It’s just, this is some really intense stuff, and I don’t think--” He was interrupted by an intense scoffing noise and no break in the stone mask of fury the kid’s face had become. He tried again. “All I need is for you to tell me what you were doing with--” He was interrupted again, this time by the barest glint of some sharp object the kid was trying to use to cut through the bola ropes. "Fuck it,” Clint decided, and just tranquilized him.

My thoughts: Damian is so funny for this. Disappointing to be missing Duke.

I had to cut yet another scene from one of my morpherine week/ @morpherine-events fics so im posting it here

Day 7: Free Day -> Crossover with Deadpool & Wolverine

Logan dragged them into his room and pushed Morph towards the bathroom, the bright white light turning on. He stood in the doorway, blocking their escape. Logan crossed his arms and stared at Morph like he was waiting.

"What?"

Logan gestured at them, "Take a shower."

Morph was confused, "I have a shower in my own room."

"Your room is too far."

Morph stared at Logan. He was really being this ridiculous over some clothes.

"What am I going to wear? All my clothes are in my room."

"You can borrow mine. Now strip."

Was Logan being serious? "Like right now?"

"Yes."

"Do you plan on watching me during this whole process?"

Some clarity seemed to come over Logan then, and he looked guilty.

"How about this, you go to my room and get me some of my clothes to wear. While you're doing that, I'll take a shower here."

Logan didn't seem happy at that suggestion. Whether it was the fact Morph would be in their own clothes or because he wouldn't be able to watch Morph shower, they didn't know.

Morph gently pushed Logan out of the bathroom and shut the door. Then locked it for good measure.

Morph grabbed the soap and wondered if the reason Logan wanted them to shower here was so they'd smell like Logan. That was most definitely why Logan wanted them in his clothes, according to Laura and Wade. Something about claiming and marking that made their Logan unconvincingly deny it and leave the room.

Logan came back while Morph was still in the shower, and broke the lock on the door to get in.

"Logan!"

"Relax, I'm just here to burn those clothes," Morph watched the shadow of Logan through the shower curtain swipe Other-Logan's clothes, sniff them, and growl.

"Make sure you do a decontamination clean."

Logan stalked out of the bathroom but left the door open.

Morph stepped out of the shower. Logan was upon them immediately, sniffing as he circled Morph, who felt very exposed in just a towel.

Logan sent them back in for a second shower.

Logan had opened the bathroom door again, and this time Morph saw him rubbing his face on a shirt.

"Can I get dressed now?"

Logan dropped the shirt and came over to do another sniff check. He walked away and threw Morph's clothes at them. Morph noticed the shirt Logan was rubbing on was included.

Because this chapter has blown out again because I don't want to split the fight scene in two <3 We manifest it's done sometime this week.

Even as it weighs on him that he’s killing without discrimination, that he’s not thinking about the creatures as living, there’s a sense of exhilaration about getting to throw a punch with all of his strength behind the motion. Without having to slow down, without having to hold anything back, to move exactly how he was designed to. And it’s better than hunting newborns with Alice, only because even though the aliens go down easier there are so many of them that there’s always another one to take down.

More than one fighter on their side is caught unaware by his speed; he saves two Wakandan warriors simply by being faster than both of them and their opponent - crude but effective when they stare at him. Almost like they might recognise what he is. But that’s something to worry about later.

Emmett finds himself moving down the frontline, trying to thin out the enemies before they make it across to the Wakandans, to the more breakable fighters. It’s not easy, but it’s something. It’s better than it could be.

He’s dismembering a particularly solid alien when there is a… a streak of gold light, moving faster than anything that Emmett’s ever seen in his life - including Edward.

People who are like them. They just didn’t have to be disemboweled by a bear or gang-raped or thrown off a cliff to become that way.

(He’s always wondered that - it was a common family debate back in the day that, in a world with vampires and werewolves and shape-shifters, they couldn’t be the only things out there. Carlisle always kindly humoured his arguments, and had congratulated him when superheroes started appearing, but this is different. This is… this is tricking Edward into racing this gold-streak and getting his ass kicked and just that singular stupid thought, the possibility that this is all going to end in a way where he can go back home and make stupid bets with his oldest-and-youngest brother…)

An alien flings a sheet of bent metal in his direction, but Emmett plucks it out of the air like a paper plane, his gaze solid and unwavering as he approaches his opponent. The alien doesn’t back off, and he’s one of the ones that are tougher skinned, like leather, with a fluid-filled outer layer to protect the skeleton.

