10 little subtle ways and things you could be doing that are witchy!
(esp if you're still in the broom closet) ❤️🦊
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. virtual and online altars
pinterest boards dedicated to your gods/goddesses; quotes and aesthetics.
tumblr dedication blogs.
social media page with your witchy alias.
discord server, a private place to organise channels and create categories for what you want, i.e., spellwork, candle magick, crystal associations, etc.
music playlists, for both manifesting and connecting with your deities, they love coming through music.
2. journal/book altars
similar to the idea of a book of shadows, this will be personal writings and thoughts for specific deities.
you can customise it and decorate it much like a physical altar! i.e., stickers, washi tapes, markers, sparkles.
custom spreads for whomever you work with, you can put prayers you've written for them, words you want to convey, and express.
3. the wooden box altar, also known as a travelling altar
a place to put all your trinkets and necessities.
if you're unable to have a physical space, having one that's portable will help you take your altar wherever you go.
you can carve/paint the box to be more personal for you, or to be ultra discreet about it you can just customise the inner part so it doesn't stick out to people you don't want knowing yet.
Tumblr media
4. origami shapes
for manifesting, write out what you would like and fold it into a star to carry out the manifestation.
use the idea of symbolism to embed your intentions, for luck, a four leaf clover. for allowing new opportunities to find you and let go, a butterfly, to succeed in something you could make a bird; "soaring to new heights."
you could also use this time to connect with your deities, just being with them in the moment.
Tumblr media
5. financial abundance
if you can't blow cinnamon on the first day of the new month, put a dash of it in your morning coffee or tea first thing.
use of coins in the soil of your plants welcomes in prosperity.
likewise with coins, frogs are symbolic of wealth.
a bay leaf where you keep your wallet/purse, the exchange of the money you give out you will receive back with a little extra.
Tumblr media
6. kitchen magick/green witchery
add spices/herbs to help achieve something you want i.e.,
pancakes with vanilla and honey to bring in loving and warm energy.
adding pepper/salt/basil/rosemary to encourage protection.
for clarity and insight, chamomile tea.
to have peaceful and calm resolve, lemonade with fresh mint leaves.
Tumblr media
7. clothing and jewellery
wearing items of clothing or jewellery in honour of your deities, i.e.
rings, bracelets, and necklaces that symbolise something of them for you.
shirts with quotes you feel resemble them; colour associations work plenty.
if you crochet or make your own items of clothing, knot magick or sewing in a symbol that means something for you can help you feel confident when wearing it.
Tumblr media
8. self-care can be devotional
doing things that make you happy whilst doing it in honour of your deities allows them to be present in your simple joys.
writing, poetry, reading; feeling called to read something because it holds a message for you.
indulging a show or something you watched in your childhood years, deities take pleasure in watching something that means alot to you and will be grateful to share that moment.
treats and specific cravings, i.e., little upg, but loki loves sweet pastries.
taking a walk about in nature gives your deities more room to show you the beauty of the world. take them to your favourite bench, to your favourite coffee shop.
knot magick, if you crochet, make something in honour of your gods/goddesses. they will ensure it brings you comfort when you hold it.
painting your nails, you can charge your nail polish beneath the moon or mix in a little moon water to be energised and intuitively connected.
Tumblr media
9. cleansing and clearing of old energy
water
will help the bad flow out and let the good flow in.
showers/baths are good for self-cleansing.
holding a glass of water before drinking it and wish your intentions.
crying, allowing yourself to feel what it is you're trying to process in order for it to be released. can't release something you haven't finished going through yet.
moon water, I recommend this during a new moon as that's more symbolic to starting anew, planting seeds and encouragement toward growth.
sun water, can help with energising you and bringing in positive energy, also a confidence boost.
earth
holding onto a crystal for a few moments, just breathing in and out.
crystals can be used for cleansing, smoky quartz, clear quartz. there is a crystal for all your needs.
plants! plants are great for protection and for taking in bad energy. they will listen to what you have to say, and will love you as much as you love them.
food, especially grown from the earth can help you feel refreshed and buzzing with energy.
fire
burning, writing out your hardships, struggles, anger and burning them (safely please).
lighting a candle while you work on something, very therapeutic, and you can visualise the bad energy being burnt out and released.
incense, the smoke is a natural cleanser and will do wonders. you aren't restricted to using sage to cleanse; others you could use are myrrh, sandalwood, lavender, or cedar. it's completely up to what your preferences are.
air
breathing in and out during meditation, as you take in some air and release it, upon release visualise what you're letting go of.
bells, the frequency of dinging bells helps to disperse bad energy.
sound cleansing through soft music, and intentional frequencies. you'll find alot of these up on youtube.
