I have such a cool idea for my grad cap and if I can pull it off I’m gonna be so excited

#listen ok so #I’m pulling a bunch of my fav quotes from my fav pieces of writing #and then a couple quotes from my own for funnies to rep the creative writing side of my college education😂#but for the lit stuff I want to take quotes from a range of stuff #ranging from classic lit (so far there’s emerson - plath - melville - and Whitman)#to fanfic!#and I think what I’m gonna do is type them all in a nice font on a piece of paper #altogether without bothering to put who the quote belongs to #and so it’s like #yay my favorite hopeful quotes for the future sorta related to graduation and sorta just my favs #but also.. statement about how we value different forms of literature?#like they’re all gonna be equal there cause you won’t know who wrote what #unless the person reading it is an English nerd like me ig… but everyone ELSE #anyway #that’s just the background. the rest is gonna be decorated with ribbon or flowers or something and have block letters over the quotes #but I’m excited

This just further fuels the chaotic dynamic of Dick and Jason during a time where Dick was still going through his teenage angst and was absolutely not a benevolent role model LMAO

I mentioned it in this post, but it's just so funny to me to imagine a Jason who grew up with an absolutely WILD Dick Grayson as an older brother, while the younger batkids grew up with a more mellowed out and mature (arguable but when measured against the other kids, he wins by a landslide) Dick Grayson.

Robin!Jason era:

Dick: You wanna go out and get high?

Jason: I can't, I have homework.

Dick, sputtering: HOMEWORK?

hey I went to Bad At It island and everyone you know was there. yeah turns out you just see the version of them they put forwards in order to not disappoint and in actuality everyone is just trying their best which doesn't always mean succeeding. yeah you were there as well but it's ok because you're surrounded by your friends and loved ones and if you take a moment you'll realise we are all flawed by nature but we are all full of love for one another and that matters more than any skill or success or achievement.

as someone who rarely listens to music, i am unceasingly in wonderment at the emotional connection many humans have to music as a medium. genres & styles & artists and all that jazz --you guys care a lot about this stuff. i sit marveling at the sheer commonplaceness of people feeling an intimate connection to individual songs & albums & musicians. to the point musical preferences are often considered a meaningful part of one's identity as an individual....thats crazy. so much passion...so much fierceness of feeling ...people say "you have to listen to this song" and i listen for 30 seconds and say "neat!" bc it is, it's neat! the chorus is catchy! i might tuck it away to hum to myself later. but for now im putting my earplugs back in returning to the glorious silence that my essence depends on the same way my lungs depend on an oxygen-rich atmosphere. u beset me with fascination
