was expensive, he still paid for it
because he does not want you to overwork yourself, asmo was the one to drop the children off
your daughter seemed excited to make new friends, but your son was another story
the second asmo handed him to the daycare worker, he started crying
asmo's heart broke, he tried to stay with his son but the worker kicked him out
luckily, your son was calmer when his sister was around
Beelzebub
he knew daycare would be good for his daughter, but when it came to it, he refused to hand her off to some worker
cue beel constantly slowly spinning around on his feet, to face away from the worker with lilith in his arms
she seemed to be having the time of her life, though
eventually, the worker got beel to let go of his child, but he stayed ny her side until they had to kick him out
he was not happy about that
fast forward a few years, lilith now has two younger siblings, twins, riliane and allen (still, if yk yk)
and eventually, the twins needed to go to daycare too
lilith remembered how reluctant her father was to leave her there, so she offered to stay by her brother and sister's side, that way she could protect them and beel wouldn't worry
beel has never been more proud of his little family in his life
Belphegor
belphie is very protective over his son, despite the fact that he's the reason he can't sleep some nights
therefore, he was strongly against sending his child to daycare
he didn't trust those workers there enough to keep his precious baby safe
one day, your son asked why all his friends go to daycare but he doesn't
belphie didn't want to make his child feel like he was missing out, and you were team daycare in the first place, so now he's gonna go
when belphie was about to leave him there, his son started to get scared, because he thought that his parent would come in with him
the daycare worker explained to the child it didn't work like that, and he burst out crying
belphie's protective mode kicked in, he lifted his son up and went home together
maybe he'll go some other time

Hi!! Can I request a Larissa x teacher!reader where reader has younger siblings so they understand the references, jokes, and slang that the students use so they get along well with them. Larissa hears reader talking to the students one day and is confused, but reader finds it adorable and tease Larissa a little (in the lighthearted way). Thanks!!
From Newark to Burlington #2
Hey, anon! I won't lie, I was sneaky with this one. I loved your request and thought the liveliness would go just perfect with my From Newark to Burlington reader, so I hope you don't mind I incorporated that in the part 2. It is just a tiny bit more steamy and angsty than I think you envisioned, but there is almost nothing there but lighthearted teasing and fun, so don't worry! I hope you enjoy it and thank you so much! Also, can you tell I don't know half a thing about slangs?

Larissa Weems is your new boss. Who knew that your crush could get any weirder and more complicated? Congratulations, Universe! Good one!
Being a normie teacher in a school for outcasts was too fun to be allowed. You never thought your students could give you such a good time but when a vampire kid explained the entire Russian Vampire Affair from the early 1920s in vivid detail because their "parents were there" was a treat; or when another described the burning of the meeting house in Jericho itself because they saw it in a vision, chef's kiss.
You were thrilled. Teaching those kids was the most fun you've had for a while in an academic setting. But that was not the only thing keeping your high spirits. Larissa Weems was your new boss.
Could the Universe come up with a bigger joke? How would it surprise you now? Or worst: how could it fuck you over harder than this?
It was unprofessional to fantasize about your employer, but you're sure it was also unprofessional to look that good when stopping by "just to check how things are going."
Your students thought you were afraid of the principal because every time she appeared you looked sickly pale or lost all semblance of coherence while talking. Larissa Weems made you a lusty mess, and you were not having it!
You: Can I take you up on the hot chocolate offer?
You waited a bit for a reply, but Weems was probably busy overworking herself to answer. Her contact name was still "Larissa" from when she typed it into your phone; she wasn't Larissa anymore. Now she was boss, or principal, or headmistress. It was only three weeks, but you missed the flight where she was just the stranger who ruined your jacket and slept on your shoulder.
Larissa: Please do. When would you like to meet? Is 4 p.m. ok?
Wow, replying under ten minutes! Principal Weems was wild today!
You: Perfect. I'll meet you there...
You typed and erased and typed and erased. At the end you sent:
You: Perfect. I'll meet you there, gorgeous x
Was flirting with your boss okay? It was when you didn't know each other, but now it seemed illicit and even more exciting.
She was already there when you arrived, but hadn't ordered. You slipped into the booth with a half-smile, looking up at her beautiful blue eyes.
"Hello there," she had a charming warm smile on her face, looking almost like a proud mother when their child did something kind.
I wouldn't object to calling you mommy. You thought and had to cough to hide your heating face from her.
"I took the liberty of asking for them to keep our drinks warm, they'll bring it over anytime soon," she rested her hand on top of each other on the table "So, how have you been acclimatizing? Are the students warming up to you?" she could not stop being the principal of Nevermore even while on a date. Was it a date? You counted it as one.
"They are soo much fun. I love them all," you beamed at her and a young barista came if two cups of hot chocolate with extra cream "Thank you!-"
"I must say that I was worried they'd be a bit weary of having another normie teacher after the incident of last year. We accidentally employed a radical with plans of destroying the school." she said carefully, her eyes trained on yours.
