kerfuffle (pt. 1)

summary: barry is late for work, again. he accidently bumps into you on the way and asks you out for coffee as an apology, could this lead to something more? (fluff) (385 wrds) (m.list here !!)

notes: kinda wrote this in one sitting, so my bad for any grammar mistakes 😭 reader's pronouns aren't mentioned, tried to make this as inclusive as possible <3

barry like the dumbo he is slept through his alarm yet again! for someone who can run around the world in like 30 seconds, he’s still surprised that he’s late for work all the time! with only 20 minutes to spare he washes up quickly, gets dressed and heads out the door in a kerfuffle. getting off the train and exiting the station onto the street, he starts ruffling through his bag making sure he didn’t forget anything while rushing to make it out the door on time. while he’s looking for his phone charger, BAM, he bumps into someone. embarrassed and concerned he starts apologizing immediately.

“I am so, so sorry, i wasn’t looking where i was going and-” 

looking up from his bag to see who he actually bumped into, barry’s mouth goes dry immediately. the person standing in front of him was everything he could want, standing in front of him in the flesh. from your eye colour to your height, EVERYTHING was his ideal, something that would only show up in his dreams (talk about luck am i right 😏). 

“oh no it’s alright, don’t worry about it!”

not only were you a walking supermodel, but your voice and light laughter was delightful, a sound that made barry’s heart sing with longing and warmth, a feeling that made his hands clammy and voice get stuck in his throat. was he always this awkward when he met someone?? no that can’t be true, this is different.

“yeah i am so sorry, do you think you would uh, like to grab a coffee with me as an apology? my treat for bumping into you!”

“oh no you don’t have to, you really don’t!”

“no please, i insist!”

“alright…” you say with humor in your voice, “i’ll meet you around…?”

“does 3pm tomorrow work for you?”

“oh yeah for sure!” 

feeling a wave of relief wash over him, barry quickly asks you for your name, feeling dumb for not asking you sooner.

“it’s y/n, and yours is-”

“-barry. barry allen.”

both of you stand in silence for a few beats, taking in each other and thinking about the next day. with soft blushes and trembling fingers the both of you exchange contact info and head your separate ways, excited for what’s to come.

Bruce Wayne being the crush of nearly all the Justice League members...

Clark is regularly seen more happy than usual in Batman's presence, offering the stoic man an absurd amount of help for no reason, even if he is pushed away by the Bat. He's always keeping tabs on the man's heartbeat to make sure he's safe and healthy because he can't bear to even think that his best friend could be sick or dying somewhere.

Hal is snarky and throws more comments around, yet everyone can see the way his gaze appreciates Batman's wide chest. He'll blame it on thinking his logo changed if anyone asks. And, sure, he'll throw little flirty jabs at Batman, but everyone else does, too, so it's okay, right? ...right...?

Diana is... normal. Nobody really notices the way her gaze lingers on Bruce's body for a moment more than everyone else's after a long mission, checking to see if anybody is severely injured. Maybe it's just because he's human, so she wants to make sure her teammate is safe.

Barry grows increasingly red (nearly the same shade as his suit) whenever Bruce is near him. He doesn't understand why—he has a wife, after all—but maybe it's just the tall, dark, and handsome cliché getting to him. Maybe the Bat is just an awakening of a part of him he didn't know he had.

Oliver torments Bruce as a civilian and in uniform. He's one of the few who can interact with the Bat in any situation, and he uses it to his advantage. He openly flirts at galas (Bruce is forced to return the sentiment to keep up his Brucie persona) and during missions, and nobody outside of the JL can put together the dots that these two particular men are weirdly romantic with one another.

Then, there's poor, poor J'onn who has to listen to all their ridiculous thoughts like he's being strapped to a chair and forced to watch the most dramatic soap opera that has ever been created. (He does not miss Bruce's little proud comments to himself after each weird interaction.)

How fucking funny would it be if the Justice League all dressed up as each other for Halloween, but then, inevitably, some crisis happens while they’re taking their sidekicks Trick or Treating, so now they have to fight the Big Bad. Except. Except they’re in the wrong costumes.

And no one can know their in the wrong costumes, so you have Barry Allen trying to be sneaky like Batman (which he is inherently terrible at) and Hal Jordan trying to look speedy like the Flash, expect he’s actually a slow fucking runner. (“I jog, guys, okay! I jog!”)

But the funniest part is that Bruce, posing as Green Arrow, is actually pretty decent at archery, and Dick makes a pretty good Speedy. However, this is off put by Clark, who has to spend the whole night awkwardly answering kids questions about his Wonder Woman costume.

hal is a closet gay, barry is gay who haven't figured out yet

Barry is the only one who takes Hal's ring off since his ring recognized barry as a safe host, and maybe would protect him if Hal's not available

they are amazing with kids, and they are amazing mentors/father figures to the young superheroes

Hal's favorite color is red while Barry's favorite color is green :)) Hal's also likes blue since it reminded him of the sky but his main fav color is red

yes! in no particular order:

- deeply mentally ill but good at hiding it

- has rage problems and a violent streak but good at hiding it

- is actually so hateful of herself that she could never take care of bart like a proper mom

- had owen with boomerang during one of her manic periods, which is why boomerang left with owen

- would kill thad on sight for what he’s done to bart

- would have killed max a long time ago for his treatment of her son if bart didn’t love him so much

