@shewolfaurea location: Haven notes: kiss kiss
The fact that Althea couldn't bring herself to say "I told you so," when the Kossith began taking witches, the Student - and no one at the Tower - could say they were surprised. Telling the world that she was right wouldn't change the horror of their present reality, and wishing that things were different wouldn't change the road ahead. If Haven wanted the best general, they'd find one. They followed Aurea because she was one of them and if she could fight these creatures than so could they.
Naturally, Althea had been in Caer Glas Keep at the time but circumstances brought her home, brought her back to Haven. She'd taken this post as an escape, running from her own insecurities, emissary to an alpha who wanted nothing but blood. War. A small minded, but powerful fool. When Aurea challenged him the Student assumed that the young woman would be like those who'd come before her. Maybe it was that Aurea held a stubbornness that Althea had lacked back then, but she was the woman she was today because she'd watched Aurea beat Erik into the ground and took the throne for herself.
"You've toppled beasts before, we've battled the Blight and won. These cretins scratching at our walls are warmongers of the most savage kind. We will fight them because we must," a beat, "on your terms, not theirs." It wasn't quite hello, how are you? But it said a different message, one that Althea had relayed time and time again to her friend, her sister. I will never leave you.

The Epic of the Void
In Tales of Xadia it was mentioned there is a song called 'The Epic of the Void' about the Startouch Elves in the library in Evenere. Now I wonder why Callum needed to go to Lux Aurea for information. He was the high mage of Katolis for two years. I know he doesn't like dark magic but he did read about dark magic in those years and he did study it so he could approach to the other high mages in the other kingdoms. Having connectioins is important, he could have just ask for help from the other mages to analyze the stuff in Viren's chambers. I know Evenere is in chaos but Callum could still ask their high mage for help and ask her questions. It's seems off he didn't try and get informations and expand his horizons with other mages. Season 5 proves us he did study dark magic even if he never plan to use it, so he should have done it. In the few days between season 4 and 5 Callum should have sent crows to all the high mages in the other kingdoms to find information. I know the Evenere mage doesn't have a reason to tell him about the poem, but he could have tried the other human kingdoms, he had information about Aaravos in the Katolis library the others might have some books as well. Sure, if they also have books about startouch elves the writing could have disappear anyway, but he should have tried it. Maybe the Evenere mage would have approve for him to go and read this poem. I know the poem is not very informative but he could be important like the book with the ocean sonnets. I think this poem will be important, maybe they will go to look for this poem next season and we finally going to see Evenere, there is a reason it was in the Tales of Xadia for sure.

Honestly, I am pretty frustrated by the "haha why would anyone hate ace people" responses to Rowling's tweet.
Don't get me wrong, the support is nice. But if you want to be an ally, you have to do so on our terms, not yours. And that means actually engaging with the aspec community, not just posting positivity every now and again. And what those responses highlight to me is what I've known for a while; you guys only support aspec people when it's easy and convenient.
It's easy to support aspec people when it's J.K. Rowling being awful again. It's easy to support us when it's just reblogging an "aspec people are queer" post.
But what about when we are talking about amatonormativity and the relationship hierarchy? When we are discussing the enforcement of compulsory sexuality? When we are pushing for greater awareness and support for aspec identities that are not asexuality or aromanticism? When we are criticizing terminology that you use but harms us? Because I can tell you right now, I rarely see allo people engage with those posts.
Why do people hate asexuality (or any other aspec identity)? Because it challenges the societal norms that benefit them. And that is uncomfortable and scary. So they turn to hate and oppression in order to assure that the changes we push by just openly existing never happen.
That means that to be a good aspec ally, you can't just make a positivity post every now and again, and you can't just laugh about how stupid aphobes are. You have to openly challenge the societal norms that harm us, even if they benefit you. Including but not limited to:
The idea that romantic and sexual attraction is the default state of being (amatonormativity)
The idea that a romantic, sexual relationship completes a person
People in marriages receiving special privileges and benefits
The idea that platonic, familial, etc. attraction are default states of being
The idea that not feeling some form of attraction must be compensated for through another form of attraction
The idea that love (not just romantic) is inherently morally good, while not feeling love is inherently a moral failing
The idea that any one form of relationship is inherently more important or deeper than any other (relationship hierarchy)
The idea that any one thing makes someone human
The idea that not having sex is shameful or infantile
The idea that having sex without romantic love is callous
Gendered divides of sexual and romantic attraction
Other aspec people please feel free to add on/challenge any of this. Allo (not aspec) people please feel free to ask questions.