"Gee, that sound horrible. Was everyone ok?" she seemed to approve of your reaction. Was she testing you?
"One student, unfortunately, died, along with several normies hitchhiking in the proximities, but the teacher and her accomplice were emprisioned."
"I'm so sorry," you reached for her hands, caressing them in a way you hoped was comforting "I swear I don't want to kill anyone. At least while they're all behaving." you joked and immediately regretted it thinking it was too soon to make fun on something so serious, but to your delight and absolute relief, Larissa burst into a fit of laughter, breathtakingly full.
After that, it was much easier to talk. She seemed to drift to other topics instead of school, even sharing that she was almost sure you were the new teacher when you discussed your class plans on the airplane. You joked and attempted flirting a bit, feeling almost frustrated that it was so easy with everyone else but with her, it seemed like you were stepping on a bed of nails, scared she might reject you.
In the end, it was a lot of fun. You were almost sure she wanted you, even if she tried to conceal it, and your hopes were up.
It was the last class of the day and everyone was choosing their seats at the rearranged tables to form four big groups. Today your little hell-sents would recreate historical moments when outcasts advanced in their fight for acceptance in society by building dioramas. They seemed excited enough when you told them and started working as soon as each got their prompt.
About ten minutes into the class, someone politely knocked at the door. How could a knock sound polite you didn't know, but you very much knew who could be the only person to achieve that.
Larissa greeted you with a warm smile, saying she just wanted to pass by to see how everyone was acclimatising to you. Luckily, your students seemed to like you well enough, and when Principal Weems asked what they thought of you so far Enid said, "Professor l/n slays, principal"
Some other students also contributed, complimenting you on how your classes were banging compared to last year's. You didn't like to be compared but couldn't contain the smugness from being the "cool teacher"; maybe having your pest younger siblings was not so bad if you could relate to teenagers more easily.
After hearing the praises, Larissa seemed half-satisfied half-confused. You didn't realize why that was, but quickly forgot about it when she said:
"Also, I meant to ask you after our lovely outing yesterday but ended up forgetting it," she explained "Would you like to visit me later for wine? After dinner, maybe?" she seemed perfectly innocent, but her accentuated Ts and low voice made your stomach lurch nonetheless.
"Of course-" you stopped abruptly, your voice too high and certainly perking up a few students' ears "I would love too. I'll see you at dinner?"
Larissa only nodded, amused, and left you to continue the class.
The class ran smoothly after that. The dioramas were not completely finished but you allowed everyone to pick up on their work the next week, they were having fun while learning and that was all that mattered.
While your students were leaving you started packing up your own things; you would grade in your rooms since they had a more comfortable sitting arrangement. When you were finished and ready to go, you noticed four students still in the room, whispering amongst themselves by the door.
"Hey, guys. Can I help you with anything?" you smiled at the girls, Wednesday, Enid, Bianca and Yoko. Curious how they would be friends, being all so very different from each other.
Enid eyed her companions unsurely before taking a step forward, "We were just wondering... we heard you and Principal Weems talking earlier, and after you seemed very..." she fumbled for words, and Wednesday provided an end to her sentence:
"Out of sorts, in a way. Have you done anything to upset the headmistress?" she arched a brow, very to the point, that girl.
"No, why would you guys think that?"
"You just seemed very bothered, pale and breathing fast. We thought you were in trouble," Yoko provided.
While you discussed, Larissa passed by your class, assuming it was ended and no one would be there beside you, but stopped at the sound of multiple people talking about... was it her name she was hearing?
"Girls, I am not in trouble. Don't worry."
"Then why did you look upset?" Bianca jumped in, in a demanding tone you couldn't blame a siren from sporting. It was rather becoming on her, really.
You debated with yourself what to tell them. Maybe it was that you missed the twins, or maybe the madness you felt for repressing your lust for the principal, but you decided to confide in them.
"Do you really want to know?" you asked in an almost desperate tone, they seemed to thrive by the prospect of gossip and nodded vehemently "I'm just... I'm just... simpingsofuckingmuchforthatwoman" you finished in a rush.
They were quiet for a moment, you didn't know if it was shock, disgust, or just plain simple confusion.
"Called it," Wednesday said.
"What?!" you squeaked.
"I mean it was obvious..." Yoko drawled.
Were they having you on all this time? Just to get the information out of you?
"I completely understand, I mean she's so boujee with her clothes and that air about her"
While you were slowly melting to the ground, Larissa was at levels upon levels of confusion on the other side of the door. What were you talking about? Simping? Boujee? What in heaven was all that?
"How did you know?" you asked in a disbelieving voice.
"The way you look at her? How your face looses all colour? Kinda sus," Enid chirped in. Jesus, you were so obvious, weren't you? Weems probably was just having some fun with you, watching all the different expressions your panicked lusty mind painted on your face.
