Description: Devon is haunted by the realization that the Joker may still be alive.

Devon’s Abilities: Trained in hand-to-hand combat and is trained to use most weapons

Everything is fuzzy. The sound. The touch. The taste. My vision starts to focus and I see a figure on the floor made of red, green, yellow, and black. I try to get up but I can’t move, my limbs are strapped down. A taste of metal becomes more evident in my mouth but I swallow it down as I realize I’ve been captured.

A dark figure with a red head moves. I blink violently trying to tell who this figure is and assess the situation. Laughs and wheezes echo throughout the room. Oh no. Oh god.

The figure removes his helmet, revealing his green hair and pale face. I close my eyes trying to center myself and make a plan. The ropes won’t loosen with my force so I retaliate with screams of anger.

He laughs and tilts his head; my eyes focus on a crowbar in his hand. He steps closer and I spit out the metallic taste, splattering red on his face. His pale hand wipes it across his face emphasizing his smile. Chuckles escape him as I attempt to release myself again. “Don’t you want to pull a joke on your old man?” He places a hand on my waist.

I resist the shutter that is fighting to release from my body. His ‘jokes’ aren’t quite to my taste. I was there to experience the aftermath of what happened to Babs.

His cold, dry hands grab my throat firmly. I grit my teeth, trying to stop them from chattering. Two of the chair legs lift from the floor. “You’ll be a part of it either way.”

Strangulation isn’t the best for oxygen circulation. Trying to escape from my binds is of no use. Everything sharp has been taken from my suit and it’s tied so tightly that I can barely feel my hands. Breathing no longer becomes an option and everything is starting to go out of focus again. Black spots appear in my vision.

“HEY!” a new voice erupts. “What type of pussy hurts a girl when she can’t defend herself?”

The clown’s laughs halt like he’s thinking of a comeback. My head feels like a cloud. He turns, letting me go. The chair slams into the concrete, rocking me back and forth. Coughing erupts as I attempt to breathe again. The Joker walks away from me to the form that’s growing clear to me as the black spots in my vision fade.

“That isn’t funny…” his voice has grown deep, “… but do you wanna know what is?” His smile grows unnaturally wide. The Joker lifts his crowbar. I scream when I hear a crack.

“Devon,” Kara’s voice breaks through my thoughts.

“He’s after me,” my voice is firm, too firm. I have to keep myself together. I turn to her.

Her face is full of confusion. “What?” she breathes.

“I saw him, on a rooftop,” I allow a heavy pause as I gather my thoughts. “The Joker,” I force out.

Clark steps out of his office. His face turns serious as he looks at me then Kara.

“He was wearing what he wore when he captured Jason and me,” I explain. “I know what I saw.” I wish I didn’t.

Clark frowns. “We need to get to the cave and tell them.” He breathes out harshly. “Kara, pick them up.” Before I can say a word wind is blowing in my face. Instinctually I turn into her chest, the feeling of weightlessness makes me nauseous. The sound of the wind echoing tells me we’re almost there and so do the blaring alarms.

“What the hell Superman?” Batman growls. He furiously types at the computer trying to silence the alarms. Tim butts in and turns them off. “What was the purpose of that, it takes two seconds to turn that shit off now I have to alert everyone everything is alright. You should know better than to show up una..”

“Bruce,” Clark’s voice booms and echoes through the cave. The Kryptonian turns to me, everyone else follows suit.

“He’s back,” I inhale. “The Joker.”

The energy in the room changes distinctly. It was once full of frustration and maybe even confusion but now… The blood vanishes from my father’s face as he looks to Clark for confirmation. His face hardens. Tim pauses then stops typing entirely and stares at me. Fear is written all over his face.

Jason’s death was not the last time we had all seen the Joker but Damian has never had the “pleasure” to be face to face with him in the year he’s been Robin. We all thought he was dead. We thought he went out with a bang and laugh, killing several hundred people in the process. Except for Bruce. He was convinced for months that he was still alive. He searched during that time but once Damian came around he stopped.

“Are you sure?” Damian’s voice pierces, like a spear through the head. Painful, surprisingly quick.

The Batman snaps his head around and gives Damian an unapproving look. Damian is still the master at trying to undermine everyone. He questions everyone’s judgment and everyone’s skills, especially mine. Since in his mind I’m the first born.

