“What do you think?”
You shrugged. “They’re cute, they seem nice, and your backhand is like, a million times stronger than theirs, so I reckon you could take them in a fight.”
“What, you wouldn’t help?”
“Please. I’m too weak for that,” you said, shaking your wrist limply in Tashi’s face.
She rolled her eyes at you and pushed it out of the way. “Whatever, fine. We’re going.”
She ran her fingers through her hair. After showering, the straight hair from the party had disappeared, giving way to her natural waves. You always thought she looked prettier this way. Softer, somehow.
“Yay,” you said simply. “But just remember that my parents placed my safety and care in your hands, so if we get, like, murdered or something—”
“Oh, shut up,” Tashi groaned, a laugh bubbling out of her mouth, “you were just endorsing them.”
“Yeah, well. I’m indecisive.”
The smile that slowly spread across Tashi’s face told you all you needed to know. Ten seconds later you had grabbed and shrugged on your jacket and the two of you were climbing your way out of her bedroom window.
Now, you’re sitting on the floor of a hotel room, Tashi on your left and Art on your right, Patrick laying comfortably across from you, propped up by his elbows.
The beer in your hand is pretty shitty, which is a fact you find odd considering you can only assume it was either stolen from one of their parents, or paid for using a bribe, and in both of those cases, wouldn’t the beer be better?
But maybe that’s not what you should be focusing on right now, you think, as Patrick leans forwards to take it from your hand. His fingers brush yours as the can crosses over. For the last hour or so, the four of you have gone through eleven cans of beer, each consumed one at a time, being passed around like a bong.
Your eyes linger on the way Patrick’s mouth engulfs the opening of the can, right where yours had just been, and the way he passes it right to Tashi, who does the same as she takes a sip. The flush of heat in your face and belly are hard to ignore, and you’re not too sure how much of it can be attributed to the alcohol.
There’s a stutter in your chest as Art nudges you with his elbow. “So what are you planning on majoring in?”
His cheeks and ears also look flushed, but you think that might just be a consequence of the story Patrick told earlier. It was a sweet story; you assured the boy next to you of that when he’d buried his face in his hands, but he still seemed a little perturbed.
It was a sweet story though, you muse. Tashi said that they seemed like brothers, but you thought they seemed like they were an old married couple.
You’re brought back out of your thoughts as Tashi hands you the beer. “Oh, um. I’m not too set on anything yet, but I think maybe journalism.”
Patrick lets out a whistle. “What, not physiotherapy or sports medicine?”
You shrug, and before you can stop yourself, you say, “Just because I was a tennis player doesn’t mean it’s my whole personality.”
Immediately, you wince. Wrong place, wrong time. You steal a quick glance at Tashi, but she seems unaffected. Right. It’s Tashi. The last thing she feels is insecure. She simply looks at you.
But for good measure, you add, “I mean, I can still do sports news, or something.”
Against the better judgement of your burning stomach and your sluggish thoughts, you take another swig and then pass the can to Art.
“Journalism suits you,” he comments quietly as he takes it. You give him a small smile. He takes a small sip of the beer, and you can’t help but watch the way his Adam’s apple shifts when he swallows.
“I need some ice,” announces Tashi. She rises from her position on the floor.
Patrick wastes no time in scrambling up too. “I’ll come with!”
Tashi gives you a look like she’s exasperated, but you know better from the way she waits for Patrick to grab his key and open the door for her. She doesn’t look back as she walks out, but Patrick calls out a teasing, “See you guys later,” before the door closes fully.
When you turn your head towards Art, you see that he’s looking right at you.
“You sure do that a lot,” you mumble.
He smiles in a way that seems endeared and a little confused. “What?”
“Stare.”
“Sorry, I just—”
“No, no, it’s fine. It’s nice. I- I, uh.” Your thoughts are racing, everywhere and nowhere all at once, as you struggle to find the words. The way Art looks at you sends a buzz of something in your abdomen, and your mind becomes all the more scrambled. “I need to stand up.”
You stand quickly, maybe too quickly, and immediately stumble.
“Whoa, you okay?” Art’s quick to jump to his feet. His hands find their place on either side of your waist to steady you. Now you really can’t focus.
“Yeah,” you hear yourself say, “I think I should sit down instead.”
You’re very aware of the fact that his hand stays on your waist as you bumble over to the edge of the bed and take a seat.
There’s a pang of disappointment when his hand leaves your waist, and another when he stands unsurely in front of you. You pat the spot next to you.
“Sit. Please.”
He complies. Perched on the edge of the bed, hands in his lap, he’s much closer than when you were sitting on the floor together. You fiddle with your hands and steal glances at him every now and then.
“I wanted to ask you,” Art breaks the silence, “do you ever miss it?”
You don’t need to ask what he means by ‘it.’
There’s a moment where you gaze off, eyes wandering towards the door, before they return to the boy next to you and you shake your head.
“I don’t, not really.” You bite the inside of your cheek in thought. “It was fun for a while, and I liked being good at something, but I think I just fell out of love with it after a while. Like my whole life became just tennis, and thinking about a future in tennis. If I’m being honest, the injury was like a miracle to me.”
Art looks thoughtful at that. “What’s so wrong with a life of tennis?”
“Well. I mean, nothing, I guess. It just took a lot more time and effort than I would’ve liked. And there’s all the things I had to give up for it.”
He looks at you like he’s waiting for you to continue, so you do. “Cheeseburgers, sleeping in. Love.”
The bed dips closer to you as he shuffles a little closer. It prompts you to look back up at him.
The curls on his forehead hang low, just over his eyes. His hand rests just next to your thigh, and he rests his weight on it to lean just a bit closer. “You don’t think you can be in love and play tennis at the same time?”
Art’s presence has a magnetic effect on you. There’s a gravitational pull that has you angling your body towards him and moving ever so slightly closer to him.
“I don’t know. Do you?”
His eyes dart down to your lips. It’s an action that doesn’t go unnoticed by you, and you feel the corners of your mouth twitch upwards as you do the same. You can almost feel the warmth of his exhale as your faces draw closer and closer.
“Can I?” Art whispers.
“Please,” you respond.
His hand comes off the bed to rest on your cheek, and then he’s kissing you. It’s soft, gentle, but there’s an urgency in the way his tongue teases the entrance of your lips, and the way he moves even closer towards you, almost as if he’s chasing you.
Your hands find themselves at the back of his neck, fingers tangling in his hair. His other hand moves to rest on your waist. Then your thigh. You let out a hum as your stomach does a little leap. Then, he pulls away for a fraction of a second to take you in, before his lips are on yours again. It’s electric, when he tilts his head slightly to the other side, when the hand on your cheek slides down to your jaw to bring you closer, when you hear a low groan in the base of his throat as his hand slides to the inner part of your thigh.
Then you hear the key at the door, and you both jump apart.
Tashi has a cup of ice water in her hand when she surveys the scene in front of her.
Your bodies are still angled suspiciously towards each other and your hands both rest awkwardly in your laps. Little is left to the imagination. You can still feel the butterflies in your stomach and the racing of your heart when Patrick raises his eyebrows at the two of you, a grin on his face.
“So,” he begins, “what have you guys been up to?”
Art and you speak at the same time. “Oh, you know, nothing much.” “Just chilling.”
Tashi’s face is thoughtful, as she looks at you and her lips quirk up in a smile. She nods her head to the door behind her. “Well, it’s late. We should go.”
Your eyes dart back and forth between the three people in the room. Slowly, you stand, giving Art an awkward kind of smile as you brush past him.
“Wait,” Patrick exclaims, “can I get your phone number?”
She shrugs back at him, holding the door open. “Play some real tennis tomorrow, and then I’ll give you my number.”
“So like, if I win?”
“You don’t have to win to play well.”
You’re not sure where this leaves you and Art in the mix, but Tashi is looking at you expectantly from the doorway, and you fear you don’t have the time to decide now. With an apologetic look and a wave, you mutter, “See you guys,” and then you’re out the door.
In the end, Patrick does win. He gives a flourishing bow as Tashi shrugs and applauds him. She turns to whisper something in your ear, but the words make no contact with your thoughts. As Art looks dejectedly at his racket, then at his best friend across the court, you stand abruptly. Tashi looks at you, bewildered.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Wait, I was—”
Whatever her next words are, they die in her throat as she sighs and watches you thread your way through the stands and go down the stairs to the side of the court.
“Hey!” you call out. Art’s head perks up and his eyes search for the source of the sound until they land on you. He jogs to meet you.
“Hi.”
“Um,” you say, feeling suddenly like your foot has been shoved into your mouth, “you did really well.”
Art looks at you deadpan, but a smile starts to show in his eyes. “I lost.”
“Still, you were really good.” Your eyes glue themselves to the floor as you start to regret coming over so hastily without planning what to say.
“Well, thanks. Really. It means a lot coming from you.” Looking back up, you see him scratching the back of his head nervously. It’s an odd look, considering he’s also drenched in sweat, and his glistening skin makes him look even more nervous than he is. “Look, uh. I know we didn’t make a deal or anything, but do you think I could get your number?”
Maybe this wasn’t such a mistake. “Yeah, I think I could make that happen.”
Tumblr media
SIX WEEKS LATER.
God, you’re stressed right now. The hem of your top has fallen victim to your incessant fiddling as you tug at it, scrunch it up, release it and repeat.
“You’re acting like it’s your first date ever,” Tashi says, rolling her eyes. There’s a smile playing at her lips that tells you she isn’t trying to be as mean as she sounds.
“He’s cute, okay? I’m nervous.”
Tashi comes up behind you and you meet her eyes in the mirror. A shiver runs down your spine as she tugs at the collar of your jacket, knuckles brushing your neck in the process.
“You should take this off.”
“What? Why?” You stare at her reflection. “I know it’s still summer, but it’s nighttime, so like…” Her deadpan expression has you trailing off. “What?”
“You can wear his jacket instead.”
There’s a hollow silence as your mouth forms an ‘o’. Your fingers move to tug at the sleeves of the jacket, gaze averted from hers for a moment.
“You think he’ll offer?”
Another eye roll. “The guy’s like, obsessed with you. Of course he’ll offer. Doesn’t hurt to throw in a little shiver either.”
“What if he’s not wearing a jacket?”
“Oh, he’s wearing a jacket.” She waves her cell phone in your face. “Patrick texted me an update.”
You grin and shrug off the jacket as you turn to face her. “Who knew Tashi Duncan was such a sucker for clichés?”
“I’m just trying to make sure your date goes well,” Tashi scoffs as she snatches the jacket from your hands. “You’re the one who swoons every time you watch a romcom.”
She’s right about that one.
Tashi smacks her lips as she hangs your jacket back up in your closet. “I still don’t get why you’re so nervous. I thought we broke all the ice at the hotel.”
“Well, I can still be nervous. Just because you and Patrick had sex two weeks ago doesn’t mean I have to be as confident.”
She sighs because you’re right. Tonight is your first date. With Art. Not your first date ever. But you sure do feel nervous enough to pretend it is.
You and Art have been texting nonstop for the last six weeks, but between the odd part time jobs you’ve picked up over the summer and his tennis training, you haven’t had any time to hang out, unless your best friends who managed to squeeze in their first date, first time and first sleepover together all in one go. But Tashi and Patrick are much more go getter than you.
Tashi didn’t give you shit for your lack of fervour in pursuing whatever relationship you and Art had, but you still felt a little perturbed when she called you the day after her night with Patrick, and told you that he’d asked about you guys.
(“Does he not talk to Art about it?” you asked.
“He said Art’s happy, but he wanted to know how things were going on your end. Since you guys have only been texting.”)
So now you feel pressured. Like somehow your relationship is linked to Patrick and Tashi. Like they’re waiting for you guys to catch up.
But you don’t say any of that. Because you want things to go at your own pace, you keep quiet. Because you don’t want to speak it into existence, even if Tashi will roll her eyes and call you ridiculous for it because she knows your life is yours and hers is hers, despite the way she keeps trying to push you in certain directions.
When the doorbell inevitably rings, you and Tashi exchange looks. She gives you a nod. It’s more firm than comforting, like she’s sending you off to play at Wimbledon and she knows you’re going to win.
