SJM doesn't write post-SA healing journeys. Again, you were right.

We've had male and female characters who were SAed, in TOG, Lysandra and Fenrys come to mind, in ACOTAR it's Rhys and Lucien and Gwyn, in CC it was Lidia (similar situation as Rhys/Lucien).

These aren't books for deep exploration of post-SA healing. I am sorry. This is an incredibly tough subject, without a singular answer. SO anything she'd do, wouldn't be taken well. Some will say 'too quick!' others will say 'not quick enough!' and everyone will have an opinion. The only reason Nesta got an extended healing (and not from SA) was because SJM used the same methods she used for her own issues. Working out, meditation, being with friends, balancing the physical and the mental, relying on her SO. Beyond that, all of SJMs 'healing' is training and being in love. Or nothing at all.

Gwynriels cant accept the fact that Gwyn is a secondary character. She is not more important than Emerie, or Mor, or anyone else, who's had terrible trauma. Her main was Nesta. Nesta's healed and Gwyn is secondary to Nesta. Gwyn's healing journey is over. She because stronger mentally and physically, she trained, she reached and conquered her 'mountain'. and that is all she needed to do.

They dont want to understand and accept that no one is interested in an 800 page of Gwyn's post-SA healing journey. Even they aren't. That's the truth. They want her with Azriel. Getting it on, having sex, being mated. They don't want to read any 'healing journey'. They want her going on missions, swinging her sword, being a badass, being with Azriel, having Gwynriel sex and having a normal fantasy heroine book. it's all performative. They just want Gwynriel. Is all.

so there's a lot of ways to chop this one…

"racism and capitalism still exists in the future" is a trope that it's kind of limiting / always grates me in some ways (it feeds into the anti-racism of ppl whose politics doesnt trascend idealist philosophy -> that is, it is an anti-racism that can't conceive of an end to racism bc it doesn't actually have a political project that address the material causes of racism and just tries to fix the "natural prejudices" away with "education". in other words, it cant portray a word without racism bc it cant *conveive* of one.) . however i think im more open to it this time / this series since s11 onwards the focus has been so much on telling stories about the present with scifi make up on. and i think this one manages to do that rlly well. ___

another vertice to look this one on is whether... is it really "doing anything" to have racism portrayed on screen (and other bigotry) in a scifi story? if u already experience racism or understand it happens, who is served by this? it's hurtful to watch and it's like missing the chance to "show a different world" is possible thru scifi. and the counterargument to that is on a """""color blind"""""" 2020s world it is rlly cathartic and re-affirming to have stories that *show* the realities of the world, and that dont shy away from showing those realities in fear of them coming off as "over the top" (bc they arent. some ppl will still walk away from this ep thinking "haha fun satires" but like. this is literally how White Rich People Talk. in real life.......) and again in this one time i think it works really well bc doctor who has… probably never done this? lol there's moments with martha and ryan for example, but never going this hard on it. but im open to discussion tbh. i think the angle of "is this a story about racism for white people to learn or is it a cathartic for *black / brown people to experience catharsis in" is gonna be one for fruitful discussion in the future. ___

I love that scene in 6x05 so much. Carina looked beautiful and I loved them talking about their first night together and you can tell Carina is trying so hard to get back to a good place with Maya and Maya is trying to live in the moment but you're right, she is to far gone at that point. 😭 It's kind of crazy no one especially at the station really picked up on it except Theo. I love Peggy and Dayna and wish they could be on more so that Carina had friends that weren't connected to Maya.

