Faunic/Daunic flag redesign/alt flag
Ello lil gays in my phone I found a term I wanted to steal for myself (faunic) but didn't like the flag so I made this one (with permission).
Tumblr media
Despite saying I didn't quite like brown on pride flags, I decided to keep a bit of it, just in nicer shades. This flag was inspired by the omnisexual and lesbian flags!
Original post's definition -
Daunic or Faunic: An orientation characterized by being a nonman attracted to, loving, or desiring/having relationships with other nonmen. It encompasses gay women, lesbians (cis and trans, binary and nonbinary), other wlw, and several nblw, nblnb and wlnb identities (depending on the nonbinary individual’s personal identity and relation to (non)manhood). It’s the non-man version of floric.

hey what label can I use when I'm not attracted to male-aligned people under any circumstance?
I know this likely was not asked in good faith but the simple answer is really: whatever you want.
if the answer you're looking for is lesbian, then you've come to the wrong place. because I am not going to just say "lesbian" if you wanted me to exclude bi-lesbians; who are people of my own community.
yes, you can identify as lesbian. most of the lesbian community experiences exclusive attraction to women or nonbinary individuals. however some people who experience the same attraction prefer the terms trixic, enbian, trixenamoric, or more. some of these labels also prove use as an add on to lesbian, such as "trixic lesbian" or "enbian lesbian," bc they want to specify their attraction to nonbinary people (as not every lesbian experiences such attraction, most lesbians do experience it exclusively to women as there are terms for including nonbinary people, but they are NOT required).
a lot of the time in the mspecles community, these labels are used as replacements for terms like "bi" or "poly" and other mspec identities bc they feel as though terms like those do not describe them. if bi or poly or omni and more do not describe you, then you do not have to use it. if your attraction feels monosexual, then u can say that! nobody is forcing u to use labels you are uncomfortable with. that's the important part.
also I forgot to add that neptunic is a widely accepted term even by the exclusionary lesbian community: it is explicitly defined as the attraction to all genders EXCEPT man aligned individuals, which fits exactly what you said as well!
because your attraction is so broad, you could even use bisexual or polysexual, and polysexual means you are attracted to more than one gender, and bisexual is two or more. there is nothing wrong with the overlap of these labels eith lesbianism. if lesbianism includes a being attracted to women and/or enby people, there's at LEAST two genders there. thus falling under both the bisexual and polysexual umbrellas.
tl;dr identify as whatever you want. labels are useless if the person using them doesn't feel fully comfortable or described by the labels they are using. just be yourself and nobody else should stop you.

hihi! so for some context I’m trying to collect terms that include attraction to women, could I get a list of some terms that fit this description? :3
Tumblr media
Womasexual, or womansexual, is a sexual orientation describing exclusive attraction to women. This includes attraction to binary women and may also include attraction to female-aligned non-binary individuals.
Tumblr media
Femaric is an umbrella term to describe any attraction to women or feminine-aligned individuals, and a standalone term as a non-straight identity. It was made with non-binary individuals in mind but can be used by anyone who experiences non-straight attraction to women. This includes all sapphic women as well as bisexual and pansexual men, as well as any other men who are attracted to women but are not straight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Azalean / QLM is an orientation where one is queer, in any form, and loves women. They can also love any other genders.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liersian / Liersic is a term for anybody who feels gay attraction to women, regardless of one's own gender.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reilian is a term for anybody who feels straight attraction to women, regardless of one's own gender.
Tumblr media
Lesbian is a term that defines queer attraction to women. This attraction is most commonly used as exclusively wlw/nblw attraction, as communities surrounding exclusive wlw/nblw have become the primary part of the lesbian community. However, there is no one perfect definition that encompasses all experiences of lesbianism. This term includes butch, femme, non-binary, anonbinary, cusper, and multigendered individuals.

