Savanaclaw: Manicures with Them

Story time: When I was in beauty school we had to learn nails and in my freshmen class we had an odd number of students and I was too shy to get a partner. So we had to find one of the seniors and there was this student who’s birthday was that day and they sent him up. He was easily 6’6” (198.12 cm) tall and used to be a body builder. Manicures with Them

Leona Kingscholar

King when it comes to lazy nail care. His nails are naturally sharp so he has to keep them filed somehow. He has almost like a scratching post that he’ll lazy drag his nails over to keep them filed. Other than that, he doesn’t do much with them. He doesn’t feel a need to, and as long as they’re functional and still sharp, then why should he?

You’ll have to be very insistent on doing his nails for him to allow it. Once he does though, he is very clear on you not making them blunt or putting color on them. He might be fine with a simple black or brown nail polish though, but as him before doing anything. His cuticles could also use some work so do those as well. Normally he has someone else do them for him back home, and sometimes Ruggie will help out, but he doesn’t care for his nails and won’t ask…so they’re pretty bad.

He’s going to deny you for the longest time. It’ll take weeks of asking before he gets fed up and just does them. A true shocker is that he’s actually good at doing nails. He might be lazy, but he’s smart and knows how they used to do his nails before ceremonies back home. So he does a spectacular job and if you ask him why he just explains if he’s going to put in the effort to do it, he might as well get them right the first time so he doesn’t have to listen to you complain.

Ruggi Bucchi

Ruggie normally just clips his nails when he notices they’re getting a little too long. They’re also a bit sharper compared to other students, and even if he clips them normally they’ll grow back sharp within a day or two. Specialty products are out of his zone since that cost too much money and don't matter. He can function well without worrying about cuticle oil, so there’s no need to apply it. Why waste money on something like that?

He is more than willing to let you do his nails and use all those fancy and expensive products on him. He’ll be smiling like a sedated little cat with his tail lazily swaying behind him while you give him a pampering treatment. Putting some lotion on his dry hands and giving him a little massage. All he asks is that you don’t use polish since it’ll chip off within a day, but a clear top coat is fine by him. He doesn’t even care if it’s shiny.

This is one of the skills Ruggie learned to suck up to people when he needed to. He’s pretty damn good when it comes to doing the basics of someone else’s nail care. He sometimes has to do Leona’s and makes sure he does a good enough job that you could fall asleep with how relaxed you are. He totally doesn’t do this to others so he can go through their wallet once they’re passed out and take his own tip for his hard work.

Jack Howl

Jack keeps it simple and just used nail clippers when needed. He doesn’t ever bite his nails since he knows it’ll make hangnails worse, so he just clips them whenever he gets back to his dorm. He’s never applied nail polish before so he doesn’t know if he’ll like it. He doesn’t find any appeal to it but will admit it looks nice on other people. He’s just always using his hands and working on it, so he doesn’t see a point in his own nails being done.

He’ll let you take care of his nails if you ask. You do a better job at it anyway, and it makes you happy to be doing it. He’ll just ask that you don’t put any nail polish on it since it’ll chip and look horrible later on. He doesn’t go around flaunting his nails off, but if someone takes notice he just comments that you do his nails. When you do his nails, you can even offer an arm massage if you’d like and he’ll allow it. Just be careful because his arm is all muscle and if you’re kind of weak, he might not even feel it. He will thank you for it though and won’t say anything negative.

He can follow directions if you teach him how to do your nails. Show him a thing or two about how to file and paint and he’ll do his best. He might be a bit clumsy with the delicate process when making sure it doesn’t get all over your nails, but he’s trying and will spend time cleaning up afterward. He also gives amazing massages to your arms.

Appearance: he has tanned skin and dark green eyes. His hair is dark brown with dusty brown highlights his hair is long, choppy and perpetually messy with fluffy bangs and a rat’s tail. He has big brown rat ears and a long bushy pack rat tail of the same color. He also has big rat like front teeth and always appears kind of dirty.

Signiture spell:

Place Holder: he can replace any object he touches with what he’s holding him his hand. Which is most typically a chestnut. He can have a back log of these selected objects so can touch multiple other items and still be able to switch out one he touched a while back. Once he’s used his spell on an object once he must touch it again before being able to use it again.

Personality:

Stew is very mischievous and very curious. He’s often getting into things he shouldn’t, eves dropping and nosing around. He likes using his UM to pull pranks on unsuspecting students, sometimes enlisting help of other students (cough Floyd). He seems to never realize what he’s doing is bad or could annoy people and he doesn’t really understand the concept of stealing which he does quite often, mostly just small harmless things he thinks are neat. His biggest prank gone wrong was when Floyd gave him a bunch of banana peels from Monstoro’s trash and he used his power to place them around school causing many to trip and fall.

