ă BETWEEN YOU, YOU AND ME. ă
Builderman x GN! Reader x Telamon
warnings: none!
notes: someone forgot to turn on anon LMAO
THE HILL OVERLOOKING the plains of Robloxia was your favorite spotâthough youâd never have guessed it would become a shared sanctuary.
The three of you often ended up here when life grew too chaotic.
Telamon liked the height, his wings twitching idly as the breeze ruffled his feathers.
Builderman, true to his nature, brought a blanket and snacks because, as he said, âEvery good retreat needs a plan.â
Today was no different. The sun was setting, pixelated rays casting golden hues over the land.
Builderman was unpacking a neatly wrapped sandwich while Telamon perched on a nearby boulder, surveying the horizon with his usual sharp gaze.
You sat between them, letting the soft grass tickle your fingers.
âYouâre unusually quiet,â you said, glancing up at Telamon.
He snorted, crossing his arms. âIâm always quiet.â
Builderman laughed softly. âYou mean âaloof.â Thereâs a difference.â
Telamon shot him a glare, but there was no real venom in it. You could tell he was comfortable here, even if he wouldnât admit it.
As the sun dipped lower, Builderman sat down beside you, his shoulder brushing against yours. âYou know,â he began, adjusting his hard hat, âmoments like this are rare. You should savor them.â
Telamon rolled his eyes but joined you both on the grass, his wings folding neatly behind him.
He reached out, plucking a blade of grass and twirling it between his fingers. âSavoring the quiet isnât exactly my strong suit,â he muttered.
You smiled, leaning back on your hands. âItâs nice, though. Peaceful. No deadlines, no battles, just⌠this.â
Telamonâs golden eyes softened as he looked at you. âI suppose itâs tolerable. Especially with good company.â
Builderman grinned, offering you a piece of his sandwich. âAnd snacks. Donât forget the snacks.â
The three of you fell into a companionable silence, the soft rustle of grass and the distant hum of Robloxia your only background noise.
For all their differencesâTelamonâs regal demeanor and Buildermanâs grounded practicalityâthey were at their best here, in these quiet moments.
You couldnât help but feel that, somehow, youâd become part of something extraordinary.
And when Telamonâs wing brushed lightly against your shoulder, and Builderman handed you another snack with a warm smile, you knew youâd never trade this for anything.
Later that night, the three of you found yourselves gathered around a small campfire.
Builderman had insisted on setting it up, his hammer doubling as a firestarter with an ingenious little attachment heâd designed.
Telamon, predictably, had scoffed at the idea of âsitting around like peasants,â but even he couldnât deny the comforting warmth.
You poked at the fire with a stick, watching the sparks rise into the night sky.
Telamon sat cross-legged across from you, his wings shifting occasionally as he stared into the flames.
Builderman was leaning back against a log, his hard hat resting beside him, a rare sight that made him look more approachable than usual.
âDo you thinkâŚâ you began, hesitating as you looked at the two of them.
âDo you think youâll ever get tired of all this? The battles, the responsibility, being the ones everyone looks up to?â
Builderman hummed thoughtfully, his gaze flicking to Telamon, who was unusually quiet.
âIâve thought about it,â Builderman admitted. âBut someone has to build a foundation for others. If not me, then who?â
Telamon snorted, tossing a twig into the fire. âSpoken like a true martyr. But honestly?â He looked at you, his golden eyes reflecting the flickering flames.
âThere are moments when I wish I could just⌠exist. Without the weight of expectations.â
The vulnerability in his voice surprised you. Telamon rarely let his guard down, even around Builderman.
You leaned forward slightly, placing a hand on the ground between you. âYou both deserve that. Moments where youâre just yourselves.â
Builderman smiled softly, his gaze warm. âMaybe thatâs what this is. Being ourselves. No titles, no battles. Just⌠us.â
Telamon chuckled, the sound lighter than usual. âIf thatâs the case, weâve chosen good company.â
And as the fire crackled and the night deepened, the three of you sat together, sharing quiet stories and easy laughter.
For once, the world beyond the hill didnât matter.
All that mattered was the bond youâd forged with two of Robloxiaâs most powerfulâand surprisingly humanâfigures.

The scene with q!Forever and q!Philza at Global spawn in Pugatory is something that will always kinda sit in the back of my head. Because it truly, truly solidifies the strength in their dynamic, and neither of them will probably realize it lol. Hello, I'm here to be insane about q!philever, so buckle up
Like everyone else, q!Phil was dealing with a lot in Purgatory. He began to lose trust in close friends. He wasn't sure he'd even be able to save his children. While trying to uphold his morality and not kill except in self-defense, he was very much walking a fine, jittery line. All while trying to keep his team organized and motivated. Aside from kind of losing his mind like the others, there was no clear indication that Phil's composure was dangling by a loose thread.
But then he's allowed a moment of peace to exchange information with another team. It's just him and Forever. No kills planned, nothing. Just two people allowed to talk about the absurd situation they've been thrown into. A moment to really take everything in.
During the conversation, Forever doesn't hold judgement toward Phil or anyone else due to the event, even when he comments on Philza's kill on Rivers. Even when Phil tries to justify his actions, Forever doesn't hold it against him. It's hard to say exactly how important this is to what happens next, but I feel like it means something here.
It's when q!Forever says that once they leave Global Spawn, that they become "enemies" again, this is when q!Philza breaks. And I think this moment has been glossed over by many (I want more fan art, dammit >:T) cause it doesn't feel big on the surface. It's not like cc!Philza genuinely sounds heartbroken, his cries sound... a little exaggerated/dramatic, you know? What he cries about isn't anything groundbreaking, it's what many of them feel ("I don't want to be here." "I don't want to kill my friends."), even though Phil fans can sense a deeper meaning here. And after Forever briefly consoles Philza ("Everything is going to be good. This is what we need to go through."), Phil, like a flick of a switch, is right back to his composed, level-headed self. It was like that moment never even happened.
But it did, and it drives me crazy that he did it in front of Forever. cc!Phil made that conscious choice to have his character lose composure, his character that he and his fans knows is an emotionally constipated motherfucker. And the reason it drives me nuts is because how the fuck did we get here?
I can imagine this scenario with lots of characters, and it never plays out like this (i.e. with Tubbo, he'd likely just keep it all in. Et cetra.). I don't see him letting himself be this vulnerable around most others. Hell, before this, I never would've imagined he'd do this in front of Forever, either.
But the more I think about it, it kinda makes sense.
Phil and Forever's relationship is a funny one. Early on, Phil wouldn't trust Forever with a toothpick. He'd never be emotionally open with him. Forever even held a bit of animosity toward Philza after Phil'a final rejection. But that rocky start is honestly a huge part of why it is as strong as it is now. Cause, well, the strength of any relationship comes from accepting all parts of a person. Flaws and all.
Some characters hold Philza up on a pedestal (i.e. q!Missa). They don't really see his flaws. They don't think about his ugly sides. They just see a pillar of a man who is always willing to help, who can do anything and everything, who keeps composed and lighthearted and level-headed in any scenario. q!Forever was kinda like this, at one point.
But Forever realizes that isn't the case eventually. Because Phil's not great at dealing with emotional situations, and Forever learns that the hard way. Phil's not good at talking about feelings, he can be blunt and a bit harsh, because he's a pragmatic sort of guy. But it takes a softer, gentle approach to reject someone, and Phil wasn't ready for that. So, in retaliation to the hurt Phil caused him, Forever had a conflicted relationship with him. It didn't last long, but I digress. This brief shift in their relationship was for the better. By not placing him on this pedestal anymore, Forever began to see Philza in a different light. One that didn't cast Brunim in its shadow.
With Philza, Phil saw Forever at, arguably, his worst in the beginning. Obsessive, threatening, clutching onto a pipe dream with no regard for Phil's feelings. But over time, Phil got to see the much more real sides of Forever. When Tallulah lost her first life, when Forever made NINHO. He saw a passionate and intelligent side to this guy who was obsessed with him, and he respected that person. And with this recognition, he offered his trust to Forever, such as giving one of his presidential votes to Forever.
Both of their perspectives for the other changed throughout the first few months, and I believe they gained some level of appreciation between them because of that. They share this newfound respect and trust. And that is the core to their new relationship. Consistently, Forever and Phil have given each other open and mutual respect and trust. Never is either of these things taken for granted, abused, or manipulated in any way.
When Forever is hooked on the happy pills, he subconsciously seeks out Philza's help, which Phil offers with ease. Before Forever goes to the Nether, Phil expresses his worry and wants to help. But he doesn't push, because he respects Forever's agency, and trusts that Forever is doing what he thinks is best. (also during this scene, when Forever gave him access to the warpstone in that secret part of his base, only Forever and Richas had access to it beforehand, which feels like a big moment according to his fans, so! :D). So when Forever returns to the Nether, while he doesn't believe Fit and Pierre when they say they tried to save him, he absolutely, 100% believes in Philza.
Because he knows Philza by now, and Philza knows Forever. Maybe not on equal levels, but still. After merely a few months, they've slowly begun to understand each other a bit more. So I guess it's only natural that they'd be more open around each other.
I'd even argue that this isn't the first time Philza lets down his walls around Forever. It just didn't happen when Forever was awake.
I wouldn't say that Phil talking to Forever while he was in a coma is the same level of vulnerability as the scene in Purgatory. Because Phil wasn't totally direct with his feelings, he sort of deflected (the story, banging the pots and pans, calling him an idiot, etc). Hell, even when he is expresses how he feels, he's not entirely direct: "We just really care about you. We wanna see you come back. You're making us worry." Like, of course everyone cares, but to say this as we when it's just the two of you obviously feels like a moment of vulnerability but not wanting to admit to it. Cause, hey, under different circumstances, he absolutely would've committed to visiting Forever in the hospital every day. Still, his very open worry did give off a sense that his walls were crumbling.
So with all of this, if Philza can meet with someone alone in practical hell, and that someone, a person he openly trusts and cares about, can look him in the eye and say "I don't judge you" on the things he's has done, maybe that allowed the floodgates to open for a bit. Maybe once Forever said they'd be enemies outside those doors, the situation hit Phil like a truck, and he just couldn't keep it in anymore. And maybe knowing it was just the two of them, Phil knew he could be a person around Forever, not a leader or a mentor or a force to be reckoned with. And Phil really needs someone on equal footing with him like this. He needs someone he can feel safe around. So for him to find this in Forever, of all people, even if it's just for this moment, is extremely important to me.
The way their relationship has progressed, perhaps it would've been simply a matter of time for Philza to be open with Forever. I dunno when Phil will be quite so open around Forever again, but I do say when with a fair enough of certainty (or I could be wrong and I'm simply talking straight outta my ass but who knows). Because to have this moment with Forever was intentional, even if it feels like a blink and you miss moment. It may have been under a minute, it may not feel important to other viewers. BUT to me, it genuinely says so much about their relationship, how far they have come, and where they are now.
#qsmp#qsmp meta#sugarduo#philever#philza#forever#missy rambles#or none of it means anything and this never gets brought up or anything like that again and phil is mocking us for our dramaticsđ¤ˇ#either way idc let me have fun i love these two so muchhhhhhhhh <3#long post

i never want to hear about swifties getting bullied again. some of you are saying the most vile and cruel shit about a situation that to this day we know nothing about all because of a song and a time it was written which is fucking weird. swifties deserve any hate they get from the media because the hatred some of you are willing to inflict on others for a joke is disgusting.
#yeah and maybe this is too far but holy fucking hell#why after months and months and MONTHS of belittling this man (WHO HAS SAID AND DONE NOTHING) do you all continue to make jokes at the#expense of this guy who just dated your favorite pop star?#why is everything about her life and her new relationship brought back to this guy?#why can none of you see that what youâre doing is cruel and literal bullying and online harassment#imagine the whole world posting constant âjokesâ finding clues in your past relationship and exploiting it#and saying it was terrible and demeaning your character across multiple platforms#literally shut the fuck up!#and no this isnât nice but so many of you just keep on with it and are so mean#and like are you not tired? youâre not defending anyone#maybe iâll delete this in the morning or when i inevitably get death threats cause some of you are genuinely not above anything but whatever#itâs all so ridiculous just stop talking about it itâs not funny and never was

God I love Waking the Dragon's arc so much.
#personally I think it's a good example to look at for good filler#it has an engaging story that fits within the world itself like nothing that gets brought up/in really in anyway contradicts anything#previously established or later comes up#(plus I like that they didn't try to force/retcon in Dartz somewhere into Memory World/the Ancient Egypt stuff)#because 1 I mean even if he was there Atem never saw him/they never met ergo would make no sense for him to be in his memory world#2 one could still believe he was/is somewhere there during the Bakura stuff just you know out of sight/view so again we won't see him anywa#they didn't try to give Dartz some giant pivitol connection to Atem or any of our current cast save for Mai who only met him after what -#what happened in canon#thankfully because of how things were written they didn't have to put in the filler in the middle of a pre existing arc and was really just#just a bridge between the gap#like I'm not saying the writing for the arc itself was like 10/10 perfect story telling#but from the stand point of being an anime only filler creation with who knows how much in put from Takahashi himself- perhaps none idk#good stuff