Tumblr media
10. divination methods (aside from tarot/pendulums that i know of)
clouds, observing what you see and the shapes you recognise, what you need to know will be reflected in nature.
ceromancy, candle wax, burning a candle after asking for some clarity or an answer and having the wax form a shape for you to interpret.
numerology, angel numbers, and the significance of the numbers.
automatic writing, done in your personal journal, it's unconscious writing that can help channel messages you may need.
bibliomancy, randomly selecting a passage or words from a book.
capnomancy, the use of smoke from candles or incense, and reading the shapes and forms casted by the smoke
conchomancy, divination through seashells, shapes, and the type of shell.
casting a set of charms on a cloth and divinating the meaning of where they landed.

Prayers•
Historical-
Holy Queen of Sanctity, we hymn you, Hestia, whose abiding realm is Olympus and the middle point of earth and the Delphic laurel tree! You dance around Apollo’s towering temple rejoicing both in the tripod’s mantic voices and when Apollo sounds the seven strings of his golden phorminx and, with you, sings the praises of the feasting gods. We salute you, daughter of Kronos and Rhea, who alone brings firelight to the sacred altars of the gods; Hestia, reward our prayer, grant wealth obtained in honesty; then we shall always, dance around your glistening throne.
For the lost -
Blessed Hestia, the first and the last, and the always flame. May your light burn bright and strong, May your prayers be those of respect and love, May you guide the lost, And give to those who have nothing. I give thanks to you, Hestia, for all that you have done And continue to do.
For people with intrusive thoughts -
I ask Hestia, the kind goddess, to help those who feel down. May they find comfort and peace inside of their homes and inside their own minds. Protect them for their destructive thoughts, and be the safe place they need so much
A prayer for homeles—
In Hestia’s name, may you always have a home and a roof over your head. May you always be comfortable and warm with a full belly. May you always be in good spirits and good company, never knowing the pervading loneliness that envelopes the soul.
Morning
Blessed Hestia, Fill this home with your light and bounty, As the day fills it with golden sunshine.
Evening
Glorious Hestia, Let your hearth fire warm this house, As night draws her shadowed cloak over it now.
Blessings of the kitchen-
Hestia bless my little kitchen, I love it’s every nook And bless me as I do my work, Wash pots and pans and cook. May the meals that I prepare, Be seasoned from above, With thy blessings and thy grace, But most of all thy love

My Wonder (Spencer Reid x Reader) - The End
Tumblr media
My Wonder (Spencer Reid x Reader) - The End Word Count: 1702 Reader insert: she/her pronouns. She is not American unless you are, just has a previous history in American law enforcement. Warnings: mentions of amnesia, death, tears will be shed, and soft fluff Spoilers: none
All his life, Dr. Spencer Reid has been told he is a genius - gifted, different. When you, a new member of the BAU, arrive, he expects the same weirded-out reaction from you as everyone does. But when you don't, and you instead find him interesting, Spencer finds himself forming an attachment to you. And as the years go on, is it really any wonder that he falls for you?
This is one of six times you secretly say I love you to Spencer, and one time he says it back in the same fashion: at the end of it all.
Full story | Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6
The last time he heard you say those special words was the day you said goodbye.
It wasn't until you fell pregnant with your first child that you found a proper house to live in. You'd been content with the studio apartment you'd found and moved into one year into your relationship, but when you fell pregnant, Spencer knew you would need a bigger space. One that you could call your own and make a home out of.
Your forever home.
Surprisingly, it hadn't taken long to find something: a nice rustic, two-storey house on the outskirts of DC. It was in a nice neighbourhood , far enough out of the city to be quiet, but close enough you could both get to work quick enough in case of an emergency. The moment you'd laid eyes on it, you fell in love with it, and Spencer knew without question this would be where you brought your family up.
He traipsed through the house with two cups of tea. Coffee had started to disagree with him after he quit the BAU, as if that were the only place he needed it. Teaching and guest lecturing at all the local universities was nowhere near the stress level of the BAU, and so he'd switched to tea. Somehow, in his (as he called it) pre-retirement, it tasted sweeter.
You had stepped down from being a profiler at the BAU after your third child was born, realising that with a four and two year old waiting outside the birth suite to meet their baby brother, you couldn't risk leaving your three babies without a mother. And while leaving the BAU, your home of close to twenty years, wrought a grief out of you that was close to unbearable, you knew it was the right decision and right time.
And you soon found a love for writing - fiction, non-fiction, poetry, it didn't matter. What you'd experienced in your career as a profiler had changed you, and sometimes writing it out made it less haunting, it gave you closure. You went on book tours, consulted on scholarly and literary journals, you even were brought into Spencer's classrooms to guest lecture from time to time.
All the while building and loving the family both of you had always dreamed of.