Neige frequents Acharya's office and often bakes him cookies to keep in his office.

Trein introduced Acharya and Yuu to each other on the VDC— he's taken quite a liking to him since he reminds him of a younger Mozus (cat and all). He has given Yuu a couple free therapy sessions.

Just like his twisted counterpart, Acharya smokes from a Hookah. Which means his nagging to Yuu about his own smoking is useless.

Pairing - Jamil Viper x Reader

Synopsis - Ever since Jamil met you, you've aggravated him. You're better than him in every class: foods, alchemy, flight. He's always seen you as his enemy but neither of you will acknowledge how much you are drawn to each other.

Genre - enemies to lovers, reader isn't Yuu

Notes - amortentia is from the British wizard book because TERFs don't deserve crediting.

"Hi, I'm Y/N, what's your name?"

Jamil perked up in his seat when he heard a whisper from next to him. Class hadn't started yet and it was the time when students usually scrambled to finish their homework from last class or, in Jamil's case, caught up on the book they were reading. He looked up from his book to see you smiling at him with your hand extended. He offered a small smile and shook your hand.

"I'm Jamil," he said. He glanced at the book, hoping you would get the hint and stop talking to him.

"It's nice to meet you, Jamil!" you beamed at him, reminding him if a certain other "ray of sunshine" who made his life a living hell. He nodded briefly and returned to his book. "Hey, your armband is red and gold. That's Scarabia, right?"

Jamil snapped his book shut and took a deep breath.

"Yeah, I'm in Scarabia," he mustered his most polite smile. Normally, he wouldn't be so snappy but he was already on the last straw from all of Kalim's demands so early in the morning. "I'm sorry, I'm just kind of busy. I don't mean to be rude but could you maybe talk to someone else?"

Your mouth formed an "o" as you realized his previous cues. You nodded sharply and mimed zipping your mouth closed. Jamil sighed and went flipping through the book, trying to find where he left off.

He had only read one page when he heard a loud tapping from next to him. He held back a roll of his eyes and turned to you, who was anxiously tapping your pencil on the desk.

"Do you need something?" Jamil smiled at you, ever so condescendingly. You looked up, a little confused but picked up your pencil and chuckled when you realized he was talking about the pencil.

"Ah! Sorry, sorry! Nervous habit," you chuckled awkwardly. He shot you a pointed look before going back to his book. You sighed in relief, wishing you were less nervous talking to him.

You had seen Jamil around last term but you didn't have any classes with him. You admitted that you had a bit of a schoolyard crush, admiring him for all that he takes on to deal with Kalim and the rest of Scarabia. Finally, you had an excuse to talk to the pretty vice dorm leader and you had managed to annoy him on your very first introduction. You weren't one to give up, however, and you vowed to make a better impression.

Once class started, you couldn't help from sneaking glances at the boy next to you. It was subconscious since you were thinking about him. Geometry was boring anyway and it was so much more interesting to dream up scenarios where you got Jamil to like you.

"L/N, since you're so confident in your abilities that you don't bother paying attention, would you mind telling me how to find the area of a circle with a radius of 7 cm?"

The professor was looking at you expectantly. You stumbled over your words, your brain struggling to catch up. He raised an eyebrow at you and you cleared your throat.

"It's, um, pi r squared for area, right?" You scribbled πr^2 in your notebook. "You just have to plug 7 in for r and you get..." You trailed off as you tapped the buttons of your calculator with the back of your pencil. "153.94!"

You beamed at the professor who seemed pleasantly surprised.

"Very good. However, I will ask you not to zone off in my class, no matter how proficient you may be."

"Absolutely, won't be a problem," you saluted him while stifling a giggle. He sighed and turned back to the blackboard.

You smiled to yourself and looked over at Jamil. The last thing you expected was to see him glaring at you so harshly. Your smile dropped and you raised your hands in mock surrender, turning back to your notes.

You hadn't realized that Jamil had noticed every "subtle" glance you sent his way. It was starting to get on his nerves, the way your eyes kept darting to him. He tried to concentrate but he felt your gaze on him like you were burning holes right through his head.

When you were called on by the teacher, he thought his worries would be over. He never in a million years imagined that he would have the wrong formula for the problem. He had only just met you and you were already upstaging him.

Jamil rolled his eyes and looked away from you, not missing the dejected look on your face out of the corner of his eye. He couldn't help but feel a little guilty about his behavior, but he tried not to get too hung up over it. He was used to being second place by now. You could never bother him as much as his dear dorm leader did.