virgin!nerdjo barely got the tip inside you before white-hot ropes of cum were already spilling from his cock.
his face burned a deep, humiliating red, frustration twisting his features. âshitâfuck, i'm sorry, iââ he was mortified :(( this wasn't how it was supposed to go. he had reviewed the literatures (even forums!!), constructed theoretical models, simulated countless scenarios in the deep recesses of his mindâbut none of them accounted for this. for failing at frame one. he buried his face in his hands, mumbling about how fucking useless he was, how he didn't deserve to touch youâ
but virgin!nerdjo shut up real quick when you kissed his temple, soft and sweet, whispering that it was okay, that you could try again when he got hard. statistically, he had prepared for ridicule, for you to laugh or sigh or at least look disappointedâbut instead you were kind. his chest ached, overwhelmed by the sheer improbability of it all.
you kept pressing those gently, featherlight kisses on his face as you saw sweat beading along his temples as virgin!nerdjo's mind spiraledâbecause what do you mean he came, and you didn't? what do you mean he got to feel good, and you didn't? not happening.
his gaze flicked to his desk, to the scattered notes, the open textbooks, the half finished equationsâ
virgin!nerdjo snatched his bic pen up before he could second-guess himself, adjusting his glasses (because god forbid he couldn't see a thing without them) and told you to stay still. your brows knitted in curiosity but you obeyed, eyes tracking the cool, smooth tip as he brought it to your lips. he traced them firstâthe same way he would annotate an important diagram. then down, slowly, as he imagined his tongue would if he wasn't still too flustered to use it. he skimmed it over your throat, down your sternum, circling each nipple before pressing the cold plastic directly against one. you whimperedâthe contrast of the icy bic pen against your burning skin sent a shiver up your spine.
virgin!nerdjo continued lower, hypothesized. his glasses slipped down the bridge of his nose as he drags the pen over your stomach, past your belly button, until he reached the soft skin of your inner thighs. he hesitated, only for a second.
virgin!nerdjo swallowed hard, his free hand adjusting his glasses as he pressed the cold tip firmly against your swollen bud. you jerked beneath him. he took a sharp inhale before he began circling it in slow, teasing motions. his earlier embarrassment melted into something hungrier, completely focused on your helpless moans.
virgin!nerdjo ran the smooth plastic length between your slick foldsânot pushing in, just gliding, experimenting, observing. he swore he could feel the warmth through the bic pen itself, feel the way it picked up your slick with every pass.Â
virgin!nerdjo had a pretty shade of pink creeping down his neck as he used his trembling hand to spread your legs wider. bringing his index and middle fingers together to press against your puffy lips, trapping the bic pen between them. a choked whimper escaped your lips as your arousal smeared against the plastic, against his fingertipsâwarm and wet and so muchâand when a choked whimper escaped your lips, his head spun.
virgin!nerdjo had never seen anything like this beforeânever imagined anything could be this erotic, this intoxicating. he was supposed to be the one making you feel good, right? then why did he feel like he was the one getting unraveling here? cock throbbingâstill sensitive, still stickyâbut already trying to get hard again.
virgin!nerdjo kept going, his movements more purposeful now, rubbing the cold tip over your clit in slow, firm circlesâmemorizing every little movement, every choked moan, every twitch of your hips as you desperately chased more friction.
virgin!nerdjo was losing it, breath shuddered as he pressed the tip down again, drunk on your reactions. he wanted to devour you. taste you. he was supposed to be embarrassed, supposed to be ashamedâbut all he could think about was how pretty you looked like this. he wanted to combust. he wanted nothing more than to hear your little moans, and see your hips jerking. the way you whined his name was enough to send him into another full-system crash. his pupils were so blown, you could barely see the pretty shade of blue in his eyes.
virgin!nerdjo has his glasses entirely fogged up, breath coming out in short, choked little gasps. his white fluffy hair stuck to his forehead in a disheveled mess as he worked you upâover and over and over. and when you were teetering right on the edge when your moans turned high and desperateâhe stopped.
virgin!nerdjo shouldn't find that hot, he wasn't even edging you on purpose!! he was justâŚentranced. the way your body tensed, your lips parting in frustration, fingers twitching as if you were trying not to grab his wrist and force him to keep going.
oh.
maybe virgin!nerdjo wasn't so bad at this after all.

