timkon; tim never takes naps, so something must be wrong.
Tim bobs up to wakefulness reluctantly. Someone's hand is in his hair. It's nice, though—no pain, no promise of violence. A soothing touch. A familiar one.
"Heya, Rob. Taking a nap?"
With great effort, Tim squints his eyes open. A blurry blob of black, red, and blue. Something round. Shades? Something shiny. Spikes? Knives? Who cares. He closes his eyes again.
"You okay? Did you pass out again?"
"Nnnn." Tim swats at the fingers trying to turn his face. "No. Head hurts."
The hand drift back to his hair, petting slightly. "Cassie, can you come here? Tell me if he's burning up."
Cool fingers touch his forehead. Tim scrunches up his face, trying to duck away. "Oh, yeah. He's got a tiny fever. I'm going to go grab some meds."
A soft whoosh. The hand in his hair pulls away for a moment. Tim whines, reaching out blindly. He hits fabric. Latches on.
"Shh, shh, it's okay."
Tim peeks open an eye again. It causes a sharp stab of pain to shoot through his head. "Kon," he says.
"Yeah, buddy. You pulled another all-nighter, didn't you? Do we need to hold another intervention about self-care?"
"Kon," Tim complains. Then he loses track of everything again, head screaming and body feeling way too heavy. He hates being sick.
"Okay, let's get you to bed," says Kon, voice soft. He picks Tim up without dislodging the death grip Tim has on his shirt. His TTK continues brushing through Tim's hair as they move away from the lounge area up to their quarters.
Seemingly between one heartbeat and the next, Tim is nestled in his bed. The lights are off and the room is quiet. The door slides open and Cassie slips in.
"Here." She drops onto the bed and helps Tim sit up. "Come on. Just swallow this and then you can go back to sleep, okay?"
Tim swallows the pill and the water obediently. His eyes are barely open. When the water is gone, Cassie leans over and smacks a loud kiss on his forehead. Before she leaves, she turns back to call, "Get better soon, okay, co-leader?"
He lies back down, whimpering only slightly when he accidentally falls a little too hard onto the pillow. "Urghhh."
"Need to throw up?"
"No..." Tim lifts his arms to cover his head. "I'm fine," he says, muffled. "You don't have to babysit me."
Kon hums. The bed dips again. The comforter lifts, and then Kon is pressing up against Tim's side. Immediately, without question, Tim curls into him. An ingrained habit, a natural instinct.
"You know, I think you're right. It is the perfect time for a nap."
Tim wants to argue, but his head is fuzzy again. A gentle pressure pushes him more firmly into Kon's arms. He huffs out a breath, feeling Kon's warmth seep into his own skin. And then, like a wink, Tim's gone.

WIP WEDNESDAY GAME
Slimmed-down post/rules, but originally taken from @kedreeva.
It’s WIP Wednesday! This week's theme is "how complicated can we make the concept of predestined soulmates, like just in general??".
Here’s how it works:
I will post the file names of five WIPs, and will also post a snippet of new content from one of them to get the ball rolling.
Send me an ask with the name of one of the listed WIPs and I will write you a minimum of three sentences in that WIP in response!
Multiple requests are fine, but I’d prefer if you sent them in separate asks. Just a little easier for me to fill them that way.
If you’re reading this, you’re invited!
WIP names:
soulmate Timberkon
the one where Kon's soulmark isn't fake
the one where Kon's soulmark IS fake
Amazon Kon
Jaykon soulmates, Timkon datemates, and the wrong Superboy
snippet from “soulmate Timberkon”:
Bernard is born with his soulmark, which says "Robin" in very neat, typewriter-perfect print: like someone popped a rubber stamp on his chest. His parents say it's a good sign; that it means his soulmate is going to be a modest and careful and responsible girl. Bernard just hopes she won't be a boring girl.
At the time, "Robin" is a perfectly normal and unremarkable name to have for a soulmark.
When he's two, it stops being unremarkable, because when he's two, Batman gets Robin.
Bernard overhears his parents arguing about his mark, once.
"It's a vigilante name, not a real name," his dad says. "The kid can't possibly be Bernard's soulmate."
"People aren't going to know that!" his mom says. "Bernard was born with his mark! And who even knows if it's really the kid's name or not, anyway?! If anyone ever sees it–"
"No one has to see it," his dad says, and Bernard thinks they're worried about a bad guy maybe hurting him because they think he's Robin's soulmate.
"What would people even say?!" his mom says, and then he realizes that him getting hurt isn't what they're worried about.
He hadn't actually realized "Robin" was a unisex name. His parents had always called his soulmate a girl. Had always made a point of calling his soulmate a girl.
So he figures out pretty early on that if his soulmate isn't a girl, it's going to be a problem.
A really, really big problem.

speaking as someone who wasn't part of the DC fanbase in the 2000s by virtue of being a small child, can you. fucking imagine. what it was like to be a fan of tim and kon back then. nothing huge, they'd be cute together now that they've grown out of their past antagonism and are now the best! of friends! who support each other -- tim assures kon of his own humanity, refers to kon as family. kon, in turn, helps tim shoulder the grief of losing jack and is notably territorial over tim's status as robin. aw, that's sweet--
and then kon fucking dies, as one does. crosses the wrong rainbow bridge. body's going cold by the time tim reaches him. they were his colours.
and then, for the next few years, you're periodically hit with the most deranged content possible. what happens next far, far exceeds whatever inhinged nonsense DC's own timkon fans could have come up with. tim is pretending to be coping well, and a full year later, he is in fact coping so well that he's trying clone or ressurrect kon through any means possible. this brings him (and the titans) in direct opposition against the brotherhood of evil, whose leadership consists of, wait for it, a gay gorilla and his gay lover, a gay brain in a jar. their gay evil goal is to give the brain in a jar a new body so they can live happily ever after. tim is quietly devastated when their attempt at cloning Brain said new body fails. their final appearance in that issue has the Brain quote nietzsche: "there is always some madness in love. but there is also always some reason in madness."
seven (7) pages later, tim's ninety-fifth attempt at remaking kon fails. he starts destroying his lab equipment in a fit of rage. cassie exclaims that even if tim did succeed, it wouldn't really be conner, to which tim says, he'd be close enough. we could make him close enough.
hey tim what the fuck is wrong with you (don't answer that)
absolutely nobody at all, zero people:
DC: this disembodied brain and his boyfriend, a french gorilla named monsieur mallah, mirrors tim's struggle to live without his beloved friend and show tim the futility of trying to bring him back to life
it. it just keeps. just keeps going. no time to catch your breath. my best friend died. i couldn't accept it, tim says melodramatically, a single manly tear rolling down his cheek. i couldn't lose you too. i know it wouldn't have been you, conner, but it would have been something.
and it keeps going. bleeding out. will i see conner? hope so, tim thinks, because his priorities are in order. the rooftop hug. why so happy? let me guess. sale on leather?
if you need me, just yell. i'll hear you. i know you will, conner. and thanks. for what? for believing in me.
elsewhere, a sentient plant makes kon hallucinate his greatest fears and they are, get this,
1. tim not liking him (agh!)
