The rain’s been falling all afternoon.

Not the angry, thunderous kind—but soft, steady, like a memory that refuses to be forgotten. It taps gently on your bedroom window, polite and persistent, like it’s asking to come in.

Just like she used to.

You’re cross-legged on the floor of your childhood bedroom, home for the weekend under the pretense of “helping out,” though your mom's real agenda became obvious the moment she handed you a roll of packing tape and said, “Before I turn this room into my plant baby headquarters, please deal with your hoarder era.”

Typical.

Now you’re surrounded by a mess of dust-coated binders, old notebooks, a few cheerleading medals tangled in dried-out friendship bracelets, and a shoebox full of theater ticket stubs and glitter pens. You weren’t expecting nostalgia to hit you like this. You weren’t expecting her to hit you like this.

You didn’t expect to find it.

But there it is.

The worn-out, pink hardcover notebook. The one you used to carry everywhere in 7th grade, practically glued to your chest. It’s covered in doodles, the corners bent from years of shoving it into too-small bags. Every other page is filled with chaotic scrawls of Swift lyrics, glitter gel pen hearts, and entries with dramatic titles like:

“Why does Natasha Romanoff suck at following formations?!”

“Natasha is so rep coded.”

“I dreamed she kissed me and now I hate everything.”

It’s a time capsule of middle school drama, cringe, and too-much-feelings.

Gossip. Crushes. Class rants. And of course—her.

Natasha Romanoff.

Basketball captain. Number 13. Team captain of the entire women's varsity team.

Your mortal enemy.

Your unexpected teammate in that chaotic interschool cheering-basketball collab.

Your secret crush.

Your almost.

Your never.

You flip another page.

A folded sheet of purple stationery. Scented. Faded. Familiar.

You freeze.

You know this.

Your heart stumbles over its own beat.

You found it taped inside your locker before the final round of your seventh-grade cheerleading competition—the national interschool one where your team shared the spotlight with the basketball squad. You were too nervous to open it then, too distracted by the music and pressure and adrenaline and her. So, you kept it. Promised yourself you’d read it “later.”

But “later” turned into high school. And high school turned into distance. And distance turned into silence.

Until now.

Until this rain.

You unfold the letter carefully. The edges are curled, worn by time, but the ink remains clear. Almost painfully so.

You must have. You think you did. You remember being so obvious with her—laughing too loud when she was near, staying behind after every joint practice just to talk to her about anything and everything.

But maybe you were too scared.

Maybe the timing was never right.

Maybe you missed your moment.

Because high school happened.

She transferred after ninth grade—scholarship to a private sports academy. You became full student leader, full social butterfly, full busy. She became full champion-athlete, full ghost, full gone.

You haven't spoken in years.

Until last month.

Until that game.

You remember walking into the university gym. Red and white jacket. Hair curled to perfection. Confidence dialed to maximum. Cheer captain mode fully activated.

And then you saw her.

Number 13.

Taller than you remember. Fiercer. Sharper jawline. Arms crossed during warmups. A thunderstorm wrapped in calm.

Until her eyes found you.

She blinked. And for just a second—barely a heartbeat—she smiled.

And it wrecked you.

You never said anything after. You cheered. She played. She won. You clapped. Then you walked away.

Because what else could you do?

But now—now this letter. Now this memory. Now the ache you’ve carried around like a hidden injury.

You wipe your eyes and reach for your phone.

And you don’t overthink it.

Your fingers move on instinct.

You take a picture of the letter.

You open her name in your contacts.

You look out the window, where the sky is gray and soft and honest. Where the rain falls like it’s washing the years away.

The fourth edition of the Call of Cthulhu rules, the first I owned, has a bunch of color plates tipped into the regular pages. They are mostly drawn from color plates that Games Workshop stuck into its own publication of the third edition rules — Chaosium apparently liked that, and did the same for some of their books for a while. Anyway, most of those plates featured art by English painter Les Edwards. Oddly, none of these really related to the Cthulhu Mythos, a fact that might have made them (and the world of the Call of Cthulhu RPG) all the more beguiling. It was my first real encounter with Edwards’ work (I wouldn’t learn he did the HeroQuest cover art until much later) and they pretty much made me a fan for life.

Of course, that meant I’d be on the hunt for Blood & Iron (1989), one of two art books Games Workshop produced in the ’80s (the other, a collab between Ian Miller and John Blanche called Ratspike, is still very much on my want-list, but is pretty universally priced outside my budget). I found it recently for a reasonable price (no easy task) and while it may be the mustiest book I currently own, it was well worth it to get such a concentrated dose of Edwards’ work.