Spencer smiled at the dusty pictures that lined the walls, of the faces of his children and grandchildren smiling back him. Of the faces of friends old and new, of ghosts he used to know from a time long gone. Sometimes he hardly recognised himself in those pictures. He wasn't the vain type, but when he looked at himself in his 20's and 30's, he couldn't help the yearning that pulled at his heart when he did.
He compared those youthful pictures against his present day, laughing at the barely existent grey stubble he now sported, of the white hair that curled and stood up in any and all directions, of the glasses he now permanently had to wear. You always said he looked sexier with glasses, anyways, so he didn't mind.
Those pictures were his memory, his legacy, his life. When he felt his brain burning, when his memory became a bit too fuzzy, he could always look at the pictures and find solace in how those moments would live on in the people he loved.
'Spence?'
Your voice prompted him to keep moving, to let go of the past and remain in the present. He wandered through the rest of the house to the backyard, where two garden chairs sat either side of a coffee table, looking over the yard. The gardens were filled with flowers of all shapes and colours. He wasn't a nature guy by any means, but Spencer wanted you to have something to look after other than him or the children, something you could be proud of when you were much older. So he'd planted it himself (okay, he needed help from Derek), filling it with flowers that expressed all the wonderful qualities he loved about you.
There was a small gardening shed in the back, a quaint barbecue/entertainment area to one side, and a build-your-own playground just sitting on the lawn. He found you sitting comfortably in one of the chairs, staring out at the yard contently. He placed both cups of tea on the table before taking his own seat in the other chair.
'Do you remember how Jason used to carry Diana on his back up the slide?' you asked gently, a fond smile cracking your dry lips at the memory of your children playing on the very same playground their children now played on when they visited. 'You always got so scared they would fall and hurt themselves.'
'Isn't that our job?' he asked, taking a sip of his tea. 'To worry for our children?'
'You didn't have to be a helicopter parent, though,' you jibed playfully. 'You got better when Aaron was old enough to climb himself, so I can't berate you for that.'
'Speaking of which, Aaron just called, said him, Rachel and the kids want to invites us to dinner on Friday.'
You turned and smiled at him, but he saw how tired you were. It was in the slight droop in your lips when you smiled, it was in the slouch of your shoulders, it was the way you held out your hand for him to grasp and you could barely squeeze him back. You'd been like this for days, and it broke Spencer's heart to see the love of his life slowly fade away right beside him. He knew it was a natural way of life - considering their previous occupations, he was grateful to be even given the chance to grow old with you.
But despite natural law and despite his many blessings, it didn't dull the ache that grew more painful everyday.
'You don't have to be here, Spence,' you said, voice barely above a whisper, like it was just a secret only you two shared. 'You've seen enough death already.'
Spencer placed his cup on the table before getting out of his chair (a feat he struggled withe everyday now, his BAU days finally catching up to him) and walking around to your side, bringing both his hands to clasp yours as he knelt beside you.
'I'm not going anywhere,' he said, willing every ounce of sincerity and love into his words, into his hands as he held your frail ones. 'Forever and always, remember?'
Spencer almost broke down when your eyes locked with his, those shining (e/c) orbs sparkling with life and mischief and wonder. Despite what time had done to you, you were still his (Y/n), his best friend, his partner, his lover and saviour.
You nodded as if to say yes, I do remember. I always will. You pull one hand free of his grip, and use it to cradle his wrinkled cheeks. 'We've lived a good life, haven't we, Spence?'
He pulled one hand away to caress your hand on his cheek, holding it there for as long as he could. 'Yes. Yes we have.'
Your eyes scanned over him, suddenly seeing your life in rewind.
You saw him as he was now, white, Einstein hair, wrinkled skin and glasses. Then with only little streaks of white in his hair, more sleek. That's how he was with the kids. You kept going back, to your wedding, to your engagement, to the first time you kissed. Every movie night, every case, every late night in the office. Until you were seeing him as if for the first time. Kind of dorky, kind of sweet, wide-eyed and bushy-tailed to explain to you how his "physics magic" worked that very first day in the office.
It was like he was seeing you for the first time as well, as you smiled your bright smile like you did on that first day. The smile you had smiled for him every day since. The smile he saw in your children, and then your grandchildren.
'You are a true wonder, Spence,' you whispered softly, using what little strength you had left to squeeze the hand that still clasped yours as if to say thank you. 'My wonder.'
He waited for the lump in his throat to form, for the words to get stuck in his throat like they always did before. But the lump never formed, and so the words flowed like water out of him, finally feeling right.
'And you are mine,' he whispered back, smiling as bright as he could for you as he held you. 'You always have been my wonder.'