2. tim hating him (agh!)
3. tim dying (agh!)
we haven't even reached you'll always be my robin. you'll always be my clone boy. that's the gratuitous, almost vestigial cherry in top at this point.
... like. imagine being a DC fan pre-infinite crisis and thinking robin and superboy were pretty cute, and had great chemistry, not expecting anything too crazy. and then spending the next five to six years getting repeatedly kicked in the face. i just know those livejournal forums were popping back when adventure comics #3 (2009) dropped

44 and/or 50 for timkon or platonic timbart?
50. “Nothing is wrong with you.” + platonic timbart
"Rob," Bart starts, and says nothing until Tim hums absently, "what's wrong with me?"
Tim pauses at that. He sets down the case file he'd been working on, and turns in his swivel chair to look at Bart properly.
Bart's on his bed, laid flat on his back with his limbs starfished, and he's staring up at the ceiling. He doesn't look like someone who just asked what's wrong with them.
"...could you run that by me again?"
"I think there's something wrong with me," Bart says, instead of asks. He's resolutely still staring up at the ceiling.
"Okay." This is- Tim did not think he'd have to have this conversation today. He carefully stands and moves to sit next to Bart's leg, then changes his mind and just lies next to him. "Why do you think there's something wrong with you?"
Bart turns his head to blankly stare at Tim for that. Which, fair.
Tim sighs. Bart looks back up at the ceiling. Tim stares up at it too. "Nothing is wrong with you, Bart," he says softly.
"Everyone else says there is," Bart says, quiet. "Max...he didn't say it, but I know he thought it."
"I remember when you didn't doubt me," Tim says, just for the snort Bart gives. "There's nothing wrong with you, you're just different. It's how you are. You weren't built for this world."
"Different sounds like a nicer way of saying wrong."
Tim sighs. "When I first became Robin," Tim starts, and Bart turns to look at him in interest. "I had to get a new cape, because the one the Robins before me had used with no issue made me have a panic attack if I wore it when I didn't have to. The color, the weight, the fabric- it was all wrong. But I liked the feeling of a cape, just not that cape, and it was a Robin staple. So B had a new one made for me."
"Didn't know Batman cared so much."
"He does, he's just got odd ways of showing it," Tim says. "The feeling of satin makes me want to curl up and die. I'm bad at talking to people cause I don't always consider what I'm saying and the implications of it, which can make me sound like an asshole. I self-isolate when I'm spiraling, even though I'm really bad at self-isolating. My brain sometimes moves so fast the rest of me can't keep up, and when around me is loud and hectic, and I'm already worked up, I get overwhelmed which makes me angry and upset."
"Me too," Bart says. "I've got a short fuse when I'm overwhelmed. I lashed out at Jenni when we first met cause I was going through a lot and she wasn't helping, and it wasn't fair to her."
Tim hums. "Sucks, doesn't it?" Bart makes a noise that Tim takes as a yes. "Um, I've got a hard time with boundaries. I lie a lot, but I don't like when people can't just say what they mean in regular conversation instead of making me guess. I go through these periods of obssession with things, and they can last for months, or even years." Tim stops, and asks, "is there something wrong with me?"
"Well...no," Bart says, sounding baffled, and glances at him briefly, "you're just you."
"My point exactly." Tim grabs Bart's hand; squeezes. "You're just you, Bart. Nothing is wrong with you."
Bart squeezes back.

Are your ships the jealous type?
Thanks for the question!
I'm gonna start with BatFam first this time.
BatFam:
Birdflash: I honestly can't see either of these two being the jealous type. I say this because they've both dated their fair share of people that the other person knows. So if they were a jealous type it would kind of isolate a lot of their friend group. And I just can't see that happening. Besides birdflash strikes me as being very secure in their relationship so they have no reason to be jealous.
Jayroy: Oh 100%. Both of them are. Not to their friends who have dated their significant other because they see that as the past. However, I could definitely see them getting jealous if a new person were to flirt with either of them. I could see Jason and Roy going to a parent-teacher conference or a school function and meeting one of Lian's teachers who is just obsessed with Roy being a single parent. She is constantly complimenting him and saying how hard it must be that he doesn't have a wife. Meanwhile, Jason is repeating in his head "It is not okay to shoot people it is not okay to shoot people it is not okay to shoot people". It doesn't often happen with Jason because he is technically dead. Yet when it does happen Roy acts the same way.
TimKon/TimBernKon: This one was hard. On one hand, I can't see Tim ever getting jealous because he's Tim Drake. He is technically the catch in their relationship because he is a CEO millionaire (billionaire?). However, I can see him getting jealous in certain situations. Most of the time it's not over Bernard it's over Kon. Not that Bernard isn't attractive but he's not SuperBoy. Plus Kon's got that whole bad boy look about him. So I could see him easily pulling both men and women without even trying. His boyfriends don't fault him for that but they will stare daggers if anyone tries. Some people have also been known to have unfortunate things happen to them out of nowhere. No one can prove that it's Tim and they never will.
JonDami: See my first instinct was Damian. However, I could definitely see this being both of them. Damian is jealous when it comes to Jon because Jon is the golden boy and people often wonder what he's doing with Damian. However, on the flip side, Damian is fucking Damian Wayne. He is rich, intelligent, creative, and successful. So a lot of people may be vying for his attention. Which is why I could see Jon being jealous of anyone who gets to spend time with Damian because of their status.
StephCass: This is another one that I can't see it being either of them. Steph and Cass are very secure in their relationship and each other. Therefore there is no reason for them to be jealous. Even though Cassandra grew up as an assassin, I think her and Stephanie are pretty evenly matched as couples go. Therefore there's no real way to make the other jealous.
The Mighty Ducks:
Banksway: Both of them are the jealous type And I will die on that hill. However, it's for different reasons. Adam is the jealous type because he's always worried he's not enough for Charlie. Or that Charlie would be better off with someone else. Charlie is the jealous type because of his background. Since Adam and he come from two very different backgrounds I could see Charlie being jealous of any one who is on the cake-eater side of things.
Wudoza: Kenny is probably the jealous type before they get together. After they get together neither of them is the jealous type. I say this because after they get together they've already chosen each other so there's no reason for them to be jealous. In Kenny's mind, he already won he got the boy. Therefore he has no reason to be jealous.
Gerreau: I think both of them have had their moments of jealousy but I don't think they're the jealous type. I think it's normal for most couples to be jealous when they see somebody flirting with a person that they like. However, Connie and Guy strike me as very secure In their feelings for each other so unless they were on a break or something I can't see either of them being jealous in the relationship.
Tammy/Fulton: I've Written Fulton as the jealous type. However, I think that's the same thing with Connie and Guy where they're only jealous when they're not in a relationship with each other. However, I could see once they get together it doesn't really affect them. There's no reason for them to be jealous because like Kenny they've already won.
Thank you for the ask!

