#liminal jack and maddie

Text
I've heard of liminal jazz, tucker, sam etc, but what about maddie and jack?
What if they develop some ghostly traits?
The horror, the angst of slowly becoming what you fear/hate the most, questioning the line between human and monster, watching your partner and children getting contaminated with the green, wondering if they are still your family before realizing it's happening to yourself as well.
The realization that your own doing may have doomed the whole city and everyone you love with it and then desperatly trying to find a cure only to discover, that in the end, you are just an amateur who has no idea how anything you were researching, everything you thought yourself to be an expert in, actually works because it's so much bigger than you.
For fucks sake there is a whole in reality leaking green in the basement.
There is a government organization out there to hunt you down based on your own claims

Fenton parents make an invention to reverse a ghost's evil impulses!" It actually brings a ghost's instincts forward. The effects last about two weeks.
The Fentons are in Gotham when they get the chance to use it on Phantom.
Good news: it happens near the Bats, so he's quickly rescued.
Bad news: baby ghost instinct wants parents and turned human to get reassurance. That did not happen and now Red Hood has a crying, keening teenager shaped leech.

Danny, as a developing Ancient of Space (who isn't quite there yet), has a ghost form for that. It's a leviathan.
The problem is, that form is still developing.
Which means random quirks that tie to that form appearing.
Mouth-full of fangs sometimes, bioluminescence, claws, the stuff he'd thought was just normal ghost stuff.
So the absolute dead tired expressions that his friend's family is leveling at him when he comes down to breakfast is a surprise.
"What's...wrong?"
"Daniel, why did you not inform me of your meta gene? And that you snore?"
"Okay first off I don't snore, second-"
Damian interrupts him by slapping down a recorder and playing the loudest, most horrifying noises Danny's ever heard.
Danny stares at it.
Damian glares at him.
"You definitely snore."

DP x DC Prompt #2 - Fenton Cafe
Inspired by that one underground bar post @stealingyourbones
The Fentons move to Gotham to support Jazz at her new college and open up a small cafe on the first floor of their blimp house to earn money.
Now the Fentons moved to a sketchy part of Gotham cause that’s the only place they could land safely. It doesn’t take long for rogues to slither in looking for easy cash.
And promptly get blasted by the Fenton anti-ghost Defense System. They wake up to Maddie and Jack tending to their wounds and shoving a tin of fudge into their hands, respectively. The goon/rogue gets booted by Danny after being forced to listen to his parent’s ghost rant for several hours.
Weirdly, it doesn’t take long before the cafe becomes a safe haven for rogues and goons alike to relax. But then the bats arrive to get a handle on the new ‘villain hideout.’
The Fenton’s don’t discriminate. The bats get the same treatment as the rogues all the way down to the complimentary fudge. No one comes into their house with that kind of attitude.
It’s a Violence-free unless you’re a Fenton zone.
But It’s a real party when Danny’s rogues start showing up.

Prompt 250
So blame it on me making food-themed dragons, and failing to draw a full-body of the Ennead in the Class Pulls a Tiamat Aus. So Why not combine them- along with a hint of Ghosts are Dragons.
See, most, if not every, person in Amity Park, and even it’s surrounding areas, know better than to use the W word. It is borderline taboo to use the ‘wish’ word. But somebody got drunk, said a thing they shouldn’t have, and now there’s a bit of an issue.
Which honestly, they could have dealt with! Easily even! If not for the fact that erm, realms beings can get summoned. Meaning Desiree is well, gone. Gone long enough for the twenty-four hour mark to pass. And they can’t exactly punish a ghost for doing what’s in their nature and part of their very Core.
So.
It seems everyone is food themed now. Every ghost and liminal- though at least Amity was already weird and pretty hidden from the Outside nowadays- and even a few undead.
Honestly, Fright Knight should not look so terrifying with his new coloration and criss-cross patterns across his back. But well, he pulls it off, burnt-looking limbs and all. (Seriously, his flames look more like whip-cream now and he’s still somehow pulling it off- Dash wants to know his secret!
At least the nine of them haven’t gotten it too bad, probably. And Lunch Lady is pleased, so there’s that, but still. Jazz looks like a dragon sushi roll for Realm’s sake, and- okay that’s kind of funny. Vlad you can’t hide your new fruit-based appearance!
Hah!
Oh Realms there’ll need to be so much paperwork for th- Oh thank fuck someone is summoning them now. Alright, showtime! Time to be Heir of the Infinite, big scary nine headed dragon! Ignore the food-theme-ish guys!