He’s gnarly, man. All bug-eyes and too-wide grins and gore galore. Some of his fantasy stuff is kind of hilarious (his covers for Fighting Fantasy are pure, glorious cheese) and it’s is cool to see the process essay for the gross AF cover of The Lost and the Damned, but his horror work is really where it’s at for me. It’s so metal (to the point that, unsurprisingly, a number of his paintings were used as album covers). Even his pin-up paintings, which routinely feature big boobs and improbable poses, still come off as appealing somehow — that black idol is so good! I don’t really care about the titular high priestess, but she doesn’t bug me the way a lot of other artists pin-up work makes my eyes roll (see Chris Achilleos, tomorrow).

Anyway, a real wonderful time capsule of Edwards’ work. Oh! The cover. I gotta mention the cover — it’s the second version of the cover of a Graham Masterton novel called The Devils of D-Day (1978) which was used to replace Edwards’ earlier cover painting. It’s a novel about a demonic tank? I dunno. But the first cover! That was re-used for the Metallica single Jump in the Fire. One of my favorite bits of fantasy/metal cross-over trivia.

3 E-SOUL CRACK THEORY HELL YEAAHHHHH

Would it be a little insane to think that E-soul has THREE identities? Although it doesn't add up and, just because that there are 3 different suits, ALSO with the phrase of "E-soul is E-soul but is not E-soul" counts up to 3..." I may have a singular, just SINGULAR proof with this..

NUMBER 1!!!!!!........ — From the ULTIMATE PV, it showed that E-soul was fighting another E-soul, but how can we guarantee that it's the E-soul we know thats fighting the double? FIRST. it cannot be the E-soul that's in our timeline, Yang Chong, that's fighting against the clone. It's the E-soul that inspired Yang to be a hero (brown hair, brown eyes.)

We know that the time taken in the 2nd PVs are in the past. Details that add on into it is: Louri not being recognized, Dragonboy not being recognized, Queen fighting Du bao (year 40), and Hero Smile being one of the top 10 hero previously in the rankings (year 39)

NUMBER 2!!!!!!!........ — We all know that E-soul is signed in the shady Mighty Glory right? MG also has a branch which is TREEMAN, being run by the son of the high staff of MG, Mr. Shand.

Mr. Shand looked to be experimenting with the shadow clones seen in the first promotional video, which are called the Black Clad Organization as a group.

Pretty obvious that he's using these little clones to farm trust. And there really is nothing that could stop him from DOUBLING A HERO. I assume that it's a collab of the Spotlight Organization, working together just to be a trick to ones downfall.

"Hey, we can replicate heroes now, and implement the power of fear into them to create beings like ZERO!" Isn't that crazy? The copy of E-soul could be a project, and it's one step to the creation of Zero, a new GOD!!!

What else could I use as proof for this? The copy's lighting being tinted with purple? (ignore this i literally just rewatched episode 4 and e-soul's lightnings were purple in the flashback..) The same color of the fluids in the shadow capsule? The same color of the corrupted? (Ex. the "zombies" that Louri exploded, the purple creature in the first episode, the mutant that LC was fighting in the ULT PV.) the color of RED AND BLUE MIXED TOGETHER? THE SAME COLORS THAT ZERO HAS???? THE SAME CREATURE THAT APPEARS IN THE OPENING FOR ONLY A SECOND?? AM I INSANE????

what type of music do you hope bts makes when they come back ? it seems like they’ve been hinting at hyyh type music for the anniversary? but i also have a bad feeling. that we’re going to get dynabutterptd 2.0. maybe not that extreme but maybe more english pop songs. which is not the end of the world, i’m sure there will be good some parts, but still. i get the sense that bts (and if not them directly then hybe for sure) really want a grammy. i think we’re not going to see the end of it until they do

I think they'll continue to do what they've been doing and release both. I know they'll keep trying for a Grammy, even if at this point the guys seem to not give a fuck anymore it would STILL be huge if they got one, and they'll keep trying until they do that's a given. But whether they get it with a Korean song or an English one depends entirely on BigHit/HYBE and their willingness to invest in huge-scale promotion, because they need to hit the general public like Dynamite did in 2020 for it to be nearly as successful. My main concern now though is not what language it's in but if it'll be by themselves or dependent on some huge-name Western artist(s)...

