#nonbinary culture is
Text
Disabled queer culture is loving and supporting all trans/nonbinary/cisn’t individuals who don’t go through with various aspects of transitioning for any reason!
Cisn’t people who don’t want to or can’t transition medically, I care about you!
Cisn’t people who don’t want to or can’t do vocal training, I care about you!
Cisn’t people who don’t want to or can’t change aspects of their appearance, I care about you!
Cisn’t people who don’t want to or can’t transition socially, I care about you!
Cisn’t people who aren’t out, for any reason? So much love and care being sent your way!

it's never funny to say "that's unfortunate" or something to that effect when someone comes out as a trans man or some other type of man, or tells you that they are attracted to men/a man. it will never be funny, it's literally just queerphobia. queerphobia extends to queer men, too

I think it's incredibly important to remind folks on testosterone or folks who want to reverse patterned baldness about their options, but man, does it sometimes suck wondering how much of our insecurities about our hair stem from backwards beliefs that to strive towards beauty is not only preferable but "makes you good."
As someone with a rather masculinized body pre-medical transition, patterned baldness has always seemed neutral. Hair is incredibly important (hell, much of my own energy is spent on my hair because I like it), but the pressure to have hair, to have hair the "right way" is something that I absolutely loathe.
I'm not here to judge people who don't want patterned hair loss or baldness, I'm here to say that those traits will never make you lesser. Not only is it neutral, but it is also just as worthy and beautiful.

As we move towards the summer months, this is a healthy reminder that:
BMI is misapplied at best and pseudoscience at worst.
That genetics have far more affect on body type than any other factor.
That a "healthy weight" varies wildly from person to person.
That your body's actual healthy weight shouldn't require constant dieting to maintain.
That some studies have shown that being slightly "overweight" based on BMI actually makes you more resilient against injury and illness.
That unless your weight is actually directly causing you mobility issues or pain, it isn't a problem.
That movement and food should be a source of joy, not self discipline and stress.
That everyone looks better in clothes that fit properly.
That being hydrated and well fed is far more important to your health than you realize.
That fed is best.
That chiseled abs are only really visible if you are dehydrated.
That feeling the sun on your skin and bird song can heal the parts of you that years of dieting and weight watching and self criticism has injured.
That you have no obligation to be sexy or beautiful.
That you should never say things about your own body that you wouldn't say about a friend's or a partner's.
That it is not a moral imperative to be healthy or mobile or skinny.
That the people who judge you for your weight are fighting their own demons.
That People are absolutely terrible at guessing a person's weight. How you dress and carry yourself has far more impact on perception.
That You don't have to be beautiful to enjoy a beautiful day.
Better happy than skinny.
Feeling good is better than looking good.

Non-binary culture is being shoved into binary boxes no matter what we do like:
being told we're either cis people who want attention or a binary trans person still in the closet
being asked if we're afab or amab when it isn't necessary
being invited to "women and nonbinary" spaces but only being allowed in if we look woman-lite
being told we're invading trans spaces if we don't transition because apparently we aren't trans enough
being told we taking trans resources if we do transition because we still aren't trans enough

"can I be [x gender] if I..." "can I still call myself [x term] if..." yes. yes. if you like the term then use it. do whatever you want forever. labels are just little words we use to categorize our infinitely complex existential experiences on this floating rock !! no two people who use the same label are going to experience it the same way and that's the beauty of it !! use "contradictory" labels, use labels that don't make sense to anyone, change your label every day or not at all, explore anything and everything, use no labels at all or every label under the sun, confuse people or correct them or let them assume things rather than explaining, I promise nothing other people think about your identity is worth your happiness !!

Pregnant transgender man stars on cover of Glamour UK’s Pride issue
Tumblr media
NBC News reports:
Glamour UK launched its digital June Pride cover this week featuring a pregnant transgender man.
The cover features transgender activist and author Logan Brown standing topless with a suit painted over his chest and his pregnant belly on full display.
Tumblr media
You can read the Glamour UK interview here.
Logan Brown says:
The thing is, gender and sexuality are two completely different things, and people don’t even realise it. I had a few girlfriends and long-term relationships. And then I finally just focused on myself; I realised that there was more to this, there was more to me, that my identity of being trans was something that I wanted to explore. I definitely identify as queer now. So, it’s been quite a journey for me with my gender and sexuality. My partner now is non-binary, and they’re beautiful.

Unsurprisingly, people are already being fucking weird about Mizu's gender.
Headcanons are all well and good, but maybe we shouldn't be so eager to apply modern Western gender politics and terms to a character whose identity is so tied to the time, place, and circumstances in which she exists.
Please remember that Mizu was forced to present as male for her own safety and agency. Please remember that allowing others to see her as a man and call her he/him is not a choice; it's protection; it's a means to an end. Until we see Mizu talk about her gender in further detail, that's all the context we have.
Don't project what you want to see onto her and then treat it as fact.

The hardest, but most important, part of my transition has been untangling what my personal dysphoria is, and what is more a result of cissexism.
What I mean by this is that I learned that I am not dysphoric about certain aspects of myself, my body, and my life, but my discomfort in these aspects was influenced by the cissexist culture I live in which told me I couldn't exist as myself.
It's definitely a slow process, but I have found that it helps me self-actualize and actually see myself instead of what others demand of me.

Hey so with the barbie movie coming out mod is once again seeing comments like “I’m nonbinary and wish I could just have flat genitalia like a doll, it would take away my dysphoria”. Mod got a dysphoric culture ask about it like 2 years ago actually and now there are more so:
This is possible.
If your transition goal is to have a complete removal of all your internal and external genitalia, there is a real surgery that people get to do that. It’s called genital nullification.
It’s also called nullectomy or nullo.
It’s not a very new or super complicated surgery. Everything is taken out/taken off and you’re left with just a hole for your urethra (where you urinate out of). The urethra may be moved as part of surgery. If you research the procedure you’ll also probably hear them talk about urethral shortening, because nullification is mostly done on cis men/transfems/nonbinary patients who require a penectomy as part of the surgery.
Now don’t get this for an aesthetic or because you like how dolls look. It takes 6-8 weeks of recovery and is as serious a decision as any other bottom surgery. More info is here and here. This website has some info and pictures (graphic warning) of nullification along with phallus-preserving vaginoplasty, another nonbinary surgery.
Hopefully this helps someone!