where the heart is collection | read it on ao3 | masterlist

You had known from the start that it would be difficult being in a co-ed group. It was rare, especially in K-pop. But being outnumbered eight to one? It was unheard of.
You had been just as surprised all those years ago, when the company had pulled you into a room and offered you a position in the boy group that they were about to debut.
You had heard about the team that Chan had put together, every trainee had gossiped about how JYPE was trying something new with a self-formed team. You hadn't paid too much attention to it, you were busy enough with preparing for your own evaluations and the possibility of being included in what everybody had thought was a boys group hadn't even crossed your mind.
You had accepted the position almost immediately.
At that point, you had been a trainee for almost three years, but had only been considered for debut less than a handful of times. You knew with each line-up that hadn't worked out, you were closer to being forced to give up on the idea of becoming an idol. If you rejected the offer this time, you might not get another and you had been ready to do anything to achieve your dream.Â
Plus, you knew there was a high chance that they'd drop you from the group anyway. The position brought a lot of interest to the group, but you knew the company would be watching closely to determine whether it was worth the risk or not.Â
It had been a bit of a rocky start, but now the nine of you were close, you had to be when you spent most of your waking time together. You considered the boys to be your second family and you knew that they felt the same way.Â
It was just that there was clearly a difference in the dynamic when you were and werenât with the group. It wasnât necessarily bad just⌠different. The boys never excluded you or made you feel like you werenât part of the group and you had great individual relationships with each of the members.Â
It was inevitable though, you had never shared a dorm with the group, especially earlier in your career when you were less familiar and it would have been entirely unacceptable. You knew that this was the main reason you didnât feel quite as part of the group, there was just a level of closeness that was formed when you actually lived with someone.
Well, it was that and the nagging guilt because you knew that Chan had hand-picked every member of Stray Kids himself.
Every member except you.
While the members had promised that they were the ones who had the final say, you knew it wasn't quite what they had expected. All of you had been desperate to debut though and even if it wasn't ideal, nobody was going to say anything that might jeopardize this chance.
Still, you could tell that the boys did their best to include you and for the most part, they succeeded. Even early on when things had been a little bit awkward between you, they were fiercely protective. In interviews, they insisted over and over that they wanted you in the group and it had been nice to hear, even if you knew they were just saying it for the cameras.Â
They frequently invited you over for dinner or just to hang out, but you couldn't help feeling jealous when it was time for you to leave at the end of each night. It wasn't anything you could change though, so you just tried to appreciate their company while you had it.
So when the company brings up the idea of new dorm arrangements, you're surprised and a bit confused when they don't immediately inform you of where you'll be staying and kick you out of the meeting room. You've never participated in the discussions that the boys have regarding roommates, there has never been any reason to.Â
You're shocked by how easily things fall into place, even more so when Chan approaches you, asking if you'd feel comfortable living with him and Jeongin. They assure you that any of the pairings would be happy to have you stay with them though, and that they'd also understand if you preferred to live on your own.
You were hesitant at first. It had been out of the question when you had first debuted. Even if you and the boys had been comfortable with it, which you werenât, the company would have totally rejected the idea of one girl living with eight boys.
Instead, their solution had been to force you to remain in the trainee dorm even after your debut which meant constantly listening to jealous girls criticize anything and everything about you. It had been exhausting, partly because you were getting used to balancing schedules with practice, but also because you couldnât find it in yourself to be mad at them. You were all too familiar with the disappointment and frustration that came with watching the people around you succeeding.
You had briefly considered asking about sharing with the boys when the dorms had split in half because you knew you needed to get out of the toxic environment the other girls were creating, but then the company had offered you an apartment to yourself. It had been one of the easiest decisions you had ever made.Â
It had been too good to be true, though. The apartment had given you the privacy that you had craved, there were a multitude of issues that almost made you miss being in the trainee dorms. Whether you moved to a new apartment on your own or into one of the dorms with the boys, you knew that it would be an improvement.
Youâre curious what living with the boys would be like and honestly, youâre a bit lonely in your current apartment. It only takes a day or two of thinking before you confirm that youâd like to join them.
The moving process is quick too, at least for you. The boys offered to help you move, but you adamantly refused. Your place had been so tiny that you didn't have the space to store many things and you didn't like shopping that much anyway so all of your clothes fit into the couple of large suitcases that you kept under your bed. Since most of the furniture had come with the room, you were able to bring everything over to the new dorm before the boys had even finished packing.
It's hard to settle in at first. You don't have any siblings and have never had to live with boys so it takes some getting used to. Luckily both Chan and Jeongin are quite careful about being respectful of your space.Â
It's also a relief that you get to divide up some of the housework that you used to have to do all on your own. Even though it's not too much, it's nice to have more time in your day for other things and the three of you have developed a system that works well and feels natural.
Chan is meticulously clean and although you don't think you're that messy, youâre more careful to keep things in the right place. The worst part is that you know Chan won't complain or nag you if you leave your things around, he just quietly cleans up your messes which makes you feel both touched and a bit guilty.
You have no regrets about moving in with them, especially when you start to get more busy. It's nice to be living with people who have the same or similar schedules to you so you don't have to worry about losing track of time and being late to things.Â
Not only that, but you feel like you have more support. Jeongin reminds you to eat regular meals and Chan checks in when he notices that you're up later than usual. The three of you chat more than you did before and now have a number of different inside jokes.
You're especially grateful because you can already sense that this comeback is going to be hard on you. It's not the songs that have you concerned, all the recording finished smoothly and you're more than happy with how your parts turned out. You also really like the concept that's being proposed for the cover art and all the music videos.
It's the dance that's the problem.
As a trainee, you had always excelled in dancing and had actually had been assigned the role of main dancer in some of the girl groups that you were considered for. It made it especially hard to come to terms with the fact that when you had joined Stray Kids, you weren't even included in the dance line. You knew that your singing was nice and your voice added diversity to the group, but it had never been what you were most confident in and you felt inadequate compared to Seungmin and Jeongin.
But when it comes to this title track, it's especially obvious why you're not considered as one of the lead dancers. By lunchtime, everyone has memorized the moves, you included, but the choreography is definitely more suited for male dancers. No matter how much you focus on trying to match the style of everyone else, you're sticking out like a sore thumb.Â
Most of the members take a short break for lunch, but you're determined to keep practicing and Minho is willing to coach you through the parts that you're struggling with the most. On a technical level, you're hitting most of the moves, but you still haven't been able to do a runthrough that doesn't elicit at least a few corrections. You can tell that Minho is running out of patience and you're even more frustrated than he is.
Luckily the rest of practice is working on the different formations and angles for filming the music video, dance practice, and future performances. The details are less important and everyone is mainly focused on not crashing into each other.
You try to sneak in as many solo practice sessions as you can, but by the time filming for the dance practice rolls around, youâre still not feeling confident. In fact, youâve been dreading the schedule for days and you feel a little queasy every time you think about it. It's far from your first dance practice filming, but something about this one just feels more daunting.
The morning of filming, you force yourself to eat a decent breakfast, knowing that skipping it would just make dancing more difficult for yourself. Chan had woken up early to prepare a simple meal while you and Jeongin had helped set the table and clean up afterwards. You're a bit more jittery than usual and you're pretty sure both of the boys have noticed, but they don't comment which you appreciate.
Everyone goes through hair and makeup fairly quickly, there's no elaborate outfits and crazy makeup for a more casual video like this. Your bad feeling for today just worsens when you see that while the rest of the boys are in their usual loose fitting sweats and shirts, you've been given a tight fitting outfit that reveals a bit more of your midriff than you usually like to show off. Even though you can't deny that it's a flattering look, it just makes you self conscious, feeling like you stood out even more than you usually did standing beside the guys.
Determined to power through filming, you warm up as quickly as you can so that you can spend as much time as possible reviewing the moves with the rest of the boys before the crew finishes setting up.
Your stomach is a flurry of butterflies as you get in position to start filming, even though you know that usually the first try is a throwaway. Not only is this the first time filming for the day, but the group hasn't actually done a performance of your new single, only practices.
You monitor the recording carefully. There's a few things to improve with the camera angles and position, that was to be expected, but you still have the nagging feeling that something about your dancing doesn't match the rest of the group.
You try to make your movements bigger in the next run through, while still looking natural and staying in time with the music. It's not quite right though and each time you try again, there's more and more things that you're unhappy with.
You can tell the rest of the group isn't pleased with how things are going either. You've been doing this long enough that these dance practices usually only take a couple hours to record, but now it's been at least three and none of the takes have even been considered as a keeper. A few times you haven't even been able to make it to the end of the song before someone messes up.
Your choreographer is in the back of the room and although he hasn't explicitly called you out, you can feel his gaze on you the longer this takes.Â
âCome on guys,â Minho complains after a short break. âFocus! Let's get it done this time.â You watch as his eyes flicker towards where you're standing for the faintest of moments as he says it. It feels like a blow to the stomach.
You hate disappointing people, you're only human after all, but something feels even worse when you know it's the other members that you're letting down. Especially when it comes to dance, because you've always wanted to impress Minho and his notoriously high standards. The guilt sits heavy in your stomach as you push through your growing fatigue and take your position in front of the camera again.
As soon as both the director and choreographer announce that you're finished for the day, almost everybody collapses on the spot. One-takes are always the most exhausting and everybody has to focus on keeping their movements sharp because it's extremely obvious when you aren't in sync.
You, on the other hand, make your way to the screens where they're showing the playback. Sweat is dripping from your neck and forehead and you absent-mindedly swipe it away as you watch. Someone drapes a small towel over your head and you look over to see that Minho and Hyunjin have crowded behind you to take a look.
âIt's good,â one of the managers comments.
Instead of agreeing, Minho hums noncommittally. You feel yourself tense up.
âWhat?â the manager asks. âDon't tell me you want to do it again.â
âNo, no, it's fine.â Minho says mildly.Â
âWe can do another take,â the director offers. From behind him, one of the camera people groans quietly. You try not to wince at the sound and only partially succeed.
âI think this is the best we're going to get,â Minho replies, before he turns and walks back to where his things are, effectively ending the discussion.
âSorry for making everyone stay late,â you say quietly, bowing quickly before trailing after Minho. Hyunjin eyes you weirdly as he keeps pace.
âWhy'd you say that?â he asks as he packs his bag.
âI felt bad that they had to stay so long,â you say, confused. âWe normally tell them that if filming goes over.â
âNo.â Hyunjin pauses his movement to study you. You can't help but shrink away, feeling a bit like a bug under a microscope âWe normally thank them for their hard work. You made it sound like it was your fault.â
âIt's just been a long morning,â you deflect. âAre you heading back to the dorms now?â
âYeah.â He runs a hand through his wet hair, flicking sweat everywhere. âHave to shower and I have a bit of time before my vocal lesson. Want to head back together?â
âYou go ahead first,â you reassure him. âI have a couple things left to do at the company so I'll stick around for a bit longer.â
âSure. If you're finished early, feel free to drop by. We can have dinner or something together,â Hyunjin offers.
âSounds good! I don't know if I'll have time, but I'll definitely see I can join,â you promise.
Lying always leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but you know there's no way you're going to sacrifice time that you could be using to improve the dance just to hang out.
You stay late in the studio that night. Your only other schedule for the day is fittings for the music video and all the music shows, which finishes pretty quickly. Since you don't have much of an appetite anyway, you choose to skip Hyunjinâs dinner offer to continue practicing more. You had asked one of the managers to send you a copy of the dance practice and each time you replay it, the pit in your stomach seems to grow.
You lose track of time, picking apart each and every move to try and figure out what you're doing wrong. It's not until Minho knocks on the door and enters, startling you in the middle of yet another runthrough, that you realise how long you've been practicing.
âYou still have so much energy?â Minho calls out as he walks closer to you.
âJust had a few things I wanted to fix up before I went home,â you explain in between breaths.Â
âAnd?â
âAnd what?â you ask.
âDid you fix them?â he replies, raising an eyebrow as he scans your sweaty form and the empty room. âHave you been practicing this whole time? You've been here so long that even Channie-hyung went home. He asked me if you were at our place.â
âWhat? I-â
âIt's almost 2am,â he says gently. âIt's time to go home.â
âCan I do one more run through?â you ask sheepishly. âActually, itâs good that youâre here, I just want to make sure-â
âYou've been practicing long enough.â Minho's voice turns stern and he grabs your hand to lead you to the couch to sit. âDid you even eat?â
âI wasn't hungry,â you say quietly.
âY/n-ah,â Minho scolds you. âYou need to fuel your body if you're going to work it so hard, you know we've talked about this.â
âIâm sorry, I just wanted to practice more,â you say, staring down at your hands. Youâre not allowed to pick at your nails since you just got them done, so you settle for fidgeting with one of the rings that youâre wearing. The sharp edges of the gemstones prick at your fingers but you canât get yourself to stop. âI donât know whatâs wrong with me, I just couldnât get the dance right today. We had to film it so many times.â
âWhat are you talking about, Y/n-ah?â Minho asks, bewildered. âWe werenât- you werenât the reason we had to redo the dance so many times.â
You look up at him finally and donât see any of the annoyance that you were expecting. The concern and genuine confusion that you find instead catches you off guard.
âWhat? But- On our fourth take during the second chorus, my legwork was so sloppy compared-â
âHannie literally forgot which direction we were supposed to move and he almost knocked into me,â Minho interrupts. âThere was no way we were going to be able to use the footage, thatâs why we stopped early.â
âOh, I didnât notice.â
Minho taps a finger to his lips, deep in thought.
âFifth take, well that was my fault, so we're not going to talk about that. Sixth try, Yongbokkie and Innie both missed a cue and crouched later than everybody else, that one made me want to pull out my hair.â He shakes his head.
âThatâs when we took a break,â you realise.
âYeah, we were hoping it would help us have a clean run. Jinnie had sweated through his makeup and needed touch-ups anyway.â
âI thought you guys were annoyed at me,â you say in a small voice. âYou didn't seem happy with the final video.â
âIt wasn't my best take,â Minho admits. âI kind of wanted to do it again, but I didn't want you guys to have to stay even later.â
âDid you even see yourself?â You reach for your phone and unlock it to show the paused dance practice video. âLook, I've been trying to copy how fluid you moved in this part. See there? I looked so stiff compared to you, it's awful.â
âY/n-ah,â Minho says carefully.Â
âAnd look at this move,â you say, skipping ahead a couple seconds. âI couldn't quite-â
You cut yourself off mid-sentence when Minho leans forward to pluck your phone our of your hands and throw it off to the side. You don't even fight him, just stare with wide eyes, scared of what he's going to say next.Â
âYou were fine, you did well. But even if you did mess up, it's okay. This dance is tiring, it's challenging. We all have bad days and it's okay to make mistakes.â
When you donât say anything in response, he slowly moves closer and envelops you in a tight hug. You sniffle a little bit and when he starts to rub slow but firm circles onto your back, you can't stop the few tears that escape.
âHey, what's going through your mind, huh?â he asks in a low voice. âWhy are you being so hard on yourself?â
âI just don't want to let you guys down,â you say.
âY/n-ah, you're not letting us down if we have to do a few more takes on a dance practice,â Minho says incredulously. âIs that all that's been worrying you?â
âYeah,â you lie. âI was just nervous about filming the dance and disappointed when it didn't go like I wanted it to.â
âSilly girl,â Minho says, ruffling your hair affectionately. âYou're doing just fine. It's okay to be nervous, but you don't have to be pushing yourself so hard. Come on, it's time to go home, we have an early schedule tomorrow.â
You follow him meekly as he leads you out of the building and to where a driver is waiting to take you back to your dorm. Even though you feel a bit better knowing that you weren't the cause of the schedule overruns, you're still not satisfied with how you're dancing, but you know that it's pointless to pick a fight. Not only is Minho just as stubborn as you, he's not afraid to bring in reinforcements and you'd hate for the rest of the group to catch on to how you've been spending most of your free time. They already have enough to worry about, the last thing you want is to add to that.
Moving forward, you don't stop practicing, but you do take more care to try and pretend that it's not eating up all your free time. You stop using your favourite studio, you know the dance so well that most of the time you don't even have music playing, and you make sure not to stay out late enough that it's noticeable.
You start to feel a little silly with how much time you've devoted to this, significantly more than the rest of the members, especially when the music video filming goes by without a hitch. By the time the Studio Choom video is filmed, you're a lot more confident about the performance and even starting to enjoy yourself.
The rest of the preparations for the comeback start to fly by, especially after the album announcement goes live. There's not a day that goes by that's not filled with different photoshoots or interviews.
Before you know it, the album is released and even though your schedule is absolutely packed, you spend all your free time reading through comments and reactions. Maybe it was cliche to say, but you really did treasure hearing from Stays and comebacks were always when you felt closest to them. You especially liked being able to interact with them on a more personal level.
You were almost certain that you were the most active member on Bubble, you liked to send daily updates on what you were doing and reminders to Stay about maintaining their health. It did sting that you were also pretty certain that you had the least subscriptions and likely some of them only stuck around because you thought it was funny to send candid photos of the boys every so often.
You had always looked forward to fan signs the most though. Before you had debuted, you had loved seeing footage of the cute accessories, silly pick-up lines, and heartfelt messages from the fans. Not only that, but it was the only chance to speak to fans in person, even if it was only for a minute or two.
You were immensely grateful for everyone that supported you, but maybe it was your eager anticipation for fan signs that left you feeling so disappointed and empty. You had slowly grown used to Stays ignoring you for the boys, for always being the one that didn't receive any gifts to play with, for having the smallest stack of letters at the end of each event. But somehow you were always hopeful that the next time would be different.
Of course, it wasn't like you resented everybody else in the group. In fact, you were genuinely glad that they were enjoying themselves because they deserved it. They worked hard, were amazing performers and talented at creating music, and as a result, the fans loved them.
You, on the other hand, were just missing something, and it seemed that nothing you could do would change that. You had bounced through different positions, focused on vocals, dance, rap, music production, writing lyrics, and had enjoyed yourself thoroughly the whole time. If only the fans had liked it as much as you.
At least with fan calls, it wasn't as blatantly obvious that you were the least popular, least favourite member of the group. In fact, sometimes you were glad because you knew the boys often had crazy fans who had absurd or cringy requests while most of the time you spoke with someone who was politely feigning their interest.
It's almost funnier when the company sits you all down in the same room for the calls like they do today because you get to witness and subsequently tease the boys for the aegyo and silly poses they're forced to do. It's not like any of you can refuse anything the fans ask you to do, not with the staff breathing down your neck the whole time.
As expected, most of your calls are fairly generic and you're grateful for it. You have easy conversations about the album, which dances are your favourite, and you get to share some stories from the tour that you recently finished. You're maybe halfway through the calls when things start to take a turn for the worst.
âI even think that you would have done great as a solo artist! Are you thinking of releasing any solo music soon?â the girl that you're talking to asks excitedly.
âOh, thank you.â You smile back even though the innocent question makes your chest ache for some reason. âI- well, solo music-â You take a deep breath to gather your thoughts. âI don't know about the future, but right now I really can't imagine releasing anything other than music as a part of Stray Kids. I love working and performing with the rest of the members and I wouldn't want to change anything.â
It's how you actually feel, but you can't help the way that your eyes dart over to check on the staff member that's supervising your call. You feel a bit better when you see their nod of approval and try to focus on the fan to finish the rest of the conversation.
Thankfully you get a quick break before the next call. You know the fan was probably trying to be encouraging, she had started off the call praising your skills and was probably just curious. Still, there's a voice in your mind that tells you that she'd prefer it if you weren't a member of Stray Kids. Or rather, she'd prefer that Stray Kids didn't have you in it.
You try to bring a positive mindset into your next call, but it's with a Stay thatâs decidedly less interested in talking to you. You exchange greetings and make small talk until she seems to get an idea that makes her sit up straight all of a sudden.
âI have a question for you,â she says, eyes glinting in a way that makes you a little nervous, even though you're not sure why.
âGo ahead,â you encourage her because you're mostly feeling a bit relieved that she's finally showing some emotion other than boredom.
âWhich of the boys would you say is best in bed?â she asks slyly.
You stare at her dumbly, thinking that you must have misheard her.
âSorry,â you say, laughing uncomfortably. âI don't- I don't think I understand your question.â
âYou heard me,â she scoffs. âWhat's the point in having you in the group if you're not sleeping with at least some, if not all of them?â
âNo, I- It's not like that, I don't-â Flustered, you stare desperately at the staff, hoping they'll step in and end the call. Instead they just motion for you to continue. âI mean, we're close, but not-â
âIf you want, you can just tell me your favourites,â she giggles, as if she's just asked you what songs on the album you liked. âIt must be either Chan or Jeongin, if you decided to live with them.â
âNo!â you exclaim.
âSo it's not either of them?â she says, tapping a finger against her lip in thought.
âThat's not the kind of relationship we have.â
Mortified, you find that you're tearing up a bit. You've heard the theories before, know that there's a lot of gossip and rumours because you're in a group of men, but you've never been outright accused to your face like this.
From the corner of your blurry field of vision, you see Seungmin wave bye to whoever he's talking to. He must hear the distress in your voice because he glances over, then does a double-take when he sees just how bad you're doing.
âWhat's going on?â he demands, stalking over. Before the staff can do anything to stop him, he leans forward and disconnects the call without a warning. âWhy didn't you do anything, isn't it obvious that somethingâs wrong?â
âY/n-ssi was handling it,â the staff member says. âItâs not fair to the fans if you cut a call short without reason.â
âNo reason? Do you have eyes?!â Seungmin motions to where you're surreptitiously trying to blot away the tears without smudging your makeup. He's gotten the attention of everyone in the room now, even the members who are still in calls and have to pretend nothing is happening in the background. You can only hope that the phones aren't able to pick up anything being said.
âMin,â you say, voice barely above a whisper as you tug on his sleeve lightly. He glances back at you, eyes softening slightly. âIt's okay, I'm fine.â
You're grateful that he's stood up for you, but all the scrutiny is getting a bit overwhelming. You just want to move on and pretend nothing happened because the last thing that you want is for the company to think you're a liability who can't even handle a nosy fan.
Seungmin crouches in front of you and studies you carefully. You're still clutching onto the sleeve of his sweater. You take a deep breath to compose yourself, then give him a watery smile.
âI was just being really sensitive today, I promise,â you plead. âJust let it go.â
He starts to say something, then cuts himself off, eyes watching something happening over your shoulder.
âLet's just take a quick break from the calls,â Chan says evenly. You didn't even notice that he came up being you and is standing behind you protectively. âWe'll be back in 10 minutes.â
It's a command, not a suggestion, something that the staff would normally push back against, but for some reason they stay quiet, allowing the nine of you to filter out of the room unimpeded.
Nobody says anything until you find an unoccupied dance studio. Minho is quick to lock the door after you all pile in.
âHey,â Seungmin says softly from where he's been stuck to your side. âYou holding up okay?â
âYeah, I don't know what happened. I'm fine now,â you say.
âAre you sure?â Felix asks from where he's sitting on your other side.
âReally, it was nothing,â you assure him.
âIf you were upset, then it's something,â Seungmin insists. âWe promise we won't think it's silly or anything. It's probably something we've all heard before anyway.â
You have to turn away from the way that he's looking at you with his huge, pleading eyes. But the rest of the group is also gathered around, concern lining their faces.
âShe implied that the only reason I'm in the group is because I'm sleeping with all you,â you say stiffly, regretting it immediately when you feel both Seungmin and Felix freeze in place. âWhich obviously is not true, so it's not a big deal.â
âY/n, you know that's unacceptable, right?â Chan says slowly, through what sounds like gritted teeth. You finally tear your eyes away from where you've been staring at the patterns that you can see in the grain of the wooden flooring, to see that his jaw is clenched, neck muscles pulled tight.Â
âFans say inappropriate things all the time, it's not like I haven't read things like that before. It comes with the job.â You shrug.
âThat doesn't make it okay. This is serious. You shouldn't have to-â Chan cuts himself off when he notices that he's started to raise his voice and just pinches the bridge of his nose.
âListen, I know. I just- I don't want this to be a big commotion. It sucks, I didn't respond well, whatever, let's move on,â you say. âShe's going to post about it online, but in a few days, nobody is going to remember anyway.â
âHyung, can't we just end the call if they do anything inappropriate?â Changbin complains.
âYou know that we can't,â you remind him before anybody else can say anything. âIt's part of our contract.â
âI hate these stupid fan calls!â Hyunjin passionately declares from where he's sprawled out on the floor. âChannie-hyung, can we just cancel the rest of them?â
âDon't say that,â you scold him mildly. âYou love fan calls the most out of all of us.â
âI love some of them,â he argues back. âBut not if that's the way you're going to be treated during them. Plus, if another person asks me to call them mommy then I'm actually going to quit being an idol.â
âEw, your fans are weird.â Jisung wrinkles his nose in disgust.
âThey're your fans too!â Hyunjin shoots back.
âOkay,â Chan claps his hands together a couple times before things devolve further. âUnfortunately, we do have to continue with the rest of the calls and we can't delay things too much. It's time to head back.â
There's a bit of casual chatter as everybody heads back, but you can tell everyone is still feeling a bit tense. Seungmin only releases your hand when he absolutely has to and you squeeze a couple times before you let go to try and reassure him that you're going to be fine.
The second you sit down, a makeup artist descends on you, tutting her tongue when she sees that you've accidentally wiped away some of your eyeshadow. You obediently stay still, watching as Chan approaches your table too, stopping to lean down and say something in the ear of the staff member that has been monitoring you. The blood slowly drains from her face and she nods rapidly in agreement with whatever he tells her. He claps a hand on her shoulder and even though it's a light and friendly gesture, you can see the way she flinches slightly.
You raise an eyebrow when he looks your way and he just smiles innocently in return and makes his way back to his seat. You don't comment, not even when you notice that the staff's fingers are trembling so hard that it takes her a couple tries to connect you to the next call. You know that it's not her fault, she's just following instructions from the company after all, but you're not feeling very sympathetic at the moment.
Instead, you just try to focus and take on an upbeat persona in the hopes that nobody realises how upset you truly feel. You're hurt and a bit wary of what the fans might do next, but you don't want to take it out on the people who havenât done anything to you yet.
Fortunately, the rest of the calls are rather uneventful and you leave the company feeling drained, but not as terrible as you had expected.
You spend the rest of the day thinking about what you could have done differently, how you could have handled the call more gracefully, what kind of answer you should give if something similar ever happens again. But no matter what, you just get stuck pitifully thinking to yourself that it's not fair, you shouldn't have to deal with these kinds of questions in the first case. You're sure the company will give you a briefing and some scripted lines tomorrow anyway, so it's probably for the best that you just try to pretend nothing happened at all.
That evening, you try your best to avoid social media, but you knew that some of the other boys had seen videos based on the stormy expression on Jeongin's usually smiley face when you got home and the way that Chan comes back from the gym with more bruises than usual from his boxing session with Minho and Changbin.
They never say anything, but they have been extra careful around you. Chan has brought home your favourite takeout without you asking and Jeongin jumps up to clean up the second that everyone has finished eating. After you decline to watch a drama with them, you can hear one of them pacing past your bedroom every few minutes, pausing right outside your door before continuing on.
You have just decided to muster up the courage to actually watch the recording of the video, it was embarrassingly easy to find one, when Seungmin video calls you. You immediately click away from where your own stupid looking shocked face is paused on screen to answer because you know Seungmin knows that you prefer to text unless it's an emergency.
âHey,â you greet him warily. âWhat's up?â
âFelix is trying to kill me,â Seungmin complains.
âWhat now?â
âJust look!â
Seungmin changes to his back camera to reveal their kitchen, which is littered with baking supplies and seems almost hazy for some reason.
âIs that smoke?â you ask, sitting up in bed.
âI said not to film!â Felix's voice comes from somewhere outside of the frame. Seungmin pans over dizzyingly fast to show where he's crouched in front of the oven, streaks of flour smudged on his clothes and in his hair.
âI'm not filming,â Seungmin comments, unbothered by the fact that Felix is pulling out a pan of what looks like they should be cookies but look alarmingly similar to lumps of coal. âI'm on a call. Show Y/nnie what you made,â he prompts.
âWhat?? Noooo,â Felix whines. âY/n don't look!â
âWhat are those supposed to be?â you laugh.
âI wanted to make something to cheer you up,â Felix says miserably. Seungmin cackles, moving the camera closer so that you first get a close-up of Felix's face, then a better look at the burnt baking sheet. You keel over, stomach starting to hurt from how hard you're laughing. âI was trying to clean up while they baked and didn't hear the timer go off.â
âWell I appreciate the thought,â you say, when you can finally catch a breath. âAnd you definitely succeeded in making me feel better. Didn't the fire alarm go off?â
âWe just got it to stop,â Seungmin says, switching the camera so that you can see his face again. âIt's freezing in here now, we had to open all the windows to air out the place.â
âYou poor things,â you coo, leaning back onto your bed now that you aren't concerned that they're in immediate danger. âDo you want to come over to our place?â
âI want to, but someone has to make sure that sunshine over here doesn't burn anything else.â Seungmin rolls his eyes, making you laugh again. You hear Felix yell something in the background. âI just wanted a witness in case I don't make it to our schedule tomorrow. I think I gotta go.â
âYeah, I think you'll be busy cleaning up the rest of the night. See you tomorrow!â
You end the call, plunging your room back into darkness. You lie on your bed for a few moments before unlocking your phone again.
Even though you knew that it wasn't wise, like clockwork you found yourself scrolling through social media after every comeback. It used to be worse, when you had been living alone and would spend countless hours curled up on your tiny bed, face only illuminated by your phone.Â
The rest of the members all know that you had private social media accounts, they all had them too even though you technically weren't allowed to. What they didn't know was how many nights you had wasted away, watching funny compilations, reaction videos, and analysis of performances. Sometimes, it even felt like you were subconsciously searching for the negative comments, wanting to understand better the mindset of the haters.
It was an old, but bad habit, so you had tried your best to stop once you moved in with Chan and Jeongin. But tonight you just couldn't sleep. After wandering into the kitchen to get yourself a glass of water, you end up getting distracted by your Youtube recommendations.
You don't know what kind of strings the company pulled, but by some miracle, there's no clips of your disastrous fan call circulating any more, although there were still a lot of people talking about it.
There had been mixed comments. Some of the clips had excluded the terrible questions and people commented on how bad your media training must have been, but a majority of people were furious on your behalf and complained about how out of bounds the comment had been.Â
You should be relieved that the videos have been taken down and you are to a certain extent, but just a couple days ago the dance practice that haunted you had been posted. Just one more thing to worry about. As you feared, while a majority of the comments were nice, there's already people picking apart your performance, comparing you to the boys.Â
You click from one comment to another, then move onto fan made videos, inevitably falling down a rabbit hole of the many edits that exist where you had been cropped out or digitally removed. It was almost mesmerizing, watching videos of how well the group worked without you, how natural it looked to see what it would have looked like if it was just the eight of them. Some nights, you could almost forget that the edits were exactly that, edits and not the reality.
âHey,â Chan interrupts. He is obviously trying his best not to scare you, but you were startled anyway, dropping your phone on the counter. âWhat are you up to so late?â
âIt's nothing,â you said quickly, fumbling to lock your phone so that he canât see the video thatâs playing, but Chan had scooped it up before you had the chance to pick it back up.
âWhat's this-â You could see the moment that he pieced things together, the way that even in the dim lighting you could tell how his brow had furrowed and his hand had tightened around your phone. âHow come you're not in these videos?â
âHm?â
âYou were definitely in this performance,â Chan says, studying the paused screen. âYou're supposed to be⌠They removed you.â He finally realises with horror. âWhy are you watching garbage like this?â
âI just want to know what Stay are thinking.â You shrug. âI saw this video and couldn't help but watch. Itâs not a big deal, I was just curious.â
âThey're not Stay if they're not supporting the whole group!â Chan startles you with the sharpness of his voice. He catches sight of your wide eyes and softens his tone. âSorry, I just hate akgaes and seeing these kind of posts.â
âOh come on,â you say. âYou're telling me that you've never thought about what the group would be like if you weren't being dragged down by me?â
âDragged down- Y/n-â
âDon't lie to me, oppa. I know you've seen what people are saying about the group, about me. Have you seen some of these edits? Stray Kids looks good as eight,â you admit.
âIâm not lying! None of us would want to be making music or performing without you,â Chan insists.
âYou don't have to say that just to not make me feel bad.â You shake your head.
âWeâve been together from the start, why would I have chosen you to be a part of Stray Kids if I didn't actually want you to be on the team?â Chan asks, sounding frustrated, but also genuinely curious.
âBecause the company added me to the team at the last minute?â you say, as if it's obvious. Because to you, and basically everybody else, it is. âI know I wasn't part of the group that you picked. It's okay-â
âWhat are you talking about? You know that I chose you too, right?â he asks slowly.Â
âBut the company-â
âThey couldnât have just added you to the group without our say.â
âNo, I know that you guys agreed it to, but-â
âY/n-ah, we didn't just agree to it. They told me they wanted us to consider adding a female member to Stray Kids. We thought about it and said yes. I was the one who wanted that member to be you.â
You stare at him, dumbfounded.Â
âWhat?â
âWhy are you so surprised? I saw your evaluations, you were one of trainees strongest in dance, probably the only one that could keep up with us, your singing has always been stable, and I know that based on your personality and work ethic, you would get along well with the rest of us. It was the obvious choice.â
âOh.â Is all you can say, mind racing.
âYou really thought the company just added your name onto the roster and we went along with it?â
âI don't know, I guess so?â you say sheepishly. âI was just so grateful to debut, it didn't matter at the time. It felt so out of the blue.â
âYou know that one of the reasons that JYP didn't have you on that many of the girl group line-ups was because he was considering making you a solo artist, right?â
âHuh? There's no way,â you immediately deny. âNobody ever mentioned that-â
âHe told me when I brought up your name to add to the group. I guess they never wanted to get your hopes up.â
âI thought they were going to drop me soon,â you admit, scratching at the back of your neck. âI uh, I thought maybe I would do at most one more year of training and then move back in with my family. I had even started filling out university applications to keep my options open.â
âY/n, you were consistently having amazing evaluations, you were being praised so much by everyone. Why would you doubt yourself?â
âThree years as a trainee and nothing to show for it. You know what it was like, how hard it was to see people come and go. It didn't matter how great my evaluations were if I never got to debut.â
âBut-â
âDon't tell me that you never thought about quitting. Oppa, I thought that you of all people would understand what it was like.â You hate the way that your voice cracks.
âI thought about it all the time,â Chan says. âSorry, I didn't mean it like that.â
âIt's fine,â you mumble.
âY/n-ah,â Chan asks tentatively, like he's afraid to learn the answer. âAll these years that we've been together, did you really think we didn't want you?â
âYes? Well, not really. I didn't think you guys disliked having me in the group per se, I just always thought that maybe you would like it more if I wasn't? And I guess it didn't help that there are a lot of people who thought the same way.â
âI'm sorry we didn't reassure you more.â Chan runs a hand through his hair in frustration. âHow did we not see that you felt this way?â
âBecause I didn't want you to? It's not like it was your fault anyway, I was just overthinking.â
âYou know we're going to have to make it up to you, right?â Chan says, looking a little mischievous.Â
âOh please no,â you say, backing away nervously thinking of how much coddling and smothering you're about to endure. You're pretty sure you're already one of the members that's doted on the most. âThings are good as they are.â
âNope, I refuse.â Chan approaches you, reaching out and catching your wrist so that you can't get away. âWe're going to give you so much love that you're not going to doubt yourself ever again.â
âNo!â you squeal, trying to tug away from his grip. âI already-âÂ
The rest of your sentence gets cut off as Chan pulls you into an embrace and your face gets smashed against his shoulder. He squeezes you tightly and contrary to your words, you just relax into his hold.
âWhat are you guys doing? You're being so loud.â
Both you and Chan freeze, then turn to stare as Jeongin shuffles into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes with his hair all mussed up. You turn back to Chan for a second before he replies.
âJust having a bit of a heart to heart, Innie. Come here, join us,â he invites.
âUgh, why would I want to hug either of you?â Jeongin complains, wrinkling his nose before immediately walking over and enveloping both of you in his arms.
Even though you know you're going to have to leave for a schedule in a matter of hours, with both Chan and Jeongin's arms wrapped tight around you, you feel lighter than you have in months. You feel secure, at ease, and finally, like you've found a home in these boys.

