Guardian Deity Spirit Danny
"In the spiritual realm, there are specific steps a being can take to ascend to the status of a god, with certain restrictions defining what a god truly is. Typically, a deity emerges as a result of being worshipped by a group of people, their worship infusing them with divine energy and granting them godhood.
They can be born from an unconscious belief or concept, such as the worship of the moon or nature. Over time, this belief gains sentience and power through the devotion of their followers.
They possess spiritual powers and establish a cult, amassing considerable influence and strength.
They are born from another god.
They achieve godhood by defeating and absorbing the essence of a pre-existing god, embodying their concept.
This means that even if a being is incredibly powerful, like Clockwork, they must be worshipped by someone to attain godhood. So...
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
In the Infinite Realms, time operates differently than in the outside world. I believe that since the Realms exist beyond space and existence, serving as the cosmic glue holding the multiverse together, they remain separate from the flow of time.
So, my idea is this: Danny is already immensely powerful, as he embodies the balance between life and death. Because of his connection to Clockwork, this being occasionally sends him on time-traveling missions, perhaps for preparations related to kingship. As a result, he appears in various places throughout history, safeguarding people and cultures. Over the centuries and millennia, people begin to worship him, seeking blessings and offering sacrifices.
Usually, this would lead the Justice League to believe that he's simply a very old being. However, what if he truly is ancient?
As I mentioned earlier, a god's powers are derived from belief, and this belief gradually transforms the deity. Here's my take:
Batman might insist, "I know you're Danny Fenton," until a summons or a crisis causes Danny's godly side to surface. This aspect of him is truly ancient, as time doesn't flow conventionally in the Infinite Realms. Consequently, Danny could be three years old in terms of his death, yet also an ancient entity. Nonetheless, he remains physically too young to fully comprehend his true power and existence, resulting in considerable confusion.
Ultimately, there are two interpretations:
The Justice League ends up believing that Danny is either a) a vessel for a god, b) a sort of priest, or c) the physical incarnation of a bored god curious about experiencing humanity.
Ghosts do not treat him like a typical ghost child because, due to the nonlinear nature of time in the Zone, his core possesses the essence of an ancient being. The ghosts perceive him as the rebirth of balance, incarnated as a human to restore equilibrium.
Feel free to use this concept for any story or interpretation you find compelling."

[ID: four page comic of the owl house. Page 1: Eda walks past Luz, Gus and Willow, who're sat on the floor of the owl house around a box labeled "Eda's Music". Eda notices them and peeks around the corner asking "uh, hey kid- whatcha doin?". Luz says "oh hey Eda!".
Page 2: Luz says "we were just going through all your old human music!" While holding a CD case. She continues "I've been getting nostalgic listening to some old latin pop CDs, like what my mom used to play around the house! (You have a surprising amount of merengue music btw)". Gus sheds a single tear and says "I've sampled human music before but, wow, just, wow! The technique...the inspiration...Carly Rae Jepsen is a genius". Willow looks to the side and says "and I've been listening to your old breakup mixtapes!".
Page 3: Eda looks at her blankly before saying "my what?". Willow says- "your breakup music! There's a whole box of it. I'm pretty over it now but back in the day...when Amity stopped hanging out with me...it hit me hard. I kinda had a phase of only listening to angsty breakup songs for like...a month. Maybe more. It's kinda sad in retrospect".
In the background we can see a flashback of young willow sobbing in bed while summoning vines to cover photos of her and Amity on her wall. Willow continues "things are a lot better now don't get me wrong...but I still listen to that playlist every once in a while when I need a release". Eda contemplates, then grimaces, remembering breakup with Raine (who's pictured saying "it's over, eda").
Page 4: Eda looks at Willow. She eventually says "wanna trade?" And Willow looks up. Final panel shows Luz standing in the doorway concerned as she looks at Willow and Eda. willow is kneeling in front of a casette player and headphones with a shadowy expression and Eda is in the family guy death post with a phone and headphone wire next to her. Both have annotations- Willow's says "got One of Us by ABBA" and Eda's is "got Nightshift by Lucy Dacus". Luz says "you guys good?". End ID]

#the owl house#willow park#eda clawthorne#luz noceda#gus porter#(i know he's essentially a cameo in this but he has a speaking role at least i feel justified tagging him)#raeda#not really intended as amillow? more abt the experience of taking a friendship breakup hard but lacking the language to describe it#but can be interpreted as amillow if you want#anyway. every stage of this comic kicked my ass and tbh it's not my favorite but it got me drawing again and that's good#i still think the idea is funny part of me is just like. actually we can do better lets take it from the top#which is deranged bc I've already spent like 2-ish weeks on this i am not looking at this for another second#do i think enjoying angsty breakup music is wholly in character for willow? im not sure. she doesn't like dwelling on the negative#BUT like. i think you can make the argument she'd enjoy it in private. she represses a lot of feelings she needs some kind of outlet#and this is s2A in my mind (post eclipse lake where willow and Gus want to check out more human music)#so i feel like I can justify her talking about her angsty guilty pleasure to eda#also like. bby willow is DEVASTATED in the understanding willow flashbacks. maybe older willow tries to ignore things#but for at least a few months it was probably a big struggle for her coming to terms w/ why amity stopped hanging out w/ her#anyway i don't want to look at this anymore. have at thee!#i have 2 (two) more comics thumbnailed and one of them is shorter/funnier but the other one is a hc I really like#so currently a toss up between which one gets done next#it's half past midnight and i don't wanna stay awake until 2 am again so I'll probably just leave this lurk for a bit and then sleep#i hate the way this is formatted (the images are SO SMALL ON MOBILE) but i don't want this post to be more vertical than it is

Valerie's strain of sanity was this, this close to SNAP it. She was at the end of her rope here and it showed. Well, it would show if she took off her mask, letting lose her limp hair and revealing her dark eyebags but she couldn't because she was fighting what-was-his-name, oh right, Skulker.
Skulker, who was demanding to know what had the ghost hunters done with Phantom.
After Phantom's sudden disappearance, it had felt like a blessing. One less ghost scum, the better right? Wrong. She would rather die than admit it but she had underestimated the amount of ghosts Phantom took care of on the daily basic.
The Fenton parents and GIW were no match to those of greater powers, such as Vortex and Undergrowth and she was certain by now they looked no different from her.
Wary. Exhausted. Defeated.
Amity Parkers or at least, the adult ones, hypocritic as they were, had gone from disparaging and objecting to pleading for Phantom's return. Even the ghosts were wondering where was their mysterious ghost boy.
Mayor Masters was also under dark clouds after receiving the citizen's complaints and having to deal with the damages that ranged up to millions of dollars.
At this point, everyone was begging for Phantom to come back from wherever he was.
"Guys!" a voice shouted and she turned, only to see Sidney Poindexter, floating besides them and waving a glowing paper, "It's from Phantom's!"
Just like that, seemingly every human and ghost came out of the bush to know what was the latest news. It didn't get better:
Dear ghosts and Amity Park I guess,
This is from Phantom. I regret, well, not really, to say that having been married into another ghost belongs to another city, I won't be returning to Amity Park anytime soon.
Thankfully never have to deal with you guys anymore,
YOLO,
Phantom
What the fuck.
Or: when a ghost (or half-ghost) marries to a ghost in another city, they basically forfeit their rights to their old home and any businesses going on in their old home is none of their businesses.
In another news, Danny Fenton had been going on romantic rendezvous with a Jason Todd in Gotham City.

Dancing in the rain ; requested by @wandixx!
He hadn’t been expecting the Signal to chase after him. It is, after all, well after midnight, and he had seen the vigilante out earlier during the day.
Maybe the Bats are understaffed tonight, he muses as he leaps over the rooftops, a wild grin on his face. Being on the other side of a chase is a lot of fun, he’s discovering. He can see why Selina enjoys it so much.
Though, it probably has to do more with who’s chasing her than it is the chase itself.
But Danny’s become a bit of an adrenaline junkie after a few years of being a hero, fighting ghosts and governments. He’s not a hero anymore, especially not in Gotham, but being Catwoman’s partner in crime is way more fun than being responsible for everyone’s safety.
It’s like he’s doing anything bad, either. Selina can steal whatever she wants; if they couldn’t protect things against her, then should they really have it? Danny doesn’t focus on jewelry or gems. No, he takes ghost artifacts or items contaminated with ectoplasm back to the realms where they won’t cause problems to any humans. There are enough ecto-contaminated people in this world, solely from Amity Park. Best not to let that number grow.
So here he is, leaping over rain-slicked rooftops and only using a little bit of flying to keep ahead, holding a cursed pocket watch that a ghost had requested he return to them, with the Signal chasing after him, disappearing into shadows and popping up unexpectedly.
“Stray! Get back here!” Signal yells, and Danny takes a moment to spin on his heel to face the vigilante to stick his tongue out at him, then backflips away.
“I didn’t even steal anything important!” he returns, tossing the pocketwatch in the air ahead, then jumps up to catch it and scales his way up to the roof of the next building.
“Seriously,” Signal says, suddenly in front of him. “Stop running and we can talk this out.”
“Woah!” Danny tries to get around him, trips over his own feet, and crashes into the Signal’s chest.
“Careful, there.” He looks up to see the Signal’s smile, and he absolutely can not be blamed for having his half dead heart skip a beat. He’s in the arms of a hero who’s smiling at him so sweetly, what’s a guy to do? “Ready to talk now?”
Danny goes intangible for a moment, smoothly sliding out of the Signa’s grip. “Nope,” he grins, starting up the chase once again.
The rain isn’t very strong, and the drops feel cool against his face as he runs, getting a little more air with each jump as he uses more of his flight to keep ahead. He can hear the Signal chasing after him again, heavy footsteps that start and stop unpredictably as he travels between shadows.
Just to be safe, Danny stashes the pocket watch inside his chest, leaving his hands free to grab onto the rough brick of the walls and scale them up, aiming to go higher and higher. Maybe if he finds a good building, he can dramatically fall off the edge and fly away invisibly.
“Got you!”
The Signal pops up out of the wall and grabs Danny, who yelps and tries to pull his arms away. The Signal is too strong, and his tight grip on Danny’s wrists is warm against the chill of the rain.
They stand there for a moment, just staring at each other as they try to catch their breath. And then, “Is that any way to treat a guy?” Danny jokes, trying one last time to pull his wrists free.
“It is when it’s you,” the Signal replies. “Man, you sure know how to run.”
“I’ll be sure to put that on my resume for my next heist.”
“Seriously, can we talk?”
Danny eyes him curiously. The other Bats mostly tried to take back whatever it is he’d stolen that night, occasionally trying to get information from him. None of them had outright asked to have a chat with him. The Signal at least has some manners, compared to the rest of him. There’s no harm in sticking around for one conversation.
It helps that the Signal is cute, especially when he had saved Danny a few weeks ago.
Sue him, he’s a bit soft on the Signal. Wouldn’t anyone be with their favorite hero?
“Alright,” Danny says, relaxing. “Go ahead. Talk.”
“Great! Okay, um.” The Signal bites his lip and Danny should really look away, but his eyes are fixed to his mouth. He doesn’t speak for a solid minute, during which Danny really begins to feel the chill of the rain. “Can I get less comments from the peanut gallery?” he says suddenly.
“What?” Danny laughs, confused.
The Signal sighs. “My comms are on. The others are being annoying. If they wanted to ask you questions, they should have caught you first.”
“Oh, protecting me from the big bad Bats? My hero,” Danny says sweetly, pretending to swoon. Except, the Signal follows his movements, releasing his wrists to catch him by the waist, holding him steady. Danny’s breath hitches, and from how close they are, he has no doubt that the Signal heard it. They freeze for a moment, then the Signal dips him like some fainting Victorian maiden.
“Well, I certainly wouldn’t mind sweeping you up in my arms.” The smirk on his face only lasts a moment before he grimace and says, “I shouldn’t have said that on open comms. Man, they’re annoying. It’s not my fault I know how to flirt.”
Danny…
Well. Danny short circuits for a moment, running the words over his mind again, then blushes so hard he’s sure there’s steam coming off his cheeks. “You’re flirting?” he squeaks. “With me?”
“Flirting,” a new voice confirms, making them both jump, stumbling against each other as Black Bat hops down onto their rooftop. “Both shy and silly. I’m better.”
“You can’t even ask out Spoiler,” the Signal retaliates.
“She can’t even WHAT?” Spoiler yells as she also vaults herself over the alley below to join them. “You want to ask me out?”
Though she doesn’t say anything, Danny can practically feel Black Bat’s glare through her mask. The Signal winces, then says, “Oops.”
“Man, you can keep yourself busy, clearly Sig doesn’t need backup,” Spoiler says. “I need to go on a date with Black Bat. The rest of you suckers are on your own!” And then she grabs Black Bat’s hand and grapples away.
There’s a beat of silence, then Danny and the Signal share a glance and start laughing.
“Well,” Danny says, “Good for them! Good for them.”
“They’re probably just going to Bat Burger.”
“And are you going to be treating me to a burger any time soon? I should be compensated for this conversation, you know.”
“Please, if I was taking you out on a date, it wouldn’t be to Bat Burger. I’d take you out dancing.”
It sounds like a date his dad would take his mom on. It sounds nice. Danny smiles and leans in closer to the Signal, taking hold of one of his hands. With the other, he puts Signal’s hand on his waist, then brings his own up to the Signal’s shoulder.
“Why not dance with me now?”
Danny leads them in a few clumsy turns of a waltz, silently thanking Sam for forcing him to take a few ballroom dance lessons with her. The Signal seems a little dazed, following his lead, and when he lightly squeezes Danny’s waist, he shivers.
Catwoman should be done with Batman soon. They had agreed to meet up at the newly opened Vintage Boutique in Diamond District, and he intends to beat her there.
Reluctantly, Danny pulls away from the Signal with one final spin, and hops up onto the edge of the roof. “If you can find me during the day,” he says, “Then I’ll dance with you again. See you around, Signal!”
And with that, Danny hops backwards off the roof, free-falling towards the ground before he lets gravity lose hold of him and slips into invisibility, flying up just as the Signal peers over the edge, searching for him.
Unable to help himself, Danny floats closer until he can give the Signal a quick kiss on the cheek, then flies off, grinning wildly.
He certainly can’t wait to see the Signal again.
Maybe if he hired a few guys to pretend to rough him up while Signal’s out patrolling…
Well, either way, this cat is already half dead so he can jump straight to satisfaction bringing him back. And, hopefully, back into Signal’s arms again when they won’t be interrupted by other Bats.
He’s already looking forward to it.