Nightwing’s face appears on the screen. His domino eyes are squinting. “Batman, report in, is there a breach?”

The bat turns to the screen.“False alarm, Nightwing. Code Green, I need you to come in. I’ll explain everything when you arrive.” Nightwing’s white eyes widen. His mouth opens to say something but instead, he nods and the screen goes black. “Drake, connect to all who were alerted to a breach.”

Tim nods, presses a few buttons, and looks to Batman. The bat presses his finger to his ear. “Anyone and everyone listening, this is a Code Green. Report immediately on the secure channel, you know where to meet.” He removes his finger from the side of his head and turns, telling Tim to turn off Batman’s comm and listen for responses. “I appreciate you for bringing in Black Bat and keeping them safe but we have work to do.”

I never understood, why he was so particular about which heroes operated on Gotham-related missions. He refused their help even when he was looking for The Joker after Jason’s death. The one and only exception he’s ever made was when he arrived at the recently exploded warehouse that Jason died in. But that wasn’t even in Gotham.

Kara turns to me, putting her hand on my face. I raise my hand to it. “I’ll be ok. I promise,” I smile. We both know I’m lying, nothing about this is going to be ok. “Go. I’ll keep you updated.”

Her eyebrows tense like when she’s determined to do something but then she breathes out. “Say the word and I’ll be there,” there’s something in her voice that kills me. She gives me a worried look as I remove her hand from my face. Then she peeks around me and makes eye contact with Drake. He’s speaking to Batwoman on comms but nods in response and she nods back like they’ve made a deal. They’ve probably talked about the potential of this situation and the best way to deal with me. Or at the very least Tim promised to keep Kara updated. I hold her hand and kiss her before she lets go and flies away.

I’ve taken a seat at the kitchen table in the upper part of the cave, just trying to get my thoughts together. I’ve already changed into my suit and am just waiting for the others to arrive. Damian looms in his usual spot not too far from me. The Batman is pacing around trying to come up with a plan. Tim is sitting next to me eating a poptart and drinking his usual coffee. He raises the second pop tart, offering it to me but I decline. I know if I eat it I might as well hover over the trash can waiting for it to return.

Damian’s had to have been silently standing there for fifteen minutes. Couldn’t he be a human being for fifteen minutes? He’s just standing and staring at our father waiting for orders. “Damian, I swear to god if you don’t take a seat,” I finally snap. He glares at me for a moment then walks over. He grabs my chair and pulls it back causing two of the legs to hover for a split second then slam back down. My breath hitches. He then pulls up a chair but before he can even sit down I’m standing and slamming my hands on the table.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I can hear the laughter start to flood my senses but I know it’s not real. I blink hard. Doesn’t he understand what this means? Doesn’t he of all people understand what it’s like to have to live your worst nightmare? I look at Damian and see an all-too-familiar costume. I have to remind myself that I’m in the cave. “I have been nothing but kind and caring towards you and you’re choosing to be a brat when I can’t fucking…” My voice cracks, and I can feel my body start to shake. I put my weight on my prosthetic leg, afraid that I am going to buckle to the floor. Blood is dripping down Damian’s face. His eyes are dead. I lean on the table for more support, almost as if it’s going to save me from him. Cold hands grasp around my throat and the sound of metal hitting bone and flesh loops in my head.

A hand is placed on my shoulder. I flinch but the touch is safe and warm. I can feel my hands are on a table and I feel my brother's thumb rubbing my face.

“Dev,” he says. “You need to take a breath.” He grabs one of my hands and puts it on his chest and takes a large breath. I follow his actions and attempt to breathe myself. I’m safe. I’m in the cave, with my brothers. Jason is long dead but the rest of us are safe.

Synopsis:

The Princess of Noreska, the heir to one of the most powerful thrones in the world. Know for her beauty, elegance, and grace. Little do they know she is one of the most stubborn, unladylike princesses anyone has ever met. But, for some reason, her guard loves that about her, a grave mistake for the both of them. But what happens when she is going to debut into society and soon to be married? Especially when tension is already high with reports of anarchy to the crown.

The princess sleeps uneasily as she is halfway onto a bed, while her lower body is tucked into her chair.

Her hand was interwoven with her guard’s as he lay still on his bed. He has cut marks across his face and under his clothes, scars and stitches littered his body.

The fight against the League of Assassins was not tipped in his favor, especially as he wore no armor.

