Feeling a bit philosophical here...
So I think love IS an important part of being human (one of many). Know how the ancient greeks had seven different words for love? (Actually eight, but I'm leaving out obsessive love cause that shit ain't healthy):
Eros - romantic love
Philia - affectionate, friendly love
Agape - selfless, universal love
Storge - unconditional, familiar love
Ludus - playful, flirtatious love
Pragma - committed, enduring love
Philautia - self love
And I think it's beautiful, because it's not a ranking system. If you don't feel certain types of love, you don't have to 'settle' for the rest, because each type is still love and love is no limited recource. And an endless amount of love is enough to fill any life with happiness.
There are so many things to love - people, animals, nature, art, music, stars, rocks, your houseplant, your favourite tshirt, pizza, a trashy tv show. Yourself. It seems so silly that people think that, in this big world, someone couldn't find happiness just because their love isn't focussed on that tiny fraction of the universe that is made of human beings.

I know you’re asleep right now but for when you wake up/when you get the chance, do you have any advice for drawing?
Good morning! Well afternoon where i am now-
I had whole paragraphs of replies originally written down. But then read those and realized “wait this is pretentious not helpful” so in the trash it goes and actual advice in 3 2 1:
-Draw the same thing differently. An example is how i learned (still am learning) to draw rocky, turn his head in different direction and angles and draw it to learn facial structure, expression and shape language. References are KING and if u need to take a selfie first of you doing the expression or set in the angle then do it! Infact i encourage everyone to always use references! Especially as a learning tool.
Dont know how to draw hands? Take a picture of your own hand in different positions and replicate that!
“I did that but it doesn’t look right and feels flat or wrong”
-shape language, repeats that 50 times over
Everything in art started out as a simple shapes and grew more complex overtime. Honestly tracy butler said it best in her tutorials!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Credit ofc goes to @lackadaisycats
Respective links: Bleep and bloop
These tips apply to everything, and the best part about learning is that you can stop at any point, as long as u feel u did something new today. No need to draw everyday, no need to grind out a 100 10sec drawings on a single page. Those are learning tools too! But they can be very intimidating and demotivating to someone not used to drawing a lot.
My process:
Honestly it’s as simple as, thats a funny cat picture, im drawing my favorite pyromanic cat as this now. Honestly i don’t draw cats or anthro stuff usually so just having fun with this new learning process is the greatest advice i can offer!
In short, youtube tutorials are the grestest gift to free recources online and looking up “how to draw xyz” has never been easiet thanks to it!

Do u have any advice or recources on learning 3d art? I really love ur GQ model and hope I can make something of similar quality some day soon :3c
I get this question surprisingly often and it's kinda hard for me to answer because I'm really not that much of an expert? The way I did it was: Go to college for game art, learn 3D stuff but focus on 2D, and then after college dedicate yourself to modelling a lowpoly Vtuber avatar inspired by an artstyle you love (Mega Man Legends) out of spite because you hate the push for realism and barely noticeable graphical improvements in AAA games.
Like, I guess the few tips I think I can give are: get a strong focus, a design you really want to realise or an artstyle you really want to learn to replicate, to keep you motivated when things get hard or go wrong (and they will go wrong, this is the universal truth of 3D modelling). and then just look stuff up when needed/ask people for help (you're doing that, good job!) Also be inquisitive about the program! (I use Blender) Experimenting with tools and settings has taught me a lot honestly, and I've invented silly little useful techniques this way.
OH also when you're trying a new thing, like rigging or testing out how a tool works, just do so in a new scene! I find it helps when you don't have the clutter of your actual project during that, yknow?
Anyway I hope that helps at least a bit! Thank you for the compliment and I wish you luck on your journey :>