Not to be a petty bitch and name any names but more and more k-pop acts are relying on global western acts to get their foot into mainstream (western) success and while BTS' name is big enough not to need it to be famous the Grammy's are still xenophobic and might not let BTS get a foot in otherwise. They tried with Coldplay, and while Coldplay is popular, they aren't nearly as (chart) successful these days as in the past, they were never gonna get a Grammy with My Universe and they were genuinely fooling themselves (HYBE, BigHit, whoever) if they thought that would work. It's like how Bang thought a collab between TXT and the Jonas Brothers would get them a top 10 Billboard hit without looking at the fact they haven't had a top 10 hit since Sucker and that was only because it was their first song together in YEARS after breaking up, they have not touched it since. Like they think some of these artists are more successful than they actually are, and just by tacking a popular k-pop group to them will make it better? It's just a dumb way to go about it IMO.

The HYYH thing, I dunno what that entails yet but if they make some new music in that same vein it'll be well received amongst fans probably. But I doubt they can ever recapture that same magic, both the music and the feeling of that time are a capsule, they aren't those people anymore, they aren't that age anymore, they aren't experiencing life in that way anymore, so I doubt they can tap into that mindset again and do it all over but 'new'. I'm genuinely interested to see what they decided to do for it though, I'm open to being wrong.

BTS need more songs like MIC DROP IMO, they need songs that are hype as fuck again. Run BTS got close to that vibe, but they just barely missed it. They didn't go hard enough to promote it because they chose a softer, more emotional song to prioritize instead, and again, as well as it did WITHIN the fandom, no one gave a fuck about it, and by the time they decided to do dance challenges and bring more attention to Run BTS to meet the energy OTHER people were bringing to it, its time was over. But if people are attracted to a song they need to go all in on it, ride that wave and embrace it, rather than try and force a hit that has low energy and only means something to a collection of established fans, that's not how charts work long-term and that's not what's gonna win them a Grammy.

Do you have ANY idea how hard it was to pick just *one rip* for today?

You all likely expected ahead of time what type of rip was to be featured for today - September 21st has practically become its own holiday, the day to celebrate Earth, Wind & Fire's September, due to the specific date mentioned in that song. Once a year, we all pay respects to one of the most legendary pieces of music out there, and of course SiIva is no different.

For seven seasons and eight years, SiIva has never missed a beat on celebrating Earth, Wind & Fire annually. Its not quite a mainstay meme on the channel, but its an inevitability we all love and cherish - an event as expected as Halloween, Christmas and Wood Man's birthday. There's even some in-jokes on the channel pertaining specifically to September: the composer for Dragon Ball: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 infamously plagiarized the song in the theme Capsule Obtain, and thus all SiIvaGunner rips from said game are actually just rips of September. Even outside of today's date, September continues to get attention in rips completely unrelated to the inofficial holiday, and they're almost all bangers in their own right.

In the end, I felt it was best to stay simple. The final few months of Season 1 of SiIva were magical in a lot of ways, such as what I wrote about on File Select Fusion Collab and Planet Wisp Mashup Medley. The most obvious reason for this magic is also the simplest to explain - the rippers had simply gotten REALLY good at their craft. While Season 1 as a whole is oft defined as the era lacking in proper quality control, the final quarter of the season had everyone firing on all cylinders, and Earth, Wind & Bombs demonstrates that perfectly. Like some of Nape Mango's other most popular rips, its a pitch-perfect Super Mario 64 arrangement of September - it exudes the joy of two deeply nostalgic pieces of art all at once. Super Mario 64 is even more beloved on SiIva than September is, yet with the two combined the feeling of warmth and comfort just gets amplified a thousand fold. Really, its an arrangement that speaks for itself - an absolute jam that shows how Nape Mango is, now and forever, the greatest of all time.

time is so funny

because the other day i was thinking about how even for eras where i’d consider myself to have been fully present for, there are still aspects that i wasn’t really attuned to at the time,

and so i was going through old lover era photos and was like,

you know, in retrospect, it was pretty on point of her to wear sparkly silver vsfs 2013 snow angels-esque pants for this outfit

and it’s on point because she wore them while walking down the hallway in the lover video,

which is a hallway that we now know of as being similar to a scene from the vsfs 2013 broadcast

and her custom collab stella mccartney jacket works well here too with the vsfs 2013 comparison because the show took place in london and the opening runway was of course named “british invasion” which is a very mccartney (beatles) coded phrase, and of course the angel wings on the jacket are like vs angel wings and such..