tell me about the purring fics. i must know. 1 2 AND 3
YEAHHHH OKAY THE PURRING FICS!!!!!
So! I’m actually going to try and find the dates of my initial ideas for them, bc some of them are older than the others!
Technically speaking my first purring fic idea is from March 6, which was simply, “kon can purr and tim makes it his mission to make him so happy/content that he does so,” which kind of evolved into purring fic #3.
Purring Fic #1: Injuries and Consequences
The first purring fic is from March 23, it looks like. This is actually one of the ones I’ve mentioned to you before!
Kon first discovers he can purr pretty soon after he came out of the tube, even if he doesn’t really know what’s up with it, specifically. He doesn’t purr very often. He thinks it’s embarrassing. Over time he does get more comfortable with it, but it’s still something that’s weird for him & as he gets more comfortable with it another problem arises.
Tim, mostly thinking to himself out loud, brings up that Kon’s purring might have a similar kind-of-healing effect that a cat’s would. Kon hears this and goes “oh, yeah, that’s a way to help people” and starts to try and make himself purr for other people when they’re injured. Usually it’s easy enough—he likes spending time with most of the people he’s trying to help, and usually he can also do something else or have them pet his hair or something depending on the person—but over time it gets harder and harder, and he purrs less and less when he would genuinely be otherwise.
What he doesn’t realize is that he’s building up an association between him purring and one of his loved ones being injured, which isn’t really conductive to feeling happy and safe and content. He doesn’t even notice when he altogether stops purring normally. He doesn’t notice anything’s wrong until he tries to make himself purr again for an injury and he just can’t do it. Even then, he doesn’t really bring it up with anyone else. It can’t be that big of a deal, right?
He wouldn’t be surprised if Tim did this on purpose. Not the getting stabbed part—not this time, at least—but the falling asleep on him part. He’d suggested before that Kon’s purring might have a similar soothing, kind-of-healing effect that a cat’s would, and if Kon had a hole in his gut he’d probably want some magic healing sound effects too.
He can purr. Sure, it won’t be natural, and, sure, it might feel weird, but he can see how Tim’s face scrunches up even in his sleep and he knows that he can help, so he will. He can purr. Except he can’t.
This fic is also where the first timkon quote I’ve ever posted is from! This one:
“Mm…” Tim tilts his head. It’s obscenely cute for someone who’s probably in the middle of psychoanalyzing him.
The fic would probably follow Kon from getting more comfortable with purring to only purring to help soothe others to not being able to purr at all to trying to start getting better with everything purr-related, with maybe flashbacks or dreams or something to get in points with what happened between him first figuring out he can purr and the start of the story. I think the original plan was for that to be included more thoroughly in the fic, but at this point it mostly depends on how big of a project I want this fic to be whenever I do come back to elaborate on it.
Purring Fic #2: The Sickfic
Exactly what it says on the tin! This one is from March 26. It has less of a focus on the purring bits than the others, mostly being centered on the whole sick part of sickfic. It’s also a bit shorter; it was always meant to be a oneshot while the others were meant to be longer!
Kon gets sick. I don’t know if I ever specified how? He gets sick and it sucks and he is very unhappy about it, understandably so. He tosses and turns in bed and is already icky from being sick and on top of that him being sick for whatever reason makes him even more aware of his senses, so he’s overwhelmed from everything going on around him on top of that.
Tim takes care of him while he’s sick. He does his best to make sure that there isn’t any more sensory input than there has to be, and he stays with him as much as he can. Most of this fic would be Tim taking care of Kon, basically. Kon feels icky and gross and Tim helps as much as he can. The purring comes in at the end, when he’s just exhausted and out of it and Tim’s running a hand through his hair and even though he’s sick he just feels content in that moment. He doesn’t even know he can purr, let alone that he did purr, until afterwards when Tim tells him he was.
He groans yet again when his door clicks open. Tim says nothing as he shuffles into the room, the door shutting with a thump behind him. A plastic bag crinkles in his hand. He opens his eyes to look and immediately shuts them again. It’s too bright. He rolls onto his stomach to bury his face in his pillow, then barely a second later rolls back onto his back because his nose is still all stuffy and he couldn’t breathe right. Something—the lightswitch?—makes a plasticky click across the room, and even with his eyes closed the darkness feels so much better. The plastic bag’s rustling and light footsteps’ thumping and Tim’s heartbeat and all of his inner organs’ sloshing noises come closer. Tim’s hand presses against his forehead and it’s kinda gross with all the sweating but it’s cool and the touch might fry his brain a bit in a bad way but it fries it in a good way too and he tries to lean into it with what he thinks has to be the most pathetic sound he’s ever made ever.
This is also where another one of my already posted quotes comes from:
Ugh, he just wants to turn off sound. All of it. The world’s sound rights are gonna get revoked and Kon is gonna be the one to do it.
This one probably fits the category of “purring fic” the least. It’s mostly here because of a followup idea, one to make it part of a series where Tim tries to make him purr more often or tries to figure out what makes him pure and Kon tries to get more used to the fact that that’s even a thing he can do. Which, now that I think about it, is kind of similar to another idea I had.
Purring Fic #3: I am going to punch Tana Moon directly in the face
The other one that I’ve told you about! From March 28. Apparently all of these came from the same week of time, which is wild.
Kon figured out that he can purr around when he got into his relationship with Tana. Most of the beginning stuff stays pretty similar to the start of fic #1, except with more of Tana’s… everything. Kon only really purrs around her because he still to some degree finds it embarrassing, and he thinks he wouldn’t be taken seriously as a cool, awesome hero if he purred. He gets flustered whenever he does wind up purring, usually exemplified by some comment Tana makes about it.
Kon represses everything hard when Tana dies, including purring. He just doesn’t purr after her death. He doesn’t even think about it. Honestly, he just completely forgets that he even can purr until someone else brings it up years later because apparently he’s been purring while he sleeps. His purring being brought back up drags a lot of things back up with it, and he can’t just ignore them now that he knows that they exist.
Bart tilts his head. “Why don’t you ever purr? I’ve heard it. You were sleeping and you told me to pet your hair so I did, and you started purring.” he nods sagely. “It was very cute.”
A muscle in Kon’s arm jumps. Aw, you can purr? That’s adorable!
“Don’t call it that.” He says it meaner than he means to, but any remorse is buried under the memory of the last time someone found out.
This one would also cover a longer period of time and recover like #1, too, though what exactly it covers would be slightly different.
Secret Bonus Purring Fic #4 (I counted wrong): “I Need to Pet You for Research Purposes”
The only one on here that isn’t hurt/comfort, as well as the only one (primarily?) from Tim’s POV! From… three or four days ago, I think? Tho it expands on another idea from June 4.
Tim notices that Clark and Jon can purr and realizes that Kon can probably purr too. This is actually the one that #2 reminded me of! Tim figuring out that Kon can purr through Clark and Jon could be substituted with the events of #2 with minimal changes. I think I like how it is now, but that is an option I’m gonna keep in mind :]
Tim notices that Kon can probably purr and decides that the best thing to do would be to embark on an adventure of using the scientific method to figure out if he really can and how to make him. Most of his initial attempts fail, but eventually he does figure something out.