Your parents aren’t home for the next few days, which is why you strategically planned your date for tonight, because God forbid they use their last few weeks with you living under their roof to embarrass you in front of a guy. You almost expect Tashi to answer the door for you as if she’s your mother, but instead, she shoves your bag in your chest, says, “I’m using your shampoo and eating all your snacks,” and pushes you out of the bedroom door, then closes it.
One last check in the nearest reflective surface, and you’re ready.
Art is dressed casually, like you, in jeans and a polo. Tashi was right in saying that he would wear a jacket. In the light of your front porch, he looks especially gentle, the warm light threading through his hair like a halo.
The smile that lights up his face when you open the door has the potential to end your whole bloodline, you swear. The way your heart rate picks up feels like some kind of fight or flight response, but you’re willing to ignore it all for him.
“Hey,” he says. His voice has a comforting cadence, you think. It’s been six weeks since you’ve last heard it, since you were always too scared to call him. But it’s a sound like coming home.
“Hi,” you speak softly.
There’s a bouquet in his hands, which he holds out to you, one hand tucked in his jeans. “I brought these for you.”
You take them gingerly, trying to fight the grin that threatens to split your face in half. He’s so cute. “Thank you. They’re beautiful.”
You put them on the table just inside. Tashi will eventually make her way downstairs and put them in some water for you. Closing the door, you turn back to Art, who holds his hand out to you. It’s such a strangely innocent gesture that you almost catch yourself giggling like a schoolgirl.
“Shall we?”
You take it, grinning like a madman. “We shall.”
Tumblr media
“I never got to hear what you want to major in.” The fry in your hand is currently being waved around as though you’re conducting an orchestra.
“Oh. I don’t know,” Art averts his eyes to his plate. “I haven’t thought about it much.”
“I won’t judge,” you prompt gently.
He looks contemplative, and wets his bottom lip with his tongue briefly before looking up at you. “Okay.”
“Okay…” You gesture your fry towards him.
“You promise you won’t judge?” He asks, bobbing his head questioningly at you
You lean towards the table with your hand over your heart. “I swear it.”
“Physics. Or engineering.”
Sitting back in your seat, you survey him.
“That suits you,” you say genuinely. After you’ve said the words, you’re reminded all too well of the night in the hotel room again, and your cheeks warm.
“Thanks,” Art says, gazing at you. “Patrick says that too, before he calls me a loser.”
“I’m guessing you’re more studious than he is.”
“You’d be right.”
Another sip of your milkshake. “I think it’s cool. Maybe we’ll even have some classes together.”
Art smiles his eye-crinkling smile across the table. “Yeah, maybe we will.”
Tumblr media
You don’t even need to pretend to shiver. The second you’ve stepped out of the restaurant, Art’s jacket is slipped onto your shoulders. It’s warm, and smells faintly like sandalwood mixed with laundry detergent. You resist the urge to inhale the collar. Instead you smile shyly, and take his hand. There’s a knot forming in your chest at the thought of the night being over, but when the two of you reach his car, Art doesn’t take out his keys. He turns and leans against the side of his car, hand still entwined with your own.
“I had a lot of fun tonight,” he says simply.
Your lips quirk up in amusement. “So did I.”
He hums. Your hands are swung from side to side as he looks down at them. You can’t help the laugh that escapes you as you step closer.
“What are you thinking about?” you whisper. You know what he’s thinking about.
He looks down at you, and does a one shoulder shrug. “I’m thinking about how much I want to kiss you.”
Your heart stops and gets jumpstarted again in the span of about six milliseconds. God. You knew it was coming, but you still couldn’t prepare yourself.
“Not asking anymore, are we?” You grin, chest thumping like crazy.
“Oh, come on.” With a tug on your hand, you’re pulled flush against him, chest to chest.
Art leans in to your ear, and whispers as if divulging a well-kept secret. “May I please kiss you?”
The tickle of his breath over your jaw sends a zap of electricity through every single nerve in your body. Your breath hitches. “You may.”
You’re not sure you’ll ever get sick of Art Donaldson’s smile. The curve of his mouth as he leans in, brushing his nose to yours before your lips meet.
Tumblr media
Your computer pings.
Patrick Zweig sent you a friend request.
You raise an eyebrow and hit ‘accept.’
A minute later, there’s another notification.
Patrick Zweig wrote on your wall. “Congratulations on a successful first date with @Art Donaldson! 😘”.

A Not-So-Disastrous Romance (Book 1) Chapter Twenty-Three
Kusuo Saiki x Reader
Chapter Twenty-Three: Rich Transfer Trouble
Summary: Metori Saiko arrives at PK Academy and immediately messes up the entire ecosystem of students.
            “We’re getting a new transfer student,” said (Y/N), sitting down next to Saiki. “But I’m guessing you already know that.”
            Saiki nodded. He’d heard it in everyone’s thoughts and conversations all morning.
            “What do you know about him?” asked (Y/N).
            Despite everything that had gone through their mind (and all the pacing and journaling and screaming into a pillow) after the strange exchange with Saiki the previous night, (Y/N) was determined to act natural. After all, they had no idea what he was going to say or what they were going to say or even what had been happening. It had just been a movie night. That was all. (Y/N) needed to ignore how quickly their heart beat sitting next to him.
            “He’s the son of the Saiko Group,” said Saiki.
            He, too, was trying to act normal. This was achievable since he was non-expressive, but he, too, was confused about last night. Saiki wasn’t entirely sure what he was going to say when he was looking at (Y/N) and holding their hand. But something important had been in the air. If they had been left to continue…Saiki wasn’t sure what was going to happen. However, Saiki refused to let that hold him back from being around (Y/N). Even if the pressure in his chest—like words unspoken—still rested there, Saiki would act normal. That meant being their friend. And Saiki wouldn’t give that up for anything.
            “Is that why everyone’s excited? He’s rich?” said (Y/N).
            “Yes,” said Saiki.
            “I wonder why he’s coming here,” said (Y/N).
            “Everyone, sit down,” said their teacher, walking in. “I will introduce the transfer student. This is Metori Saiko.
            Behind her, a man walked up and rolled out a red carpet. A boy with silver hair, green eyes, and a gold earring walked in. In one hand, he held a wad of cash.
            “I am Metori Saiko,” he announced. He stood at the front of the class. “Let me warn you. I have no intention of mingling with you peons. Do not speak to me.”
            Instantly, everyone’s excitement to meet him went out the window.
            “Take a seat there,” said the teacher, gesturing to an open seat.
            “No,” said Saiko. “You, peon with the weird lips—” he pointed at Takahashi. “—sit somewhere else.”
            Poor Takahashi, thought (Y/N). They frowned. And what a demanding guy.
            “ ‘Peon with weird lips?’ ” Takahashi glared. “Do you think you’re better than me because you’re rich?!”
            “I don’t think I’m better. I’m actually better,” said Saiko matter-of-factly.
            “Yikes,” said (Y/N), making a face. “He has terrible people-skills.”
            Saiki nodded in agreement, and that was saying something since he actively tried to avoid people.
            “Quit mocking me!” said Takahashi, rushing up.
            Saiko tucked a wad of cash into Takahashi’s pocket.
            “Teacher, I’ll switch seats!” said Takahashi happily.
            “He got bought off,” said (Y/N), shaking their head in disappointment. “I have a feeling he’s going to be trouble.”
            “As long as he leaves me alone, I don’t care,” said Saiki.
            “That’s a lie,” said (Y/N). “And besides, if he causes trouble for the class, he’ll cause problems for you.”
            “Out of the way, peon with a middle part,” said Saiko, kicking Kuboyasu’s backpack out of the way of his walk.
            Kuboyasu glared at Saiko. “Why did you transfer to our school?!”
            “I usually wouldn’t step foot in a filthy school like this one without any good reason,” said Saiko. He turned to face another student. “You are the reason, Kokomi Teruhashi.” He took her hands. “I saw you on the street before and did some research. I like you. Be my girl.”
            “What?!” cried Teruhashi.
            “What?!” a general cry went up through the class.
            “Please don’t grab someone you stalked,” said (Y/N), smiling and pulling Teruhashi away from Saiko.
            The rich boy narrowed his eyes as (Y/N) separated them and Teruhashi looked at them in relief. Teruhashi was (Y/N)’s friend, and they refused to leave her to fend for herself against a random guy.
            “Thank you,” said Teruhashi.
            “Of course, Kokomi.” (Y/N) squeezed her shoulder. “If you need any help with, just let me know.” They smiled brightly. “I have a mean right hook.”
            Kaidou shivered as he remembered seeing in, and Saiki nodded.
            “I didn’t know you were a delinquent, (L/N),” said Kuboyasu. I thought they were the ultimate goody-goody.
            “They’re not,” assured Saiki.
l
            “There’re already rumors,” huffed Kuboyasu as he sat down for lunch with Kaidou, Saiki, and (Y/N).
            “They think Teruhashi’s really going to say yes,” said (Y/N). “The girls do. The boys are scared of her answer.” They frowned. “I hope she’s okay.”
            “I can’t stand guys like him,” said Kuboyasu. “Pushing people around and thinking they can get whatever they want just because they have some power.”
            (Y/N) nodded firmly. They hated injustice.
            “Calm down, Aren,” said Kaidou worriedly. “He lives in a different world from us. He even has a butler and bodyguards with a full buffet. Just leave him alone.”
            “He may live in a different world, but he’s here now. I’ll beat him up,” said Kuboyasu.
            “But he has bodyguards,” said Kaidou.
            “I’ll beat up the bodyguards, too,” said Kuboyasu.
            “But what if his parents appear?”
            “I’ll have to beat them up, too.”
            “That’s too much beating people up.”
            “What are you peons talking about?” Saiko appeared next to them.
            “Saiko,” exclaimed Kuboyasu, Kaidou, and (Y/N).
            “I have no interest in your poor stories,” said Saiko. He looked at (Y/N). “You. Have you seen Kokomi?”
            “Nope, and I’m not facilitating your stalking,” said (Y/N) brightly. “I’m sure if you stop being a creep and work on yourself, though, she’d be your friend.”
            “Why are you calling her ‘Kokomi?’ ” snapped Kuboyasu. “Let me tell you something, Teruhashi has a huge fan base. They will kill you.”
            “Excuse me, Mr. Saiko,” said the leader of the “Kokomins” (a terrible name for a weird club). “We could not find Teruhashi. She may be hiding in the girl’s room.”
            “Is everyone going along with this?” exclaimed (Y/N).
            “What’s wrong with you!? Did everyone sell their souls?” said Kuboyasu, grabbing one boy’s collar.
            “Yes,” said Saiko. “I easily bought them off. I can control anyone in this world using my money. Soon enough, Kokomi will fall for me and be mine.”
            “How dare you!” Kuboyasu stood up and curled his hand into a fist. The former delinquent had had enough.
            (Y/N) stood up from the table before the argument escalated and slipped away. Saiki watched them go, nearly frowning. They were obviously going to check on Teruhashi, their friend. Saiki sighed. He hoped this craziness didn’t spiral out of control (which it already was by most people’s standards).
            “Kokomi?” said (Y/N), walking into the restroom.
            “Oh, (Y/N),” said Teruhashi, sighing as she put away her phone. “Is he still looking for me?”
            “Yes,” said (Y/N). “And I think he knows that you’re in here.”
            Teruhashi groaned. “I just want time to think.”
            “Are you considering his offer?” asked (Y/N), blinking in surprise. They hadn’t expected that.
            “Well, I mean, he’s rich, and I want to be with someone successful,” said Teruhashi. “But I’m not really…interested in him.”
            Right, you like Kusuo like I do, thought (Y/N). However, they weren’t going to hold that against Teruhashi. Saiki was a likable boy. “Then say no. You shouldn’t feel any pressure to be with anyone you don’t want to be with.”
            “…Is it really so simple?” said Teruhashi. “I don’t want to upset people. After all, I’m Kokomi Teruhashi.” I’m the prefect pretty girl.
            (Y/N) shrugged. “You are, but you’re a person. You should treat yourself with the same respect you give others.”
            Teruhashi stared at (Y/N). “I can just say no? Even if it makes him upset?”
            “Uh, yeah, you don’t need to be nice to him after he’s been this annoying,” said (Y/N). They chuckled. “He kinda forfeit civility if you don’t want to give it, but you can act as you want. If you want to give him a chance to back out respectfully, then you can. Or you can be blunt. It’s up to you, Kokomi.” They smiled.