Flowerbed Lesbian
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plain flag (left), Flag with stripe meanings (right)
This term/flags were originally posted June 5th, 2022.
Last year or so (actually around 2 years now upon re-posting) I made my own take on the lesbian/gay/vincian/enbian flags since I am critinclus/radinclus. However one of the two posts detailing these flags was lost, so I am remaking/renaming them, along with simplifying and cleaning up some stripe meanings.
The original flags I made were 9 stripes, and I didn’t like the way I simplified them into 5 stripes, so I’ve decided to make a simple 6 stripe one. Some of these flags will look very similar to the ones I originally did, and some will look way different.
This flag is coined as a Lesbian flag, however anyone who is Q4W (Queer for Women), WLW/NBLW/WLNB/NBLNB, or identifies their attraction to women as queer regardless of their own gender or other attractions. (Basically anyone who feels like a lesbian, but may not 100% identify with the lesbian label for any reason, is allowed to use this flag, as long as they recognize it as the Flowerbed Lesbian/Q4W flag. You could call yourself Flowerbed Sapphic/Bi/etc in order to make that connection.)
This flag stands for inclusion and solidarity within the Lesbian community, and between the Lesbian community, other Q4W communities, and other non-primarily Q4W Queer communities (Vincians/Enbians/etc). Generally just look at the stripe meanings if you want the general idea, I go into more detail for my reasoning below each meaning. This is a LONG POST.
.
The Stripe meanings:
Top/Vibrant Deep Purple: Aspec Lesbian, Monospec Lesbian, and Mspec Lesbian inclusion and solidarity.
The Flowerbed Lesbian flag is radically inclusive of Aspec and Mspec lesbians, due to exclusionists in the community attempting to push them out. Monospec Lesbians should have solidarity with Aspec and Mspec lesbians.
Second Stripe/Vibrant Velvet Magenta: Multigender Lesbian, Genderfluid Lesbian, Genderflux Lesbian, Monogender Lesbian, Xenogender Lesbian, Agender Lesbian inclusion and solidarity.
Of course these are not the only genders included under this stripe, however these are some of the more excluded and misunderstood from general lesbian spaces, so they’re here to explicitly say they’re included under this flag. Monogender Lesbians should stand with Lesbians with more complicated gender identities.
Third Stripe/Cardinal Pink: Pronoun-Non-Conforming Lesbian, Gender-Non-Conforming Lesbian, Pronoun-Conforming Lesbian, Gender-Conforming Lesbian Inclusion and Solidarity
This stripe is obviously here due to the whole “masc = bad” mentality that is rampant in lesbian and otherwise queer spaces. This stripe is for explicit inclusion of he/him, they/them, it/its, neopronoun, nounself, emojiself lesbians, and lesboy, masc, transmasc, carnatian, lavenderian, kiwi, transneu, transxen, xenic, amaranthian lesbians. Gender and Pronoun conforming lesbians should include and have solidarity with non-gender/pronoun conforming lesbians.
Fourth Stripe/Hot Pink: Lesbian and Non-Lesbian Q4W inclusion and solidarity
This stripe is here to include non-lesbian Q4W in lesbian spaces, conversation, etc. This stripe stands for and includes anyone who has Queer love for women, and doesn’t primarily identify as a lesbian. This includes sapphic, neptunic, lilaen, trixic, faunic, etc. This stripe can also include lesbians who are not explicitly Q4W, and may be NBLNB lesbians. Non-Lesbians are not the enemies of lesbians, and lesbians should included and have solidarity with other Q4W.
Fifth Stripe/Dark Violet: Femme Lesbian, Futch Lesbian, Butch Lesbian, Twink Lesbian, Otter Lesbian, Bear Lesbian inclusion and solidarity.
This stripe is here partly for the same reason as stripe number three, however with the added notion that Femme/Futch/Butch are not lesbian exclusive terms, and that Otter/Bear/Twink are not vincian/gay man exclusive terms. There may be many reasons someone would use these terms, Femme/Futch/Butch generally relate to gender-presentation, and Otter/Bear/Twink generally relate to one’s body. Of which there is a lot of fatphobia in queer communities, so this stripe is primarily here to focus on challenging what a lesbian “looks like”. Futch and Butch lesbians (Ursulas) are not the enemies of Femme lesbians, and Bear lesbians and just as valid in their lesbian identity as Otter and Twink lesbians. Be inclusive and have solidarity with other lesbians, even if they don’t “look like” a lesbian. Challenge fatphobia, transphobia, and queermisia in your own communities.
Sixth/Last Stripe/Vibrant Dark Blue: Otherwise Marginalized Lesbian inclusion and solidarity.
Like I mentioned in stripe number five, there is not “look” to being a lesbian. This stripe is for the explicit inclusion of otherwise marginalized lesbians, whether they be BIPOC, a religious minority, trans, intersex, polyamorous, chronically ill and/or disabled, neurodivergent, fat and/or a bear, etc. Include and have solidarity with other lesbians, whether or not they’re like yourself. Challenge bigoted rhetoric in your own communities.