An interesting thread in S7 that I noticed:
You are destroyed by the things you create.
The first time we see this kind of thread (at least I think, I might've missed something) is with Kpp'Ar and Viren in season 6. Kpp'Ar takes Viren on as his "most eager student" and teaches him much in the ways of dark magic, even eventually handing over the position of High Mage. And even once acquiring said position, Viren betrays him in order to take the Staff of Ziard, citing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then you have Viren being destroyed and creating the exact circumstances he didn't want. In corrupting Lux Aurea, he expelled the Sunfire elves, leading to Karim's increasing fanaticism, power struggle, and usage of Sol Regem. This led indirectly to Sol Regem bringing Viren's worst nightmare down upon Katolis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We see this more directly with Aaravos as well, as he created Sir Sparklepuff and had Avizandum specifically summoned back from the dead in S7, both of which have a hand in his demise:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This also ties into Aaravos' desire to destroy the Cosmic Order, as they created the circumstances that led to his anger in killing Leola, and therefore his violence and great machinations:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This "you are destroyed/defeated by what you create" is also one of the things that won me over when theorizing about S7, as I thought that if Callum used dark magic to defeat Aaravos fully (rip Rayla's positive character development theorized there too), while it might have felt a bit thematically muddied, would've had a great layer of irony: Aaravos, being imprisoned/defeated by the very thing he created. Close, but no cigar!
Then, for the core protagonists, to a certain degree we have this theme with Viren and Claudia. Viren realizes his horror at what Claudia has become, as well as the path that he's pushed and led her down by example. This doesn't literally destroy him, but it does emotionally devastate him, and does end up destroying their relationship in a lot of ways.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even Claudia gets a bit of this, as she stabs her mother in the back—a daughter killing her own mother—just as Soren stabbed Viren in 3x09. Children killing their own parents, even as illusions, fits the theme, don't you think?
Ezran also gets interwoven into this idea in a few interesting ways in season 7. In creating the circumstances that led to Ezran being king, and thereby creating the child king and his rage, Runaan could've become a victim of it, and indeed nearly was (7x01, 7x02).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second way this could come to a head for Ezran is Project Ruby Fire, though we'll have to wait for future seasons. While the project is his and Aanya's brainchild to keep Katolis (Evrkynd now?) safe and safe from the threat of dragons in the future, it's unlikely that these weapons of destruction will stay unused, and could possibly lead to devastation and loss in their kingdoms and/or of their friends (Zym).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but not least, we have Callum and Rayla. While not a literal destruction (but close to), they were prepared to sacrifice everything for one another. Callum's death would've made Rayla an assassin, hardening her heart further than it already is; on the other side of things, Callum became a mage and a dark mage because of her (2x07, 5x08): "If you love her, you'll be the you who can save her," even if that means demanding she'd become the her who can kill him, and save him / the world from a fate worse than death.
At the same time, Callum only begins doing the dark magic spell because he trusts Rayla to be his safety net. I can see solid arguments for whether she would've actually gone through with it on either side, but it led to Callum re-corrupting himself and opening himself up to Aaravos' possession in the future either way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like with Ezran and Project Ruby Fire, I expect this plot thread to be more of a beat in Arc 3 / future seasons, but am still deeply interested to see how it may all come to pass - and how there could be more consequences (the Nova Blade?) even from trying to do good.

We’re Okay
Soren x Corvus
Summary - Corvus and Soren see each other for the first time since the events of We All Fall Down
Word Count - 424
Warnings - Fluff, hurt/comfort ig??? It’s really just comfort
Season 6 spoilers ahead. Set in season 7. BTW I’ve been imagining Katolis sets up a New Lux Aurea kind of situation.
Soren trudged through the camp that now housed all of Katolis. He moved slowly with his head hung low, limping due to his injuries sustained in the dragon attack. Opeli had begged him to rest, but he’d argued that as crown guard it was his duty to make sure all survivors had their needs met in the king’s absence.
A yell rang out ahead of him, “SOREN!” He raised his head to see Corvus, throwing himself off Pyrrah and sprinting towards him.