Have you… you know… died?
part 3 of MM ao3
Jason wakes up slowly. God, his whole body feels sore and achy. He shifts, then freezes.
He was in an alley. He’d just been shot by some idioceta. He’d been bleeding out and unable to contact the cave. He struggled to remember what had happened.
Tim had been there, hadn't he? But he didn’t think he was at the cave. And he wasn’t in enough pain to account for a near fatal bullet wound. In fact, apart from feeling achy he felt fine. But he knew he had been shot. How long had it been?
He froze. He remembered glowing green. No. He was fine. He wasn’t with the League.
He could hear the sounds of traffic and what sounded like a whispered argument and he was still in uniform.
At least he still had his helmet on. Which actually didn’t help much since the display was busted and he could barely make out a water stained ceiling above him.
He tried to focus on the sound of voices, but they were muffled, probably in a different room.
He sits up slowly, turning his head to take in as much of the room as he can through the fritzing display. It looks like he’s in a living room. He’s laying on a couch with a small coffee table between it and an old T.V. that's sitting on a crate. Off to the side is a kitchen. The voices are probably coming from a bedroom, he still can’t make out what they’re saying apart from a few words that don’t tell him anything.
He stands, moving quietly towards the window. Whatever the situation is, it will be better if he can get out of here before they notice he’s awake.
The voices fall silent and Jason quickly unlocks the window. There are footsteps behind him and he hurries to pull the window open.
“Red Hood.”
Jaso pauses and turns back, tensing and preparing to defend himself.
He stills. In front of him looms a gorgeous redhead, she’s tall, probably about his height, and she has brilliant teal eyes. Behind her stands… a boy who looks remarkably like Tim. The eyes are a slightly different shade of blue and his hair is longer and unruly.
“If you’ll wait just a moment, Hood, my brother,” she glares at they boy who looks sheepish, “can explain what’s happening.”
Jason considered. It would be nice to know what happened. Why he isn’t dead. And what that green stuff was. And neither of them look like they could take him down.
He turns full towards them and crosses his arms, “Explain.”
The girl relaxes and smiles at him. “Thank you. I’m Jazz, and this is Danny.”
“Hi.”
Jason waits. Jazz nudges her brother who steps forward and rubs the back of his neck not looking at Jason.
“I found you outside and unconscious. I brought you here, so you wouldn’t get murdered by some random goon or something.”
Jason stares. “You,” he points. “carried me?” There’s no way this scrawny kid carried him.
“Umm…”
Jazz nudges Danny again and he shoots her a glare.
“What did you do?” Jason asks.
“What?” Danny frowns.
Jason motions to the tear in his suit, the bloodstain. “What did you do? I clearly remember getting shot.”
“Well, you see…” Danny trails off.
Jazz sighs. “Danny was able to heal you.”
“You a meta?” Jason asks. He feels relieved. If the kid’s a meta that means there was no Lazarus pit involved.
“Not exactly.” Danny says slowly, not looking at Jason. Jason waits. After a moment Danny continues. “Have you at some point, died or been really close to death or glowing green goo?”
Jason tenses up. He grits his teeth and he can feel his eyes start to glow. He steps forward menacingly, reaching for a gun that he only now realizes is on the coffee table and not in his holster. He shoves the fear down and growls, “What do you know about the Pits?”
*idioceta (ee-dýoh-keh-tah)- a word I made up combining the spanish words idiota and biblioteca. Means a library full of stupidity or a library worth of stupidity.

Chapter 7 is (finally, sorry!) here!! :D
-
It was probably for the best that Danny didn’t let himself think too much about that, though. The line he’d cross to keep his sister and friends safe. Who he’d very willingly become if it meant protecting the people he loved.
It wouldn’t come to that. He’d push Cobblepot enough that the mask would slip, Jazz would see what was really going on, and Danny would tell her I told you so for years to come after she was done being overbearing and bossy as she led him along through one of her many backup plans. They ’d go back to Amity Park. Or… Danny would at least. Maybe he might really be able to work up to using his Command power on Jazz for real. Make her go and live the life she deserved rather than keep trying to run around after him.
First though, Danny was going to do what he did best:
Make the Fruitloop in his life absolutely fucking miserable.