Halloween prompts year 2 day 14
Tim was the best thing to ever happen to Danny.
He didn't mean that just because how much of a sappy romantic he was to Tim, but because he literally saved him from his own mind.
Danny was never going to leave Amity Park so long as the portal was open.
The portal would always remain open between his parents practically treating it like thier third child and thier ability to simply make another if anything would have happened to that one. Not to mention the super creep named Vlad.
So Danny would have stayed in Amity forever, cleaning up after his parents and being miserable.
Or ya know. Until they managed to kill him.
But then Tim came into his life and fixed everything. He befriended Danny over nightime rooftop rendezvous and groaning at his dumb (read awesome) puns.
As they got closer Sam and Tucker seemed to get both anxious and angry. Were they jealous? What right did they have after the Gregor incident?! Its true that they'd both been to busy to hand out with Danny for the past few weeks, leaving Danny with only Tim to turn to for company.
Tim pointed out that they may feel threatened knowing someone else knows his secret and Danny couldn't help but agree.
Tim pointed out that Danny was going to be stuck here cleaning up after his parent the rest of his life if he didn't find a way to stop the portal. Danny had nearly broke down at that and admitted he didn't know what else to do, so Tim devised a plan with that big beautiful brain of his.
They created a machine that ran on ectoplasm and magic that could wipe information from both technology and the human brain. They could remove all traces of ghosts ever existing in this town and erase 20 years of knowledge and research from Vlad and the Fentons minds, but it would come at a cost as magic usually does.
They would have to forget Danny existed as well. Tim offered that they could run away together.
Danny decided that was okay. The only person he had left in this town who had cared about him was Jazz and she was better off without him there to get her hurt.
Tim also had a plan to strip Vlad of his powers as well as his knowledge, and Danny was looking forward to not having to deal with him anymore
It was the day after everything went down, Tim was driving the GAV while Danny flew in the Ops Centers Jet form. They had made sure to swipe everything they could from the labs as well as everything the thought they needed to travel to Tims home dimension.
Danny had promised to help Tim uncover the secrets of his past and who he really was and to do that they essentially planned to travel around the Earth being wandering criminals.
Between Tims intellect and Dannys powers they were undefeated and unnoticed. They stole whatever they wanted and did whatever they pleased, making sure no one had to get hurt unless there was no other options.
Of course they stole cash from bank vaults as well as whatever else was in there. They couldn't stop Phantom from entering since anti-meta tech didn't affect him and couldnt track Phantom due to him being whatever he was plus the collar Tim had helped Danny design that covered up his ecto-signature.
They lived like this for over a year, breaking in to abandoned places, having waterfights in large city waterfountains (and running when they heard police sirens), tagging some of the places they'd hit when they wanted to leave a message, long romantic walks at night, lots of laughter, going on dates to restaurants (they never dine & dash. Some places make the wait staff pay which is bull and they might want to return to that establishment at some point), that one time they stole a $900 wedding cake from a homophobic bakery owner, lots of Fake out-Make outs to avoid getting sent to jail, ect.
They were having the time of thier lives up until they stopped in a little 24 hour diner in Bludhaven. They were doing what they usually do, flirting and laughing until the waiter takes thier order, when a guy approached thier table. Tim and Danny exchanged worried looks before the guy held up his hands in mock surrender, "I'm not gonna hurt you, I promise, I'm Dick Grayson." The man held out his hand to Tim, who hesitated before shaking it, "Tim," he answered honestly.
Danny nudged him with his foot under the table.
The man smiled wide, "Like Tim Drake?"
Tim and Danny looked confused, "Like who?" Danny asked and Dicks smile faltered

So Fawcett city has that whole multiple era fashion and building things going on. That but for Amity park. Because of ghosts wearing literally what ever and the Drs.Fentons jump suits extremely “alternate” clothes have just become normalized and nobody really cares anymore as long as you are still wearing clothes.
Danny, as someone who spends way more time with ghosts and ghost clothing choices is so completely desensitized to Ghost Fashion ™ that he just straight up can’t tell human heroes, rouges, or civilians apart from each other.
Danny in Gotham: *after walking past multiple rouges in their full costumes* No officer I haven’t seen anyone dressed strangely. Oh, there’s an Arkham breakout? *Sees the Red Hood* yeah that’s just a regular guy who’s a bit spooky, like most of Amity. :p
In Central City: *Sees the Flash* well, that’s just some guy ™ that likes red
Metropolis: *multi supers ending up near Danny due to his concerning “vitals”* huh, there’s a lot of people wearing Superman related clothes here, must be a trend.
Not even Discowing can phase Danny

A Dp x Dc idea that isn't Danny-centric!? Say it ain't so!
So I think that this'll be a relatively short one but anywho.
Pariah Dark forcing the entirety of Amity Park into the ghost zone did not come without consequences, even with the ghost shield the Fenton's put over the town.
Said consequences come in the form of the entire basically becoming a ghost portal in and of itself. It mostly happened slowly over time, with the town experiencing quakes that spread quakes that lead to the Ghost Zone.
Everyone had to evacuate when it got really bad, well, mostly everyone. You see, Sam didn't want to leave Amity Park at all so he tried to find ways to convince her parents to let her stay even if said city was basically crumbling.
Then she had an idea.
What if she became one of Undergrowths allogenes? (taken from genshin impact)
So she persuaded (read: bullied) Danny into taking her to him so they could make a deal and let her stay in Amity. Undergrowth was surprisingly accommodating to the both of them, what with Danny becoming the new Ghost Prince and Sam already leaving a good impression on him.
He gave her a task, take this seed and place it within the middle of Amity Park and watch over it until it fully grows, then, and only then, will he accept her as one of his allogenes.
So Sam very obviously took said seed, said yes, and went to plant it.
The center of Amity Park was basically a giant ghost portal, it was small, at first. But with each and every quake it expanded and expanded until it couldn't be ignored anymore, so after Danny and Sam got back and went to it, Sam just dropped the seed in the middle of it and watched it sink.
Luckily Overgrowth gave her a proper method she should follow to ensure its growth, at the very least.
It took 4 years for the seed to grow, 4 years of relative isolation for Sam. Danny was usually busy with High Prince duties, what with being summoned and the likes, while Tucker was busy with taking over the outside world.
They still made time for her however.
When it grew Undergrowth gave her praise, not many would willingly keep themselves in isolation to grow an interdimensional seed from the other world. Such, he made do on his promise and gave Sam a portion of his powers, turning her into one of his allogenes.
He did however tell her that she was only Allogene he's ever had in multiple eons. Some of them chose to reenter the reincarnation cycle, while others sacrificed themselves for the greater good and such, some of them among the living are still alive, however, so they should be at least, vaguely aware of her existence.
Sam trained her new powers, familiarizing herself with them until it was as easy as breathing, which took a few months of non-stop training. Thankfully her new stamina is leaps beyond that of her previous human self. Eventually, she was even able to create a few lotus' that acted mostly as transport around the giant ghost portal.
Oh yea, did I mention that the Ghost Portal expanded enough to take over all of Amity Park? Well, a few buildings here and there stilled survived, mostly like small islands but still.
So Sam was living a pretty fine life, all things considered. Her days were very peaceful, tending to a few plants here and there, taking care of the giant tree that sprouted from the seed she grew, training her powers and talking to Danny and Tucker whenever they dropped by.
It was repetitive, but a nice one.
Then her daily cycle was interrupted by people claiming to be the Justice League, and she honestly did not have a clue as to who they are. She didn't really keep up with the news after planting the seed, or the outside world at all for that matter, the only one she regularly kept in contact with was Tucker.
She thought back on, and Tucker did mention them once or twice. Mostly painting them as irritating individuals yet worthy of respect, not that she knew why but she wasn't going to just let them step in here regardless. It's pretty rude to just step into someone's home without permission, no?