Despite his injuries Soren managed a weak run, meeting Corvus at the camp’s entrance. Corvus crashed into him and wrapped his arms around him, nearly sending both men tumbling to the ground. Soren returned the hug, breathing into Corvus’s shoulder.
“You’re alive! I–I heard about the castle and I thought. . . I wasn’t sure If you– I mean–” Corvus, teary eyed, pushed himself off Soren enough to look at him. His hands traveled upwards, cupping Soren’s face. “Your face is all cut up! Are you okay?”
“I’m fine! I just got a little banged up! I’m okay. . .” He shifted his hands hold onto Corvus’s arms for support. “I’m two-for-two on surviving dragon attacks. Pretty impressive, right?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.
Corvus beamed. “Very.” Something like an idea flashed in his eyes, then doubt. Clearly he paid it no mind, because suddenly he pulled Soren into a kiss.
Soren went stiff for a moment. This was very unexpected.
Although, when he thought about it. . .
The way their friendship had grown as fellow crown guards. . .
Their adventures with the mushroom mage. . .
Corvus’s hands right now, holding his face oh so gingerly. . .
No, yeah, he absolutely should have seen this coming.
He relaxed into Corvus’s touch, kissing him back softly. When they pulled away he was bright red, but Corvus just smiled warmly.
Soren squeaked out an, “Oh!” as he stared at Corvus. “You know I wasn’t entirely expecting that.”
Corvus’s smile wavered, and in a panic Soren kissed him again, this one shorter but just as sweet. “Not mad about it though! For the record.”
Corvus breathed a sigh of relief and dropped his hands, hugging Soren again and speaking into his chest. “I was so, so scared that you might not have made it out,” he whispered.
Soren held him close, one of his hands making its way into Corvus’s hair. “I’m okay! I got out. it’s–” His breath hitched. “It’s okay. We’re okay, Corvus.”
I’m so ill for them

The temptation to create a twst oc based off of them and have her as their daughter...
Does anyone even know about Arthur and The Invisibles/Minimoys or is it just like, 6 people in a very small part of tumblr? Anyway yeah now all I can imagine is just their daughter trapped in Twisted Wonderland at NRC and just defeating the Overblot boys with the Sword of Power and a bunch of bugs and critters helping her out. At the very least, Jamil would be terrified of her lol.
She'd probably also really good at potions since she knows about the elixirs that turn her from human to minimoy thanks to her Great Grandfather. I'm thinking of calling her either Avalon, Aurea or Azalea to match the "A" themed names of Arthur's family, Selenia's flower based name and also cause the movies reminded me a lot of King Arthur and Excalibur so I figured Avalon would be a cool name to add to the list.
...
Oh god no I'm hyperfixating NOOOO!!! I STILL HAVE MY HTTYD x TWST FIC TO WORK ON-

💚 a zine on aromanticism 💚
Tumblr media
^an informational zine on aromanticism I made for Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week
feel free to share/print!
(pages and image IDs after the break)
Tumblr media
Image ID 1: the front and back cover. The front cover reads, “informational zine — Aromantic: What Does That Mean? — by Peter Z.”
there are two simple arrow shapes between lines of the text pointing in opposite directions.
The middle of the page has a long stripe with the colors of the aromantic flag, which extends to the back cover. the back cover side lists what each of the colors represent: green — aromanticism; light green — the aromantic spectrum; white — platonic and aesthetic attraction; gray — gray-romanticism and demi-romanticism; black — the sexuality spectrum.
The back page reads, “more resources!
TAAAP.org
Aro Spec Week.com
gsrc.princeton.edu (SAM)
aromanticism.org (AUREA)
Elizabeth Brake (aromanticism)
Aggressively Aro Spec Tumblr
Aromantic Guide.com”
End text. Two gray silhouettes of lily flowers act as embellishment. End ID 1.
Tumblr media
Image ID 2: pages 1 and 2 of the zine.
Page 1: “Aromantic — or just ‘aro’ for short — refers to someone who experiences little to no romantic attraction to anyone — or experiences it in a different way than others. Alloromantic is the opposite — one who does have romantic attraction.” The text is green and dark teal with light green boarders around the sections.
Page 2: small letters says “this might help to understand” and arrow points to the title “Split Attraction Model” — “a way of understanding attraction by separating it into types: sexual, romantic, platonic, alterous, aesthetic, etc.
