Grownup!Damian pulls up on the red carpet on a fucking motorcycle, decked out in leather, pulls his helmet off like he's in fucking slow-mo, shoves his hair back out of his face with one hand, and smirks as his piercings glitter under all the flashing camera lights.

Everyone in a five-mile radius swoons. (Except his siblings, who sigh, gag, or just cover their faces. Why is he like this? Why does he always do this?)

stupid and sad about reverse robins,

no one's probably going to understand what the hell is going on here (and forgive me for bad writing) but

damian as jason's older brother in reverse Robins is everything to me

dami hiding brotherly bullying behind training lmao

but also protecting jay as much as he can and prepare for everything

and giving difficult homework, gifting a weapon, being proud, being useful, being good for someone, for once in his life

and spending time with him, and sensing that warm unfamiliar feeling-------------------------------------------------

and going to bruce to say that he's quitting being Nightwing , because he can't live in peace with himself knowing that jason died in his suit, with his toy (because Shrike persona always has been just a toy, he understands it now, humiliated by fate), with his encouragement, with his "You are a good Shrike, Jason, it would be just a waste of talent and training to let you quit now because of some childish insecurities" and how he never should have let jason be Shrike in the first place.

and bruce who is actually guilty because, in the end, jason WANTED to stop being Shrike and create a new hero identity, new name, new suit, because "Gotham doesn't need Shrike anymore". He wanted but bruce freaked out and didn't want to let jason go and asked him to wait a little longer before becoming Bluejay.

and well, Joker doesn't hate Shrikes. not like Robins. they are the part of mistery, Bat's little carnivorous birds, but he does hate jay's Shrike because this one made Batman different, this one made him actually laugh, this one is not like others.

it was just a poor timing, really

but bruce just knows that if only he agreed to jason's plans it wouldn't happen. so he can't. he can't let damian blame himself alone. he knows for sure he can't be Batman, too. not after this.

damian didn't know about jay's plans (because he didn't listen the reasons behind jason's words when jay first tried to tell him why), didn't know bruce's role in this. he does, now, when bruce shows his own mind in response, shows his own crime in response. when he practically begs damian to blame him, to yell at him. like damian did not so long ago.

and they look at each other and just know that nothing they can say to each other is going to erase that guilt, because it's not just a feeling, they ARE guilty.

but damian knows jason wouldn't want for bruce to stop being Batman. and bruce knows jason wouldn't want for dami to stop being Nightwing. wouldn't want for them to stop helping people that way. and they both know they don't want to leave each other alone in field.

so they just agree to try to do their best, still. and that Nightwing returns to Gotham.

unfortunately their best right now is very bad.

nothing works. nothing ever works.

they just have to keep hiding the corpse in the Cave, the body no one but them sees, the guilt no one but them sees. partners in crime, father and son. no one else has to know. let them think it was just a clown, let the others think they don't live with actual murderers.

jay's at cementry, but the memory of him is here. and it's not a good memory.

Damian and Bruce being stupid and sad. and I want to hug them so much; they are so not like themselves that they would let me, I think. it's even more sad my guys.

Damian Wayne, reverse Robins, as Nightwing with bonus Flamebird!Jon. I think that unlike Dick Damian wouldn’t be inclined to train with Superman and take the name Nightwing except that Jon might become Flamebird first and when Damian is looking for a new name suggests Nightwing to go along since they’re partners.

I kept Jon’s very close to the Superman suit design because I don’t think he’d stray too far from it even if he did pick his own name. Damian, on the other hand, I used a combination of his Batman design and League of Assasin’s type clothes bc I do think he would design it to have a nod to his past and heritage.

nightwing being hurt in the field, and over comms he can’t get out what was wrong, nearly in shock, and jason puts on his best batman™️ voice and says “robin, report.”

and it snaps dick out of it enough to say concussion, possible broken ribs, and a gash in his side.

Another reason why I’m a firm believer in letting Bruce get old is because the idea of him looking and his dark haired children without his glasses on and genuinely not being able to tell them apart is unparalleled

I think it’d be funny if Dick and Jason, due to wearing bright yellow capes on the job for years, are capable of stealth to a frankly unhinged degree. They barely have to try anymore it’s so second nature. Dick can just completely disappear while in the loudest neon clothes imaginable. Jason is constantly startling people who don’t understand how they missed a guy the size of a fridge standing right there. Bruce is extremely grateful for his unbreakable poker face because they have both startled him by accident and would never ever let him live it down if they knew.

Also, an interviewer once asked Damian about his piercings, y’know, expecting there to be a story there or at least some tough guy posturing. Damian looked at them for a long moment, leaning back n the couch so casually you’d think he’d owned it for years, before saying, “Can a man not like jewelry?” and becoming a meme for the 579th time in his life.

I didn't read all of Injustice 2 yet, so maybe I missed something BUT.

What are they called? Kara is not Supergirl yet and Damian took Nightwing's mantle, so just Kara/Damian?