"Your reaction is fully understandable and supported by us," Wednesday said in her monotone, was she saying they ship you?
"Absolutely, I'm a total stan" Enid agreed.
"Yes girl, she's totally sliving it and you deserve something good, you're the coolest teacher in this school but your awkward-ass baby vibes demand a good mommy," Yoko finished.
At the end of it, you were laughing and joking about how much of a mommy she would be, and Larissa could only gather that maybe you felt intimidated by her and the girls thought you deserved someone better, softer and that didn't make you feel so nervous. She left in a haze of thoughts, thinking about how had she managed to make you uncomfortable when she had only ever tried to flirt and be approachable. Maybe her appearance was too much for you, maybe you two were never going to work because you felt you had no choice but to be responsive and flirt back. She was so very confused, she thought you had a connection but maybe she interpreted it all wrong. Well, she had certainly dealt with disappointment before, you would only add to a long list. She wasn't necessarily sad, it was almost funny actually, she'd just have to deal with the embarrassment of it.
Dinner felt charged. When you waved to the principal, she gave you a curt nod and a smile. You sat beside her to talk, maybe flirt a bit, but she only seemed dismissive of your attempts. It was as if electricity filled your veins and tensed your spine, but not in a fun way. Larissa was weirdly relaxed, almost like you hadn't gone on a date and she had invited you for drinks. She was civil enough, talking with Vlad and Persephone, but the jovial remarks and amused smirk didn't include you.
Later, when you were getting ready to go to her office, you realized your shoulders were still tense. Maybe her behaviour at dinner was she trying to tell you she thought better of it and didn't want you to come. You were almost giving up going when the girl's voices came to your mind, about how they thought your energy balanced so well and your tentative banter was the cutest (according to Enid and very much not Wednesday). If she didn't want you she might as well say it to your face, you decided and marched confidently down the corridor.
"Oh, you came," Larissa greeted you surprised after three curt knocks "I thought you wouldn't want to after all." she seemed eerily calm and polite.
"Why wouldn't I want to come?" you asked genuinely curious while following her inside.
She filled two glasses of red wine, sweet but earthy you realized, and sat on one of the chairs by the fire.
"I'm not prone to dancing around a subject," she said matter-of-factly, looking into the fire "I may have been in the past but I learned it only causes unnecessary discomfort."
You had no idea where this was going, but hey, being direct was a great trait, right?
"I heard you talking to some girls after your last class. I was going to stop by for a chat but ended up listening in."
You felt your face heating up. Had she heard you nonsensically thirsting over her to your students? Jesus Christ, that was so embarrassing. Wait, would she scold you for talking about the principal with them? It would only be fair but you thought the mortification of knowing she heard it was punishment enough, honestly.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" you felt laughter slowly rise from the nervousness "They forced me to tell them, I swear!" now you were laughing, so embarrassed you could only laugh more and by the confused and almost amused expression on Larissa's face it was not helping your case.
She wasn't taking your regret seriously, and thinking it funny wouldn't alleviate any reprimand she might give you.
"I just..." you wheezed "I just had to tell someone" you coughed, cleaning tears from your eyes. You were so desperate.
"I'm upset about it," Larissa said calmly, and that made your laughter slowly subside "But I do agree that it is a bit humorous, if not to me. It is completely fine, really, I just wish you had told me you didn't think about me that way."
She was so put together. What the fuck was she talking about, though?
"What do you mean 'didn't think about me that way'?" you frowned, tilting your head.
She seemed equally confused, "You were discussing how intimidating I was? I believe someone mentioned I was 'boujee'? and 'sliving it'?"
It didn't make any sense to you. What was she talking about? You literally confessed simping for her... unless she didn't know... what it meant?
"And what do you think it means to be those things?" you asked carefully, picking up your wine glass and sipping with an arched brow.
She frowned and accompanied the movement of your hands with her eyes when you put the glass back down.
"Because I remember saying I am a simp for you, which means I would do whatever the hell you asked me and say thank you," her eyes went wide at that, and you smirked, continuing in a lower tone "and boujee means you are so fucking stylish and screams classy mommy all over,"
"And what does sliving mean...?" Larissa replied in a whisper, taking you in with a tight swallow, her hand dropping her own glass of wine on the floor.
"It means," you started, getting up from your chair to walk toward her, silently asking for permission to come close "that you are a glamourous and powerful woman in complete control of your life and consequentially the reason I drink three liters of water a day because I'm always so fucking thursty," you finished sitting in her lap, her hands around your waist.
"How was I supposed to understand that from all the gibberish you were talking?" if ".exe stopped working" was a facial expression, that would be her at that moment and you could not keep from laughing again.
"You weren't," you chuckled, that woman was adorable "Because as I and the girls agree, you are such a mommy" you finished before kissing her with the biggest smile.
I know this was a long time coming, guys, sorry!

