#I feel like porsche did in the beginning of the show

I think vegas pete will remain a mystery to me. The popularity I mean. I saw 1 picture of them today with more than 20 000 likes on twitter. 20.000 likes. How ? For 4 episodes. Is it what peoples call pretty privilege ? Lol the ship is carried by bible. He is hot and the rest is history. Played by another actor, not as attractive, I'm sure it wouldn't have been the same.

They made them so dramatic in the last two ep it made them laughable to me. All the screams, the cries, the i love you, the pet and owner talk beside the pool at the end of the episode please 💀 their story didn't felt earned I'm sorry. Despite of the screentime they took from the main story for the last episodes may I add. 😇

I don't understand the popularity either, because the ship does not live up to the hype by any means. They get likes and whatnot, but it's all smoke and mirrors. The reason I say that is because you could see a single tweet with 20k likes for them, but the ship's hashtag barely even reaches half of the tweets for the show's hashtag in regards to the Twitter trends. Yesterday is a perfect example of this. By the end of the episode, the ship's hashtag pulled in over 80k tweets but the show's hashtag pulled in over 1 million tweets. That's not even a third of the show's hashtag numbers, which means the majority of the people who were using the show's hashtag to tweet about the show weren't using the ship's hashtag.

The ship's hashtag finally broke 100k tweets today. It took all night and some of the morning for it to finally get to 100k tweets for a show that easily pulls in 1 million tweets within an hour of the episode airing. That's why when I see stuff like that, it doesn't really make me think it's more popular than it actually is. It's just smoke and mirrors; it's an illusion. When you really look at the numbers, it's not as popular as you might think. I've never seen the ship's hashtag even break 500k tweets. Never. And yes, I do pay attention to the Twitter trends because that's just what I do.

Bible is attractive, but him being attractive couldn't save this ship. It couldn't give us chemistry and that's the saddest part about all of this. He's so pretty, but it wasn't enough to give us heat and lust. What a waste. Also, watching Pete give that pathetic speech made me lose my lunch. If you're into pet play, that's fine. But using that to bring someone out of grief and despair because their father just died is probably not the right idea. Pete thought the power of pet play would be the right method to bring Vegas out of despair, and I will never forgive the writers for that. I had so much secondhand embarrassment over that. I almost died from it!

Hey! Sorry that it’s been so long since I posted I had some personal things going on and I was busy with school and work.

Bruce

Since Bruce Wayne is supposed to be a rich, flashy, playboy I think he would drive a car that would give off the same energy. Now, of course Bruce Wayne is the mask and Batman is the true man, I feel like he would really try to find something that looked expensive, sounded expensive, and most importantly was expensive. And the perfect car to go along with Bruce Wayne’s persona is the Lamborghini Murciélago. Lamborghini’s are the perfect car to say “I’m rich”, and it fits the playboy aspect as well. Of course Bruce dose have a HUGE car collection but I’m not gonna be able to run through all of those so that’s why I just picked a car that matched “him” and that I feel he would drive often.

Dick

Why do I feel like Dick would have either a basic ass/cheep car or he would be the one that would want a super expensive fancy looking car?? I mean, Dick is also known to be a little bit of a playboy (in some series), he is usually quite a ladies man. And I think a nice car would go good with that. So I’m just gonna say he has a Porsche 911 and be basic lol.

Jason

I feel like Jay is a classic car lover and isn’t a big fan of modern cars. I also think he would own muscle cars and sport cars (and of course his motorcycle). So what better car for him to have then a Ford Mustang Boss 429. It’s perfect for him! It’s practical, sporty, racy, and a classic. He also seems like he would enjoy fixing up cars/motorcycles and he’s probably damn good at it too. As someone who works on cars often I can say that something else he would love about this car is that Ford is very reliable and doesn’t brake down 

in critical areas has often (please don’t take offense).

Tim

Tim would want a practical and useful car but would of course want it too look nice has well. And I’ve been searching for a LONG TIME to find a car that I think would fit him, and I think that a MK4 Toyota Supra is as close as I could get lol. I do see Tim as a car lover has well and I think he would enjoy going to car shows and looking at classy sporty cars but that kind of car just doesn’t fit his personality so he wouldn’t want anything like that.

Damian

Damian is Bruce Wayne’s son…of course he’s gonna have an expensive fancy car just like his dad! That’s why he would have a Lamborghini Huracan. A classy and sporty car that looks wayyy too nice to touch, and if you do happen to even look at Damian’s car he would kill you. He washes it everyday and waxes it once a week, he fucking loves this car!

Did you know that Murciélago is Spanish for bat, and when Bruce Wayne drove a Lamborghini  Murciélago in “Batman Begins” it was supposed to be a hidden easter egg?

What is the age when we started to care less about our date of birth? When our birthday starts to feel mundane , just another day in this life on earth . To begin with, I never did make a fuss about my birthdays. The greetings of my most loved people were enough for my happiness. I never have wanted celebrations , parties, or gifts.

That was until they threw me the most meaningful birthday, I could ever hope for. There stood Max , Lando, and Daniel with the biggest of grins holding what seems to be an attempt of a birthday cake as they sang to me happy birthday — and then came their present. In the box , 4 smiling faces stared back at me, their facing were shining with unadulterated joy and peace — it reflected true happiness… it was a framed picture of us , in the McDonald’s parking lot, the day when we all first met.

I never in my life would have guessed that the three strangers who met me at my worst would still be around and care enough to celebrate my life. I could never be grateful enough for the light that these three people had shone upon me and guided me to the end of the dark tunnel.

Oh how time quickly goes by , because another year is added to my life . It’s my birthday and now I’ve learned to celebrate it with the people who love me back.

The past year might have been rough, but now I’ve never been happier— and it’s all thanks to the people who held me dear in their hearts. Max Verstappen , The 2 time world driver’s championship winner , had just officially announced his relationship with multi-business owner and Sky Sports Formula 1 photographer Y/N L/N . Both have confirmed their relations on instagram with a sweet and personal post , a few hours after a fan had leaked their attendance to a mutual friend’s concert . And was later on spotted strolling a locally owned flea market in Manchester.

The Dutch Red Bull driver and the Korean born photographer had been already close friends prior to the relationship ; often times within the company of Formula 1 drivers— Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris. The coming together of the couple was a pleasant surprise to the realm of motorsports. As fans continue to anticipate the kind of dynamic these two would bring to the paddock, specially with relation to the 1st driver of the Italian racing team Ferrari — who was linked to L/N before.

Y/N L/N has already been a paddock favorite amongst motorsport fans not only for her close knit friendship with the drivers and some of the team principals , but also for her professionalism on track. Y/N had stated in an interview before that her love of the sport had led her to the opportunity to intern for the Italian racing team, Ferrari — and was later on officially scouted by Sky Sports as one of their Senior Design Directors for their photography and videography sectors .

Moreover, the boom in popularity of Formula 1 in social media has lead teams scrambling for purchase— and the knowledge of Y/N L/N’s ending contract with Sky Sports has been their life line; as several of the racing teams have reportedly been in negotiations with L/N.

Nevertheless, due to the high probability of Y/N’s shift from Sky Sports to exclusively work for Red Bull Racing, some argue that lack of professionalism and partiality will be at play . But, such claims are quickly shut down when Red Bull had released a statement that proves that a contract was already in process, way before the relationship of the dutch champion and the accredited photographer has been established.

Still, even with the flames and barbs of the media , Verstappen and L/N are cool as a cucumber — as the two were spotted celebrating the photographer’s birthday with friends and loved ones before the end of month long formula 1 summer break.

The next Grand Prix is fast approaching. I do not know about you, but I believe that things will be a little more exciting for Formula 1.

“Could you— can you transform into, like, a Civic hatchback or somethin’?” Noah inquires quietly after having to clear his throat a bit awkwardly— probably because he’d spent pretty much the entire ride back to Brooklyn in stunned silence, still mulling over Optimus’ request. “Y’know, before we roll into the neighborhood?”

There’s a beat of silence. And Noah wonders if he’s said something wrong.

“I know you did not just ask me to do that,” Mirage snorts then, in a clearly offended tone. Because apparently, Honda Civics are beneath him.

Noah scowls heavily down at the radio.

“Oh, my bad, your highness—” he begins to apologize sarcastically, only to be cut off by the mech.

“You’re not forgiven,” Mirage points out snobbishly.

Noah lets out a frustrated groan, fingers curling inward around his box of electronics— which he’d pulled into his lap earlier amidst the silence, as something to busy himself with, checking if everything was as promised; not crushed— and one of his fingers pokes a hole straight through the worn down cardboard.

“Look,” he sighs. “It’s broad daylight out. My man, Reek, he’s always out front and he’s gonna recognize you in a second flat. Plus, everybody and they mama knows I’m way too fuckin’ broke to be crusin’ ‘round in a Porsche, bro. Come on.”

Mirage’s radio emits a droning buzz, followed by an annoyed groan just as the Porsche begins to slow and pull over.