You bring his lips to yours one last time before dropping your hand from his face and sitting back in your seat, looking more tired than you'd ever been. But your other hand still held his, and he certainly wasn't going to let you go. Not yet.
'Spence,' you wheezed, eyes struggling to stay open on him.
Spencer pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, using his now free hand to stroke your grey hair in soothing motions. 'It's okay. You can rest now. I'll join you soon enough.'
The slight dip of your chin let him know you understood, and soon after you closed your eyes, your hand grew slack in his hold and your chest ceased rising.
You were gone.
And he was still here.
It was only then did Spencer allow the tears to fall, to acknowledge that despite both of your acceptances, he was sad. You'd lived good, long lives, and even then Spencer believed it was not enough time to love all of you. He knew it was selfish, but he figured after all he'd been through he would be allowed this one wish.
He held you for another hour before he called your children to notify them of your passing.
He held on for another year before he joined you. Cause of death: a broken heart.
He was buried beside you in the family lot, and on your joint headstone, it wrote:
Here lies Dr. Spencer Reid and Mrs. (Y/n) Reid. Loving Husband and Wife and Parents. "You truly are a wonder."

I want in on this ship game! haha.
So I’m in my late 20s, working in the mental health field (always been fascinated by the way the mind works and how that correlates to society), but my passion is music. I’ve made music since I was in middle school, been writing lyrics and poetry since I was 6/7, and I’ve been singing since I was 4 (began training at 6). Adulting has made me put music on the back-burner as of late, but it will always be my first true love.
Appearance wise Im a biracial tan skinned girl, 5’5”, black hair, super dark eyes, always dying my hair every color of the rainbow and I have 20+ tattoos. I’m a huge art lover and I adore being able to carry art with me all over my body. That being said, i also love museums (from the prestigious to sketchy back alley buildings lol), conservatories, cool bars (I love drinking with friends), cafes (coffee/ tea addict), aquariums, and book stores (huge book nerd). I also have been to probably close to if not 100+ concerts in the last 15 years, they are my happy place, music soothes my soul ❤️
My style has evolved a lot over the years, but my comfort always goes back to grunge I guess?? I love leather jackets, fishnets, platform stompers, tons of jewelry, etc. And if I could have piercings I’d have a ton, but my skin is too sensitive. But when I’m not wearing all black, I also love wearing earth tones as it compliments my tan skin, and I wear lots of skirts and dresses year round. I also cannot see for shit, blind as a bat, I typically always wear my thick ass glasses unless I’m swimming or I do my makeup, then I wear contacts.
I do think I’m considered conventionally attractive in the face, I’ve been told so by others, I’m very endowed too in the chest and booty areas lol. I am on the chunkier side too, but I’ve always heard the classic “you wear it well” or “it’s in all the right places” 😑 whatever, I used to have a lot of self esteem issues and been through several depressive episodes from a young age, but I’ve worked through it and now I’m okay with the skin I’m in. Still working on it, though. I do still struggle a lot with social anxiety and anxiety in general. I want to see a therapist but that’s just sooo expensive. But thats why I turned to music, writing, and singing in the first place. That’s how I express myself and cope 😌
Personality wise I am a Virgo, very introverted, and I absolutely hate socializing unless my closest friends are there (this is where the social anxiety comes in too) lol. But working in the mental health field, I’ve had to network a lot the last few years so I’m way better at putting on an extroverted mask, but at the end of the day I am absolutely drained from it all 🥱 I’m the person at the party chillin with the pets because that’s where I’m more comfortable, if I’m still sober. But drunk/ high me?? Different story 🤣🤣🤣 I’ll talk anyone’s ear off at that point lol. But at the end of the day, I just adore my close friends and family so damn much and I’m at my happiest just kicking it at home with them, drinking, laughing, playing cards, and reminiscing ❤️❤️
I would ship you with Namjoon, Yoongi, and Taehyung!
You share a lot similarities with each of them, they all have a deep love for the arts, Tae and Joon especially love going to museums and galleries, and it’s no secret that Yoongi and Joon practically breathe music, so I think you’d get along with any of them on that front. Plus, they’re all well matched with you astrologically speaking(especially Joon and Yoongi)!
Joon and Yoongi, I think, would both especially appreciate a partner with an introspective mind, and they’ve all had their share of experiences with anxiety, so I think they’d respect and understand your needs/struggles with that. Plus, I think Tae and Yoongi would really like your style!
Hope that was okay💜

Tea and Books Asks
Thank you Dreamling Nation server for being so unhinged as to make this an actual tag game!
So @quillingwords @mathomhouse-e @firemandeanbuck tagged me and at this point I think I’m the last one to make this so if anyone’s missing feel free to do it!