When the bell rang, he couldn't be happier to be away from you. Something about you put him off and it wasn't your nervous tics. After you had done the problem right, you looked at him, as if you were waiting for something. Did you want approval? Praise? Why did you want it from him of all people? No one ever cared about his opinion. He shook off the thoughts and headed to flight class.

Surprise, surprise, you were there too. And in alchemy and history and magic studies. Every class Jamil had, you were there, and every time he saw you, he internally groaned, taking everything in his willpower not to make it external.

It wasn't even your presence that bothered him the most, it was that you were amazing at everything you did.

You performed flashy tricks in flight, you recreated advanced level potions from memory, you even knew the history of the Seven better than he did.

From then on, he decided that you were the bane of his existence. You were his enemy now and like any good snake, he didn't strike right away. No, he would bide his time to get revenge on you.

That didn't stop him from being sarcastic, of course. Over the next few weeks, you had consistently tried to make conversation with him and you were consistently shut down every time.

Whenever you had a group project, he found a partner before you could turn to him. Whenever you saw him in the hallway, he would suddenly remember he forgot something in the last class. Whenever you asked for help with a problem, he put in his earbuds.

After weeks of trying, you eventually gave up. If he was so determined to hate you, then he can have it his way. After seeing his rudeness to you, he clearly wasn't the admirable and strong vice dorm leader you thought he was. After all, your feelings for him went away a long time ago, didn't they?

Two years. Two whole years of continued beef between you and Jamil Viper. You were constantly trying to one up each other, his reservations set aside when he wasn't trying to make Kalim look good.

Both of you were too stubborn to give up even though by now, neither of you wanted to fight.

You still found him admirable and strong. After quickly being adopted into Kalim's friend group, you saw a lot more of your arch nemesis. You thought it would be torture but you got to see so many different sides of Jamil you didn't even know existed. He organized all of Kalim's parties and cooked for them all by himself. You wanted to offer your help but you knew he wouldn't accept it.

Once when you were hanging out with Kalim in the Scarabia dorm, you happened to walk by the kitchen where Jamil just happened to be preparing dinner for himself and Kalim. You watched, mesmerized as he ground up spices and tossed them into a skillet of butter chicken curry.

When he dipped his finger in the sauce to taste it, it was the first time you'd ever seen him smile for real. Without realizing, you had started smiling too. You coughed to snap yourself out of the daze. Unfortunately, that also caught Jamil's attention. He whirled around to spot the source of the noise but you were already pressed against the wall and praying he didn't see you.

When he turned back around, you had to withhold a sigh of relief. While you were standing there, frozen, the smell of curry wafted into your nose and you had to stop your eyes from rolling back. Even without tasting it, you could tell that the spices were a perfect blend.

"I suppose you can't expect much less than perfection when it's Jamil," you thought, smiling to yourself. You recognized the scent of spices easily since Jamil himself always smelled faintly of garam masala. Not that you had specifically noticed. I mean, you sat next to him in most of your classes. I wouldn't be weird to notice the way he smells. It's a totally normal, arch-nemesis thing to do.

You cringed at your own thoughts and headed back to the hall of mirrors.

"Amortentia?"

You quirked an eyebrow at the unfamiliar brewing recipe in front of you. Jamil rolled his eyes and turned to you.

"It's a powerful love potion. It smells like whatever attracts you the most," he explained, somehow managing to make it sound derogatory. You rolled your eyes as he preened smugly.

"Yeah, I didn't ask for a dictionary definition, genius," you scoffed, already fed up with his teasing only 5 minutes into potions. "I just wanna know what it's doing here. Isn't it like super dangerous?"

"It is super dangerous, Y/N. Thank you for pointing that out," the professor said dryly from behind you. You froze up and shot him a thumbs up without turning around. "Which is why you will not be brewing it today, but merely reading through the recipe as well as studying a sample of the potion itself."

The professor gestured to the small cauldron on each worktable. You peered over the edge to examine the iridescent pearly liquid. Swirls of steam spiraled up to the ceiling, curling into a heart shape before dissipating into the air.

"It smells like whatever attracts you the most," you mumbled to yourself, fighting the urge to sniff the potion outright.

"It's kind of weird, isn't it?" Jamil said to no one in particular, though he knew he couldn't expect a reply from anyone but you. "Being able to fit everything attractive to you into a scent."

"Wouldn't be weird for you though," you stuck your tongue out with a smile as Jamil quirked an exasperated eyebrow at you. You grinned and winked at him. "All you'd smell is my perfume."