“The things I do for you,” Mirage snaps. “They’re not natural. It should be studied.”

He pops the driver side door open.

“Out.”

Noah’s brows furrow, confused, but nevertheless he does as he’s told and climbs out with his box still in hand. He rounds the Porsche and steps onto the sidewalk, chuckling awkwardly under his breath as a few pedestrians glance his way when the silver and blue vehicle burns rubber and sends up a puff of smoke as Mirage peels away from the curb.

Noah feels kind of abandoned for a moment.

His chest does that stupid twisty thing that he’d thought it had finally decided to stop doing. He wonders for a moment if he should’ve sucked it up and just not said anything.

But then the loud sound of an engine revving calls his attention and Noah’s jaw drops when a silver Volkswagen Corrado SLC VR6 coupe with blue stripes rolls up to the curb.

It’s definitely not a Civic.

The passenger side window rolls down.

“I hope you know this is like the equivalent of me asking you to shave all your hair off for me.”

Oh.

Noah definitely should’ve just sucked it up. Maybe asked Mirage to drop him off down the block instead. There’s so many other ways he could’ve gone about this.

He feels like shit. And it shows in the way his shoulders droop and he lowers his head, looking up at the Corrado kind of sheepishly.

“I’m just yanking your chain, sweetspark,” Mirage admits casually. “I don’t give a flying frag. Hop in.”

The words are said so flippantly, Noah almost misses the new term of endearment the bot somehow manages to sneak in there— at least he thinks it’s a term of endearment anyways; the cybertronian version of sweetheart.

His cheeks flood with a swift rush of heat. And he tells himself it’s just because of the stifling heat outside. But he can’t exactly explain away that stupid hot jabbing sensation in his chest that’s also decided to make a sudden return.

He huffs and rounds the car once more, Mirage opening and closing the door for him as he climbs inside.

“You’re a dick,” Noah grumbles beneath his breath as he sets his box down on the passenger seat then fastens his seatbelt, his face still flushed.

“Yeah, but it’s not like you didn’t already know that.”

God damn him, he’s right too.

Noah decides to ignore him for the next few minutes it takes for them to roll up outside his apartment building— evading the bot’s comments and questions with a few spaced-out hums. Instead, he keeps watch out the window for anyone who knows him too well and might think it’s weird for him to be pulling up in a strange car. A car that Noah still— despite the change into a Volkswagen— could never be able to afford.

Mirage’s engine cuts off as soon as he pulls over, after expertly parallel parking between a Mazda 626 and an old Lincoln town car Noah recognizes as Mr. Delano’s, a senile old man that lives a few doors down from him and sometimes gets into shouting matches with the ghost of his ex-wife, Shirley.

“Ladies and gents, we have arrived at our destination,” Mirage announces through the radio with a crackle of static— and Noah thinks he does it on purpose, to make the dumb joke sound more authentic. “974 Wilson Avenue. You may now unfasten your seatbelts.”

It’s adorable, unfortunately, and Noah can’t help the smirk it pulls out of him.

“Got ‘em.”

Noah shakes his head and turns to look out the window— hoping that it somehow hides the quickly-growing full blown smile on his face from Mirage.

Across the street, Mrs. Moreno’s triplets are playing double dutch with a long jump rope that obviously used to be a few smaller jump ropes, which have now been tied together.

“So, I’m picking you up later tonight, right?” Mirage inquires after a moment, his playful tone falling into a far more somber one— like he’s kind of scared Noah’s going to say no. “After you talk to your family and pack?”

The smile on Noah’s face drops.

He’s had a long ride back to Bushwick to think about the answer to that question. A long time to think on Optimus’ offer. And he still doesn’t know what he’s going to do.

Or maybe some part of him does but he’s torn between his options.

On one hand, he has to face his ma— who’s already gonna tear him a new one for missing dinner and not checking in— and tell her he’s leaving again, with barely an explanation as to why. And on top of that, he has to explain it to Kris too. At least when it comes to his little brother, he can give the kid a version that’s closer to the truth.

On the other hand, he has to do something that he’s pretty sure is gonna break his heart; say goodbye. Might break Mirage’s heart too— or rather, his spark.

A few buildings down, Noah can see Mr. Jackson’s son— Noah thinks his name is Paulie— feeding the neighborhood stray cats, something that usually brings his neighbor, Mrs. Vargas, out with a broom in her hand, yelling at him in Spanish because she hates that the ‘pequeños demonios’ keep eating the plants she has on her windowsills.

Except Paulie doesn’t speak Spanish and usually just waves obliviously.

Noah glances down at the radio and heaves a soft sigh.

“Mirage,” he begins to say. “Look, dude, I don’t know if—”

Mirage’s radio releases a garbled, high-pitched whine that makes Noah wince a bit.

“Aw, come on,” the bot moans— and Noah imagines that if the mech were in his rootmode, he’d be kicking his legs in a fuss. “You can’t leave me with those tightasses, man!”

Noah huffs softly beneath his breath, digging his teeth into the smooth skin on the inside of his bottom lip.

“I’ll beg if I have to, gorgeous.”

Noah’s just about had it with him.

Mostly just because he thinks his heart might give out with the way it keeps tripping over a beat every time the mech uses one of those goddamn pet names.

Is it flirting? It feels like flirting. But Noah’s not sure. Because he’s a loser and he doesn’t actually know the first thing about flirting. He’s never had time for that before.

He’d always been too busy serving in the army and then running around, worrying about Kris, to even let himself stop and think about something as frivolous as trying to get his flirt on.

Plus, Noah doesn’t know if cybertronians even know what flirting is.

Sure, it feels deliberate. But it’s totally possible Mirage is just repeating shit he’s heard on the streets, or on TV. Right?

Noah’s eyes widen.

What the hell is he even thinking?

He shakes his head.

“Look, Noah. I know this is… a big decision,” Mirage comments softly. “I really want you to come with me. I mean, come on, man. We’re partners. But… I’ll understand if you don’t.”

Why does the mech have to be so freaking sweet about it too?

Noah wants to dig the heels of his palms into his eyes and push until he starts seeing stars.

“How about I give you some time to think about it?” the bot suggests. “I’ll drop by later tonight. That sound like a plan?”

Noah just nods. Because he doesn’t trust his voice not to betray him in that moment and drop like he’s some kind of pre-pubescent teenager.

The Corrado’s driver side door clicks open.

Noah unfastens his seatbelt.

“Don’t forget your gizmos,” Mirage reminds him pointedly. “I know how important they are to you.”

A sharp squawk from a few feet away has Noah’s head snapping up to see a wide-eyed Reek— who’d clearly crossed the street, headed in Noah’s direction— trip over nothing but air and go down hard on the pavement.

“Oh, shit,” Noah exclaims, jumping out of the Corrado. “You aight, man?” He zips over to his fallen friend’s side and reaches down to help the man up.

Reek, with the help of Noah who’s got ahold of one of the other man’s shoulders, stands on shaky feet. His nose is busted and a small rivulet of blood is running over his lip and down his chin.

“Shit, bro, you’re bleedin’,” Noah tells him.

But Reek doesn’t seem to be paying Noah or the blood on his face any mind. No, instead he’s gawking at the Corrado behind Noah.

Noah feels his muscles tense.

“Noah…” Reek begins slowly. “Did that motherfuckin’ car just talk?”

Noah thinks he should be commended for the way he immediately snaps into action, releasing his friend and taking a step back, forcing out a chuckle that’s only kind of awkward.

“A talking car?” he snorts, reaching back to shut the Corrado’s driver side door in a way he really hopes looks chill and unbothered. “Man, you trippin’. You been smokin’ way too much of that chronic shit.”

He hears the window make a whirring noise that clearly means Mirage is rolling it down and he steps back again— his backside coming into contact with the driver side door— in an attempt to shield it from Reek’s view.

“Don’t play with me, man!” Reek cries out, pointing at him. “I ain’t crazy. I know what I just seen with my own two eyes!”

Noah’s eyes widen and he takes a moment to glance around the street, hoping their little spat isn’t drawing any unwanted attention.

“So, I’ma ask you again, dawg,” Reek snaps. “Did that motherfuckin’ car just talk?”

“No?” Noah tries again.

“Yes.”

The admission comes from over Noah’s shoulder and Noah absolutely freezes.

“What the fuck…” Reek breathes out, utterly stunned. “It just talked again. The fuckin’ car just talked.”

Noah turns his head to the side for a second and narrows his eyes down at the silver and blue Corrado.

“Shut up,” he whispers, both hands fisted at his sides, before he whirls back around to face Reek. He stubbornly ignores the way the metal at his rear warms up and seems to tremble.

“It just talked again,” Reek is babbling away, his wild gaze jumping between the car and Noah. “It talks. It’s a talking car. The fuckin’ car just talked again, Noah.”

“No, it didn’t!” Noah denies immediately— unable to control the way his voice rises in pitch in his panic.

Mrs. Moreno’s kids pause their game of double dutch for a second to glance across the street at them.

Noah reaches up and waves at them dumbly until they return to their game.