something about being asexual is that when you learn about that Education, you suddenly dread adulthood.
when all your peers are making those kinds of jokes, you're either uncomfortable or neutral towards it (except for the total of 4 times when you made a joke yourself and everyone was shocked and then was on the ground laughing).
then you get to adulthood and you're like this sucks.
but then no one else has a problem with it.
this is why so many of us feel like outcasts. so many of us feel like there's something wrong.
WHICH IS WHY WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THEY'RE PROUD TO BE ASEXUAL, DON'T START PRAYING AT THEM, OR CLAIM TO BE ABLE TO FIX THEM, OR TRY TO FIND SOMETHING TO "HELP"
GODD I was so happy when I found out that asexuality was a thing. I finally found a label that fit. Then people started talking at me like I was broken. Like, y'all ain't gonna fix me, all you're doing is pissing me off.
This for aromantic people too. Fuckin knock it off.

Battle
Taglist: @painful-pooch @i-eat-worlds @a-funeral-romance @rainydaywhump
Angstpril: alt prompt 1: troubled mind
Inspired by these two prompts by @hurtmyfavsthanks and an anon ask she received. I saw the more recent one and just wrote this straight up within a couple of hours, unable to resist it.
1k
CWs: living weapon, outcast whumpee, magical whumpee, low self-esteem, betrayal kinda, mentions of battle and casualties, mentioned past discrimination
Whumpee doesn't remember much of the battle.
It went by in a haze. They remember red, people falling, screams, unsure which side they were on. They remember the glee, the euphoria, of using their magic. The high of it all.
Now they're starting to come down from that high, and they can see the fear in people's eyes. The injuries, the casualties. Vaguely, they wonder who caused them. Was it them again?
Hands cup their face, gentle, calloused. The only ones that will ever touch them anymore.
Caretaker's.
"Hey. Look at me, now. Not the camp. Me." Whumpee looks up hesitantly, into their loving, warm eyes. One day they'll change. One day... one day they'll harden. Fear, hatred. From all the people they've hurt, on all sides. One day it'll be too much. They're afraid of the day they'll see that, of what will happen then.
But it hasn't happened yet.
Caretaker wipes their cheek softly. "It's okay. Come on, rest. Lay your head down. You're done for today. Close your eyes and rest."
Whumpee crawls into Caretaker's lap. They vaguely register being carried, head being lifted until it meets Caretaker's neck. Whumpee nuzzles into it.
"Shh. You did so well. You're doing so well, Whumpee. I'm proud of you."
Whumpee doesn't want to be. They want to grow flowers. But this is what their magic likes, this is what their king likes, this is what makes Caretaker say those words of praise in just that voice, so they can't stop.
(They ignore the small voice in their head that says that they have no idea what Caretaker's reaction to flowers would be. This is exhilarating, even if they feel an ever-growing bubble of shame at the endless, ruthless violence.)
Caretaker runs a hand through their hair, combing out the knots from the day's work, using a little water to clean the worst of the blood. Whumpee has been through this so many times that they know what to expect without even a glance. He won't hurt them with those eyes. They know his expression, his feelings, and they curl their arms and legs closer around him.
He's so warm.
"S'okay buddy. I'm here."
"Hmm."
Whumpee closes their eyes. It's so... so... they don't think they can sleep yet but they find themself drifting on the exhaustion the magical high always brings.
_
The next morning is... the next morning. As it always is with a new squad, it is very different to the first one.
And as it always is, Whumpee feels a sharp stab of hurt.
The soldiers know who they are, what they are. Have done since the very beginning .They've worked with Whumpee on the preparations, the journey here, for weeks. They know them. Sat around the campfire, shared meals, joked and talked and laughed. They'd been wished good luck yesterday morning, hair ruffled, smiles and reassurances in abundance. Soldier had even fixed their horse's saddle after the straps started to break. Now...
Now, they won't come within arms length of them. Soldier ladles out breakfast to the rest, leaving an empty bowl several feet from Whumpee, not looking them in the eye as he leaves them to fetch their own. He flinches along with several others as they approach the campfire, more whose hands jerk towards their swords. As if they're going to attack. As if they're so out of control that they'd attack their own side on purpose.
They reluctantly let go of Caretaker's hand so he can fetch their breakfast and the healing potion alone. At least he looks them in the eye. At least he sits with them, and talks, and touches them. Helps convince them to take the potion, even though it's bitter and rancid and no-one will improve it for the likes of them, and they won't need it once the adrenaline and euphoria of tomorrow's battle kicks in.
The kindness is only for now. It will change, sooner or later.
Nobody helps the pair of them take down their tent, or pack their saddlebags, and the Sergeant looks about to stop Whumpee from replacing the emergency set of daggers they carry in their boots at all times. A gift from Caretaker.
It's like they have the plague. Or the Devil's Touch, as their old villagers used to say.
They're pretty much alone in the clearing now, the rest of the squad staying as far away as they can without letting Whumpee out of their sight. Just in case they explode or something.
