Epiphany: suppose the teenaged Jon Kent is of Earth-0 but from the Superman Reborn timeline, while the younger was born during Convergence as we all read. Superman Reborn had exactly zero consequences on anyone's history, save Clark and Lois, even Jon. Jon didn't get reduced to two orbs and remereged into a singular being combining the whole histories of his parents to match his. His parents experienced a hypertime no one else in the universe did.

That could mean the reason Harvest was crucified in RHatO and SoKE makes allusion to Superboy (2011) is because the Teen Jon is whatever amalgamation became of Lobdell’s Superboy from that timeline, though the original could still be out there somewhere.

I’m deep in the Batman and Danny Phantom fandom, so how about something different.

Where in the Ghost Zone, after the Fentons discover who Phantom is, CW looks at the young king and decides, it may be better for him to have a healthier view in life and to be king a little older or something. So he throws him into another universe and Danny is reborn without his memories or powers in the DCU.

Years later, during a battle in some nondescript place, the JL is fighting some ppl, maybe CADMUS and the batfam is there investigating. Nightwing goes off and finds a lab with a device in it. He doesn’t touch it, and he’s talking in his comm when it suddenly turns on, forming a portal right on top of the hero. He screams and disappears, causing Bab to freak out because he flatlines. She tells the bats and Batman freaks out, heading to where Nightwing was. They find the portal swirling but no Dick. They find his escrima sticks and some blood, and realize he died. The ppl there, Batman, red hood, Red Robin and robin; start grieving but have to go help with the fight as the portal closes. Later, when the league starts searching the base for info on the portal device, Batman comes upon what looks like Nightwing, severely injured with white hair and his uniform inverted with black and white. He bleeds green and his eyes are the same shade, the same shade as the Lazarus Pits. He asks Bab if Dicks vitals say he’s dead, and she confirms it. Still, Batman knows this is his so , his first baby, and runs to him. The other batfam see him and also go to him. Batman and fam see that Dick is super out of it, saying shit hurts and would they still love him if he was dead. He’s crying and they’re crying and Batman says of course he’s love him still. Dick asks if he’d love him if he wasn’t human anymore, and Batman just says, always.

Dick is hugged by everyone and Batman is the last to hold on and dick says I love you and that’s good to hear before passing out in Batman’s arms. A light transforms him back to regular looking Nightwing who is still super hurt and his green blood changes to red and the fam freaks the fuck out bc Bab says he’s alive again but his vitals are all freaky.

Later, when Nightwing is in medical, passed out, Superman is there to witness, with some doctors, that dick just phases through the bed and floor, causing his med devices to flatline. He warns the base and all the heroes try to stop the floating phaser before he reaches the ground and phases into the ground and out the watchtower. Not even the Martians can catch him. Right before he hits the lowest floor to space, Batman finally catches him and is the only one to be able to hold him. He takes him back to medical and no one but the batfam can touch him.

Idk why happens after this but I thought reincarnated Phantom!Dick Grayson would be great.

Over the last week, I decided to go ahead with bookmarking all the fics I've recommended over the years on AO3 since I abide by tumblr poll results always (and man pour one out for all the fic that never made it to AO3 or has since been deleted, sooooo many gems lost to time!) and it was a bit more than the ~3,000 I was expecting:

Hopefully, this will be easier than browsing the hundreds of recs posts I've made, since you can filter for any of the author's tags now! These are mostly focused on Star Wars and DC fandom, but I did my time in the anime mines and occasional tours through some TV fandoms or movies. You can dig into everything unfiltered and start your own filtering, or the bigger fandoms you'll find:

MAJOR FANDOMS: Each of these should have 100+ at minimum and, in the case of Star Wars, literally almost half of them are in that fandom. Look, Star Wars fandom might be a trash fire in a lot of ways, but it is ON FIRE with some good fic. (Older bookmarks not guaranteed to match my current sentiments, especially re: the Jedi, but they did catch my fancy at that point in time!)

STAR WARS: - All Star Wars -OR- All Star Wars minus the Obi-Wan/Anakin ship - OR- Nothing BUT Obi-Wan/Anakin

BATMAN/DC: - DC can sometimes be tricky, but you can do a Batman* search and get most of them (though, sometimes Nightwing* or Young Justice* or Superman* will catch some of the others). Honestly, though, you might want to just do a search for what character or dynamic you like and have fun from there, because otherwise you're getting a face full of my Dick Grayson Is The Center Of The Universe And I'm Making That Everyone Else's Problem agenda. ;)

MARVEL/MCU: - Marvel* will probably get most of the various properties, though you may want to filter for Defenders* or Guardians of the Galaxy* if you're interested -OR- Marvel* without the Thor/Loki - These focus a lot on the Thor* fandom if you want to witness the results of like 8 years of constant voracious reading in that fandom (Minus the ship), because, seriously, I read a LOT of Odinson family fic. - Bonus, just do a search for Maximoff* to find some really good X-Men: First Class-verse because, listen, I have been ALL ABOUT the Maximoff twins since long before the movies or MCU brought them over and I will DIE ON THE HILL of "Marvel, make Magneto their bio-dad again or I'm never reading another comic of yours ever".