(firstly i love your art its very comforting great bats) but i wanted to ask whats your method in practicing anatomy and kind of merging it with your style idk where to start
recently ive been on a big study kick. finding good models to study is quite hard, but if you look around you can find some places. im self taught so i know how hard it can be to find recources sometimes. for me, i frequently do gesture drawing sessions, which are great ways to practice. look up Ges Draw Party on youtube for those. it doesnt matter if they look like shit, as long as you keep doing them you'll learn. for the nitty gritty stuff i usually use the Morpho books. i have pdfs of two of them. theyre great for learning how to construct accurate anatomy and have helped me a lot. i also just do regular figure studies pretty often. simply try your best to draw a real person. i find reference images in a lot of places. ive downloaded some reference packs for a few bucks on gumroad, later ko-fi when that site kinda imploded. adorkastock has tons of free references on deviantart and tons of paid packs on ko-fi. theres also lineofaction.com which will only give you randomized model photos, but its still fine. you can also mess with the timer and do gesture sessions on there. theres also fatphotoref.com which is password protected but you can just email the creator and get the password really easily, i dont wanna give it out publicly for obvious reasons. in terms of that last question, merging it with your art style, thats something everyone kinda needs to figure out for themselves. i know im certaintly still trying to figure that out. its all up to you what aspects you want to keep realistic or what parts you want to warp or exaggerate. thats all just part of style development. watch some sinix design videos on shape theory idk.

Thanks to your positive responses to last year’s event, we’re going to have another Worfriker Secret Santa gift exchange! This is a small event to celebrate fellow creators and fans of the pairing Worf/Riker from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
On Christmas Day, each participant will gift a fanwork to another and receive a gift in return. Your gift can be any type of fanwork, be it fanfiction, art, graphics, photography, gif sets, moodboards, videos, playlists, recipes, anything! The only requirements are a) it must be created for this exchange and b) it must focus on Worfriker.
More info under the cut!
.
‧⁺✧ Participation ♡°‧
You must have a tumblr account and/or an AO3 account.
Fill out this sign up form with your personal wishlist.
If desired, you have the possibility to list things you do not want to create or receive as a gift.
You will receive a message from me by November 25th, letting you know who your giftee is.
If you are unsure about your giftee’s wishlist or just want to say hello, feel free to anonymously message them! always remember, a secret santa’s whole thing is to only reveal your name on Christmas Day!
Feel free to combine different types of fanwork for your gift, for example a moodboard that comes with a playlist, or a recipe that is included in a little ficlet — anything goes!
Finish your fanwork before December 25th…
…and post it to your blog and/or the AO3 collection on Christmas Day, tag your giftee and this blog so I can reblog it ♡
.
‧⁺✧ Wishlists ♡°‧
Examples for wishlists could be “something warm and fluffy” or “coffeeshop AU + Worf with long hair as a first choice, alternatively something angsty” or “domestic vibes including Alexander” or “first three choices: first kiss, romantic smut, holodeck malfunction” or “poetry” etc.
If you want something specific, please give your secret santa several options to choose from, as seen above. However based on experience, it is better to keep your wishes more general and abstract.
Just because this is a “secret santa” event doesn’t mean the work has to be holiday/Christmas themed. Consideration of Worf’s Jewish upbringing is encouraged.
Receiving and/or creating 18+ content is only allowed for participants who are over the age of 18!
When creating your wishlist, please do not ask for specific forms of fanwork i.e. “I want a gif set”. not everybody has the recources to do every type of fanwork + this is a low level event with probably only a little number of participants, so if your wishlist is too specific it will be hard for me to find you a secret santa.
.
‧⁺✧ Timeline ♡°‧
Sign ups close on November 22nd.
You receive your secret santa mission details by November 25th.
If you cannot complete your gift in time, please message your giftee ANONYMOUSLY to inform them they’ll receive their gift a little bit later. This is common courtesy.
If you cannot complete your gift AT ALL, please back out before December 17th so that I have enough time to find a replacement or pinch-hitter.
And finally: gifts dropping on December 25th!
.
There is no upper or lower limit on your Secret Santa creation. Just make sure that it is the best you can do with the time you have and that you create something you think will make your giftee happy!
Please keep in mind: While I included a pinch-hitter option in the sign up form, there is no 100% guarantee that everyone will receive their gift on Christmas Day. Sometimes real life just happens, especially in these times, so please have patience with your secret santa!
Just message me in case there are any problems or questions — remember, this is all in good fun ♡