Without a word, Whumpee settles down on the ground beside the smoldering fire, Caretaker sitting on the log behind them. It's a sharply cold morning, dew dampening their breeches, but their leather armour keeps them surprisingly warm.
Caretaker braids their hair quickly and simply, just enough to keep it out of their face. Battlefields aren't the place for complicated hairstyles. Which is a shame, because Caretaker takes pride in that skill, and Whumpee delights in being allowed to display the results.
Whumpee dries their face with the cloth Caretaker hands them wordlessly. They need to get it together. It's not like it's the end of the world or anything. They try to summon the ease by which they sometimes prepare, the eagerness instead of dread that comes with a lot of battles.
It doesn't come. Today is a day for dread, then, and there's nothing they can do about it but pray for a miracle. And a break in the hatred and fear, the violence with which everyone rejects them.
They can't help thinking, though, that the amount of damage they've done, it's no wonder people want them locked away. They are a weapon, after all.
Yes. Definitely one of the bad days.
Caretaker's their handler. They try not to think about it but it's true. He's the only one who might see it, might offer them a brief reprieve. So they summon up all their courage.
"Please..."
Caretaker finishes the braid and kisses their temple. "I'm so sorry, Whumpee. I really am. But you need to do this. We need to do this. The kingdom needs you."
Whumpee nods. They don't blame Caretaker, not really. They need to win this war. And Whumpee needs to use their magic.
But gods do they wish they could stop.

Link to Part 1
Your return:
After being out for 1 1/2 months, you were finally given the green light to return to the ring
Even though it was less than 2 months, it felt like two years of being away from the ring
Arriving at the arena, you decide to surprise everyone; so you went straight to a private locker and changed into your gear
For your return, you either run out and help a talent going against the Outcasts or a heel tag team (think of Willow helping Skye Blue or Rodrick Strong helping Adam Cole)
Or you answer an open challenge from a person (male or female) and win the match to the crowd cheering and chanting your name (or make up your own, it’s your world)
When you get backstage, you were met with a smile from your boyfriend and or best friend
Dante Martin:
Tumblr media
AGAIN THIS MAN IS A BABY
He’s feelin a bit bittersweet
It was nice to have someone with him while he was on the shelf; he didn’t feel lonely
But now he feels like gonna be back to square 1
Until you ran up and gave him a big hug (still being mindful of his leg)
You let him know that he never getting rid of you and you’ll always be his person
He smiles and says “Well 1 1/2 person is better than just 1” (get it? Cause he’s still injured so he’s the 1/2 per-)
Posts you on Instagram saying how proud he is of you
Hook:
Tumblr media
Mans smiling from ear to ear backstage
Gladly picks you up while hugging you
“You’re gonna kill it. I know it”
Still keeps asking you how you feel about your shoulder
Mans wouldn’t say anything to anyone, but everyone could see how happy he is
I think depending on how your return goes, he would go out and establish an on-screen “friendship”
Would definitely celebrate with you afterward
Like Dante, he would definitely post a picture of you in his signature black-and-white scheme
MJF:
Tumblr media
Posts a tweet confirming your return even though you didn’t tell him (he bribed the doctor to tell him the news)
Cuts a promo and references you
“My best friend/significant other is back, better than ever, better than you, and you know it.”
Will take all the credit for you getting better (to which you throw a shoe at him)
After congratulating you for making your return, he goes right back to roasting you on Twitter and on commentary
Is just pleased that you’re in a healthy position
Is very happy that you’re back and will try to figure out how to get you two in a storyline
If you say no, he will start some drama (will take back the scarf he made)
Eddie Kingston:
Tumblr media
Is EXCITED to see you back; again runs around with his head cut off
Makes a small tweet about you
“Hey @Y/N, nice to see you back…now pay me for taking care of your fragile ass dawg.”
Will still be careful when imitating physical contact (hugs and etc.)
Continues to do almost everything for you out of habit
But he'll say it's because you're still depend it on him (to which you hit up side his head)
Like MJF, he will reference you in a promo (but will actually praise you for your durability and fearlessness)
Playfully will hold this over your head and says that you owe him if he gets injured
Ricky Starks:
Tumblr media
You couldn’t keep the secret and told him that you were returning the minute you found out
Somehow, he managed to pull strings to get you involved with his storyline
He says it’s because he really just wanna work with you
But you know it’s because he wants to keep an eye on you (and to get even closer to you)
“It’s because you’re a child and I need to look after you.”
