The dead son of Batman
Imagine a JL disaster situation, several heroes are already reported missing or presumed dead, the last one apparently is Batman..
and that annoys his children, especially the last one I adopted...
yep, Phantom enters all ballistic and King of the Dead mode at 100% (gigantic, that the mere presence of him is enough to instill terror in anyone)...
he ends up defeating the bad guy in turn and leaving a wasteland of destruction...
but surprise, surprise, Batman comes out in the middle of the rubble, He's alive!...
And Danny just goes back to normal and goes flying to hug him while he screams "Dad!"...
but surprise, everything that happened ends up recorded in the international news....
And what do you say:
how would the world react?

So uh, op Danny.
In one episode, he used his energy to repair the Fenton thermos.
He can repair non-living matter so...
Yeah
(if he is like anything like atom eve and has a mental block, should he remove that block he can do living matter, so yeah)
if I recall I think all he did to the thermos was power it up? I'm not sure why he needed to since the Fentons seem to be able to power the rest of their weapons just fine but I dunno
so maybe you're right and he did fix it somehow
it could have to do with ectoplasm making things slightly more mutated, or if it's a matter of being conductive maybe it can fix broken connections or join up split wires or something

dp x dc prompt #21
The superheroes of the world first encounter Danny as a giant eldritch god, while fighting another giant eldritch god. green lantern uses his ring to translate what they’re saying, but it’s staticky and rough and barely gets the message across, which shouldn’t be possible. It’s mostly battle banter, but at the end of the fight, the ring spits out a message that’s loosely translated into ‘the earth belongs to me, stay out of my territory’(he was really just warning the other to stay out of his haunt and that earth’s people were under his protection)
The JL is in crisis mode planning for another world domination attempt, this time by an extremely powerful god of unknown origin. Danny joins the league as a supernatural hero just to help them with the mysterious threat, completely oblivious to the fact that he’s the supposed threat.

Dc x dp idea 33
There is a battle going on. Between the justice/young justice/teen titans (any of them work) and some threat from the infinite realms.
The team is loosing, none of there weapons are working and magic isn’t working either.
A glowing green portal and Danny is dragged through by cujo. Danny yells at cujo to heel. Just for cujo to stop in the middle of the battle.
Danny looks around and sees what happening. He confronts the ones from the infinite realm demanding to know what was done to cause a fight. Demanding to know if they had threatened the realm. Had they broken any law against the realm.
The answer was no. They taunt him tho that he doesn’t stand a chance against them. He is just a lone child a mere baby by there standards.
Danny looks at them and scoffs at them. Just starts walking towards them.
Obviously the dc team tries to get him to stop. Danny looks back at them eyes glowing green a ice wall forming between them.
Danny turns back to those from his realm and transforms. Crown appearing above his head. He speaks of how he defeated vortex, undergrowth and nocturne. He has learned from pandora, frostbite and clockwork. United the realms. He lead the group that sealed away pariah. Danny just tells them to run.
And they do.
Danny transforms back. Ice wall down when he goes to apologize for them cujo knocks him down. Cujo is just full on him licking him.

Dpxdc Au: Dani has taken up letter writing on her adventures around the world! It gives Danny something to look forward to even if he can just text or call her… wait why is she spending so much time in Gotham??
Danny was thrilled that his clone sister had taken to writing letters as part of her travels- sure he could always give her phone a ring but this was so much cuter! She always included little drawings of things she’d seen and it was obvious that she was using letter writing as a way to reflect.
Jazz had mentioned that it was probably kind of like diary writing being good self-reflection time… Danny kind of zoned out during that lecture turned instruction manual, but he’s still super excited everytime a new letter shows up! Plus it’s not like his mom or dad ever check the mailbox.
Her letter last time was all about Gotham and the creepy heroes she talked to while she was there. It had a lot of details but Danny just figured she must have thought a lot about it with her own connection to having powers and using them for good. He’s hoping that she chose to go to metropolis or even Central City next but he opens the next letter and… Gotham.
She’s still in Gotham. Apparently she really likes the creepy heroes now, and she totally saved their butts on a mission. Huh, well, okay. It’s not like Danny is going to tell her to move on, cause the city’s most famous anti-power aka anti-meta advocate is hanging out with her according to her letters… whatever. He gives her a call but she says she’s in the middle of a board game night and will call him back.
2 weeks go by and a new letter arrives- checking the postage- she’s still in Gotham!!! She’s staying with a family that she really likes and thinks Danny would like as well, they have all his favorite video games and the food doesn’t even fight back! Danny is starting to get a bit anxious but… he’s glad she’s getting some semblance of normalcy.
Next few letters are detailing her life with this family and then in the last one she calls the oldest kid “Big Brother Energy times 1,000” and it makes Danny come to a realization.
Holy shit- Dani’s been adopted!!
He immediately flies to Gotham to inspect this family and what the heck? Why are they being so nice to him?? He’s trying to interrogate them!! Dani stop helping them!! He doesn’t need to also be adopted!! Ugh!!