            The pure encouragement and honesty from Teruhashi made her straighten. She was always the perfect pretty girl, she knew that, but to hear that she could also take care of herself as such was a nice reminder. (Y/N)’s a good friend. “Then I think I’ll—”
            “There you are.” Saiko stepped into the bathroom.
            “Okay, okay, woah, this is the girl’s restroom, you shouldn’t be in here,” said (Y/N), waving their hands.
            “I’ll just make it the boy’s restroom,” said Saiko. He snapped his fingers, and construction workers came in. “Get to work.”
            “Yes, sir,” said the workers, beginning to put up symbols for the men’s room and changing the toilets.
            This feels like a bit much, thought (Y/N).
            “So, what were you going to say, Kokomi?” said Saiko. “You’ve always wanted this to happen, right? I will save you from your life of poverty. There is no proper man or woman at this school. Come to me. Become the wife of Metori Saiko—”
            We’re already at marriage?! thought (Y/N), eyes widening.
            “—the heir to the Saiko Group,” finished Saiko.
            Teruhashi shook her head. “I refuse.”
            “What?” Saiko was legitimately confused. “Why?”
            Up until recently, I would’ve taken the offer without hesitation. But now I cannot forgive anyone who mocks my friends, thought Teruhashi. And (Y/N) is right. I don’t like him in that way. And I should.
            “Because I’m not in love with you,” said Teruhashi. “I’m already in love with someone else.” She couldn’t speak the name, not in front of Saiko and (Y/N), but she could say that much. She knew it was true.
            (Y/N) was proud of Teruhashi for speaking plainly, even if it was admitting that she loved Saiki like (Y/N) did.
            “What? With who?” demanded Saiko. “Surely no one in this school is worthy of you.”
            “I, uh, it’s, uh,” Teruhashi panicked.
            “It doesn’t matter who it is,” said (Y/N). “It’s not you, so she doesn’t want to be with you.” They stepped up next to Teruhashi, giving her their full support and encouragement.
            Teruhashi nodded, keeping her strong façade up. “That’s right. I can’t date you. I’m sorry, but I just don’t feel the same.”
            “I see.” Saiko spoke coldly. “So you’re choosing your peon friends over me?” He pointed accusatorily at (Y/N), who crossed their arms.
            “Yes. Friendship matters to me,” said Teruhashi, smiling at (Y/N).
            “So your brain is still that of a farm girl,” said Saiko. He turned away. “Whatever. There are plenty of other women.” Still, he wore an angry expression as he walked out.
            Teruhashi breathed a sigh of relief. “At least he took it well enough.”
            (Y/N) nodded, but they weren’t as convinced. They had a feeling a lot of money was about to be thrown around and cause trouble for them and their friends.
l
            Sure enough, when the next day arrived at school, the group of students that consisted of Saiki and (Y/N) and the rest of his bothers was left in a cloud of worry and stress.
            “Kuboyasu got arrested?” said Yumehara, frowning in concern.
            “Yeah, he was charged with assaulting Saiko’s bodyguard,” said Kaidou, nodding. He put his hands on his hips. “Even if the bodyguard threw the first punch.”
            “That’s awful,” said Teruhashi.
            “Saiko is putting the pressure on us, too,” said Kaidou. “My father was suddenly transferred. I may need to move to Siberia.”
            “We might end up in the same class again,” said Saiki sarcastically since his own father had received a similar notice.
            Mera sighed. “Yesterday, the electricity and water in my house were suddenly shut off.”
            “In the Shonen Jump I bought yesterday, there was snot on three pages,” said Nendou.
            “That has nothing to do with this,” said Saiki. He glanced at (Y/N), who had been unnaturally quiet. “(Y/N), what about you?”
            “My parents might be transferred,” they said quietly. “But they’re going to Madagascar and Siberia. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do if that happens.”
            Their eyes remained trained on the floor, and Saiki’s heart constricted at the sad expression he didn’t ever want to see on their face.
            “I heard that the peon with the middle part was arrested.” A red carpet rolled out, and Saiko stepped into the classroom. He smirked smugly.
            “Saiko!” exclaimed Kaidou.
            “I heard Sullen Peon and Little Peon and Interfering Peon—”
            Saiki assumed the last one was (Y/N).
            “—have parents moving to Siberia,” said Saiko.
            “Saiki, (L/N), you’re going to Siberia High, too?!” said Kaidou.
            “My parents are arguing over which country I should go to,” said (Y/N), shrugging tiredly.
            “…” Saiki shifted at the unnaturally sad expression on their face. It didn’t belong on the face of someone who deserved to smile.
            “You, peon with the funny chin, did you enjoy your comic yesterday?” said Saiko, smirking at Nendou. “Super poor girl, did you enjoy the laxative bread left in front of your house?” He grinned at the group. “You are no match for me.” He looked directly at Teruhashi. “If you continue to rebel, the people around you will continue to suffer. You’d better think twice.” He turned and left the room, satisfied at the intimidating presence he’d established.
            “Don’t worry, Teruhashi,” said Kaidou, his bravery coming out naturally in the right moment. For all his cowardice, he cared about his friends and wouldn’t let them be pushed around. “We can take it.”
            “Right! We can live with a little snot and or moving to Siberia,” said Nendou.
            “I agree,” said Kaidou.
            “We’re with you, Kokomi,” said Yumehara.
            “Right!” said Mera.
            “Don’t let him push you around,” said (Y/N), putting on a smile.
            “Thank you, guys,” said Teruhashi, smiling. “If there’s anything I can do to help you all, tell me. You’re going through so much trouble for me.”
            The others clamored to assure her it was alright, but (Y/N) just nodded, and Saiki looked at them.
            “(Y/N), are you alright?” said Saiki.
            “I’m fine.” (Y/N) looked at the floor. “I just don’t want to leave you all and be lonely in a new country.” They looked up at Saiki. “I like it here. I’d miss you.”
            Tears collected in their eyes, but (Y/N) hastily wiped them away.
            The sight of the tears snapped something in Saiki. He narrowed his eyes. Saiko had crossed the line.
            It’s time to show him who he is no match for.
            Saiki refused to let someone make (Y/N) cry.
l
            Saiko lounged on a throne of cash, smirking. Everything was unfolding as he planned it. “Kokomi has been backed into a corner.”
            “Master, you have guests,” said his butler, opening the door to his room.
            “Are the peons here to apologize?” said Saiko.
            “Not exactly,” said the butler. He gestured to the window, and Saiko looked out.
            Below, a crowd of Kokomins stood with wooden swords at the ready. For all the money they’d been given, seeing Teruhashi upset had broken the spell over them. They were ready to punish Saiko for hurting Teruhashi, so they were there to break down the gates.
            “What is this?” cried Saiko. He turned to his bodyguards. “Drive them away!”
            “Yes, sir,” said his men, running out to take on the students of PK Academy.
            “How dare they,” said Saiko, reaching for his room’s phone. “I’ll care for backup.”
            A hand closed the communication. It was a boy in a blue cloak, similar to that of the Kokomins but not declaring his love of Teruhashi, and wearing a helmet like that of Cyborg Cider-man No. 2. Pink hair peaked out beneath it.
            “What?! Who are you?!” cried Saiko in fear as the stranger appeared in his room and approached.
            “You caused me a lot of trouble,” said Saiki, approaching and swinging his arm around. “And you made someone I care about cry. I will make you pay for it.”
            “Wait! Calm down!” said Saiko. He gestured to the throne of cash. “I will give you that money. You can even give each one of the people below one million yen!”
            “Money?” Saiki picked up a stack.
            “Yes!” said Saiko, nodding.
            Saiko replied by opening the windows and letting a gust of wind (psychically created) blow the bills out the window. They rained down over the boys below as they fought the guards.
            “Whoops. My hand slipped,” said Saiki, monotone.
            “What are you doing?!” cried Saiko.
            “If you can control them with money as you insisted, this will stop them,” said Saiki.
            “What?” Saiko peered down.
            “Don’t get distracted!” cried the Kokomins, still battling. The enticement of money was nothing compared to their anger at seeing Teruhashi hurt.
            “W-What is going on?” said Saiko, taking a step back in shock as money failed him for the first time in his life.
            The Kokomin’s anger was nothing to Saiki’s fury at seeing (Y/N)’s tears. “There are some things money cannot buy.” Saiki let cash knock Saiko to the ground. He turned and faced Saiko with a smirk. “Not even a mountain of coffee jelly could have bought me off.” Nothing would stop me from making (Y/N) smile again. He walked away, leaving Saiko buried under his cash.
l
            The next day, the students of PK Academy were much happier. Teruhashi was smiling once more, and all of her friends were staying in Japan and not getting unnecessary trouble. Peace had been restored.
            Saiki sighed and sat back in his chair. Yare yare. As usual, he’d had to get involved. At least everything was cleared up now.
            “Kusuo.” (Y/N) leaned in, and he turned to them. They smiled. “Thank you for fixing things.” Everyone at school thought the Kokomins had saved the day, but (Y/N) knew who had really interceded to help them.
            Saiki smiled ever-so-slightly. “You’re welcome.” All the trouble was worth it for that smile to come out again. Saiki would do anything for (Y/N)’s smile.

Do you think the Lady Whistledown fight is going to be bad?
uh. yeah.
like don't get me wrong i support penelope's rights. and her wrongs. but i also support colin's rights and wrongs, including his right to be very hurt by this secret.
this is...this is a huge thing to keep from him. i'm not saying she should have told him as soon as they were engaged, that girl was still spinning from baby's first fingering. i'm saying that we know she doesn't do it right after either. we know eloise is threatening to tell him herself. she is panicking. she is stressed. she is scared to lose him.
this isn't some random secret or a mistake like reading his journal. this is much bigger than that and i get why she's so terrified, i do. i think she's going to make mistakes out of that fear and it's going to catch up to her.
gonna pull in all my enemies to lovers people in close for a hug and remind them that the conflict for their ship is the story. friends to lovers don't need to overcome a conflict to get along, they already do. they need something else to overcome.
not to mention that this season is clearly following eros and psyche so she's gonna betray his trust. like, big time. i feel like they're going to have some character regression on both sides (which, normal storytelling tactic) and it's going to bring them back to a stronger point.
no one can hurt you the way someone who loves you can. it's probably going to be bad and they're going to say some horrible things to each other. it's gonna hurt all of our feelings i'd bet, ha. but they'll be alright once they figure it out.

LOVE THE MERMAID AU FOR OBEY ME
Love em so much 🥹
Idk what to even ask about or say to be honest. my brain turns so empty when i get in the ask box haha 😅
If your asks and stuff are open then Uhmmmmmmmm i think maybe.... ... If you're not taking requests then don't worry about this! I love your stuff and also i get that burnout and needing a break from social media stuff is a thing!
Also i genuinely can't think right now... I kinda hoped that if i kept typing I'd come up with something, kinda like how sometimes rambles help with word flow but eh hhhhh.
I definitely like mermaid au obey me stuff.... And i like making arts and crafts... So maybe reactions to reader making lil stuff from either the island or shipwrecks for the mer brothers?
Also I definitely want you to know i love your stuff and i really liked your Rook Hunt drawing and i LOVE THE MERMAID AU and I'll be back if i come up with anything to say (can't tell you how long i spent just typing random words and rambling and then deleting them trying to get my thoughts and words to flow 😅 I'm so tired)
please, this made me cry😭 you are so sweet, i really do appreciate this. I've been through abit of a rough patch with college so this just made me feel better<3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mer-brothers with a artsy MC
Ever since MC got stranded on the island and made friends with 7 mer-folk, they found out there wasn't much to do whenever they were alone and away from the brothers. So one day, MC decided to entertain themselves by going exploring, heading deep into the forest in the middle of the island only to find some players, a messy journal, a surprisingly dry pencil, a few little things of paint mixer, a sharp poking tool, and a whole box of un-rusted wire.
MC was over the moon after finding the box of supplies, eagerly taking it back to the cove through the land entrance. The brothers were just coming back from a bountiful hunt out near the reefs, each bringing in some sort of edible sea creature behind them. Mammon was the first to notice you fiddling with a box of stuff and left his meal in his designated pool, the fins on the end of his tail hiding it from a hungry beel.