Still has a lot of your stuff on standby just in case something happens (always check on you to make sure that you’re comfortable)
Hangs your bedazzled cast/brace up in your living room
Daniel Garcia:
Tumblr media
Daniel had a match after your return match/segment
MANS WAS DANCING IN THE RING TO CELEBRATE
And dancing at the club (just look at Isiah’s last vlog)
Will drag you on what he calls a “comeback tour”; and if you thought he was acting up when you were injured, wait until now
“Dude, it’s only 2 AM…why are you trying to go to sleep?” “-_-“
Is happy that you’re relationship/friendship was strengthened
Now that you are on the road, you were made his permanent road buddy (especially with Isiah being out of action)
“Zay, don’t blame me…blame Y/N, they insisted that I replace you because they have no friends”
Kenny Omega:
Tumblr media
(side note; i need another kenny gif cause this one is causing me to gain more feelings for this man)
THIS MAN WOULD BE HAPPIEST TO SAY THE LEAST
When you first appeared and the crowd roared, a smile grew on his face
Was training with you up til you returned (you had to tell him cause essentially he is your boss)
Hugged you tightly and frequently checked up on your shoulder throughout the convo
He’s still scared that you’re not 100 percent
You: Kenny, you don’t need to keep checking on me
Kenny: Yeah, but- I think I see your bone poking through…Are you a zombie?
Will perform your signature move as a nod to your relationship
Does it all with a smile

It's a little sad how when talking about paternal figures in Cellbit's life, no one really seems to mention Foolish, his actual father-in-law, like how they mention Bad or Phil. I know being a father-in-law and being a real father are two different things, but if you're looking for someone who gives him advice and is willing to tell Cellbit he's proud of him — Foolish fits the description perfectly.
Foolish has always been there when Cellbit needed someone to back him up, especially during the castle building arc when the majority of the server regarded Cellbit as a traitor. That was even before Cellbit married Roier and they became official family. Just recently, before Purgatory started, Cellbit found the book Foolish left him that essentially said "I'm always here for you no matter what."
Foolish completely regards Cellbit as family. He even put the job he worked for months towards on the line by covering for Cellbit's part in the serial murders he was meant to be investigating. Foolish worked tirelessly for that position nearly since he first arrived on the island and pushed other residents away to the point that he now feels like an outcast or "other," but was going to throw it all away if it meant keeping Cellbit safe.
I feel like a lot of people disregard their relationship because in media the "evil in-laws" trope is so popular; but in real life plenty of people are extremely close with their parental in-laws. Especially if they have a negative or non-existent bond with their actual parents. Considering Cellbit didn't really have a parental figure growing up (minus Bad being there during his Hunger Games years), I feel like the sentiment fits him pretty well.
tldr; qFoolish is the #1 qCellbit supporter and always has been

how stupid.
↳ ❝ Regardless of everyone telling you how Neteyam felt, you didn't believe it. It was hard to grasp, really. Neteyam was, well, Neteyam, and you were just you. Friends. That's all you would be. And you were okay with that. ❞

Angst hour because I made myself cry with this one 🥲 Also, this is not Moon hate or anything like that. Moon is just a convenient vessel for the means of this plot.
So best friend!Reader who has known Eli and Demetri since forever and she's shy, chubby, deemed an outcast for those reasons and more. She fits in great with the nerds and such. She fell for Eli a long time ago, but when he Eli flips the script and becomes Hawk, he's super confident and cool, and Reader admires him even more for it. She falls harder.
One day he comes up and asks her for advice on what kind of date to plan if he wants to ask our a girl. He tells her all of these ideas and she tells him hers, it's cute and she's super giggly. He likes her ideas and says he's going to plan the "moat perfect date ever" thanks to her.
Her heart gets a little ahead of her head and she think he's going to ask her out. She gushes to Demetri about it, super excited. He's happy for her, being the only person she's ever shared her deep, personal feelings with.
When the day comes that Hawk has planned to go through with the plan, Reader gets a little dressed up. It's nothing fancy, but it's a level above what she'd usually wear. She feels so confident and happy, but that all changes when she gets to school.
Hawk approaches her, a little nervous, but she tells him he can do anything. "You're the Hawk after all, right?"
She giggles and he smiles. He's got the boost of confidence he needs. "Thanks, Reader. I always know I can count on you. You're a really great friend."
Before Reader can respond, his whole demeanor changes. He stands a little straighter and puffs out his chest. She feels a little warmth rush to her cheeks, but it quickly turns to embarrassment.
"There she is," he says and nods to someone behind her.
She turns and sees Moon, the prettiest girl in school. Undeniably so. She has the perfect smile and laugh and radiance.
Reader feels her heart break a little. Her smile falters, but she pulls it back into place as she is faced with her best friend again.
"I'm gonna go over there and talk to her. Wish me luck," he says and she nods. She mumbles a small 'good luck' as he pats her arm and walks by. Before he completely crosses the hall, he turns and flashes her a smile. "You look great today, by the way. Totally badass."
She smiles back, but he doesn't see how plastic and fake it is because he's quick to turn forward again.
Reader slips away before she has to see him ask out another girl as tears prick her eyes. She ends up in the bathroom and cries, cries so hard she pukes and has to go home sick.
Later that day, Hawk and Demetri are hanging out when Hawk shares the good news.
