Hey y'all, I'm still alive! Huzzah! xD I'll admit August has kinda just flown like a blur, and I'm still trying to recover from my sickness. But while that was going on I hit a nostalgia kick, and... well, this is the result! xD

As a 2000s kid I grew up watching all sorts of cartoons, but I especially remember Thomas and Friends. One of my fondest memories of that time was me and my little brother having breakfast before school, and as the intro played and Thomas went into the tunnel, we'd always be excited to see if today's episode would have the static faces or the moving ones (the show wasn't all CGI yet so we saw both types of episodes). It was a lot of fun. xD 

Of course, none of the episodes were neccessarily in order. But while I was sick I decided to rectify that by going back and watching the show from the beginning, and... yeah, I got hooked on it pretty fast. x'D And it's given me a newfound appreciation for the show that I never really had as a kid, and especially for the characters that I otherwise would barely think twice about.

Like these two little gremlins, good ol' Bill and Ben.

If there are two things I have an incredibly soft spot for, it's the found family trope and just sibling dynamics in general. And Thomas and Friends was kind enough to give me two sets of twin brothers to get hopelessly attached to! xD (I absolutely adore Donald and Douglas as well, and I want to draw them too eventually!! <3)

Between petty sibling banter and causing chaos for all the bigger engines around them, they are just so silly and I love them for it. x'D I also find their relationships with BoCo and Edward particularly sweet, especially in fanworks. There's just so much to love and I'm just such a sucker for this kind of duo. x"D

But yeah! That's pretty much how August has gone for me. Watching the original Thomas and Friends and getting hopelessly attached to the characters in it. xD It's actually been a lot of fun! And learning how to draw the trains has been both challenging and equally fun. :D I think I needed a nice challenge to really get my creative juices flowing again, and this was just the challenge I needed!

Not to worry, though! I'm sure I'll be back in the Fnaf boat soon enough. As, like William Afton, I always come back to it. xD

this year my challenge for everyone is to unlearn the association between love and morality. love is not something that is inherently morally good, and the absence of love is not something that is inherently bad. sex without love isn't morally bankrupt, it's just an action. people without love aren't less kind or less good, they're just people. when we can get past this false (and often unnoticed) dichotomy of good love/evil lovelessness then i think we are going to be able to take leaps and bounds in sex positivity, aro advocacy, certain discussions of mental health...

Dc x dp idea: time travel yaaaay

Danny, Sam and Tucker get back from fixing some errors in the time line in France just before the French Revolution.

And sure Danny got mistaken for a French aristocrat that had died the day before they got there but it wasn’t to bad, it only made their jobs easier. It won’t be a problem for them.

Meanwhile Constantine, Batman and whoever the fuck else (imma say Hal, I love that green bitch) are exploring an abandoned manor in France after there being reports of strange, violent activity, and with their latest teammate Phantom not picking up their calls Constantine had to pull these two with him instead.

“Hey guys, Phantom’s a ghost, right?”

Hal sounds hesitant as Constantine replies

“Yes, why?”

“I think I found a picture of him living.”

and there on the wall is a picture of a long dead french aristocrat, with black hair and blue eyes but every other detail the same as Phantom’s

There on the wall sits a photo of Daniel Nightingale, a teenager who was possessed by a demon and killed two servants, then himself.

Alastor and Lucifer are cats sharing the same space and learning to live with each other. Most of the time they will be watching each other with their hair on end. At least once or twice they will groom one another and then swat when one or the other won't sit still. There will be large leaps and zoomies. Long down the line they will be found curled up in a perfect circle.

Charlie put a baby gate in the hall of the top floor so that they can see one another without immediate violence. XD

if i had a nickel for every time takahiro sakurai voiced a guy with long black hair that he usually kept back and was commonly referred to as an ‘emo boy’ by the fandom AND was commonly shipped with a guy with short white hair whose name started with ‘sa’ and was voiced by kaiji tang in the english dub, i would have two nickels. which isn’t a lot but i’ll take the nickels.

Alright, that's enough. I need everyone to be normal about Tonkla right the fuck now.

The takes I've seen about that man have made me lose my mind, to the point where I'm wondering if I've been watching the same show as everyone else. From him spreading diseases to his partners to him faking his grief and doing everything he does for attention, I've been quite perplexed while exploring the show's tags on here and on Twitter to say the least.