His head was tilted in confusion as you fussed over a ratty looking box, wasn't the sparkly treasure chest he brought back to the cove not good enough that you had to resort to a old wooden crate? It wasn't until caught a glimpse of you already starting to bend and twist the wire that he started to get more curious, hauling himself up onto the rock and crawling over to you.
The others only notice this when they hear mammon start to stutter out words, looking over to see you holding his wrist and hand while holding the wire carefully for measurements. It doesn't take long until they are all up on the rock near your little box to investigate what you are doing, all of them asking questions here and there while you bend and twist the wire to fix around Mammons wrist comfortable. It was this moment that opened up a lot more opportunities to keep yourself entertained when the brothers where away.
The brothers would come back and randomly find little rocks painted with home made paint you made with random crushed materials mixed with paint mixer. They would find little charms, necklaces, rings, piercings and bracelets you made on your little ledge inside the cove. As much as they would like to look at your drawings, they would have to wait for their hands to dry before touching the paper.
It was when they found out you carved a little whale out of whale bone with a sharp rock where they started to try and find more arty supplies for you whenever they go out and hunt. They love seeing your little creations, they would be even more amazed if you made them a little piece for them to keep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lucifer- He gets some cute little waist jewelry from you made from pearls, rope, and small bits of wire. He enjoys it because it helps keeps up his waist cloth like a belt, plus it makes his waist nicer. He thanked you for it and was pleasantly surprised when it kept his waist cloth up
Mammon- He was the jewelry tester so he got a lot of piercings and waist jewelry out of wire and treasures he finds. He constantly wears your little creations and even brings you little gems and treasure he finds pretty, risking it for you to make some more jewlery
Leviathan- He gets a little bracelet made of wire, shell, and little gems which complements his Ruri Chan bracelet that he found. His face turned beat red when you gave it to him, he hasn't taken it off yet
Satan- He gets some fin jewelry made from pure wire, with just one or two little green gems mammon found for you to use. The pieces fit perfectly on his sharp fins and was probably the longest you've spent on a piece for someone. He smiled softly when you were taking the measurements, he looks beautiful yet deadly
Asmodeus- He got a little necklace made from whale bone, rope, and pearls, and cute little pink gems. You carved a little flower from the whale bone and used the pink gem for the middle of it, the pearls mixed in and intertwined with the rope. Squealed when he saw it, he loved it so much and had you help him put it on
Beelezubub- You made a little tail charm for him made out of rope and shell (giving surfer dude), little pieces of wire mixed into it to make sure the shell stays on. He smiled as he now matched with belphie with the tail charm, and it doesn't get in the way of hunting so he loves it
Belphegor- You made him a necklace made out of the same material as Beels tail charm, the shells being purple instead of a orangey brown colour. He didn't realize you put the necklace on him at first until he went out hunting with beel, smiling softly as his precious new necklace caught him easy prey
Overall, they love to see your little creations and how they decorate the little cove they call home. How glad they were that Lucifer saved you that day and brought you to the island
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love getting requests like this, its just so sweet<3 This was so fun to write about, i loved the Idea of arty MC. Sorry this fell more into wire crafts and jewelry, my friend has been showing me some really cool earrings and they became a big inspo
What should I do next?
The buddie shippers are BIG mad with the interview coming. Have you seen the tweets??
i've seen a handful that have been cross-posted here, and like i've said before, it's all just kinda sad imo, i feel sorry for anyone's whose life has become so consumed by this stuff that they're frothing at the mouth mad over two actors doing press for a network tv show.
there's a million considerations that go into when press happens and who does it. with lou i'd speculate they wanted/needed to get contracts etc. sorted for s8 before trotting him out for a bunch of press.
also whether certain ppl wanna admit it or not, bi buck (and by extension bucktommy) is the storyline that has by far and away got them the most press attention, especially outside the usual bubble of entertainment journalism, from a PR standpoint they'd be crazy to not capitalize on that.
A flower blossoms for its own joy: How will you bloom?
Tumblr media
A PAC about your blooming moment and how you will get there. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Open your eyes and choose the photo that speaks to you. 3 piles left to right. This is for entertainment purposes only, take what resonates. Feel free to check other piles if it doesn't resonate :)))
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pile 1
I'm seeing that we have some shy people here or people who put a lot of thought before saying something in the sense that they don't want to provoke someone. The message here is to be little unapologetic about certain things. You don't have to be worried about how others perceive you. "Say the weird thing!" I know this can be hard especially if you're not around the right people but the trash will take itself out if you are more open about your likes and dislikes. This is the way you will find the people that are truly meant for you, by letting go and cutting some people off. Also, I'm seeing that you need to practice gratitude and mindfulness. Keeping a journal can help. Travel to places you have always wanted to visit. The last thing that you need to do in order to "blossom" is to accept help. I get that it is nice being independent but being humans we need community. I'm not asking you to be very social and have too many friends, cuz remember the earlier point of not gaf about what other people say; yeah just do enough so that you're comfortable :) Remember that this is going to be a new chapter in your life so the key is balance. I think you can imagine your blooming moment by now. For some of you I'm seeing the presence of a significant other. This will probably be a slow burn.
Here's a moodboard for you:
Tumblr media
Songs:
Thank you for reading!
Pile 2
I'm mainly getting the vibe that you don't take care of yourself enough. Like no skincare, self care or you're not eating healthy. I'm not asking you to follow strict regimes to become flawless, I'm just saying that maybe something's missing, some deficiency perhaps (?) idk. I also get the vibe that you are tight on money or grew up in a low income household. There's a lack of self love in this pile. You feel like you don't deserve love or that you're low maintenance because of your past relationships. (That's just not true!) The remedy for all of this is investing in yourself. You don't have to go broke looking after yourself; keep a journal, write down your thoughts, write down positive affirmations, maybe change your wardrobe (clothes carry energy), have a candle light dinner with yourself, etc. I'm also seeing that you could be really good at handicraft so maybe you should start a business. You could even be a good photographer. You just need to start posting you're a true artist! If you do things that make you happy and calm you're going to get closer to your blooming moment. You're going to have a really beautiful house. Your house will be adorned with pottery, paintings, etc. I get a self-satisfied vibe :)
Here's a moodboard for you:
Tumblr media
Songs:
Thank you for reading!
Pile 3
I'm getting that this pile is very different from the last two. You probably have everything anybody could ask for or, you are working towards it. You are really close to blooming but that will need just a little more effort. You will bloom if you acknowledge your roots. You have to be very humble and thankful. Maybe you have lost track of your identity due to the grind and the struggle. Taking short breaks from time to time could be a good idea. You will bloom when you include others into your plans. Try giving gifts to friends just because. Tell them that you are glad to have them in your life. Go camping or hiking, reconnect with nature. For some of you I'm seeing an ancestor that protects you because you remind them of themselves :)) Apart from this I see that you're good at your job and leave on the dot which may have ruffled the feathers of a few people. But you don't have to worry about that. Just be your usual self. "Your coworkers can very rarely be your friends so make time for the friends that you already have." - words from your ancestor. I see you happy and smiling in your blooming moment. Shaking hands with important people, doing what you love to do :)) Your ancestors and spirit guides are smiling too <3
How to set and achieve your goals using: S.M.A.R.T goals
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does SMART stand for?
Tumblr media
S - specific. don't just set vague goals like "i wanna get fit" or "i wanna get abs". how are you gonna know when/ where to start? if you want to get fit: your goal could be "go to the gym for 30 mins everyday" or "i want to run 5k in under 30 mins". whatever works for you. some other examples: -> if your big goal is to get high marks on your next test: your "mini" goals/ steps should be to study everyday for at least 30-60mins. -> if your big goal is to get money/ become rich: your steps/ mini goals should be to save $___ daily first. and also figure out a way you can make a mini business/ get a job.
M - measurable. make sure that your goals are measurable- meaning that you should be able to track them. some examples: -> if your goal is to read more: then create or find a habit tracker or something so everyday when you read, you can mark it down for that day. ! recommended resource: James Clear's habit tracker journal- you can find it on amazon.
A - Achievable keep your goals realistic and attainable. if you know you dont have the time/ energy to read a whole book in 1 week, dont do it- otherwise you'll get easily discouraged. the goldilocks principle: don't make it too easy, where it doesn't give you a challenge, but don't make it too hard either, otherwise you'll get easily discouraged.
R - Relevant basically a WHY. why do you want/ need to accomplish this goal? have a motivation which drives you. make sure your goal is relevant to you in some sort of way. example: -> if you want to learn a language such as spanish, why do you wanna learn it? because you want to travel to Spain one day? to be able to communicate with someone? even if the purpose is as simple as "wanting to be bilingual cus it makes me feel cool and impressive" - if that motivates you, then go ahead!
T - time bound your goals need to have some sort of deadline or urgency attached to it- otherwise you could take all the time you want to start and procrastinate as much as you want. having a deadline for the goal will motivate you to take action sooner, than later.
Tumblr media
how to use SMART goals effectively:
Tumblr media
decide on the goal. (something that you actually need/ want to accomplish.)
break it down into smaller steps. (very small. so small that you can start working on whatever it is NOW.) you want to get high marks on your test? lets break it down. study 30 mins everyday -> walk to desk -> get material out -> identify what you need to study -> find your weaker topics & write it out -> create a planner or smth -> start studying. // need help? find videos online, go thru material again, find study tips, etc.
write them down. (helps you stay accountable. also people who write their goals down are 42% more likely to achieve them than people who don't write it down.)
create an action plan. (relates to the 2nd point. outline the necessary steps to take, identify resources, set milestones, plan for potential obstacles.)
monitor and evaluate progress. (regularly review your goals, mistakes, and progress. what could you do better to be more efficient and quicker? how can you learn from your mistakes?)
stay committed and flexible. (you really need to be committed to achieve the goals, you shouldn't just start off super excited, doing great in the first week then slacking off. you've made a commitment to YOURSELF. respect yourself enough to stick to it! but also be flexible with your goals. if you're reeeallyy not able to do it one day, plan to do a bit more the next day. stay focussed and don't get discouraged by setbacks.)
celebrate achievements. (recognise when you've hit a major milestone, and celebrate it! this helps you maintain motivation and a sense of accomplishment. and reward yourself!!)
Tumblr media
random additional tips:
Tumblr media
visualisation. (such a strong form of manifestation. everyday visualise yourself with your goals, feeling all the emotions and thoughts that come with it! visualisation can also really boost your motivation and drive to achieve it.)
PRIORITIES. (remember that also, all goals aren't equally important. prioritise the ones that really matter. this doesn't mean that you can't focus on the other goals, just make sure the ones that need more attention, get more attention.)
positive language. (use kind and encouraging words towards yourself. know and understand that you are that girl who can achieve ANYTHING she sets her mind to.)
seek support. (ask friends and family or a mentor for help. if you want, be careful tho, share your goals with them to help you stay accountable. and if you know a person who's achieved your goals, GET ADVICE FROM THEM! where better to get advice from than someone who's been through what you're going through?)
stay organised. (self explanatory. just stay organised. messy space = messy mind. clean space = clean mind.)
maintain balance. (of course your goals are important, but so is the age you're currently at. especially if you're a teenage, DONT WASTE THESE YEARS!! get out of the house! make friends! go to parties! LIVE LIFE TO ITS FULLEST. also make sure that you get the adequate rest needed!)
write about your journey. (write about the struggles, the obstacles, how you overcame them, insights you got on this journey, etc. trust me, it'll be so interesting and helpful to read when you're older.)
Okay, I have a Serious Request
Please consider following my Youtube and Ko-Fi. Both are free to do and will help me tremendously. Currently, I have just over 50 subscribers, but If I can reach 500 subscribers on Youtube maybe I can start monetizing a tiny bit there. My Ko-Fi is where I sell my art and stickers, following it would at least help keep the page active and may help influence some sales. Ultimately, please help me expand my reach.
Why it's more important now than ever
Earlier this week my hours were cut permenantly at work. There is a very serious threat that I will lose my job in the coming weeks or months. The powers that be have decided they need to save money and my position is realistically the one least important to daily operations.
Currently, I make just enough to keep afloat. My housing is employee housing and my student loan payments are lower because I work for the public. If I lose this job, I also lose both of those benefits and will be forced to move away. I'm already unsure how I'm going to cover bills as it is, but as a queer, trans person who is old enough they can no longer do heavy field work, I'm very nervous for my future. If all of my followers here subscribed to my youtube, I could be monetized in no time. It wouldn't be a lot, I wont lie, but income is income and it would help.