1. What period of history do you enjoy learning about?
Honestly I think I enjoy it all! I love history 🖤
2. Who is your favourite fictional character and why?
I have too many! as of right now I can honestly say that spots goes to Dream of the Endless—he is a complex character full of tragedy and contradictions and I love him for it.
3. What do you order at a café?
Usually I drink black coffee but if I go out to buy myself coffee I guess I’ll go for an extra strong coffee with a dash of milk.
Sometimes I get a caramel macchiato but that’s when I feel like I want a special treat not an everyday sort of coffee.
4. Libraries, botanical gardens, or art galleries?
In theory I love libraries and gardens are lovely as well but my heart will forever will be with museums and art galleries.
5. Do you have a favourite film soundtrack? I’ll do you one better and name a few: Labyrinth, Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, Coraline, Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit.
I love OST music 🖤
6. What does your dream home look like?
It would have to be a cozy little house tucked away somewhere quiet —perhaps in the middle of a forest? I would love to be able to relax, enjoy the nature and do all the things that I love like reading and drawing and painting ✨
7. What makes you feel better on gloomy days? Warm soft things like a thick blanket and a nice cup of tea—perhaps eating something sweet and listening to my favorite music or watching a comfort movie/series.
8. What are your top three films? Books? My mind is *blank* so I’ll name just one of each because *awkward hand gesture* Movie Perfect Blue, Satoshi Kon Book Almond, Sohn Won-pyung.
9. Are you an organized person, generally? I am perhaps a little *too* organized! I’ve been working on trying to be more relaxed about it. And I think I’m making a good job at it!
10. Do you have a favourite classic novel? Several—I’ll chose The Bell Jar , Sylvia Plath because it’s been sometime since I read and I miss it.
11. What character archetype or trope is your favourite? I have a soft sport for creatives, rebels and truth seekers probably because I see myself in those.
12. Do you prefer baking or cooking? I don’t think I prefer one over the other but I do find baking more relaxing and rewarding.
13. Which season do you feel at home in? Autumn! Or more specifically that little place between changing seasons always feels wonderful.
14. What is your opinion on poetry? Love it!
15. Do you speak formally when texting and emailing? Since I only text family and close friends then no but emails probably yes since most ( if not all) of them are work related.
16. How do you organize your music playlists? I’m basic so I usually organize them by language ( I have list in English, Spanish, Japanese and Korean for example) Genre and *sometimes* mood.
17. Who is your favourite author? I collect those like Pokémon so I’ll pick one at random and say my beloved Banana Yoshimoto.
18. Chai or hot chocolate? Both! Though I usually drink hot chocolate only during the winter.
19. Do you prefer forests, sea shores, or meadows? Forest for sure!
20. If you were to cultivate a fruit orchard, what would you grow? Probably something basic like apples or cherries mostly because I grew up climbing those and I have lots of fond memories of sitting and eating on those trees while swinging my legs back and ford and feeling like I was on top of the world.

COMMENTS/random headcanons:
Ed loves star gazing. He knows everything there is to know about stars, so if you go star gazing with him, prepare to be educated.
He hates both running and hiking...and any physical activity really. But he tries working out, just to stay in shape and healthy
early bird or night owl: when Ed is mentally stable or isn’t working on a project, he keeps a steady sleeping schedule. He sleeps from 11:00 to 6:45am. But if he is working on something he loves, he might skip/change his bedtime.
foxes or wolves: he is biased, hehe
hugs or kisses: only with people he is intimate with
𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐘: @jokethur thank you!
𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆: @librarywent (for foxy and lee!), @goregrin, @dcmure, @spxnglr, @statusdoloris, @arksylum and you!

Now do all of the even numbers.
You’re really makin me work today huh
Let’s go then
2.
Ralph likes hot chocolate, but, once again, he mainly drinks that sweet, sweet Pibb
Pam likes tea and coffee, she’s not a big fan of hot chocolate, even in her human form
6.
Ralph rarely ever reads, he likes to watch stuff instead- and his favourite movies are NoTLD (ofc it is), The Birds, Psycho, & Friday The 13th. He wasn’t really a big fan of Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Pam was though!)
Pam likes to read old poetry books for comfort, even though half the time she feels like she doesn’t completely understand it, she’s comforted by the words.
14.
Ralph & Pam both are really easy to please, just be nice or within their standards for someone they’d like.
20.
Ralph’s comfort item is that fucking Winchester, sometimes he snuggles with it when he’s drunk.
Pam doesn’t really consider anything her comfort item, but sometimes she’ll sit in the barn and hold one of the random non-sentient/able to be human animals like you’d hold a cat to comfort yourself.
22.
Ralph usually snacks often, and he has a mini fridge stocked with stuff in his room too. He still eats normal meals during the day though.