“Yes, I did,” Mirage’s voice contradicts— and Noah’s gonna kill him, strip him for parts, something, because the asshole sounds proud of it too.

He snaps and whirls back around.

“God damn it, Mirage,” he stresses, forcing his voice to stay low and ignoring Reek’s ravings behind him. “So much for being a master spy. Announce it to the whole world while you’re at it, why don’t you? Way to be slick, dude.”

“Oh, I can show you slick,” Mirage’s sly voice drawls. “All you gotta do is ask nicely, baby. I’ll put on a real good show for you.”

Okaaaay.

Noah thinks it’s finally safe to assume that Mirage isn’t just repeating shit he’s heard on the streets or on TV. This is definitely deliberate.

Noah thinks even the back of his neck flushes this time around.

He bites out an exasperated groan and bends down to lean into the Corrado’s cabin as Mirage rolls his engine over, reaching out for his box. He steadfastly ignores the way the metal digging into his stomach vibrates just a little more than strictly necessary.

“We’re gonna have a serious conversation about this later,” he points out, glaring at the radio as he pulls the box into the driver’s seat so he can get a better grip on it. “Now get outta here before you give my friend a heart attack.”

“Yes, sir,” Mirage taunts immaturely— and Noah’s sure that had the bot been in his rootmode, he would’ve stuck his tongue out at Noah. If that’s even what it’s called. Noah knows he has one, he’s noticed it before.

Noah yanks his box out of the car and, reaching out to grab ahold of Reek’s arm, moves them both over to the sidewalk where he can do nothing but sigh as Mirage once more peels away from the curb with a shriek of screeching tires— damn near scratching the faded paint on Mr. Delano’s Lincoln.

“Noah…”

Noah turns to face Reek, his freckled cheeks absolutely still blazing away.

The man’s got one brow firmly arched. And he still looks kind of blanched, something Noah’s never seen from him before, but he’s also got this wary look on his face

“Look, man, I can explain—”

“Noah,” Reek begins again, tentatively— like he’s about to ask something that even he can’t quite believe he’s going to ask. “Did you fuck that car?”

Noah damn nearly chokes on his own tongue.

Hmm, I’m having feelings about this scene again, so before I get back to fic writing, I gotta just get this stuff off my chest.

See, in a lot of reconciliation fics I’ve read for KimChay, most often times when Chay asks why Kim acted the way he did, the reason is almost always some iteration of, "I wanted to protect you." Which is, in and of itself, it's not totally incorrect, but in my opinion, that answer has always felt a little off, yknow? Because it gives Kim the luxury of time in thinking about his actions and coming up with an excuse to justify his own cruel behavior. It gives him a way out that honestly feels a bit unfair to Chay, so most often it's totally brushed off to the side.

I'm not saying that answer is totally wrong, since I myself have used it in a roundabout way in my own fic, but the way I see it, at that specific moment, Kim's motivations as to why he dodged Chay and pulled away from him had absolutely nothing to do with protecting Chay and everything to do with protecting his own pride.

It's definitely not a calculated move; it's more impulsive than anything else. Lol It's an interesting thing to think about, since a part of me can't help but wonder: is this just a really mean habit he has, or is it because he didn't want Chay's perfect image of him to shatter?

Either way, whether it's part of his personality or all about protecting his image (I'm personality more leaning towards the former, ngl), Chay's wellbeing is not at all taken into consideration in this scene.

As a fan of Kim's character and trying to remain loyal to how he's portrayed in the show, I gotta not give him excuses, yknow? XD Lol

I think part of the reason this scene is so hard to watch for me is because, at the very moment at which Chay had needed Kim the most to explain to him what's going on, although Kim returns his feelings, the latter cared more about his own feelings than he ever did about the person he's in love with.

It comes to a head with their next encounter at the club scene-which is also painful af to watch-because in this moment, they both care more about their own feelings than they do each other, since Chay didn't even stop to think that Kim had just protected him from making a big mistake. And Kim didn't take Chay's feelings into consideration that seeing him would be hard to bear for Chay, considering how their breakup had gone down. :'D

In terms of character development, it's not totally a bad thing. After all, who in the world ever likes being caught red-handed AND called out (in this case, both Kim and Chay to each other)? In the beginning of the show, Porsche had a penchant for calling out Kinn's shit behavior-even when they were both aware that Kinn was already falling for him-and that allowed for the Theerapanyakul of that relationship to learn that if he wanted to be in Porsche's life, if he wanted Porsche to want to be in his life, more than loving him, Kinn also had to learn to respect him.

It's the same theme with both VegasPete and KimChay: there is a difference between loving someone and respecting them.

And for men like Kinn, Kim, and Vegas, can anyone even begin to imagine how difficult it would be to learn to respect someone, when all of them have lived their entire lives up until that point turning their noses down everyone else? That it's second nature for them to think of everyone else as trash?! That to have that sort of arrogance is part of why their family has been able to climb their way to the top?!

(The VegasPete novel makes so much more sense to me now, because Vegas found it so hard to learn to respect Pete that he had to create an entirely different persona for it! LOLOLOL HE HAD TO DISASSOCIATE, BECAUSE HIS ARROGANCE IS SUCH AN INTRINSINCT PART OF HIS PERSONALITY AS A THEERAPANYAKUL! HAHAHAHA! And Pete is all, "my baby is trying his best, so points for effort" Lol)

Kimchay's scenes up until this point have been tender and poignant, but there are moments even in the beginning where although Kim was falling for Chay already, he didn't respect him whatsoever (ignoring his calls, giving him homework without any intention of following up, etc.)

The breakup scene was a jostling reminder to the audience that we cannot ever forget that Kim is a Theerapanyakul, and with that name, comes all the hubris and arrogance that being a member of that family entails. There is credibility to what Pete says when he states that out of all of them, Kinn is the most normal.

In other words, Kinn is the most "normal" because not only does he genuinely care about the wellbeing of the bodyguards in a way the rest of the family doesn't (Tankhun is tactless when he speaks towards them, Vegas uses them as meat shields, and Kim is dismissive and cold towards them, etc), but also because of the softness he genuinely harbors inside, he's more easily able to let go of that arrogance (case in point: the forest adventure with Porsche).

Is it any wonder to Korn WHY the bodyguards can easily be bought off? :'D

(Side note: We know Kim himself is somewhat aware of his own vanity, as he was able to perfectly say the line in the screenshot without hesitation. On top of that, this is a very loaded line; wtf has he done before that he would even be aware of his own reputation?! Haha! I know the established fanon is also that he's bad at playing detective, but I wonder if it's not necessarily that he's bad at intel gathering, and more like he was having an off day with this particular leg of his detective work, since daddy dearest is actively making sure he's a couple steps ahead of his son. Hmm.

In my opinion, it lines up more with Kim's subsequent actions later down the road, and the overarching theme of KPTS (falling in love is in and of itself a humbling experience), as this gorgeous fucker did not at all think about the consequences of his actions. XD

It isn't until Chay has completely cut him off that Kim begins to learn that simply loving him won't be enough-will never be enough-to get him back in his life.

Woke up this morning thinking about Macau and Chay and their reluctant proximity in the Main House after canon happens. No one knows why Chay’s dropped out of school but Macau finds out. He finds out and he feels just a bit jealous because everyone around him has someone, and he feels just a bit sad because Chay did have someone and now Kim’s gone.

He does his best to help Chay move on. They develop hobbies together. Movies. Gaming. Chay even starts writing music again. He admits to Macau that he used to write little notes on cute stationary paper for Kim and now doesn’t know what to do with the other 100 sheets. So Macau teaches him how to fold the notes into little shapes so he can write and put them away, like Pete taught him. (Something something, Pete is a father and brother and mentor figure, Pete is just perfect)

Somewhere along the line, Macau sees how Kim is pining just as badly for Chay. He convinces Chay to hear Kim out. It’s not easy for anyone; Chay is confused, Kim is broken, and Macau is watching his friend leave him behind. But Macau, who’s always been a smidge selfish, finds himself okay with that. It’s okay to be left behind because Chay and Kim can be happy. He just hopes it’ll be him one day.

He and Chay spend another day folding notes. Chay folds a really simple flower and says he’s going to be honest today, with everyone: Kim, Porsche, etc. Macau watches him write I love you into another purple note before folding it into another flower. He should feel sad. He’s not.

Days later, Macau is only beginning to make his peace with Chay going back to Kim. But it’s okay because Chay still hangs out with him. Kim does too. It’s like they’re inseparable, and Macau feels safe. He wonders if Kim’s just putting up with him but Kim has a way of making Macau feel like he’s not alone, not the forgotten son of this family. He and Kim go out for smoothies and judge the Thai Top 10 weekly singles. Kim picks him up from school and even pays a visit to Vegas when Macau wants to switch faculties. Whatever their new bond is, Macau is grateful because he doesn’t quite know what love is, but this is very close to that. At least he has his friend and his family.