âI want a baby.â
Usually youâd be sitting across from your head-over-heels, doting, caring husband that would be willing to do anything for you whilst having this conversation. Itâs an important decision after all, having a baby and taking care of it, having the finances to dote on your child. Itâd be nice⌠except for the fact you donât have a husband, or a boyfriend for that matter.
Instead, youâre sitting across from five men, currently lumped together uncomfortably on your couch, staring at you with slight bewilderment in their eyes. It was your best shot, inviting them over.Â
Besides, youâd decided that it was the spring season that had caught you in its snare. Going out to a cafe, taking a stroll in the park, perusing a bookstore; babies were everywhere. It hadnât bothered you so much until youâd set your eyes on one of the cutest, chubbiest babies youâd ever seen, its little hand curling around your finger when youâd been waiting in line to buy your book.Â
Yeah⌠youâd gotten baby fever.
âA baby?â Rafayel asks, his brows raising, âare- are you even ready for a baby?â
âIâve thought about it,â you reply, fingers fidgeting nervously in your lap, your eyes drifting across each of them, âa lot. I even made a short presentation if any of you would like to-â
Zayne shakes his head subtly and you sink back down into the chair, having gotten up half-way.
âI am ready,â you breathe out finally, âIâm not getting any younger and I just think itâd be nice, yâknow? I wouldnât feel so lonely anymore.â
âWhyâd you invite all of us over at once?â Caleb asks, his hands folding behind his head, drawing a sound of annoyance from Xavier who he elbows in the process.
âI didnât want to have the conversation five times,â you sigh, âbesides, I figured none of you would actually agree to this. I mean, itâs sort of crazy. Do I sound crazy?â
âMaybe a little frantic,â Sylus muses, propping his elbow up on the armrest of your couch, his head tilting lazily to watch you.
âThere are other options,â Zayne offers, âother than what youâre proposing. I could help you look, if you wanted. I know someone I went to medical school with, maybe they could help?â
You flush lightly, shaking your head. âI um- I want to do it naturally,â you squeak out, cheeks growing hotter when you spy the grin on Calebâs face. âLess- less complications that way, which is why I decided to ask all of you.â
âWell,â Caleb yawns, stretching his arms above his head, managing to knock one against Xavierâs head again, âIâm in.â
âWhat?â you sputter, staring at him with wide eyes. âYou- you canât just agree! I had a whole thing planned and we still need to go over agreements about how this is going to work.â
âIâm not just going to disappear once you have the baby,â Caleb sighs, staring at you, his gaze never wavering. âIf we do this, weâre doing it together.â
âOh,â you say, sitting back in your chair, âwell if thatâs what youâd like, but I donât want you to feel obligated or anything.â
âObligated?â Sylus interrupts, raising his brows, âSweetie, if you decide to have one of our kids, we arenât going to abandon you to handle everything on your own. Itâs as much of our decision as it is yours.â He pauses for a moment, crossing his arms over his chest. âWith that being said, I also accept your proposal.â
âYou do?â you ask, your head tilting. âWouldn't the two of you be overkill? I really think one of you agreeing is enough-â
âIt wouldnât be fair,â Xavier pitches in finally, having had enough of being squished on the couch as he stands up, sending a brief glare towards Caleb. âIt wouldnât be fair,â he repeats, shifting on his feet, âif only the two of them got to have you. Besides, you said it was up to us to decide.â
Was he jealous? Maybe youâd dug yourself in a little too deep. Youâd had fleeting moments with each of them, shared lazy kisses every now and then, had a few of their heads buried between your thighs on some nights, but nothing serious⌠especially not this serious.
âSo all three of you,â you look pointedly at Caleb, Sylus and Xavier, âwant to help?â
âYes,â is the unanimous reply.
âI canât have sex with all three of you!â you protest, looking at each of them, âI mean, I could but thatâs besides the point!â
âYouâll have to alternate between us,â Zayne supplies, adjusting his glasses, his lithe fingers pushing them up to sit more securely on the bridge of his nose. The action distracts you for a moment, your mind conjuring up the memory of those very fingers sinking inside of your pussy only a few weeks ago when heâd been pent up and youâd been eager to help.
âRight,â you reply as though the situation made complete sense and nothing about this entire thing was crazy. âAlternate- wait,â you pause, your eyes flicking over to meet Zayneâs. âUs?â you echo, âwhat do you mean âusâ?â
âUs,â Zayne says simply.
âUs- us as in you included?â you ask, voice pitching upwards with how incredulity takes hold of you, part of you hoping that your faith in the english language was now failing you.
âYes,â he replies, his head tilting to take in your expression. âI am the most⌠qualified for this position.â
âThis isnât a job interview!â you snap, glaring at him, before pointing at the others accusingly, âand you are all way too eager to agree!â
âWeâre helping you out,â Caleb counters, turning his attention to Zayne, âand what do you mean by qualified? You just have to cum inside of her.â
You wince at his crude words.
âI often see children during my rounds in the wards,â Zayne says coolly, âI donât see you handling any children while you fly your plane around.â
âOh, fuck off,â Caleb mutters, sending Zayne a glare.
âOkay,â you pitch in, hoping to ease some of the tension. âRafayel?â you say, eyes focusing on the purple-haired man whoâs been watching the situation unfold with amusement, âIâm glad you havenât said anything, because four is more than eno-â
âWho said I didnât agree?â he asks, raising his brows, âIâd be the odd one out, wouldnât I? As Xavier said, thatâd hardly be fair.â
âSo what youâre all telling me, is that youâre all ready for a baby?â you ask bluntly, tilting your head skeptically. âBecause I feel like none of you have thought this through.â
âWeâre just giving you the best chance of having a baby,â Xavier says, meeting your skepticism with his own bluntness.
âFine,â you breathe out, your eyes flitting across each of the handsome men. Youâd be lying if you werenât somewhat excited about the idea. âYouâre all accepted.â
âGreat,â Sylus says, standing up.
Your eyes widen when he approaches you, his arm tugging you to your feet, before wrapping around your waist.
âWhat are you-â
Your voice is muffled when he slots his lips over yours. You make a noise of protest until he presses closer, your eyes fluttering shut at the soothing stroke of his thumb against your cheek. A soft whine escapes you, arms sliding up to wrap around his neck, your lips working against his eagerly.
âWhat the fuck are you doing?â Caleb snaps.
You squeak when youâre pulled away from Sylus, arms reaching out to grab for him, only for Caleb to swat your hands away, sending you an equally harsh glare.
âI thought we were getting started,â Sylus drawls, his eyes flashing with a hint of disdain. âIâm not one to sit around and watch.â
Caleb snaps out a retort and your shoulders sag as you watch the two men begin to argue.
âAre you sure you wanna have a baby with one of them?â Rafayel asks, his voice hushed as he sidles up to you. âThey seem awfully⌠ill-tempered.â
You blink up at him, face falling. âDo you think thatâll affect the baby?â
Rafayel nods, putting on a grave disposition until you see Zayne roll his eyes.
âWeâll alternate,â Zayne says, rubbing his temples, âlike I said. Itâs the fairest way and none of your egos will get hurt in the process. We can draw numbers to figure out the order.â
You end up scrawling the numbers one to five on a piece of paper, ripping them up before scrunching them, so they canât see whatâs written on the paper.
âTake your pick,â you offer, opening your hands up for each one of them to choose a crumpled piece of paper.
You stare at each of them expectantly as they open up the pieces of paper, rocking up on your toes to peek over Xavierâs shoulder.Â
Two.
Well, you could handle that. You smile up at him and he smiles back, dipping his head quickly to kiss your cheek.
âYou have got to be fucking kidding me,â Caleb groans staring down at his paper.
âDid you place last?â Rafayel asks smugly, waving his paper around as though he had won the lottery. âIâm first!â
âAsshole,â Caleb grouses, ripping up his paper agitatedly, âthird.â
You turn your attention to Zayne and Sylus, raising your brows.
âFourth,â Zayne says, tucking his paper away neatly into the pocket of his trousers.
You swallow nervously, glancing towards Sylus. He gives you a devilish grin in return, flipping his paper to show you the messily scribbled five.Â
âYouâre not⌠mad about it?â you ask tentatively.
âWhy should I be?â Sylus asks, running a hand through his snowy hair, the strands falling across his forehead prettily, âIt just means that I get to spend the longest with you.â
Well, that sounds more like a threat than anything. You werenât a stranger to Sylusâ ways, youâd spent a few nights in his bed, face shoved into the pillows while youâd sobbed and cried pathetically with every snap of his hips against your ass.Â
âRight,â you clear your throat, hoping your voice doesnât betray your nervousness.
Your gaze drifts over each man. Smug Rafayel, mellow Xavier, disgruntled Caleb, stoic Zayne and devilish Sylus.
Yeah, you think, you were definitely in for it.