Danny, You Need To Calm Down
Me: "I need to nerf Danny a bit for this fic. I should have him only reveal and use his intangibility."
Danny: *is still BAMF and kicks ass*
Me: "Hmm... I did not think this through."
---
I am serious, though. If you're creative enough and have watched enough superhero media then you'll be able to find all sorts of unusual applications to some of Danny's powers.
With intangibility alone, all Danny needs to do is stand there and let his opponent tire themselves out trying to just land a blow and then fight back. If he has some more melee or martial arts training, he could use a nerve strike and bam, one-shot knock-out. And that's not even counting super strength or flight or telekinesis or why is this boy so overpowered?! /rhetorical
And if you know me, you know how much I love writing a good OP BAMF Danny. But it can be pretty restricting too. With an abundance of powers and a proven track record to gain more powers when necessary, it's not exactly easy to keep Danny down. There are a few known weaknesses we can use to our advantage here, but they come with their own issues:
Major Weaknesses
Blood Blossoms
We've seen blood blossoms are pretty effective on ghosts from the "Infinite Realms" episode in Season 3, but only on Danny's ghost half. I always thought it was a bit strange, since Danny has used ghost powers in his human form so technically it should still affect him? But that's just a personal headcanon so feel free to ignore that.
But! Since Danny could just transform (if he can get past the total agony it causes him) then he'll be fine again. Blood blossoms are also edible, as proven by Tucker, which makes me wonder if Danny could eat them in his human form and make it out unscathed? Since it's only his ghost half that's susceptible to them.
However, it's commonly headcanon'd that blood blossoms are extinct as we only see them in this episode back in the 1600s from the Salem Witch Trials. But canon also tends to bring up some really interesting concepts and then just... never mention them again, so it's possible they're still out there and the Fentons just never learned of them.
Ecto-ranium
We don't see this one come up too many times in fanfiction, if only because many of us have totally blocked out the episode it aired in, "Phantom Planet", from our minds entirely. Ecto-ranium is essentially the equivalent of kryptonite, but for ghosts. (Unsurprising, seeing as Phantom Planet likely took inspiration from Christopher Reeve's Superman II.)
This does come with some plotholes of its own, seeing as intangibility had allowed the ecto-ranium to pass through the Earth despite ecto-ranium supposedly making it impossible for ghosts to use their powers? I'm still trying to wrap my head around that one, I won't lie...
So obviously this weakness also has some shaky ground to stand on.
Mind Control
We see in "Control Freaks" that Danny is pretty susceptible to mind control as well, so long as it comes from the right source. We learn that Vlad continues to collect ghostly artifacts, so it's entirely possible he could find another magical device of equal power and use. Freakshow himself comes from a family with a wide range and collection of ghostly artifacts.
It's also possible that ghosts like Undergrowth could be able to control Danny as well, as he was able to puppet Sam through his vines and plants.
Danny is still capable of breaking through the mind control, if given enough reason to. There is also proof, though, that he can do a lot of damage to himself and others before that time comes. Just food for mischievous author thought.
Plasmius Maximus
This device only appears in the episode "Maternal Instincts" but Vlad had created it to shorten out Danny's powers for three hours. This is another instance of an interesting concept that disappeared after one episode, but considering how Danny used it against Vlad, maybe the man just didn't want to risk it a second time.
Nonetheless, this does prove Danny's powers can be temporarily locked away. How this is possible isn't exactly clear, but I've taken to using a yarn knot analogy to explain it. I won't bore you with that explanation (unless you're actually interested) since it leans more into fanon and headcanons than canon.
Lesser Weaknesses
Blackmail
Now this isn't really a surprise to anyone since Danny is a good kid and most superheroes have this weakness, but Danny is very much susceptible to threats made against his family and loved ones. We see that Freakshow uses this against Danny in "Reality Trip" to make him do his dirty work, as in: collect all the pieces for the Reality Gauntlet.
We might make jokes that Danny could easily defeat anyone he comes across, but the truth of the matter is that he takes these threats seriously and he's lucky more people haven't used it against him.
Inexperience
This one is more understandable and maybe not even technically a weakness but this boy is so silly stupid sometimes it's honestly really endearing. He doesn't have the best grasp of his powers so he can make all sorts of unfortunate mistakes. Danny is the type of person who learns as he goes, and thanks to the fact his one eligible teacher also so happens to be the same guy trying to murder his father... his options are a little limited.
However, this can be easily fixed given enough time and practice. Danny might not have any formal training but he's also proven to be a very fast learner which could very well make up for whatever else he lacks. Due to the unique nature of himself and his powers, there's also a chance that even with a mentor he would still largely be self-taught.
---
It can still be pretty hard to write though. When you want to have high stakes, then you need to have a credible threat. And for a kid that has a gazillion powers, all with countless applications, it gets a lot more complicated. Honestly sometimes Danny might not have even needed the new power if he just applied one he already had in a different way? But so is the life of a teenage, overpowered superhero.