Macau thinks he’s fine until Chay shows up at his dorm room, the folded purple flower from weeks ago, in his hand, telling him that he needs to be honest with Macau too. Macau breaks down, sobbing. It isn’t right, it’s not supposed to be him. And he’s so scared. He’s so scared that Kim’s gonna be mad. That if Chay stays a minute longer, he’s going to lose his best friend and his cousin all at once. He cries so hard that he wants to throw up, but it’s Chay soothing him. It’s Chay, and then it’s Kim, and it’s them, and Macau doesn’t know how it’s supposed to be but for the first time in his life, he knows it’ll work out just fine.

Gonna end my semi-intensive campaign for the best kiss bracket here. I can see the writing on the wall: I've looked at the number of voters in each poll, and not only is this round decided, I can already tell who will win the semi-finals and the finals.

I was having a lot of fun campaigning and analyzing and updating my posts. But it stopped being fun. The one I don't want to win is going to win it all, and in the next round campaigning for OFC over PatPran is going to feel unnecessarily divisive.

I went into it as a fun way to talk about BL kisses, but my hater's heart has emerged a little to strongly, which isn't fun for me.

At some point I may write about my thoughts and feelings about Kinnporsche. Both the show itself, and also the fandom around it; which fascinates and baffles me, and sometimes annoys me, and is pushing me to face the fact that in some ways I can't help but be a contrarian. Seeing something get super popular that I have mixed feelings about, or think is only ok, usually pushes me to the other direction and dislike the thing and see its flaws.

In general I also tend to get tired even of shows I love if I'm overexposed to them. So I have filters even for things I really liked, like The Eclipse, Bad Buddy and Big Dragon because I was reaching saturation point and didn't want to stop liking them.

None of this is self-knowledge that's new to me; I've been thinking about it vaguely all along, but this poll is pushing it to the forefront. Even though I assumed from the beginning KP would win, my feelings about seeing it beating out other shows are stronger than expected.

And on an intellectual level, I am just so fascinated by why it is THE show out of all BL shows that has developed such an enormous fandom. My impression is that most fans of BL are fans of the genre as a whole, or at least multiple shows, but that there are large numbers KP fans who are fans of only that. (I don't know if that's accurate though. I've drafted a poll to try and get some of the demographics of that, though I suspect my reach isn't big enough to get a enough responses to get any real answers about it.)

Don't get me wrong, I was completely absorbed when I binged the first half of the series in late June. And also went a little crazy over vegaspete when I binged the second half after the whole show was out. It was the show that got me talking on tumblr, and in that way was the first show that made me part of a "fandom." So I can see why people get obsessed with it. Just not sure why there are so many more than for other good BL shows.

Is it because iQIYI did such heavy advertising? I actually heard of the show several months before I even heard of BL, and then watched it mainly because iQIYI kept reminding me about it. For me, it became a gateway to BL more generally, but perhaps there are a lot of fans who just stopped with that?

Is there also a large group of people who were watching BL casually but weren't particularly BL fans, and then watched KP and thought it better than anything other BL? I've seen scattered comments with those opinions, but not sure how broad-spread it is. (I suppose if I'm feeling very curious and very brave I could go into the comments and reviews on KP's MDL page, which might give me some idea of numbers.)

With how my ADHD manifests, I don't have the attention span to become devoted to one show at the exclusion of all others, and so I can't really understand the mindset of fans who do fandom like that. (For any show, be it Star Wars or Marvel or The Untamed.) But I guess there are many people who do participate in fandoms that way? And KP is one of the shows that many of that style of fan found?

Is it the mafia plot? (there have been other mafia plots.) Is it how glossy and expensive it all looked, and the truly excellent cinematography? Is it how high heat the sex scenes were? (Were they significantly higher heat than anything previous though? Could be.)

Is there something about Kinn and Porsche as a couple that is particularly compelling to people? (I don't personally think so, certainly not compared to other BL couples. For me their story kinda petered out once they got together. And I found Mile's acting serviceable, but not that compelling, but I do see that he has lots of fans so perhaps it's just me.)

If so, what is unique about them? Enemies to lovers, boss-employee, torn between duty and love—I guess that combo is somewhat unique? I can't think of other shows off the top of my head now at least.

Is it the darkness and danger and plottiness of the mafia story? I know that sort of thing tends to engender obsessive fandoms. Are there other shows that have that too? I can see why if that's your thing, you wouldn't be into more slice of life BL like Old Fashion Cupcake or Semantic Error, or the youthful high jinx of most HS or Uni set shows.

Some combination of all of that? Some luck of timing? Did the advertising have a significantly bigger reach than for any other BL? With KP being my entry point into BL, I'm not able to compare with what the fandom was like before it came out.

Anyway, not sure if this is coherent, and absolutely NOT trying to start discourse. But if you do have theories you feel like sharing about how KP ended up with the fandom it has, I'd love to hear them. Or do you think I'm wrong and its fandom actually isn't unique for BL?

I'm measuring "popularity" by the number of MDL users who list the show as watched. The show on MDL with the most watchers of everything is Goblin (aka Guardian: The Lonely and Great God) with 199,983.

The Untamed I would say has it's own fandom, overlapping with but distinct from BL fans. In some ways (other than heat levels) I can see it as a model of what might make KP so uniquely popular as well - complex plot, violent danger, and angst, and lovers kept apart by circumstance.

Most of the other shows on the list are popular Thai BL from three to four years ago, so it makes sense to me why they've accumulated lots of watchers. Where Your Eyes Linger, at number 6, surprised me, I don't hear much about it on tumblr these days and would have guessed it was much further down. KinnPorsche and Semantic Error are the newest shows on the list, coming out around the same time last year. But although I hear a lot of love for SE, I don't see it having an obsessive one-show fandom like KP does. I do see a lot of very devoted Bad Buddy fans, but again, most of them seem to also be general BL fans.

Addendum: (For the record, my assumption/prediction is that KP and PatPran will win their respective semifinals, and KP will win it all, by at least a 20 percentage point difference.)

but then kinn says to vegas that by doing this, it'd enable him to be the rightful head of the minor family again. that porsche cant do it. that its vegas' to have. that this is kinn humbling himself and saying to vegas that he in fact does need him and extending out an olive branch for vegas to accept. and even though vegas doesnt give a fuck about kinn and his status or position anymore, hearing kinn say this is him humbling himself in front of vegas and telling him he needs him .... it gives that rush to vegas, stroking his ego and pride. and also he has been thinking about the title of being the head again for some time now, with pete and macau. so vegaspete look at each other, and, well, they are each other's world, and they're right beside each other, always. if one steps forward, so does the other - thats an unspoken vow between them both.

so they agree.

until kinn tells them that pete will need to ..... ahem ..... go undercover and use his detective skills and tail a few big powerful people and stroke their pride and ego, since no one really knows pete and he's been away from the scene for a bit, he'll look like fresh innocent young blood, what with his round eyes and wide grin and boyish looks.

and vegas gets exactly what kinn is trying to allude to. "what, like you did with him when you sent him to do all that with me, huh? is that what you're suggesting?" and kinn mumbles under his breath, something about how he didn't list sex and falling in love being in the terms and conditions when he asked pete to tail vegas, that isnt really a mumble because everyone heard what he said.

and pete reaches out and begins stroking vegas' arm with his finger, his way of getting vegas to relax. they'll talk about this later on at night.

and when they do, pete tells vegas its strictly professional. that he knows vegas trusts him, and now's the time for him to put his words into action. and all vegas comes up with is "but what if-", "and if-" and "no one else has the right to touch you like that but me." and again, pete tells him that its strictly professional, that he'll come home to vegas and their bed every night.

and then. well. because pete is pete, and he can be a little menace, a piece of shit sometimes, he tells vegas its a bit like how he and porsche team up sometimes, how he once kissed porsche too, right? and how when vegas narrated all of this to him one night, he coined it as strictly professional, bc his dad ordered him to do it.

strictly professional, pete repeats again, with a smirk. and then he goes to have a shower and falls asleep, knowing that vegas can say Nothing in retaliation to that.

and pete knows vegas is jealous, and he likes that he is. its cute, endearing, it shows he cares, it shows that he's still as obsessed and as insane and as in love with pete as he is with vegas, as he is since their day one. it warms pete.

and so one day pete has to go on a mission to seduce to get some intel. and he's dressed extra fancy, vegas notices, and its not fucking fair. and vegas is extra handsy with pete this morning.