i think the thing is, is a lot of exclusionists are coming at this from the wrong direction. so much of the language used to argue against mspec lesbians is binarist to the extreme, which is extremely frustrating when what we’re talking about is a non-binary identity.
lesbianism has always included nonbinary people, and bisexuals, and gender nonconformists, and trans people, and aspecs, and men, and genderqueers, and mspec people of all kinds! we didn’t always have the language, but if you know what to look for you’ll see we were ALWAYS there.
but then the second wave of feminism hit, and with it came a lot of very loud upper-middle class white women’s opinions. political lesbianism became a thing, and lesbian separatism, and suddenly it wasn’t enough to just love women anymore. in fact, under political lesbian ideology, queer love for women didn’t factor in at all.
men were evil. men were inherently oppressors. men were sexually depraved animals that would ruin anything they touched. attraction under this ideology was an ethical choice. any woman who chose to align herself with a man was a traitor to the cause, and a victim of the patriarchy, and impure.
if that terminology sounds familiar, you’re right, it is! this was the birth of radical feminism, and with it came proto-TERFism.
now, please take a moment to consider why it became so important to center the exclusion of “men” in the definition of lesbianism. think about why a binary of “okay” and “not okay” genders would be encouraged, and who would benefit from their segregation.
all that said, i’ll address your concerns point by point
one of the bigger confusions for me with the mspec lesbian label is: what is a lesbian then?
the answer is the same as any queer identity. it’s up to personal interpretation. lesbian is a word that someone chooses to express theirself, to explain their identity, and to help find community where they belong.
in my opinion, and how i define lesbian for personal use: a lesbian is someone who experiences queer attraction to women, and prioritizes that attraction when seeking relationships.
but if a lesbian defines their personal experience with lesbianism around their lack of attraction to men, that’s cool! it’s their identity, and they’re the only one who can decide how to relate that to the real world.
the not cool part is when a singular experience is generalized, and touted as universal.
There Is No Universal Experience. the way you feel is not going to be exactly identical to everyone else.
Ive heard [lesbian] re-defined “queer attraction to women” but thats also for example what bisexual women have.
this seems to be a shocking statement to a lot of exclusionists. but. having things in common with other queer people is a good thing. yes, correct, bisexual women experience queer attraction to women. and they have personal reasons why they don’t identify with lesbianism, just like you (i assume) have personal reasons why you don’t identify with mspec labels. some people have personal reasons why they identify with multiple labels. and it’s not our business to pry into anyone’s private life!
also, as an aside bc it feels like a lot of people forget this: a bi woman’s queer attraction to women is not lesser than a lesbian woman’s. bisexuals and lesbians are equally queer. bi women and lesbian women have valuable shared experiences, including and not limited to their love for women, and the history of their communities.
Lesbianism centers women and its the only sexuality that doesnt include men.
it is not the only sexuality that doesn’t include men. ceterosexual. finsexual. enbian. neptunic. nominsexual. womasexual. hell, even bisexual doesn’t have to include men! i could go on and on and on, but my point is made.
if you don’t want to use a different label when you already identify with lesbianism so strongly, well… huh. i wonder who else feels that way 🤔
I dont see why lesbians cant just have our own label for our own sexuality?
this is a bad argument, and my absolute least favorite phrase to hear in a conversation about inclusivity. i will not give a question asked in such bad faith the dignity of a real response.
If we decide lesbianism includes men we wont even have a label for that shared experience anymore.
again, we’re not ~deciding~ that lesbianism includes men. multigender, genderfluid, nonbinary, butch, and otherwise genderqueer lesbians have always existed. it’s transphobic revisionism to say that they didn’t, to pretend this is a new concept.
parting statements
1) there are always reasons why a person connects with a label. when it comes to queer identity, a lot of people think long and hard about it. we’re talking hours upon hours of introspection- weeks, years even. if someone identifies in a way you don’t understand, it’s not your business to question them. they’ve thought about their experience more than you ever could.
2) because this is a big argument that gets thrown around: we are not going to force you to fuck men. we are not going to force you to fuck us. if you are not attracted to men, and/or you don’t want to be in a relationship with someone who could be, then walk away from them. that’s literally all it takes.
3) the acknowledgement and acceptance of mspec lesbians Does Not suggest or encourage the normalization of corrective rape, conversion therapy, or lesbophobic harassment. it does not contribute to lesbian erasure, as that is a problem with public representation and historical accounts, Not a matter of personal identity