I forgor I wanted to post this so here it is a month later.
Time to clown on the "indian" aka stereotypes about natives art project week stuff from primary school (like 2007/8) I found in a box at the very tippy top of a shelf while cleaning my room
Tumblr media
so first of can we please talk about how dusty this is? when I say it was at the tippy top of the sehlf I mean it like it was so far back I had to get a broom to pull the box forward, this thing has not seen the light of day for 16ish years
but now on to the contents
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so first we have these little pouches which, by themselves, would be a pretty neat and cute arts and crafts project if it werent for the context of the overarching theme
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
then we got these things which I am assuming are supposed to be a pretty sad mockery/imtation of the medallions that are a traditional item in a lot of tribes in different variations across the american continent.
Gotta love how primitive these are, like it just shows the image that (sadly) most folks still have over here especially on the country side where learning about what european settelers did over in america is not seen as relevant enought to german history to teach about even tho the way settelers "managed" the "native issue" was literally the blueprint for concentrationcamps but that‘s a topic for a nother day
but I have give little me credit tho for scribbeling a literal thunder dragon on there, little me had good taste.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then we got a flimsy little cardboard tomahawk and a drum made from a flower pot and like 8 layers of that thin paper people weap sandwhiches in. Again, the drum would be a cute idea for a craft project if it weren‘t for the context.
While I‘ll most likely toss out the other stuff I will try to actually salvage the drum, sand off the acrylic paint and give it a new paint job and slap some fake moss on it, make it a little fairy core drum so when my bff rings her ocarina we can be a little fairy bard group at larps.
okay and not for the the ✨costume✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah it-…its literally just a sheet with a neckhole and these fringey bits cut into it and a strip of fabric from the same sheet with little bisons on to it 😐👌 I am cringing as much as you are (probably)
so um yeah that‘s it. that‘s the post. I could write an analysis about this and how it perfectly displays the lack of care of european schools to properly teach about american history and what kind of rotten foundation the great land of the free is actually built on but honestly I don‘t really feel like I need to? I think you get the point?
like literally native hisotry is an OPTIONAL topic not in history but in ENGLISH class in 10th and 11th grade and only for vocabulary reasons, most of the time teachers tend to pick australian aborigines because it is a less political topic…aaand yeah its just really sad I guess.
I got lucky in 10th grade and had a teacher that eas close to retirement so she just didn‘t give a shit about the curriculum and freestyled about anything she was passionate about and since she lived in the US near a rez for like 10 years this was one of the topicss
also really glad that the internet exists and gave me the recources to educate myself more on topics like this because oh god I don‘t even wanna know what I would be like if that wasn‘t the case.

Okay. I must admit that I got overboard with this one. I started making this bundle of NPCs so GMs do not have to come up with joke characters that party will hang on until the end of the campaign. Yet.. Here we are with Tick. But hey, he was fun draw and is fun to think about. So his name will be fitting for that too.
Tick is a big guy (for a gnome at least). He is strong and nimble, yet still prone to accidents. More than often one can hear the tale telling sound of shattering glass from his workshop. Yet nothing seems to be able to bring his mood down. All characters of People We Met - A Free to Use NPC Catalogue, instructions and print friendly versions can be found here. Updates thrice a week.

So I made a brush for the new IBIS Paint X update. It makes automatic gradients:
Tumblr media
I don't know how it could be used in art, but I'm sure it'll be convenient for someone. You don't need to credit me of you use it, but I would love to see art you guys make with my brush!