Here's a super rough draft of some angst.
It's more of an outline than a ficlet. I just needed to get it out of my head because it won't let me sleep. Kek
Clone Danny Au.
Danny is a clone of Jazz.
Jazz and Jason get a frantic phone call from Danny. Jazz can hear the fear in his voice, she rushes to Amity Park with Jason.
Jack and Maddie had discovered his ghost half. Instead of strapping him down to a table, they do something equally as worse, they disown him and kick him out of Fenton Works.
"Jazz are you sure my birth certificate is in here, all I see is old paperwork. Danny said to his sister sitting next to him on the floor of his former parent's closet.
"I'm sure it's in here. Ah, look here it is." Jazz says. Picking up an envelope with Danny's name on it. She opens it and pulls out an old file. "Huh, I wonder what this is." She opens it and starts reading the contents of the file. Her eyes go wide and her mouth hangs open. "Oh my God! What the fuck is this!" Jazz suddenly yells in shock.
"What! Jazz what is it? Jazz? JAZZ!" Danny says out loud.
Jazz is too shocked to reply to him. She just hands him the file with a hand covering her mouth. Danny takes it and reads the file. He re-reads it again and again still not believing what is written down on the old computer printout.
"This can't be real? It can't be, how, why, why would they do something like this?" Danny asks not believing what he had just read.
Jazz numbly replies that she found his birth certificate handing it to him and taking back the file. She gets up off the floor and starts to head out of the room and down the stairs to the living room where Jack and Maddie are waiting.
"Hey Jazz wait what are you doing? Jazz!" Danny nervously asks her. She ignores him continuing her way to the living room with fury in her steps.
Maddie eyes the familiar-looking file in Jazz's hand. "Jack I thought you got rid of that." She harshly asked her husband. Jack doesn't bother to respond to her.
Jazz comes to a stop in front of them, with her standing protectively in front of Danny
"What the fuck is this?" Jazz asks holding up the file for the two of them to see. "This says that you cloned me? That Danny your son my little brother, is my clone?"
"That thing hiding behind you is not my son!" Maddie answers Jazz with venom in her voice.
Jazz felt her core flair up with rage to protect Danny, to protect her little brother, her everything, her baby, and now her son.
"You know what Danny was never your son!" "You and Jack were never his parents." "All you two ever cared about was that stupid fucking portal!" Jazz yelled back with equal amounts of venom in her voice.
"I always felt more of a mother to Danny than a sister! and now I know why! Because I practically am! He's practically my son!
I raised him! I clothed and fed him!" I was the one to take him to his first day of school and all of the million other things that you two never did!" Jazz huffed out in rage.
Danny was holding on to the back of Jazz's sweater to keep himself from turning invisible from all the fear, rage, and anger he could feel in the air.
Jazz can feel her fangs and claws coming out, and the tips of her ears starting to get pointy. She can taste the fear rolling off of Danny in waves. She's struggling to not transform into her ghost half and end the threat in front of them.
"Your son" Maddie laughs "if you want that thing as your son then we have no children."
Jazz lets out a growl. "Fine" She hisses. "We're leaving."
Jazz pulls Danny to the front door where his belongings are packed up. They gather the bags and open the door to Jason with his hand on the holster in his jacket. His eyes flashed a Lazarus pit green from having heard the conversation inside. He snaps out of it seeing Jazz and Danny. He turns around and goes to open the trunk of the rental car.
After putting the bags in the trunk Jazz and Danny climb into the back seat with Jason taking the driver seat. They drive off leaving Amity Park behind them.
Jazz pulls Danny into a tight hug growling and whispering assurances that he is safe and protected into his hair. Finally feeling safe Danny lets himself break down. Sobbing into Jazz's chest that he didn't mean to break up their family and ruin her and Jason's vacation.
"Danny, Danny sweetheart you didn’t ruin anything. None of this is your fault. Not one thing. Shhhh. Shhhh everything will be okay do you hear me, baby? Shhhhh." Jazz says letting out loud purrs from her core.
Danny lets out pained whimpers and Jason can feel his heartbreak at the sound.
After a few hours of driving and Danny falling asleep with his head in Jazz's lap, they pull over to decompress.
"So do you want to talk about what happened back there?" Jason asks Jazz looking at her in the rearview mirror.
Jazz lets out a tired sigh. "Jack and Maddie cloned me, Jason. "My Little brother is my clone and I don't know what to think or what to do about it right now." Jazz answered him while carding her hand through Danny's hair. She was on the edge of exhaustion.
"You should get some rest Jazz, we'll figure this out when we get back to Gotham. Jason replied. Jazz yawns and closes her eyes and falls asleep.
Click here to see more of my sleep deprived ramblings! :D

do you guys ever think about how Maddie and Jack Fenton are probably the only people in Amity park who won’t become any form of liminal since they’re constantly wearing their science gear?
how long will it take for them to realize their neighbours, friends, and two kids are slowly showing more and more signs of ghostliness? when will they finally crack?

So I've seen a lot of posts commenting that Jack and Maddie had terrible lab safety, OSHA would cry, etc.
And I've seen comments about how Danny and Jazz are probably contaminated, Jazz is definitely liminal, and Danny would have been too, even if he didn't have the portal accident.
And further, the lab suit Danny put on did minimal to protect him from being ectocontaminated.
So, like, what does that mean for the suits Maddie and Jack wear? Do they have better quality suits than what they left for their kids? Does it even prevent radiation/ectoplasm/whatever, or is it just the equivalent of a full body lab coat, so it will stop things from touching their skin, but not much else?
Which brings up two questions:
1. How badly are they contaminating everything they come in contact with? Like how often do they clean off their suits?
2. How much contamination actually gets to them? Like if Jazz is a liminal because of her exposure from her parents, that has to mean that the Fenton parents are also somewhere on the liminal spectrum.