Pam can go a decent amount of time before eating, but the hungrier she gets the more pissed she’ll be. She usually eats 1-3 big meals/animals in a day and take a nap afterwards if she feels like it.
24.
Ralph can play basketball decently, but his aim is awful and he can never make a basket, he’s also very good at chopping wood
Pam has very sharp teeth and a very strong jaw (even as a human), as a gator she can also deathroll a mf- as a human she can play the trumpet really well
26.
Ralph had a pet dog, Gage, who got hit by a car when he was a wee child
Pam is basically an animal person, she can just go back and forth as she pleases. Damn that tasty well goop.
28.
Ralph would be on Twitter, broadcasting his elaborate bullshit ideas and getting into arguments. He would probably also have lots of other apps but never make accounts for them and forget he downloaded them.
Pam would probably have Instagram and Facebook (she’s like 40 leave her be), she’d avoid any apps that someone like Cooper, Linda, or Billy would use because she considers them a little moody and/or ‘crazy’ and she doesn’t wanna be like that
30.
Ralph, oddly enough, is better in chaotic situations- because he himself is a chaotic dude.
Pam is better in linear situations, she needs time to think and plan and figure out where her morals lie in the moment
32.
Ralph would wear a polo and jeans, he’s not one to dress fancy unless he REALLY has to
Pam would wear something that would definitely be considered a little inappropriate for the situation, but she would rock it anyways because shes Pam
34.
Ralph can drive and is actually decent at it, but he will scream and honk the horn at people if they annoy him
Pam cannot drive but she will definitely pretend like she can
36.
Ralph could always try to kill again- not really a president, but if someone made him snap really bad then wuh woh
Pam’s past alligator lovers have been a fine mix of murderers (20 sank in a lake, 0 found), arsonists (don’t ask how a gator commits arson, they just do), thieves (again, don’t ask), and sad post-divorxe gators. All of various gator genders.
38.
Ralph flops down onto his bed and immediately takes a big ole nap, if he’s feeling up to it he’ll watch a movie, but after a long day he’ll usually just let his radio play
Pam (gator) gets into the pond and sinks to the bottom and stays there for awhile; Pam (human) skinnydips in the pond Maxine-style for a good while
40.
Ralph attempts to track down the mugger to kill them, but because he’s not a master of doxxing people he just ends up failing unless he’s able to catch up to the thief
Pam comforts them as best she can, and tries to make them feel better
42.
Ralph forgets he has a birthday most of the time, he just ends up treating it like a normal day because that’s what his parents did a majority of his life
Pam usually celebrates her birthday by putting a party hat on a bird and then eating it, but when she was a younger gator she would go to epic gator parties to celebrate
44.
I haven’t read a HP book since I was in middle school and I don’t plan to ever again (I wore black for a month cause I was sad and kids called me ‘Snape’. Never again)
46.
Ralph has like a little idea of religion, but he’s mainly fueled by zombie-based superstition.
Pam is fairly agnostic, most gators don’t have a strong sense of faith in any god aside from one that is a very large gator
48.
Ralph is a bit easy to annoy or anger, but it depends on what exactly you say to him, but making him cry is fairly easy if you know where to hit (hint: his beliefs and/or face marks)
Pam isn’t easy to make cry, something really really bad would have to happen for her to start crying, she can easily get angered or annoyed (especially if she’s physically hurt), but she rarely expresses it unless she feels like it
50.
Ralph sleeps really heavy, and aside from the occasional zombie killing fantasy dream he doesn’t really have any (but if he has what he thinks is a ‘premonition’ he will go batshit), but he enjoys staying up late
Pam goes to sleep for short periods of time, usually in water, and is a very light sleeper since she can nearly feel anything that might be happening around her. Sometimes she has dreams, but usually they’re really weird so she never talks about them.

Just remembering some moments of my dad.
He once swung open the bathroom door of mom bathing and flashed his camera. She came running after him, tackling him on the bed in the bedroom. Dad laughing as he revealed that his camera didn't even have film.
Dad exclaiming "Yuckeroo!" whenever receiving a kiss on the cheek or seeing a kiss scene in his Western flicks.
Mom sneakily drinking dad's coffee after he spent so much time perfecting the perfect cup. Dad coming back to half drunken cup.
One time Mom brought a gallon jug of sweet tea. By the next day it tasted sour to me. Both mom and my sister claimed there was nothing wrong and continued to drink it as it was. Later, I literally watched my dad grab the tea, pours himself a cup, makes a face, and immediately grabs the bag of sugar, adding to the cup. Thus, proving I wasn't the only one to think it tasted off.
Dad coming home from work to my eldest sister sitting on a trash can and a couple of random neighbors after spending a lengthy amount of time of trapping a snake that managed to get inside the house. "Oh, let me go get my lasso." was his immediate comment to the situation.