The princess tilted her head so she could look at Jason. He hasn’t woken in two days and the princess hasn’t slept during that painful period.

While Jason lay unconscious, the princess was in distress. She could barely eat or look anyone in the eye. The horrors of watching Jason the other night plagued her mind.

After the incident, Knight Wayne and Grayson were called back by Tim and all three were broken by Jason’s ailments.

They each took turns staying with Jason, even if the princess were there.

When the smaller princess found out about Jason, S/N was quick to try and console Y/N, but her parents were not as kind. They were ready to retire Jason and hire a new guard for Y/N.

The princess had a bloody argument with her parents over the topic of a new guard and she almost lost the fight, but the princess won the argument by throwing the marriage at her parents’ face.

She said, if they got her a new guard, then she would call off the engagement. Her father had a rebuttal saying that it was arranged and that she could not get out of it.

Y/N then said back that she will tell the prince that she was pregnant, and she knew that the Jacobs would call off the engagement indefinitely, while making her unable to marry anyone after that, ever.

The princess was happy with her win against her parents, but as she was alone, she then thought about what she said.

The princess knew what lengths she would go for Jason, and she wasn't afraid to cross them, but as she placed a hand on her stomach, her heart was fluttering in her chest.

She never truly thought about the future, but the thought of having a future with Jason was exhilarating.

She always cursed being with someone she didn’t love, but she never thought about being with someone she did love.

And, the thought about having a life with Jason made her happier than she ever felt in her life.

The mere thought of having a family with Jason made her knees buckle with a gleaming smile on her face.

The thought of seeing Jason happy and safe, while being able to love him endlessly, with no worries, made her want to jump in excitement.

But, all of that fell away as soon as she saw Prince Devon. She came back to her senses immediately.

Especially now, as she sat in front of the prince at the dinner table.

No one spoke of the incident of two days ago, and no one asked for details as they heard of Jason’s injuries and heard the princess’ screams.

The King cleared his throat as he brought the attention back to him, “They were thinking of postponing the festival, in light of recent events.” He said as he took a sip of wine.

Queen Edlyn sat up, “Festival?”

The princess’ mother was happy to give more information, “Yes, the festival. It is a yearly tradition. It is hosted by us to show the greatest talents our country has to offer. This is cooking, dancing, singing, and for the economy to have a greater influx. Our small businesses greatly appreciate the extra funds and 5/7 times they get to expand their business.”

The King spoke again, “Yes, it is also a time for us to get to know our citizens better, since we hold a ball for all statuses, and it will also be a time for us to announce the engagement.”

The princess looked up from her plate in a frenzy.

“I am very excited to share the news of my love and I getting together in this union.” Prince Devon spoke happily.

Y/N felt sick.

“Are you excited?” The prince asked her suddenly.

She looked up at him. No, she was not in any form excited, but she put on a brave face, “Yes, I am excited,” for the festival. She smiled.

The prince relaxed. “Once we are married, you will not need to worry your little head over anything, although you probably don’t know enough to worry about anything.” The table laughed, all but Y/N and S/N.

The princess walked down the empty corridors without a guard, she knew Dick was temporarily her guard, but she lost him in the course of 60 seconds.

She just wanted to be alone, to clear her head.

She walked the moonlit hallway as she wrapped her arms around herself, wishing Jason was here.

He would know what to do. He would know how to lighten the mood. He would know how to make her happy.

Only Jason makes her happy. Only Jason.

That’s why she wasn’t surprised to find herself in front of Jason’s closed door.

She stopped silently as her arms were still wrapped tightly around herself.

She’s been putting on a brave face for everyone. She wanted to show the world how strong she was. How strong she was with her emotions, her feelings, and her life.

But, someone can only take so much.

Especially when they are alone.

And, she felt so alone.

Her shoulders shook and she began to gasp for air. She hiccuped as spit clouded her breathing and her vision blurred.

She tightened her arms as her fingers dug into her sides. She battled against herself as one half was clawing itself out of her, while her other half was trying to stay strong.

She let out a whimper as she bit her lip to stop herself from crying.

She was trying so hard.

But, failing.

Her arms fell from her and she opened and closed the door behind her to Jason’s room quickly.

It lay dormant as no one lit a candle for Jason, knowing he wouldn’t wake.

That’s when she fell apart.