Mega post of some new flags (that don’t have a name/term for yet), that are meant to be counterparts to aphrodite lesbian and eros gay.
Like the other flags here, if anyone wants to coin terms/names for these, and use these flags for those terms/names, then I am totally okay with it. I'm not going to come up with names on my own since I'm not good at naming things haha.
In the order they're shown, the flags are: -achillean | (2nd ver) -sapphic | (2nd ver) -sapphillean | (2nd ver) -diamoric | -owtic/enbian -gaybian -gai | -strayt -uranic | -neptunic -cetero -a-spec | (2nd ver) -ace | -ace-spec -aro | -aro-spec -aroace | -aroace-spec -quoisexual | -quoiromantic -pomo | (2nd ver) -t4t

To avoid writing a lot and repeating myself, just read these related flag posts if you're interested. (bambi flags p1, bambi flags p2, aphrodite lesbian / eros gay / etc. flags). The flag meanings for these follow the same ideas as those.
Anyways, I think these flags turned out nice. I like the colors :)

We just finished the whole LGBTQ flag merge game, and it was surprisingly helpful! So we wanted to make a collection of all the flags/terms in it (so far.)
The idea is, if anyone gets curious about a term, we tell them it's definition.

hi my friend, uhm so I need some help- do you think there is a sexuality label for this?:
Tumblr media
because my boyfriend said she prefers to be called girlfriend and uhhh yeah idrk thanks for ur help! :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Homospike (also called gayspike) is a microlabel under homoflexible, when someone primarily experiences attraction to the same/similar gender or is otherwise gay (vincian or lesbian), but very occasionally has sudden and intense spikes of strong attraction to the opposite/dissimilar gender. These spikes are usually short lived.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Homoflexible or anisosexual is used to describe an individual who is generally gay/homosexual/homoromantic/equaric/simul- (vincian/veldian, enbian/cenelian, or lesbian/sapphic) and primarily experiences attraction to the same gender/similar genders, but has very occasionally rare tendencies to be attracted to other genders.
Tumblr media
Uranicflexible is a term similar to homo/heteroflexible, but when one feels their opposite attraction; their attraction may be described as neptunic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uraniflux is a abromantic/fluid orientation. Uraniflux individuals experience constant attraction to male, masculine and neutral aligned enbies, but occasionally are attracted to females or female-aligned individuals to a fluctuating extent. Uraniflux people can be any gender.
Tumblr media
Uranicflux (not to be confused with uraniflux) is a term for when one is both uranic and femticflux/femromanticflux. For example, being uranic with fluctuating romantic attraction towards women and other feminine-aligned people whilst still being uranic.
Tumblr media
Uranisflux is a term for when one is both uranic and femalisflux/femsexualflux. For example, being uranic with fluctuating sexual attraction towards women and other feminine-aligned people whilst still being uranic.