Him waiting to record a particular song off the radio. 5 Pounds of Possum
Dad creating a rhyming game while waiting for the school bus with me. "6:52, where are you? 6:53, where is she? 6:54, putting the pedal to the floor."
Also playing Too Drunk to Fish while waiting for the bus in the mornings.
Dad randomly bringing me with him while house sitting his parents house. We'd be watching the ("Damn") New Yankee Workshop, Justin Wilson cajun cooking, and looney tunes.
The time I showed dad Holes as I was just half way in the book. I had never seen him take over one of my reading books before. He finished it within the day and said I would enjoy the ending. A few days later he discovered that Holes had a movie and he bought it instantly. He enjoyed it too.
There's cassette tapes of his voice. My elementary school would do a yearly Poetry Party. It was to show off how well you could memorize a poem and skip class by speaking aloud the poem to the rest of the school. There was one of The Tortoise and the Eagle (or was it hawk?) that normally would require 2 people to recite. My partner for it flaked on me like a week before the event. Dad recorded the poem in a way to help me memorize the entire thing. Come time of the party, 2 groups of upperclassmen recite the same poem but they had partners. I got to show off as a 2nd/3rd grader reciting it solo.
Dad always being the one behind the camera at family events. Whether it was pictures or videos.
I miss his cooking, his knowledge, and his laughs...

Grounding Techniques
Mental Distraction Techniques
Pick a category of objects and try to think of as many objects as possible that fit within that category (e.g., types of dogs, cities, types of trees, crayon colors, sports)
Pick a letter and think of emotionally positive or neutral words that begin with that letter
Pick a color and look for things of that color. Notice differences in their exact shades
Say or think the alphabet backwards or alternate letters and numbers (A1, B2, C3, D4, etc)
Count backwards from 100 by 3s, 6s, or 7s or count up by prime numbers or perfect squares
Play "fizz-buzz" with yourself. Begin counting to 100 (or over!), but replace any number that contains the number 5 or is a multiple of 5 with the word "fizz" and any number that contains the number 7 or is a multiple of 7 with the word "buzz." For example, 1-15 would be "1, 2, 3, 4, fizz, 6, buzz, 8, 9, fizz, 11, 12, 13, buzz, fizz." When you mess up, compliment yourself and start over
Think of the words to your favorite song or poem or think of facts related to a specific theme
Pick a word or your name and see how many other words you can make from the letters in it
Describe an every day event or process in great detail, listing all of the steps in order and as thoroughly as possible (e.g., how to cook a meal, how to get from your house to your place of work or school, how to do your favorite dance)
Read something technical or meant for children or read words backwards to focus on the process of reading and not the words
Watch a children's television show or movie or watch cute or funny videos on Youtube; it might help to have a playlist already prepared for this
Look at a current news article that is not likely to be upsetting or distressing
Distract yourself with Tetris, Solitaire, Sudoku, word searches, or other puzzle games
Reorientation Techniques
Say or think to yourself: "My name is _________. I am safe right now. I am _____ years old. I am currently at _____________. The date is _____________. If I need help, I am with ________/can call _________. Everything is going to be alright."
List reaffirming statements ("I am fine. Everything is going to be okay. I am strong. I can handle this.")
Ask yourself where you are, what day of the week it is, what day of the month it is, what month it is, what year it is, what season it is, how old you are, and other present-focused questions
Notice things in your surroundings that indicate to you that you're safe or that you're in the present (e.g., locks on your door, electronics that didn't exist when you were younger, the presence of trusted people, a phone so that you can call for help if you need it)
Describe your surroundings in detail, including sights (objects, textures, shapes, colors), sounds, smells, and temperature
Name five things that you see, four that you feel, three that you hear, and two that you smell or taste, and then name one good thing that you like about yourself
Pick four or five brightly colored objects that are easily visible and move your focus between them. Be sure to vary the order of your gaze and concentrate briefly on each one before moving to the next
Think about a fun time that you recently had with a friend or call that friend and ask them to talk about it with you
Sensory-Based Grounding Techniques
Run cool or warm (but not too cold or hot) water over your hands or take a cool or warm bath or shower
Spritz your face (with eyes closed), neck, arms, and hands with a fine water mist
Spray yourself with your favorite perfume and focus on the scent
Feel the weight of your body in your chair or on the floor and the weight of your clothing on your skin
Touch and hold objects around you. Compare the feel, weight, temperature, textures, colors, and materials
Keep a small object with you to touch or play with when you get triggered. Good examples include a smooth stone, a fidget toy, jewelry, or a tiny plushy
Bite into a lemon, orange, or lime, suck on a sour or minty candy or an ice cube, chew cinnamon-flavored gum, or put a few drops of Tabasco sauce on your tongue. Notice the flavor, scent, and texture