To Fail and to Succeed
AO3
Graphic depictions of death, descriptions of the sounds and smell of someone dying via electricity, don't read if u can't handle it. Take care of urself.
~~~~~~
Bruce was about to start falling asleep standing up, he could tell.
This couple had just talked nonstop for five hours about something that didn’t exist.
But he needed to act like Brucie, and Brucie needed to cement the fact that he was a frivolous idiot who would back other idiots like these ones.
His mind ached for something substantial to do, and the comm in his ear had long since fallen silent. He could tell that Dick was still there, at least; the snoring gave it away.
His other children had long since gotten bored and, after two hours of impressions and making fun of the Drs Fenton, had wandered off.
“-And that’s why our Portal is a guaranteed way to explore other dimensions!” Maddie cut into his thoughts, startling him to the extent that he had to put conscious effort not to tense up and dodge away from her proximity.
“You also get to skip that annoying airfare!” Jack worthlessly concluded, slapping Bruce on the back.
“Mom, Dad; you’re both on the no-fly list, remember?” Their daughter, Jasmine, the only blessedly normal one, reminded them on her way out the door. Bruce felt the involuntary sigh of relief leave him; they would not be able to legally fly to Gotham.
Thank god for small mercies.
“Oh Jazzie-pants, like that would stop us!”
Did Maddie Fenton just confess to a crime? Did that mean he could report them?
Could Bruce…go home?
“Easy B, just put up with it until after dinner and you get to come back to your usual broody cave. I’ll even ask Alfred to make you cookies.
Damn. Dick had woken up.
Bruce grimaced and moved so his hidden camera was fully taking in the lab. One last shot before excusing himself.
“Well, this has been a very interesting-”
“Anyways the portal is ready to go now!”
And with very little fanfare, Jack Fenton slammed the power switch down and stood directly in front of the supposed interdimensional portal. Ghost Zone portal. Whatever, anyone who knew anything about dimensions knew what that thing really was.
Bruce tensed and prepared to yank the fool to safety, but…nothing.
Nothing happened.
Bruce could have cried with relief.
These two were far too scatterbrained to put their literal doctorates to use.
He instead opted for putting a hand over his still-rapidly beating heart and letting out a very small, very unnoticeable wheeze.
He’d already been lost to time once, if he had to do it again because of these two mad scientists-because that is definitely what they were and they were going on a watch list after this-he would have…
He…
Well, Bruce wasn’t sure what he would have done.
Waited for his kids or friends to get him out again and then personally apprehend the Fentons, probably.
Jack looked like he was about to cry.
Scratch that, the man was actively tearing up.
Maddie rushed over to comfort him and Bruce used their distraction to get a better look at the portal without all the background noise.
It was…surprisingly well built. There was no cable management, no safety features, and its very purpose was unhinged. Otherwise, a fairly solid build.
The Drs Fenton would definitely be on the watch list for potential villains.
All Bruce needed was for Tim to tell him how best to make sure this monstrosity never worked, but his chronically sleep-deprived son had just fallen asleep, so that would have to be put on hold.
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Wayne, but it looks like the Ghost Zone is going to have to wait,” Maddie sighed, looking just as heartbroken over it as her husband, “In the meantime, why don’t we go get some burgers. Cheer ourselves up.”
Bruce nodded along, playing up the sympathetic look and herding the couple upstairs towards the front door.
Halfway to the strange amalgamation they called their car, he stopped.
His Dad Sense, as Jason called it, was going off.
Jack and Maddie were in front of him.
Jasmine was walking down the street to do…something. Possibly library, if he remembered the layout of the city correctly.
Their son, Daniel was…
Quiet.
For all he had been bugging them to see the Portal come online, he had gone upstairs with his friends and they hadn’t heard a peep since.
Now that Bruce was thinking about it, he hadn’t even heard any footsteps running around up there.
That was Not Good.
The only time teenagers were that quiet was if they weren’t in the house to begin with, or if they were planning something they weren’t allowed to do.
Bruce would know.
He’d semi-raised enough teenagers to know.
Daniel and his friends were about to do something Stupid.
And looking at the boy’s parents, they would probably cheer him on.
“Hey, how about I meet you guys at the restaurant,” Brucie said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck and laughing, “I just realized I should pick up some documents from the hotel! I’ll grab those and then we can get that funding underway, hey? Your inventions really are out of this world!”
“Of course, Brucie, you take your time!” Jack vigorously shook his hand, almost yanking Bruce’s entire body off the ground.
Was the man a meta?
“We’ll meet you at Nasty Burger!” Maddie called, revving the engine of that…thing.
Bruce stayed out long enough to wave at them as they drove away and ran over multiple streetlights-why did they have drivers licenses-before diving for the front door and rushing in as quickly as he could.
Through the living room, down to the left, onto the basement stairs and-
-no.
Why were teenagers like this!?
“B?”
Daniel Fenton was dressed in only a hazmat suit, one designed for chemical exposure and not anything else, and was walking into the highly electrified metal arch.
“B, get him out of there!”
Bruce was already leaping over the railing, landing on a table and scattering the glassware. Daniel’s friends, Samantha and Tucker, bolted away from him, taking the phone they had been using to record their stupid stunt with them.
He ignored them.
“Daniel James Fenton!” The boy’s name was ripped from his mouth, voice in full Batman mode, before he even had time to think.
Daniel jumped.
Daniel turned around too quickly for his own two feet.
Daniel tripped.
Daniel fell.
Daniel reached out to stabilize himself.
Bruce was two steps away.
Then the world went Green.
Bruce couldn’t hear what Dick was saying as his body soared through the air and landed hard against the opposite wall.
What he could hear was the unending screams of a child being electrified to death.
He shakily pushed himself up, ignoring the pain from the probable concussion, and forced himself to stand.
The air was thick with smoke, and Bruce gagged when the smell hit him.
Pork roast.
Burning plastic.
The sickly-sweet scent of rot.
“-uce! Bruce! Are you okay?! I’m sending-”
Bruce was not okay.
Bruce could not string together a plan, and Daniel was still screaming.
If Daniel could still scream, then it meant that Daniel was still alive.
Bruce didn’t think, for once.
He charged forward, stuck his hands into the Lazarus Green portal, grabbed what he assumed was Daniel, and pulled.
First through the portal were the arms he was clutching, followed by a head of glowing white hair, and, finally, the rest of the boy.
It was Daniel, Bruce was sure. Same body build, same face, just different colors.
It would be fine.
Barry had survived his lab accident, Daniel would too.
He had to keep telling himself it would be fine, or his brain would shove him back to Ethiopia; with the same smells and the same smoke and a different dead child.
~~~~~~
Danny felt himself being yanked out of the pain, through the green, and laid on the floor of his parent’s lab.
He took his time, shivering and twitching as he hyperventilated. Whatever had just happened to him, he didn’t need to come back to himself until absolutely necessary.
He swore he could still feel the electricity burrowing under his skin, crawling up his spine, and-
-He didn’t want to think about that anymore.
Danny just wanted to go to bed.
Or play video games.
Or get a hug.
Danny could really go for a hug.
The shivering was dying down, and the twitching had almost stopped.
One more minute and he was starting to get his breathing under control too.
Opening his eyes, the first thing Danny saw was Mr. Wayne, crouched in front of him, talking to someone Danny couldn’t see, and looking over Danny with glowing, iridescent green eyes.
“Daniel, can you hear me now?”
Danny nodded, not trusting his voice to work.
“Good, hold on; there’s a…very specialized medical team who need to look you over.”
Oh, no.
Danny decided it was time to tell his voice to suck it up.
“Don’t-don’t tell my parents!”
Mr. Wayne paused, staring down at him incredulously.
“Are you joking?”
Wow, Mr. Wayne sounded a lot like Sam when he was pissed.
Time to butter him up.
“No. I’m not. By the way, Mr. Wayne, whoever told you that the uh, white streak was a good look for you definitely deserves a raise! Totally! Also I swear I won’t tell anyone you’re a meta.”
Mr. Wayne froze, staggered up, and turned to look at the mirror next to Sam and Tucker.
They looked horrified, but they’d also just found out one of the richest men in the world’s deepest secret, so Danny couldn’t blame them.
Then Mr. Wayne let out a strangled sound, and Danny knew his attempt to butter the man up had failed.
“No, it’s fine. Dick. Dick, it’s fine. Stop panicking. Please, I can’t…deal. With that. I’ll go for a check up on the way back.”
Also Mr. Wayne had an imaginary friend.
Stupid.
Danny should have complimented the imaginary friend too.
“Danny, dude, what?”
Danny turned to look at Tucker, only to lean away from the tears on his Best Friends face.
“Danny. Danny? Danny, I think you’re dead,” Sam whispered, the closed off look on her face when the world became too much.
“He’s not-”
“No I’m not-”
He paused in time with Mr. Wayne, who suddenly looked very concerned and glanced over at his parent’s stupid project.
Danny thought the concern wasn’t warranted.
“I’m not dead, look, I have a pulse and ev..ery…” Danny frowned, pushing his fingers against his jugular harder.
Nothing.
Hand over chest?
Nothing.
Wait, when was the last time he breathed after the panic attack?
He couldn’t remember.
“...Mr. Wayne,” Danny whispered, staring at the only adult in the room and hoping he could help, “Where’s my pulse?”

