James Somerton opening his "apology" with reference to his hospitalisation has made my blood absolutely boil. I am so unbelievably gobsmacked at the audacity of that. Even if it's true - ESPECIALLY if it's true - you just cannot in good conscience do something like that.

It's triggering to those of us who have dealt with those feelings, triggering to those of us who have had loved ones attempt or succeed in the past, AND it feels manipulative to anybody with eyes and two working braincells. It deeply devalues the trauma of something like that to reduce it to some kind of deflection for any hate he will get on the video. My first thought in the opening of the video was "god I hope Harry doesn't take this to heart and blame himself" because as somebody who has been on the other side of somebody threatening to hurt themselves, it it deeply traumatising and heartbreaking to see it (intentionally or not) weaponised on such a large scale to such a huge audience. I thought I couldn't feel more betrayed and upset by James but I was wrong.

Not to mention he fobs his acephobia, biphobia, lesbophobia and misogyny off on the nebulous concept that nick writes most of it and that "should have been more exacting" when going over the videos. So either he's claiming his cowriter DOES hold those views, OR that it simply never occurred to him that those views were offensive. Either way, you're in the wrong on complacency alone. You're either ignorant to your best friend's views or you've never taken stock of your own.

Also James never once using the word "plagiarise" in a 35 minute video supposedly apologising for said plagiarism is insane. He talks about "crediting people better" which is BONKERS when he was exposed for deliberately obscuring the stolen work by editing parts of it. That wasn't an accident, you didn't trip and fall and accidentally base entire videos around other people's work, you wilfully and maliciously took that work and passed it off as your own words and opinions.

I was a fan of James before all of this. That makes it all hurt more.

Every time I see a post that includes some variation on "if you're self-medicating with tobacco or weed, you need to quit smoking and get on proper meds," I want to slap someone.

Do you fuckers know how hard it is to "get on proper meds" in the world we fucking live in? Are you aware of the various medication shortages happening right now? Are you aware of how hard it is to access healthcare and mental health services when you're marginalized and impoverished?

Mind your own fucking business and put your energy toward literally anything other than "omg if you smoke you will die and everyone will hate you, you gross loser."

"Get on proper meds." Ignoring the fact that I'm already on multiple medications that only lessen my body's various symptoms and don't get rid of them entirely...Bitch, I'd love to get some more effective meds! You gonna pay for it and schedule all the appointments and navigate the medication shortages for me? Are you going to help me advocate for myself against doctors who only want to see me as lazy and drug-seeking because I'm disabled and can't work a regular job?

Are you fighting for harm reduction and compassionate addiction management? Are you doing anything to combat medical discrimination and ableism? Have you put any time and effort into learning the history of the War on Drugs and other anti-drug campaigns, and how criminalization affects marginalized people, and how anti-drug laws have been used to actively target Black people and other PoC? Do you know anything about drug laws, scheduling, decriminalization activism, and prison abolition? Do you know anything about the predatory rehab industry and the ways it hurts people? Do you know anything about what drugs do what, what symptoms they might be used to manage, or what kind of practical safety concerns drug users deal with on a regular basis? Does your understanding of "the opioid crisis" start and end with "opioids sound bad and scary"?

Are you doing anything to mitigate the factors that cause people to take up smoking in the first place? Are you prioritizing bodily autonomy and self-determination? Are you listening to drug users about what actions are helpful and wanted in regard to these issues?

Or are you just in the shame game because you see smokers as stupid, subhuman monsters who deserve what we get?

I need a goddamn bowl.

If I'm being honest, my one concern about the Knuckles show is if it exists to make up for less screentime he may have in the third movie due to Shadow

It's too early to assume still

Knuckles Series is supposed to act as a sort of prologue for the third movie, not a replacement for Knuckles moments later on, and I'm sure he'll have enough screentime there too. Maybe not as much as Shadow but I do have hope he'll have his spotlight moments, as would the others.

Besides, the Wachowski fam is too protective of one another, u can't tell me he won't go Raphael mode if Shadow dares harm his tribe.

GOD. OKAY—

I’ve legitimately been thinking myself into a downward spiral for the last 3 hours straight about how not enough people give Hatoful Boyfriend a fighting chance long enough to ever get through the full game.

It shouldn’t bother me so much, but it REALLY bugs me whenever I see a Big YouTuber™️ pick up the game on their channel for shits and giggles (because “haha silly bird dating game”) and then only do one or two of the routes before dropping it and never touching it again with the assumption that the entire game is just one big meme when there’s SO MUCH MORE to see. But it’s so hard to convince people to actually stick with it and play through the whole thing without spoiling everything about it and all its twists and turns.

Like it’s seriously one of the best games I’ve EVER played with amazing storytelling, character development, horror, humor, and literally everything in-between but nO ONE EVER KNOWS BECAUSE THEY DON’T EVER MAKE IT PAST THE PUDDING GOD JOKE ROUTE.