This would be part of a trilogy of either oneshots or short chapter fics, all following timkon with Tim doing some scientific method something instead of talking about things like a normal person. I’m v heavily considering also doing a sister series thing with Kon’s POV, but I’d want to finish the initial ones first before branching it into something else.
This all also also reminds me of another idea I had a while back, where Tim spends waaay too long watching and observing Kon for Kon to not notice it. For this fic, though, at least the first one, Kon doesn’t really notice something’s up aside from Tim just being kind of weird. Not weird enough for it to be out of his usual range, though, so not weird enough for him to bring it up as a concern.
This one doesn’t have a quote yet, but it does have more of a solid outline than the other three!
That’s it for the purring fics, at least that I can remember! I could probably go on about them more, but I’ve already written more than I thought I would! V happy to continue about them, though, as well as any other ideas :]] It was fun to talk about them!!

trendsetter (i had depression before it was cool)
tim&kon, hints of romantic timkon 2.3K also on ao3
Conner's a good friend, but it's not just being a good friend that told him exactly how to be there for Tim in the Paris underground. He knows how to navigate depressive spirals because he's been there a time or two himself.
/////
The Mario Kart loading screen is dark, and after at least two hours of gaming, it feels like a welcome break to Kon's overloaded senses.
But before Kon can truly relish it, Tim recognizes the still and quiet, too. The feeling of finally being alone together, for one fleeting moment, before the bright noise colors their walls again.
"I don't think I thanked you enough, for Paris," is all Tim says. "So. Thank you. For being there. For believing me. I know with the timeline changes, it's all a little fuzzy. But I remember that you gave me something to hold onto. I needed it. Just -- thank you."
If Kon is being honest, it takes him a minute to realize exactly what Tm means. They've been to Paris a lot over the years for various hero business. But Kon thinks, there's probably only one thing Tim would be thanking him for. Tim's voice doesn't sound as empty and hollow as it did back then, but Kon can still hear it like an echo.
"You don't have to thank me for that," he says. "We're friends. It was important to you."
"Still." Tim's eyes don't break from the screen. Earlier he was fixated like the game was a case; now Tim just looks distracted. Thinking back to the time before, when everything was a mess and he was falling apart. Kon is just glad he can say -- confidently -- that Tim is no longer on the ledge. "I know my reaction to you coming back to life was -- lackluster."
"You made up for it." Kon's a little distracted, too. He taps one of his fingers against the game controller, separate from the buttons. Impatient, suddenly; not enough input from his side of things to make the game occupy all of his brainspace. He wishes it would. If he was racing Bart at the version of the game that was triple-speed, then maybe this would work, but he's racing Tim on normal speed, and- "You're happy I'm back. You're happy a lot of people are back, man. You couldn't just focus on me, I knew there were other people you were still either grieving or trying to save. It's all good."
Tim almost-smiles, but it's as much a purse of his lips. "You don't think you deserved a little more of a welcome-back?"
Kon actually rolls his eyes. "Does it matter? We're not going to mess with time travel, so if you're bummed about how you responded, don't be, 'cause it's not like we can change it."
Tim huffs though his nose.
"Besides, I've been there. Where you were." Kon says it like it's no big deal, but he feels Tim tense next to him. Kon fixes his eyes a little more pointedly on the game, despite the creeping suspicion that Tim is watching him, now, instead of Rosalina. "It's -- everything. When you're that low, everything good is so far out of reach. When I saw you, I just figured... it'd be nice to give you what I wanted most back then."
"And that would be?"
Tim's voice is scarily even.
"Well. I mean, in lieu of getting all my dead- you know whats back," Kon says, and feels their ghosts like an itch in his spine. "...I could've used a friend."
Tim crosses the finish line first, but Kon doesn't look at him. The grip he has on his controller is tenuous at best. He's gripping it so tightly with Kryptonian strength that he thinks it should have shattered -- but his TTK is wrapped securely around it.
Physicists would love him.
"A friend," Tim repeats. "Kon..."
"Or," Kon says, swallowing very hard as the screen darkens again. "Just- someone who would just sit next to me and not make it weird, even if I felt like the biggest waste of space and most dangerous ticking time bomb on the planet. Even if I said I didn't need it."
Tim makes a sound like he's wounded. Which -- for Tim, is barely more than a choked-off breath. Not even vocalized, just a change in his breathing, like he's trying to control his heart-rate and junk.
Kon can't not listen to his heartbeat, though. Tim's right next to him, and he's never been very good at tuning out Tim's heartbeat when it's so close. Not when it's so familiar and comforting when he needs something to keep him grounded.
"Anyways," Kon continues. He presses the home button on the controller, and as player one, it takes them back to the loading screen. "You really don't need to thank me for anything, Tim. I just wanted to be there for you."
Kon wants to play the stoic hero so goddamn badly. But when Tim grips his knee and swivels Kon towards him, there's a small part that can't help but be relieved.
Conner Kent is many, many things. And a good friend is one of them. But whatever makes Superman the perfect, self-sacrificing, empathetic-but-stoic hero never got written into Kon's DNA.
"I didn't know what it felt like back then," Tim says, facing Kon now. And there's something so intense on his face that Kon breaks out into a sweat. Can't ignore that he's said something real, something that's given Tim this visceral of a response. "If I didn't know what it was like, I can't apologize for not knowing exactly how serious it was, especially when you shut me out."
For a second, Kon's heart reaches his throat.
This, he realizes. This is why he doesn't open up to people. Tim's reaction is so Bat that for a second, Kon actually wants to fly away and bury himself under a rock actually, because getting belittled for not reacting well to a major depressive state is, wow-
"Kon- Shit, that wasn't the best way to start out," Tim suddenly says, and Kon realizes that his face must reflect his feelings, because he feels like he's hovering on the ledge again, stripped of his powers again and about to jump without a flight ring. "I have a point. One that isn't-" He lets out another huff through his nose, frustrated with himself. "One where I don't act like an asshole."
Tim rests his hand on one of Kon's. The hands that are gripping the controller so tightly that it could shatter it the instant his TTK gives out.
Kon realizes Tim is trying to get him to let go. His chest does something funny; his heart beats all sorts of wrong. But he lets out a breath and, importantly, lets Tim take the controller from his hands before he breaks it.
"I was trying to say," Tim says, carefully unplugging the cord and winding it around the controller. "If I had known what it felt like, or what you'd needed, I would have been there. I thought you wanted to be alone, and I wanted to respect that. I never would have let you hide away like that, if I'd known."
Kon can't look at him. He stares instead at the cord and controller and the way the console is still glowing.
He reaches for the power button. It manages not to crack upon contact.
"I wasn't telling you this so you could feel bad," he finally says, and holds out a hand for Tim.
Tim stares at him a moment.
"Your controller," he says, and Tim's face has the tiniest flicker of hurt before he acquiesces his controller. Damn it. "I mean it. It was a while ago, and I just wanted to be there for you when you went through it. Now you know, so it's no big deal."