I've posted chapter 1 of my new fic, "Ignore at Your Own Risk" an expansion of the snippet I posted before about Danny getting all of John Constantine's soul contracts called "Can't Ignore Us Anymore".
The beginning of Chapter 1 is mostly the same as the snippet, the middle is completely new, and the end has been reworded. Hoping to get new chapters out at least every other week, but that will hopefully move to once a week as I get into the swing of things.
Here is a snippet of the middle below the keep reading.
The boy appeared again in the ruins of a town. Buildings crumpled and stagnant pools of green-brown water amidst the mud and muck.
The aftermath of a tsunami in a landlocked town.
There were signs of reconstruction. Signs that, despite the devastation, not everyone had died. There were still enough people to bury the dead, to rebuild for the living, even if it was slow.
Despite this, the boy encountered no one as he made his way forward. Shadows lurked in the broken buildings, quick to draw back as he passed. The boy continued on, the briefest flickers of grief flashing across his face before it was reigned back, face neutral but eyes cold once more.
The boy briefly stopped in front of a large government building. It had fared better than most, but still bore the scars of the event that had laid the town low. Mud caked high onto the building where the waters had dragged it. Several pillars cracked, broken, or completely gone. All the windows boarded up and covered in tarp along with several holes in the walls. A large section of the stairs was completely missing. And the doors, crooked and ajar, with their frames swollen from water damage.
Despite the state of the doors, they opened without a sound to the boy's touch. He continued on, mud absent from his steps as he walked the halls. Evidence of damage was apparent inside in the slow rotting of the framing at the tops of the hallway walls, the lighter shapes on the walls where there was once furniture or decorations that had been destroyed or moved, and the mud stained floor, a path hastily cleared down the center. The distant sound of arguing voices at the end of the hall.
The boy, unhurried, made his way towards the end of the hall, where another set of double doors lay open, the argument growing louder and louder, until eight distinct voices could be heard. Inside sat the Council.
They did not notice the boy at first. No one saw him until he wished to be seen, but even if he had, they likely would not have, too enthralled in their argument. The boy watched.
"This whole thing is a risk, Valerie! We never should have sent him off alone and-"
"And what Jazz?! We've tried the normal ways and they never cared then, so why would they care now? We have to make them care!"
They all appeared run down and dirty. Mud stained clothes they'd worn for several days in a row. Hair limp and frizzy. Their faces were mostly clean, with the occasional spot of mud. Prominent dark circles beneath their slightly sunken eyes contrasting with comparatively pale skin. Tense lines running across their face and several hands clenched with mud caked beneath the nails that could be seen. They all had unpainted steel guns with glowing green canisters shining through the handles.
Jazz was standing, fists clenched at her sides, face slightly flushed, like all the blood in her face had flowed into her cheeks. Her red hair was shoved into a messy bun, nearly matted from the lack of clean running water to bathe with.
Valerie loomed over the table, hands planted firmly on it, face set in angry determination, green irises slowly bleeding red, strands of curly black hair rising into the air from where they'd fallen out of her hair wrap.
"And we will, Valerie. The Justice League will be aware of Amity Park soon and the consequences of their inaction." The words, while stated calmly, held an anger to them that few could match. The woman who spoke them sat straight, like a steel rod had replaced her spine. Her red hair was shot through with gray, and her teal eyes held a fire to them, like she'd see the world burn before her and it still wouldn't be enough.
She wore a black funeral dress, dirty like the rest of their clothes, but over there heart, the fabric had been torn until it flopped over, exposing a darker undershirt. Despite the stains on the rest of the dress, this spot, this torn fabric, had been kept clean and displayed prominently.
Clenched tight in her right hand was the arm of a blond man. His hair similarly disheveled and shot through with gray, clothes a similar set of mourning black, torn over his heart as well. In appearance, it was clear he followed the lead of the woman beside him, but unlike her, his blue eyes were nearly dead, staring out at the world as a passive observer.
"Talking about this now won't solve anything, Pamela. All we can do is wait for news, so we should spend it productively. Food and water should last for another few days before we need to go for a supply run or try to negotiate with the ghosts. Reconstruction is going…as well as can be expected. Two more buildings were made habitable, so we can move a few more groups out of the Community Center. How is water purification, weapon production, and Militia training going?"
The words had started strong, but as she went, they got harsher and quieter, like she was fighting to get them out of her mouth without coughing. Her thin, nearly gray hands rose before falling like weights, her strength failing her. Quiet wheezing parted her chapped lips, nearly moving her sunken cheeks. Despite her obvious poor health, her eyes remained sharp and intelligent.
"Angela, you should be resting-"
"I'm FINE, Maurice! I spent a week resting in the hospital, that's more than anyone else here. There are more important and necessary things that need to be done and it's not like resting will bring-" Her teeth clacked together audibly, breath slowly whistling between her teeth before rising as she suppressed another coughing fit.
Maurice flinched back like he'd been slapped. Slowly, carefully he rested his hand on Angela's back. Tears threatened to spill from his green eyes, but they were still filled with understanding and shared grief.
A quiet ping echoed from his side and his hand shot down, retrieving a battered PDA. Eyes tearing away from Angela to focus the alert he'd received.