Guys. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Tonkla is NOT a difficult character to understand. Korn is arguably more of an inscrutable character than him.

Tonkla has been grieving since we first met him; at first his relationship with Korn that's changed to the point of no return and later his brother who got murdered.

That's it. I don't know why we're demonizing a man who 1) likes having sex and 2) is using sex to get the affection - affection, not attention - he seeks from the man whom he loves and from the man who loves him but Tonkla doesn't.

(I know why and I'll rant in the tags about it 🙂)

And while we're on the subject, I need everyone to be normal about Fuaiz, too, because the takes about his taking this role are even worse. People calling what BOC did by casting him grooming, calling the fans groomers and pedophiles, and so on and so forth.

Are you serious? Are you for real?

Fuaiz played White in DFF who was crying and being in distress 90% of the time, a show which included a scene where he pretended to get stabbed and where he got shaken by Jjay who was screaming to his face. I watched the BTS clip of that - the kid needed a moment to calm down from that experience.

Do you care about that in the same way or is it only a problem when he's pretending to get fucked on screen in a secluded, safe environment with a fucking Intimacy Director involved?

I can totally understand feeling uncomfortable about his age or about the age gap between him and Bas. I'm not judging anyone for that. But there's a difference between feeling discomfort and turning that discomfort into a morality issue. Please stop doing that.

“A good meal and a quiet night.” Alastor relaxes against the arm-chair, sighing in deep content. “Ah there’s nothing like a good, bloody steak and my dear Ella to wind down after a long day.”

“Ella?” Vaggie says, tilting her head curiously. “Ella who?”

“Oh! Is she another one of your Earth friends?” Charlie asks, wide-eyed and awe-struck, likely jumping at the idea of meeting another member of his tight-knit inner circle. Mimzy hadn’t made the best impression, but Charlie had adored Rosie.

“No, she’s a singer,” Lucifer says just as Alastor opens his mouth to answer, dragging his finger along the armrest of the couch with his cheek in his hand. His finger stops and his eyes widen as Charlie and Vaggie look at him in surprise. “I - I mean, she’s a singer, right? Alastor? She sounds like a singer. You know, Lady Ella. Lady Ella,” he spreads his hands in the air as if displaying her name in bright lights, “That’s - that’s a good stage name. Very sophisticated, if you ask me. Very sophisticated.”

Alastor grips his cane and squints at him. Shut. Up, he wants to snap. You’re making it worse.

And get Ella’s name out of your mouth, he adds as an after thought

Lucifer hasn’t brought up when he stumbled on him in the kitchen the other night, and Alastor definitely hasn’t brought it up with him either. No one in the hotel knows about his late night cooking. Not before he moved into the old hotel, not in the six months that he lived in the old hotel, and he has no intention of letting them in on it in this new hotel. Lucifer is an unexpected exception, nothing more, and Alastor would prefer to keep it that way.

“Ah, yes, so you’ve heard of her,” he says brightly, going along with Lucifer’s haphazard save. “A man of good taste. Ella Fitzgerald, the Queen of Jazz,” he throws up his hands with flourish. “First Lady of Song and everything a vocalist should strive to be.”

“Oh, you’ve got another thing in common,” Charlie beams, holding her cards close to her chest. “Where’d you hear about her dad? I don’t think I’ve ever heard you listen to jazz.”

“Oh, I, uh…I dabbled in jazz,” says Lucifer, waving it off with a short, tight laugh that cracks. “You know, I mean, gotta listen to something, right? Or you get all lost in your own thoughts, haha, bleh,” he wiggles his fingers at is head, “you know. Don’t - don’t like that. Ha ha. Voices.”

“I do play Ella’s song often,” Alastor tacks on quickly, “and anyone worth their salt would know her. I’m sure he overheard the other day while I was in the library.”

“Yep, that,” Lucifer finger-guns at him, “that is it. I overheard it. The other night. Uh, day. The other day. Yes.” He clasps his hands and leans back with a charming smile. “That’s what happened.”

“Okaaaaay,” Vaggie says, looking between them. “Well, it’s nice to see you’ve got some things in common. So, uh...next question?”

“Yep,” Lucifer turns his finger-guns on her this time. “Yep, yep, yep. Yepper depper. Let’s do it.”

“I could talk about Ella all day,” Alastor agrees, flapping his hand back and forth with a laugh, “It’s probably best that we move on before I really get going.”