There's something in his friend's eyes. "I'd say it's a pretty big deal. I should have-"
"We're even, anyways," Kon interrupts him. "You did visit me both times, I was just in too deep a funk to let you in."
Kon can see the gears turning in Tim's head. Trying to pinpoint exactly when this happened.
So he decides to spell it out for him. "Once in Cadmus, with Bart. You guys helped me get my life a little more in order then, actually -- I'd been sleeping basically all day for weeks, and living on coffee the few hours I was up." He cracks the faintest smile. "I've always been a trendsetter, I guess."
Tim doesn't laugh.
Kon tries to pivot, rubbing the back of his neck as he leans away. "Anyways. You can guess the other time it got bad -- I mean, you came to the farm. I heard you. I just couldn't bring myself to answer. That's my own fault. So we're even. You tried, you just didn't know how to reach me."
Tim looks grieved at the very suggestion. Even with no lights on in the room, and the sun having set hours ago, Kon's night vision has always been pretty good. The shadows on Tim's face are haunting. "Has it happened again since you've been back?"
There are things Kon thinks probably could have set it off again. Having people skim over his death because it's too painful for them, nevermind that he was the one to die, for one. But that's an old hurt, now, years after the fact. Being erased from this timeline and forgotten by all his friends hurt more. Losing his entire timeline and all his civilian relationships; knowing that no one in this reality would perfectly remember their old lives. That was worse than coming back from the dead.
Worse, though, was knowing he didn't have the power to save his loved ones. That Tim had been killed, basically -- but snagged away to an alternate time instead. Either way, Kon had been none the wiser on Gemworld, and Tim could have died permanently, if not for that extradimensional save.
He wants nothing more than to save his friends. That's all he wants.
This timeline makes Kon feel so completely out of his depth.
He's tired, he realizes. It really is late. Maybe he ought to turn in for the night. Spend some time at the farm, or maybe visiting old haunts. See what all is different.
Something squeezes in his chest.
"Kon?" Tim's voice brings him back.
"I'm good," he says. "Thanks. For asking, noticing -- you know. But you can put those detective skills away for right now. I'm alright."
Tim's face tells him he absolutely does not believe him.
Kon sends him a trademark grin, and gently -- very, very gently -- punches his arm. "Relax. I'm a little tougher than you're giving me credit for right now. Which, boo. I just kicked your ass in like eight rounds of Mario Kart, could a depressed person do that?"
"Parks n Rec hasn't been quotable in two years," Tim says. "You need new material. Something that isn't bad 90s and early 2000s TV or a sitcom."
"Recommend something that doesn't suck and I will," Kon says. He stands then, exaggeratedly stretching. "You staying the night here in the Tower?"
He knows for a fact that Tim plans on going back to Gotham using a zeta tube. He's just being polite, reminding Tim that he doesn't expect anything more than Mario Kart and someone who cares without being overbearing.
"Yeah, actually," Tim says. Kon stares after him. "You still got the pullout bed? I'm not tired yet, and you've got a thing for falling asleep to TV, so. I could put on something that doesn't suck, and I can make fun of you for falling asleep to it anyway."
Kon feels something in his throat tighten.
A small part of him wants to chase Tim away and sit by himself in the dark. Let memories and increasing isolation drive him into a new type of forcefield; one that not even Kon will be able to control if it gets strong enough.
Tim turns the TV input to a streaming service before Kon can say no. "You'll like it," he says. Looks up at Kon, the tiniest shred of caution in his eyes.
Kon knows what he's playing at.
Unwilling to be driven out. Just this once.
The pressure on his chest loosens, just for a moment. "If you say so," he says instead of no. "You got me to watch the Wendy reboot last month and it fucking sucked, it was so boring. Even if the original show wasn't great at least it was never dull. But." He pauses. "If you're really staying over- Let me grab the blankets."
The smile on Tim's face is small, but it's there. "If you thought the reboot was bad, wait'll you see the movie. They fucked up everyone's character so bad -- I barely recognized Wendy."
Kon laughs as he pulls out the trundle, grabs a stock of old blankets and sheets that he can't remember buying in this timeline, which might not mean anything. "No. No way. How bad?"
"I tried to buy the movie studio just to prevent them from making the sequel," he admits. "But that's alright. We'll always have the original. Or -- you know. Other shows. New stuff, to watch together." Tim gestures to the TV. "There's a couple I think you'd like. C'mon, watch just one episode of Stranger Things with me, okay? If you hate it we'll put on something else."
It doesn't take much work, putting on sheets with TTK. It takes even less work, somehow, sitting down on it with Tim against his side.
"Okay," he says.
Three episodes in, Kon is still awake. Tim's on his shoulder, though, asleep -- and that means he's alright, and he's not leaving tonight. Whatever breakdown Kon is -- was? -- on the verge of, is going to be postponed a little while longer.
A friend to sit by you, he thinks. When everything's in a fog and the only thing you can manage is to screw up -- that's what he needs most.
He eventually falls asleep, long before the missing boy is found, and long before the mystery of the Upside Down is solved.
Netflix asks Kon, in the morning light, if he's still watching. He blinks, and Tim is solidly asleep against his chest. He thinks, maybe, everything will be okay.

My heart skips a beat
TimKon, Fluff, Established Relationship, Humour.
A/N: This is based on a wonderful comic by @ghostiiest I saw it and immediately wanted to write a little something for it. I hope they don't mind!
Enjoy! :D
Staring at the screen Tim sighs feeling frustrated. The information in front of him isn’t telling anything that he didn’t already know, he’s been working this case for days and still hasn’t gotten anywhere near solving it yet.
Standing up and pushing away from his chair Tim stretches and just as he’s about to move he feels a presence come up behind him. He immediately knows who it is without looking, not only because he can recognise their presence no matter what but also because they hadn’t triggered his internal instincts, he didn’t even realise there was someone else in the room with him while he had been working. It’s a level of trust Tim has only with a select few.
Behind him, Kon presses his back against his and after a few beats of silence he speaks up. “You know I love ya, Wonder Boy.”
Feeling himself blush at the nickname and his words Tim stays silent to Kon’s declaration. Once upon a time he despised that nickname but now he admittedly adores it, only because it comes from the one person who he holds dear to his heart. If anyone else where to say the nickname Tim would deck them with no hesitation.
Tim continues to stay silent as he fights the blood rushing to his cheeks and the quickening beat of his heart. He knows damn well how good Kon’s hearing become and he knows Kon isn’t above using it to his advantage, even in situations like this one. It doesn’t help Kon also stays silent, although Tim could feel him shift behind him, Kon's now most likely scrutinizing him.
After more beats, of both from his heart pounding and the timepassing by, Tim looks over his shoulder at Kon whose now facing him.
“Tiiiim…” Kon drawls out with a knowing smirk on his face.
“What?” Tim turns around so they’re now properly facing one another.
Kon continues to grin at him, his eyes no doubt of mischief behind his circular sunglasses he always wears.
