Damian had never seen another person his age before.

“Wow, you're good at that.”

Damian froze in his practice and looked over at the boy. It was after his lesson, his instructor had other students to teach, and Damian had his own private training area. Well, it was supposed to be private. “Who are you?”

“Danny, what's your name?”

Damian glared at the boy. Who doesn't know who he is? “I am Damian Al-Ghoul, grandson of the Demon's Head, son of the Bat, heir to the League of Assassins.”

“Wow, that's a lot... Can I just call you Damian?”

“Servants call me Master. How did you get here?”

Danny shrugged, “I was just looking around.”

“Just looking around...”

“Yeah, my parents are in the science lab down in the bottom basement with the weird lake and I was helping them, but then I got board and Jazz said I wasn't allowed to leave the lab, but when I asked Dad, he said I could do what I want as long as I don't get in trouble.”

“Oh, the idiot scientists.” Damian remembered how his mother had described the new scientists hired to study the Lazarus Pools. A pair of geniuses when it came to the scientific study of magic but idiots in all other fields. Surely only idiots would bring their children to live with the League of Assassins.

“What do you mean? If you're a scientist you can't be an idiot?”

Damian huffed at the boy. “You can be smart at one thing and dumb at others. Like you could be good at reading but bad at numbers.”

“Oh, I guess that makes sense. But I'm pretty good at reading and numbers.” Danny then smiled brightly, “It looks like you're really good at swording though.”

“It's called swordplay. And yes, I am good at it. Better at it at my age than many who are older.”

“Can you show me how to do it?”

Damian contemplated for a moment, “As long as you don't get in the way of my practice, I don't see why not.”

Danny cheered as he ran up to where Damian was standing, but Damian pointed to the side of the training area, “There should be a spare sword over there you can use.”

Danny nodded and ran to get it then ran back.

Damian wasn't sure if he'd like showing Danny how to use a sword, but he liked how Danny followed all his instructions. It was different than how the servants followed his orders, but Damian couldn't place why. It became common place, for Danny to show up after Damian's lessons and Damian would show him what he'd learned. It actually made learning new things easier because Damian had to figure out how exactly something worked in order to show Danny how to do it. Not only that, but when they practiced the moves on each other, Danny would change them and make it harder to beat him. Damian did win every time, but Danny wasn't half bad.

When young ghosting are extremely tired or have exhausted their core too much, whether it be from fighting or just using up too much ectoplasm, they can merge with their parent in the ghost zone. The core of their parent and the welcoming warmth it gave often allowed for fast recoveries. Dani was too weak even with her eco-shots and Danny allowed her to rest inside him until she was one hundred percent again.

One minor thing was that even with the core, there's still a bit of a change that's physically noriceable. And while ghosts and those of the Infinite Realms understood, humans often didn't.

Which was why Danny was met with mortified and angry gazes when he appeared to the next Justice League meeting with Dani resting inside of him. It didn't help with how bad he explained the situation either.

“Tsukishima…”  Y/N’s voice is a mere whisper, barely audible over the quiet melody drifting from the speaker.

“Hm?”  He cocks his head to look at her.  The blond is caught off guard, however, when he notices just how close she is.  And as if it is second nature to him, his gaze flickers down to her lips as quickly as lightning strikes.  Shit, he thinks.  He hopes she didn’t notice.

“What?”  The boy asks more adamantly this time, faux annoyance adorning his features.

She giggles lightly, “You’re really good at that, y’know…”

“Good at what?”  Tsukishima’s eyebrow quirks up.

“Acting mean,” this time her eyes look down at his lips, “but you’re lucky I know better.  You’re too nice to me.”

At this point, the space between them is rapidly closing, and Tsukki only has time to gulp and chuckle nervously before that distance is nonexistent.