"I have a date this Friday!" he says triumphantly. He's so genuinely proud of where he's managed to get himself, from shy and low rate loser to confident and tough. "It's gonna be totally awesome!"
Demetri speaks before he thinks. "That's great. Now I don't have to listen to Reader go on and on about it. She's been so excited about it all week."
He says it in a jokey manner, never bothered by Reader's feelings when she needs to let them out. He's her confidant after all.
But Hawk stops and looks at him, smiles all gone as he stares in confusion. "What did you just say?"
Demetri realizes almost immediately that he's screwed up. He tries to back track, poorly. "What do you mean?"
"Reader, you said she was excited," Hawk restates. "Why would she be excited? You said it like she's the one I'm going out with"
"Um, well... she kind of thought you were going to ask her out."
"I asked out Moon. I asked Reader to help me plan the date, ya know to get a girl's perspective and stuff. Why would I ask her for her if I were asking her out?"
"She thought it was one of those things where you were trying to get ideas of what her 'perfect first date' would be like... but now I see how skewed that thinking is..."
"Oh shit."
Hawk puts his head in his hands as he remembers Reader and her new little outfit, the smile on her face when he saw her that morning and the way her voice got small and shy when she wished him luck on asking out Moon. It all made sense, but he didn't want it to.
"Are you telling me that this whole time she's been telling me all these date ideas that she's been expecting me to ask her out?"
"...yeah..."
"And you didn't tell me?"
"I thought she knew what she was talking about. I thought that you two were a for sure thing. I didn't know Moon was a part of the equation."
"Have you talked to her?"
"No."
Both boys reach for their phones. Demetri's is full of text after text from Reader while Hawk's is empty.
As Demetri scrolls through the paragraphs of "I'm so stupid for thinking he could like me," he frowns. Reader had never been the most confident. Bullies tore her down left and right until she was just a meek fat girl with low self esteem. The one time she let herself feel good about herself was because someone she cared for was making her happy, and then he'd unintentionally crushed it.
Hawk is sitting beside him, drafting up a similarly long text to Reader about how sorry he about the whole misunderstanding. But Demetri stops him with a "I don't think that's going to help."
And all Hawk can do is sit there, knowing whatever he says won't be enough, and all he can ask himself is what has he done?

Lessons from my Anime Phase
Many years ago, before I matured into my spiritual journey, this used to be an anime blog. I don't regret this phase of my life, even though I completely outgrew it, because I believe it taught me something important.
The content of a creation is more important than the form. There is anime (sadly not as many as you would think) that is a good piece of art. There are regular movies that suck. These years taught me to look deep beyond the surface form and into the meaning of any creation. I'm still waiting for a movie as good at depicting the power of wishful thinking and self repression as Perfect Blue.
Supressing one's emotions leads to serious repercussions. One of the reasons some people find anime so weird is because it is literally an outlet for the collective mentality and emotionality of Japanese societal pressure. It feels exaggerated, but it is a reaction to the external forced numbness and politeness the Japanese society is plagued with. If you don't deal with how you feel regularly and don't express it and process it, if you don't make friends with your demons, you keep bubbling like a cauldron. It leads to having a very edgy, very draining life, not being present with yourself. It leads to not being able to function and ultimately making simple things feel like the end of the world.
Getting older is awesome. I would never come back to my past. Every morning felt like torture. Sometimes, even if life is never perfect, it moves you on in simpler ways that allow for balance. Establishment of healthy routines does wonders for mental peace. The Universe putting you in an environment where you can do that, after years of having that taken away from you, feels blissful. With time comes perspective and you can see your life shaping up and taking you somewhere. That allows you to approach the rest of your life with the same philosophy. I can read this post another 10 years into the future, and think wow, my life got even better. But at least now I am relaxed about it and don't overthink how every tiny little thing can go and I don't try to control or micromanage the future.
Youth is overrated. Hottness is overrated. Very few people really get to enjoy being young and hot, and those that do, are probably on Youtube's most watched list now. Being young and hot only pays off if you happen to be an artist, you're in a good film, or you're lucky enough to be in a music video. With those things, you build a legacy you will have forever. But most young women spend their youth and beauty on dating guys they wish they could forget in their 30s. At least I can say I spent it on spiritual growth, which I am really proud of. I was younger and "hotter" once, but paradoxically I feel like I'm becoming more beautiful. I had absolutely no benefits from being young and hot. I had no good relationships and everyone irl always criticized me for breathing. I never felt attractive. My highlights were compliments from my online friends, because noone around me actually thought well of me in my physical life. I'm married now, but this is my first serious adult relationship. I didn't have any good relationships that really appreciated my looks back then. So whatever has passed, hasn't really been used anyway. I was very insecure because I lived surrounded by unfair criticism from many people, who should have been supporting me but betrayed me. Maybe some people have fun in their youth, I honestly didn't. Moving away from all the people that made my youth something I'm glad to put behind me was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Being different growing up is hell for everybody, no matter what form it takes. Being an outcast is probably the number one debilitating thing that makes youth difficult. You have no role models, you have no support, you endure extra pressure. But over time, even those that are different end up finding their place, and they realise they were just different to people around them in their early environment, but they're not that different from the rest of the world.