Like Betta Fish Do - Part 10
Masterpost of ao3 link and all parts. wc: 3324
“Baby Pop!” Ember cried as she swooped Danny up into a crushing hug.
Right then, he was really glad that he didn’t have to breath in his ghost form. Not even five minutes in the zone and he was already being crushed to re-death. He managed to get a hand up to pat awkwardly at her arm. “Heya Ember… everything okay?”
“Is everything okay?! Is every— what are you asking me that for?” Ember wailed. She held Danny out suddenly at arm’s length and shook him around a little.
Danny gripped her arms to stop the shaking. “Seriously confused here, Ember.”
“Pandora talked to us—”
Oh no.
“—and told how you didn’t know we where just having fun! Danny, Baby Pop, little melody, we didn’t know, I swear!”
“Ember—”
“If we had, okay, like yeah I want my music to be heard and shit!”
“Ember!”
“But not if it hurt you. You have to believe that.”
Danny smacked his hand over Ember’s mouth to keep her from interrupting him again. She huffed at him with a glare but didn’t try to move away.
“Ember,” Danny said, trying his best to muster up a reassuring smile for her. “Pandora explained. I know it was just a big misunderstanding.”
Ember pulled Danny’s hand away from her mouth, gripping it tightly. “Just because it was a ‘big misunderstanding’ doesn’t mean it was okay, Baby Pop. We hurt you. It doesn’t make it right just cause we didn’t know.”
“I— okay, no, maybe not entirely? But also I could have talked to someone, like one of the Ancients, before this. Jazz is always reminding me communication takes both parties, so some of it’s on me too.” From the way her face scrunched up, Danny wasn’t sure Ember believed him. “Look, after I move I’m going to get some of you together and we’ll plan a brawling schedule or something, alright? I think it will be nice to have a way to blow off stress from college.”
“You’re moving? Away from Amity Park?”
“Yep. And I’m shutting down the portal there. Amity Park is going to be off limits. I can’t keep you all safe from the hunters anymore. Can you help spread the word to the usual suspects about that? That would help me out a lot.”
“Can do Baby Pop! You can count on me,” Ember said, flying up with a twirl. Danny waved to her as she sped off, glad that the encounter at least ended on a good note.
He really wasn’t looking forward to having that conversations with any of the other ghosts, but he had the unfortunate feeling it would happen again and again and again. Well, he might as well get it over with Technus first. Danny wanted the other ghost’s advice to make sure that the portal would be well and good destroyed. Between Technus, Tucker, and his own skills, he’d make sure that the Fentons could never get into the Infinite Realms again.
And then he could finally move on.
Not in that way. Just, like, to college.
-
The explosion of the portal shook half the city. Car alarms screamed, windows shattered, the ops center tilted perilously on top of the half collapsed wall.
Amity Park was the safest it had been in nearly eight years.
-
Danny had debated moving like a normal human. He really had. He’d sat down and planned everything out from the trip route to the van to cost. He could do it; he was pretty sure. A small moving truck wasn’t any bigger than the Fenton Tactical Response Vehicle. Also, he didn’t need as much sleep as a normal human so could make the trip pretty quickly.
He almost did it just for the chance of doing something normal for once— to have the real college experience.
And then he thought about having to sit still in one seat for that long and immediately abandoned the idea pretty quickly.
Instead, he opened a portal from his apartment in Amity Park to the Infinite Realms and chucked all of his (mostly) boxed stuff into the zone. He technically had a whole castle, what did it matter if he had his junk in it for a few hours? Then he flew to Gotham, wanting to make sure to get the portal precisely where he needed it, and ripped open a new portal.
Sure, he had to stop Boxy a few times from taking off with a box, but otherwise the plan went pretty well.
Just now he was standing in his new, cramped studio apartment surrounded by boxes and furniture and maybe not quite enough room to move and arrange it all. He possibly should have taken a little more time moving in. His new place was tiny. He didn’t think it was possible, but he was already missing his Amity apartment a little. At least that place had more than one room.
But as tiny as this shoe box was, it was all his. He couldn’t imagine having to live with other people any more— not normal people at least. He would have had to hide his ghostly side constantly and he knows he would just mess up and out himself. That wasn’t the sort of attention he needed.
He was really, really trying to have a normal college experience here.
Speaking of…
Danny climbed over a pile of boxes to find his backpack. He’d tried to stick all the most important things (and a change of underwear) in there so it was all in one place. Now he just had to find the damn thing…
Aha! There it was. He leaned over a box, legs flailing to keep his balance, as he grabbed the patched covered purple bag. One of these days the strap was going to give out so badly that there was no saving it. Maybe it was time to get a new backpack. Maybe even before classes started…
Danny twisted around to sit on the box that he had been crawling over and fished around in the front pocket of the backpack to pull out his ear buds. He flicked open the app on his phone and and started a voice call. He was so glad he listened to Tucker and had set up the internet before he moved in.
A few minutes into trying to figure out the Tetris like puzzle of rearranging his space, he heard the ding of someone joining the channel.
“Are you in Gotham? Did you get moved in?”
Danny grinned and rolled his eyes. “Yes, mom.”
“Don’t you dare call me that Daniel John Nightingale.”
“You’re the one who’s full naming me, Sam,” Danny pointed out.
“Would you rather me call you Invis-o-bill?”
“I hate you.”
“No you don’t,” Sam said, completely unbothered by his words. “So how’s the new place.”
“Like a closet. If I trip in the kitchen I’m going to land in the bed.”
Sam snorted. “I doubt it’s that bad.”
“Maybe not, but let’s just say I’m glad I didn’t have money when I left ho— the house to get a bigger bed. I seriously don’t think I could fit anything bigger than a twin in here and still have room for my couch.”
“It’s your couch just a love seat?”
“Exactly my point Sam, this place is tiny.” Fuck it, time to approach this place like an engineer. He snagged the notebook he kept in his backpack, flipped it open to a blank enough page, and sketched out the floor plan.
“Okay, I get it, Princess,” she teased. “But aside from tiny, how is it?”
“Pretty basic but it looks clean and, I don’t know, well kept? I think a lot of people in the building are students too since we’re sorta close to campus and stuff.”
“Are you close enough to walk?”
“I think so, at least when it’s not too cold. But I’m close to a subway and it’s only two stops so once I get used to riding the subways, that will be nice,” Danny said, unable to hide the nerves in his voice.
“Don’t worry about it, you’ll be used to the city in no time,” Sam assured him breezily. “Just get your pass and set it to auto refill. Make sure to check if you get a discount for being a student.”
Danny smiled, just a little somberly. Sam was so much further ahead of him in all these life experiences. He shook his head as if that could shake the thought free with it. He was here now. “Thanks for the advice, I’ll do that. I’ve got a few weeks before classes start to handle all that shit.”
“It will go quicker than you think.”
“Don’t make me ‘mom’ you again,” Danny threatened with a laugh.
A loud knock cut off whatever ever Sam was going to say (probably telling him to fuck off).
“What was that?” She asked instead.
“I think someone is at my door?” Danny scrambled over boxes to make it to the door, which he basically tripped into. That last box he stepped on might of not been as solid as he thought.
“Don’t break yourself, fish.” A muffled voice called from the other side.
“Jason?”
“Who’s Jason?” Sam asked. Suspiciously. Fuck.
Danny fumbled with the locks before yanking his door open. It banged into a tower of boxes with a crunching noise that makes made Danny wince. He rubbed at the back of his neck as he looked up at his smirking guest.
“Jason, hi. I— um, one moment?” Danny asked, pointing towards his ears and the (on brand) bright green and black ear buds that were in them. He turned his back slightly to Jason as if that provided any privacy. “I’ll talk to you later, okay Sam?”
“Who’s Jason?”
“Bye Sam!”
“Danny! You better call me ba—”
Danny hung up on her with no regret and a bashful smile towards Jason. He had to mute the app a moment later as messages pinged in. “Hi, hey, what are you doing here?”
“Moving day always sucks, so I thought I would bring you some food.” Jason held up the bag of deliciousness.
Danny had forgotten he’d even told Jason about what day he was moving in the sporadic back and forth texting, but his stomach rumbled gratefully. “Dude, you saved my half-life. I spent so much energy portaling today.”
“Is that how you trapped yourself in your own apartment? Did you forget about this thing called doors?”
Yeah, Jason was far too smug at this.
“Look, it’s fine! I just have to—” Danny pushed against the door. It smacked into the pile of boxes again. “—shift a few things—” He pushed harder, his socked feet slipping on the linoleum. “—and then—” the cardboard finally gave and the whole tower crumpled slightly. “—see!”
Jason snorted and squeezed through the open door. His bulk barely fit and once he was inside, it left him standing pressed against Danny in the narrow space.
Danny felt himself blushing red as he tried really, really hard to pull his eyes up from the broad chest to Jason’s smirking face. Nope, that wasn’t any better. Those wonderfully quirked lips were way too close. He really needed to stop thinking things like that.
“So what’s your grand plan now?” Jason asked, looking around their box prison.
“That’s, um—” Fuck, even the guy’s neck was hot. It was like a damn tree trunk. Was that weird to think? That was probably weird. “—I’ve just been playing mountain goat and climbing over it? I have a clear spot over there.”
“Alright then Capircorn, lead on.”
“What?”
“Capricorn? The horoscope sign and mythological animal? It’s a like a mermaid but with goat top half. Since you’re a fish goat.”
Danny snorted, once, before he just dissolved into a fit laughter. It was maybe more a sign of how long Danny had been stressing over everything than how funny the joke was, but it still left him leaning against Jason as his peels of laughter died out.
Damn did Danny want to just stay right there though. Jason’s chest was really way too comfortable to have his face pressed into. The large hand spread over his lower back to help him keep his balance was grounding. It made his core want to curl up happily like a content cat.
He really had been alone for too long, hadn’t he?
Danny made himself pull away and start scaling the box. “Follow the goat fish’s lead then.”
“Hey, I think I said fish goat,” Jason said, handing over the bag of takeout once Danny had crossed the proverbial mountain.
“Okay, but if the top half is goat, goat should totally come first.”
“No, the fish tail is the weird part. You’re just looking at it going ‘this is normal’ and then you get to the fish half and realize it’s fucked up,” Jason said as he eyed the pile of boxes and then vaulted over them like it was nothing. He straightened up from his landing to smirk down at Danny again (and man could Danny get used to that). “So the defining feature is fish and hence fish comes first.”
“Ancients, why am I arguing with an English nerd about words?” Danny said, making himself step back even as his core screamed at him to do the opposite. He set the food down and dug around in one of the nearby boxes (he had labeled this one, go him) for a blanket to spread out on the floor. “And I totally know what Capricorn is. It’s a constellation, after all.”
“Oh my god. You’re a space nerd,” Jason said, gleefully.
Danny flicked him off over his shoulder.
It only took a little bit of digging before Danny found a blanket and soon they were seated on the small bit of open floor with the take out containers spread out between them. One of Jason’s long legs was stretched out all the way across the space. Danny was trying to ignore how where his thigh pressed against Jason’s leg felt so warm.
Jason, unconcerned, munched on a spring roll thoughtfully. “How did I surprise you anyways?”
Danny swallowed his mouthful of honey chicken before answering so not to be disgusting. “What do you mean?”
“Just whenever you’re anywhere near my place I get the whole someone walked on my grave feel,” Jason said with a little wave of his chopsticks. “So how did I show up at your door without you noticing?”
“Oh, well, this isn’t my haunt? At least not yet? I don’t know if it will become mine. This sorta thing is all really unusual, changing haunts, but you know, halfa and all.”
Danny deflated a little at the utterly done expression that Jason was giving him.
“That explained nothing. What’s a haunt? I assume you mean like a haunting?”
“Oh! Oh, yeah, sorry. I guess that would be confusing.” Danny rubbed at the back of his neck. “Okay, so the area where you live, Park Row—”
“Crime Alley.”
“Pardon?”
“Crime Alley,” Jason repeated. “Only the rich assholes call it Park Row.”
“Right, gotcha, sorry, all of Crime Alley is basically your haunt. Think of a haunt as your territory. It’s an area you protect or control, depending on your vibes as a ghost. For you, I’d say it’s definitely protection.”
“So I can feel you when you’re around because you’re, what, basically trespassing?”
“Yep. So, like, ghosts that are ‘yours’ in some way can exist in your haunt without much of any notice. Take, like, Frostbite. He’s the chief of the Yetis—”
‘Yetis?’ Jason mouthed silently but didn’t interrupt.
“— so most of the other Yeti’s live in what’s his haunt, but their presence doesn’t bother him any because they’re his tribe. He gets a bit of a sense of them being there, but he explains it as basically just a really faint feeling unless anything goes wrong. Families work the same way. Friend’s or allies never go away completely but it mellows.”
“So not getting that scream of static and chills anymore when you show up…?”
“Totally means you don’t want to disembowel me,” Danny joked before he sombered. “But shit, that sounds overwhelming. I didn’t know it was so bad for you. We’re going to be more sensitive to each other because we’re both halfas. Like, once your core develops other ghosts will sense you too and you’ll sense them, but right now you just feel like a minor shade to them and I guess my presence covered up anything you might have felt of the other ghosts. You said it’s better now?”
Jason stuck his chopsticks in the takeout box and leaned back against the pile of boxes behind him. “Yeah. The first time it happened it almost knocked me out. There was just this overwhelming level of static. I crushed a glass in my hand and I didn’t even notice. All I knew is I needed to get home.”
“To protect your haunt,” Danny said with a grimace. “Shit, I’m sorry. If I had noticed in time I would have stayed out. I was chasing this pain in the ass ghost and then suddenly I was in your haunt which was, well, not great?”
“Because you were trespassing?”
“Yep. And because your haunt felt… there was a lot of rage there.”
“The haunt feels like things?” Jason asked with a scowl.
Danny gave a little nod. “It’s based on both the area and the ghost. So you know, Crime Alley plus Pit rage…”
Jason looked away, glaring at the ground. “Which explains the ‘please don’t disembowel me’ message.”
“It seemed better safe than sorry,” Danny said, quietly.
“Is it horrible for you? Being in my haunt?”
Danny glanced up to meet worried, ice blue eyes. “No. It’s fine, really Jason. We’re getting used to each other, right? I’m not as bad on you when I go into your haunt and your haunt isn’t as pressing on me. Besides, the center of your haunt was always just… well, a little sad? Aching?”
“Right, sure, aching,” Jason said, snatching back up the box of take out to stab at it with the chopsticks.
Danny fiddled awkwardly with his own, not knowing what to say.
“So, well,” Jason started eventually, clearing his throat. “Why won’t this become your haunt?”
“I don’t know if I’ll get attached enough. Or if it will end up being the college campus or something else or maybe even nothing. Ghosts don’t really change their haunts unless something traumatic happens, and a trauma of that level they might not survive. But because we’re halfa’s and still living life and changing, it’s not as big of a deal for us.
“At least that’s what Frostbite thinks. Honestly we’re not really sure how exactly this will all work out for me. But I was already… detaching from my old haunt after my friends and sister left so might as well try, you know?”
That didn’t exactly seem to have the reassuring effect he wanted. Jason was gripping the takeout box a little too tightly. “But it won’t hurt you?”
“Frostbite is keeping a close eye on me, I promise. I’m going back for so many doctor visits right now. Which, by the way, when you’re healthy enough to travel between realms you will be too. But for right now I’m being looked after and I’ll do what I can to make Gotham my home and settle in. The sooner I do the sooner we’ll know more.”
Jason took a deep breath, shoulders losing some of their tension, and nodded. “Well, you better finish eating so we can get this place livable then. I’m not sure if the fish goat life is sustainable.”
“Goat fish.”
“Fish goat.”
Jason ducked with a laugh as Danny chucked a spring roll at him.
Yeah, maybe this place could at least be a home.