“Sexual Orientations: bisexual, heterosexual, asexual. Romantic Orientations: biromantic, heteroromantic, aromantic. — sometimes they match, sometimes they don’t! Words like biromantic and heteroromantic commonly refer to both S. O. and R. O.” End ID 2.
Tumblr media
Image ID 3: pages 3 and 4.
Page 3: titled “A-spec Community”. Below is a Venn diagram, the left circle labeled “aro”, the right circle “ace”, the overlap space “aro ace”, this is all within a larger circle labeled “a-spec”.
Aromantic is not the same as Asexual (little to no Sexual Attraction to anyone at all). The identities and communities are related but distinct”
Page 4: titled “Myths” with dark teal flower silhouettes on either side. Myths include “hates all romance, childish “late bloomer”, not LGBTQ+, unemotional, wants to be alone, can’t be in a relationship, afraid of commitment, can’t also be gay/hetero/etc” End ID 3.
Tumblr media
Image ID 4: pages 5 and 6.
Page 5: “Are you aro? some common experiences: made up crushes, flirting doesn’t make sense, hard to identify romantic feelings, dating isn’t a priority, don’t like romance heavy media, dating because you’re “supposed to”, rarely if ever fall in love”, don’t have celebrity crushes. *these are not exclusive to aros though!”
Page 6: the top of the page has the shape of an umbrella, the text inside reads “the Aromantic umbrella”. The body has four microlabel examples;
“Gray-romantic — romantic attraction rarely or weakly.” Next to it is a small rectangular flag with 5 horizontal stripes: green, gray, white, gray, green.
“Demi-romantic — romantic attraction only after a bond has formed.” Rectangular flag with a wide white stripe, narrow green, and wide gray stripe, and a black triangle on the left side.
“Allo-aro — allosexual and aromantic, no romantic attraction, has sexual attraction.” Rectangular flag with even horizontal stripes: green, light green, white, yellow, dark yellow.
“Aro-ace — aromantic and asexual, no romantic or sexual attraction.” Rectangular flag with even stripes: orange, yellow, white, light blue, dark blue. End ID.

A rambling analysis about Aaravos as a whole
Post Season 6, the enigma that is Aaravos FINALLY got a deeper dive into his character and backstory and we finally know three important things, (in my opinion) that are critical when creating a character in any form of media:
1. Motivations
2. Goal(s)
3. What’s keeping those goals from being fulfilled
1. motivations
it’s obvious that his motivation to everything he does is his love for Leola, and how he’s coping with being bereaved of his child. In addition, I’d also like to address that his second motivation is for a world unlike the one the Cosmic Order and the Archdragons desire. Obviously, what I mean is the cycle of violence itself- and yes, Aaravos continues the cycle, but he’s also trying to break it with his startouch ability of prophetic visions, or how season 6 puts it, “becoming time blind.”
Tumblr media
Due to this ability, I think Aaravos instigated the Battle of the Storm Spire and manipulated Viren to make it happen because he wanted to force the elves and humans to unite under one cause. On the other hand, it can be argued that “actually Aaravos is only causing harm, just look at Lux Aurea,” and of course that seems like the easiest explanation for his actions, but I think I can refute that claim.
By corrupting Lux Aurea, he knew that by doing so, it would be enough to motivate the elves into a confrontation with Viren and the rest of the human kingdoms + their armies. Yes, Aaravos did say, “do you want to conquer Xadia?” To Viren, but I believe that that was merely a way to goad him into conflict, and it shouldn’t be taken seriously because that’s not one of Aaravos’s intentions or legitimate goals.
2. Goal(s)
Like I said before, Aaravos isn’t planning on conquering Xadia, he’s obviously planning on avenging his deceased daughter, by killing (presumably) everyone who approved of Leola’s execution. Sol Regem was killed, and now as season 7 approaches, the Cosmic Order is next. Knowing that only a startouch elf can kill another startouch elf- according to the TDP Wikia page, it’s obvious that this is what he’s planning on accomplishing.
Tumblr media
The season 7 summary states that he’s planning on, “inverting life and death,” which to me seems like he’s attempting to revive Leola in some incredible feat of magic. Deep magic?
Putting his personal issues aside, when it comes to Xadia itself, Aaravos is planning on restoring the solidarity between East and West Xadia, and mending the continent as a whole, and he’s doing it through people like Janai.