“Are you… flustered?”
To his annoyance Kon’s questions only makes his face grow hotter, by now his entire face must be red. Ignoring the blush, Tim glowers at Kon. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
To this Kon doesn’t say anything. Instead the other teenager leans in close to Tim, their faces inches apart, and he’s smirking. At the smile on Kon’s face Tim could feel himself breaking, a laugh is bubbling up inside him and is threatening to break free. He holds back as much as he could, making sure to stare at Kon through his mask (an act that used to be intimidating). His heart is still pounding inside his chest and by looking at Kon’s face Tim knew Kon was listening to its erratic rhythm.
In the end Tim does break and he snorts out a laugh. Grinning widely Tim shoves at Kon’s face pushing him away from him. After he’s finished laughing Tim tells Kon, “I used to be a good liar y’know?”
Looking smug, Kon rests his chin on his hand and beams at Tim. “Jigs up Rob! Just admit it; you love me.”
Knowing Kon is right Tim smiles at him, shrugging a shoulder he starts to lean towards Kon. “Hmm… I might,” he teases. In front of him Kon’s now wearing what Tim would deem is a dopey smile, one of pure love and adoration.
When Tim is close enough he presses their foreheads together and reaches up to cup Kon’s neck, his gloved hands tracing the soft unblemished skin there.
Behind the sunglasses Kon closes his eyes tightly as he continues to smile. In an almost breathless gasp he says, “Yeah?”
Tim tilts his head up slightly to line up their lips, he lets his ghost over Kon’s for a moment. “Maybe a little.”
With no more teasing Tim presses forward and Kon’s meets him halfway, their lips finally making contact. The kiss is deep and slow, every time their lips glide together it’s an unspoken passion between them, something they hope will never fade away.
They only part to breathe and they don’t stray far from one another. By then Kon’s hands were on Tim’s head, cupping the side of his face and jaw, and Tim is still holding onto Kon all the same.
Kon snickers and Tim feels his shoulders shake as he laughs. “Your hearts beating even faster now.”
Not even denying it Tim snorts at the comment, because it’s true, however he feels the need to point out, “You’re one to talk…” because Kon’s heart is beating just as fast as his, Tim could feel it in Kon’s chest even underneath all his clothes.
“Shut up!”
Before Tim could retort Kon effectively shuts him up with another kiss.

Notes: Yes this is the second post in my blog. Am I proud of it? Definitely not. Am I still gonna do it cause I have nothing else to do? Yes. I hope some peeps out there might find it useful though so,,, yeah!
Also, make sure to read the tags beforehand!! Stay Safe!
[ T ] the space between by nephelax
Romantic Pairings: Timkon (Not the main focus right now though)
Description:
Red Robin is a name meant for greatness. It echoes of a kid that had decided to step up as a hero that Batman needed, of a teen that shouldered burden after burden without complaint—of someone that, despite the pain and the grief and the losses, held his head high. A genius, a leader, and one of the best detectives that the world has ever seen. Red Robin is a name with weight. Tim, a high schooler whose last living memories involve a bridge and murky waters, can’t measure up to that. The ghost that lurks rent free in Tim’s head with a familiar looking insignia cracked in half on his chest says otherwise. or, how Tim realizes that he’s trapped in a world that’s supposed to be fictional, discovers that he somehow body-snatched a future Robin, and finds himself caught in the Bats’ orbit despite all his efforts not to (and maybe, just maybe, gets a family along the way too).
[ T ] Banshee In A Well by liverobinreaction (bugbee)
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
Tim is five years old when he drowns in his parents' pool. He dies quietly, waiting for parents who love him, but will never be there, to realise that something is wrong. They never show up, and he sinks into oblivion. When he wakes up and claws his way out of the water, the sun has set, and the lights of his house are on. He is cold and wet and his lungs burn. But most of all, Tim is alone. (If you die and no-one is there to see it, were you ever alive in the first place?)
[ T ] Happy Families Kill People Too by raven_of_hydecastle
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
Jack Drake loves his wife and son, even if they're giant, fire breathing reptiles that would rather eat the mailman than pick up a package. That's fine, he can deal. It'd just be nice if they weren't so territorial. Then they could actually be on the same continent without trying to kill each other. Oh well, every family has their challenges. The Drakes' just happen to be more homicidal than most. Feat. Dragon Tim and Janet's loving (but murderous) relationship, Jack's ongoing attempts to be a good dad, and the Waynes getting increasingly concerned about Tim's home life after he becomes Robin.
[ T ] unchanging by birdbat
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
A lot of people tell Tim that he looks just like his mother. They share the same eye color and shape, often cold and calculating. The same sharp smiles and ghostly pale skin, and the same, lean body frames that could almost be described as delicate. One last thing they have in common is an orange pill bottle. The only difference is the name. (Or how parents pass things on to their children.)
[ T ] so much you don't know by konan_konan
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
“Enough chatter,” Tim barks. Green Lantern grumbles. “You want to get through this, right? Then settle down. Alright. Workplace injuries.” He pauses, squinting at the slide. “We’ve seen nearly a 3% reduction in injuries this past quarter. Our goal was 5%. Do better.” “Hey,” says Flash, “it’s a dangerous job!” “Do better,” he repeats. or: tim drake is totally a pro at this whole batman thing.
[ G ] Talk To Me by A_Canceled_Stamp 🔒 (only accessible to ao3 users)
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
Bruce and Tim have a long-overdue heart-to-heart
[ T ] Into the Deep Dark Night by siren_of_the_ocean
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
Timothy Jackson Drake drowns in Gotham Bay with not a bang, but a whimper. Luckily...or not, Gotham isn't quite ready to give him up yet. “Spirits of children and women drowned, my child. They live in the ponds that glisten like tar. The Rusalka."
[ G ] Half the Size and Twice the Fun by raven_of_hydecastle
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
Ra’s was a class A manipulator, but luckily Tim was suspicious of strange men in cosplay dictating his life’s purpose. He doubted anyone would make a clone out of their most “formidable opponent” for the sole purpose of being creepy. There had to be an ulterior motive… Although it was creepy. So creepy.   AKA Tim is a clone, Young Justice has a new BFF, and Batman's adoption tendency has been sledgehammered with Post-Ethiopia grief, which means the JLA is now in charge of a miniature Batman despite almost none of them being parents. This can't end badly, can it?
[ T ] Under A Parent's Wing by IzzyMRDB
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
When Tim found out that Dick Grayson was a gymnastics instructor in Bludhaven, he quickly signed up. After all, learning gymnastics from The Nightwing himself is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Dick Grayson is more concerned at the obvious signs of child abuse he sees in one of his students. AKA Dick Grayson, as a childcare worker, is a mandated reporter who knows how to recognize child abuse in his students. Tim Drake, after a lifetime of fear and confusion, learns to trust adults.