"How about you shut up and I forget this conversation ever happened?" Jamil smiled at you sarcastically and stared at you with judgmentally wide eyes. You barked in laughter and stretched so your sleeve slipped down and showed your bicep.

"You want to kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid," you raised your eyebrow, holding back a giggle when Jamil's face contorted with what must have been rage.

"Yeah, I'm bleaching my memory," Jamil groaned and turned to the cauldron, pulling out a paper to take notes. You had been bothering Jamil long enough to notice how his breath quickened ever so slightly and the tips of his ears darkened. For some reason, that always happened when you said something offhandedly flirty to rile him up.

"He's so easy to make angry," you thought, rolling your eyes with a smile. There was no other logical explanation for his sudden bothered behavior.

After you had made a few observations about the potion, you couldn't contain your curiosity about the scent.

You wafted the steam towards your nose and took in the scent. It didn't smell exactly "attractive", whatever that meant, but it smelled happy. You could pick out the faint dusty musk of the Ramshackle dorm, complete with the smokiness of the fireplace and the sweetness of cherry blossoms in the spring. Everything seemed normal and comforting, all except for one thing. Somehow, the strong, spicy aroma of garam masala had forced it's way into your perfect dream.

You were confused for a moment before looking over to Jamil and rolling your eyes. He lifted a eyebrow in defensive confusion.

"I can't even smell anything over all your stupid spices," you scoffed, crossing your arms as Jamil looked around in confusion. "You're messing with the potion!"

"I'm messing with the potion?" He inquired sarcastically. He exhaled in amusement and smirked slyly at you. "How would you even know what I smell like, Y/N?"

You felt your face heat up and you snapped your gaze away from Jamil, forcing yourself to focus on the potion. He, however, was having too much fun getting a rise out of you to quite now.

"You know the potion only smells like something you find attractive, right?"

Your eyes widened as you remembered that crucial detail. Heat rose on cheeks as you stuttered through your words, trying to find an explanation.

"It-It's not- I didn't- I don't- That's not what that meant!"

Jamil just raised his eyebrow, thoroughly amused by your speechlessness. He couldn't explain why he liked seeing you flustered so much. He assumed it was because he enjoyed the feeling of having power over someone else but his brain kept nagging him about how cute it was when your cheeks puffed up in a flustered pout.

You closed your eyes out of embarrassment as you kept thinking how you really were attracted to him and his "stupid spices". You considered trying to gaslight him into pretending none of that ever happened, but a part of you, albeit a small part, wanted him to know how you felt.

You banged your head on the table with a painful thud. After a few seconds, you felt the dull warmth of a hand hovering over your shoulder but it pulled back before it could touch you.

"Are you," Jamil started but cleared his throat when his voice came out too high. "Are you okay?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" You laughed humorlessly and shifted your head away from him. "I just accidentally confessed to my crush of 2 years who hates me."

"Two-" Jamil's breathing hitched. "Two years?!"

You looked over to Jamil and glared at him from under your eyelashes. He raised his hands in surrender.

"I just," he ran a hand through his hair and took a deep breath. "Two years."

"Yes, it's stupid, I know!"

"You mean to tell me that you have a crush on me?"

"Do I really have to say it again?"

"For two years?"

You groaned and banged your head on the table a couple more times for good measure.

"Yes! Two years, dingus! Keep up!"

Jamil stared at you, wide-eyed, for what felt like forever before he actually said anything.

"By the Sorcerer, you'd better be joking," he scoffed. You popped up in your chair, staring at Jamil with an incredulous sneer. "I've known you long enough to know that you hate me with a burning passion. I must commend you, though. This is particularly cruel."

You jumped up and grabbed Jamil by the shirt collar. Your nostrils flared as you fumed, unable to contain your anger but not foolish enough to crack when every student in the classroom had their eyes on you. You huffed and dragged Jamil out to the hallway by his tie, the professor not bothering to stop you since he had a betting pool with the other teachers on when the two of you would finally admit your feelings for each other.

When you finally got to a private enough spot, you slammed Jamil against a wall and stared him dead in the eye.

"I don't joke about stuff like that, Viper. I'm not stupid," you sneered, your angry flush mixing with the heat already covering your face. "I have gone two Seven-forsaken years having to look at your stupid face and pretend like I hate you. And you know what? I do hate you. I hate that I've stayed awake at night thinking about you. I hate that you can still make me nervous after all this time. I hate that I associate the smell of spices with you because you always smell like masala. I hate everything about you! Especially how much I love you!"

Jamil stared at you in shock, his face dark with blush. You turned your head away with your arms still caging him in. When you were that close, you could feel his breaths on your neck.