AN: AH! I found an easier way to get this from Scrivener to share with all of you. Sweet. Chapter 4 rewrite is ready to go up on ao3 on schedule too~
The first part of this chapter really fought me (I started a whole new fic to avoid it lol) but parsing it down to just having Ember there really helped. I’m not sure if we’ll see Danny talk with the other ghosts much, that’s not really the focus of this fic, but I’m sure one or two will find a way to show back up. In the second half my poor ace self struggled with Danny’s “oh no he’s still hot” POV but hopefully it came out well! This may be a rougher chapter though (wee endless migraine) but that’s what the rewrite is for! (Seriously, for a better version of this fic visit ao3 lol link in pinned post.)
My darlings, my dears, the tag list may be supremely broken. I’m going to try to reset it here, but I make no promises. I’m sorry if it doesn’t tag you! No matter what though, stay delightful!

I have another idea for a story, but I once again don't know what to write, so I'm building a skeleton.
It's a DC x DP x ML crossover. Damien, Marinette, and Danny are triplets born into the LoA. From birth, they were taught to not see each other as siblings but as rivals for Ra's attention. When they were five, they were dipped (more like dropped) into the pits for the first time. Danny never comes back out. The second time was when they were six. Damien and Marinette came back from a mission gravely injured. Marinette doesn't come back out. Damien becomes the sole heir.
As one can imagine, Danny and Marinette aren't dead but simply taken to where they were needed at the time. That being said, things for these two characters go mostly according to their respective shows after they integrate into society. With the exception that the two of them are more competent and don't fight like rabid raccoons. But things take a dark turn when they turn sixteen.
Marinette
. After finding out that his father is Hawkmoth, Adrien is unable to carry the weight of being the holder of the cat Miraculous, as he doesn't want to fight his father and gives it to Ladybug. He promptly moves to the States to further his modeling career. Marinette, unable to find someone else worthy to be the holder of the cat Miraculous, stores it away and becomes the sole hero of Paris (with occasional helpers). But because of this, her two lives get more intertwined, and she is forced into a corner where she has to choose between being Ladybuy or Marinette.
. But she doesn't get a chance as Hawkmoth is dethroned and replaced by an even greater threat. She is forced to take on the persona of LadyNoir. Her life crumbles as she tries her hardest to balance her life as a hero and a person. She tries to save everyone but someone always ends up getting hurt. Whether it be her as Marinette, clinging to what little of her life is left. Or her as LadyNoir, with no choice but to watch innocent civilians die because she couldn't think of a better plan that could've saved everyone.
. It gets to the point where she makes an unforgivable wish. But every wish has a cost. She only finds out the price when she is forced to stand behind an invisible wall and watch as her life replays before her eyes, the film slowly burning away till there's nothing left. She cries as she falls into an ocean of familiar Lazarus green.
Danny
. Danny's life is also crumbling around him as he struggles to separate his human life from his ghost half. But after becoming the Ghost King, things only became more complicated and even more dangerous as more ghosts started coming through the portal to challenge him for the crown. And while he would really love to give it away, the guys that kept fighting him for it are very clearly evil. So he has to keep fighting, winning, and solidifying his position as the King of the Infinite Realms. But with every win comes a newfound power. Power he doesn't want. Power that scares him.
. It gets to the point when Danny has to drop out of school. He wasn't even scoring double digits anymore so what was the sense of keeping him? But Danny couldn't stay home either, it was too dangerous as his ghost and human halves were slowly becoming one. And his parents' obsession was slowly becoming a threat to him. He thought he had the solution. He was going to shut down the portal and leave Amity Park.
. It was perfect really, as no ghost portal meant no ghost. And he couldn't be vivisected if neither the GIW nor his parents could catch him. He talked the plan over with team phantom and they reluctantly agreed. The ghost portal is destroyed, and Danny leaves Amity and files over Elmerton and a few other towns. But after flying for a while, Danny gets to a sort of border where nothing meets... NOTHING. On the other side was just an infinite void. Nothing.
. Danny slowly realizes that in this world, all he knew was Amity Park. He never actually traveled or went on field trips. Never went to visit extended family nor did any visit. No one 'new' ever came to Amity Park because they were all just nearby. He learned no relevant history besides Amity Park because there was nothing outside of Amity Park. When the realization had finally set in the world began to crumble into the void and it became a race against him and the void.
. Danny knew that he was fast but the void was faster, and before he knew it he was back in Amity. He was going to warn them and try to save as many people as he could. But saw something in their eyes. They already knew. Danny watched how teary eyes and big smiles, everyone and everything he loved crumbled into the void, fading into nothingness.
Scientists across the galaxy, the universe even, often theorize about how everything came to be. Well, it didn't start with a bang, that's for sure. 'Well then how did it start?' you might ask.
Well..., it started with some tears and a scream.

Danny Phantom Writing Prompt: The Lack of a Hero Complex
Once Danny publicly shames Vlad into returning the status quo of Amity Park, Danny also stops ghost fighting.
The Human Trio and Vlad confront Danny about his lack of action. The Human Trio finally gets a taste of the sleep deprivation Danny experienced when he didn't want to burden them from their schedules while the property damage continued to tarnish Vlad's public reputation. Danny just laughs.
Sam, completely livid at the lack of reaction: Who’s going to protect the town, Danny?
Danny gets up from the couch and looks directly into Vlad's eyes: Yeah, Vlad, how do you plan on protecting your town?
Danny lightly chuckles while he goes down to the lab where the Fenton Parents were working. He was just gonna play on the family computer while his Dad would boast about their latest idea.
The human trio:
Tumblr media
Vlad:
Tumblr media
When the ghosts who come to directly harass Danny, he decides he just needs to be completely honest with each of them.
Danny: Listen, I'll admit I kinda had fun with the bantering, but I want to focus on better things now. I was never really interested in any of you.
The Ghosts:
Tumblr media
The results?
Vlad has to set up legit ghost detectors all over the city and properly hire the Fentons for protection. Vlad hoped that the hiring would gain him favor from Maddie, but he finally got to see how she really was compared to his idealized version. Their constant public damages made Vlad's reputation even more tarnished, and their lack of change despite him personally talking to them about it makes him grow equal resentment towards both of them. It gets to the point where Vlad just sets up the same ecto repellent he uses to keep ghosts from escaping his portal back in Winsconsin. The extra paperwork he has to do now governing is not worth the mess he caused. Political power wasn't as worth it as he thought it would be.
The Human Trio gave Danny the cold shoulder for a while, but that just gave him some well needed alone time to raise his grades. He even finally got to join the astronomy club like he planned before the portal accident. They were a very chill group and welcomed him to sit with them at lunch, so he was never alone. Dash tried to start their usual routine, but that was immediately hauled by the club leader.
Dash wasn't clever enough to figure out how to respond to being called 'Pussy Lips' by a girl, so he just kinda sulked away.
Dash will say the occasional snarky comment, but he never bring himself to get too close to Danny after a club member told Danny to tell Dash and the other football players they could take turns sucking him off after their club meeting. Dash just wasn't clever enough to get things back to normal.
Though the club members weren't A-listers, they weren't at the bottom, so Danny social life became better.
The Human Trio tried to continue on like before, but they were soon caught ghost hunting by the Fentons. There was no punishment, just overactive excitement, seeing they were finally interested in Ghost Hunting. Now, having to join the Fentons whenever there was a ghost detected, the fun of it is zapped away for them, making the tiredness not worth it anymore. The three eventually apologized to Danny, which he accepts, and the group finally accepts the new changes.
There are many things that can upset a ghost, but the universal act that can anger any core is being ignored. Even with the ecto repellent, the stronger ghosts manage to get through and try to get Danny's attention. The boy always just texts Vlad about how he sucks at his job and to take care of the disruption. The ghost eventually pick up that their violent outburst aren't working, so it gets to the point that they try to get his attention another way.
They tried to coax him with things they believed he liked. It is comparable to how Hyper Cat-lovers try to get a shy cat to love them.
Lunch Lady offers him a freshly made meal when he's low on money one day. He thanks her but says he had a big breakfast.
Ember tries to act like their best friends in front of the A-listers, so Danny will become more popular at school. He greets her but continues on his stroll like she was a typical citizen.
Technus offers to give Danny the answer key to all the tests for his classes, but he denies this offer instantly. He'll never cheat on a test ever again.
It got to the point that Skulker said he would drop the promise of getting Danny's pelt if he just let him see his ghostly form. Creeped out, Danny just backed away. He was thankful Valerie was close by.
Box Ghost actually got somewhere when he offered a three-dimensional solar system model. It was in a box he had, so Box Ghost offered it to Danny. He accepted it as the one in the club was showing its age.
This seemed to make these random ghost visits even more frequent. Danny guessed Box Ghost bragged about his 'accomplishment'.
Basically, the ghosts' obsession to defeat Danny changes to them wanting his attention. Vlad’s obsession becomes solely focused on Danny as he just finds Maddie and Jack so annoying now. Like, Vlad just wants to get custody of Danny and get the hell out of Amity Park. He doesn't even want to kill the Fentons now out of fear that they will become ghosts.
After the Ember incident, the A-listers kept trying to buddy up to him. However, Danny learned how they really were, so he just treated them the way he treated ghosts. Now, it seemed they were just as desperate.
Danny will turn into Phantom only when it's necessary, that or he's in the mood to fly. The downside to this change is that whenever he does transform, he always has an entourage of attention-starved ghosts following behind him. He can't even imagine how things would be if he went to the Ghost Zone.

Demon
“They aren’t really ghosts, you know.”
“What?” Danny blinked out of his bliss staring out at the lights that floated across the park and turned his attention to the voice on his right. Each of the soft lights dotting the distance he had figured was a spirit, moving aimless and slow or following a habitual path they had carved out for themselves in life and found comfort in after death.
An old man sat on the bench near where Danny stood on the concrete path under an ancient willow. His grey hair thinned at the top and was combed over a pale bald head. His wire glasses were rectangular and too large for his thin face. Danny couldn’t tell the man’s age but spots and lines of concern felt long ago made him pretty sure the man was at least 70. Danny turned his body toward the man stiffly.
He wasn’t used to people actively talking to him. Since the accident happened and he started high school, he cut off all communication with Sam and Tucker barely acknowledging them in the hallway and letting them draw their own conclusions as to why he was avoiding everyone now. It was safer for them to think he was just a jerk instead of… whatever he was now. Half human, half ghost, it was all so confusing. Until he figured out exactly what he was, whether he really was a hybrid or not, then they would be better off without him.
The past few months had been lonely but he wasn’t sure this was the kind of company he wanted in their absence.
“They look like people but they aren’t.” The man told him certainly and Danny felt a chill go up his spine. He did not see the man there when he walked up to stand under the willow tree to observe the peaceful scene. He wasn’t sure why but he felt like an intruder. He looked out at the peaceful lights flying and walking in the distance then back to the seated man. Danny smiled politely.
“They’re not people. They’re ghosts.” He said lightly but where his conversation went, he really wasn’t sure. There was no way the man had lived in Amity Park without knowing about the ghosts that lived here too. The man shook his head, tutted, and crossed his wrinkled arms to his chest. His weathered wood cane shifted against the bench but did not fall.
“They look like that to trick people.” He said with a malice that made Danny recoil.
“That… They’re not tricking anyone. They’re just existing.” He said and the man scoffed at him.
“They look like that to make themselves more palatable for people. These things are evil.”
Danny stared at the man who glared across the scene before them. The ghosts who could only come out at night were harmless. Most of them were Echoes, ghosts that couldn’t do much more than relive a moment in their lives that proved they had existed at all. Danny had tried once to speak to one of these souls and they either didn’t see him or had ignored him completely. He wondered which it was sometimes and what the difference was between him and them. Were they ever at the same power level he was? Able to move freely and follow his own thoughts? Were they evil like the man said?
Was there enough difference between them that he could be sure he wasn’t evil too?
“How do you know they’re really evil? They’re not hurting anyone.”
“They’re biding their time. They’ll behave for now but the other ones,” The man waved a hand at the boy. “Big nasty things, bombing the streets and frightening people.”
Danny frowned and the man kept going.
“Ghosts didn’t used to be a common thing. They were special, peeks at what used to be and now you see them all the time in town. They’re so strong you can see them clearly and they’ll look right at you and cause you pain.” Danny looked at the man who just stared straight ahead. “It’s only a matter of time before these ones start lobbing bombs at people killing us all.”
A hard lump formed in Danny’s throat. “They just-“
“They’re vile.” The man scowled at Danny. “They’re evil creatures- not human anymore and pulling their power from somewhere evil to stay where they don’t belong.”
Danny frowns at the man and it’s tempting to leave. Did other people believe this?
“You don’t think they belong in the human world?”
“Not anymore.” The man uncrossed his arms. “Ghosts can’t be here on the living plane with that much power. Ghosts are what’s leftover from human souls. What these are, they’re not leftover so much as they are repurposed.”
Danny turned toward the bench completely turning his back on the park and the spirits alike. The old man looked at him for the first time and brown eyes were clouded and practically looked through the boy. It was unsettling but the man seemed earnest.
He didn’t even want to ask but he had to know.
“Repurposed into what?”
“Into demons.”
Another chill struck through Danny and something in his core swirled at the word.
Demon…
The vitriol hatred was still there but it simmered under the calm words. “They’re so far from God that their souls turn into something unholy, untouched by light.” The man said solemnly. “They cause pain and suffering to the living and lie about everything. Agents of the devil come to bring hell on earth. All while wearing the face of the dead to make us drop our guard.”
Danny stepped back but didn’t run away. “You think the ghosts in town are all… demons?”
“I know they are.” The man rasped almost sadly. “The way they look, sound, they’re trying to mask what they really are. They’ll trick you into thinking they’re just kids and then drag you into hell themselves.” The man pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and coughed into it. Danny watched but the man didn’t continue without prompting which he couldn’t help but do.
“How do you know?” The thoughts began to swirl in his head. “How are you sure that they’re not just ghosts with powers?”
“What do they need powers for exactly? They’re too sturdy. Too strong.” The man tucked the cloth away. Danny peeked at it and half expected to see speckles of blood like a movie but it was clean. The man straightened his posture. “Why would you make a creature strong if you didn’t plan on using it for what power is used for? The strong ones are going fight for dominance to claim this land their own for the devil. The ones that look like us are here to convince us all it’s okay.”
Danny looked out over the ghosts scattered around the park. He wanted to tell the man no and that he was wrong, but what if there was a truth in what he said?
“I- Phantom won’t let that happen.”
The man scoffed.
“Phantom is the worst of them all.”
A pit formed in his stomach so quickly he felt sick.
“He didn’t do anything wrong.”
“It’s very existence is wrong.” The man scoffed and he began to stand up. Danny stepped backwards quickly but the man barely looked at him as he continued.
“Phantom… Ghost… It’s still an unholy creature. Damned to earth unable to pass into heaven and apparently kicked out of hell.”
Tears formed in Danny’s eyes. “That’s not true. He’s just a kid-“
“Even if it was a child once, it isn’t anymore. An undead creature of bizarre power fighting for dominance in a damned town while wearing the face of a child,” the man picked up his cane and shook his head. “If that isn’t a demon then Lord help us when it reveals its true face.”
Danny stepped back again onto the grass and further under the weeping willow. He stayed there firmly off the path as the man walked slowly toward the street.
A gloved hand rubbed at green eyes. He grit his teeth and called after the man’s retreating form. “You’re wrong. I’m gonna prove it!”
“Don’t be naïve, child.” The man waved a dismissive hand back at him. “Save your soul while you still can.” He turned around a corner and was out of sight.
Danny felt a rage in him that felt so cold and kicked off the ground launching himself into the air. He saw the man from above but what was there to say? What if the man talked more and that rage solidified and proved him right? What if Phantom was the worst of the ghosts, no, the demons that now inhabited the town.
It made sense. He wasn’t a ghost, he wasn’t human. Both species had told him he didn’t belong in their worlds. If he didn’t belong to either side, maybe the old man was right.
If he wanted answers, maybe he needed to look down.