Y/N’s lips are soft.  Her kiss is light, and Tsukishima can't help but let out a breath through his nose close enough to a whine.  He doesn't understand how she can make him feel this way so easily.  It's almost like he could start floating at any moment.  Or maybe his heart would race right out of his chest - rushing to burrow itself closer to hers.  Not that he would complain, though.  Deep down, he thinks it’d be happier that way…

Her nose nudges against his as she tilts her head slightly, pressing further into him, now gliding her gentle hands up his chest and around the nape of his neck.  She fiddles with the short blond tendrils there briefly before fully embracing him.

After a few moments, she pulls back.  Tsukshima’s lips subconsciously follow hers – like it’s some natural instinct to keep them melded together – but he’s stopped by a light peck on the tip of his nose.

He opens his eyes this time, lashes fluttering in a daze as he takes in the image before him.

She’s beautiful.

Tsukishima sighs imperceptibly.  He knows if she could read his thoughts she’d smack him for thinking such lies.  But, they’re not lies. And, he wishes, more than anything, for her to believe it too.

“Kei,” he swears he could get drunk just off her voice, “you’re so pretty.”

The boy blinks slowly once, then twice before finally registering her words.  And, without even thinking, the next words slip out of his mouth.

“That’s my line.”

If it were any other man than the one and only Tsukishima Kei, it wouldn’t have been so surprising.  But, it is him, and the shade of red that flushes across Y/N’s entire face, and down past the collar of her shirt, is almost record-breaking for the amount of time it occurred in.  In order to hide her embarrassment quickly, she slumps forward, face resting comfortably in the crook of his neck.

“Stop,” she mumbles, “that was too cheesy…”  Tsukki chuckles at her barely audible statement, trying not to squirm from her tickling breath.

“Don’t try to hide the fact that you liked it.  And, that makes you cheesy,” he whispers directly into her ear, which earns a quiet groan from the girl.

She pulls herself halfway out of her hiding spot but stops to leave a chaste kiss on his jaw.

“You’re stupid,” she says plainly.

“Yeah, yeah.  I love you too, or whatever.”

Alright at this point no Star Wars writer other than Timothy Zahn should be allowed to touch Thrawn in current canon. Don't look at him, don't think about him, none of that. Don't even breathe in the blue man's direction. If you don't understand the fundamentals of his character, namely the primary force that drives and motivates him to do things, then do not have him do things!!! Create your own character to be the big bad!! Leave him alone.

WELL I personally think that jason todd isn't sidelined ENOUGH. like lets be real right now. canon jason todd has done a lot of bullshit to the batfam as red hood, and the fact that the so much of the fandom is completely chill with knowing the existence of this and still saying it's okay is just straight up disturbing.

i personally think we don't actually have enough tim and dick content without jason butting in every single time as this perfect brother he was literally never in canon. Let's be fr rn bc jason todd needs to make up for a lot of shit before the batfam would be comfortable with him, actually trust him, because he's done a lot of shit.

go have your fun with fanon jason, but don't claim that it's actually canon jason you're talking about. fanon jason who's actually done nothing wrong can be chill in life (and by actually done nothing wrong i mean actually done nothing and not that his actions were just swept away as small little things) but canon jason?

and to say that fanfics and canon should have jason and dick being a dynamic and closeness like dick and damian is wild lmaoo. like damian has not done half the utter bullshit jason has done to dick and people dick cares about, and like despite previous comics having dick almost adopt jason, taking their current canon characters and taking in their ages that's um.... not good? like the fandom parentifying dick with damian is a popular trope, and given that dick did almost adopt damian okayyy but like, the only time dick actually almost adopted jason was when they had a proper age difference.

like saying that dick should've had that parent child dynamic when jason was robin and even after is wild, bc in comic canon at this point dick is like, max four to five years older. and wanting him to be a parental figure to jason is such sad parentifying like what the hell? dick grayson does not need to be parentified, and especially not to red hood.

So, I'm just gonna end this with saying that jason todd has way too much attention in batfam fics as this saintly character (as much as a murderer can be a saint in a fandom that is completely okay with killing people) that loves his brothers, would never harm them and is extremely gentle and also actually cares for their well being and general autonomy and comes up with good decisions that when contested always prove he's right.