- took care of carol with all her heart bc bart loved her so much, and whatever bart loves, meloni will learn to love

- is incredibly lonely and cannot form lasting romantic relationships with anyone due to don allen’s demise, hence why she and boomerang didn’t work out

- is not at all a “i love all my children equally” kind of woman. loves only bart, even tho she had owen later

- actually did love don allen deeply. goes back and forth in her head abt assuming a relationship with him bc without him, no bart and no short-lived happiness. with him, it’s tragedy after tragedy, even tho there is love

- her hatred for her father is eobard-to-barry level unhinged

Somebody said this, and I can't stop thinking about it... (From this post: The Crush of The Justice League)

Cw: Everybody gets a lil silly with their thoughts, nothing is really descriptive

Btw, in this, only Oliver knows that Bruce is Batman! (And Clark and Barry are unmarried, Lois is just FWB.)

Omega!Bruce thinking his team just looks up to him for the normal reasons: as a mentor, the voice of reason, and the one who seemingly knows everything about everything.

What he didn't expect was for all the attention one meeting to be caused by the entire League placing bets on his secondary gender.

Clark and J'onn are aliens, so their secondary genders don't fit into human standards. If anything, J'onn's switched at will and Clark was whatever the hell the highest tier was, because there was no way in hell that the man who could knock down entire buildings with his bare hands was anywhere NEAR being an omega.

Alpha!Barry and Alpha!Hal has bets on him being a regular old alpha, especially because of how broody and authoritative all the time.

Beta!Diana and Beta!Dinah are torn between Bruce being beta or omega. Sure, he's all big and strong, but they once had a night out with Lois where she said that Clark, of all people, enjoyed the other end of things every now and then.

The only omega on the team, Oliver, is the only one who knows the truth. He's been in that man's bed one too many times to keep up Bruce's playboy persona. This was before he mated Dinah, of course. He'd never betray his beloved wife like that.

It's when Bruce hears the chatter get a little too loud does he realize what they're talking about, and his stoic face dips into a disapproving frown. "We have an interstellar threat, yet you are all placing bets on what I am?"

He raises a brow under the cowl, and while no one can see it, they all know they're in deep shit if they continue to talk.

The Justice League decide then and there that if Batman can get Superman to back down, he must be whatever an Alpha God is.

They just don't see the way he comes home to dote on his pups, grabbing Damian and Duke and dragging them away to the Manor Nest so he can scent them. He would like his others, but they have their own lives to live, so he won't bring them back home just because his instincts urge him to.

When identity reveals come along, everyone is dumbfounded. There's no way that Bruce Wayne, billionaire omega playboy, is the Dark Knight.

An image hits Clark in the head, the memory of him and Bruce in a back room together after an interview surfacing yet again. He'd only dared to remember that on lonely nights where patrol had been too much and he had adrenaline to blow off.

Diana, Dinah, Flash, and Hal are all collectively blinking slowly, staring at the uncowled man.

Bruce is now considered a free-for-all. Every unmated member of the League is actively trying to mate the Bat, offering stupid little trinkets and complimenting his work. The alphas get a little carried away, often peeling off scent blockers in the Watchtower to try and get a rouse out of Bruce.

Clark and Diana will randomly pick him up, as if to show off their strength, Hal will construct whatever Bruce needs at the moment, and Barry has become his personal errand boy.

While Bruce would say this is a little over-the-top, he's never seen his team so cooperative before.

Sure, though, now he can't pick a mate from the League (they'd probably kill one another in jealousy), but he can at least reap the benefits.

Awe I love this! And then when Dick gets older he starts close with all of them, which is part of why Jason calls him Goldie

Diana translating things for him is so adorably cute

Dick Grayson, except that when he was Robin, he 100% took advantage of all the powered JL members.

Needed help getting the peanut butter off the top shelf? Instead of doing the weird jump-and-grab thing that all mortals must resign themselves to doing, Dick asked for Clark. Like, asks for him. Loudly. And Clark was always so startled that he’d drop whatever he was doing and speed over to the Manor, only to be greeted by a pouty, hangry Robin who wanted a pbj.

His tree house fell down during a storm? He made a call to John Stewart, architect-turned-Lantern. That poor man fucking rocketed across Sector 2814 to help Robin, who was completely inconsolable, rebuild that damn treehouse because Batman was out of town and couldn’t do it himself. (Dick also occasionally called up Hal, Guy, and Jessica when he was bored and wanted to babble about his life in 3rd grade while playing Hotwheels—they showed up every single time he asked.)

History or English homework got to hard? Diana always came in clutch. She would patiently explain Shakespeare to him (sometimes would even translate it into Dick’s mother tongue so he could understand a little better), or help him write his essays, etc. And on one memorable occasion, she recreated the Battle of Actium in the Manor’s indoor pool.

He also got piggyback rides from Hawkgirl, was fed a pretty much endless supply of gummy bears by the Flash, was entertained with close-up magic by Zatara, got Aquaman to introduce him to a Kraken, and even once played dress-up with J’onn.

And the Justice League? They would bend over backwards for that kid. Partially because Dick had only-baby-in-the-friend-group privilege, partially because Dick also happened to be stinking adorable—but mainly because no one was going to fuck around with the Batman’s kid. Robin wants it, Robin gets it, or you’re going to be assigned to tech desk and pulling horrible Moniter shifts for months because you got on Batman’s bad side by making his baby cry.