No one thought he would wake up.

She let out a heartbreaking cry as she fell to her knees and sobbed endlessly.

She was so distraught, that she didn’t hear her name being called and the arms that were wrapping around her.

Except, those who surrounded her were there for her, not because of their duty. They were there because they cared about her.

They were there because they were worried about her. They were there not for duty, but because they love her.

“Y/N, stop please!” Dick's voice cracked as he shook the princess. Tim was on her other side as tears were streaming down his face too.

“Y/N, we are here!” Bruce said as he patted her back as her tears didn’t stop.

All four of them were in ruins as Jason lay unconscious.

Jason connected them all, and all of them loved each other, more than anyone could ever describe in words.

The four of them sat in a circle in the empty library. Only a single candlestick flickers between their despairing faces as half of their faces lay hidden in the shadows.

There was no moon out as it seemed to be also sad of Jason’s state and hid behind the clouds.

They pulled together chairs and couches as they congregated around one another. The princess was curled up on the couch with her sitting up and her knee brought up to support her chin. Her dress was long enough that it lay hanging off the couch.

Dick sat in a similar fashion while Tim sat cross-legged and Bruce sat up correctly.

No one spoke a word as the princess’ earlier tears were still heavy in the air.

Bruce let out a long breath, preparing himself, “Princess, I am no means a counselor, but I do know that we should talk.”

The princess made no moves of listening as her eyes danced with the single flame.

Tim took notice, “Princess, I-we all think that you should tell us about that night.”

The princess didn’t nod or speak. Her eyes still lidded with the flame.

It was silent.

There was no wind or sounds of animals outside.

The only sounds were their breathing and their echoing heartbeats.

“I have never been so scared in my life,” Y/N said softly. She sounded distant and not real.

Everyone nodded.

“But, I wasn’t scared for myself.”

Silence.

“I was terrified for Jason.”

Silence.

She didn’t speak.

Dick spoke up, “So, can you tell us what happened specifically? Maybe we can find some clues.” He urged.

The princess sighed as she thought of the night before.

Jason was breathing hard as he watched the assassins stalk into the room.

“Princess run!” Jason yelled as he pushed her back to the door.

“I’m not leaving you!” The princess yelled back as Jason continued to try and push her back.

The assassins started to circle them as Jason reached for his sword, but he grabbed air.

A rush of ice coated his insides as he realized how unprepared he was.

He was her guard. He was supposed to be always ready and always ready to protect her, but here he was. With nothing.

Jason looked around the room and then spotted the decor swords above the mantle. The swords were crossed in an “X” behind a crested shield.

The princess followed his gaze and understood.

As the assassins crept closer with their katana’s raised, ready for blood, the guard and the princess exploded. They ran for the swords as they chased.

Jason jumped up and grabbed one handle of the swords and brought it down.

The assassins jumped back as Jason unlocked a sword from the shield, while the other one was given to the princess.

The swords belonging to the heir and her knight were gleaming in the night light as the five assassins waited for their move.

Jason watched from the corner of his eye at his princess, she didn’t seem nervous but prepared to take on her enemy.

Jason smiled as he sprung from his place by the eldest daughter of F/N and took on the closet assassin. He took on three while the last one took on the princess. The fifth assassin jumped back to the balcony, most likely trying to keep a lookout.

Jason was much more skilled with his blade than the princess, but she was a quick study and was able to keep up with the assassin’s quick blows.

When one league member noticed how their comrade began to lose their battle with the princess, they then jumped over to help.

Jason gritted his teeth as he began to worry about Y/N.

He taught her much, but not how to take on two enemies. She didn’t know how to coordinate between the two.

Jason hit a katana and took the opportunity of the split-second delay in the assassin’s movement and brought his leg up and kicked the other in the chest.

They let out a yell and rolled back as the other assassin brought their sword down on Jason.

He blocked as sparks of their swords flew into the air and copied his movement from earlier and kicked them.

Jason turned to help the princess to see her barely keeping up. She was beginning to tire as the assassins were relentless in their precise attacks.

Jason then put his sword in the middle of the fight as he cut in.

“We have to get out of here,” Jason said to Y/N.

Y/N was gasping for air as she wasn’t used to this much exertion of energy. She nodded, understanding that they needed to get out.

As Jason was trying to predict the assassin's attack, the other two he kicked came back in a fury, ready to take a piece out of Jason.