Like some of you guys are like jason should go back to being a villain and then turn around and write him as the best guy ever. Bro.

My next mini fic is going to be a Lost AU, stranded on a deserted island vibe.

I blame Mike's mic. Everytime he uploads a Lost recap I binge the series.

141 take a private jet from an op but it crashes on an island.

You're the sole flight attendent and the only survivor other then 141.

Give me hot half naked men showing off with their epic army survival skills while trying to ignore the fact they're totally not doing it to impress you.

Lost AU so give me spooky monsters in the forest kicking in 141's 'protection instincts.'

Fucking primal vibes, hurt/comfort rugged injured men who need your comfort to help them through the horrors of being stranded on a deserted island.

uh. stubborn character who was captured for information, refuses to give anything up. No one can make them say a word other than flippant backtalk. And then the other team, a little frustrated, says something like “fine. Bring them in.”

And another character with a very intimidating vibe shows up. They’re wiping blood off their hands with a deadpan expression. They’re rolling up their sleeves. They’re tying their hair up. Shit is about to go down.

“Heard you needed my help?” A little smirk.

And the team just reluctantly points at the door holding the captive.

Not five minutes later, there’s the sound of strangled screaming reverberating against the concrete.

The team looks at each other. “They do know we want them alive, right?”

A character so good at their job that they’re both the last resort and only answer.

Was talking with a mutual about this earlier but like, if someone somehow managed to get Cale to laugh hard enough, I feel like he would have one of those midwestern dad cackles. Normally he'll have a quiet laugh, snort/smile if he finds something mildly amusing or wheeze silently if something catches him off-guard. But a full belly-laugh? That man CACKLES.

Like imagine:

It's fully silent in the Super Rock Villa because everyone is busy doin their own thing, and then all of a sudden this loud laugh starts echoing through the place, and everyone has a moment of pause when they realize.

Something made Cale fucking Henituse cackle.

This has never happened before, but the same thought crosses everyone's mind:

"We need to hear him laugh like that again."

Suddenly, it becomes a challenge with money on the line. Whoever can get Cale to cackle again will get 100 galleons from everyone participating as well as bragging rights at having made Cale laugh.

Alberu gets involved, and adds the condition that if someone manages to get him to slap his knee while he's laughing, he will give them a golden plaque.

The Henituse Family gets involved.

Duke Fredo von Ejellan gets involved.

Eruhaben gets involved.

Ron motherfucking Molan even joins in.

Everyone is so incredibly invested in this, so much so that Cale has started picking up on a shift in something. He isn't sure what changed, but he starts gaining a 6th sense for dad jokes thanks to all the attempts made by Deruth and Duke Fredo. They were all so bad that they almost looped around to being funny again. The moment Cale feels a dad joke coming, he goes stone-faced in preparation for one of the worst puns known to any race.

At most, if they're bad enough, it makes him crack a smile or snort. But none have managed to make him belly-laugh yet.

Eruhaben and Rosalyn are almost tempted to magic their way through and use a harmless laughing gas, but both agree that it would probably be cheating and also very unethical.

Raon, Ohn, and Hong are in it too. So far, Ohn has come the closest. No one knows how she did it, but she got a laugh out of him. But it wasn't quite THE laugh.

Eventually, when Sui Khan comes around, he catches wind of this alleged cackle-laugh and gets involved too. He doesn't fully join into the challenge. That would be unfair after all, as he's known Cale the longest. But he does help the others out with their ideas or jokes to get Cale to laugh.

A lethal duo begins to form, as Ohn has decided to request Sui Khan's help. No one knows what to expect, but everyone is absolutely in this to win the money and, most importantly, the bragging rights.

Its just luck that the ex/stalker is actually one of the main targets for their case and getting close to the 'ex/stalked' they're still wanting plays into their favor.