I know I cant offer much in return, but I can try to keep my livestream going as much as possible and keep making prints of my nature journals and even my photography if the interest is there. And I would be deeply grateful to anyone who would help me make ends meet while I figure life out.
Thanks for reading, please have this red-bellied woodpecker enjoying an orange for all your efforts,
TLOZ fan theory: The Yiga assassinated Princess Zelda's mom as a way to pull the odds in Calamity Ganon's favor.
I'm using the book Creating a Champion for evidence, which may not be the best, but in there it says Zelda's mother felt as though her divine power came naturally to her. And then in-game, thanks to Urbosa's and Rhoam's diary entries, we get the idea that she died much earlier than she was supposed to.
It wouldn't be surprising if she had demonstrated her power in some way, whether to squash down questioning of her lineage or to help with an actual issue that needed her powers.
Either way, I believe her doing so put a red, upside down, teary eyed target on her back...
I think Zelda's mother getting assassinated by the Yiga would be interesting. However if I recall, I think she just passed by some mysterious sickness? I'm going off by the journal/diary entries of Urbosa and Rhoam in the game. I also recall Zelda didn't react at all to her mother's death. It would've been nice if the Yiga were more present as a threat than being goons.
ALSO COMPLETLY FORGOT THAT ZELDA'S MOM ALSO HAD POWERS
Little Haven Daycare: Springbreak C1
Tim's heart fluttered with anticipation as he stuffed clothes into his worn-out suitcase. The zippers strained against the fabric, mirroring the tension he had felt during the last few months. College courses had been demanding, and the internship as a social media advisor had piled on more stress than he could handle. But now, spring break was here—a well-deserved escape from the chaos.
The sun cast a warm, golden glow through the window, highlighting the scattered textbooks and notes that had taken over his desk. He could still hear the faint echo of late-night cramming sessions for his journalism classes and the relentless ticking of deadlines. But today was different. Today, the only ticking he would listen to was the countdown to freedom.
As he folded his favorite hoodie, the smell of detergent and a hint of his cologne wafted up, comforting him. Tim had other plans than most of his college friends, who were out drinking at some frat party or chilling on a beach somewhere warm. Tim would spend his spring break attending a special daycare for littles, where he could embrace his little side—a side he normally hid from the world.
He carefully placed his stuffed animal, a worn but beloved teddy bear named Mr. Snuggles, into the suitcase. The soft, familiar fur brushed against his fingers, and he felt a wave of comfort wash over him. The daycare was a sanctuary where he didn't have to pretend, where he could let go of the pressures of adulthood and be his true self.
He zipped up his suitcase, the sound a final seal on his preparations. Stepping outside, Tim felt the cool breeze ruffle his hair. The drive to the daycare wasn't far, but it felt like a journey to another world. The streets were quieter now, the usual buzz of student life subdued as many had left for their own adventures. Tim's heart raced with a mix of excitement and nervousness, each mile bringing him closer to the haven where he could truly unwind.
Tim arrived at the daycare, an unassuming building that nobody would suspect of housing such a special place inside. He parked his car and sat there for a moment, gathering his courage. Before exiting the vehicle, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes, imagining the little word  he was about to step into. The anticipation was almost overwhelming, but he knew that this was exactly what he needed. Finally, he opened his eyes, grabbed his suitcase, and stepped out of the car, ready to embrace the sanctuary awaiting him.
Tim entered the daycare, finding a reception area that could have easily been mistaken for a doctor’s office. The walls were painted a soothing pastel color, and soft music played in the background. The receptionist, a friendly woman with a warm smile, greeted him as he approached the desk.
"Welcome, Tim! We're so glad you made it," she said, her eyes sparkling with genuine kindness. "Let's go over the details of your stay."
She pulled up his information on the computer, quickly reviewing the questionnaire Tim had filled out online. "So, you'll be with us for four days, including sleeping over each night. Your name is Timothy, and you're 22 years old."
Tim nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as she continued.
"You were very lucky to get a bedroom all to yourself. Those are hard to come by during spring break," she added, making Tim feel fortunate and relieved. "And I see that you've already paid in advance. That's great!"
She then glanced at him, a hint of playfulness in her eyes. "Now, let's go over a few more personal details, shall we?" Tim's heart pounded in his chest. He knew what was coming next.
"I see here that you've chosen to wear and exclusively use diapers for your whole stay," she said, her tone encouraging. "Good boy," she added, causing Tim to blush deeply. The praise made him feel a strange mix of pride and embarrassment.
"You've opted not to have your diaper checked regularly," she continued, her voice gentle. "But remember, at any time during your stay, if you feel comfortable, you can always opt in to diaper checks. It can make the experience more immersive." Tim nodded, grateful for her understanding and the flexibility offered.
"And lastly," she said, glancing at the screen, "you've chosen not to have a set bedtime or mealtime assistance. That's perfectly fine. We want you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible."
Tim appreciated the balance of structure and freedom. He felt a sense of relief knowing that he could control certain aspects of his stay while still embracing his little side.
"All set?" the receptionist asked, her smile reassuring.
"Yes, thank you," Tim replied, feeling a surge of gratitude.
"Wonderful! Miss Emma will be here shortly to show you to your room. Welcome to Little Haven, Tim. We hope you have a magical stay."
While they waited for Miss Emma to arrive, the receptionist placed a metal bracelet on Tim's wrist, explaining: "Here you go, Tim. This will get you into your room and any other areas you need access to.”
Tim nodded, fidgeting with the bracelet.
Finally, Miss Emma arrived, apologizing for being late. "During spring break, it's always full, and I had to help a seasonal worker who is just assisting during this busy time," she explained, her tone cheerful despite the delay.
Leading Tim through a hallway, she chatted about the daycare's activities and amenities, making him feel at ease. As they reached his room, Miss Emma gestured for Tim to open the door with his bracelet.
Inside, Tim found a bed with Bluey bedsheets, clearly sized just for him. He couldn't help but feel a bit bashful, which Miss Emma clearly enjoyed as she teased him playfully.
"Oh, look at that blush! You're just too adorable," she chuckled, causing Tim to blush even deeper.
She then explained where everything was, from the shower to the closet. The toilet has a lock similar to that of the room, and it can be activated by the bracelet, but of course, not with Tim's bracelet," Miss Emma explained with glee. Her eyes twinkled mischievously as she delivered the information, leaving Tim blushing and squirming.
"Now, Tim, it's time for you to wear a diaper before there are any puddles," she said, her tone light but commanding, making Tim's cheeks flush a deeper shade of red. He felt a mix of embarrassment and excitement wash over him.
"Can you undress yourself, sweetie?" she asked, her voice gentle but expectant.
"Y-yes, I can," Tim replied meekly, his voice barely above a whisper. He hesitated for a moment, feeling Miss Emma's expectant gaze on him, before finally starting to undress. His hands trembled slightly as he removed his shirt, exposing his lean torso, and then he awkwardly kicked off his shoes before sliding out of his jeans. He stood there in just his underwear, feeling vulnerable and exposed. "Good boy," Miss Emma praised, her voice laced with amusement. "Now, let's get you into your first diaper."
She guided him to lie down on the bed with the Bluey bedsheets, the childish pattern adding to his feeling of regression. Miss Emma pulled out a thick, pastel-colored diaper adorned with cute baby animal prints from a nearby drawer. The crinkling sound of the diaper filled the room as she unfolded it, and Tim felt a wave of nervous anticipation.
"Lift your hips for me, Tim," Miss Emma instructed, her tone sweet yet authoritative. Tim complied, lifting his hips off the bed, and she slid the diaper underneath him. The soft, cushy material felt strange against his skin, a stark contrast to his usual underwear. Miss Emma gently lowered his hips back down onto the diaper, positioning it perfectly.
"This might feel a little different at first, but you'll get used to it," she teased, her hands deftly pulling the front of the diaper up between his legs. Tim's heart raced as she smoothed out the material, her touch both clinical and nurturing.
Miss Emma secured the diaper snugly around his waist, fastening the tapes on each side with practiced precision. The diaper crinkled loudly with each movement, reminding Tim of his new reality. The thick padding forced his legs apart slightly, and he could feel the soft, absorbent material enveloping him, creating a cocoon-like sensation.
"There we go, all snug and secure," Miss Emma cooed, giving the front of the diaper a gentle pat. "How does that feel, Tim?" "It's... different," Tim admitted, his voice tinged with embarrassment. The diaper felt bulky and foreign, but there was also a strange comfort in the softness and security it provided.
"Well, you look absolutely adorable," Miss Emma teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I think you'll make a perfect little one here at Little Haven."
Aaahhhhhh more kiss fics from you!?! Yes pls!!!
Could I very kindly ask for Fox/Thorn and number 24 - a sleepy kiss pls?
(And thank you for shouting me out as well!)
Thank you for the request! Also all I could imagine during writing this is this: fox is eepy meme and was giggling. Enjoy!
Fox felt like he was floating, like back when he was a cadet and they had swim lessons and they were all taught how to lay on their backs to conserve energy while waiting for rescue. Although that floating was scary because there was a darkness under the waves that could swallow them up at any time. Wherever he was floating now was safe and warm.
"I'm glad you think so Foxy. Does this mean you're finally awake now?" A voice rumbled from under him and sounded close to his ear. It was familiar.
"Thorn?" He asked cracking his eyes open and wincing at the light in the room.
"Yeah, it's me. I told them if you woke up alone you'd go crazy and probably wreck the room before clawing your way into a vent to escape. What do you remember?" He asked and Fox snuggled closer, hiding his face from the light in Thorn's chest feeling a kiss get dropped to his forehead.
"Mmmm there was... A fight?" He tried to figure out what happened but his brain felt like an empty crisper that had been scrubbed clean. He knew there should be more mess in there and no matter how many times he opened the door nothing new was showing up.
"Yeah, Palpatine was evil, which we knew, but he was more evil than we realized. He was gonna try to do some sith ritual on you but you poked me in our bond thing and I was able to get some Jedi to come help. It was a crazy fight and I got my mind jacked for a minute but Windu managed to pull another prime and take his head off. It was satisfying to watch." He admitted and Fox grumbled.
"Don't 'member. Head ain't got no food in it. Like a crisper." He said then frowned into Thorn's chest as his partner laughed at him.
"Yeah turns out he left a lot of darkness goop in our brains. The Jedi helpfully scraped it all out but it takes some of the affected memories with them. The rest of us made video journals first but you were in a... a bad state. So they had to do you without any backlog. Give it some time, we'll get new healthier food in that brain crisper for you Foxy." He promised and Fox wanted to be grumpy about it but everything felt so bright and floaty and nice so he just grunted.
"Need mornin' kiss and some caff... 'm eepy." He whined looking up at Thorn finally through squinted eyes and it earned him another kiss, this time right between his eyes. He almost went cross eyed trying to see it.
"The fox is eepy..." Thorn nearly squeaked looking absolutely gleeful and Fox thought he might need to do something about that but he really was still exhausted and moving to elbow Thorn's kidney would mean having to move and he was so comfortable where he was.
"Thoooorrrnnn... Don't be mean. I'm tired. Can't punch you hard enough." He whined. Thorn finally kissed him on the lips like he wanted.
"Fine. You're just so adorable like this. I need to have the Jedi scrub your brain more often. Just go back to sleep Fox. I'll be here when you wake up again." He murmured and Fox hummed eyes already slipping shut again now he got what he wanted.
"Promise?" Fox asked as sleep started to steal him away again.
"Yeah, I promise." Thorn agreed and Fox felt fingers start petting through his curls and was gone.
Media Manipulation, Bias, Cooperation and its impact
Media manipulation, misinformation, and propaganda are part of conflicts world wide. Every country, government, NGO, and agency engages in these tactics in some way. There is a story to be told from a certain perspective that pushes an agenda. What we, as the consumer of such media, have to do is determine if we're being fed a biased perspective and/or outright lies that we can then parse through. The current I/P war has seen a huge influx of misinformation and propaganda from social media and traditional news sources. The former is expected as we are in the era of influencers and algorithms. However, traditional sources, such as the AP or WashingtonPost, have long been an issue when it comes to coverage of Israel and Palestine.
Matti Friedman wrote about this a decade ago in an article for the Atlantic titled What The Media Gets Wrong About Israel.