Finding a photo of his ex
Sylus x Non-MC
summary: a painful break up with your ex left you insecure, like you were never enough no matter what you do. then Sylus came to mend your heart. but when you found out who his past girlfriend was, you're left thinking: will he be like your ex?
tags: insecurities, exes zayne and non-mc, slight angst, comfort, fluff, sweet bf sylus, not set in LADS universe, VERY OOC Zayne description
note: SORRY ZAYNE I LOVE YOU PLS FORGIVE ME
taglist: @animegamerfox @lazypostfandomer
It was an accident. You were rummaging in Sylus's storage room looking for some books to pass by some time. You found one that piqued your interest; the book is squished under one of the old boxes obviously forgotten you pulled it out and looked over the pages.
As you were skimming, a photograph fell to the floor. When you picked it up and examined the photo your breath hitched when your eyes saw a familiar woman.
In the photo, she is grinning from ear to ear while Sylus gives her hand a kiss.
It was MC with Sylus.
This is not the first time you encountered her. Since she is a woman you know too well. The very woman who is the reason for your insecurities. The same woman who stole your previous boyfriend away.
You took a deep breath trying to calm yourself down. You knew that Sylus had a previous relationship. He knew about your past as well but you didn't expect that MC would be his ex.
Well, you didn't ask, that's one thing. But life seems to just like playing with you. Seeing her face again brought back bitter memories and little seeds of doubt started sprouting in your heart.
You didnât mean to fall for another one of MCâs ghosts.
Zayne was first. Quiet, reserved, and soft spoken Doctor Zayne. You remembered chasing him back then. Asking to get noticed, being overly happy when given a mere glance. So when he relented and gave you a âchance" you wasted no time and showed him how much you love him.
At first, it was okay. You keep telling yourself that it's just the way he is and in no time, he will open up to you and let his walls break down but that didn't happen.
Not with you, at least.
Because when you saw him one time laughing and smiling with his childhood friend, suddenly everything just made sense.
What you were begging for him to do with you comes so naturally for him when it comes to her.
Lunch with you in the office? Nope, too unprofessional. But with MC, he would even go as far as cooking for the both of them.
Dinner after work? He's too tired to even lift a leg. But wouldn't mind driving to go to her place when she asked him to.
One social media post about you? Oh hell nah. He is not a social media person anyway. But would occasionally post their arcade escapades with a sassy caption.
You confronted him about it, but he just told you that it meant nothing. That she is a childhood friend nothing more and that she has a boyfriend.
But you knew that he was lying of course. You spent ages trying to learn him and loving him. You saw how his eyes had that air of sadness and anger when says that MC already has a boyfriend.
It was not a surprise when he started spending less time with you when the news of MC and her boyfriend broke up. Of course he'd be there.
But the more he kept choosing to be with her, the more you started spiralling to sadness as well.
You kept trying and trying to keep him by your side. Being the docile girlfriend that he needs. Never demanding, never yelling, never crying.
You held onto him long enough to believe he might look back.
But he never did.
So you let him go.
Or maybe he let you go first, you didn't know.
The break up became more of a relief for him and that's what struck the most. A part of you hoped he would at least feel remorseful and maybe even regret but there is none.
So you left. But with more insecurities as ever.
Was it really that hard for him to love you?
Was there anything you didn't do?
Why was it easy for him to just let you go and leave like you didn't matter?
Did he really love you or did he just get in a relationship with you to stop you from chasing him like a wild dog?
You ponder over it for a year or two. Just accepting that maybe you're just no match for her and guys like Zayne would always, always choose a woman like her over a woman like you. Because of that you swore to never love again.
Then came Sylus.
Rough, loud, reckless Sylus, who didnât ask you to be anything. The same Sylus who didn't force you to return his feelings when he figured that you weren't ready yet and let you at your own pace.
Sylus who became the receiving end of your insecurities but gently kissed all the doubts away. Sylus who made you feel like loving again doesn't sound bad as it seems.
With him, the ache didnât fade to zero but it stopped owning you.
Not until you saw this photo.
You have been doing a good job of reigning over the dark thoughts brought by your past but seeing this just makes you question everything.
Sylus never gave you a chance to doubt him. He showed you every day that his eyes are set on you and you alone. That no matter how many women fawn over him, he will always choose you.
But because of this stupid photo, you're seeing yourself as that same woman five years ago. Pathetic and a loser content with just a scrap of affection from her boyfriend.
The boyfriend who will choose the same woman in this damned photo over and over again.
You knew Sylus isn't like that.
Right?
But a voice in your head tells you that it will only take a matter of time before he realizes that she is the better option. That you are not worth wasting his time for. That once the opportunity presents itself, he will toss you aside like Zayne did just so he can run to her.
Sobs broke out of your lips and the photo on your hand is already crumpled by how much you're gripping it.
Just the thought of Sylus giving you that cold dismissive look made your heart shatter. It didn't help when the memory of you breaking up with Zayne and he had the audacity to be relieved kept popping in your head but this time, Sylus's face was in it.
It had been five years since that night. But everything is still fresh. Everything is still vivid. You don't know where Zayne is. You're not gonna bother finding out anyway.
But you're in the same city and Sylus crossing paths with MC is not impossible.
What if he sees her and thinks that he's wasting time with you?
What if he is with you out of pity because of how miserable you were before?
Your head is aching at all the thoughts swirling in your mind.
ââ Sweetie?â Sylus's voice took you out of your haze. "What's happening?â
He looks at your tears streaked face and he quickly gathers you in his arms, grounding you back to reality. You sobbed in his chest holding him tightly. Silently begging for him not to go.
He took your hand and gently removed the photo from your grip, throwing it away on the floor. Connecting two and two together.
âI'm sorry, darling. Should've thrown that away. I didn't know it's still there." You feel him kissing your head and rubbing your back trying to make you stop from crying.
âP-please, please, don't leave me for her," you whimpered. âI'll do everything ⌠anything. Just don't go."
You held him tighter while hoping and begging.
You felt him stiffen and you brace yourself for the worst. Maybe this is the part that he tells you that he will still leave. Maybe it's a good thing that you finally gave him a way out of this relationship just like what Zayne did.
He cupped your cheeks and looked at you with such bewilderment. âWhere is this coming from? I'm not leaving you, sweetie. Never in a million years."
Fresh set of tears fell from your eyes again.
âB-but it's her. Everyone chooses her.â You replied.
Sylus isn't strange to the fact that your ex left you as a mess. He was there to help you pick up the broken pieces after all. He still wants to beat up your ex for being such an asshole.
But hearing you say those words, a realization occurred to him.
"Her? You mean the woman you told me about was MC?"
You nodded your head.
"My sweet little darling,â he wiped your tears away. "Try not to worry about it, okay? I won't leave you. I would die before anyone could take me away from your side. I love you. I love you so much.â
You yelped when suddenly his strong arms are lifting you up carrying you, transporting you back to the living room and settling in the couch making you sit on his lap.
âThe best days of my life are with you, sweetie. I'd be a fool to let you go." He said. Your heart thumping at the sincerity in his tone. âYou are perfect for me. The one I've been waiting for my whole life. Even if the women from my past come back and try to take me, I will always choose you. I will always stay with you for as long as you want me to."
You looked at his eyes. Trying to find deception and lies. But all there was was his overwhelming sincerity. You're trying hard not to believe him, but there is something in his gaze that begs you to have faith in him.
âDon't say that," you said almost above a whisper.
âHmm why not?" He said with a little teasing in his voice sensing the shift in your mood.
âI might not let you go if you keep telling me those things."
A low chuckle escaped his lips. "Is that so? Then allow me to shower you with assurance so you'll hold me tight, sweetie.â
He held one of your cheeks and looked you straight to the eyes, âI love you. I'm not like your ex. I won't leave. You're not a burden to me, darling. As long as I'm alive, you're wanted here in my heart, sweetie.â
When he leaned closer to kiss your lips, you held on to him tightly pulling him closer as you answered his kisses. One by one, all your doubts were washed away.
Every brush of his lips against yours is a confession of his love, his loyalty. One that you have never felt before in your previous relationship.
âI love you, Sylus." You said in between kisses. It made him groan and kiss you more fervently.
As Sylus held you tenderly, softly caressing you and kissing you gently, you feel a part of you getting healed.
As your bodies collide, he reminds you that for him you are enough.
And maybe that's all you needed. To feel loved, cherished and assured that no matter how perfect she might be, someone will choose you within a heartbeat.
Thoughts? Comments? Lemme hear â¤ď¸ luv u! Hope u enjoyed.