"i want you to only be thinking about me, okay? my hands on you and my mouth on you and me inside of you and how i fuck into you and how good i make you feel and how i make you lose it. just me." vegas begs pete.

cute, pete thinks. and if he could, he'd ask vegas to fuck him right now bc he's getting harder by the second, and vegas touching him everywhere so desperately and biting down on his neck to mark him up before he leaves isnt helping, and no one loosens and shakens pete's resolve like vegas.

but pete can turn on strictly professional like a pro. its why he was the ex-head bodyguard of the main family. and its why it takes everything within him to not give in and just kiss vegas when he steps away from him and to the door, and vegas looks like a kicked, wounded animal, in his black t shirt and checkered pyjama bottoms. and yet he still manages to look so sexy. and pete vows to himself that he's gonna make it up to vegas tonight, no matter how much he is enjoying seeing this jealous side of vegas that he's never really gotten to witness before.

and all day, vegas cant focus. he's snapping at macau, slamming the doors, can't focus on any damn thing. working out doesnt help, a cold shower doesnt help, jerking himself off doesnt help, grabbing pete's clothes and inhaling his scent doesnt help. he doesnt wanna eat and everything on tv is shit, and he's mentally throwing darts on kinn's face. he just wants pete. and he cant even contact him bc pete wont answer bc "strictly fucking professional". and vegas is trying not to think of worse case scenarios here, but he KNOWS how the underground scene works. how people use touch to intimidate and seduction to weaken and sex to negotiate. he's done this all himself. had this all happen to him. and he cant.

he cant stand thinking about anyone tainting pete like that. cant stand thinking about anyone else's hands that arent his touching pete and feeling pete and making pete breathless and getting pete moaning and whining out loud and fucking him and-

and the worse part, the part that hurts, is what if pete enjoys it. what if pete likes it. what if they treat pete in a way pete likes it. what if .....

and the seconds drag, the minutes drag, the hours drag. and its torture and vegas is losing his mind in these 4 walls of his bedroom, where he's heard pete scream his name in pleasure, where they've made love all night and kissed and kissed and kissed until sunrise. and. right there. vegas realises how pete must have felt when he saw vegas and porsche together near the temple that time, porsche leaning all over his back as vegas rode them both away on his bike, and even though vegas and pete knew then and know now that there's nothing going on there, it must have hurt.

and vegas looks at the clock on the wall and its fucking 10pm and pete is still not back. and vegas' hands are itching and shaking and he wants to rip his hair out and he doesnt know what to do bc pete should be back by now and he isnt. and then vegas' mind flips through the catalogue of every scenario possible: kidnap, drink being spiked, torture, hotel rooms, bedrooms, hospitals, murder, sex sex sex ..........

and then he hears the bedroom door creak open and its pete. and vegas' eyes immediately scan his entire body as pete closes the distance between them to check for any sign. and sign whatsoever.

and he looks fine. so far anyway. but then vegas can smell cologne. and its strong. and it isnt the cologne that he or pete use.

"he touched you, didnt he?"

"and all i thought about was your hands all over me this morning and how good they felt. how i knew you'd be waiting for me like this. tell me, have you even ate anything today?"

"i've no appetite for anything when you're not around."

"and i'm here now, aren't i? like i promised."

"what did he do to you?" and there's a hint of danger, a quiet rage, something stern, bubbling and simmering that pete can hear in vegas' voice. a threat to kill. he can smell it.

"he touched me. i said no to kissing. he saw the mark you left on my neck this morning-"

"good."

"-and called me a whore-"

"motherfucker."

"- and said he was going to show me what i'm missing out on ...", pete says as he wraps his arms around vegas' waist and pulls his body close, flush, against his. "yet all i was missing was you. this. us."

"did you get anything out of him?" vegas asks, and now his voice holds less of the smell of threat, more of intrigue.

"mmm, of course! i was sent to do a job, after all. i don't mix business with pleasure." pete replies, smiling, as he feels vegas' fingers make their way around his throat, wrapping around his neck.

"so what do you mix pleasure with then, baby boy?" vegas asks, all teeth as he smiles back, and his hands tighten around pete's neck.

"pain." pete barely gets out, just above a hoarse whisper, eyes a little shiny, a little glassy.

and vegas' eyes take in all of pete's face, the way he's breathing so ragged right now, and he can smell the lust and desire off of him, molecules of it vibrating and bouncing and seeping into the air. its like a hot summer night where the heat makes your restless and there's no breeze and its relentless.

"and what do you want, pete? pleasure or pain?"

"i just want you, vegas."

"not gonna whore around for anybody else?" vegas asks, leaving open mouthed kisses all across pete's cheek, his breath tanatalising on pete's ear.

"you can't bear the thought of it. look at the state of you, i can smell the jealousy." pete replies, biting down on vegas' shoulder, his fingers finding their way under his tshirt, stroking his stomach.

and vegas grabs a fistul of pete's hair and yanks his head back to look up at him. "do you blame me? when it's your fault? have you seen what you're wearing? anyone would want a piece of you."

and pete replies similarly, grabbing a fistful of vegas' tshirt and yanking him closer to his own chest. "go on, then. have all of me."

and as vegas bites down on pete's mouth and draws blood, and kisses his way into his mouth, as he tears into pete's clothes, as he makes himself bare, as his nails graze over pete's skin, leaving a trail of red and white, as he loves him down and works him open and pushes into him deeper and deeper and deeper, as he hears his name being chanted in pete's voice echo through the room, vegas does.

Kim & Chay - Emotional Turmoil

The perks of having a layered show, we were presented with the spectrum of events with the complexity of the characters, which we can't easily compartmentalize. Some parts might be appealing to some, while different parts more to others. In episode 11, I found my attention snatched by Kim-Chay's emerging conflict amidst the heavy focus on Vegas-Pete arcs and Kinn-Porsche's post-family-approval honeymoon phase. The episode signified peak emotional turmoil for both Kim and Chay, each for different reasons, with some intersecting points yet to be revealed.

After the "rejection" scene, I first couldn't fully grasp how I actually felt about these two boys. On automatic response, though, my heart breaks for both of them. This excellent meta post by @luckydragon10 about Kim and isolation very well explained my thoughts on Kim and why he behaved and reacted the way he did. After reading the post, I was motivated to dive more into my thoughts about Kim-Chay.

Fair warning: this will mostly based on my perspective and interpretation of their scenes and acting. While I don't intend to draw on the theory of MBTI, I need to say up front that I will use a 'feeler' spectrum hat in trying to see things from both Kim's and Chay's positions. They might not conform to any projection on how these characters should or should not be presented in the show.

Chay's Breakdown

Let's start with Chay. The boy definitely has too much on his plate to digest. First, being kidnapped when seconds ago he just happily prepared a meal for Kim at home after snuggling all night (was it really, or was it a short nap only?). Second, right after being saved (not knowing it's by Kim himself), he finally learned about his brother's involvement in a mafia world related to his kidnapping. Third, with a sudden move into the Theerapanyakul estate, he needs to also enter the mafia family himself. Fourth, the shock from learning about Kim being the youngest of the Theerapanyakul brothers. Fifth (I'm speculating on this one), the realization of the motives behind Kim's guitar tutoring now seems to be not as genuine as Chay would like. And sixth, that straightforward "Have you ever loved me?" "I'm sorry."

When I first saw Chay standing at the edge of the swimming pool, waiting for Porsche, my heart sunk a little. This was Chay's first appearance in the episode, and I think we all can see the stark difference in Chay's facial expression from the previous episodes. The usual cheerfulness and awkward innocence were wiped off.

I appreciate the dialogue between him and Porsche addressing Porsche's decision to take the bodyguard job first. I noticed a slight tension between them, and while I personally did not take Porsche reassurance really well, Chay definitely did or at least tried hard to. I also love seeing Porsche ask Chay for permission to take care of both him and Kinn and that he can't leave anyone behind. And Chay, being usually straightforward with his feeling and reaction, answered with a hug and an "I miss you, brother" instead of a yes/no. Their hug at the end supposedly offered warmth, but the missing smile from Chay made my heart sink a little deeper. Well, okay, he slightly smiled but didn't quite reach the eyes as one during their hug in episode 1.

Now jump into Kim's place, where Chay confronted him about everything. Okay, I was a mess here. So let's cut things to where Kim left the crying Chay behind: the boy is heartbroken. Chay sure knows what does it means to answer a yes/no question with anything but a yes or no, with letting go a hand instead of giving a hug. But who really knows what's inside Kim's fortress (as many people called it).

That's it. And do I not want to smack Kim with Tankhun's tray? Out of the question. But it can wait. No picture of crying Chay here, I'm not sorry.

Kim's Back Down

Now we look into Kim. The meta post I mentioned at the beginning perfectly outlined the reasons behind Kim's actions toward Chay, to all of which I couldn't agree more. So I just wanted to add my personal take on him.

First, out of all the six main characters of KP, I must say Kim is the hardest to read. With their minimal screen-time, I must say it's easier to read Chay. But maybe this' factoring to how Chay is presented: expressive, honest, and straightforward. Most of the time, Kim was presented with cool/cold, nonchalance mannerism which always ended up in me asking, "what the hell is this guy thinking?" But then we had these two opposite sides of him: the softest and the (not so) grimmest. Both related to Chay: when Chay hugged him and when Chay was kidnapped. This might not be enough to signify Chay's importance to Kim, but I'd take all of that.