I honestly don't know about Jack's living situation because I don't pay attention to him lol. Like in Season 4 he was living with Inara I think? And then in Season 5 after Dean died he stayed at the boathouse for a bit but I don't think we ever saw him at a place after that? So who knows. Eli is so boring and a waste of time. ironically this took me a while because i was participating in an insane about the crusher family moment so severe i am lightheaded. anyway. i feel like i dont have a ton of meaningful things to say about tuvok yet except "i generally like him i think he has a lot of interesting moments i just wish they didnt regress his characterization gains with such regularity" but i do enjoy him and maybe i will come back to this when i have more coherent thoughts

love her confidence tbh like she knows she can do it all and do a great job of it. she has such a wide variety of skills between her actual job and her hobbies and i think that's very fun to see. i also think she's spectacular in the Some Fuckshit Is Happening To The Enterprise mystery episodes like im glad they gave those to her a lot bc it works within her skillset of like. ok this is how i would go about examining a scientific hypothesis this is how i would break the problem down to something manageable so i think that's neat, and i also just think gates mcfadden is very good at carrying the tension of those episodes.

fucking TERMINAL picard disease. remember me is like the prime example of it to me to the point where i literally rewrote part of the script one time but just. so many of her plotlines get taken over to instead be about her thing with picard in ways that don't actually progress anything. and so many of the things that should be about her and wesley end up being about picard and wesley. and like clearly these are importantly dynamics in all their lives but it feels like there's a lot that gets sacrificed in the name of putting picard at the center

also i do think they have a problem with like. not letting her be significantly wrong a lot? i noticed this in like s6 but the plot frequently kind of curves to make sure she's right about things like with both ethics and suspicions they introduce new elements of the plot to be like yeah actually she did not do anything wrong and i just think that holds a character back.

i never know what opinions anyone has on any of these characters unless ive recently seen something that made me mad lmao but. idk sam @sallytwo and i were just talking about this but any attempt to reduce the beverly and wesley dynamic to like "it's good and they're close" or "it's bad and they're distant" is such a doomed endeavor. it's so much more complicated than that like they're close in that they clearly love each other a lot and they don't have a lot of open conflict but they're both deeply repressed people when it comes to expressing meaningful emotions and it definitely takes a really significant toll. again no idea where it falls on the like popular/unpopular opinion scale but it seems like a lot of people don't quite know what to do with that relationship and that's fair because it is. odd especially when you try to figure out what the writers meant for it to be.

I will say, the only potentially fun part of it, would be maybe seeing more fully the manipulation tactics she employs and how every single argument she's pulled Eddie into just fuels her more.

hang on like almost none of u play it but i wanna share my #thoughts on the various gw2 story arcs ... hii

base story - i honestly dont have much to say 👍 its very obviously the first thing written for gw2 and its not BAD imo its just a bit cheesy. which im ok with i think its cute i love trahearne i love the order mentors but i think they killed those off way too early in the story. tybalt forever. however the last arc (everything after claw island) drags on FOREVER and they need to cut the airship part out of victory or death

season 1 - scarlet is a very fun villain But otherwise i wasnt too into this season it was kind of just character introductions. also can i be honest i couldnt play past tower of nightmares bc u cant solo it

season 2 - s2 was a very fun set up for the expac. i dont like dry top i love the silverwastes The labyrinth mission was fun tbh. and that crazy sylvari guy. the zephyrites are nothing to me. the playing as caithe bits were annoying (stealth mission 😐😐) but i liked the reveal at the end. i think ppl give caithe too much shit for how she acted in her early life she was literally 2 years old.

heart of thorns - originally this expansion made me rage quit the game for several years bc i hated the maps so much but now i love love heart of thorns its my favorite. tue vibes the environment the whole set up of it being a race against time before the jungle overwhelms the pact bc theyre in unknown territory and in an extremely unfavorable position w most of their firepower missing was so fun + i love the chak. :) THOUGH im biased bc u do kind of have to play this expac w a sylvari to get the full extent of mordremoths threat imo

rata novus arc was kind of unnecessary to me but whatever. FUCK the migraine achievement though. probably the hardest story content in terms of difficulty. i wish we had another one or two story chapters set in the last map instead of directly jumping at mordremoth.