Friedman is a former journalist for the AP and throughout their piece details the biased reporting that they witnessed firsthand, the association with terrorist groups, the influence of terrorists on reporting, and the outright corrupt nature of an organization that touts itself as a bastion of good journalism. From the article:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most consumers of the Israel story don’t understand how the story is manufactured. But Hamas does. Since assuming power in Gaza in 2007, the Islamic Resistance Movement has come to understand that many reporters are committed to a narrative wherein Israelis are oppressors and Palestinians passive victims with reasonable goals, and are uninterested in contradictory information. Recognizing this, certain Hamas spokesmen have taken to confiding to Western journalists, including some I know personally, that the group is in fact a secretly pragmatic outfit with bellicose rhetoric, and journalists—eager to believe the confession, and sometimes unwilling to credit locals with the smarts necessary to deceive them—have taken it as a scoop instead of as spin.
During my time at the AP, we helped Hamas get this point across with a school of reporting that might be classified as “Surprising Signs of Moderation” (a direct precursor to the “Muslim Brotherhood Is Actually Liberal” school that enjoyed a brief vogue in Egypt). In one of my favorite stories, “More Tolerant Hamas” (December 11, 2011), reporters quoted a Hamas spokesman informing readers that the movement’s policy was that “we are not going to dictate anything to anyone,” and another Hamas leader saying the movement had “learned it needs to be more tolerant of others.” Around the same time, I was informed by the bureau’s senior editors that our Palestinian reporter in Gaza couldn’t possibly provide critical coverage of Hamas because doing so would put him in danger.
Hamas is aided in its manipulation of the media by the old reportorial belief, a kind of reflex, according to which reporters shouldn’t mention the existence of reporters. In a conflict like ours, this ends up requiring considerable exertions: So many photographers cover protests in Israel and the Palestinian territories, for example, that one of the challenges for anyone taking pictures is keeping colleagues out of the frame. That the other photographers are as important to the story as Palestinian protesters or Israeli soldiers—this does not seem to be considered.
....
When Hamas’s leaders surveyed their assets before this summer’s round of fighting, they knew that among those assets was the international press. The AP staff in Gaza City would witness a rocket launch right beside their office, endangering reporters and other civilians nearby—and the AP wouldn’t report it, not even in AP articles about Israeli claims that Hamas was launching rockets from residential areas. (This happened.) Hamas fighters would burst into the AP’s Gaza bureau and threaten the staff—and the AP wouldn’t report it. (This also happened.) Cameramen waiting outside Shifa Hospital in Gaza City would film the arrival of civilian casualties and then, at a signal from an official, turn off their cameras when wounded and dead fighters came in, helping Hamas maintain the illusion that only civilians were dying. (This too happened; the information comes from multiple sources with firsthand knowledge of these incidents.)
Colford, the AP spokesman, confirmed that armed militants entered the AP’s Gaza office in the early days of the war to complain about a photo showing the location of a rocket launch, though he said that Hamas claimed that the men “did not represent the group.” The AP “does not report many interactions with militias, armies, thugs or governments,” he wrote. “These incidents are part of the challenge of getting out the news—and not themselves news.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back in 2021 the IDF destroyed the AP's building because Hamas was using it as a base as well. The AP denied all knowledge of Hamas being in the building, except Friedman and other journalists had previously established that there was a relationship between the terrorists and news outfit. The insistence on denying Hamas's actions for fear of reprisal and to continue the "moral failure" narrative is part of AP's m.o. This standard of avoidance regarding Hamas's actions, couching them in a comparison of "Hamas is bad, but look how much worse Israel is!", justify, or even reduce the horrid nature of them has been part of the formula for years. It explains why we see so many of the major news sources tell the same story in the same manner when it comes to this area. Talking about Hamas, PIJ, and other groups and their bad actions is taboo. Another quote from earlier in the article stands out that highlights this rhetoric. "In these circles, in my experience, a distaste for Israel has come to be something between an acceptable prejudice and a prerequisite for entry. I don’t mean a critical approach to Israeli policies or to the ham-fisted government currently in charge in this country, but a belief that to some extent the Jews of Israel are a symbol of the world’s ills, particularly those connected to nationalism, militarism, colonialism, and racism—an idea quickly becoming one of the central elements of the “progressive” Western zeitgeist, spreading from the European left to American college campuses and intellectuals, including journalists."
Many of us have talked about the antisemitism that is baked into most cultures, and a Jewish journalist documented through their own experiences how that is an inherent part of a "trusted" international news source. The fact that it was/is "in vogue" to paint Israel and its actions as the "moral failing of Jews" and hold them responsible for all the "evils" of the region while handling terrorist groups with kid gloves is abhorrent. It's antisemitic and a continuation of age old conspiracies. Every decade we say this is an issue, and every decade you forget or brush it aside.
The Truth of the Matter
A Four Part Miniseries
@wonderland-girl143-blog @gregre369 @420-hun
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
Steve, Robin, Nancy, and Chrissy stood in Steve's living room watching Eddie. He was sitting cross-legged on the coffee table pouring over his spellbook, his tongue poking out.
"You know, I have perfectly good couches," Steve said, crossing his arms, and Eddie hummed without looking at him. "He's lucky he's so cute."
"Okay. . .okay, it sounds like this spell is going to be difficult, especially with all of us, and it says I need to be. . .stronger for this. Fuck, I have to be a certain level? Well, what fucking level am I?" Eddie asked. "And how do I gain experience? More spells? You know, whoever wrote this book should have had this damn thing coded. You know, write in the margins which ones are for beginners."
"Well, considering the few spells that you have done, I think you're very much still a beginner," Robin said.
"If this is too much, we can wait. . .save up money. . . Buy plane tickets," Steve said.
"Baby, we're going to see this through, and your mother's waited long enough. . .you're worth it, Steve Harrington. . .now, shut up, I'm thinking," Eddie said.
"Oh, oh! I think I remember your father mentioning something about using magical creatures like conduits," Chrissy said.
"Yeah, no, I'm not using either one of you like that. And if my father suggested it, then I'm definitely not going to do it," Eddie scoffed.
"Well, what if we want to do it?" Steve asked.
"I can do the spell myself," he replied.
"Yeah, but it doesn't mean you should," he said.
"How in the hell is this relationship supposed to work if we're both equally stubborn?" Eddie asked with a scowl.
"Well, if we're both determined enough, we'll make it work," Steve replied.
"Eddie, it sounds like we both want to do this," Chrissy said softly.
"Are you sure?" Nancy asked.
"Very," Chrissy said, and Nancy smiled. "I want to do everything that I can to help Steve find his mom or dad. Not just because we're both fae but because it's the right thing to do."
"Thanks, Chrissy," Steve said softly and then paused. "Wait, what do you mean, mom or dad? My dad's dead, remember?"
"Oh. Did I not mention?" Chrissy asked with a frown.
"Mention what?" He asked.
"Fae can have children with anyone regardless of their gender. I had two mothers," Chrissy replied. "And some fae are what they themselves call genderfluid. . .depending on what they feel like. So, this person could be your mother, father, or both. Being transgender and queer is also more commonly accepted amongst fae. It's because of their beliefs that the fae had to remain hidden in the shadows, hiding with their illusion and glamor magic. They would come out of the shadows to help lost humans, whether they be fae, humans, or Wiccans, especially if they're children and rejected by their community because of who they love."
"Wow," Steve breathed. "Okay, so you know a lot more than I do."
"Do the fae have like their own city or country I could move to?" Robin asked.
"I don't know. If they do, it's probably hidden," Chrissy said. "There wasn't much in my mother's journal."
"Okay, let's do this shit. . .let's go find this Steve’s mommy or daddy. . .even more so now. Although, I suddenly realized that I'm going to be meeting my boyfriend's parent for the first time, and I hadn't even taken him on a date yet," Eddie said.
"And I just found out that my girlfriend neglected to tell me that she could get me pregnant," Nancy said.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! It slipped my mind. . .I was going to tell you, and then this happened," Chrissy said, looking guilty. "And besides, we can only get each other pregnant if we both wanted to. . .no accidents!"
"I figured you were going to say something like that when Mike barged into the house," Nancy said, wrapping an arm around her waist. "I'm messing with you, baby."
"I can get Steve pregnant!" Eddie yelped.
"Down boy, buy me dinner first," Steve said dryly.
"Okay, let's get to Lenora Hills before I get completely distracted," Eddie said. "Nancy, focus, and then we can study fae anatomy later. . ."
"I'm so getting a better grade than you," Nancy smirked, and Chrissy giggled.
"Fuck off, Wheeler!"
Lenora Hills, California. . .
"Fuck!" Eddie screamed.
He dropped Steve and Chrissy's hands immediately as he fell to his knees. Eddie bent over and began to make retching sounds. Steve pulled his hair back just as he vomited. He wiped Eddie's face with a tissue Chrissy gave him and helped him stand up. Eddie's whole body shuddered, and Steve wrapped his arms around him to hold him up. Steve watched as the other man's eyes turned purple.
"Eddie?" Steve asked.
"Is anyone else hearing music?" Eddie asked as blood gushed from his nose. "Did I just gain another level? Hmm, maybe it's something I ate."
Eddie's fading purple eyes rolled back into his head, and he collapsed into Steve’s arms. Steve picked him and held him close.
"I don't want to be a bummer, but I think Eddie missed by a few blocks," Robin said.
"Well, it was his first time performing the spell," Steve said. "Let's go."
They finally found the house they were looking for, and when they did, they discovered that the front door had been left wide open. Someone had clearly left in a hurry. When they entered, they found it in a stay of disarray, like someone had packed quickly. It was similar to the one in Indianapolis, except the furniture had been left behind. Drawers were opened and emptied. . .papers and takeout menus were littering the floor. Someone had clearly lived here a while, but it looked as though someone had left recently. Steve hurried to lay Eddie on the couch for a moment. He cleaned his face and listened closely to make sure he was just sleeping. He was.
"Is he okay?" Nancy asked.
"Yeah, just sleeping. That spell took a lot out of him," Steve replied. "Let him sleep, and we can look around. Maybe whoever left here is going to come back."
Of course, they searched the house for hours and came up with nothing. Robin, Nancy, and Chrissy let Eddie have the bedroom in the back, considering he drained his batteries getting them all to California. He laid Eddie on the bed and sprawled out next to him. He watched the man snore loudly before flopping onto his stomach. Steve ran his hand over his back, smiling when Eddie sighed in his sleep. He laid down on the pillow, wondering if his parent had laid their head on this very pillow. Steve closed his eyes and went to sleep.
Steve was dreaming. He was sure of it. He felt smaller than usual, and he was lying in a . . . Cage? No, a crib. He was a baby, and he was looking up at his mobile made of stars. A face appeared above him. It was a younger, fresher faced Bob Newby. He had hazel eyes just like Steve.
"He's made of stars just like you," Bob said proudly.
"Freckles and moles, my love," a garble voice said.
"Stars, stars to guide his way back to us," Bob said softly.
"He's not going to be like the others, I won't allow it," the voice said.
"There's more of them than there are of us," Bob said sadly. "It's happening more and more lately."
"Bobby. . ."
Wait, was his other parent British? Steve tried to reach for them as they moved closer to the crib.
"I'm right here," Steve tried to call out. "I'm right here!"
When he woke up, Eddie was staring at him.
"Hey, you feeling any better?" Steve asked as he immediately sat up.
"A little, but I don't think I'm at full power yet," Eddie said. "I'm fucking hungry."
"Yeah, okay, we get out of here, and we can find something to eat," Steve said.
"Just a moment," Eddie yawned.
He pulled Steve closer to him and nuzzled his neck. Eddie pressed his lips there, peppering his soft skin with tiny kisses. Steve sighed for a moment and leaned into it. He rolled over onto his side to face Eddie.
"Why are you going through all this trouble? I mean, I know you care about me, but we barely started whatever this is, and you're nearly killing yourself to help me," he said.
"I don't know. . .I mean, I guess it's because of the assumptions I made about you but also because I would give anything. . .chase any lead that gives me any hope that my mama's alive and looking for me. She's not, though. She's been dead for a long time. I can't do it for myself, but I can do it for you," Eddie replied.
Steve wrapped his arm around him, pulled him closer, and kissed him deeply. He poured every ounce of affection he had for the man into that kiss. He broke away and leaned his forehead against his.