Second, now the reason why he 'i'm sorry'-ed Chay, I'm speculating it has something to do with the investigation that he's been conducting. Before the swimming pool scene between Porsche and Chay, we were shown that Kim had a hand in the case of the Kittisawasd parents' accident. So it might trigger him to finally cut things off with Chay, something he should've done earlier. But of course, he couldn't resist Chay. If my assumption is correct, he's already felt guilty for letting himself get involved too far with Chay. Tutoring and approaching him while digging for information about Porsche already felt bad enough. He couldn't imagine what staying in whatever he had with Chay while investigating the possible connection between Chay's parent's death and his own father would do any good.

Third, this is where I wanted to come back to the discussion of Kim and isolation. So far, the show only told about Kim's physical distance from the main family but never told us why he chose be away. Did something bad happen to him before, just like Tankhun's kidnapping? Not that the show had mentioned. Did he catch something off about his father or the rivalry between the main and minor families early on? And if so, how? This, I could see as the possible reason for him to isolate himself from his own family. Maybe to give him more 'space' and freedom to investigate everything? Like Tankhun said, Kim's nosy. He might be away from the family but still care enough about them in his own way. I would like to believe so.

As someone within a rather extreme introversion spectrum, I can say that being too used to (self) isolation, once confronted with anything related to feelings, it is possible to automatically shut yourself away from the people you need to confront the feelings with. You've unconsciously trained yourselves to avoid making deeper connections with people, and as a result, you would develop constant reluctance and fear of being in a close relationship. You would end up rejecting or pushing people away despite longing for the connection, and longing for the person themselves. I could sense the awkwardness and tension behind Kim's cold, nonchalance front that he put on while backing down from Chay implied all of these. Or maybe it's just me. I've prepared to be wrong.

So, will there be any reconciliation? At this point, I'm not so sure. Chay needs his time to process his acceptance of having his full plate. Confronting Kim again soon might have a reverse effect on this process. As for Kim, I couldn't imagine him not coming back to his family and taking the matters involving his family and the Kittisawasd's incident into his own hands than fully entrusting the case to his brother(s). Dealing with whatever (feelings) he has for Chay right now will only distract him more than support his mission.

Yes, I wanted Kim to apologize to Chay. Yes, I wanted Chay to not too easily forgive Kim. Yes, I wanted the older brothers to give Kim a hard time for hurting Chay, and I wanted them to defend Chay with all their might. But I don't think that's how their dynamics work. There are 'works' to be done in their respective space before any apology and forgiveness could meet. And I will stop here.

KP consistently provides us with layered and complex characters, including Kim and Chay. Trying to empathize with each of them within their given bubble gave me a sense of understanding of why they behaved or reacted in certain ways. This is not to justify any wrongdoings from real-life perspectives, no matter how lightly it seems. It's more to understand how these imperfect characters within this fictional boundary will be played back into the show's central themes: a story of romance and crime in a mafia setting. And please remember (not to spoil any fun, but it's proven through the episodes): plot twists do happen.

Kim and Chay might be the least favorite pairing at this point, but I can't help letting these pent-up feels out of my chest. Of course, I had no intention to go this long, but now they were all out, I am relieved. For my possible incoherence, please do let me know if there're somethings that I might miss to pick up from the dynamics of this pairing.

I'm gonna say it: Kinn and Porsche after episode seven were just BORING and I could not connect with their cheesiness at all.

But Vegas and Pete, I have been into them since the very beginning when they didn't even have any story to start, and now I'm absolutely addicted to them. (And I am not a novel reader.) A reason for this, I feel is also because the actors for Vegas and Pete are just exceptional; and apart from Gun Attaphan, I don't think I have seen such good acting from Thai actors in a long time. I am so heavily invested in Vegas and Pete, that I can't even properly express it in words.

As for Kinn and Porsche, I really don't get anything from them other than them having sex almost every episode. Like nothing else.

(Sorry for using your ask box for venting, but I feel so frustrated at Kinn and Porsche's entire arc and then getting only bits and crumbs of the actual interesting, intense, dark, heartbreaking, and compelling story of Vegas and Pete. It just feels unfair).

Your feelings are valid but I don't know how you survived 10 episodes before Vegas coughed in Pete's direction. I can understand the allure of the incredibly dark couple. I love vegaspete, but I don't think it's fair to say kinnporsche don’t have chemistry, after ep7.

People liked Vegaspete before there was anything going on between them. There were no hints. No tells on the show that made it clear we were headed in that direction. Which means that all the love for that couple was based off of buzz from OUTSIDE the show (interviews, spoilers, bts).

Which means that people made up their mind about the couple BEFORE the couple delivered.

Is it just me?

Did we forget ep4? Ep5? Ep6? Ep7? No chemistry there?

How about ep8? Ep11? Is the issue the happiness? Are we saying that if vegaspete get together and get happy, we will all jump ship? Because that's all I can see. They were fine until they found happiness? Is that it?

I understand that there is frustration with this couple, but to that, I have two things to say:

1. You wouldn't have vegaspete if kinnporsche hadn't kept the chemistry flowing. How many bls are people dropping left, right and centre because they can't measure up to what MileApo have been serving weekly?

2. Your ship is enjoying the benefits of scarcity. The relationship arcs of both couples have been almost exactly the same. It's so easy to put both couples side by side and compare them. Because it's the same story. So calling kinnporsche boring for being ahead in the story just means that if vegaspete is given happiness and more screentime, there is a likely chance that fans will abandon them too.

Because people seem to have forgotten the torment that Porsche went through. Having sex, waking up with regret, trying to be strong, crying in a bathroom, covered in scars????? Does that sound familiar? Yep, because it happened to Pete AND Porsche.

If anyone has a problem with kinnporsche, now, and is praying for more screentime for vegaspete, bear in mind that if you get it, you will get the same overexposure kinnporsche is suffering from, right now. As well as the mandatory happy ending that will inevitably make them boring... to you.

This show has MANY PLOTHOLES AND PROBLEMS, but to me, the chemistry of the lead couple is not one of them. Because without kinnporsche, vegaspete wouldn't be the hit that it is today.

Hi there! Firstly, thank you so much for reaching out to me. I love talking about KP in general - VP and Pete more specifically - so your message was very welcome. Now, Pete and Porsche's relationship is such a fascinating thing, I could really talk for hours about it. On the surface level, they seem close but upon further inspection, it turns out that - as @therealblessedaffliction mentioned - Porsche is closer to Vegas of all people than to Pete. There are reasons for this of course. Pete is part of the main family, the family that basically forced Porsche into working for them. He's loyal to Kinn, a person Porsche was at first wary of/mad at. He doesn't believe Pete when he tells him he's the most normal person in the house and he generally ignores his advice until the incident with the minor family happens, when Pete tells him about how Kinn saved his life and to basically get his head out of his ass. They have their cute moments throughout the show but even in those, it's all surface level; Porsche doesn't trust Pete with the information of kissing Kinn or of what Kinn did to him. He doesn't trust him with the information of being in a relationship with Kinn. He doesn't think twice about him when he's rescued by Kinn and the gang in ep 10 and when Kinn is worried about Pete due to his odd behaviour, Porsche doesn't even consider the possibility of sth being off, even though he should have. Cue the Hum Bar scene, in which Porsche just brings Pete along to give to Vegas as a bargaining chip without (evident) remorse and that solidifies the belief I have that Pete and Porsche are colleague buddies, not actual friends. They work well together, they have good platonic chemistry, they totally understand each other, even if they don't show it, but they aren't friends. (Porsche is oblivious to this, just as he's oblivious to the fact that punching the guy who caused his supposed friend physical and psychological harm, as well as threatening him to not do it again, means jack shit when he's the one giving Vegas the chance to hurt Pete once more) That brings me to Pete who, god bless his kind soul, decided to risk his life for Porsche when it wasn't even that necessary? One thing that had confused me about ep 10 and Kinn's plan is that he said he needed the proof of Tawan and Vegas cooperating but in the end it was kind of pointless? Maybe he needed the proof to give it to their partners or sth but whatever the case, it doesn't matter. What matters is that Pete embarked on a mission with high probabilities of failure (and death) because he trusted Porsche and he wanted to help him. We're talking about a man that gave his grandma's food to a stranger the first time he saw him, a man who tried to push back against Tankhun to spare Porsche of his humiliating punishment, a man that risked angering his scary boss by giving him advice to help fix their relationship. What I'm trying to say is, Pete is empathetic af and for those he deems worthy being a sacrifice for, he'll gladly do it. Porsche was one of them.

Btw, I totally believe Porsche thinks him and Pete are friends. His attitude towards him is friendly, he's teasing him and their conversations are those you have with friends, not someone you're not that familiar with. He calls him everyday in the 1 month we never saw to ask how Vegas is doing, encouraging Pete that he'll get better. I just don't think Pete believes the same. Porsche has shown that he's oblivious about many things in the series and this fact, I believe, is one of them. I hope my answer satisfied you, I'm just rambling at this point and I repeated myself a couple of times. They're so fascinating though so my enthusiasm got the better of me haha. P.S. It would have been cool if Pete and Porsche had actually kissed in episode 4 but that would kind of go against Pete's philosophy of "Kissing is for people that we like only" and it would go against the headcanon I have that Pete doesn't like being touched/isn't intimate with anyone before Vegas (sth I'll write meta about soon :3)

Episode 3 Kinn

Welcome to my thoughts on the development we see in Kinn during ep3 because pre-kiss Kinn is one of my favorite things.