Eat something or drink warm tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, and describe to yourself the taste and texture in great detail
Place a cool wash cloth on your face or hold something cold like a can of soda
Listen to soothing or familiar music. If possible, dance to it
Hum, sing, recite poetry, or make up a silly poem or story as you go
Pick up a book and read the first paragraph out loud
Hug another person (if interpersonal touch isn't a trigger). Pay attention to your own pressure and the physical sensations of doing so
Hug a tree! Register the smells of being outside, the wind, and the sights around you
Movement-Based Grounding Techniques
Breathe deeply and slowly and count your breaths
Grab tightly onto your chair or press your feet against the ground as firmly as you can
Rub your palms and clap your hands or wiggle your toes within your socks. Pay attention to the physical sensation of doing so
Stretch out your arms or legs, roll your head on your neck, or clench and unclench your fists
Stomp your feet, walk around, run, jump, ride a bike, do jumping jacks, or do yoga
While walking, notice each footstep and say to yourself "right" and "left" to correspond with the foot currently moving
Squeeze a pillow, stuffed animal, or ball
If you have a soft pet (dog or cat), brush its fur and stroke it. If you don't, brush your own hair slowly and without pulling too much
Color in an adult coloring book, finger paint, or draw anything that comes to mind without worrying about quality
Write whatever comes to mind even if it's nonsense. Try not to write about whatever is upsetting you until you're more capable of doing so without increasing the upset
Write a list of things that make you happy or look for cheerful pictures to make into a collage
Pop bubble wrap or blow and pop actual bubbles
Dig in the dirt or garden, jump on a pile of leaves, or splash around in puddles or mud
Rip up paper or stomp on aluminum cans to crush them
Imagery Techniques
Picture yourself breathing in relaxation, calm, positive feelings, or strength. Picture yourself breathing out whatever is upsetting you. It may help to pair this with imagery of breathing in soothing colors (usually blue, purple, or green) and out more intense colors (usually red or black)
If you need to relax, envision a soothing white or golden light slowly moving up your body, warming and relaxing every part of you that it touches. You can also think of it as protecting you from negativity or from harm
If the problem is intense or uncomfortable emotions, physical sensations, or memories, picture them being surrounded and neutralized by a bright and healing light, temporarily placed in a mental box to be stored for later, or dialed back by an internal controller of intensity
If you have a clear mental picture of what's upsetting you, mentally change it to something silly or harmless. If you're a fan of Harry Potter, cast a mental "riddikulus" to banish the negativity
Picture yourself calm, focused, and able to tackle whatever problems you're facing. Focus on how that would feel in the moment. What would your expression and posture be like? Make whatever changes you need to in order to make your reality reflect your goal
How to Make a Grounding Box
Get a box or basket
Personalize and decorate it with construction paper, wrapping paper, ribbon, stickers, drawings, paint, photographs, glitter, sequins, or anything else that you like
Keep within it:
A list of grounding techniques that you know work for you
A list of positive affirmations and happy memories
A list of the contact information of trusted friends or family who are willing to help and support you
Small sensory objects such as: scented candles, perfumes, or lotions; hard candies or gum; soft fabrics, a stress ball, a stuffed animal, or a fidget toy; happy pictures of you with friends; a CD with relaxing music or meditation tracks. Try to cover all of the senses
A list of possible distractions such as books to read or movies to watch
Small portable distractions such as a pack of playing cards, a small game, or a joke book
A list of comforting things to do such as taking a bubble bath, snuggling up in bed, or meditating
A small journal or notebook
In the Case of a Flashback
Tell yourself that you are having a flashback and are safe now
Remind yourself that the worst is over, and you survived it. What you're feeling now is just a reminder of that trauma and does not fit the present moment
Remind yourself of when and where you are, who you're currently with, and who you can contact if you need help (use the reorientation-focused grounding techniques)
Breathe deeply and slowly. Count your breathes and make sure that you're getting enough air
Use other mental, sensory, movement, and imagery techniques in order to distract yourself, calm yourself, and reorient yourself within the present
If possible or necessary, go somewhere where you can be alone or with a close friend, where you will feel safe, or where you feel protected or shielded
If there is anyone who you can trust or who will support you, reach out to them, let them know what happened, and let them know what you need, what would be best for you, or what they could do to help
Be gentle with yourself and take the time to really recover. If what helps you to recover is to color, take a bubble bath, hug a stuffed animal, or watch a children's movie and if it would not be disruptive to do such things at that point in time, embrace those options whole-heartedly
If possible, note or write down what triggered the flashback, what techniques you tried to use to disrupt the flashback, and what techniques helped