season 3 - my favorite bits here were raising aurene tbh. i love lazarus' design but i didnt play gw1 so i wasnt invested in those story points. the maps were whatever But i love braham dearly and i hate the shit ppl give him for this season bc afaik hes the first person in the commanders friend group to actually like. oppose them for once instead of just following along w everything. and like he did it bc he was mourning his mother who died horribly its only natural hed act rashly + not listen to reason. he was desperate to prove himself after living in the shadow of his mothers legend (eir can die in a ditch tho she sucked) in conclusion Be so nice to braham

i got sidetracked braham is my favorite character uhhhh im kind of... meh at this season being a set up to path of fire didnt hate it didnt love it either

path of fire - i liked the environments + characters + utlizing mounts for traversal But hated kasmeer and her fantasy christian bullshit 😭😭. I think the "gods left tyria to die bc they didnt want to deal with one of their own bc blah blah Consequences" was kind of dumb/lazy. the expac is overshadowed by s4 later tbh HOWEVER it still has probably my favorite story chapter in this entire game (the departing ❤️❤️❤️)

the bits abt stealing jokos army disguised as one of his generals was so fun to me even tho i hated the mummy mission lol. balthazar as a villain was not impressive to me but i appreciated the break from constant elder dragon threat to it being Disgraced God Threat. and then we immediately jump back to dragon bullshit. i do wish we got more time with vlast he was kind of a nothing character ??? literally 30 seconds of screen time

season 4 - #jokosweep i love this season and its characters Joko is one of my favorite villains in this game i wish we got more time with him. i love koss. we get to reconcile with braham we meet blish and gorrik and i always love the asura. all the chapters here were very fun to play through imo EXCEPT the stealth mission. again. and dragonfall... ❤️ one of the best extra maps to me

i liked the characterization of kralkatorrik in the end but i think aurenes ascension came too soon.

icebrood saga - god i love the start of icebrood saga so so much the horror elements were SO cool to me. esp the scene w the fraenir and the vibes/environments were so hmm idk a good word. like scary stressful. also im biased to charr and this was charr focused so. like icebrood very much had the potential to be gw2s best story arc imo w that set up but. forged steel and champions just drag it down so much those two specific episodes were just bad and too damn long. especially forged steel my fucking god im never playing that shit again

champions had the issue of being EXTREMELY rushed and things just seemed to happen for no reason and primordus got literally 0 screentime and was written badly as just some Mindless Force of Nature imo. i do understand this is all consequences of covid + they were Rushing to wrap this arc up to prepare for new expac release but it just left me disappointed at the conclusion. the other episodes are very strong to me nonetheless and as long as i ignore champions and forged steel its fine lmao. i love crecia and malice and efram dearly

end of dragons - definitely the weakest of the 3 expansions LMAOOOOO i didnt care for anka she was kind of just edgy for the sake of being edgy. i didnt hate her i just didnt understand why she had to be in the story IMO if we got another full season w her as the main villain there it wouldve been better + a better set up for the expac in general. i love that they brought mai trin back + scarlet just a little bit with Revenant shenanigans. ivan the communist mole. joon was a very cool/fun character ill miss her. rama and his hat ❤️ but none of the maps or plot points really had me invested idk God i fucking hate new kaineng its so bad to traverse. the masteries also left something to be desired :-/ fishing got boring pretty fast sadly But i do really want those titles lol

i think eod just suffered from hype because this was very obviously the Closing Arc to the elder dragon storyline thats been central to the game for 10 years now and the entire thing just left me. disappointed. idk. i didnt mind the void plot point bc finally having a more concrete reason on why killing elder dragons w/o having replacements for their magic domains is catastrophical was better instead of just "ahh world blow up" but i do hate how they handled it? i wish we got more time with soo-won before she went crazy and also that we somehow got to save her tbh. my biggest pet peeve was how ALL the void enemies were just fucking retextures of previous dragon minions it felt lazy especially for a full expansion

i will say i enjoyed playing the last mission and i had a ton of fun i just didnt enjoy the conclusion to the story overall You know

i DONT like how they handled aurene because i dont think they shouldve used her as a fix it all solution to the elder dragon replacement problem + again i think her ascension happened too fast and i wouldve preferred it if it happened before/during the eod finale. idk i think it wouldve been more interesting if we had to find other beings for each domain of magic instead of just throwing it all on aurene Like the Pale Tree Is Right There As A Mordremoth Domain Conduit but what do i know... 🙄