"Come on, let's see what the girls are up to," Steve said.
They wandered into the kitchen to find Nancy, Chrissy, and Robin leaning over a phone book.
"Eddie!" Chrissy exclaimed. "How are you doing?"
"Better once I get some food in me," Eddie said.
"Well, we were actually going to order something. I was thinking pizza. Laura never lets me have any," Chrissy said.
"Pizza sounds fucking awesome," Eddie exclaimed.
As they waited for the pizza to arrive, they sat in the living room to discuss their options. Eddie still needed to recharge and get some food in him before doing any sort of spells. In the meantime, they wait it out here and see if the person comes back. Steve was trying not to get his hopes up, but the closer they got to find his parent, the more hopeful he got. Robin leaned over the arm rest of the couch. Nancy, Chrissy, and Eddie were talking amongst themselves.
"You doing okay?" Robin asked.
"Trying to keep it all in, you know?" Steve said and paused. "I had a dream about my dad, about Bob. I think it was a memory. I couldn't see my other parent, but I know they were British, and Bob said I was made of stars like them. They have moles like me. . .what else did I get from them? Will I ever see them again? Do they know what happened to Bob?"
"I'm sure that you'll find your way back to each other," Robin said.
"That's what Dad said. . .that my stars would guide my way back to them," Steve said. "It was happening to so many fae children. . . They knew it was going to happen to them."
"You're going to find each other," Robin said softly.
Before Steve could say anything else, the doorbell rang. Nancy went to answer it but paused when they heard arguing coming from the other side. Steve shared a look with Nancy.
"Is that Jonathan?" Steve asked.
"I didn't even think about it," Nancy laughed quietly. "I ordered from Surfer Boy."
"Argyle! What are the odds that my ex-girlfriend is here in Lenora Hills while my current boyfriend is the one delivering her pizzas?" they heard Jonathan yell. "It is not the same Nancy Wheeler. She's still in Hawkins."
"Man, fate has a funny way of bringing people together!" Argyle laughed loudly.
Nancy covered her giggle with her hand and went to answer the door, but Chrissy stopped her. Chrissy pulled the front door open and grinned.
"Hi, I'm Nancy Wheeler," she laughed.
"Oh, shit, man, you were right," Argyle said.
"No. . .that's Chrissy Cunningham. She goes to Hawkins High," Jonathan said.
"Oh, what are the odds?" He asked, and Jonathan elbowed him in the side.
Nancy nudged Chrissy out of the way and appeared in the doorway.
"Nancy?!" Jonathan asked.
"Hey, Jonathan," Nancy said meekly.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"It's a long story," Nancy said. "And I'll tell you later, I promise."
Jonathan looked at her doubtfully and then looked at Argyle before sighing. He knew that something strange was up, but he couldn't say it in front of Argyle. He accepted their tip and dragged Argyle back to the yellow van, leaving them with their pizzas. Once they ate, Eddie took a nap, and when he awoke again, he started to work on doing the location spell again. Eddie looked down at the paper and made a disgruntled sound with his mouth.
"What?" Steve asked.
"It says Hawkins, but it doesn't give me an address. . .just a bunch of random letters and numbers. It's like someone doesn't want us to know. . .hm, maybe there's a spell preventing us from knowing," Eddie said.
"Well, people place runes on the fae children to prevent the parents from finding them. Maybe they put runes on their houses too," Chrissy said.
"Shit, maybe it's my house or rather the Harringtons," Steve scoffed.
"Well, the only thing left to do is to check it out," Eddie said. "I'll start preparing the spell to travel back to Hawkins."
"Eddie, are you sure you're well enough for that?" Steve asked.
Eddie smiled. He cupped Steve’s face and pressed a hard kiss to his lips before he leaned his forehead against his.
"I'm fine, big boy."
Once they were in Hawkins, Eddie once again vomited and collapsed. They were just outside of Steve’s house. Steve picked him up and carried him into the house. Eddie's eyes fluttered open, and he groaned as he tried to sit up.
"Eddie!" Steve exclaimed. "You should be resting."
"I don't want to miss this," Eddie said sleepily, wiping the blood from under his nose.
Before Steve could say anything else, they heard a figure coming from upstairs. Everyone downstairs tensed up, preparing for a fight. A woman entered the room. Her hair was long and carmel colored with warm golden highlights like Steve’s with moles scattered across her tan skin. She had Steve’s nose and his lips, but her eyes were a bright blue. Her flowered colored dress was as blue as her eyes.
"You're my mom," Steve gasped.
"Today, anyway," she smiled Steve’s smile.
Steve ran into her arms without even thinking. She hugged him tightly, sobbing. This felt right. . .her hug held more warmth than the hugs he received from the Harringtons, theirs being nothing more than cold detachment. His mother's hug felt like home. He could feel her now, too, in the back of his mind. There were so many emotions going through his head, and there was one question that was on his forefront of his mind. He pulled back, tears in his eyes.
"I don't even know your name," Steve said.
"Farran Kelley," she laughed, tears in her own eyes, and she tucked a strand of hair behind his ear. "Oh, you have your father's eyes."
"Yours too," Steve grinned as he felt his eyes glow green.
Farran laughed as her eyes glowed green as well.
"Your father was a fairy too, you know," she chuckled, and her smile dropped. "He should be here. . ."
"I'm sorry. . .I was there. . . I mean, I didn't watch him die, but I was in the middle of all of it," Steve frowned.
"Well, we warned the humans for years about meddling with that world. . .if I had known you were in the middle of all of it. . .I missed so much," Farran said sadly. "You're so grown."
"There's so much left to teach me. I still don't know everything there is to know about being a fairy," Steve said.
"Oh, so many wonderful things," Farran said and cupped his face. "My sweet boy. . .however, did you get that rune removed?"
"That was me!" Eddie exclaimed, waving from his spot on the couch.
Farran peered around Steve with a grin. Steve moved beside Eddie, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Mom, this is - "
"Eddie, my God, you've grown so much!" Farran said delightfully. "I haven't seen you since you were an ankle biter."
"You know me!" Eddie exclaimed.
"I was mates with your mum," Farran said.
"You were at her funeral!" He realized. "If you were friends with my mom, then why would my dad. . .I know he's an asshole. . ."
"So, you figured out that he was the one who kidnapped my son?" She asked.
"Well, I had to remove the rune that was on his back, and I had to be blood related, so. . .and kidnapping fae children is the kind of shit my dad would do," Eddie scowled.
He sat all the way up, and Farran sat down next to him.
"Your father loved your mother very much. She was the only person in the world who could make him cut all his bullshit but even though he loved her. . .he still didn't treat her very well. He left her all the time, and I was there for her when she had all those miscarriages. She had complications when she gave birth to you, and after that, it was harder to get pregnant. I did what I could being a fae healer, but not even magic has the answers to everything. It's something your father could never understand. Lizzie and I became close when she got to town. I was there when Al refused to be. That's what really drove him mad. He couldn't forgive himself for it. When I became pregnant, Lizzie became so excited. She hoped our children would be friends. A few months after we had you, Steve was taken from us. I didn't believe it at the time that Al had anything to do with, but his jealousy had been too obvious over the years. He always thought there was something between Lizzie and I, but she had become enamored with someone else. Even though Bobby and I split up, my heart always belonged to him," Farran said.
"My father's a dick," Eddie spat, and then his furious face fell. "Is there anything redeemable about my dad?"
"There's a part of me that still hopes that his love for Lizzie, for you, and Wayne will wake him up, but the rational part of me knows that will probably never happen. You know that you look like him, but I always knew that you got your heart from your mother even when you were a child," Farran said. "It's not wrong to hope that your father might do the right thing by you or the right thing, period."
"It's a small world, isn't it? You were best friends with my mother, and now I'm dating your son," Eddie laughed, and then he slapped a hand over his mouth. "I've gotten a little too comfortable."
"It's alright," Steve grinned.
"Oh! That's wonderful," Farran gasped. "Oh, Lizzie would be so happy!"
"Don't get too excited, mom. It's only been - wait, what day is it?" Steve asked and paused. "Eddie's only recently found out he's a witch, but he's the reason we found each other at all. He's exhausted himself so much to do it."
"Definitely Elizabeth's son," Farran said fondly. "Oh, sweetheart, you look exhausted. We should probably get back to my house. Steve, we should probably get you back to our house."
"We have a house?" Steve asked.
"Well, your father's family home. It's nestled out in the woods," Farran said. "You and your friends are more than welcome to come with us."
"OH! Mom, these are my friends. Well, Nancy's my ex-girlfriend, but now she's one of my best friends," Steve said, and Nancy smiled softly at him. "This is Chrissy. She's also a kidnapped fae child."
"If you don't mind, how did you know Steve’s name?" Nancy asked. "Didn't he have a different one?"
"No, Steve is the name we gave him. It was my father's. I guess the Harringtons were too lazy to change it," she replied, scowling.
"Oh! And this is my best friend in the whole world, my platonic soulmate, Robin Buckley," Steve grinned.
"Hi, Steve’s mom!" Robin exclaimed, hitting his chest. "I told you would find each other, dingus!"
Farran laughed and hugged her tightly.
"So, we're going to your house then?" Eddie asked.
"Steve, is there anything that you want to bring?" Farran asked.
"Oh, I've been wanting to leave for a while now. What I need is already packed," Steve grinned and ran up the stairs.
He came back downstairs with his hands carrying two large suitcases. He had the largest grin on his face. Farran helped Eddie up while Chrissy did the same on his other side as Farran promised Chrissy that she would teach her all about being a fae.
"How are we getting there?" Eddie asked.
"By car," Farran said. "Why? Did you think I had a carriage being pulled by unicorns?"
"Well, now I don't," Eddie scoffed, looking disappointed.
"Unicorns live in Scotland," Farran replied with a laugh. "And are a protected species."
"They're real," Eddie gasped with delight.
Steve laughed as he followed them to the front door. He walked out the front door with them, leaving the name Harrington behind. The name Newby-Kelley slid back into place. He was going home.
Months later. . .After the spring break from hell. . .
Steve stumbled through the trees, clutching his sides. Despite all the medicines Farran used on his son, the bites still hurt.
"It's just up ahead," Steve said.
"So, why did you move?" Hopper asked.
"It's my family home," Steve said.
"Figures John Harrington has more than one home in Hawkins," Hopper snorted.
"John Harrington isn't my father," he sighed. "He never was. Him and his wife hired someone to kidnap me. This is my real family home."
"Jesus," Joyce said.
"It's okay. I found my parents. I mean, my father is dead, but my other father, who is also sometimes my mother, is very much alive and is waiting for us," Steve said.
"I'm lost," Hopper said.
"No, it's just up ahead," he replied.
"That's not what I - "
It was a spacious four bedroom cottage type house in the woods with a stone pathway leading up the front door. Vines covered the house, sealing over every opening as though they were protecting it. There were vines sprouting around the house like a bubble as well. Steve approached the vines, and his eyes glowed green. The vines moved to create a doorway for them.
"What the hell?" Jonathan asked. "Hey, does this have anything to do with you guys being in Lenora a few months ago?"
"You were in Lenora?" Joyce asked.
"We were tracking down my father," Steve said. "We had to come back to Hawkins, though, because he had been tracking me too and tracked my last location to the Harringtons. He was my mother then."
"I'm lost again," Hopper said.
"Man, we're here," Steve said. "How are you getting lost? You're right behind me."
Hopper sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Joyce laughed and patted his arm.
"I think he doesn't understand about your parent being both your mother and your father," Joyce said.
"Oh! Some faes can change their gender if they wish. Today, Farran Kelley is a man," Steve said. "He's been my father the last few weeks."
"Faes. . .as in fairies?" Will asked.
"Oh, yeah, I'm not human," Steve grinned. "Let's get inside, and we can talk about this."
They went inside the brick house where they were led into an open space living room and kitchen. On the other end of the house was a fireplace where a cool, blue fire crackled. The walls were lined with shelves, and the shelves were stuffed with books. Pictures hung on the walls very neatly. Sitting on the couch in front of the fire was Nancy. Robin and Vickie sat on either side of her, rubbing her back as she cried. Steve felt his chest tighten painfully. Mike pushed his way through the group and ran towards his sister. Farran came down the stairs with Dustin. It always startled Steve to see how much Farran looked like him as a man. It was a good thing, though.