THIS IS PART 2!!
Now hear me out, and I probably have to explain a few of my mental scenario headcanons on purpose this time for this to make sense, but please bear with me
Gotham the city has Gotham the ghost and she's weak, well not weak but low energy. She could be strong if she didn't waste/use her energy (this will make sense later I promise)
(You know this fics where she's always giving up her powers because she's dying from low energy or trying to feed on danny and failing, that's where this came from)
I'll come back to this
Ok now hear this, Amity park
(Why doesn't Amity have its own ghost by now, look at all that juicy ectoplams in Amity)
I'm gonna try to keep my justice league crossover headcanons mostly out of this, but with Amity park citizens feeling abandoned by the outside world/justice league not answering there pleas, that strong emotion formed Amity, Amity parks ghost
(I'm going to need to use kitty to help explain my head Canon about ghosts)
You know how kitty couldn't survive outside the ghost zone, regular ghost outside the zone haven't bonded with enough ectoplasm to survive aka be allowed to enter the ghost zone/infinite realms
Even ghost zone ghosts don't stay out of the zone for too long periods of time when they're attacking Amity park they need to recharge after days-month(depending how strong they are) or intake some ectoplams or feed on their obsession
Weaker ghost from the living hey can barely keep themselves visible and speak English(or they're natural language)
They're stuck invisible, intangible and can only speak the language of the dead
This is why they take to write on walls, showing you they're there by building up right energy to move something, why you hear static or mumbling when they try to talk etc
🤔 I'm taking this as a headcanon to why Wulf only speaks Esperanto and ghost speech
Now I don't know how Gotham the ghost was formed or how long was Gotham the city made, but Gotham the city barely had ectoplams like barely, but Gotham the ghost was able to store and build up her energy over time
Now with the city not being a very safe place she wanted her citizens to be able to live in peace, but she wasn't strong enough to help and could only watch, when she was strong enough to enter the zone
( just thought of this, but whenever I think about the ghost I always say oh they need enough ectoplams to survive in the ghost zone/infinite realm, then they need to find a portal and enter
BUT if so wouldn't there be infinite zone ghost just around looking for one and being lucky enough to find a portal, do they fly all the way to the brunuda triangle?? Wouldn't there be more of them in the living world, low on energy or causing havoc or drunk on their obsession?
Now what if when you have enough ectoplams the zone reaches out to you and forms a natural portal for you to enter, I've read a fanfic where Danny brought a gotham ghost girl that got shit in the face to the zone, she was visible, speaking english and strong enough to utilize her energy, but i like the thought of the zone reaching out 🤔)
Anywho now that Gotham is in the zone now she build up energy and is becoming stronger but unlike other ghost it doesn't go to strength attacks, or she doesn't put it towards that
With her obsession she decides to make a Gotham in the zone and uses all her energy for the ghost zone Gotham and keeps other non ghotam ghost out, her powers allow her to access living world Gotham, portals only to Gotham, she can also observe living world gotham within the zone, but because she uses all her energy on ghost zone Gotham she's kinda like kitty, where she can't stay out of the zone too long
But she spends her little time bringing in low tier ghost to ghost zone Gotham, but they're not allowed to leave because they wouldn't survive in the ghost zone (now hear me out what if Bruce's parents are residents of ghost zone Gotham, and basically anybody a that was lucky enough to form a ghost after being killed by a villain in Gotham)
Ok now back to Amity, she's a little different
But before that Amity park has always been ghostly and home for paranormal activities because the thinner line between them and the ghost zone/infinite realms than other places (a reason why Maddie and Jack moved there)
A recent headcanon and I can't remember where it came from but... I actually I don't know where to start this.... the portal worked because how thin the veil between the two dimensions were in Amity, it wouldn't have worked or worked that easily if it was some other place
Amity park was always going to be brought into the ghost zone regardless of pariah dark
Like in the future minus if the fentons never moved there, natural portals would have become more frequent and the areas where they appear the barrier between the living world and ghost zone would become thinner until cracks start appearing and then the veil breaks and Amity is sucked into the zone all together
Now because of the fenton portal
The energy of the portal sucked the stray ectoplams in Amity stabilizing it for longer than it would have cracked
And with the animosity towards the outside world and the justice league when amitians were calling for help with pariah-
(maybe at that point the justice league put them on block or something after the 13th call about a box ghost or ghost octopus attacking)
-dark but they still didn't show up, like the only days they did show up in the early calls were on truces or just bad timing
That's when uh....let's say Lance thunder called and it cut off like they were immediately put on voice-mail and everyone in Amity just felt abandoned, which formed Amity
I don't really have a headcanons on how she looks, but I picture her younger than Gotham.. like 13 years old but plays in the sad castle, I can see her randomly playing her Amity parks with the children....
Anywho after just being formed and sucked into the zone by pariahs whole attack, Amity basically got a speed run towards higher ghost tier and because of the fresh resources she can survive a long time out of the zone but when she returns to the zone the entirety of Amity park is brought with her until she recharges to return to the living world
Amity park has good ectoplams base than Gotham city but Amitys out put is more than the imput of Amity park, she waste more energy than she absorbs because the energy she gets she releases some into Amity park
(Maybe this is where the citizens of Amity start to become liminal)
, but like it changes
Let's say she only goes into the zone once a year, the she goes into to the zone every 6 month then every 3, to once a month
Then the time she stays in the zone gets longer each time
And then the reverse happens when she doesn't have to stay in the zone for long periods of time and start to stay longer outside the zone, until she pops in and out whenever she wants
No town wide identity reveal happened just his family and Val
(So the next time they're sucked into the zone would be one year from when they were sucked into it by Pariah)
And by the time they officially connect with the DC world as in the justice league finally take a notice it when danny and everyone is aged up in college, traveling, liminal in different varieties and Amity probably goes under like every 3 months
Random thought but
You can say all cities were just "thoughts" without ectoplams and motive to form
"We're from New York"
We're from jersey" Metropolis etc, and some of them even has mascots