And it breaks apart just like a human, wet and reeking, with a screech that sounds bird-like and enraged. Hive-minded, tiny-brained creatures sent to destroy and maim and feed mindlessly, he reminds himself when that voice that sounds a lot like Esme when he’s done something careless whispers in his ear that he’s a killer. It has to happen, there are no second chances out here. That was the lesson they learn over the last five years, and the Cullen legacy of propriety and humanity and empathy have never faced down this hellscape.

(But also they live in a world where something vaguely female shaped can run faster than his eyes can track; where there’s a talking raccoon, fucking flying horses overhead and an 100-foot superhero scooping up aliens like popcorn, where he’s pretty ordinary really, and this is a version of life he cannot wait to show Rose.)

5 + 1 Fic Friday Roundup: The Voice in My Head is Nothing to Worry About

Some fics where the protagonist can hear a voice (or voices). It is May, the month of Mental Health Awareness. I'm told fictional depiction of things like schizophrenia are usually not that authentic so I went mostly with spirit guide type situations for this fic roundup.

Steel Hands (SB) - Taylor's trigger has very different results. Results like turning into a robot and hearing his voice in her head.

I Just Love Killin' (SB) - Instead of a boring old Shard, Taylor receives the spirit of Krombopulous Michael, the friendly intergalactic assassin. Can an idealistic girl make a difference with the help of one cheerful hitman?

Three's a Crowd (AO3) - It’s a sad day at the academy when their teacher tells them that the class clown, Naruto, died in an accident last night. Sakura should be sad, or maybe a little distressed. Well, she’s a lot distressed. Not because Naruto is dead. No, she’s distressed because she woke up this morning with Naruto’s voice in her head panicking and telling her that he was attacked last night. Now he’s cussing out the teacher in her head because 'it wasn’t an accident! I was attacked, you lying bastard!' while Inner tries to calm him down.

Of Blackguards and Mercenaries (SB) - Taylor Hebert's shard awakens with the ability to summon heroes from another...

Sect (SB) - Taylor Hebert, post-Gold Morning, ends up haunting a young girl who needs saving in another dimension.

Bonus: The Shade and His Daughter (AO3) - This is part of a series where Stiles is the human Alpha of the pack. In this fic Stiles is quite content knowing that Peter Hale is dead and in the ground, which is why it's a little disconcerting when Peter starts showing up in his dreams, telling Stiles that his daughter is in trouble.

Extra Bonus where Jason Todd is sharing his meatsuit: Visitant Lights (AO3) - After a run in with Vlad that left the entire Fenton family turned into little children and a subsequent kidnapping by what they think are ninjas the Fenton family escape to Gotham to lay low and figure out how to reverse their ages as Sam and Tucker help where they can, growing sense of dread as months goes by and they are no closer to fixing this.

Danny, frustrated at lack of progress and tiny body, runs into the Red Hood while stealing his wheel to replace the one he broke.

Well, I prefer happier endings, but I'll admit that bittersweet spice is in my cabinet. Maybe i am writing graffiti on your body or i fall in love whenever we meet.

I do! I write lots of flavors, lots of pairings... I've written a lot for fic swaps and requests, so I have (and will) tried a lot of different stuff I may or may not have any personal interest in. I write a considerable amount of BDSM or D/s-flavored stuff.

Sure. At first, I was thinking the craziest was my Gay-Perry-is-Danny-Parker Kiss Kiss Bang Bang/The Salton Sea crossover, but then I remembered I wrote a Thunderheart/MCU crossover for Carla, so. (I did also write a Captain Marvel/Top Gun xover, but canon was BEGGING for it.)

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes! Several. In various ways, in various fandoms, over the past two decades. In fact, a fairly well-known author has ripped off several of my works, but they're not full copy-and-paste jobs, so I cannot report them and am just, as the French say,

I think that's the shit that makes me the maddest. The straight up copy-and-paste plagiarizers are just kind of sad.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! I have eight translations on AO3, into Russian, Mandarin, and Korean. I also have eight podfics and some number of remixes.

Yes. My latest is upcoming next year, the story @topgunreacts and I wrote for @topgunzine

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

In general, I'm for it, but I dislike extensive foreign language use that the reader can't get to through context clues. At that point, are you as a writer serving yourself more than the reader? (Yes.)