Danny gets Batman’s soul 21.2.23
DP x DC. Danny Phantom, Batman. Ghost King Danny, no take backsies (it’s not possible to return a soul you’ve been given).
Something is going very wrong in the DC universe (when is it not), probably Gotham specifically, and somehow they end up needing to summon the Ghost King to deal with it.
Now the High King of the Infinite Realms is not as easy to summon as a lesser being, instead of being able to to offer your soul for a deal once summoned, your soul is the price to summon him the first place.
John Constantine is not an option (he tried but the circle rejected him outright -some powerful entities get wards to stop him specifically) so Batman bites the bullet instead.
Danny gets summoned. And he helps of course! They didn’t even have to trade him anything (and he’s absolutely freaking out over what they paid to summon him in the privacy of his own head)!
So! Danny has a soul now! (Batman’s soul!) ... What is he supposed to do with this?

Hello yes hi um quick question
WHEN WERE YALL GONNA TELL ME THAT THE FANDOM DEPOWERS DANNY AND YET HE IS STILL OVERPOWERED AS FUCK?!??
I have just finished reading his wiki page (don't judge me I needed a refresher for if I'm going to write anything ever even if I don't share it with anyone) and what the absolute fuck.
The fan base tends to give him ice, invisibility, intangible, flight, maybe eldritch shape shifting or some shit like that, his ghostly wail, vacuum resistance and maybe possibly the ability to command ghosts (if Ghost King ofc) but that isn't even close to all that fucker can do (maybe very rarely yall will touch on his software fusion).
HE HAS A VERY VERY LONG LIST OF POWERS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ELECTROKINESIS, PYROKINESIS, POSSIBLE TELEPORTATION (THAT ONE IS DEBATED ON), ECTO-CONSTRUCTS AND A MILLION OTHER THINGS! HE CAN EVEN USE PHOTOKINESIS FFS?! HE EVEN HAS AN ABILITY CALLED THE VOID WHICH BASICALLY ALLOWS HIM TO FILL A ROOM IN TRUE DARKNESS THAT ONLY HE CAN SEE IN?!??!!
Basically why did nobody tell me just how OP my son Danny is? Specifically in the dc crossovers since that's mainly what I read lately. Imagine him interacting with Duke when he can use photokinesis or imagine he rarely uses his fire powers so no body expects it when he just... melts all of Freezes ice in an instant. I'm just saying someone (who can write better then I ofc) has gotta make an extremely OP Danny/DC story Saiki K style ya know (preferably without the incest brother thing going on ya know).
(If they exist please give me suggestions I'll forever be grateful)

Danny Phantom intangibility
So Danny's Power of intangibility never made sense to me I mean in the sense that as a ghost Danny should be in a constant state of intangibility. and he should have the ability to make himself solid and not the other away around.
This is especially true since they always show him struggling with his intangibility all the time as if its a constant battle to stay solid in human form.

So, as much as I like seeing Danny in the Teen Titans or Young Justice or hanging out with the BatKids (or ship him with Cass or Raven), it makes more sense for him to be an early member of the Justice League.
Let's face, Dan's powerful, but he's not "Senior Justice League" powerful. I find it hard to believe he'd be able to take on Wonder Woman or Superman solo, and he definitely doesn't stand a chance against Dr. Fate or Martian Manhunter. Bring in the whole team and he's done for.
Furthermore, he didn't stay in Amity Park throughout the whole show, so the whole "sealed city" thing doesn't really work without de-canonizing a LOT of episodes.
The way I figure it, Danny makes more sense as an early if not founding member. Dan could reasonably take on the JL before it's founded, particularly if he and the founding members are close to the same age.
If one must have Dan take on the League and win, he doesn't have to be stronger, just smart enough and maybe luckier. More than one way to skin a cat is all I'm saying.