Danny was born as a Halfa
So! Jack and Maddie are a little More insane in this.
When studying Ghosts, they become convinced that the only way to defeat the Ghostly Threat is to make a Ghost of their own. One who will fight on their Side. And they do believe that a "Good Ghost" is Possible, but only if fused with a Human to balance out the "Inherent Evil".
So, when Maddie gets pregnant they take the opportunity to try and make one of these theoretical "Halfas" by testing on the Baby in the Womb.
Jazz if Born, and she is not a Halfa. She is merely an extremely Liminal Toddler, so Jack and Maddie consider the experiment a Failure. They raise Jazz as per usual, and then 2 years later Jack and Maddie try again.
They have Danny, and this time he is a True Halfa! They did it! Now all they have to do is turn the Baby into the perfect Weapon against Ghosts!
Danny is raised less like a Baby and more like a Weapon. His Parents still treat him well, and give him some amount of love, but there is never any doubt in his mind that his only purpose in Life is to be the perfect weapon against Ghosts.
The only person who really treats him like something more than a Weapon is Jazz, who likes to sneak into his Room and play with him when they parents are out of the House.
(Later addition: They also have Ellie as a Kid a few years later, but because they messed up the process she is not as Stable as Danny is. She is 4 years younger than he is)
Then, they day he had been preparing for his whole life comes. When he is 10, a Ghost manages to sneak through a Natural Portal into Amity Park, and the Fentons send him to go deal with it as his First Test Run.
But when he gets there, he doesn't find an Evil Ghost bent on killing everyone in town. He finds a Teenage Girl, with blue flaming Hair, crying to herself.
(Idk how long ago Ember died, so lets just assume she died around 6 years before Canon)
He doesn't attack immediately, and when the girl sees him she invites him to sit with her. Against his better judgement, he agrees and sits with her.
She talks to him for a bit, and eventually explained why she was crying. Apparently she only died a few weeks ago and had finally found her way back to the Living World, back home. But when she got there she found that nobody really cared about her Death.
She had died in a House Fire, and because she had spent her entire night waiting for her Boyfriend to show up for a Date, she was too tired to wake up in time to escape.
Her Parents had obviously mourned, but her supposed friends and her boyfriend had hardly cared. In fact, it turned out that her Boyfriend had stood her up because he was cheating on her. So she had run off into the Park and sat down to Cry about it, where Danny had found her.
And Danny is confused.
His entire life, he has heard that Ghosts are Non-Sentient Killing Machines. That they don't feel any emotion aside from Malice. That they aren't People.
But this Girl is as Human as anybody else he has ever known. Perhaps even More Human.
He decides to ignore The Fentons Orders, and lets her go back through the Portal she had come through.
When he gets Home, the Fentons are less than pleased. They are Livid in fact.
Their Perfect Weapon was a Failure after all! It's too much like a Ghost to ever side with the Humans! It's just another Spook!
And they know what to do with Spooks.
They lock him up in the Lab, and decide to cut him open Later to figure out what went wrong.
They'll be successful next time.
Thankfully, their jeers to Danny are heard by Jazz in the other Room, and she doesn't like this one bit. So that night, she takes Danny and Ellie with her and Runs away. They need to get out of Amity Park, out Illinois even. They run and run, sneaking onto Buses, hitchhiking, even jumping on Trains.
Eventually they end up in a place called Gotham City.
...
Ages at the end.
Jazz: 12
Danny: 10
Ellie: 6