Twins AU BUT WITH ANGST!
So I'm writing for the Twins story rn (snails pace of small updates and working on it but it's going) and an idea struck me and I wanna share it and bring it all the DP x DC and Twins AU lovers attention cause were missing out on some PRIME ANGST. (BAD Mom Talia ahead btw, I normally like her in the grey areas but this time, bad mom) (also I LOVE some good Angst.)
So we all know that Talia had Damian cloned right? And later that clone killed Damian. What if, now hear me out, after that (when Damian is brought back to life) what if she tried to use another clone (only not aged up so they’re at Damian age) to coax Damian back into the League and that he can use the clone as a replacement for Danyal (Danny), its her ‘gift’ of trying to give him back his twin.
Can you imagine the feral outrage, insulted anger or heartbreak he'd have over that. He didn’t care much about the first clone cause it had his eyes but this one has Danyal’s blue eyes. Especially if Damian does care for Danny and doesn't want to hide that anymore now that hes not in the League and he can freely talk about his twin without being hushed up (but hasn't been able to due to his own complex emotions over missing his twin). Can you imagine the after emotions after Damian verbally tearing into his mother for such an insult against his twins memory and life and defeating the mindless doll like clone (Taila made it so it'll follow Damian's orders with no fuss should he come back, she ended its life once they left Gotham, another failure it seems) and Bruce asking 'Who is Danyal, Damian?'.
AND THEN CAN YOU IMAGINE THE NUCLEAR MELTDOWN OR RAGE HE'LL HAVE IF HE SEES DANNY. Like Danny is in Gotham for something (class trip? One of his Rouges sneaking to Gotham? A ghost fight taking him there and is sight seeing in his human form now that its over? Sam taking him as her Plus 1 for a social event (Dating? Best friends? Danny being cool with being used as an (entitled, dumb, rich, elite) heir repellent for Sam? [Side note: ALSO DP fans we need to really play with that idea more, Sam comes from money her parents would totally want her with a powerful rich heir, which she would HATE and would totally ask her friends to be her Elitist Heir Repellent] Idk any one is good. Her parents hating that cause they planned to have her 'single' for some of the elite heirs) and Danny gets his face decked hard or his head gets nearly chopped off by a katana.
And when he looks at who did it he's surprised to see someone who looks nearly like him but when green eyes being held back by a few other guys (Dick and Jason)
Does Danny have his memories? Does he remember Damian? Or has he hoped to never see his brother again after all these years? Idk it's open for anyone to pick and choose the plot, I'm just throwing the idea out into the sea and waiting to see if anyone wants to try nibbling at it.
Do they discover the actual truth? Does Damian despise Danny the entire time? Does it go away when the Bats find proof that Danny isn't a clone (online media showing pictures of him growing up in a small town called Amity Park)? Does Damian take note that despite them looking so much alike, Damian is more leaning towards Bruce's body type in the future, while Danny's is leaner/more runnerish (mainly due to their fighting styles/what they fight)? Which is a huge difference from the last clone that was merely a copy paste of Damian but with blue eyes. Idk.
[Small side note: normally in the Twins stories Talia is the one that saves Danny if he dies/sent away, if it's bad mom Talia, who saves him? Maybe have Clockwork save Danny, cause he knows Danny's future is Phantom and later King]