[ T ] Newton's Third Law (Actions Have Consequences) by Megaerackles
Romantic Pairings: None
Description:
Tim wasn’t sure just how he had managed to go from having everything completely under control and according to plan to being locked in a holding cell in the motherfucking Batcave while all of his secrets were slowly unspooled around him in a single afternoon. Well, he knew how—happy, protected Jason-who-had-no-clue-who-Tim-was had suddenly gotten all of the memories of angry, overprotective Big-Brother-Red-Hood-Jason and had proceeded to kidnap him, just because he was apparently a ‘hazard to himself and reality’. But it had all happened so quickly that he was having trouble wrapping his mind around this new complication. “You know, I’d finally gotten used to being an only child again."
Welp, that's all for now! Hope you enjoy them, I might make another fic rec in my spare time. < 3

okay so i finally had a chance to read batman #134 (would have been sooner i got roped into doing flash cards for my husband after work)
so overall, not that it is without flaws, but i am generally a fan of how zdarsky has been writing bruce and tim.
like his bruce has been delightfully imperfect but also clearly means well in a way that i like to envision him. like favorite flavor of bruce here.
he has also been writing an absolutely delightful tim. a lot of writers say they're fans of him, but then i feel like they misunderstand what actually makes him so charming as a character but i feel like chip genuinely likes what i like about tim so i am happy for chip to continue writing him
alfred and leslie of the other universe are very enjoyable
wish we didn't have to insert the joker though
and of course: janet!!! janet!!! janet!!!
i could go on for days about how happy i am that zdarsky made her warm and maternal, begone ice cold business mom who wants tim to be a business baby
and how happy i am with her design. she's dressed in comfy clothes. she's not perfectly manicured with blood red nails. i adore her.
(did chip also go through ao3s tim drake tag and decide, nah i want loving mom janet instead?? he and i are on the same wavelength bless)
okay but all that aside i want to stress how fantastic it is that he made tim want a parent and decided to go for his mom for like the first time ever. it would have been so easy to do jack because that's what the comics generally have focused on and he decided to showcase someone who has basically never gotten development ever.
i love that she loves the robin poem because it makes me feel things about fate and about her telling tim at the circus he could be just like dick someday. it's all connected!!! her death was what made him robin. it's a beautiful detail to me to connect her to tim's identity like that.
anyways janet supremacy, i was right, you're all welcome for me manifesting this into canon, etc (jk)
that's her baby boy. she would recognize him not matter what 😭😭😭😭 she cried tears of happiness forever
i like the implication of "did your dad?" because they're clearly divorced but i wonder if after the divorce she became more present. maybe she was on a dig because it was jack's turn for tim or something? like they switch off weeks/months to accommodate their schedules better? this is assuming tim in her timeline in still <18.
look fanon drakes are going nowhere so long as people prefer tim to be a wayne, but i personally am more than happy to have this little slice of canon. it's all i ever wanted.
so i hope zdarsky is going to keep tim for a while (i am currently manifesting they canceled fitzmartin to give zdarsky more control over tim in dawn of the dcu since his tim seems to be seemingly better received by the masses. manifesting!!! also timkon.). but if tim does get dungeoned, i'll always have post-crisis and this run. <3

i would like 2 hear more about the timkon wedding pretty please
i talked abt timkon wedding ideas once here! some other thoughts, building off all that:
they are incredibly giddy all throughout the ceremony. bouncing on their feet keep grinning at each other and everything.
their vows are riddled with inside jokes and silliness as well as heartfelt sappy sentiment. tim is like "btw this is the abridged version. i wrote the rest down in a letter you can read later i just can't actually say it all out loud in front of an audience" and kon gets this biiig ol smile and goes "awww. you looove me." and tim just stares at him like. "yeah. that's. that's the point. that's why we're here kon"
kon wears a beautiful lacy white dress. ma, lori, cissie, and bart came with to help him pick it out; lori declared that if tim's first sight of kon in it didn't leave him stunned speechless, she'd call the wedding off bc no one who deserves kon would be capable of coherent thought seeing him in it <3
(not to worry. they do the private lil first look with the photographers and tim takes one look at kon and gets so excited that he has to turn around with a giant giddy grin and just flap his hands at the air for a minute out of sheer joy before he can actually face him. kon is so endeared by this and also delighted by tim's delight at seeing him AND by how pretty tim looks in his tux that he almost starts floating. they're both a bit of a mess.)
(tim is wearing a really pretty tux btw. later, at the reception, when he shrugs off his jacket and rolls up his sleeve bc they're dancing, kon cannot stop staring.)
dick is ofc tim's best man. this bears reiterating
cassie either is kon's best butch or the officiant ♥ if she's officiating, bart's kon's best man.
tim gets choked up during their first non-choreographed slow dance. he doesn't cry often, but the overwhelming joy of the fact that they made it, they're alive and they've grown up and they're here and they're married, and all their friends and family are here with them, just slams into him like a freight train as kon twirls him around.
he hasn't cried in so long that his chest gets tight and his throat closes up and his eyes start prickling and his first thought isn't "oh i'm crying" but "oh fuck did someone poison my champagne?!" before he realizes.
kon notices his heart rate spike a little and then sees him wiping at his eyes and just. "you just freaked out about crying and thought you, like, got poisoned or something. didn't you." bc he knows exactly how tim's brain works
and then kon (radiant, holding him, his husband, in a wedding dress, beautiful, holding him, his husband!!!) is laughing at him and they're pressed together and tim can feel it in his chest and. well. now hes crying harder while batting kon on the shoulder like shut up!! shut up!!
kon (a very good husband) whisks him away after that song ends to go hide in a private lil alcove somewhere so he can just hug tim and let him sniffle it out for a few minutes. all their friends tease about them sneaking off to make out but it's actually just kon being very considerate of his overstimulated hubby-wubby who is not used to processing such intense emotions on the spot. he needs a minute to cling and let it all wash over him and then he's like okay. okay okay im good now im normal
and then they make out. obviously.

Made up title: tell me what to do (ask me to stay)
o h h h i love this so much <3 thank u leo uwu
i'm sorry it's taken me so long to get to xD funnily enough, i actually have two wips that this title could fit ^^; and every time i went to answer this, i ended up writing down the plot to one of those, if slightly to the left.
almost just went with that anyway but THEN, finally, i came up with something that in hindsight feels obvious xD
Established TimKon, leading to eventual JayTimKon. Not sure if this would be a full BDSM au or if they just all three enjoy the lifestyle. Regardless: Tim's a Dom, Kon's a Switch, and Jason is a sub.
When Kon feels more like domming, they'll bring in a third. At first, there are a few people they reach out to, but slowly... They wind up inviting Jason more and more, until they're seeing him almost exclusively. (Usually together, sometimes separately uwu)
Jason... wants more. It's not something he notices at first; a quiet sort of longing/pining that doesn't really... register, not when he already spends a lot of his time aching to belong somewhere (to someone).
But then, for... [insert reason here] he ends up spending a weekend with them, and... He doesn't want to leave. He likes waking up with them, and going to bed with them, and sharing meals with them. Likes just... hanging out with them.