Personally, I think it's obvious at this point that Kinn is physically attracted to Porsche. There were some subtle hints about it in episode 2, like him checking the booty out or checking Porsche in the suit out.

In episode 2 Kinn has probably convinced himself that his attraction to Porsche is purely physical and is thanking heavens when Tankhun takes him away, because he's afraid that the attraction would become emotional.

Kinn's logical reasoning probably was on FIRE with all the reasons against liking Porsche. One, he's inobedient and constantly causes chaos. Two, he's his employee. Three, Kinn's trust issues are pointing him in the direction of prioritizing business and his family over his love life.

Now what Kinn didn't catch up with yet was his emotional side. He might not be 100% aware of it, but he also let Porsche go to Tankhun to protect him, because he's managed to nearly get himself killed by the minor family.

Now when Porsche is with Tankhun, he continues to be a nuisance. But Kinn's irritation at him for showing Tankhun porn turns into fascination at him for taking Tankhun out of the compound after years.

At this point, Porsche is a force drawing Kinn in. He just can't escape him.

What ultimately makes Kinn aware that he wants to protect Porsche is when he moves him out of the bullet's way. It's the first action he does out of pure fear for Porsche's life that doesn't hurt Porsche.

After this event, I feel like Kinn knows there's something there, but is still afraid of it and negating it.

This brings me to my final point and that is that Kinn wasn't completely sober when he kissed Porsche. He clearly wasn't as drunk as Porsche, but I don't think he would get the true courage to do it without alcohol in his system.

For Kinn that was in the moment decision, driven by his confused feelings, hope and a genuine conversation about his thoughts and feelings which he probably didn't let himself have for years.

I loved Kinn's development in episode 3 and I just wish episode 4 didn't end the way it did. I'm aware what kind of show it was and I'm not here to moralize when we all know what happend was wrong and has no excuse. I'm just here to say that given episode 3 Kinn, I would love to see them have a different beginning.

Let's try and unravel this

Why fake his death? To force the minor family into acting. Korn knows there will be losses but doesn't care. If he pushes Kan into attacking then he has the perfect excuse to reveal that Namphueng is still alive in front of everyone and most importantly control the narrative. Then he can kill Kan, the traitor, before he is contradicted. Keep everyone in a state of emotional imbalance so they believe what you're saying. Kill anyone that might dispute it.

This THIS is the mystery for season 2. What was Kan about to reveal that Korn couldn't allow Kinn and Porsche to know? I have lots of speculations.

Then Korn has dealt with the traitor and shows mercy to his son as proof that all of this has been for the sake of his family: his foster sister, his sons, his nephews.

There's no doubting that removing Vegas and making Porsche the head of the minor family was Korn setting up his chessboard how he wanted from the beginning. It was risky after Kan told his version of events but Porsche's memories are so scrambled, like Thee said it's easy to convince him he saw something different to what he did. We see throughout the episode different versions of the memory/flashback, but history is written by the victor.

("It's your fault for knowing too much" is implied to be the real memory, which only appears in the version where Korn is the shooter. Because that version was Kan telling the story it's unclear how much Porsche can really put this together.)

Korn now holds all the cards against Porsche. He has his mother, he no doubt knows where Chay is, he has Kinn's loyalty and he's the only one alive apart from Namphueng who can give him answers. Porsche has no choice but to accept. And while I don't want to speculate too much (lol)

Porsche still does not define himself as a mafia leader or as loyal to either family. I think Porsche knows he's being manipulated. He broke away from the main family once to find answers, but he can't risk doing it again when Korn holds so much against him. Korn has what he wants: a united family ALL under his control but I think he's underestimated Porsche. He won't stop looking for answers.

Whatever Korn's secrets, Namphueng also knows. She is the lynchpin in all this that could send Korn tumbling.

Oh and as a bonus:

What did Korn and Kim talk about last episode.

I think Korn told him he was going to fake his death, and that's what this look between him and Chan means. Our Kimothy is notoriously hard to read, but I think he feels exceptionally guilty about putting his brothers through this grief. Why tell Kim his plan? Again, control the narrative. Kim was getting too close to something and whatever Korn said to him in this conversation either convinced him or threatened him back on side.

KPTS Fic Trope: Kim should grovel / Semi-deep dive commentary of the breakup scene

I've seen a number of fans complaining about this trope, so I wanted to talk about it. XD Before that though, I will admit that I myself don't fully understand this trope--or rather, I'm not really sure what this trope fully entails? Because ngl, it sometimes also feels like readers/writers don't actually mind this trope, just only up to a certain extent.

And for anyone curious, I'm firmly on the camp that KimChay should yell/fight out their problems in the most unhinged manner possible like feral beans with lots of sexual tension to muck through AND with no one else involved cuz for the majority of the show, they were off in their own little world anyway~

But I may be on the minority in that, lol So, I digress.

From what I've gathered of this trope though, I'm assuming it's basically: -Kim begging Chay to talk to him/forgive him/ give him a second chance -Kim's own brothers takes Chay's side -VegasPete is somehow in Chay's affections and gets one up over Kim? -Basically no one is on Kim's side, lol

Depending on the execution of the fic, all or some of these points may be featured in the story in order to get these two lovebirds back together.

And honestly? I think the reason why this trope is so popular but also has its share of detractors is because people are looking for the payback or shall I say, "equivalent exchange" of this scene in particular:

It's arguably their most heartbreaking moment in the series, and I will admit, for some people who've had a bad breakup or two in their lives, it may hit a little too close to home, yknow?

And see, I've brought up the opinion before and will reiterate again that what the audience understands about KimChay's circumstances IS NOT what Chay understands as the character that makes up one half of this semi-canon ship.

And based on your understanding of this (as well as your preference, ofc) lies the difference as to whether you like/hate/feel neutral about this trope.

Sure, we can say that Kim did nothing physically to hurt Chay. We can say that Kim did what he had to do in order to keep Chay safe and not draw him into the dangerous world of the mafia, that he was looking out for Chay's best interests. There's just enough of Kim acting like a simp for Chay in the show to get this point across.

But be that as it may, Chay is not the audience. He's not a mind reader, especially not towards someone like Kim who's already closed off and hard to understand to begin with. Lol

And Chay not being able to read Kim's mind or intentions is not a failing on his part as a character; on the contrary, it's what makes him more human and sympathetic to the audience. There's a difference between emotional intelligence and having confidence in another person's motivations. In which case, I think herein lies the other distinction, if you, as the audience, are either willing to give Chay too much credit, too little credit, or just enough to get the ball rolling.

I think what tends to be forgotten about Chay's character at times is that for all his bravery, boldness, and intelligence (which deserves all the praise in the world, because holy moly, if only I had half his guts, I would get a lot more shit done), Chay is also someone who deeply respects people's boundaries. He's a noble character in that way, and why I think in particular Porsche did such a wonderful job raising him.

And we've seen this a number of times, from their very first meeting. He was brave for asking Kim to be his teacher, but didn't push to persuade him otherwise when Kim couldn't say yes. He was bold in tracking where Kim lives to serenade to him, but knew when he had to back off. And even when he confessed to Kim, there was no expectation of his affections being returned, only that he had wanted to show his gratitude to Kim for letting him do his best, and hoping perhaps that the time they spent together would always remain special to Kim.

In this regard, Chay remains loyal to himself and his steadfast nature without ever pushing for more than what Kim could give. But what made the breakup scene painful I think is not just because Kim made Chay believe that he had never loved him, but also because Kim muddled Chay's understanding of the boundaries between them. I would maybe even go so far as to say that what Kim did to Chay was basically a form of gaslighting.

And in muddling that crucial understanding between them, the full scale of the implications in regards to what Chay must have felt in that moment, in my opinion, cannot be overstated:

-the abject humiliation of having believed that someone had returned your feelings, only for it to be implied otherwise by said someone, no matter what Kim's meaning was with his "I'm sorry" LOL -the doubt and lack of confidence in yourself due to misunderstanding someone, without even knowing it -the fear of having shared so much of yourself, when the other person may not even have wanted nor cared for what you had to share in the first place -the loneliness that comes after having experienced all of these emotions, particularly for Chay who was already feeling left behind by his own brother

It's not a surprise tbh, why Chay chose to pull away from not only Kim after this scene, but also from Porsche, at least on an emotional level. Negative emotions like these tend to spill over to the perception of other relationships in one's life; it's hardly ever only contained to the relationship they originated from.

All of these things are painful human experiences, not just something that fictional characters go through, yknow?

And this is why I think this trope is so popular with the KimChay fic writers to begin with. I imagine that those who have written reconciliation fics that feature this trope are highly sympathetic to Chay's plight due to their own lived experiences, and why, while I myself am not necessarily a fan of it, also choose not to judge it.

