All the crimes the 2013 movie committed, etc etc, but the sad thing is, you COULD bring magic into that world, if you really wanted. Just. Not Like That.

What I would do, is make Tonto magic. So, I fully stand with what I said - at some point in 2020, maybe? - about Tonto being a Science Superhero. He really is. In a way that is just so 1950's, the supernatural doesn't really have any place in the Lone Ranger mythos. But if it did? It would show itself in all the small ways that the story itself bends reality, to make it something softer, something more child-friendly.

Like, you have a Realistic Situation, and then these two figures show up with their horses, and suddenly Reality doesn't quite work that way, and you can outwit the bad guys and silver bullets are actually a good weapon (they are not. Silver is not a good material to make bullets from. There is a reason why we don't do that). And then they leave, and normality resumes, and you will never understand what happened there.

So it is the heroes themselves who have reality bending powers, and, well, Tonto is the one who has been doing it longer. It could explain why he is always where needed, why everyone seems to be his friend, how he always has the right medicine, why he doesn't need a tent, how he can spend weeks riding through the desert and come out looking perfectly clean and well-groomed, how the fuck he hasn't died of a concussion yet....

And John, John would kind of drop out of the Real World, and be bewildered about these things first, but the longer he spends living with Tonto, the more he himself would start to bend reality. Bullets always miss him. His horse never grows tired. One day, they arrive at a town, and he catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror, perfectly clean and well-groomed, despite having spent weeks in the desert with no water to wash his body, let alone his clothes...

(You would of course have to be very careful doing this to avoid racist stereotypes, but that is the case while writing Tonto no matter what. Also, this started out as a dig to the 2013 movie, and, come on, they had MORE than enough money for sensitivity readers, if only they'd used it)

Help me with my tagging convention?

I’ve got a question for my followers (and anyone else who sees this and cares). What would be a good “catch-all” tag to label all positive posts, and should I have one?

Here’s what I’m thinking and why: though I’m using a ton of descriptive tags, there isn’t one tag that could be used to browse my blog for only things that are fun to look at. Some things are funny, some are cute, some are cool or interesting, some are just pretty, etc etc. I also reblog things that are political or unfortunate, and currently there’s no way to avoid scrolling past those if I want to see/show someone all the categories of fun stuff.

If I were to start using a tag for this purpose, I’d want to do it soon, before I reblog much more and it becomes too overwhelming to retcon the tag into the posts I already have on my blog. The problem is… I can’t think of one I’d like to use >_<

I want something neutral, non obtrusive or potentially offensive, and easy to type. I feel like even the best options I’ve come up with might be awkward situationally. For example, ‘positive’ might be the wrong vibe, ‘pos’ is more neutral but is also an abbreviation for a phrase that is decidedly not, ‘ :) ’ could also be the wrong mood and come across as insensitive or condescending.

I'm probably overthinking this, but what do you all think?

Kinda crazy how after Neil and Andrew kiss for the first time Neil literally thinks to himself that he doesn’t “look at Matt or Nicky differently” which implies that he 1. Thought kissing Andrew once had the potential to immediately turn him gay 2. That how he looked at Kevin wouldn’t be a good marker of this

Like it was literally just one sentence that I honestly don’t think I even caught my first read or two, but makes me pretty sure that Neil had the exact train of thought of “huh I guess I liked kissing Andrew. Does that make me gay? Lemme check” *looks at Nicky* “…hmm no” *looks at Matt* “….still no… ok so I’m definitely not gay for those two…”

Jazz is wandering Gotham with Danny after their parents visited the city for a convention but left them behind in the excitement of one of their ghost traps going off on the other side of the country.

The hotel they were staying at kicked them out not caring if they had a place to stay or not, only caring that the source of money had left.

Jazz couldn't show how scared she actually was, not when Danny was looking at her with complete faith that she could somehow fix this.

How he managed to keep that faith after a day of jumping at shadows like they held enemies and vending machine food for lunch was a mystery.

She's tired, she's stressed, and she needs an adult.

Like an actual adult and not her much loved but very scatterbrained parents, Vlad did not count either.

Kabru is always my favorite tho bc I fucking love characters who are both ruthless and genuinely kind. Who have noble goals and strong ideals and will make compromises in order to reach them, especially when they aren't punished for it by the narrative. Kabru will straight up commit vigilante murder because he's done the math and judged it to be the action with the most harm reduction, and he's good at math.

Kabru is the only person in the series both on-scene and thinking about the larger implications of the actions being taken, and I love him for it.