Chapter: 1/12 Next Versión en Español
Also on:     A03 || FF || DeviantArt || Facebook.
Summary: After saving the world and all the stress of the aftermath, the Fenton family decides to take a nice, relaxing vacation to Paris. Little do they know, it's not the peaceful retreat they were expecting.
Chapter 1: “New beginnings”  There are certain universal truths in life that everyone comes to accept. One such fact is that ghosts are real, another is that some ghosts are half human. It all started when those facts were proven on top of all. When the most important fact should have been the asteroid disaster –that most people had named the ‘Disasteroid’. When the end of the world was announced, to say everything devolved into chaos would be an understatement, the reality was much, much worse.
Another fact was that a tiny, almost nonexistent town in the middle of nowhere appeared in the news. The town of Amity Park gained global attention when their crazy mayor proposed a ‘solution’ to the crisis. Vlad Masters aka Vlad Plasmius was the ‘halfa’ that suggested that in order to save the world after previous, seemingly useless attempts, the solution was to simply make the asteroid intangible. Of course, that didn’t work as expected, but no surprise there, he was too preoccupied with plans of world domination to fully think things through.
Now, the whole of humanity is thankful that a single ghost, or well, a single teenager, had come up with a plan that worked. Maybe the young ghost was inspired by Vlad because of the general idea but it worked and that’s the most important part, or nobody would be alive now. The world is very thankful for that, for the braveness of Danny Phantom.
As a thank you, the people of the world erected a well deserved statue of the now global hero in each major city around the world. It was all anybody was talking about, that and the sensation of intangibility. Each person had their own story of what happened that fateful day, what it felt like to be intangible. Although that's the main topic of conversation these days, heroes have existed for a long time now. In Paris for example, Ladybug and her partner Chat Noir lead the Miraculous team, although they didn’t really have a team anymore. Closer to Amity Park, New York City is full of heroes, many of them without hidden identities. There are even rumours of heroes in other parts of the world such as in China, Brazil, some parts of Africa, London, Japan and more. The main point is that heroes aren't new or something that would surprise anybody anymore.      Now the world has learned about Amity Park, its people, and its ghosts. While there are confirmed heroes and rumours of others all over the world, none of them were able to stop the asteroid hurtling towards the Earth. The world’s largest military powers had combined their resources trying to destroy the source of the end. It was later revealed that they were sabotaged thanks to the not-that-helpful help of Vlad Masters (who intervened without asking). While the whole world finally noticed the small town of Amity Park and learned all about them, and of course their crazy halfa mayor.  All of the heroes who wanted to do something to help were too busy fighting the villains who decided to try something in the chaos. The world needed a new hero to step up, instead they got a villain masquerading as a saviour. Nobody could have predicted that he would fail so drastically. In the end, the Earth was saved by a new hero, another halfa, although not many people knew he was one.
In Amity Park, the GIW, known by most people as the ‘Guys In White’, were stopped by real government agents. It came out that they were actually a fake agency bankrolled by Vlad and his shady business dealings to protect citizens of Amity Park and Vlad when he was there. Vlad has them as one of his ‘real’ businesses.
The FBI had taken over the situation in Amity Park, mostly because the villain of the story was an American who lived in Amity and therefore this case fell under their jurisdiction. The other countries had allowed them to handle the whole affair, to keep the process of condemning Vlad contained in one country. The rest of the world washed their hands of it all, the only thing that they seemed to agree on was to make him pay.
After interrogating everyone involved with Vlad’s failed mission and questioning the team that worked with Danny to build the intangibility transfer device, the FBI learned the true identity of a certain ghostly hero. After which, they began working closely with a particular family: The Fenton family.
The Fentons were a family of four, Jack Fenton, Madeline “Maddie” Fenton, Daniel “Danny” Fenton and Jasmine "Jazz" Fenton. As specialists in ecto-science Jack and Maddie were the only ones allowed to work in what was left of Vlad Masters’ lab, since they knew how most of his technology worked. Their children, Jazz and Danny, worked with them, helping them to dismantle it to be carted away by the FBI in the name of public safety.
The FBI also enlisted the help of the Fentons, and possibly NASA, but that was classified, to repair the very same rocket that Vlad had paid for, the one he had sabotaged with the wrong coordinates, so they could use it to fetch him back from space. The people of the world wanted justice, and they wouldn’t be able to get it if he died out there. Now, not even the Fentons knew if he would become a full ghost or just die, leaving nothing but a body behind, and they didn’t want to take any chances.
In the end, he was tried and found guilty of multiple counts of public corruption, including election fraud; terrorism; corporate fraud and theft of intellectual property; as well as blackmailing the entire world. He was sentenced to live out the rest of his natural, or rather unnatural, life in a special FBI facility, complete with a phase proof cell and ghost restraint handcuffs. As for the rocket, the official reports list it as ‘destroyed in a crash landing’.
At the Fenton’s residence, Jack and Maddie had worked hard to reconstruct their previously destroyed lab (most specifically their ghost portal) with the pieces that they got from Vlad’s. After confirming with the FBI their intentions to use the technology and making their case for why they need a functional ghost portal, the Fentons were allowed to make their repairs. They also reverse engineered several of his inventions to better understand how they worked and, in doing so, they discovered even more of Vlad’s evil plans. It was hard to reconcile everything that they had learned with what they thought they knew of their old college friend.
After that, everything in the lab went fairly smoothly, considering the circumstances, but all that changed when they discovered an even more immoral half-finished experiment. While the main information seemed to be destroyed and/or missing they managed to get the gist of it. A clone, and a clone of none other than Danny Phantom. That was the second most shocking news for the Fentons, right behind the revelation that Vlad Masters was a half ghost. It hit Jack especially hard, as he was the closest to Vlad back then, they were best friends, roommates… A good friend? More like an enemy.
Jack and Maddie knew that their son disliked Vlad, hated him even, and the more they learned of the truth, the more they understood why. Maddie specifically knew that Vlad and Danny had a rivalry of sorts. She’d thought it was because Danny didn’t like or even appreciate the fact that he was trying to hit on her. Vlad’s advances had always made her uncomfortable, even more disgusted than what Danny felt. It was personal for her. But that hadn’t been it, or at least not all of it, and wasn’t that an understatement? A clone? What hadn’t that man done? What crimes against nature hadn’t he committed?
They had just finished going over the papers, what little research remained, and determined that those analyses, even unconcluded, were 100% of a clone. A clone of their own son, a halfa himself. They didn’t know how that would even work, how it would be possible to replicate such a unique state of being, and couldn't comprehend what or who they would be if that was complete. The two shared a grim look, they needed to talk to their children about this, there was so much that they still didn’t know.
Danny and Jazz were on the main level helping catalogue some equipment from Vlad’s lab, sorting out even more ghost weapons from the rest of his inventions. That man had so many weapons, of all shapes and sizes, weapons they now knew had been used against their son. They were grateful that they would never be used like that again, neither Vlad’s nor their own. They regretted their actions every day, every shot, every hurtful word they had used against Danny Phantom.
They decided to have their much-needed family discussion over dinner that evening. Maddie left Jack putting together a list of the most important questions from the information they did have and headed upstairs to the kitchen. She opened the fridge and stared at its contents for a moment or two before deciding that it would be better to order pizza instead.
Maddie finished ordering the pizza and after a while, Jack joined her in the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Danny was done with the group that he was cataloguing with Jazz’s help. Jazz was the one that was guiding Danny with the correct order, she is the most organised one between those two after all.
Jazz hovered around Danny as he finished going through a box of weapons, once again repeating the instructions when he cut her off.
“All right, Jazz! I know! We’ve been doing this long enough,” he gestured at all the boxes in frustration. “I know you just want to know how many times he used these on me or if he gave them to Skulker, or another ghost, or whatever. You can stop now.”
“That’s not true, Danny!” Jazz defended, even though she had been wondering about that. Danny just glared at her and rolled his eyes. “Whatever you say, sis.” He picked up the empty box that had previously been full of weapons, “Look I’m done with this one. I don’t know about you, but I’m starving and I think I heard mom and dad talking in the kitchen.” He jerked his thumb toward the door.  “Yeah, me too and I get it, all right… but I'll be here when you’re ready to talk,” she said earnestly. She was a bit disappointed with herself for upsetting him, she had been hoping he would be more open about everything now that their parents knew his secret. Unfortunately, everyone was still a bit tense about the whole situation.  “Whatever.” Danny rolled his eyes again and headed to the kitchen with Jazz following close behind. “Danno! Jazzy-Pants!” Jack greeted them when he saw them. “How goes the sorting?”
“Fine.”
Jazz elbowed her brother. “He means we’re almost finished.”
“That’s great, kids!”
“We ordered pizza.” Maddie interjected. “It should be here soo–” The ringing of the doorbell cut her off.
“I got it!” Jack shouted, already halfway to the door.
“Now I wonder who that could be,” she murmured.
“I hope it’s the pizza, all that sorting really worked up an appetite!” Danny’s stomach growled as if to accent his point.
“Yeah, Mom,” Jazz added, "it's probably just the pizza.”
“That was fast…” Maddie commented distractedly.
“Ah? Why do you say that, Mom?” asked Jazz, a bit worried. “It hasn't been that long…” Maddie considered the time she thought had passed.
“Pizza’s here!” Jack announced as he brought the boxes into the kitchen. “Actually, Honey, it has been a while since I heard you make the order.”  “Oh? I didn’t realise…” Maddie glanced at the clock on the wall again and shook her head to clear it. “I guess I’ve just got a lot on my mind right now, that’s all.” She tried to give her family a reassuring smile, but it came across a bit forced.
“All right...” Danny exchanged a worried glance with Jazz. There were only a few things that could distract his mother like that and none of them were good. He knew his mom came up to the kitchen a while ago and heard her talking on the phone or something but didn't pay that much attention as he was still following Jazz's ideas of cataloguing the last ghost weapons from the box. “Okay… Danny and I will set the table then.” offered Jazz. She understood Danny's worry, anything that knocked their normally highly perceptive mother off kilter couldn't be good. She hadn’t noticed when her mom came upstairs, just when her dad did, as he was the most noisy, so she couldn’t say for sure how long it had been since she placed the order.
“Yes, thank you darling,” said Maddie and she took a seat while the kids started putting dishes on the table.
“You know Mads, we could just ask him...” Jack suggested in a low voice, almost whispering.
Maddie shook her head. “No, Jack, I don’t think that simply asking him would work, it has to come up in the conversation naturally.” She took a fortifying breath and then blew it out slowly. “Alright, I think I'm ready now.”
“Alright.”Jack repeated, nodding solemnly, before finally sitting down himself. Once the whole family was gathered around the table and had pizza on their plates, it was actually Danny who broke the silence.
“Mom, Dad…” Danny began, “I know this hasn’t been easy for you guys, there’s been a lot to unpack, uh, literally and figuratively… But you know I’m okay with it, right? Like, you guys can talk to me about stuff, ask me questions, whatever…”
He knew very well that they had questions for him, he suspected they were about Vlad and his weapons or something similar. He didn’t need to hear it to know. Although, he did hear them. After all, that was an almost-whisper.
“Danny...” Jazz said, concern evident in her voice. She understood that he probably knew the situation better than she did, as she had ignored their parents' quiet conversation, but that didn’t stop her from worrying about her little brother.
“It’s alright Jazz,” he reassured her. “Ever since they found out, it’s been a big help, but…” Danny sighed. There was still a lot they didn’t know, and he was getting tired of walking on eggshells around them.
“I know.” Jazz gave him a small, encouraging smile. She had a better idea of what Danny had been through than their parents, and she still had questions. They had been doing their best to let Danny come to them on his own time, but subtlety had never been their strong suit. The curiosity and the guilt both were eating them alive.
“What is it, son?” asked Jack, wondering if they had been too obvious, hoping they hadn’t done anything to make him uncomfortable.
“I don’t know...” Danny rubbed the back of his neck, glancing nervously at his sister. She nodded as if to give him courage. “It’s just… you looked like something was bothering you, like you had a question, or something…”
Jack took a quick look at his wife and squared his shoulders before turning back to the kids. Sometimes just asking was the best policy. “We may want to know something… ”
“Jack!” Maddie admonished. She looked at her husband in shock, that was not what they had discussed. Then she looked back over at her kids, especially at Danny. He looked nervous, but hopeful, like he was really ready to talk to them. Jack had noticed it already and taken the appropriate action, it was time for her to get on the same page. She took a deep breath, “I’m sorry. You’re right, Dear, we should just ask him.”
“What is it, mom?” Danny’s gaze flickered anxiously back and forth between his parents, “Dad?”
Jazz reached for Danny's hand, squeezing gently, letting him know he wasn’t alone. It was something she had always done to calm him down, she was glad it still worked.
“Look son, I know you say that you’re ready to talk about all this, ready for us to know… and we want to! But for your mom and I… well… it’s hard to imagine how all this was for you, especially because… we... we…” Jack sighed. This was harder to talk about than he thought it would be. After a brief pause, he tried again, “Your mother and I found out about the cloning experiment. There was inconclusive but valid information on Vlad’s lab computer files. We have the backup copies saved on our lab’s computers now.”
“Oh!” Danny’s eyes lit up with understanding. “I almost forgot about that.”
“Danny, dear… you knew?” asked Maddie, concerned.
Danny nodded sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck once again. He wasn’t sure where to start explaining, filling in the missing data… some of it wasn’t pretty, there was a reason that information was destroyed.
“Oh, God,” Maddie swore. “He actually did it, didn’t he?”
“Heh, yeah...” Danny grimaced, dropping his hand with a sigh.
Jazz took hold of his hand again, silently supporting her brother. She didn’t know the full story, but she gathered that it was something very difficult for him to talk about.
Danny gently pulled his hand out of his sister’s, nodding a silent thanks to her before turning back to his parents and beginning his explanation. “He was trying to clone me to create the perfect son, or something… You know, I never actually let him explain it.” He scoffed, “That’s one of the many reasons why I called him a complete crazy fruitloop, because obviously he is. He had this huge container with the ‘perfect specimen’ or whatever he called it and all these clones–”
“Clones?” Maddie interrupted his rambling, “As in, more than one?”
“Yeah, there were… a few.” Danny bowed his head, voice tinged with regret. “I didn’t realise at first… they didn’t look much like me. Vlad called them failures…”.
“‘Were?’” Jazz asked, picking up on his use of the past tense. “What happened?”
“They… they were killed...” Danny practically whispered, keeping his head down.
“What?” Jack cried out, voice filled with pain, already mourning the children he’d never met. He hadn’t even known about them a few hours ago and already he would give his life to protect them. How could Vlad have done such a thing? Surely he would have considered them to be his own children, in a way. “Vlad… he didn’t... he wouldn’t… would he?”
“Yeah… in a way, he did...” Danny replied. He lifted his head a bit, but instead of looking at his family, he only gazed sadly at his own hands. “But only because he ordered them to attack me... and I didn’t know… we were fighting and they just... they turned to goo.”  “Goo?” asked Jazz, a bit confused, it seemed her brother had left out a lot of details when he’d told her this story before.
“Yeah, remember the container I told you about? It was like a long, uh, tube thing, like out of a movie...” Danny began gesturing with his hands, attempting to describe the shape of the strange device.
“All right...?” said Jack, failing to follow along with the explanation.
“But then, if they turned to, um, goo… then there aren’t any...” Maddie was unsure of how to phrase the question, the situation being more complicated than it seemed.
“Clones?” Danny supplied, to which Maddie nodded. “Only one: Dani. That’s with an ‘i,’ short for Danielle.”
“Danielle?” asked Jack, “Isn’t that a girl’s name?”
“A female clone?” asked Maddie, blinking in surprise.
“Yes…?” Danny replied hesitantly. Is that not common for clones?
“Danny, you said that he cloned you, I’m not an expert or anything, but I’m pretty sure a clone of you should be a boy. And probably a baby… just a few months old at most. Clones do start as babies, right?” Even with Danny using his hands to show how big the container had been, Jazz was having trouble imagining anything bigger than tiny test tubes with little babies floating in them. They didn’t seem nearly big enough to hold a teenager like Danny. “Normally, you would be right, Jazz.” Maddie raised her hand to stop Danny from interrupting. “But the information we found in his lab included a way to alter and accelerate the cloning process. He managed to clone Danny, but in a very different way than traditional science has done in the past with dogs or sheep… or any animal for that matter. I hate to give that man any sort of credit, but frankly, it’s impressive.”  “How is that possible?” asked Jazz, feeling lost. Her specialty was psychology, not genetics.
“Well, what your mother and I found was very interesting...” Jack began while nodding along to it.
“It was incomplete,” Maddie continued where he left off, “It was almost as if it had been destroyed or perhaps sabotaged.”
Danny grinned at his mother’s knowing look, “For legal reasons, I know nothing.”
Maddie just shook her head, “As I was saying, the information we did manage to recover seems to indicate that he was able to create a genetic accelerator that would allow the clone to be aged up very close to Danny’s age, if not the exact same. Danny, how old would you say this… ‘Dani’ is? And do you have any idea where she might be?”.
“Ohhh… Oh!” Danny gasped as if something had just clicked in his mind, as if that was something that he had never considered.
“You haven’t thought about it, have you, little bro?” asked Jazz, easily understanding her brother's reaction.
“What? Pshh! No… I totally, definitely… possibly, maybe… thought… Actually, how do you know about clones, Jazz?” Danny asked, quickly trying to change the topic as he didn’t know where Dani was.
“Hey, that’s just common knowledge, we learned about it in biology class!” Jazz defended herself.
“Danny,” Maddie’s voice held a warning, “You did learn about that, didn’t you? I believe Mr. Lancer explained it to us, and all the parents, in a parent–teacher meeting about grades and school activities a couple of months ago… It was the same with Jazz when she was your age. Like your sister said, it was part of the curriculum. Superhero or not, we expect you to keep up with your lessons, young man.”
Jack nodded along looking very serious.
“Oops...” Danny muttered, realising his distraction plan had backfired.
“We should probably go over your textbooks, or review some of your old lessons if you don’t remember that...” Maddie said thoughtfully, they still had so much catching up to do to get Danny back on track with his schoolwork.
“I should ask Sam or Tucker about it, compare notes… I may have slept through it… sorry.” Danny brought a hand up to his neck sheepishly.
“It’s all right son,” Jack placed a large, comforting hand on Danny’s shoulder, “We know you had a lot going on, but now you have help.” He knew now that Danny was probably staying up late fighting ghosts and not getting enough sleep at the time.
“We’re sorry, sweetie, if we had paid better attention, we could have helped you sooner. We promise to do a better job of helping you with your time management and catching up with your studies.” Maddie wondered if she and Jack would ever truly understand what being a halfa had meant for their son, how it had impacted his whole life.
“I know, I know… and I do appreciate it, I do…” Danny looked around for a way out of talking about his poor grades, “Um, hey… shouldn’t we really be focusing on Dani right now? You know the uh, missing, like, 12 or 13 year old girl? She could really be anywhere you know, probably just wandering around...”
“I see what you’re doing and this conversation isn’t over young man, but yes, finding Dani is more important right now… So, 12 or 13 years old?” said Maddie, getting back on track.
“Well… she was, like, two years younger than me… or at least that’s how old she looked...” Danny thought back to the last time he saw her.
“But you don’t know for sure.” concluded Maddie, it was easy to get confused about someone else's age without asking, after all.
“No, sorry. When I met her… well she almost ended up like the others… But hey! Dad helped her!” Danny snapped his fingers, remembering the occasion.
“I did! Wait, I did?” asked a confused Jack.
“Well… your invention did. But that counts, so yeah, you did!” said Danny with a smile, especially knowing what a close call it had been.
“Well, son, I’m glad to hear it!” Jack boomed. “But, uh, how exactly did that happen? Why didn’t she turn into ‘goo’ like the others, and, uh, what invention did it? Because well…” His inventions weren’t really designed to help ghosts. Now it was his turn to look sheepish.
“Oh, well… ” Danny looked up at the ceiling in thought, “It happened a couple of months ago, when I first met her…”
“She tried to attack you, right?” guessed Jazz, “You said the others did that, so...”
“Yeah, she was the most stable one, so her ‘father’ sent her to gain my trust, or whatever,” Danny put as much venom into the word as he could muster. “He called her his daughter and still considered her disposable. Unfortunately, she had to learn that the hard way, and now she doesn’t even care what happens to him… ”
“Oh, Danny...” Jazz murmured, she could imagine the frustration that he was feeling.
“It’s alright Jazz. Please go on, Danny-boy.” Jack needed to know more about which of his inventions was used to save Dani, he needed to know more about the daughter he’d never met.
Danny sighed, “No, it’s not alright… She’s her own person, but she still deserves someone who cares about her… and well, he did create her...”
“I know what you mean, Danny, but it is okay,” Jazz spoke with a calming voice. “Yes, he may have created her in his lab, but that doesn’t automatically make him her father. You said it yourself, he doesn’t really care about her, so it’s completely understandable for her to reject him like that...”
“Thanks Jazz,” Danny said softly, understanding what his sister meant by that.
“You know, your sister is right,” Maddie added proudly. “Vlad created a clone of you, Danny, but that’s it. He hasn’t put in any of the emotional labour, he hasn’t earned the right to be her father. There are a lot of families that aren't related by blood, but those relationships take work just the same.”
“He hasn’t earned it, has he?” said Danny, the implication that Dani basically didn’t have parents setting in. She was rejecting Vlad after all, her creator.
“Of course not, son! Vladdy may have been the person responsible for her existence, and even though he did an amazing job with the genetic acceleration and all that…” said Jack, very impressed with that part of the information.
“Jack! Focus.” Maddie scolded, even though she also was impressed by the work, it wasn’t the time to say so.
“Right! Sorry! He may be a genius, but he’s still evil! An evil, evil genius…” Jack stopped himself from saying more, even though he was still very impressed by how smart his ex-friend was.
“I admire his work too, Jack. But I’d admire it even more if he didn’t throw ethics out the window.” said Maddie. “But that’s a discussion for another time.”.
“I know, I know…” Jack muttered. “Our priority right now is finding Danielle–”
“Dani,” said Danny, correcting his dad, as none of them like to be called by their full name.
“Right… And to think that before I thought that a ghost and my son having the same first name was confusing...” Jack laughed.
“It’s ‘Dani’ dad, not ‘Danny’ there’s a difference,” said Jazz, exaggerating the pronunciation even though there wasn’t any difference in reality, it was more for them.
Jack was astonished and blinked at the confusing pronunciation a few times, whispering both names under his breath as he tried to hear the difference.
“Jack?” said Maddie, raising an eyebrow, she knew that there’s nothing going on with the pronunciation but she wasn’t going to spoil the kids’ fun.
“Right… the point is that Dani exists and, well… we have to find her!” Jack smacked his fist into his palm for emphasis, “She’s technically a Fenton, and Fentons stick together.”
“What?” asked a confused Danny, he hadn’t expected that much support from any of them.
“That’s true little bro, think about it… she’s basically you, right?” said Jazz, liking where this was going, she would love another little sibling, especially a sister.
Maddie hummed. “Well, theoretically Jazz is right. She is a female clone of you, and before anyone asks; yes, it is possible for her to be you even as a girl. That could be an anomaly caused by the acceleration process that Vlad used to create her.” she explained, preemptively answering any questions that might come up.
“That actually makes sense… I think...” said Jazz, even though that wasn’t in her questions at all. “I haven’t thought about it. Last time I saw her, like I said, your experiment helped me stabilise her, even though the fruitloop kept saying he needed a ‘mid–form sample’ or something like that. He was planning on using that to fix his main clone, a male one.” Danny added as an extra explanation.
“Of course! It all makes perfect sense now!” Maddie’s fist struck her palm as she made that claim. “What does, mom?” asked Jazz, not understanding what their mother was getting at. “Well, Danny said that the other clones turned into goo, right?”
Danny nodded in confirmation.
“And that Vlad had a special container for a male clone...”
Danny nodded again.
“And Dani was the only clone that survived long enough for Danny to stabilise because she is a female one.” Maddie explained matter-of-factly. “Okay, you lost me.” Danny was… not expecting that at all. “Think about it, sweety. Vlad, as you know, had a thing for me and an obsession with you. He wanted the perfect little family. From what you told us and what we obtained from his lab, as well as the disturbing AI hologram of… myself,” Maddie made a disgusted face at that. “I still can’t believe he– well actually I can. Anyway, he wanted you to be his perfect son, but you told him no. So just like he made a hologram copy of me, he wanted a perfect clone of you, and that meant it had to be male. Why couldn’t he just take ‘no’ for an answer?” she sighed.
“It’s alright now Maddie, he’s long gone.” Jack said sadly. It had been hard for him to accept everything that his ex-friend had done. If they had known before, if he had talked to them about what had happened, maybe they could have worked things out and they could even… who knows, hunt ghosts with him or something along those lines, the way they did with Danny now. But he wasn’t about to forgive him that easily, not after what he’d done.    “I know, I know…” Maddie said more calmly. “And now, to think that there is a little girl just wandering around all alone… Wait! Danny, where did you say she was again?”
“I… I don’t know… I’m sorry” Danny hung his head in shame. “I only know that Vlad… well, he tricked the Huntress–”
“Who?” asked Maddie.
“Uhhh… it’s complicated?” Danny said with a sheepish grin.
“Danny...” warned Maddie, they had agreed on no more secrets. He sighed, “It’s not my secret to tell. Although I know she’s probably looking for an opportunity to speak with me since, well… she was there when it happened.” He really wasn’t going to tell them about Valerie, not without talking to her first. He knew well enough that she only accepted his apology for revealing her identity to her dad because what she had planned was a suicide mission.  “So she knows.” Maddie stated.
“Yeah, she does now, but up until that point she didn’t… and Vlad convinced her, I don’t know how, probably with money –she only knew him as Masters, not Plasmius– and he sent her to find Dani to… well, to destroy her. But didn’t tell her that! The lie was that Dani wanted to kill Masters… and, well, she– the Huntress wasn’t just going to let that happen. So she managed to get Dani, but it wasn’t a fair fight ‘cause Dani was in pretty bad shape, that made the Huntress stop and plan ahead, creating a trap for me, but I knew the truth, and well, I told her ‘C’mon, does she look like she’s gonna do anything?’ Then the Huntress realised that Dani and I couldn’t be lying… But at the same time she was a ghost hunter first… so...” Danny explained in a rush, barely pausing for breath. “She didn’t try to, um, destroy... you?” asked Maddie, she knew that a lot of people had tried that, including them. “Well… maybe. But just like you guys, she didn’t know!” Danny hurried to stop his parents from feeling guilty about hunting him again. “Oh, honey…” Maddie started, Jack nodding along apologetically, ”We’re so sorry for all–”
“I know, I know… You’re sorry for everything, the shooting, the hunting, the hurtful words, blah, blah, blah. Can we please move on?” said Danny testily. The long apologies were really getting old.
“They’re not going to stop any time soon and you know it, Danny.” Jazz teased. She knew her little brother was getting tired of the long speeches asking for forgiveness, but they had a long way to go before their parents’ guilt waned. “I know.” Danny sighed.
“Right, right. Sorry sweety. Anyway, I suppose you managed to convince the Huntress to help you, then?” said Maddie, getting back on track. “Yeah, that’s right,” Danny picked up the story where he left off, “and I figured that you guys probably had something in the lab that could help Dani and I… I brought the Huntress here–”
“Wait, you came here and we didn’t notice?” Maddie cut in. “I mean, I get it, your father and I get distracted sometimes… but you came here with another hunter to look for something that could help ghosts….” She was beginning to see a theme in their house, and she didn’t particularly like it. “Uh, sorry?” said Danny. He wasn’t really sorry, but still felt the need to apologise.
“No, no… it’s all right son, you did what you had to do.” Jack chimed in. He was mostly letting Maddie do her thing, ask the right questions, and get the information they needed.
“It’s all right, Danny. You have always done the right thing, and we trust you. So what did you use to help her?” asked Maddie, she was very curious as most of their inventions back then didn’t work in favour of ghosts. “It was, uh, that serum that dad was working on, the ‘Ecto–Dejecto,’” Danny said, remembering that day. “It wasn’t working right, it was making ghosts stronger instead of weaker.” “Oh, that one!” Jack brightened in recognition, then sobered, “But it does work, it just took time.” “What? But all the samples were… bigger.” said Danny, getting worried.
“That may have been true at the beginning, but as the Ecto-Dejecto ran its course, those specimens, well, they just… gooed?” said Maddie, unsure if saying ‘goo’ would help in this case.
“WHAT???!!!” Danny exclaimed, imagining the worst case scenario and for a brief moment his eyes flashed a toxic green before returning to their normal blue.
“Calm down, Danny, it wasn’t your fault, you didn’t know. You did your best and believed that it would be enough. I’m sure we can come up with something to help Dani. We just need to know where she is...” said Jazz.
“I… I don’t know where she is… I think I saw her helping during the Disasteroid, with the other ghosts. She must have travelled there, when she heard what he did.” Danny said, unsure of himself. It had all happened so fast, he hadn’t paid attention to every single detail. “But… I don’t think she stayed, she just… kept travelling.”
Maddie hummed, “In that case, we– Wait…! She came here to Amity when she needed help, right? That’s the last time you know for sure that you saw her, and the first time she was in Wisconsin with Vlad, right?” she asked, trying to understand the whole picture better.
“Well, actually– Wait, Mom, do you think she would come back here when she feels weak again?” Danny asked hopefully.
“Considering she’s done it before, it seems likely. And maybe, if she was indeed there in Antarctica, and she knows that we know who you are now, she’ll feel more comfortable coming to us for help. She may also have heard that Vlad revealed his secret to the world and well...” Maddie was hoping that Dani only hid because of the whole ghost secret identity thing. “Yeah, she came to Amity looking for me, she really believed I could help her… but if the Ecto-Dejecto won’t help permanently, then what? You aren’t gonna let her just turn into goo, right?” asked Danny, wringing his hands subconsciously. “Of course not, Dann-o! She’s a Fenton after all! Even if she wasn’t, she’s still a kid, a halfa, but a kid first,” said Jack, nodding.
“That’s true,” said Maddie. Suddenly she snapped her fingers, “I know what to do! You said that Vlad was trying to force you to give him a “mid–form” sample, right?” “That wouldn’t be dangerous for Danny, right mom?” Jazz glared pointedly at her mother, worried about what she was getting at. “Of course not, darling, and we would get Danny’s permission before we extract the sample. But if we can correctly use the scans and diagrams Vlad created, we can use your DNA to help stabilise little Dani permanently!” said Maddie with confidence, after all, there had to be a reason he needed the mid-morph sample.
“Really?” Danny asked hopefully.
“Of course, son!” Jack’s voice boomed with the same confidence as Maddie’s, then he also snapped his fingers, “She is a clone of you, that may mean she also shares the same ghostly signature as you!" “Oh, I see where you’re going with that, honey! That could work!” said Maddie, looking at her husband excitedly. “What would work?” asked Danny, glancing back and forth between his parents. “A way to find her,” said Maddie, smiling. “How?” asked Jazz, a bit lost, it’s like their parents had started communicating telepathically, or something.
“Simple, we use the Booo–merang!” Maddie said proudly, her smile growing wider.
“But mom, that always just hits me...” said Danny, unsure of this plan.
“Normally, yes, but we’ve been working on ways to avoid that, now that we know why it was happening. We’ve actually been modifying all of our weapons to ignore you, to ignore your ghostly signature,” Maddie explained. “We have that information, we could use it to track down Dani! But first, son, we will need to scan you down in the lab to get the mid-form sample as well as both... um, sides…” She was unsure how to describe the change.
“Both sides?” Danny asked for clarification.
“From human to ghost and vice versa.” said Maddie, feeling a bit more secure with the term.
“Ah! Okay,” Danny grinned, glad they were on the same page. “And that would help her, right?”
“That’s right. With your help, we can permanently stabilise her and she’ll never have to worry about turning into goo again,” Maddie said with a small, but sincere, smile.
“What are we just sitting around for? We have a new family member to help!” Jack smiled wide and finished his piece of pizza, gone cold at this point.
The Fenton family had a lot of work ahead of them. They continued their conversation over the rest of the cold pizza, planning and deciding and hammering out the details. All they needed was to put everything in motion, it was only a matter of time until they could find Danielle and bring her home.       To be continued… :D :D