It's basically wanting to find that sort of satisfaction in fiction that otherwise isn't always found in reality, using said points in the trope.

Ultimately, Kim is the one who muddled that important understanding between himself and Chay. This being the case, Kim has to be the one to untangle them now, imperatively so for some writers, to the point it's at the cost of losing one's dignity (the begging part) and standing alone (his own brothers don't have his back).

KINN THEERAPANYAKUL, MY FAVORITE CHARACTER.

(Characther analysis or the character development of Kinn)

Kinn is one of the most overhated, unappracieted, understimated and misunderstood character of KinnPorsche but he’s my favorite character, I’m a proud Kinn defender and apologist so I felt the need to write this long post about this incredible character.

In the first episode Kinn is immediately presented as the ruthless mafia boss who killed a person firing a bullet into his head without thinking twice, who killed the men of the Italian boss and send them to him as ‘’gifts’’ and who was ready to kill Porsche if he hadn’t accepted to be his bodyguard. He seemed superb, he was cold and felt like he had power over other’s people life infact the first thing he said to Porsche when he started to work for him was ‘’Don’t forget that your life is mine’’.

In the second and in the third episodes we discover something else about Kinn, that he’s a caring person. He cares about his big brother a lot because when Porsche kills his carpes he tries to calm him by saying he will buy other fishes but he also cares about his bodyguards, in particular about Porsche, yes he often gets mad at him because he’s a troublemaker but he also saves him from the minor family, he does it in a brutal way but he does it because he’s so fascinated by him, by this man who is so different from him, so free, so carefree. He probably doesn’t understand why but he feels the need to protect him and he does it, in the third episode he saves him from the bullett, he also takes care of his wound. But in this episode we also discover another thing, he’s struggling, he feels trapped in a life he doesn’t want, he’s obliged to live this life, to kill people, to be ruthless but we also get to see a softer side of him… he feels so connected to Porsche and he’s so tender now with him so he kisses him and allows himself to feel something he hasn’t felt for a long time since he hasn’t kissed anyone in a long time.

At the beginning of the fourth episode we see a conflicted Kinn, he thinks that what he did ruined everything with Porsche so he talks to him immediately because he doesn’t want problems with him, he’s direct and I like this characteristic so much. In this episode we also see that he has developed strong feelings for Porsche and there’s no way back, he shows another side of him, he let everyone see how he’s when he starts to fall in love but unfortunately he does a mistake… even though he tries to control himself he has sex with Porsche who is drugged, willing, but still drugged.

We see, in ep 5, how this mistake torments him, he asks Porsche if he’s okay, he wants him to rest but he’s forced by his father to punish him… he doesn’t want to do it but he has to because he needs to remember something he was probably forgetting, he’s the mafia heir, there’s no room for weakness or love and even though he’s devastated and hurt just as Porsche is he has to do what he has to do and we see once again the cold Kinn that is even colder than episode 1 but he melts as soon as Pete tells him that Porsche has gone back home and when he goes to him he also follows Pete’s advise and tries to patient and calm with him because even if it doesn't seem like it he do cares about him, a lot.

In the ep 6 we finally see the real Kinn, the one that made me and Porsche fall in love with him. When he doesn’t have to follow the rules, when he’s not the Mafia heir, when he’s free…He smiles, he shows his inner child, he wants to know more about Porsche, he talks about his dream and we see once again how the weight of being a Mafia boss consumes him, exhausts him. We also see that he’s not heartless like he may seem on the contrary he has a big heart and he shows it when he apologize to Porsche, he beg him to forgive him, he set him free because he wants to see him happy and lastly he took a bullet for him.

In ep 7 and 8 we see the lover Kinn and we learn that despite everything he went trough he never lost his ability to love. In ep 7 we see the insicure,  jealous lover, vulnerable lover that cries after their moment of intimacy because of all the stress and the emotions. He’s so scared of losing Porsche that he doubts him but infact he never really doubts him because despite his trust issues he actually always trust Porsche, the one he doesn’t trust is Vegas. In ep 8 we see his sweet, loving, caring side, he’s a devoted lover that is ready to do anything for the one he loves.

After ep 9 everyone really hated Kinn for locking up Porsche but I was so sure he loved and trusted him, he had a plan and infact he showed that he was a smart, cunning boss and he just wanted to protect the man he loved.

In the episodes 10, 11, 13 and 14 we also can see that he’s an amazing boss that deeply cares about his people. In particular in ep 10, he’s destoyed by Big’s death, he starts smoking and drinks more and he feels so guilty for what happened to him. Also in ep 11 when Pete (Vegas) sends the messages about the vacation, he’s sceptical and so worried about him and when in ep 13 he return he’s so relieved and happy. Lastly in ep 14 when Pol is shot he protect him from other bullets and he does the same with Pete and then when he resigns, he looks so sad and broken because he’s losing the man he trusts the most.

Above all in the 11, 12, 13 and 14 episodes he showed how much he has changed, grown, he has became a better person, he demostrated to be the best boyfriend. Kinn went from being cold, from not trusting anyone, from not showing his emotions to be one of the most caring, sweet, kind, honest and loving person and character. He has apologized over and over again for his mistakes, went from saying that Porsche’s life was his to say that his life meant the world for him, from sleeping with a gun to sleeping peacely entrusting his life and heart to Porsche. I will always love Kinn, this profound, beautiful, amazing character.

And I will always be thankful to Mile for portraying him in the best way 💓.

this is very random but do you know if we know what happened with tawan in the beginning? was he actually in love with kinn, betrayed kinn later and got shot and then vegas got to him, or was he always working with vegas and only pretended to be kinn's boyfriend to "betray" him, knowing that it would ruin kinn's life in some ways? the part where big suspected him the first time makes me feel like something was off right away?

hmmm, there's really not a whole lot to go off in the show! In ep8, Kinn tells Porsche that Tawan had never loved him and was always only using him - but that's only Kinn's perspective and might not actually be true from Tawan's point of view. Kinn is obviously incredibly hurt, as well as furious at Tawan's betrayal, and we know it gave him incredibly long-lasting trust issues. So it makes sense that he would see it that way even if it wasn't strictly true.

Maybe Tawan did love Kinn at first, but he was eventually seduced by money or power or Vegas. Maybe he hadn't always been planning on betraying Kinn, but he hadn't really loved him either; maybe he'd seen Kinn as a way into a life of power and luxury, and then the betrayal came later. Maybe when he met Kinn he was already working with the minor family or other mafia families and the whole relationship was a ruse.

I also don't think it's ever mentioned in the show whether Tawan was involved with Vegas or the minor family prior to Kinn shooting him. In the same conversation in ep8, Kinn tells Porsche it was the Italians that Tawan was selling his information to (which he could have been doing either with or without minor family involvement), but doesn't mention the minor family at all.

So if Tawan was working with the minor family during his relationship with Kinn, I doubt Kinn was aware of it. Considering what happened in the previous episode (ep7, with Kinn insisting that Porsche shouldn't trust the minor family, and then Vegas kissing Porsche etc), I think if Kinn knew, or even suspected, that Tawan had been involved with Vegas during their relationship then he would have mentioned it to Porsche here, to reiterate the whole "don't trust Vegas" thing.

But regardless of how much Kinn was aware of - maybe Tawan was working with Vegas to sell information to the Italians. Maybe he was working directly with the Italians but also, separately, sleeping with Vegas. Maybe he had no involvement with the minor family until after Kinn shot him. We don't know. We only really know that by the time we get to the warehouse in ep10, Tawan seems to be genuinely in love with Vegas, and that Vegas had put a lot of time and effort into making that happen.

In the novels, Tawan had been cheating on Kinn with Vegas during their initial relationship. But the show deviates quite a lot from novel-canon, especially in relation to Tawan/Vegas/the traitor situation (Big is the mole in the books, Ken doesn't exist, and Tawan has a brother who is behind Chay's kidnapping) - so that doesn't necessarily mean that's what happened in show-canon.

Basically, it's all just theories and headcanons!

Personally, my headcanon is: Tawan did like Kinn to begin with. I imagine he was also a social climber, and that was definitely part of what drew him to Kinn - but he did genuinely care for Kinn, at least at first. Vegas was young, and had only recently worked out how to utilise the power that his charisma and good looks gave him, and he was angry and resentful and committed to ruining his cousin's life. So he slowly seduced Tawan, and Tawan fell for him, and Vegas convinced him that taking Kinn down was the only way they could be together - so Tawan started bringing information to Vegas and the Italians. Big had always been jealous of Tawan, and so was always extra critical of him - which is what made him notice that Tawan was acting suspiciously and start to look into it, and eventually bring his suspicions to Kinn. I imagine that at this point, Vegas was also already involved with Ken - and that was how Vegas knew how and where to find Tawan after Kinn shot him. I think Vegas' plans with Tawan in the show were an extension of plans he'd had since Kinn and Tawan had been together.

But that's entirely just my own speculation! There's so much we don't know and so much potential for theorising, so pls tell me what you think 👀