and so i was scrolling though more pictures and remembered that taylor wore a yellow jacket with daisies all over it for the lover album release party, which i did know in the back of my mind but somehow time has made me forget that the jacket was from carolina herrera

aka the fashion house karlie has worked with for years and is the face of their perfume, and i was laughing about that

and then i was like you know i wasn’t obsessed with jewelry at the time i wonder if she could’ve been wearing anything huge and i start looking and then i remembered, oh yeah, she was wearing the vsfs angel wing ring in a lot of the shots of her and stella talking about their capsule collection, which were also played at the lover release party

and i’m reminiscing at all the things that taylor put into lover and then i’m scrolling twitter and i notice an alternative photo from taylor’s lover era vogue photoshoot that i don’t have a recollection of

and she’s wearing a dress with a drooping yellow flower on it. and i just started spiraling 🫠 she really said leave no stone unturned because i’m putting something under each and every one

yayyy i love this question 💖 in no particular order, here are some of my favorites!!

[phil's animal crossing series] was peak covid comfort, like a really calming time capsule. i actually watched these videos even when i wasn't watching literally any other dan and phil content and hadn't in years (i didn't have a switch yet so i was just watching other people play AC)

[sensory deprivation tank] - this one is cool because it's actually something i want to try in real life now that i've seen him do it lmao. and i love seeing him out and about, especially because he's (unsurprisingly) so respectful in public with filming unlike many other youtubers

[bob ross tutorial] - i know it's not the most original idea ever but i love the jenna marbles vibes, i love seeing him get creative, and it's sweet how his dad is an excellent painter so he wanted to imitate him ;-;

[norman makeup] - again i just love seeing him be creative and it's so different from what we usually see on his channel

[houseplant tour] - i have over 200 houseplants and i regularly watch other people's plant tours, so this is a favorite. obviously this one was not your typical tour but i love it even more for that reason. the whole thing is so endearing. also their ZZ is genuinely soooo beautiful

i could go on and on tbh i didn't even mention rescuing steve, making a cake without a recipe, stories from the closet, buying things from wish (so much funnier than it needed to be), the virtual collabs (the one with louise is so cute, i would watch them queen out all day), I COULD GO ON AND ONNNN i love him so bad he's so special to me 🥺

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s chic fashion brand is expanding its product range with a home collection, which the label just debuted at Milan Design Week, according to Hypebeast. The Row’s new category launched with fine wool throw pillows, cashmere blankets, and bedding sets cast in a minimalist palette of beige, black, and tan. During Design Week, their installation included furniture pieces by Maison Baguès and Julian Schnabel, nodding to the curated look of their retail stores and phone-less fashion shows. It also marks the latest instance of fashion brands growing with homeware divisions, following a roster that includes Hermès, Versace, Gucci, Dior, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Missoni, and many more. The legendary fashion mainstay is helping the Indian fashion brand Alamelu launch in the US apparel market, starting with special presentations of its Fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection. This week, Mallis hosted a private cocktail reception celebrating Alamelu at The Mark Hotel. The soirée was thrown shortly before two days of private showing featuring the brand’s newest designs by creative director K.H. Radharaman, also held at The Mark. Alamelu’s designs combine rich Indian heritage and craftsmanship with modern silhouettes, decadent textures, and a tonal color palette, which have already become definitive of the four-year-old brand. Got a few random things, from various stores, so I thought I would lump all of them in one post.

I finally got my last Suwarasetai Giyu Tomioka that I was looking to get (Hashira Meeting, vol 5 version). My bff gifted those two; I actually went to Wmrt with her some weeks earlier, and we saw an empty box of the mystery bags sold in USA stores. Then she saw these for sale online, as a set not that long ago, so she purchased them for me. <3

I got the Link figure from that time we went to Wlmrt, it was a huge surprise for both, as they are listed as sold out all the time. They had two, but the other didn't have the shield. I got one earlier version as soon as those released years back, but mine has a "mystery" element, which I believe is the same shield (I don't unbox my toys). So, I got this on to potentially unbox. Now, I am not too sure. I feel that the one without the shield had a nicer looking face... I am a weirdo! I also got the Barbie Mini Land figures from that trip.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Bitty Pop! and the Mini Verse capsule I got from Amnz. As well as the Lol surprise Hello Kitty collab dolls. Those are from way earlier, but I was lazy to take photos back then. The QA on those is disappointing to say the least, so I rarely collect, but I really wanted these Hello Kitty collab ones.