Angstfest Day 1:
Title: The Demon of Amity Park
AO3
Words: 423
Rating: Mature
Summary: Danny walks down from his room to get some breakfast.
Warnings: Suicidal Thoughts, Implied Self Harm, Mental Breakdown
First time doing Angstfest and I'm super excited! Hopefully this fits the vibes of Nobody Knows AU!
Danny had just wanted breakfast. That was all he wanted. He was on his way to the kitchen when he heard voices.
"IT'S NOT A SENTIENT BEING! IT'S A DEMONIC GHOST!" His mother was yelling at the newscast again. The town had recently grown to at least tolerate Phantom, but his parents, not so much. He heard his dad growl at the TV.
"The demon must be stopped. The town is clearly under its control."
Danny's breath tightened in his chest. His appetite was immediately killed as his dad prattled on about what they'd do, the 'demon', to him. He tried to calm down enough to go into the kitchen, but his hands wouldn't stop shaking. He opted to return to his room.
He felt constricted as he walked to his room, passing his parents who were still shouting threats. He quietly closed the door and sank to the floor. Danny began to sob.
He was all alone. There was no one who could comfort him. No one knew his troubles. He was just a kid who was stupid enough to go into a lab and turn on a portal. Everything changed after that day, and no one batted an eye.
At first it was fun. He was a superhero! Just like the comics! He soared in the sky and fought bad guys! Over time, however, he started noticing some changes as a ghost. His teeth grew long and sharp, same with his nails. His skin started exhibiting a greenish hue. His ears were long and pointed like an elf. He looked less human, and that terrified him.
His changes weren't limited to his ghostly form. His human skin grew deathly pale, and his eyes glossed over like a freshly dead corpse. Danny looked down at his blue tinted fingertips. He wasn't human, not really.
He barely had to eat or breathe. His heart was slower than what should be possible. He was so cold to the touch that neither of his friends would even touch him anymore. His tears flowed down his cheeks.
He looked in the mirror at his glowing eyes. Maybe they were right about him. Maybe he was a monster. Maybe he was just a demon that needed exorcized.
Danny glanced over at the pocket knife his dad gave him. Yeah, that's it. He just has to be freed. Tucker and Sam wouldn't have to try to include him anymore. Jazz wouldn't have to worry. His parents would get their wish. The demon would no longer haunt Amity Park.