So, reveal gone right. Maddie and Jack are nothing but supportive of Danny. Of course they feel guilty, for their bigotry, attacking their son, never even noticing the accident. It's Jasmine that proposes a family bonding activity, to spend time together and work through the years of issues that they can only now address.
The activity in question? Family Road Trip & Field Study! That's right; what better way for a family of scientists to bond than correcting literal decades of bad science? Which is how the Fenton family, alongside Sam and Tucker at Danny's request, wound up in Gotham, hoping to interview one of the strongest Genii Loccorum in America.
Of course, there's more than a few ectoplasmic encounters waiting for them in Gotham. Everything from an angry Revenant, to a baby liminal that Danny just knows is related to the guy who's been bathing in dirty ecto for like centuries, to a horde of restless spirits following some clown like a permanent thunderstorm.

Dc x Dp Prompt #2
Danny loved his life. After his reveal to Jack and Maddie as a half ghost went right, everything started falling into place.
Vlad stopped his insane schemes once his parents were set loose on him. Sure he’s still mayor but he funds the town, keeps them protected from unwanted visitors, and is no longer trying to kidnap/adopt/clone Danny anymore.
Speaking of clones, Ellie was officially adopted into the family. She didn’t live with them full time with her obsession being freedom, but at least she has a home to return to now.
Dan was also adopted into the family. He is still on probation but turns out having their adopted family again (and as many ghost fruits as he wants) helped ease the rage. That’s not to mention Dan’s and Skulker’s bi-weekly figh- errr meetups.
Well at least there’s been no property destruction since he’s been crowned. After he and his rogues began scheduling their own meetups, his grades started going up again. So while he may never become an astronaut like he always dreamed of, he could still go up to space and see the stars whenever he wanted to.
Sure, being king wasn’t exactly what he wanted in life (or death) but he could protect his ghosts and liminals better this way. And considering his entire town is either ghost or liminal, it was just easier to protect them from the GIW and the government in general with a crown on his head.
Besides being king isn’t all bad either. He’s rich now meaning they won’t be racked up in college debt, he has cool artifacts that were gifted to the ghost king over the millennia that were left untouched but he’s not about to return them (they were gifts to the ghost king, practically funeral gifts like flowers but more rare and expensive), and he has crazy powerful Ancients as friends/family/mentors/protectors. He’s still a baby in ghost years and a minor in human years so he’s not expected to do much either way.
Life was going great, especially after Amity Park adopted ghost etiquette and ecto-infused food and beverages.
So why the Ancients are the Justice League of all people standing outside his front door with the Batman looking thoroughly freaked out the moment he opened the door? He hasn’t said anything yet either!! Stupid fucking government heroes.