IâM NOT HIM
rafe cameron x fem!reader

( mood board does NOT depict readers appearance !! )
SUMMARY: in which rafe snaps at reader during a heated argument and she flinches, her past trauma resurfacing. rafe breaking the main promise he made to her: to not be anything like her father.
based on an ask i got that i lost </3 i hope the anon who requested it finds this, and this its what you asked for! iâm a little rusty with one-shots so just a short one to ease me into things again! :)
WARNINGS: angst to fluff, arguing, cursing, mentions of past childhood abuse (reader), mentions of a gun/brief mention of violence, trauma responses, crying. (lmk if i missed anything!!)
WORD COUNT: 900 words
THIRD PERSON +
Rafe Cameron wasnât the kind of man anyone would describe as soft. Not with the sharp edge in his voice, the perpetual storm behind his ocean eyes, and the way his knuckles bore scars from fights he barely remembered. He had spent his life battling demons, most of them inherited from Ward Cameron, and those fights had shaped him into someone who took no prisoners.
But with Y/N, none of that mattered.
Y/N was everything Rafe wasnâtâgentle, warm, full of an optimism he couldnât begin to understand but adored nonetheless. She radiated light, the kind that made him want to shield her from the darkness in himself. For two years, sheâd been his anchor, the one person who saw past the volatile exterior to the man buried beneath. And for two years, Rafe had promised himself that he would never hurt her.
But promises donât always hold in the heat of the moment.
The argument had started over something Y/N had brought up before: the gun in Rafeâs apartment. She hated it, hated what it represented, and hated the memories it dragged up for her.
âRafe, I told you,â she said, her voice quiet but firm. âI donât feel safe with it here. Please.â
Rafe, already wound tight from dealing with his fatherâs latest scheme and the growing weight of âthe business,â felt his patience snap like a rubber band stretched too far.
âItâs not a big deal, Y/N,â he muttered, pacing the living room. âItâs not like Iâm walking around with it in my hand. Itâs locked up, alright? Just drop it.â
Y/N didnât drop it. She rarely did when something mattered to her. âIt is a big deal, Rafe. I asked you to get rid of it. I thought you understood howââ
âI said fucking drop it!â Rafeâs voice thundered through the room, loud enough to make the walls seem smaller.
The words echoed in the sudden silence, bouncing off the tension between them. Rafe froze, immediately regretting the way heâd shouted, but it was too late.
Y/N stood there, trembling, her wide eyes glassy with unshed tears. Her lip wobbled as she tried to hold herself together, but Rafe saw the cracks forming.
âBabyâŚâ he said softly, taking a step toward her, reaching out his hand.
She flinched. Actually flinched.
It was like a knife to his chest, sharp and unrelenting. He knew her pastâknew about her fatherâs temper and the way it had scarred her. He knew that shouting brought her back to those dark, suffocating memories.
âIâm so sorry,â he whispered, his voice thick with panic. He reached out again, but she backed away, tears spilling down her cheeks.
âIâI canât,â she choked out before rushing to the bedroom and shutting the door behind her.
Rafe rushed after her before collapsing onto the floor, pressing his back against the wall beside the bedroom door. He could hear her quiet sobs on the other side, each one driving the guilt deeper into his chest.
He buried his face in his hands. âIâm so sorry, babyâ he murmured, voice breaking. âI didnât mean it. I didnât mean to scare you. Please, just⌠let me make it right.â
Her sobs continued, muffled but heartbreaking. Rafe rested his head against the door, tears streaming down his face. He could picture her inside, curled up in the corner, just like she used to do as a little girl to shield herself from her fatherâs rage. A place he promised her she wouldn't ever have to go back to.
âIâm not him,â he whispered, as much to himself as to her. âIâll never be him. I swear. Iâll never hurt you.â
Minutes turned into half an hour, but Rafe didnât move. He felt he didnât deserve to move.
When the door finally opened, Rafe almost didnât notice at first. Heâd been staring at the floor, lost in the heaviness of his own shame. But then Y/N was there, stepping out quietly and kneeling beside him.
Without a word, she crawled into his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and burying her face in his shoulder. Her touch was tentative, as if she wasnât entirely sure she could trust it yet, but Rafe held her like she was the only thing keeping him alive.
âIâm sorry,â he whispered over and over, his voice cracking as he clung to her. âI didnât mean it. I swear, Y/N/N. Iâm so sorry.â
Y/N didnât respond right away. She just held him, letting his warmth chase away the cold that had settled in her chest. Eventually, she pulled back just enough to look at him, her tear-streaked face breaking his heart all over again.
âPlease donât yell at me like that again,â she said softly, her voice trembling.
Rafe cupped her face gently, his thumb brushing away her tears. âI wonât,â he promised, his tone fierce with conviction. âNever again. Iâll get rid of the gun. Iâll do whatever it takes to make this right. Just⌠donât be afraid of me.â
âIâm not afraid of you,â Y/N said, her voice barely audible. âIâm afraid of the person you might become.â
Rafe nodded, the weight of her words sinking deep. He pressed a kiss to her forehead, holding her tightly again. âIâll be better,â he whispered. âFor you, Iâll be better.â
In that moment, Rafe vowed to prove it. Not with words, but with actionsâstarting with the gun.

MYUNG JAEHYUN freely allowing you to bother him
no matter what kind of tricks you could pull, he never seems to get even a little bit annoyed. in fact, it's almost as if he adores you even more because of your antics. sometimes, it leaves you wondering if anything could tick him off at all. in reality, he might just play hard to get purposefully just to watch you persistently ask for something he would do for you without a second thoughtâno matter what it was. he just finds it rather cute when you're so determined to make him do something that you want. you wouldnât even notice itâs an act until you see his wide grin as he finally âgivesâ in. so really, there's no need to beg for anythingâyouâre his weak spot, and he doesn't even try to hide it.
PARK SUNGHO dragging him into doing silly trends
regardless how silly he may think the tiktok you just showed him is, thereâs such a low chance for him to say no. almost all of the time, youâd catch him saying yes. to his defense, how could he say no to someone like you? he loves seeing that spark of excitement in your eyes and canât help but smile as you eagerly set up for the video youâre about to record. sungho, without a doubt, would just look at you with so much love as you tie that pink ribbon around him, adoring and cheesing over you internally.
LEE SANGHYEOK random physical touch
he doesnât dislike physical touch, however, he will get all tensed up if someone were to randomly give it to him without warning. but with you? thatâs a complete different storyâpoke at him, wrap your arms around him, or even smother him with affection, and he'd let it happen without a single complaint. if you wanted it, heâd simply give it to you. regardless, itâs a win-win situation for himâyouâd get all the physical touch you want and he gets pampered with your sweet kisses and hugs. letâs say, there was always a motive all alongâone that leaves him content with getting to keep you as close as possible.
HAN DONGMIN taking his belongings without asking
the first time he saw you wearing one of his hoodies, he couldâve sworn he fell even harder for you. sure, heâs the type who usually prefers when people ask before borrowing his things, but seeing you in it? that was a whole different story. it brought an instant smile to his face, one he couldnât hide even if he tried. from that moment on, heâs never refused youâor asked for anything back. need to borrow his phone for a bit? go ahead. want to wear that accessory he cherishes so much? itâs yours. heâs just that down bad for you. honestly, it doesnât matter how long itâs out of his sight because as long as itâs with you, heâs at ease. he trusts you completelyâand maybe, just maybe, he secretly loves the reminder that heâs yours.
KIM DONGHYUN you have all of his attention
safe to say, you have the leehan completely swooned. you could be distracting him from his game or youtube video, but the moment you call his name, it's like everything fades into the background. itâs almost as if, within a split of a second, heâd be right there for you. even when you donât call for him, heâll pause whatever heâs doing just to check up on you. whether itâs a quick text or simply staying close within your reach, itâs more than enough to keep him content. his eyes soften the moment they land on you, almost as if he canât help but admire the person who means the most to him. and honestly? he wouldnât want it any other way.
KIM WOONHAK decorating his belongings
at first, he might refuse and say a few half-hearted complaints as you pulled out your sticker sheets. but the moment you stuck those tiny heart stickers on his phone case, it was game over. his heart started racing faster than heâd like to admit, and suddenly, those so-called âchildishâ designs didnât seem so bad. ever since then, heâs been extra cautious with anything youâve decorated, treating them with such care as if his life depended on it. heâs practically paranoid about getting even the tiniest scratch on them. in fact, he takes every chance he gets to proudly show them offâwhether itâs his phone, notebook, or water bottleâand purposely leaves his things out in the open, secretly hoping youâll add more. it doesnât matter if the stickers are cute, silly, or completely random. what matters is that youâre the one who decorated them, and to him, that makes them absolutely perfect.

always will be - toji fushiguro
summary: you know the key to a man's heart is through his stomach. toji is no exception
warning: fluff!!!!!!, kisses
written separately, but can be read as pt. 2 of more to love!

toji had always been intimidatingly fit. his sharp abs, toned arms, and broad chest reflected years of discipline and a lifestyle that demanded he stay in peak condition. it wasnât something he flauntedâwalking around shirtless in his own home was just how he lived. he didnât think much of it, and neither did you.
after deciding to move in together, subtle changes crept into his life, ones he hadnât anticipated. every night, he came home to a hot and ready meal. you always made sure it was his favorites, learning his preferences without him needing to say much. and the snacksâthat was his biggest weakness. you were thoughtful enough to have something sweet or savory on hand, excusing it by saying âjust in case you get hungry later.â
now, as toji pads around your shared home, shirtless as always, you canât help but notice the differences in his physique. his abs are softer now, the faintest hint of a tummy forming where there used to be none. his arms, still strong, have lost some of their definition.
the late-night snacks you share, the hearty dinners you insist he eats after long days, and the lazy mornings spent curled up in bed instead of at the gymâ all of it has added up.
at first, toji doesnât think much of it. heâs always had a big appetiteâone you happily indulge. but over the weeks, the changes become harder to ignore. his pants fit a little snug, and the shirts that once fit comfortably now cling to his chest and stomach.
toji glances down at his stomach, giving it an experimental poke. his finger sinks into a soft layer that wasnât there before. he grunts in realization, muttering to himself âguess iâve been slacking.â
but itâs not slackingâitâs comfort. love. the ease of sharing a life with someone who makes him feel whole.
âbabeâ your voice calls sweetly from the kitchen. âbreakfast is ready!â. the smell of sugar and cinnamon hits him as he makes his way to the kitchen. and then he sees itâ the biggest, gooiest cinnamon roll heâs ever laid eyes on, sitting proudly on a plate youâre setting on the table.
âyouâre trying to fatten me up, arenât you?â he accuses with a smirk.
you glance up, genuinely confused. âwhat are you talking about?â. cooking for him has always brought you joy. watching him devour every meal you set in front of him, finishing with a satisfied hum and going up for another serving makes you feel like youâre doing something right. heâs never complained once, and the empty plates he leaves behind are all the validation youâve ever needed.
toji gestures at his waist, where the elastic band of his sweatpants sits noticeably tighter than it used to. âthese donât fit anymoreâ.
your cheeks flush. you know full well youâre the reason for the changes, but itâs not something you feel guilty about. if anything, it makes you proud.
ânot my faultâ you protest, crossing your arms with a playful pout. âyouâre the one who goes back for thirdsâ. your eyes wander over him, noticing how his facial features have softened in the time since you moved in together. his jawline isnât quite as sharp as it used to be, and thereâs a slight fullness in his cheeks nowâa small change, one you canât help but adore.
itâs not just his body thatâs softened. thereâs a new ease to him, a sense of comfort and peace that wasnât there before. it shows in the way his shoulders relax when he walks through the door, in the way his laughter comes more freely these days, and in the warmth of his teasing smirk now.
âi think itâs cuteâ you add softly, your lips curving into a warm smile. you mean it, too. toji might not have the razor-sharp physique he once did, but heâs still the man you fell in love withâstrong, handsome, and completely yours.
âcute?â toji raises an eyebrow. âiâm supposed to be intimidating, not cuteâ he retorts, his deep voice tinged with mock offense. but even as he says it, he knows the truthâheâs gone soft being with you, in more ways than one.
âyeahâ you tease, stepping within reach. you stroke his cheek with your thumb. âbut you look happyâ.Â
youâre not wrong. for the first time in his life, toji feels truly content. he doesnât have to keep his guard up or keep himself for the next battle. instead, he has you, a warm home, and a life that no longer feels like a constant fight for survival.
if it costs him a few extra pounds, he can live with itâbecause for the first time, it feels like heâs really living.
he smiles, the sincerity in his expression reaching his eyes. âi am happyâ he says quietly.
your heart swells at his admission, warmth spreading through your chest. your own smile mirrors his as you lean in, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.Â
âyou better be. or iâll stop feeding youâ you tease after pulling away.
tojiâs eyes narrow, his brows drawing together in a warning. âdonât you dareâ.Â
before you can react, he pulls you into his lap, guiding your back against his chest with ease. his grip tightens around your waist, and you settle into him, feeling the heat of his body pressing against yours. you both share a few playful, soft and lingering kisses before toji reaches for his breakfast.Â
he breaks off a piece and offers you the first bite, feeding it to you with such tenderness. his lips hover near yours as he leans in to steal a quick kiss, humming in appreciation of the sweet frosting that sticks to you.Â
if youâre being honestâ youâve noticed the changes in him. the extra pounds that have slowly added up, the snug fit of his shirts, the softness in his once-defined features. but itâs not something that bothers you. in fact, it only makes you love him more. the softening of his body is a symbol of the comfort, the safety, and the ease heâs found with you.
you rest your head against him, loving that heâs comfortable with you, comfortable in this space youâve created together. toji doesnât have to be the intimidating, hardened man he was before. heâs allowed to relax, to soften in all the best ways.
âi think you look perfectâ you whisper, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
the edge of toji's smirk falters. perfect. it's not a word heâs used to associating with himself. toji knows his scars, his flaws, the rough edges heâs tried to smooth out over the years. perfect was for things he never thought he could have, for people he never thought he deserved.
but here you are, saying it like itâs the most obvious thing in the world.
toji tightens his grip around your waist, pulling you closer until thereâs not an inch of space between you. he doesnât speak right away. instead, he lowers his head, his nose brushing softly against your temple, as he repeats the sentence in his head.
âyou really think so?â he asks, his voice hesitant.
you tilt your head to meet his gaze, your smile warm and unwavering. âof course. youâve always been perfect to me. always will be".
the sincerity in your voice is enough to ease his worries. he believes you, knowing you'd never lie to him. he doesnât know how to respondâhow to put into words what your belief in him does to his heart.
so instead, he leans in, brushing his lips against yours. he's gentle, even as he deepens it. itâs not just a kiss; itâs a thank you, a promise, and a confession all rolled into one.
âguess i can live with thatâ he murmurs against your lips, his smirk returning, softer now. thereâs a warmth in his eyes, an acceptance of something heâs still trying to believe.

