PSA: Tumblr/Wordpress is preparing to start selling our user data to Midjourney and OpenAI.
you have to MANUALLY opt out of it as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
to opt out on desktop, click your blog ➡️ blog settings ➡️ scroll til you see visibility options and it’ll be the last option to toggle.
to opt out on mobile, click your blog ➡️ scroll then click visibility ➡️ toggle opt out option.
if you’ve already opted out of showing up in google searches, it’s preselected for you. if you don’t have the option available, update your app or close your browser/refresh a few times. important to note you also have to opt out for each blog you own separately, so if you’d like to prevent AI scraping your blog i’d really recommend taking the time to opt out. "Noun names" would include atypical names like "Sock" or "Brick" as well as more traditional names like "Rose" or "Hunter."

(Tw for ableism, meltdowns, elopement, etc.)
Hi, I am currently in an argument with someone in a comment section because they are saying that autism is not a disability. So I decided that I want to make a post about it, and thoroughly talk about it.
If you do not know me, hello. I am an autistic primarily nonspeaking teenager with mid-high support needs. I'm disabled.
I am honestly very tired of low support needs autistics saying that autism isnt disabling, because it very much is for me and a lot of other people. Just because your experience isnt the same as ours, doesn't cancel out our experience.
I will never live alone. I am a teenager who can not make food, or blow dry his own hair. My ability to use oral speech varies a lot, and when I can use it, I usually end up having severe meltdowns from it. I am in special ed. It hurts when I brush my hair. I have put myself in danger by running into the street. My emotions are extremely strong, so I often seem rude when I'm not, I just can't control the fact that when I feel something it's so incredibly strong that it hurts. I have little to no internal sensation. I could not bathe myself until I was 9 or ten, and even now I will not just go and take a shower myself; I need someone to tell me to, and I need a visual schedule to help me do so. And many more things.
The person's response was to then say that is not because I am autistic, that is because of the way mankind is. That my autism is not disabling, society is. And whilst I do agree that society is horrible to disabled people, and it would be much much easier to exist as a disabled person in this world if society was different, that doesn't change the fact that my autism is disabling. Me being nonspeaking is not because of society. Me being unable to care for myself is not because of society. Most of the things on that list are not because of society!
Just because low support needs people exist, does absolutely not give them the right to speak over us, and tell us what our experiences are or are not.
My autism is disabling. Listen to me. Listen to me. My life has been severely impacted because I am disabled. You can not sit there and tell me that me being unable to care for myself, and unable to live alone ever, isn't disabling, and that it's because of society.
I am disabled. Stop speaking over high support needs autistics.

Wow, absolutely embarrassed by the tumblr heads' recent actions. Couldn't be more unprofessional, and will absolutely blow up in his face if/when (another) transphobia suit is brought against Tumblr.

tbh i think the transmisogyny problem on this site is so widespread at this point that nothing short of a complete overhaul of moderation protocol is going to fix it. the current system as outlined by that guy on staff whos digging his own grave rn is apparently purely based on responding to user-submitted support tickets, which relies on A) the users on this site having enough trust in the moderators to believe that submitting a support ticket might actually make some sort of difference, and B) the users on this site not WEAPONIZING that same support ticket system to unfairly target users who they dislike for personal reasons. Neither of these conditions were likely to be met even BEFORE staff had multiple scandals regarding unfair moderation of transfeminine users' content, and any trust that users may have had in that system has been completely eroded now. If staff GENUINELY wants to address this problem, they need to be proactive about it. there are plenty of tags where these people are known to gather. There is literally an entire third-party browser extension dedicated to flagging unsafe individuals. It's not like they're difficult to find. We've seen pretty clearly that staff has the ability to nuke blogs and tags entirely. The fact that they won't even HIDE tags like #radfem, #terfs please interact, etc. shows that they don't actually have any intention of making this site safer for trans women. they just want everyone to shut up about it. Even just removing the ability for terfs to find each other on this site could make a huge difference, but rather than do the bare minimum staff has decided to let one guy make whiny excuses and very loudly and publicly misgender a trans woman who they nuked for no reason. fucking embarrassing fr

I still need to fully watch the dev stream but genderless angels using masculine pronouns based on hierarchy is both extremely interesting & scratches that trans Gabriel itch even more. Could either interpret him as just simply being nonbinary and continuing to use he/him as a fuck you to the council and the system they adhere to while also being true to himself or just push it all the way and say he’s a transguy. Someone said something about the way the council instantly refers to him as an ‘it’ when he’s failed (while also making sense canonically with the way the hierarchy works and threatening his status with this usage) gives them the feeling of a parent unsatisfied with their child enough to ignore their wants to be referred and identify the way they choose as if it is a privilege. I think Gabriel’s connection and identity with gender is heavily up to interpretation and honestly he can be whatever you want him to be, but I’m choosing to connect his he/him genderless transness etc with things I’ve personally experienced. the trans allegory is strong with this one

For the purpose of this poll "nonbinary" is used as an umbrella term to include any gender identity other than binary man and woman. If you consider yourself to be outside the gender binary at all, this poll is for you!