The guard cursed under his breath as the assassins surrounded them.

He then looked down at the princess, but instead of seeing her ready to fight, she was looking up at him with fear.

Utter and undeniable fear.

Jason then leaned down and gripped her hand holding her sword, she then felt his fingers reach into her palm and take her blade out of her hand.

She opened her mouth to protest, but Jason made no notion of listening.

“Run when I tell you.” He said as his eyes were filled with pain, sorrow, and regret.

Y/N wanted to tell him no, and that she should help. But, if she were to do that, then both of them would die in vain.

At least, if she left, then Jason may live as she went to get help.

She did a curt nod and Jason stepped in front of her with two swords, held in each hand. He was breathing hard as adrenaline coursed through his veins.

He was not going to let anyone touch the princess. He would never let someone hurt her. He didn’t know what lengths he had to go, but as long as he is alive, no one will hurt her.

“Now.” He whispered as he leaped forward with both swords drawn. The princess then took the opportunity to run for the door, determined to get help.

But, as her fingers wrapped around the golden doorknob, she felt a leather band snap around her ankle and she was being pulled to the ground.

She let out a scream as she fell to the ground and was dragged by a whip to one of the assassins.

The guard screamed her name as Jason was distraught over the princess. She was so close to being free, but as Jason looked back at his attacker, it was too late.

The silver katana was through Jason's abdomen as he gasped in shock.

“JASON!”

The princess fought against her restraints as the assassin withdrew his blade from Jason.

The guard gasped as his swords clanged to the floor as he grasped his side as blood seeped through his shirt.

His eyes were void of life as the light slowly left his eyes.

The princess screamed and cried as Jason crumbled before her eyes.

The man she loved more than life became a ghost before her.

This was worse than any death, torture, or life she could ever endure.

She let out a blood-curdling scream as Jason fell to the ground as his breathing swallowed to a stop.

Tears streamed down her face as she was in disbelief.

As one of the assassins put a sword to her throat, the doors to her room burst open as the royal army came in.

Everything was a blur after that.

The assassins running for their lives as knights chased them through the woods and nurses and doctors were surrounding Jason as he was slipping from this life.

The princess rejected every attempt for a nurse to treat her wounds as she said to focus on Jason and Jason only.

He was her world, and she couldn’t lose him.

The princess sat silent as her guard’s brothers and father sat around her, waiting for her reply.

“You know,” she licked her lips, trying to focus and not break down again, “when we were ten, we would be in here every day.”

Jason’s brothers raised a brow at the change of subject but didn’t press the matter.

“We would run around trying to see who could find the book we were finding first. Jason was always excited for that game, but never won.”

Bruce hummed as he remembered what she was talking about. In his mind, he started to think of his second son as he spoke fondly of the princess and their games.

“I always wondered why he never won because I always tried to make Jason the winner. I would always pick a book where Jason would look first, but he never saw it.”

The princess changed her sitting position to fold her legs to the side.

“So, one day, I followed him as he looked for the book. I saw him drag his finger across the spines, but he always went past the book I picked.”

Tim now sat up.

“I asked him if he was trying to make me win, but he said no. And I kept asking him every day until he told me why he never picked up the book.” The princess’ head lowered, “he told me, he couldn’t read.”

Dick’s eyes widened.

Dick never knew his younger brother couldn’t read.

“So, this time, when we came back to the library, I told him to pick a book and I’ll teach him how to read,” she smiled as she began to remember being with Jason, “he was a little rough in the beginning, really rough actually, but he never gave up.”

Bruce smiled as he remembers Jason sitting at the dining table in the Knight’s home and trying to read Shakespeare.

“We did plays, short stories, fiction, non-fiction, all of it. Then, one day, Jason came in and read a whole chapter to me without stopping once. He said every word perfectly and after he was done, he just looked up and said, “I’ve been practicing.” and he smiled. His front tooth missing and all.”

Everyone in the room had a smile on their face as they imagined a smaller and happier Jason.

Although unknown to everyone, Jason practiced not for himself, but for his princess. He wanted to prove that he was as smart as any prince, and he did. He proved he’s much smarter than any prince and most Kings.

The princess watched as Jason’s chest rose and fell with each breath.

She couldn’t sleep, not that anyone in the castle really could.

She just finished reading him another play, one of his favorites. Hamlet.