Hakoda the Grief Pirate it's time for Hakoda the Grief Pirateeee
Kya is killed, as in canon. Unlike canon, Bato is killed too. This means that rather than join the war, Hakoda goes mad with grief and gathers a few ships' worth of men - desperate, brutal men who want to repay the cruelty of the Fire Nation in kind. Not soldiers, not sailors, killers.
And he takes Katara.
The first place he goes is the Northern Water Tribe. He gets an audience. He goes to Chief Arnook and the elders and says: either I leave here today with a master for my daughter, or none of us leave this room alive.
Katara gets a master.
As in canon, Katara is a prodigy. With a year to focus on her waterbending and drilled by a man wearing her father's face who tells her "we're all going to die doing this" and "but we'll bleed them a thousand times over for every one of us" and most importantly he says "we're going to avenge your mother" - growing up under that man, Katara becomes terrifying.
Sokka is left alone. The last bit of love in his father's heart was spent on him, though he doesn't know it. It was spent on leaving him. It was spent on sparing him from seeing what his father would become.
Sokka goes out often, looking for traders and sailors and ships. He finds no news and too little fish. Until one day, an iceberg cracks open.
The boy is young and Sokka hasn't been a big brother for a while now, but it turns out that it's like riding a penguin - you never really forget. So when Aang gets kidnapped by some ponytailed jerk, of course he goes after him.
That he only manages to ruin Aang's escape and get them both captured is beside the point, okay? The Fire Jerk cheated.
(Appa follows them, if you're wondering. Aang doesn't seem to be in any real danger. Zuko isn't an especially merciless captor, no matter how he tries.)
Sokka finally gets some news. The Frost Wolf is believed to be a Northern raider (to protect his tribe from reprisals) and he is feared. He leaves only one survivor in each of his raids. He tasks them to deliver a simple message: the seas are no longer safe for the Fire Nation. He replenishes his crew with convicts and pirates. They say he has a crazy mechanist working for him. They say that an icy fog follows where he goes, blocking out the sun and chilling Firebenders to the core. They say he can't be killed.
-
"So, these guys of yours -" Sokka began and paused to let the answering "they're not my guys!" wash over him, "do they say anything about a girl?"
The Prince's ears reddened. "I don't listen to that kind of filth."
Which means you have listened, Sokka might have said if he felt like teasing. He didn't.
"Not like that! A girl, a little younger than me. Have you heard anything about that?"
Sokka held his breath. This was it. Of course, it didn't mean anything if Zuko hadn't heard...
"No." The Prince's voice was unusually quiet. Zuko's good eye glinted in the orange light of the torches.
Sokka couldn't help that his exhale caught in his throat on the way out, it wasn't - it was just a shock, he reasoned, it didn't mean anything that Zuko hadn't heard...
Zuko stood up and made to walk out. He stopped at the door.
"I'm sorry," the Prince said. "I have a sister, too."
The door closed and Sokka was left alone and with questions. Questions like:
How did he know?
-
The trip to the Fire Nation is long. Any experienced commander could have told Zuko to limit his interactions with the prisoners. To rotate out their guards and never have their meals brought by the same person if he could avoid it. Any experienced military commander would have seen the risk of two child prisoners, one of who is particularly genial and charming while the other is funny and sarcastic.
Iroh, one of the most experienced military commanders alive, encourages Zuko to learn all he can about his enemy. It's an advantage, you see.
(And if the watch lists are edited to put crewmembers with children into frequent and close contact with the prisoners - well, that's Iroh's prerogative. He is a General. And if there are a few minor navigational errors that lenghten their journey, well, that he knows nothing about. He's a General, not an Admiral.)
Meanwhile, Princess Azula is tasked with putting an end to the Frost Wolf's provocations. It would be terribly inconvenient if she were to have frequent encounters with another bending prodigy, about her age and wearing blue robes and a mask. They should make out about it.
Eventually, they'll all have to reckon with their monstrous fathers and murderous siblings.

Company
Pairing: Robert âBobâ Reynolds x Reader
Warnings: None?
A/N: I have not written fanfiction in literal years, so be gentle with me and let me know if you would like more of Bob.
-
âWill you keep Bob company?â He asked. âHe gets lonely sometimes and he likes you, really.â Bucky reassured. Bob only truly spoke to you when necessary. It was nothing rude. Bob didnât have a rude bone in his body, you knew that, but placing two rather reserved people in a room together didnât lead to the most exhilarating conversations.
You nodded back, âI can do that. Iâm not sure how, but I can do that.â You looked down at the to do list for the tower and at the bottom added a swift note, âKeep Bob company.â With a star next to it. âThank you. I appreciate it, and Iâm sure he will too.â
The first day was quiet. Bob sat alone in his room. He knew it wasnât the best idea for him. It was after all isolation. He had been so used to the house buzzing with lively characters. Instead, he could only hear your light footsteps and soft humming through the floor. There was a light background noise coming from the television from the main living room. Bob wasnât meaning to avoid you. He never meant to avoid you. You made him so incredibly flustered that he felt all thoughts leave his head, which made it difficult for conversation.
There was a light tap on the door. âCome- Come in.â Bob called out. The door lightly opened. You stood in a plain colored t-shirt with sweatpants on. Bob had only ever seen you in your professional attire. This was a stark difference that Bob clearly liked better. He was sitting on his bed cross legged with a sweater on and sweats. A smile twitched at the corner of your lips at the sight. Bob noticed. He noticed everything about you. âAlpine missed you.â Bob looked down at the black cat swirling around your ankles that then jumped up onto Bobâs bed. He rubbed against Bobâs chest then laid down in his lap.
âWhatâs your comfort meal?â You asked, leaning against the doorframe. You wanted to be able to walk in with the same freedom as Alpine, but crawling onto Bobâs bed felt more invasive for you than for the cat. âComfort meal?â Bob questioned looking up from Alpine. His eyebrows knitted together. âYou know, a meal that makes you feel all nice and warm?â Bob hummed in response. Dinners didnât exactly bring him comfort as a child. As a result, Bob didnât exactly eat for comfort, but more for survival. âI donât know, maybe, um, chicken noodle soup?â
âChicken noodle soup,â you thought of the ingredients in the kitchen. âI can do that.â You turned off of the door frame and disappeared from Bobâs sight causing Alpine to follow suit. âCome on, Bob, I need company while I cook.â He scampered off of the bed nearly falling while following after.
He sat at the counter on the opposite side of the kitchen. The television buzzing had turned out to be a marathon of romcoms. He hadnât expected that from you, but he wasnât necessarily surprised. You moved calmly through the kitchen, cleaning and putting away things as you go. You moved with such surety that it comforted Bob. He hadnât brought anything to the counter to accompany him and occupy his mind. The only thing occupying his mind, was you. âSo, Bob, our itinerary for tomorrow,â Bobâs eyebrows knitted together again. âI donât know if you knew this about me, but I am like a flower.â Delicate and beautiful? Bob thought. âIf I donât see the sun, I will wither away. So, I was thinking we could go for a walk and go sit out in the park? Early in the morning preferably.â You looked up as the pot came to a simmer. Bobâs eyebrows slowly unknitted and he eased into a smile. âYeah, yeah, that sounds really nice.â You could see his shoulders ease. He would have gone anywhere with you.
Bob officially understood what a comfort meal was while sitting with you on the couch with a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup. The rest of the team werenât the best in the kitchen. With them constantly on the move, most things they made were meant to be on the go, something quick and easy preferably. âDo you always make dinner like this?â He asked, stretching his legs out on the couch. His chest felt warm, just like you had said. âI do. Itâs a part of my routine, like a form of self care. Something homemade and warm.â Bob nodded in response. You stretched out your legs as you put your bowl on the end table. Your foot brushed against Bobâs outstretched legs. A shiver ran up Bobâs back. He worried what would happen even with his powers under control and both of you having a layer of clothing separating you two. He missed physical touch. Something must have crossed his face as he looked from your foot to your face. âIâm not afraid, Bobby.â You said lightly as your climbed off of the couch, taking your bowl with you to wash. If there was anyone in the world that he didnât want to fear him, it was you. He could feel his heartbeat pounding in his chest.
You appeared back into living room. Bobâs head stayed focused forward still dazed. You ruffled his hair while standing behind him on the couch. His brown locks were soft in your hands. âHave a good night, Bobby, if you need anything at all, let me know.â He looked up to you and nodded quickly. There were tears in his eyes as his Adamâs apple bobbed quickly in an effort for the tears to not fall. You smiled sweetly down to him before walking to your room. Bob sat there for another minute holding his breath till he heard your shower running. He blinked quickly and wiped away any remnants of tears. The warmth in his chest had boiled outwards to the rest of his body. Fear crossed his mind, that this could be one of his highs. He hadnât ever felt this kind of warmth that wrapped around him. He climbed off of the couch, washed his dishes, and went to bed himself with Alpine curled up against his legs.
The next morning, Bob woke up to you opening his currents gently. He could smell breakfast cooking in the kitchen drifting through his bedroom door. He stirred awake, sitting up on his elbows in bed. It was only then that you realized he was not wearing a shirt. His chest was so light and toned. His hair was wild and he looked so peaceful. You lost just about every word you could have possibly said. He filled in the silence, âDid you sleep well?â He rubbed his eyes as he sat up. âI did. You didnât need me last night, did you?â Need you? No. Wanted you? Absolutely. Bob though, but instead he opted to say, âNo, I went to sleep not long after you.â He pulled a sweater over his head and climbed out of bed. âCome on, breakfast, walk, park.â You said as you lead him to the kitchen.
Bob was greeted by pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs just how he liked them. âHow did you know?â He asked as he sat down with his plate. âIâm observant.â You shrugged, not looking up from your plate. He noticed that unlike his other housemates, you did not fuel yourself with a straight black coffee. âNo coffee?â He asked, sipping his orange juice. âNo, I try to.... stay away from caffeine. It, um, makes me anxious.â Once again, your eyes didnât meet his. This routine, it all helped you, so you hoped it could help Bob too. You both ate your breakfast quietly before splitting up to get ready for the day.
You guided Bob down the street. He wasnât used to this. He preferred to stay inside where he would have less interactions with others, less chances of inconveniencing others. He enjoyed the feeling of sunshine on his face. After making it to the park, you laid out a blanket on the ground. You had come prepared with books for you and Bob. Instead, Bob laid on his back with his face towards the sun. There was a light breeze moving his waves to tap against his face. His breathing had slowed and the warmth was back. It spread all over his body. He opened his eyes to see you watching him, your book being lost in your lap. âI love to see you like this.â You smiled at him. It was earnest and real, he could hear it in your voice. There was a soft glow on your skin. He wondered if you felt the same warmth all over. You laid down next to him. Your pinkies brushed together, which lead you to link your pinky with his. A testament to your words last night. You werenât afraid of him and he could tell. You could feel the warmth radiating off of him.
On the walk back home, you held onto Bobâs hand. You initially grabbed it so loosely, in case he wanted to pull away. Bob, who was in such desperate need for more and more of your touch, grabbed back with much more ferocity. The walk back was silent, but so much had been said. You could most certainly check off that last box on your to do list and you hoped that you could keep checking it off for days to come, never as an inconvenience, but as a privilege.

You are not Special- DC X DP Prompt
Interdimensional God-like beings are not known for their patience, however it looked like they had gotten lucky.
This being that had been summoned against its will to their universe was actually quite calm. They sat back on a makeshift throne made by the cultists that had brought them here. Its body was the form of a young man draped in silk. He paid little mind to the cult bowing and scraping at his feet as he absentmindedly examined his nails for anything under them. They were as pristine as his marble-like form.
"You know cults get a bad reputation in these modern times." He said not looking up at the heroes who had invaded his sanctuary intent on sealing him away. "Not without cause of course. But not every cult is evil. As oxymoronic as that sounds. But it used to mean a group of people devoted to their god of choice, no different than any other religion except they lived solely to dedicate their lives to it. No tricks or schemes, just beliefs. None of that sacrifice or blood here though. I like cleanliness and a good batch of dessert for my alters."
"We aren't here to give your offerings." Batman said simply.
The teen stretched lazily and shrugged.
"You are free to just pray, take a rest, eat, or do whatever you want."
"You don't belong here. You must return to your own realm." Superman said fimly but cordially.
The cultists panicked as they looked between their god and the heroes. Some had disdain etched on their faces others had sadness.
"Don't belong? I do what I want. Who are you people to tell ME what to do? Do you own this planet? This universe?" The god challenged.
"We are the protectors of this planet. Surely you understand that we can't let you stay here using humans like servants." Superman retorted.
Constantine had a bad feeling about what came next as he got between everyone to speak.
"Sorry, forgive him. We don't want to offend. It's just that our universe has had enough beings like you causing issues in the past. We are a bit exhausted because every major event seems to hit our planet. We are a bit defensive."
The teens's lip curled.
"Do you think you are the only planet with such woes? How conceited. What you believe that your little planet is so special that it is the only one subject to the powers of beings you can't control? As we speak there a thousands of beings influencing this world that have a bigger effect than what I'm currently doing. Are you tired of being the playthings of the universe? Bah! The universe doesn't care one bit what goes on on this little planet over the billions of planets in this universe. You are no more special than a bit of algae on a frozen world." The teen sneered.
"But that doesn't change the fact that we would like one less threat to deal with," Batman said as Constantine tried to shut him up. "Even if you do not care about humans, we care what you can do to us."
"A good point but I never said I didn't care. I'm actually fond of humans but no more fond of them than any other lifeforms. There are billions of aliens in this universe alone. But not one is special because all life is special. Not one is better. But any damage I could possibly do to you could easily be done by the many unseen gods of this realm. These beings have built this world from those that actively created it, ignore it, and those that don't even realize it exists. Could you believe that your own creator doesn't know you are there? It's actually very common."
"You're dodging the question and talking in circles. We just want you to leave." Batman sighed irritably.
"You keep telling me to leave. I have just arrived but I've also always been here. Is this how you greet me?" The teen crossed his arms.
"Are you a god of this world?" Wonder Woman stepped forward this time. "You dress like that of a Roman god."
"Do you like it? I got it from Rome a few thousand years ago."
Well, he never failed to turn something into a compliment, that's for sure.
"But that's a complicated question. If you're asking if I made your universe then, no. If your asking if it exists because of me then, yes. It exists because I do. It's my nature. So I'm not a god. I'm a law of nature." The boy leaned back and kicked his feet childishly.
"You look like a kid." Clark blurted.
"Well... you're right. But you didn't have to point it out." He pouted.
"I mean, you just look...like a person. Not a force of nature." Clark quickly corrected.
"I look like what you can perceive me as. Can't ask a two-dimensional creature to understand three dimensions. Think of me as an anthropomorphic personification of a concept." The teen stood up finally and walked around his bowing worshippers.
"And what are you?" Batman said stiffly as the boy reached him.
"I am the Void. The absence of force or untethered space and infinite possibilities. A place of raw unprocessed energy. So if I exist then a tethered space with one string of possibilities exists. Think string theory." The boy laughed.
"Wait, I know what you are. You're an Ancient, an Endless. I thought I'd get a break from your lot after Morpheus." Constantine said.
The group turned to Constantine in surprise, not surprised that he knew what the kid was but that he had done this before.
"Look, kid. Your lot don't show themselves often. Especially not in front of so many people. You'd usually lay low among mortals." Constantine said suspicious of the young Endless. "Do the others know you are playing around?"
The teen presses his lips together. He glares like someone has ruined his game.
"Should I try summoning them and ask." Constantine smirked, he knew he found his in.
"You wouldn't." He frowned.
"I would." Constantine said "Unless you want to go home on your own."
The boy tried to protest but a portal opened on its own and a hand reached out grabbing the boy by the ear.
"What are you doing in the mortal realm this time?! I told you to focus on fixing the timelines not playing god like a child!" The voice boomed.
"But Clockwork-" The teen whined as he was dragged through the portal "I was just pulling a prank. I swear!"
The boy's voice was muffled and distant as he got to the other side. Then the prtal closed and it was over.
The room went silent.
"He was right. There is nothing special about any life form over another. But that also means he is no different than a human child and held to the same standards." Constantine said lighting a cigarette before leaving the ruins. "You can handle the rest right?"