TOLKIEN/LORD OF THE RINGS/SILMARILLION/HOBBIT: - Tolkien* -OR- Hobbit* -OR- Lord of the Rings* searches will turn up most of my Elf-hunting, I primarily focus on the Sindar Elves, but look I can't resist my problematic Feanorian faves or that I will die on the hill that Fingolfin is the best ever. (You have NO IDEA how sad I am that so much fic on Stories of Arda or FFNET is not easily bookmarked on AO3, sob. I externally bookmarked a few of the bigger ones, but sooo many shorter faves are missing from my recs tag.)

CLAMP: - X/Tokyo Babylon legitimately bums me out because it's not a huge fandom and yet so much of what was written was pre-AO3 and lost when CLAMPesque went down or was never brought over from Livejournal, yet this fandom (well, the Seishirou/Subaru pairing) still burns brightly in my heart.

MINOR FANDOMS: Ones that probably only have under 100 bookmarks (often around the 20-30 bookmarks range), but will at least give you a place to start! Without Vandal's and Jason Blood's help, he would have no idea what to do, and yes, he is thankful for Vandal. How did this even happen? And his two spawns Danny and Danielle were bringing already much chaos to Gotham, all with the color black turned pink. Yes, Pinkman the Bat, and PinkMobile. Gotham is now Babie Town.

or Central City, where it's raining chocolate. Metroplis, where all but Superman can fly. Yes. Superman, no matter what he tried, can't fly. That was how his spawn meets their new Grandpa Mxyzptlk.

+ A/N Danny and Dani loves this world and place. True they had memories of their old life still, but being Reborn is so much fun!!

These are my first design tries at Conner's new supersuit. And since I can't seem to be able to choose, I'm gonna have to ask you guys to vote for your favorite.

IMPORTANT: It doesn't mean that the winner will be the one I will choose. This poll is only a way for you all to help me if you want to. I may end up changing my mind or mix elements from every costumes to make the final version.

You also need to be aware that this is the suit Conner wore when he was in Cadmus. That's why there is no symbol and jacket (yet). I know from my previous poll that a lot of you guys liked the fact Kon customized his suit (belts, knee pads, etc). He will have a new costume after the events of Hope Reborn where he will customize his suit more. For now, think "superhero made in a lab to replace superman, commissioned by LexCorp" so a very tech centered look.

Also, feel free to add comments if there are elements that you like a lot. It's also really helpful for me to know why you picked your fav! 😎

Newest Jon Theory

Assuming that Jon is the presumed dead fetal child of the Injustice Superman all grown, how does that work? The 5th Dimension.

Jon has already been the subject of ire of one 5th Dimensional Imp directly and indirectly by his son. It's very possible that they will be made to blame for the 2018 mess, too. Teen Jon , having spent his entire life from "birth" until the volcano in an imaginary Truman Show scenario, may have had a piece of the 5th dimension take root in himself. It reveals itself like Clark's old Superman Blue look, but it more akin to Yz, the Thunderbolt.

This does put my last "Composite Jon" theory to bed, but this one seems far more likely.

June 1983. Lex Luthor and Brainiac get a makeover, with updated character designs courtesy of Ed Hannigan. Luthor's green-and-purple battlesuit was an upgrade, but the real winner was Hannigan's new robotic Brainiac. In his previous humanoid guise, Brainiac hadn't been exactly intimidating, with his pink leotard and white cuffs and collar, but his new form was actually frightening. (If you're wondering, this arrived at least a year and a half before THE TERMINATOR.)

The new origins were not a reboot so much as a revamp. The Brainiac chapter, written by Marv Wolfman and pretty obviously inspired by STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE, has Brainiac's previous form disincorporated and rebuilt by a planet of living computers. During this process, the mind of Brainiac experiences a series of surreal visions, depicted with suitable gravitas by Gil Kane:

This experience leaves Brainiac convinced, a) of the existence of a supreme being, whom he calls "the Master Programmer"; b) that this supreme being seeks to destroy him, Brainiac; and c) that Superman is really the Master Programmer's "Angel of Death"!

In his terrifying new form — if Brainiac's appearance wasn't creepy enough, he and his new octopus-skull starship are actually part of the same living machine, whose cables and circuits can become animated at will — Brainiac redefines his own role as follows:

In customary evil robot/computer villain fashion, the reborn Brainiac's personality is coldly and ruthlessly logical, but all his logic is based around the premise that his new mission is to build an army to kill God! His principal strategy is to depopulate whole worlds, leaving a handful of survivors whom he then forces to fight for him, since they have nowhere else to go and no alternative other than instant death.

In short, this revamp put Brainiac firmly in the big leagues of cosmic supervillainy, in every respect. Everything DC has subsequently done with Brainiac, both in the comics and elsewhere, has been a significant step down, both conceptually and graphically.