"Well if that's what it means, then, Y/N L/N, I hate you too," Jamil spat without any malice. You could tell he was only pretending to be vicious. "I hate how you laugh when you tease me and I hate that it's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. I hate that you smile at everyone but me. I hate your stupid hair and how much I want to run my fingers through it."

You looked back, on the verge of tears, with a hopeful glimmer in your eyes. Jamil smiled at you and you laughed in a mix of anxiety and happiness.

"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!" you guffawed, Jamil raising an eyebrow at your outburst. "If you keep talking like that, I might start thinking you actually like me."

Jamil hummed in amusement and smirked, snaking his hand behind your neck.

"That would be absolutely terrible," he mused, eyes flicking to your lips. You rolled your eyes and pressed your lips to his.

His fingers tangled in your hair as your hands shifted from your kabedon to rest on his back, pulling him closer to you. You smiled into the kiss and held back a giggle as it finally hit you that your crush loved you back.

Eventually, you pulled away and rested your forehead against his, catching your breath as you smiled.

"I hate you so much right now."

Crowleu laughed proudly as he held his hand out to a thoroughly annoyed Crewel. The alchemy professor dug through his pockets for a 20 madol note and begrudgingly slapped it into Crowley's hand.

Crowley did a little victory dance, waving the note around like a flag. Crewel sighed and rolled his eyes at the immature headmaster.

"I knew I was gonna win," Crowley preened, quite proud of himself. "I have amazing predicting skills."

"I'm gonna be honest, I though they wouldn't last a month without giving in," Trein chimed in. He hadn't participated in the betting pool, claiming that it was childish and ridiculous but really, he just didn't want to lose to Crowley again. The whole staff could swear on the Seven, that bird had a supernatural talent for guessing new student couples. Trein sighed and shook his head. "Those kids are just too stubborn."

"You got that right," Crewel muttered, a scowl burned into his features. "I'm never making another bet with that d4mn crow."

Opening a long thread of me thinking which dorm leaders Yukiko could beat up in a physical fight! ~🧵

In a magical fight, Riddle would definitely win against a first-year student that is also a newbie using magic, but having in mind that he's not exactly very strong in a psychical way and he's just slightly taller than her...

Yeah, I'd say it's an easy win for our girl

🦁Leona

As much as our girl would LOVE to knock her dorm leader down to the ground, he's not one of the two princes from Sunset Savannah for nothing and he's shown to surpass even his other dorm students, and he's also very smart.

Even though she can knock down taller people and more robust than her, something tells me that she's still got some training to do if she wants to win against him.

🐙Azul

Sorry, Azul.

As much as I like you, we know you're not... exactly very strong, and you're not very good at P.E. either...

I can say without much of a doubt that, as long as there's no magic or Leech twins involved, Yukiko would easily win against him in a fight.

☀️Kalim

Scarabia's dorm leader is very active, and he's a great dancer, so he's got stamina and good moves.

But he's not much of a fighter, he'd rather find a peaceful solution over a big feast over violence.

And Yukiko would never even think about laying a finger on this kind, adorable ray of sunshine that does nothing but being one of the best bois in NRC, in any case, she would give him hugs and join him in his dances.

In a few words, I objectively think she could win, but she'd never want to hurt him and vice versa.

👑Vil

This one is interesting.

On the one hand, I think that this fight would take quite some time to end, since both are strong and good in martial arts (let's keep in mind Vil had to practice some for his job as an actor).

On the other hand, Vil has been able to knock even Floyd to the ground, and he's also very observant. Not to mention he's way taller than Yukiko.

So I think that if Yukiko trips even a bit or makes a small mistake, Vil would take the chance to win against her. Unless Yukiko uses some move that lets her knock him down quickly, just as she did with that Savanaclaw student when she visited her dorm for the first time.

That or it will be the same result as Leona.

💀Idia

...A definite win.

Yeah, Idia is also way taller than her, but having in mind that he's bad at sports, has a low stamina and spends most of his time sitting in his room...

Yeah, he would be an easy ein for her. I even bet Idia would try to escape from her before even trying to face a Savanaclaw student, no matter how small and cute she looks.

Sorry Idia, but I'm being objective here.

🐉 Malleus

Yukiko respects Malleus, she's not afraid of him, they get along and she trusts him being around her brother (heck, she respects him more than Leona, her own dorm leader)

That said, he's a fae. He's naturally stronger than a human in more than one way, he's way taller than her and has been trained and tutored by Lilia, a retired war veteran, for over a century as a crown prince...

So, even if there's no magic in a fight against one of the strongest magicians,Yukiko is smart enough not to try and face him in a fight.