CHAOS WITH A SIDE OF POPCORN - KA12

listen up : kimi antonelli x reader. includes date crashers, isack, liam, jack, gabriel, ollie, and franco! i honestly love this mess of a fic!
words : 1987
â・â§Ëâ
âWhatâs up, sluts!?â Is the first thing that tells me, the rookies have arrived. Itâs Franco who says it, grinning big with Lawson by his side. The blonde is holding a bowl which he slides onto the counter.
Kimi gives me a look, his hand sliding into my back pocket as the rest file in. âAre we late!?â Gabi asks which earns him a slap on the back from Jack.
âHey guys!â Jack kisses Kimi on the cheek, making me laugh and making Kimi wipe his cheek with his sleeve.
âSome douche almost just ran over me in the parking lot-â Isack announces, Ollie laughing and closing the door behind him.
âI think that was me.â Gabi makes a face then winks, making me laugh and lean back into Kimi.
âThanks for hosting, Y/n!â Franco smiles at me.
âNot like you invited yourself and then every rookie on the grid!â I gasp dramatically, Jack nudging my arm so get me to move because heâs looking in my cabinets?
Liam supposedly finds what theyâre looking for, âFound it!â Itâs a bag of popcorn kernels.
I look at Kimi whoâs looking around like a man who just got snaked out of his date night (because he is). âHey Y/n, brought you this.â Ollie smiles, dapping up Kimi and handing me a plant⌠Yeah. I donât know either.
âKimi!â Gabriel yells, âWhereâs the remote?â
I look at my boyfriend, pushing my face into his chest and laughing. âGab, this is my apartment!â
âDoesnât mean Antonelli doesnât watch more TV than you.â Kimi shakes his head, kissing my cheek and leaving my side with Ollie.
I turn around to see Franco and Jack frozen and staring at me like I'm evil, âGross.â Jack says while Franco says something in Spanish under his breath.
The two are an unexpected pair but I think they get along purely because F1 is weird as fuck. âYou have a girlfriend, Doohan!â I pat his chest.
âYeah and I miss her so I'm choosing to be bitter.â
âWhatâs your excuse?â I ask Franco who shakes his head. âMr. PDA.â
âMy heart is broken, Y/n! Have some empathy.â I laugh at the argentinian purely because âhis broken heartâ is because a celebrity didnât respond to his DM.
âSorry my boyfriend loves me and none of you freaks brought a girl for me to hang out with!â I grab a soda, going to help Liam and Isack with the popcorn.
Gabi and Kimi are in the living room, screaming at the TV while it plays some game. âPlease donât burn my apartment down.â I say to Isack and Liam who are fighting over how to use the machine that isnât on, âWell- you canât burn anything down when itâs not plugged in.â I plug it in, the teammates blinking then breaking into laughter.
âY/n we love you.â Isack grins, pouring the kernels while Liam picks up the ones heâs spilling.
âWhat are we watching tonight?â Jack asks, biting into a strawberry.
âDonât get into my fruit!â I yell.
âLetâs watch Moana!â Franco offers.
Liam groans, âWhy the fuck would we watch moana when cars is-â
âWe watched cars last time!â Jack mentions.
âThere was a last time!?â Franco scoffs and hands a bowl to Isack.
I shake my head and leave the room, Jack following me out to see Gabi and Kimi arguing in italian, while Ollie tries to keep up as if itâs a tennis match. âMamma mia!â I mimic them, flopping onto the couch and resting my head on Kimiâs leg.
âAre they making a mess?â Kimiâs hand finds my hair, the familiar touch making me smile.
âNot one they wonât clean up.â I thank god that Kimis friends, everyone under 25 on the grid, is genuinely nice.
Jack hands Gabi a coke, âKimi, pick what weâre watching or else we will never settle on a movie.â
âCa-â
âAnything but cars!â I say, Kimi frowning down at me. âHow about ten things I hate about you- oh! Or the wedding planner!â They all groan.
âIf itâs a chick flick, make it a good one.â Ollie says.
âAre you implying those arenât good? Get out of my house Bearman.â He goes to stand and is pulled back down by Jack, not even trying to hide his smile.
âI stand by my words.â
I scoff dramatically and sit up, smelling popcorn when Franco, Liam, and Isack join us.
I take the corner of the couch with Kimi next to me, his arm locking me into place as I scroll on our options. Jack, Gabi, and Isack take up the rest of the couch while Liam, Franco, and Ollie all giggling on the floor.
Weâre all surrounded by blankets and popcorn crumbs.
âThe notebook!â I offer, earning mumbled disdain from the group. âFranco donât even- I know you cried.â
He throws a piece of popcorn at me. âOh my god!â I scream, making Kimi, who was comfortably snuggled into my side, jump. âSheâs the man! You guys will love this.â
Gabi laughs, âIâve seen it, sheâs right.â
âMe too!â Ollie claps his hands together, âIâm pretty sure Y/n made me watch it, actually.â
âWow I canât believe we actually chose a movie!â I grin, pressing rent as Kimi drops a piece of popcorn into my mouth.
âWe as in you? Liam teases.
I roll my eyes and press play, âIf I hear-â Isack imitates slopping kissing noises, âI will pour ice water on you! But not today. You will not expect it.â
Kimi laughs, turning into my neck and mimicking the noises with his mouth. I squeal and push him away, everyone laughing until his curls brush my cheek and he sits towards the TV again, âFuck off.â
I rest my arm on Kimiâs chest, the group quieting down as the movie starts. That quiet does not last long.
âWhoâs that?â
âHeâs annoying!â
âSheâs hot.â
âHeâs hot!â
âHow is she supposed to shower with tits?â
Kimi rubs his hand over my arm soothingly, extra touchy today even when I'm yelling at friends to shut up. They donât shut up. At least the person they objectify the most is Channing Tatum.
âI need water.â I whisper, rolling off Kimi and stepping over Liam and Franco who yell at me for getting in the way.
âGet more popcorn!â Gabi hands the bucket to me, getting a slap on the head from Kimi, âPlease?â
I grab the bucket and head into the kitchen just when Amanda starts training harder, the boys fighting on who would be the best at âsoccerâ (Kimi wonât stop saying it in an American accent).
I flip the popcorn machine on, filling up my glass and texting my friend back. âAmoreeeeâŚâ The sweet voice of my sleepy boyfriend fills my ears, Kimi setting down his phone on the counter and slumping towards me.
âBored of the movie?â I smile as his hands grip the counter around me, his head falling to my shoulder.
âBored without you.â
âOh god, you have separation anxiety.â
Kimi grins at this, lifting his head and kissing me softly, âGod forbid a man wants to be with his girlfriend.â
I laugh harder now, âYou need to get off tik tok. Iâve created a monster.â
He grins, god I love his stupid smile. I love his face. His hand slips to my hip, looking at me as if I'm the only person in the world. âYouâre so pretty.â I say, tugging at a loose curl.
He scrunches up his nose, leaning in, âThank you very much. Tiktok told me men get prettier the longer theyâre with their drop dead gorgeous girlfriend.â I roll my eyes and he cuts off my laugh with a kiss.
He kisses me slowly, softly. My hand goes to the hem of his hoodie, resting on his side and letting my fingers touch his skin. Heâs taller than me so while I'm looking up, his hair is falling in both of our faces.
He smells like peppermint and popcorn. Kimi kisses me every day weâre together, yet each one is so different that I think itâs impossible for me to ever get bored.
I tug at his hoodie and he leans closer, letting me feel the smile against his lips.
âEw!â Weâre interrupted, âGross!â Itâs Gabi. Heâs standing in the doorway with his hands over his eyes.
Kimi sighs, âYouâve got me to kidding me-â
âWhat happened!?â Isack yells from the other room.
âThey were having sex on the counter!â Everyone screams as Kimi flips off Gabriel.
âWe were not!â I groan, grabbing the now filled bowl of popcorn and heading back in.
âWhat position?â Franco laughs, my foot âaccidentallyâ colliding with his side.
âIf you canât handle one kiss then I feel sorry for your girlfriend.â Kimi eyes Gabi who suddenly doesnât think itâs very funny.
Ollie does though, âYouâre lucky they were only kissing! Iâve seen so much worse-â
âOkay, Ol! Have some popcorn!â I take a handful and shove it in his mouth before looking around at the rest of them.
âNo way- I donât want that popcorn.â Jack declines my offer.
âIâll take some!â Isack grabs a handful, âMaybe itâll make me have more game.â
âSpeaking of-â I'm mildly annoyed that theyâre all talking over the best movie of all time, but I let it slide when Liam yells over the rest, âHowâd you pull her, Antonelli?â
He blushes, sitting on the arm of the couch and scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. âOh- WellâŚâ
âI actually set them up!â Ollie grins like a proud mum.
âYou did not!â Kimi groans, âYou always say this but you didnât know Y/n before I did-â
âNo, but I forced your stupid ass to get in line and ask her out like a man instead of a boy who was drooling over her from across the paddock!â The brit argues, making us all laugh and me lean into Kimi.
âWell it was either you asked me out or I was gonna storm over to Mercedes garage and put in a complaint!â I pat Kimiâs arm.
âThen he choked on the first date.â Ollie mentions.
âChoked on what-â Franco tries to joke but gets met with a glare from me and quickly shuts up.
âIt was pasta!â He sighs, âAnd I hate reliving the moment I almost died, thanks!â
Isack smiles mischievously, âY/n give you CPR?â
âSome old Italian man picked him up and shot it right out of him.â I canât help but tease him just a little bit, âBut I did comfort him very well for the rest of the evening.â
âYeah!â Kimi laughs, scooting onto the couch fully and pulling a blanket over us, âBy texting Ollie pictures of me pre and post choke!â
After they force me to show them the photos (I did offer them up quite easily) we get back to the movie.
By the time itâs over, Kimi is asleep on my shoulder, Liam is dragging Isack off the couch to leave, and Ollie has already crashed in my guest room.
âThanks Y/n!â Gabi waves quietly at me.
âBye!â Jack joins him, making sure to snap a photo of Kimi before he leaves.
âThank you very much.â Franco smiles, âTell Kimi weâll see him on track. See ya!â
I wave to all of them, watching them walk out quietly and get a few minutes of pure silence before Kimi rolls over.
He mumbles something, half asleep and his eyes blinking open, âDone?â He says, repositioning himself so his arms are around me.
âThey all left.â I cuddle closer to him, âMovie night, successful.â
He smiles, his eyes closed as he kisses my shoulder, âLove ya.â and then he falls asleep.
âI love you too.â Iâm soon to go after him, a peaceful night on a messy couch- until Ollieâs snoring wakes us both up.

DEFINITELY NUTS ᥣđŠ ⤡ next
pairing: Simon 'Ghost' Riley & model!fem!reader
synopsis: Ghost mentions you but 141 doesn't believe that he got a wife
tags: crack (well, attempted), fluff

Ghostâs strict rules for privacy are something the 141 has known for years now. Heâs not the type of person to blab about his personal life and often chooses just to keep quiet. So, imagine their surprise when he suddenly says that heâs going to take a day off because his wife asked him to watch a play.Â
âPrice, âam not gonna be here tomorrow. Got a date with my missus.â
All eyes are on him, everyone stills. âWIFE? Since when?!â Soap exclaimed, finally breaking the silence. His eyes were almost bulging out his eyes. âNever told you about her?â Ghost hums, unamused by the Scottishâs exclaim. âJohnny here does have a reasonable reaction. You never tell us anything âbout you, mate,â Price joined, chuckling and pulling out a cigar. The man just contemplates before brushing it off and bidding farewell, leaving the group confused.Â
âAinât no way heâs telling us the truth. That man ainât got no bone in his body to bag someone,â Soap voiced out, looking for anyone to support his disbelief. âI mean..â Gaz whistles out, crossing his arms over his chest and tilting his head as if heâs agreeing to some extent. Thatâs when, unbeknownst to Ghost, he got the reputation of being delusional and a liar.Â
Soap, still doubtful days later, watches the lieutenant with a vision like a hawk. âHey, lieutenant.â Ghost snaps his head up, looking at him. âHow was the date with your wife?â Immediately, everyone else stopped what they were doing, silently listening. It was obvious he was baiting Ghost, emphasizing the wife as if putting on quotes. They werenât as nosy as Soap but each one of them still held a bit of doubtness that the brick wall of the team managed to get a girl, and even marry her.
âIt was okay. The missus had fun,â Ghost chuckles, fondly remembering how you were beaming on the way, rambling about the plot of the play. âCan we see pictures?â Soap smirked thinking he finally got the lieutenant but was taken aback when Ghost only shrugged and pulled out his phone before freezing. âAh, we didnât take pictures yesterday. Said she wanted to live in the moment.âÂ
Soap whipped his head to signal to Gaz, seemingly saying âSee? Heâs definitely lying! How convenient he has no pictures.âÂ
âHow about just a picture of your wife?â Kyle suggested, now invested while Price seemed to be shaking his head in the corner. âI have none with me but..â With a few clicks, Ghost holds up his phone for everyone to see. Like birds, everyone flocked around him, curious to see. For a while, everyone was surprised and sure the man was lying. I mean, he just showed them a picture of a drop-dead gorgeous model from a magazine!Â
âHe's definitely lost itâ everyone seemed to think, offering pity glances at the man who had this prideful shine in his eyes. Walking up to his superior, Soap patted him on the back. âItâs fine, mate⌠we understand how difficult it must be.â ânot having a lady at allâ
Thinking Johnny meant about your hectic schedule, he agreed. âItâs quite tough but we make it work,â he chuckled which made everyone wince.
âDefinitely nuts!â
Weeks passed after that and the topic never got brought up, until Ghost came in with a bento in hand covered with a handkerchief with frilly ends. When asked about it, he replied, âAh, wifeâs testing out recipes for an upcoming TV show. âS been practicing and asked me to bring one.â Once again, he was given pity glances and even heard a defeated sigh from Soap.Â
âHeâs too far goneâ
âHowâs work?â you ask, dazedly paying attention to the movie you guys put, more invested in burying your face in Simonâs chest while he drapes both arms on your waist, completely engulfing your torso under his muscles. âBeen getting a few weird stares,â he mumbles, playing with your hair and pressing kisses on your forehead. âWhy?â you peer up, resting your chin on his shoulder. âI donâ know, princess.â
MeanwhileâŚ
âShould we just⌠finally set the lieutenant on a date? I feel bad. I mean, he even lied about his âwifeâ making him lunch,â Johnny sighed.
âProbably the best idea,â Kyle nodded.
Now Price⌠he knows the truth. He met you before when you dropped by, asking for Ghostâ which ended horriblyâ but heâll lying if he said heâs not getting a kick out of this.