He thinks about saying something, but... What if he does and he loses them entirely? He doesn't think they'd cut him out, but thinks would be awkward. Strained. And... Jason is selfish. He doesn't want that. So he says nothing. They keep fucking, and he starts hanging out with them more, and... it's nice.
I'm not sure how it would all come out---if Tim or Kon would figure out their own feelings and ask him to stay, or if Jason would eventually get tired of pining and pull away, or if it would come out through magical/chemical means, or maybe during a drop...?
REGARDLESS. I like my happy endings, so after all the pining it ends with them being a very happy throuple <3
(Established couple could also be switched: JayKon who bring in Tim when Kon feels subby; JayTim, Kon joining sometimes when he needs a scene, either way, or just when they all decide they want to...)
[ send me a fic title & i'll tell you what kind of fic i'd write for it ]

Ko-fi thank-you sentences for @chaosandcats; JayKon soulmates, TimKon datemates, and the wrong Superboy.
“I’m on the clock here, you realize,” Jason says, and fake Superboy laughs again and then pulls a mock-pout.
“C’mon, Hood, I’m bored,” he says, somehow actually managing to find the space to step in closer without quite touching him. His grin is a sharp, glittering thing. “Play hooky with me.”
This panic button cannot possibly work fast enough, Jason thinks.
“Fuck it, whatever,” he says, because fake Superboy is clearly not taking no for an answer here and he just needs to buy a little time for someone to get here. Hell, even if fake Superboy were taking no for an answer, he’d probably still want to keep the asshole around as opposed to letting him slip off and put on who knows who else’s face. Better to get him while they’ve got him clocked, one way or the other. “It’s been dead all night anyway. What do you want?”
Fake Superboy’s grin widens. If he was the real one, Jason would want to bite him over that expression. Unfortunately, he’s not the real one. Again: fuck his fucking life.
“For starters, bet I could liven things up for you,” fake Superboy purrs, and then he props Jason’s helmet on his cocked hip and braces his free hand on the bricks behind him, leaning in close with an absolutely smug “coy” expression. Jason considers biting him in the not fun way.
Eh, no, he’d probably just break his fucking teeth.
It’s a fucking temptation, though.
“Yeah?” Jason drawls dubiously. “Big talk for a Super.”
Fake Superboy snickers.
“Yeah, they tell me I’ve got a big mouth,” he says with an obvious leer. “Wanna see?”
“Do you ever shut the fuck up?” Jason asks, curling his lip in irritation, and fake Superboy laughs.
And then actually kisses him, the little fucking shit.
Jason barely manages not to punch him for it. Again, he’d just break his knuckles.
The fake Superboy sticks his tongue in Jason's mouth and Jason gets absolutely no sense of a soulmate bond, so whatever's going on, Superboy is definitely not in the driver's seat right now, or just not home at all or what the fuck ever. So yeah, that's a no on mind control and probably also possession, and definitely not the effects of red or black K. Not that the total lack of empathy bond response all this time hadn't already proven that pretty damn thoroughly, considering.
Also, the real Superboy's always had a rep as a flirt and if nothing else definitely spends way too much time in Tim's back pocket to not be a better kisser than this by now. Seriously, Jason refuses to believe that he is not, if only for Tim's sake. This prick kisses like he barely understands the concept.
Fucking figures, Jason thinks, and crushes their mouths together.

So a timkon fake dating au they both already like each other but are too stupid to tell each other. so maybe theirs a gala or something, the batfam knows about the fake dating, Tim and Kon are just being themselves before the gala starts. Their like dancing around or talking in a corner. someone says "they know they don't have to act like a couple rn right?" And someone who deals with them every day responds with "no this is just how they act.". Later an older lady comes up to Tim and Kon and says something like "You remind me of my Margret and I as a young ladies, you must really love each other." And they remember their supposed to be acting like a couple.

Number 3 for the devotion prompt ask game with timkon maybe? <3
3. “I would follow you to the ends of the earth. I would follow you off of them.”
"Oh, bite me," Tim mutters, hands stilling on his keyboard.
"Is that a request?" Kon teases, rolling over and floating Tim’s laptop away so he can lay his head on his lap. "What's wrong?"
Tim gives him a half-hearted glare, then sighs. "Kon," he says. "Do you think I'm evil?"
Kon stills. Frowns. "Not particularly?"
"Are you sure?" Tim presses. "Jason said-"
"Of course it's Jason," Kon cuts him off, rolling his eyes. "It's always Jason. Jason has not successfully done anything noteworthy with his life. Stop taking his input on yours."
Tim snorts. "I keep forgetting your beef with Jason." His hands cup Kon's face. "Alright then. Someone who thinks he has the right to an opinion on my life said that I wasn't. Good. Amongst other things."
"That person's an idiot," Kon says curtly. Tim lets out a surprised snort-laugh. "I'm being serious! Tim. Rob. Look at me."
Kon grabs Tim's face. Tim looks down at him, tiredly amused and curious. Kon schools his own face into one of solemnity. "I would follow you to the ends of the earth. I would follow you off of them. I would know if you weren't good. Do you believe that?"
"You are the most good person I know," Tim muses, fond. He caresses Kon's face lightly.
"That goes to Bart," Kon says, breaking his solemn expression to grin. "You're just flattering me."
"Then you're the prettiest person I know," Tim amends, intent on giving a compliment. "The prettiest boy I know. It's both flattering and the truth."
Kon blushes, then, and Tim, the asshole he is, has the gall to look satisfied. "You blush so pretty too," he continues, lowly, appraisingly. "Have I ever told you that?"
Kon lets Tim tilt his head. "No," he says, feeling impossibly bashful all of a sudden. "I could stand to be told more often."
"I will," Tim promises. His fingers ghost along Kon's jaw, and he presses a careful, gentle kiss to Kon's lips, then moves away and smiles.
"That wasn't the only thing, though," Kon says after a pause, after he's remembered how to breathe and can trust himself to speak.
Tim sighs, but he's not really annoyed, just a bit tired, and frowns. Kon drags him down to kiss the frown off his face.
Tim laughs into the kiss, hands finding their way on their side of Kon's head, and Kon smiles, satisfied. "You're an idiot," Tim says against Kon's lips.
"I thought I was pretty," Kon says, pulling away reluctantly.
"You're both," Tim says, still hovering over Kon. "My pretty idiot."
Kon tangles his hands in Tim's soft, long hair, and pulls him in for another kiss. "You love me," he says, when Tim leaves his lips. Tim stays close, they're still sharing air. He giggles breathlessly, "you so love me. You're like, in love with me."
"Yeah," Tim admits, also breathless, smiling small and stupid. "I'm in love with you." He hits their heads together. "Pretty boy."
"In love enough to tell me what's wrong?" Kon asks.
Tim pecks him on the lips. "Doesn't matter anymore." Then, when Kon frowns, "seriously. It was just something not going the way I wanted it to."
Kon cocks an eyebrow, tugging lightly on Tim’s hair. "This makes up for it?"
"You make up for it," Tim says, then leans down to kiss him again.