Lithuania: Oh, Giedrė would love this salad.
Czech: Who's Giedrė?
Lithuania: ...my 7th wife.
Czech:
Hungary: Your what
Germany: But I don't remember anyone from us having such a name?? Do we have a new state? I'm not teaching you, but don't you think it's a bit weird to marry a micronation for an old state like you?..
Lithuania: *sigh* She was mortal.
Everyone at the lunch table:
Ireland: Wait, wait, let me guess it - your 7th wife was mortal? Just like all the previous ones?
Lithuania:
Belgium: Jesus Christ.
Italy: Looks like someone forgot to tell him that having a relationship with mortals is a moveton in our little community...
Scotland: Lmao, I knew that guy never gave up on polygamy.
Lithuania, smiling with hidden irritation: I am sure we have more interesting topics to talk about than my 12 mortal wives, who were NOT married on me all at the same time, God rest their souls.
England: I agr-
France: NO, WE DON'T! I NEED to know everything about your 12 mortal wives, my dear Lituanie, right now!
Greece: Yeah, I'm also interested, like, dude, why did you decide that marrying mortals so many times is gonna be a good idea? At least you could have just making them your lovers, nothing more, why to put so much effort
France: You know that we can't have human children anyway :P
England: No one asked your opinion, orgies organizer
France: You're not a saint either, Mr. Le Bordel🖕🖕🖕
Lithuania: At first, I did that not out of romantic feelings and absolutely nor for sex. Poland had demanded that I must have married him in order to establish Commonwealth better. Although the pact was already legal, I wasn't ready for that, especially considering that the Catholic Church doesn't allow divorce... I didn't want to lose my independence completely, I didn't want to kill Poland to break the possible marriage because that would be really gross, considering that it was me who came to Poland first, I've lost Ruthenia and Smalensk by my own stupidity. Being on the peak of my power, I've fallen down like Lucifer. The day before, I was an empire, and the next day, I was nothing but a colony. I was miserable, and I had no right to complain. But one day, a woman approached me in a pub and asked me half-jokingly: "Doesn't your mother need a daughter-in-law?" And then it dawned on me. "Actually, she does," I answered. We got married the next day. The problem was delayed because, thankfully, Catholicism can't stand polygamy.
Lithuania: I can't say I've fallen in love with Milda at first sight, but she made my life less miserable.
Sweden: And she never questioned why her husband never got old?
Lithuania: Well, she never complained. 😆 As well as the others... *blushes a little*
Liechtenstein: I suppose it hurt when she died...
Lithuania: It always hurts when someone who lives in your heart dies. At least, she was gone with peace. I made sure she was buried properly.
Lithuania: That's when I've realised I didn't want to come to the empty house for eternity.
Lithuania: Later, I've usually tried to marry widows or single mothers: someone who was the outcast for society and who wasn't really able to protect themselves. I've thought it was not fair. After all, I can't just wander around like a ghost, if I am the personification of my people, at least I could have tried to make someone’s life a bit easier. To some extent, I perceived it as a sacrifice for Milda.
Japan: I'd say you have a fetish if only what you're telling didn't sound so sad.
Bulgaria: At least, the children could be proud of their vampire step-father! :D
Romania: Bulgaria, shut up. Just the mention of vampires makes me sick.
Finland: If you watched your wife dying every time, no wonder you seemed so depressed.🫂
Lithuania: 🫂
Lithuania: So I've come through the Commonwealth partition and russian empire, but the tradition remained.
Everyone: *silence, many have watery eyes*
France: 😭😭😭
England: You're the weirdest freak of Europe. After France. No offence.
France: Ugh, what can a cold-heart like you know about the pain of true love loss😭😤😡 This man's married 12 TIMES! TO MORTALS! You could never.
Lithuania: Well, sex was also nice.
Czech: Ew.
Greece: Now that's our guy🤌🤌🤌🤌
Latvia, completely unimpressed: Well, if to be accurate, 13 times if to count his marriage with his sister.
Lithuania: It was PURELY POLITICAL, SHORT-LASTING and it was A SHAM MARRIAGE, to receive funding from the Vatican and save our land from Teutonic Order invasions, you little shit💢 I've never felt anything more than platonic respect to her
France: I NEED DETAILS!!! :D
Bulgaria: A little bit of Monica in my liiife, a little bit of Erica by my siiiide
Latvia: A little bit of Rita's all I need, a little bit of Tina's what I see
Bulgaria: A little bit of Sandra in the sun, a little bit of Mary all night long
Latvia: A little bit of Jessica, here I am, a little bit of you
Together: makes me your man!!
Lithuania: I'm going home.