As a character who is merciful, Janai is a revolutionary figure who struggles with also healing the old wounds between the dragon and elven part of Xadia and the human part of Xadia. Her perception of peace and mercy is why I believe that Aaravos is in a tandem mindset with her and wishes to keep her as a reigning monarch in Lux Aurea, or she would’ve been dead by now.
The Sunfire monarchs are influential historical figures- look to Sol Regem, whose hatred for humanity no doubt influenced the outcome of segregating humans into the west. And Aditi, whose voice was enough to motivate the succession conflict from tearing Xadia apart.
When Aaravos haunts Janai in her dreams, it’s a threat, but it’s also a warning. It’s him challenging her to either become her grandmother, “your just like your grandmother,” and also to beware of her fate, lest it become Janai’s as well, “I swallowed her,” S5EP9. Because Aaravos disapproved of Aditi’s actions and influence, he’s trying to use fear to control Janai and keep her from becoming her grandmother before her. By that, Aditi may have been a “wise and trusted leader,” according to Zubeia, but I think she was also a cruel leader who had a skewed perception of mercy, (just look to Kim’Dael.)Yes, Aditi wanted to restore peace, but one act of benevolence (ending the succession crisis,) isn’t enough to justify one act of “mercy.” (Kim’Dael’s Mercy Debt)
3. What’s keeping those goals from being fulfilled:
I’ll keep this one short, but it’s clear that The Cosmic Order itself is keeping him from accomplishing this goal. During the trial, Aaravos couldn’t stand up alone to them with his actions and thus resorted to verbal confrontation in order to convince the council to let Leola go. This didn’t work, and despite how powerful he is, Aaravos couldn’t forcefully use magic to prevent the council from killing Leola. With season 7 coming up, I think he’ll try to get The Merciful One to ally with him against the other members of the council. As much as he hates them for having Leola killed, perhaps Aaravos can convince TMO into regretting their decision in condemning Leola and to help stand up to the rest of the Cosmic Council, since TMO is the only one to have approached Aaravos post trial, probably due to a now shattered friendship.
That’s all for now! I might make a part two going more into depth, but this is it, thanks to anyone for reading my unintelligent yapping :)

Book 6, Episode 2: Love, War, and Mushrooms Analysis/Commentary
Tumblr media
"You certainly didn't go to any of my Crownguard Bonding Barbeque game Night Extravaganzas"
I am adamant that Soren mostly threw these hilariously named parties so Corvus would come. As far as I know, there are only two Crownguards it could be referring to. Or maybe he just made that name up in this scene to make a point. So actually I'm not quite as adamant as I suggested in the beginning of this paragraph lol
Tumblr media
This scene follows one where Janai expresses frustration with the Six Horns' masks. She sees Karim in her crown's reflection; she's associates her crown with Karim's obsession with tradition. That's just my interpretation.
Tumblr media
lol sorghum. apparently that is a type of plant. ig i can see how they got the words mixed up.
Tumblr media
beep beep beep gaydar
Tumblr media
Still waitin' on a explanation for Ezrans animal telepathy. We all know the dragon prince doesn't have such a soft magic system lol.
Tumblr media
mushpal stimmies. seriously they are like the Autism Creature's cousin or something.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"no homo" my ass
Tumblr media
No, I'm not transitioning to male, or female. I now identify as THIS ⬆️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Janai is down below her subjects in a small theatre while Karim is elevated far above.
Janai begins her speech by acknowledging the struggles and mistakes her and her people have made. She is humble and empathetic. Karim, however, speaks of violence, supremacy, and of course, faith. He's like the equivalent of an abusive priest, using faith to justify his actions. Meanwhile, Janai states that Karim uses doubt - or rather, fear - to his advantage. Just like how politicians will convince people to fear a demonized "other" to be seen as a messiah.
Tumblr media
Bro really said "sure, more people disagree than agree with me, but like...I'm right." Bro just destroyed democracy with the power of Because I Said So.
Tumblr media
Still trying to figure out this one. Guess he is rolling the Key of Aaravos and marking stuff. When it landed on Sky he marked Duren territory. The crown lookin thing is on Katolis, triangle for Southeast of Lux Aurea, rectangle for the Storm Spire, and circle for Umber Tor. Is this some sort of game I don't know?