(continuation of short prompt #6. This prompt has me in a chokehold now.)
Ok, so hear me out. Going the "Jack is secretly another Kryptonian" route, what if Jack didn't even know he was from another planet?
(#) = Notes at the end of the post
← previous next →
Jack (kryptonian name?) gets sent away at the same time Clark does, but neither parents nor children know it and Jack is quite a few years older than Clark too. What if along the way to Earth Jack's pod gets damaged, causing a brain injury (explains his absent-mindedness and terrible memory in the future and possible terrible hearing). He no longer has any memory of where he came from, the few memories he had at least, and where he crash lands, it's miles from any town.
So here's itty bitty Jack wandering around, following the roads because why not, and he gets picked up by a couple driving by, who actually almost run him over. They step on it to the nearest hospital in the next town to get him treated for his injuries from the crash landing. When it's discovered he has no memory of where he came from and no one steps forward to claim him, they file to adopt him. The name Jack Fenton is born.
He grows up his entire life as a normal human being aside from his unusual height and a bit of ungodly strength that he has to be really careful of. Despite living a normal life he always feels like he's been missing something, always wonders where it is he came from. He gets small snippets of information that pass through his head, but they're there and gone in the blink of an eye, except for one thing.
The Phantom Zone.
Not knowing that it was the form of prison used by Kryptonians for their criminals and confusing it for the "Ghost Zone", home of ghosts(1), Jack dedicates his entire adult life to figuring out how to get to it to study anything that lies beyond it so that maybe he'll figure out what he's been missing. He meets Maddie along the way, falls in love, and has two incredible, brilliant kids. Him and Maddie build the ghost portal, Danny steps inside of it and accidentally gets it to work while being fused with the essence of an entire new dimension crashing open on top of him. His Kryptonian heritage is what allows him to survive.
Everything that happens in DP still happens, except maybe Jack pays just a bit more attention to the subtle changes in his son. With the help of Maddie, he figures out Danny's secret identity a year and a half in and they use the security logs in the lab to figure out what caused it. They are absolutely devastated, Jack especially so, because it was his obsession to start with that led up to the accident happening. Jack and Maddie both agree to wait for Danny to feel comfortable enough to tell them on his own (just like Jazz. She learned that kind of patience from her parents at some point).
At some point, Jack learns the existence of Superman and the fact that he's an alien, a Kryptonian. This triggers a few memories for Jack, he discovers snippets of his heritage, and he rejoices in the fact that he might have family after all. The emptiness he's felt since he landed on this planet has been partially filled. Through some grade A snooping with the help of Maddie, they track down and discover Superman's civilian identity and where the Man of Steel grew up. Jack keeps that information close to his heart and saves it for a rainy day.
That rainy day comes when the GIW bust down his front door and open fire on his son right at the dinner table. Once barricaded in the Ops Center, he decides to send Danny to the only place he can think of where he might be safe and hidden. Smallville, Kansas. Hometown of the Man of Steel himself.
Giving his son everything he might need on his way to safety, he also includes a personal letter of introduction to Clark in the travel pack and then proceeds to turn around and give the GIW hell with the love of his life by his side.
Are there any fics centered around the perspectives of Danny's parents? If so, I might need to find some. This has lit a fire and I had no idea it would grow this big. This is not the direction I thought the short prompt would be going but I'm seriously liking it.
Notes:
(1) I mean, he technically isn't wrong? I read that anyone imprisoned in the Phantom Zone are basically reduced to the form of a shade, i.e. they can't interact with anything or talk to anyone besides with the use of telepathy. Correct me if I'm wrong tho! I'm not as well versed in DC lore but I'm doing my best to learn.

The Sokovia Accords will force all enchanted people to register and be monitored by the government. Not only would the enchanted person's name be written down but most likely their power and how to restrain or weaken them if needed.
This means that a government person can easily take the list and sell it to individual people or force an enchanted person to do things for them. The list can also be leaked on purpose or by accident and a bunch of enchanted people would be put in danger by both the public and people who would like to use them.
This is a big problem for the Vigilantes who hide their identities to keep their families and loved ones safe. The civilians who have been minding their own business and probably don't have any experience fighting.
It's especially a problem for Danny, as he never had to keep his identity a secret from his ghost villains, he keeps his identity from the humans that could what to recreate his accident to gain power.

dp headcanon that one of danny's powers that he has (whether yet to be unlocked or just undiscovered) is the ability to open portals to and from the ghost zone bc he died when one opened right on top of him. its arguably his most op power bc no ghost has that kinda power, they rely on other objects to do that for them and even those objects are highly sought after and coveted.
my biggest draw to this outside the allure of convenience is just how fkn funny it'd be bc my boy danny is ALWAYS looking for shortcuts. the gz will be filled w danny's miscellaneous crap he put there so he'd have quick access to it, to the point where he can and will lose things either because he forgot where in the gz he put it or a ghost'll be like 'oooo neat! free things!' and nab it bc its unguarded lol
not to even mention when danny just gets tired of fighting he could just open a portal and launch the ghost through and close it. best case scenario the ghost'll give up the fight, worst case danny gets a 20 minutes break while the ghost has to fly all way to his parents' portal then back to where he is. repeat this until danny wears them out or he catches them off guard by them expecting another portal but surprise!! soup time!!! :D
also it helps w aus where danny isn't perma stationed in amity bc oh nice my son can go live w new family elsewhere,,,
