eddie: he's in love with nancy. he has been, and always will be. if i tell him, steve will just see me as an obstacle towards winning back nancy.

robin: well, your speech about how he should win her back didn't help either of us.

eddie: i was putting things into perspective. he loves her. i just needed a reminder that i had no chance and that i needed to stop trying.

robin: he won't love her forever. they aren't good for each other. and i think he knows that.

eddie: but, what if he does love her forever?

robin: then you give up. you find someone else. and that may seem impossible, but there are billions of people on this planet. im sure one of them need an eddie in their life.

Malleus Draconia versus Ortho Shroud

It seems some people are surprised at Malleus’ actions? That he destroyed the robot dogs and almost destroyed Ortho.

But I would like to point out that Malleus has always been like this; very protective of his loved ones.

For example: In Lilia’s PE vignette, he nearly took Rook’s head off because he thought Rook was trying to hurt Lilia.

Then we come to book 7, chapter 7 update.

Yes, he destroyed the dogs and almost Ortho but remember Malleus is protective of his loved ones.

Malleus OBed because he wants his loved ones happy and Ortho is a threat to that, so of course he’s going to destroy any threats to them and Ortho basically labeled himself as such.

Now I want to bring up a point that I don’t see many talk about?

Malleus understood Ortho’s explanation about how Ortho woke up and how he was able to penetrate the barrier.

Ortho described himself as immortal basically because he can transfer his data to any body, which Malleus understood as transferring vessels.

This is when Malleus finally took the steps to destroy Ortho. Not because he wanted to kill him, but because he knew that Ortho would still live and transfer himself to another body.

Did Ortho feel fear? Yes because Orth doesn’t like lightning and that’s one of Malleus’ powers but think about it.

Feeling fear is an emotion no one wants to repeat. Malleus acknowledged that Ortho might be feeling fear

With Malleus knowing that Ortho can feel such things, Malleus told Ortho he would end him swiftly because in a way that is an act of kindess isn’t it? To end it quickly rather than prolonging the fear.

But at the same time he knows that Ortho will live and remember this emotion, and that’s what Malleus wants, so Ortho would be too scared to try again.

Malleus is protective of his loved ones and he always has been.

While his actions might seem as if he’s out of control, he isn’t. He understood in his own way what Ortho explained to him before making his move.

He didn’t attack because he’s raging but made a more calculative move on his end to stop Ortho, one that he would make repeatedly if need be, since he knows that Ortho can transfer bodies.

My disappearance from this platform to then pop up sporadically and share a New Thought about rjk is unparalleled, but at this point I'm not gonna question it...

Anyway

Love the idea of ot3 newly dating and since Roy is kind of used to "hating" Jamie, and cuz he's kind of just bad at emotions in general, sometimes when Jamie does something cute or soft or sweet that pulls at Roy's heartstrings, he doesn't know what to do, so he just turns to Keeley with a confusingly pained expression like "help."

She finds it very amusing.

For instance:

Roy going downstairs in the morning to find a very sleepy Jamie Tartt at the breakfast nook. He makes a remark like "you'd think you'd be used to waking up early after all of our training sessions."

And Jamie, messy hair in his face, cheeks swollen with sleep, eyes barely able to stay open, just mumbles "I was always tired those mornings, I just wanted to be good."

It's like a punch in the gut for Roy. The sweet sentiment of Jamie just wanting Roy to be proud of him combined with his soft sleepy features is too much. He's speechless, frozen. How the hell is he supposed to respond to that?

He turns to Keeley, who's also in the kitchen, watching the scene unfold. Makes eye contact, expression desperate. Help.

She chuckles at him, subtle enough that the still-very-out-of-it Jamie doesn't notice, and she shakes her head as she saves Roy's ass, speaking on his behalf, "That's very sweet of you, baby."

Jamie's sleepy enough he doesn't question where the praise is coming from, he's just happy to receive it. Gives a soft hum of acknowledgement and takes a sip of his tea, none the wiser to the torment he's put his boyfriend through.

hello hello :) I suddenly became curious about the durability of Tanguish’s spike thingies on his back (definitely spurred on by how lizard coded he is). The way you draw them seems to resemble sculk shriekers which is pretty neat if that’s the case :3 Do you imagine them about as strong as keratin or softer? Do they shed? Anyways, this is such a small and probably insignificant detail but I’m curious about your thoughts 🎤

See his little back spikes are actually in a really funny place for me, because in the context of art, they're there. But in my mind when I'm writing him, they're not there. Schrodinger's back spikes. They're gone until you can see them--

That being said! I always imagine them a lot like Godzilla's crest funnily enough. They're somewhat hollow on the inside, with a lot of veins, which I think would follow then that they could be flushed with color? Like how they used to [and still might I'm not into the paleobiology scene] think Stegosaurus spikes could flush with blood and get more colorful. The idea that The Little Guy could suddenly blush and all the spikes on his back would turn red [or maybe light up and glow like the spots on sculk] is very amusing to me. Mood ring lizard spikes.

As hollow keratin bits, they probably bleed a decent amount of they're broken off, ouchie, but he probably does shed them naturally every once in awhile? Imagine him getting really itchy one day and the spikes fall off, and Helsknight is left going, "What the heck. Are you okay. You are falling to pieces. Help. What is happening. Oh my god."