So in an au where Danny has two obsessions, protection and space, I think it'd be really interesting to explore angst specifically about his space obsession.
Like, the protection obsession is fine, right? It serves a purpose. Even if it's not something that humans do, it's not going to separate him from humanity, because it's all about keeping them safe. It's not something he has to worry about.
The space obsession, though. It's not rational. It's not useful. It's too much like the ghosts he fights every night. Can he trust himself with something like that? What if it goes too far, and he doesn't even notice? Where is the line between religiously checking NASA's twitter and becoming obsessed with actually going to space? At what point does he stop caring about other people's property and safety and become something like Technus, building slapdash rockets in the middle of Amity Park?
If he feeds it, it might get worse. So he doesn't. This simple thing that used to being him joy has been tainted by his ghostly nature, and he can't let himself have that escape anymore. He unfollows NASA's twitter, he doesn't stargaze on patrol, he lets go of any unrealistic dreams he might've had of being an astronaut someday.
And then he has to deal with the consequences of being a creature made of emotion and obsession and depirving himself of it. Does he lean into his protection obsession even more, and stop taking care of himself? Does he become lethargic and depressed? Does his ghost core become less stable? I don't know! But it fascinates me.

Sup motherfuckers, I have another barely thought up au that I would like to hand over to you.
So basically, when Danny, Sam, and Tucker were 14 years old.
The world was invaded.
It wasn't an instant invasion at all, instead it was a gradual thing. Interdimensional aliens sent a virus to infect humanities greatest minds and leaders, before slowly spreading to a larger chuck of the population.
Then when a significant portion of the human race was infected.
It activated.
Supposedly that virus was there even before the trio turned 14, which means the alien's prepared this in advance. It went unnoticed for years and when it was noticed?
It wasn't pretty.
People dropped like flies, their bodies unable to defend themselves from this virus that killed them in a few days.
The longest someone lasted was a week.
Taking advance of the massive drop in population, the aliens finally invaded, opening a large portal that sent through ships and troops that further killed of the human race.
Surprisingly, the GIW or Guys In White, proved themselves to be useful in fighting against the aliens, beating back the troops and either reclaiming lost territory or holding onto it with an iron grip.
They, along with the military managed to reclaim some semblance of order in various spot outside of Amity Park.
Amity Park was completely unaffected by the virus, the residents biology somehow prevented the virus from even lasting a few minutes within their bodies.
That doesn't mean they weren't unaffected by the invasion when it happened, the ghost shield around the town took the brunt of the damage, with the aliens trying and failing to get in to the town as easily as any other.
Phantom then appeared and beat them back.
The entire world was shaken by this seemingly out of nowhere invasion, with anywhere other than Amity Park suffering great losses.
Agent Alpha, the chief of GIW, approached the Fenton family. To various reactions from each memeber.
Blatant distrust from Danny.
Wariness from Jazz.
And politeness from the Fentons.
Agent Alpha threw away his dignity at asking non-government officials for help, not like that even really matters anymore to be honest, and asked the Fenton's to join their war effort.
Danny and Jazz immediately said no.
To which Agent Alpha wasn't surprised at, but he asked from time to explain.
Jack and Maddie agreed to hear him out.
Agent Alpha then went on to explain what life outside of Amity Park was like, telling them how humanity has been culled significantly down from they're frankly overpopulation. Cities have been destroyed, with some smaller islands and continents taken over by the alien force.
Agent Alpha doesn't want them fighting in this war physically, no. What he wants is for them to replicate what they did for Amity Park with their ghost shield, and supply them with Fenton works technology.
In return, they will offer any material they have at their disposal. And if they don't have it?
They will find it.
He again emphasized that they themselves do not have to fight in this war, they're actually far to valuable for that, but he wishes for them to supply their side with the defenses and weaponry needed to survive and hopefully win this war.
And how could the Fenton's say no such a thing?
Jack and Maddie went down into they're lab and handed them anything they thought they would need.
Such as ghost shield's, Fenton phones, Fenton bazooka's etx.
After the GIW left, they immediately started working on what was requested of them.
Danny and Jazz couldn't help but feel a bit of displeasure at the way they're parents are back in their lab and not coming out for hours on end after they finally decided to be a family again.
Even though they understand why they have to do it.
Danny himself has been rather fidgety a few weeks after Agen Alpha came by, with the alien attacks getting less and less frequent because of the GIW and Military deploying bases to fend them off from anywhere close to the Fentons.
Two months later phantom joined the war.
With intense displeasure from his family and Sam and Tucker, but Danny assured them he would be ok. Hell, some other ghosts even joined in.
Sam went off into the zone to pleas Undergrowth to help her, help her gain power to fight without the need to rely on any kind of tech or weaponry.
Perhaps Undergrowth was amused, or perhaps he simply took a liking to the girl. Regardless, he took her under his wing and taught her what humans would dub as 'magic'.
Tucker and Jazz, the great minds that they is. Helped the Fenton's develop and make ideas for new technology or to even upgrade existing ones.
With they're help, they even managed to complete the Ecto-Skeleton, and even make prototype nano-bots that enhanced healing and made the user stronger.
A year later was when Sam came back stronger than ever.
A year later was when the Fenton's and Tucker managed to complete the nano-bots and make even more of the Ecto-Skeletons.
A year later was when more ghosts joined the war.
A year later was when Sam joined the war and unleashed the might have nature upon her enemies.
A year later was when people started to gain abilities not unlike those out of comics like the elements and flight.
A year later was when the aliens found a way to kill ghosts.
Nobody knew how they managed to find a way, but they did. Adding on to even more of the stress this war has on basically everyone.
Even with all of this tech the Fenton's made for everyone, the nano-bots in their blood streams making them tougher and stronger. The war was still ongoing.
Even as a half and being far more durable than the normal human, Danny still had to take the nano-bots.
He couldn't say no to the worry and concern from basically everyone he knew.
To everyone's surprise, Jazz became a pilot for one of the alien bioships they managed to take down and rework for themselves. She was determined to not let her brother fight alone here, to which is understandable, but Jack and Maddie still asked her not to this.
Faced with her determined expression, they could only give her a hug and words to get back safe and send her on her way.
Jazz was one of the only few who were highly compatible with the alien bioship, so much so that it was a perfect assimilation.
In the middle of the year, humanity finally saw hope. Sam, Danny, Jazz and the GIW took down an enemy mothership.
To which the Fenton's greedily took and remade, and as even more compensation, Agent Alpha and the Military leaders let them keep the thing whenever they completed it.
Sam herself helped in multiple ways, one of them was fighting yes. But she also grew food and helped guide those with similar abilities along with their powers.
Tucker, Jack and Maddie finished the Mothership nearing the end of the year. Moving the most important things into it such as research and all that.
A few days into December was when something terrible and great happened.
Danny was almost killed by an alien mothership.
Another mothership was taken down.
Danny took the brunt of the damage, almost dying again just to ensure that the ship was taken down. He was incredibly weakened because of this, his body littered with cuts that were thankfully healing thanks to his powers and the nano-bots.
Jazz immediately scooped him up before he fell to the ground, not taking any type of bullshit and taking him straight home and staying by his side.
Agent Alpha gave her the go ahead, much to some of the Military leader's chagrin, mostly because she was one of the best pilots out of hundreds of people.
Agent Alpha then reminded them that she is just a child and was unwillingly to take zero shit in this regard.
Sam also pulled away from the war for a time, going back to check on her friend, which again, just like Jazz. Agent Alpha gave the go ahead for.
Although it was a reduce in their combatants, they were good enough to hold out for an extended period of time.
Though Jazz and Sam had to inevitably come back to help, Agent Alpha still gave them the leeway to go back and check on their friend whenever they felt like it. The children already joined a war they shouldn't be in, he'll gave them as much leeway as he's able and deal with the other leader's to protect what little innocence that they have left if he has to.
A few months later, and Danny still hasn't woken up. Connected to the best medical facilities they have in the Fentonship, they would have thought him dead if they didn't know any better.
Didn't help how Danny was looked like he was basically engulfed by the bed and hooked up to various machines.
Safe to say, that year ended off with a very solemn Christmas.
The beginning of next year was when Jazz and Sam left to back to the battle field.
The middle of next year was when another mothership fell and Jazz and Sam returned to Amity park.
The end of next year was when the aliens had enough.
Enemies swarmed the bases around Amity park, swarm after swarm after swarm. Taking them out and reaching Amity park.
The last mothership left focused most of its power into a single shot, leaving enough to leave it floating in the air, and shot it at the Ghost Shield.
The ghost shield broke.
And the aliens invaded.
Jack and Maddie told Jazz, Sam and Tucker to stay in the mothership. It was no request either.
It was an order.
Amity was quickly overrun, people dying left and right. Even Vlad put aside his one-sided feud with Jack to help against the hoard.
It wasn't enough.
Jack and Maddie built a giant ghost portal before this happened, big enough to fit the Fentonship ship through. They said it was to get even more ectoplasm to power the increasing demand of their tech.
Which wasn't a lie, but wasn't the whole truth.
The Fentonship had a secret command installed into it, one not even Tucker himself knew of.
When it looked like Amity Park would fall, and the combined forces of Jack, Maddie, and Vlad weren't enough. The Fenton's executed the command.
The Fentonship powered up and flew itself into the Ghost Zone. Then, sharing a nod between the three of them.
The ghost portal was broken.
Vlad made sure to deactivate and take apart every ghost portal he has himself, and so did the Fenton's. They let Vlad in on the plan and he, surprisingly, agreed to it.
The Fentonship flew into the zone, and then through another portal. Lading in an empty part of space.
Jazz was barely keeping herself together, and when a hologram video of her parents standing together and saying how "If you are seeing this, then we are already dead", and then explaining they're plan to keep them safe in case Amity Park ever fell.
Jazz couldn't keep herself together anymore.
Sam and Tucker comforted her in anyway they could, and even they themselves couldn't help but shed tears over what they've heard.
Danny is still in a coma.
Amity Park fell.
The Fenton's are most probably dead.
Earth lost a great combat force and minds.
so there they were, 4 kids flying through space with one of them in a coma and the unknown of if their home even survived.
Some time later, they don't know how long but they could tell its been a while, they came across an earth look a like.
They don't know if its actually earth, but they couldn't help but hope that they're home actually survived, and that the Fenton's aren't dead and that there's still time.
A few hours prior, the Justice League discovered and unidentified spacecraft flying to earth.