A random headcanon: this is more theory ground than headcanon, tbh, on account of i am drawing from canon evidence. i think he is on good terms with his little brother. ok look heres how it is. we know dororo has a little brother but we know next to nothing about that brother or their relationship. one of the things we DO know is one of the many things-belonging-to-dororo that keroro broke as a kid and never told him about, dororo blamed on his little brother and was really pissed at him about it. yeah this happened when he was like, nine, but hes dororo hes. well he is consistently not even remotely a person who moves on from things just bc they were kids. besides when he confronts keroro about That Particular Shit-Getting-Broken Incident he specifically brings up how he got mad at his brother & his mom like it was A Big Deal With A Lasting Effect. BUT in ep 183 he sees giroro & garuru interacting and is just like yay! its nice to have brothers isnt it! and reasonably hes just at Cameo levels of appearing in that episode so its not like hed be doing much or getting much dialogue anyway but still, hes dororo, if he was still actively broken up about anything to do with his brother hed have more to say than just Brothers are good! ive been thinking about religion a lot lately, whether i believe or not, what do i believe in? do i have to believe? do i want to believe? something my brother said to me when i was young was “you need to believe in something” back then i kinda thought that meant in any religion, just pick one, but later on i kinda figured that meant just not to follow what your parents or other people tell you, but that you truly believe it or feel something? im kinda confused abt how people go to church and listen to someone talk and pray, do they feel something? and maybe they dont but it at least works for them. it does not work for me, i dont feel anything, i kinda just listen and pick apart what they are saying and end up mad bc i disagree so i never even get to listen to the entire thing. i also cant take them seriously singing up there, sometimes they go hard fr, i be jammin but other times im like? do they really gotta do all that? but also that must work for them and thats great… just not for me. waking up to do that? no thank u. it just genuinely does not interest me, i dont care for it all. its not for me. its not something i want to do, spend my time on, i dont see the point. i truly dont see the point. out of so many religions, i dont want to continue to learn about christianity/catholicism, i just think theres so much more therefore why stick to one thing? not to say thats necessarily what you are doing when u partake in ur religion but if i were to invest my time into something i rather it be something new, not what i grew up with and not what surrounds me now. do i want to invest my time on a new religion? no, not a priority for me atm, i kinda dont even get it. are we…using this for guidance? following/educating/believing certain sentences to guide your life? i can definitely understand that part and get it, but the parts about God and the idea of worshiping essentially a man seems a bit crazyyyy…. i just cant do it man, which ofc not everyone is taking it that seriously….i think… idk… ive only been around people who r pretending to be serious about and people who are 100% about it, so yea ppl im surrounded by have influenced why idc, but ive tried giving it a shot, i just dont really feel like lying or being hypocritical anymore. i believe theres definitely more out there, and the possibility of Gods, for sure ( i prefer virgin mary if ima believe in anything its gonna be a woman! ) but also like im not gonna take it too seriously…. like… its not that serious… also when i say that like i fw w her but its not like im praying to her, i have and pray for others in the sense that i wish for such and such but like never for myself. i think thats still selfish maybe, but im jst not really saying Dios or someone just in a general sense, which works? why not? omg dont get me started on repenting, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN? i think we all hope bad people get whats coming to them but also mistakes are mistakes, youll be fineee you can have self awareness and apologize, living and learning is basically what youre doing but i rather do it w/o the extra stuff, AGAIN if it works for others thats great, i dont think its taken that seriously anymore unless ur a hardcore old person but again growing up and seeing it or being surrounded by it is just like ughhh whateverrrrr ill probably ask around to people my age to see the point of view but idk i think the guidance part is nice but maybe like reading it? not so much living it and going by it, bc well…. ima live my life and ima rot if i wanna rot, i just dont wanna take it so seriously, i feel like if you arent kinda serious abt it then whats the point? other than pleasing others or a lil hobby. i need someone to ask me questions to see figure out what i believe in bc i think i know i feel like i have some answers but also maybe i dont