"Holy shit, is that a picture of Bob?" Jonathan said as he glanced at a picture on the wall.
"It is," Joyce said. "Why do you have a picture of Bob?"
"He was my husband," Farran said. "And this was his family home."
"Bob never said he was married," Joyce said, frowning.
"Divorced. We split after Steve was taken from us," Farran said.
"Steve is Bob's son?!" Will asked.
"He never said. . . ," Joyce trailed off. "Actually, he said he didn't have kids he was aware of."
"Steve was kidnapped and hidden from us by wiccan magic. We searched for years, and then Bob stayed here, waiting for him to come home, never knowing he was right in front of us," Farran said softly.
"He does have Bob's eyes," she said as she smiled at the both of them.
"I'm glad Bobby had love in his life before he died," Farran said, patting her hand.
"Okay, tell us everything from the beginning," Hopper sighed.
Farran shared a look with his son before launching into the story.
". . . And we did everything we could, but Vecna overpowered us," Farran said.
"Eddie. . .," Steve choked. "He and Chrissy. . .they died."
Suddenly, everything was hurting. Eddie wouldn't be here anymore. Steve wouldn't wake up next to him. . .no more dinners with Farran, Wayne, and Eddie. It would he a somber affair now with a piece of their family missing. No Chrissy coming in with Nancy to join them. No more double dating with Nancy and Chrissy. No double wedding under fae law. They were supposed to travel to Saoradh, the hidden land of the fae, this summer. Not to get married yet (that was far off) but to view the beautiful land and all it had to offer. Chrissy and Steve were supposed to learn more about their magic, their ancestors. Now, Chrissy was gone, and so was Eddie. Eddie.
"I'm so sorry," Joyce said softly.
Steve glanced at Nancy, who was hugging Jonathan tightly. Argyle stood somberly off to the side. Nancy pulled away and shared a glance with Steve. They moved towards each other. Nancy threw her arm around Steve, still crying. Steve sniffled and wrapped his arms around Nancy. What was going to happen now?
"I am here now," El said. "And I am stronger than ever. I believe together we can destroy Henry."
Meanwhile, in the Upside Down. . .
A figure jumped down into the gate from the Munsons' trailer. The hooded figure moved outside and glanced at the red sky filled with lightning. He pulled the hood down. Al Munson moved through the Upside Down, not stopping until he came to his son's body. He fell to his knees and placed his hands on Eddie's cold forehead.
"I've fucked up, son. I've done everything wrong, and I let my anger get the best of me. I wasn't there for your mom, not the way I should have, and I spent so much time blaming other people. You shouldn't have had to pay for my mistakes. There's one thing that I did right, and that was bringing you into this world with your mom. There's one other thing that I could do, and that's bringing you back. . . I still have time. It's going to take everything that I've got," Al said. "I love you."
Al cut up his son's shirt and began painting runes on his chest. Al took off his shirt before painting the same rune on his chest. He opened his spellbook and began chanting. Al felt his lifeforce begin to flow out of him, purple light floating from his chest. With the spell, Al told it where to go. The light began to pour into Eddie's rune. The last bit of light escaped Al's body and went into his son's. He collapsed on the ground, and as he took his last breath, Eddie gasped for his. Eddie awoke, clutching his chest. Shit, didn't the bats eat him alive? There were no wounds. . .only purple scars. Eddie turned his head to find his father's lifeless eyes staring back at him.
"Dad?" Eddie asked and knelt over him. "Dad?!"
Eddie sobbed. He already knew what Al did for him. . .but why? Why?! Eddie hated him for so many reasons, but now he was grateful to him. It was twice now that this man gave him life. Eddie sat up and took his dad's hand only to discover there was a note in his palm.
"I know sorry isn't going to be enough for how much I fucked up. I let you down so many times. Let Lizzie down. If you've discovered what I've done. . .no apology is ever going to be good enough to make up for what I did to those kids. On this paper, there is a list of names. Kids I sold, witches who have also sold kids. . Do with it what you will. You're already a better man than I am. . .I love you, kid. I know wherever your mom is. She's proud of you. Your story isn't over yet."
A couple of hours later. . .
Everyone stood their ground in the woods. Steve was fighting off the demogorgons and the demobats. His father was fighting beside him. Red lightning flashed over head. Steve held his nailbat, his eyes glowing green as emerald flames erupted around his bat. He swung the bat and hit a demogorgon. It whimpered as it hit the tree and exploded into green flames. More demogorgons came out from the trees, ready to pounce. The party was surrounded. The demogorgons launched themselves into the air.
"ENOUGH!" Henry's voice rang out.
They all heard him but they couldn't see him. The demogorgons paused, standing before them and waiting for their next orders. Steve scanned the treelines for any sign of the bastard. Silence fell as the party gathered together in a circle, back to back. Dustin was one side of him while Farran was on the other. Suddenly, they heard footsteps move closer, the snapping of branches echoing throughout the forest. She appeared, her eyes red and her smile menacing.
"Chrissy," Nancy gasped.
Fred followed after her, then came Patrick, and finally, Max.
"Max," Lucas gasped and moved to get to her, but Nancy grabbed his arm.
"Let me introduce you to my wonderful puppets. . .why would I kill them when I can use them for their power? Oh, I would have gotten to you too, Steve. . .if it hadn't been for Eddie. . .I had to do away with him - "
Suddenly, Henry was cut off by the sound of music. . .specifically the strumming of a guitar. Purple smoke, flashing with light, started to spill through the trees.
"What the fuck?" Will asked.
The purple smoke surrounded Chrissy, Fred, Patrick, and Max. Amongst the smoke, their eyes turned a bright, furious green. The smoke swirled around the bats and the demogorgons as well.
"NO! NO! NO!" Henry screamed as he appeared through the smoke. "WHAT IS THIS?!"
A shadowy figure appeared and started moving towards them. The music got louder and louder until a person appeared carrying a guitar covered in runes. Steve grinned at the familiar guitar and at the ring covered hands playing them. He recognized those hands. He came out of the smoke like a god, his eyes a furious purple and his grin feral. He was shirtless and covered in runes.
"Eddie," Steve gasped.
Eddie grinned and began to sing his spells. He was an angel and devil. Both menacing and beautiful. Steve was ready to get down on his knees for Eddie right then and there. The demogorgons and the demobats turned on Henry. Chrissy, Fred, Patrick, and Max all turned on him as well.
"NO! YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO BE MINE!" Henry screamed.
"We belong to no one," Chrissy said.
Her hands lit up with green flames. She Fred's then Fred took Patrick's, and then Patrick took Max's. All their hands glowed with a bright green flame, and they shot out at Henry. The green flames encircled him, and he screamed as they began licking at him, burning his flesh. The demogorgons growled and dove into the flames along with the demobats. They all began tearing at his flesh, not caring that they were dying in the process. They all watched the flames until everything died out. Henry Creel was dead. The purple smoke was gone now, and the skies had cleared. Lucas rushed to Max immediately, hugging her tightly. Max crashed her lips to his. Nancy ran to Chrissy and immediately jumped into her arms, wrapping her legs around her waist. She kissed Chrissy deeply, shaking with sobs. Chrissy gripped Nancy's thigh and pressed her up against a tree to steady her. Steve stood and stared at Eddie in shock. The runes disappeared from him and his guitar. Eddie gave his guitar to Dustin.
"I'm real, big boy," Eddie said softly.
Steve let out a sob, and Eddie pulled him close. He dipped Steve and kissed him. Unable to keep their balance, Steve and Eddie stumbled to the ground.
"Well, hell, is anyone going to kiss us?" Patrick asked.
"We could kiss each other," Fred joked.
Patrick stared at him, and the smile slipped off of Fred's face. Patrick grinned as he looked him up and down.
"Yeah, okay, you're cute," Patrick said.
"What?! I mean. . .yeah!"
FIVE YEARS LATER. . .Saoradh. . .
Steve couldn't believe he was here, standing in his homeland with Chrissy, Eddie, and Nancy. Robin brought Vickie as well. All of their family and friends were there, including all of the fae children they had saved over the years. It had taken Eddie, Steve, Chrissy, and Nancy traveling in a cramped RV all over the country to find them all. Eddie hadn't been able to use his magic all the time. He was still amazed every time they came here. Steve gazed at the purple and pink sky, sighing happily. This is it.
"You nervous?" Robin's voice asked.
"Not at all," Steve grinned.
"He's totally nervous," Dustin said.
He pulled his head from the window and back into the small wooden building. He turned towards Robin and Dustin, glaring playfully.
"I'm ready for this," Steve said and tucked his hair behind his ears.
He clipped the fairy wings to his ears and checked his makeup in the mirror one last time. It had been centuries since the fae had lost their wings, but they still made sure to remember they once had them. Steve adjusted his yellow suit. It had been tough choosing between the suit and the fairy wedding robes, especially since the robe had lovely flowing sleeves. Steve chose the suit because his ass looked great in the pants, and he loved to see Eddie drool. Steve was more than willing to wear the jewelry, and if he knew Eddie, which he did, he had chosen the long flowing robes. Farran popped her head in, wearing fairy robes with glittering and moving flowers. Her carmel hair was piled on top of her head, with strands of hair framing her face.
"Oh, you look so beautiful, my love," Farran gasped.
"Thanks, Mama," Steve grinned. "You look beautiful too."
"Oh, I can't believe this is happening. Bobby and Lizzie should be here to see this," Farran said tearfully.
"In a way, I think they are," Steve grinned. "I feel them."
Farran patted his cheek and pulled him down to kiss his forehead.
"Are you ready?" She asked.
"Yeah."
Farran took his arm and led him outside. Dustin ran ahead to stand beside Eddie as his best man. Robin took Steve’s other arm.
"Hey, you're supposed to be my best man," Steve said in amusement.
"I've decided to give you away as well," Robin said. "I feel like it's my right as your platonic soulmate."
Farran and Steve laughed. Farran and Robin led Steve towards a cluster of trees. The tree branches moved aside, opening up to a large clearing where a lot of people were gathered. Eddie was up there already, Wayne crying and trying to get him to settle down. He adjusted Eddie's red, long flowing robes before stepping aside. Dustin was grinning with tears in his eyes. There was a large space next to them where Fred was standing up as Nancy's best man, and Patrick was standing up as Chrissy's. The music had already started. Nancy appeared first in her pastel blue suit, and her wild curls set loose. Ted and Karen stood on either side of her, crying. Steve watched as they led her down the aisle, and he laughed when Eddie high fived her before she got in place.
Next came Chrissy in her pink pastel suit, and her strawberry blonde hair loose around her shoulders. Argyle was happily giving her away, laughing when Eddie high fived her too. Finally, Steve was next. Farran and Robin guided him down the aisle where Eddie was waiting for him. With tears in his eyes, Steve couldn't help but think about how all of this started. Eddie had been in robes then, too, clueless about the unknown. He had guided Steve home, led him to discovering the truth about himself, and in the process, they had done so much good. It doesn't matter where you were, really, the people who were the most important to you, they were what made a house a home. As Steve walked towards Eddie, he had the same feelings as he did the day he met Nancy, the day Dustin came into his life, the same emotions swirling around him when he became friends with Robin and it was like when he hugged his mom for the first time since he was a baby. The truth of the matter. . .is that coming home happens more than once, and Steve was lucky to get so many.
read your diary, smau: it's 2021 and everyone thinks that lester and daniel are dating. lesson learned: never underestimate a fan's investigation skills. (g)
mamma mia (again), smau: a youtube playlist was created to compile clips of danny talking way too much about his beloved girlfriend (f)
rush series: mrs. ricciardo special
part of you, smau: mrs. lester ricciardo asks her followers what to get her husband for his 35th birthday. little did danny know, she’s already got one ready to surprise him (f, g)
when emma falls in love, smau: as her pregnancy progressed, lester ricciardo made sure that her sanity wouldn't go the other way as she posted a thread of journal entries talking about her pregnancy. (f, h)
slipping through my fingers, smau: beau ricciardo was his dad's carbon copy and his mom's little heartbreaker.
here comes the sun, smau: despite having a red bull driver dad, beau ricciardo - or "little par" - is converted to tifosi, thank god for his full-italian mother. OR lester ricciardo's one year old son and his chaotic dad attended a måneskin concert when the bassist returned to the stage after almost two years of absence. (f, h)