She gingerly raised her hand and placed it on Jason’s. He felt cold, too cold.

He is usually always warm and full of life, but here he was.

“Jay, I miss you. I miss you so much.” She said as she traced a small circle on the back of Jason’s hand with her thumb.

She waited for him to move, but he lay still.

The princess bit her lip as she thought of what to do. Unsure if she should do it.

She then pulled down her barriers and leaned forward to Jason’s head.

She leaned down and gave Jason a small kiss on his forehead, “I need you. Please come back to me,” my love.

She slowly fell back into her chair as their fingers were still together.

She looked at Jason's clock as it read 5 am. She should leave before a nurse catches her, again.

She stands and looks at Jason once more and turns to leave, but as her hand slips from Jason’s, it catches.

The princess looks down to see her fingertips lightly held by Jason’s. Soon, her hand is being pulled to his palm as he squeezes.

The princess’ heart was beating out of her chest as she watched Jason’s hand move with hers.

Her eyes slowly went up to Jason’s features, and she let out a breath of happiness as she saw Jason awake with a lovesick grin on his face.

“Hey princess.”

So You Want To Be An Ally

Over the last 2 weeks, I have been fielding many white-guilt questions at work and having very interesting conversations and Zoom calls. Overall, they have been well received, but I am not sure if anything will happen once this is no longer a hot topic. I hope we keep up the momentum, but the media and Politicians and other power holders will try to silence us as quickly as possible. All of the companies realizing that #BlackLivesMatter will inevitably fade away as well. WE HAVE TO KEEP THE PRESSURE ON. So I made a list of talking points for the company that I work for, I hope they put it to use. I will begin sending this to anyone that reaches out to me to “talk” or “to see if I am ok”. While I appreciate the concern (if it’s genuine), I cannot continue being your only Black friend or the only Black person that you feel comfortable speaking to.

I saw this on Twitter recently, White privilege doesn't mean that your life hasn't been hard, it just means that the color of your skin isn't one of the things that makes it harder. I think this pretty much sums up what white people need to understand, what those people calling themselves our allies need to understand. Having Black pride & saying Black Lives Matter should not offend anyone. It does not mean that we are anti white people.

Black people are not a monolith. While we have all experienced racism in some form or another, we do not share the exact same experiences with it. To try and get an overall view of the different types of racism, you need to speak to many different Black people. Stop treating us as a collective, we are all individuals. Racism has permeated every single institution in this country. Education, Housing, Banking, Healthcare, Criminal Justice, Entertainment, etc. Racism is very much systemic, not always overt. There are also many different microaggressions that do not present as overt racism. Also, if we are going to have these discussions, please make sure that we feel safe, that we will be heard without reprimand or cynicism or disbelief. Our silence is the reason why this has gone on for so long. We want to be heard. We are no longer willing to stay invisible. Fear makes many of us stay silent, not willing to upset the status quo.

Revamp your hiring strategy/quota. People and organizations tend to conflate diversity and inclusivity. They are NOT the same. While there are many women, LGBTQIA members, Black and other People of Color, the Executives, Sales Management, and HR do not reflect this.

Conversations about race and other social justice issues are uncomfortable. Having these conversations without any Black and People of color present is pointless. Make sure you have Black people and other People of Color in any discussions you have regarding race relations and any other social justice issues. Empathy and sympathy is great, but it will not replace an actual experience.

Understand that the current state of the world has been a long time coming. George Floyd was the straw that broke the camel's back. The only difference is that everyone has a camera now and the police aren't doing themselves any favors by brutalizing everyone who is protesting police brutality.

Acknowledge your privilege. Acknowledge that the system is built to benefit you more than it does us and that it always has.

Saying "I'm not racist" isn't enough anymore. You have to be anti-racist. You have to stop the jokes, stereotypes, etc amongst your circle of friends and family members. This will be hard. But Black and Brown lives have to matter more than offending anyone that is unwilling to change.

Racism is not up to Black people and other People of Color to solve. This wasn't created or instituted by us and as we remain the "minority" in positions of power, we are unable to change it. We only have the ability to fight it, to rise up and demand change. To show that we will no longer take it. We will no longer be silent. We were all taught to be quiet and hold our feelings in to make sure that white people are comfortable. To make sure that we don’t appear threatening or angry. That is changing. Things will not go back to the way that they were.
