Hunter hasn’t gotten a proper break since the squad left Kamino the first time… I feel like he takes care of everyone but forgets about himself, typical eldest sibling in crisis mode :((

Are there any Eldest Sister Syndrome Anezaki Mamori fics out there???
I am fucking FERAL for fics about Mamori's internalized and repressed feelings on watching over a kid who isn't even biologically related to her. I'm talking about all the rage Mamori feels in her heart whenever she remembers how the other kids in elementary school treated Sena like shit, and the absolutely ugly truth that Sena's parents aren't doing anything to intervene in the bullying.
I'm talking about Mamori losing her faith in adults early on, because they did nothing to stop Sena's bullies. I'm talking about Mamori joining the student council because she internally screams, "Fuck it! If they aren't going to do anything about it, then I WILL."
I'm talking about Mamori putting herself in a position of power as a member of the Student Council to protect her little brother Sena, who no one else but her and Riku (who moved a long time ago) seem to care about protecting.
I'm talking about all the RAGE Mamori feels towards the world, but shoves deep down inside her core. And the despair she feels that, "If I don't do it, will anyone else do it???"
I'm talking about Mamori basically fucking PARENTING Sena when his own parents couldn't. She would bring bentos for him, take care of him when his parents couldn't, and she would even go so far as to use her own body as a shield for him.
I'm talking about the SHEER FRUSTRATION that must come over her when she spirals from time to time, because, "Why is it me? Why should I parent someone else, when I'm just a kid too? Why aren't the adults doing anything?"
But at the same time, like an Atlas, she carries the weight of it anyway. Because she loves Sena, and would bear the trauma of parentification if it came down to it.
I'm talking about the amount of utter KINDNESS it must take to forgive Sena's parents again and again, instead of lashing out at them whenever she sees them. I'm talking about the colossal amount of love it takes for Mamori to sacrifice so much for her baby brother, her found family, her beloved little Sena.
In this house, we FUCKING LOVE parentified Mamori, with Eldest Sister Syndrome. She deserves the fucking world and MORE for bearing all that weight.

Somehow I've taken the role of the Responsible One in all of my relationships. And I'm so tired. Why do I have to be the one in charge? When will I be able to just sit back and not hold the weight of the world on my shoulders? Why doesn't anyone care enough about me like I do for everyone else?

DPXDC Prompt #8
The Fenton siblings stick together. There was never any question about it. Even when Danny accidentally half killed them with the portal accident. He tripped, okay? Who puts the on switch inside the damn thing anyways!? Even when Danielle had that one murderous phase, thinking she needed to prove herself. It was Vlad's fault for trying to manipulate her to his side. Even when Dan went on a rampage and destroyed most of Amity Park. In his defense he thought they all died for real this time. Jazz was the only exception, though the others begged to differ if they counted all the times she decked them after each of the listed incidents. So what if it was deserved?
The point is, despite everything, they will always have each other's back even against their own parents.
Or the Fenton siblings run away together after a reveal gone wrong. They end up in Gotham and find themselves inexplicably entangled with the Wayne family. To make matters worse, the Bats are seemingly everywhere, so it might only be a matter of time before one of them slips up and uses their powers in front of the 'no metas allowed' Batman. Is it too much to hope that half ghosts don't count as metas in his book?

i love when characters that are always the one protecting others, staying strong for them, putting others first- get to be taken care of. get to fall apart, get to be soft and vulnerable, get to be protected and loved just as fiercely as they protect and love the people they care about

I feel like batfam fans misunderstand the term parentification a lot and conflate it with Dick filling a parental role for his siblings, which might be part of the “oldest daughter syndrome” that’s so often pinned on him but that isn’t what parentification actually means
If I say that Dick Grayson was parentified, then that isn’t referring to him taking care of his siblings, it refers to the way Bruce treated him. As someone capable of taking care of his emotional needs and not as the child in need of care in the relationship
Parentification is a term that’s been around for decades, and while having to care for younger siblings might be a part of the definition, it focuses mostly on the role reversal of the parent-child dynamic. I’m not going to get into the psychology of it but being parentified has very little to do with if he actually acted as a parent for his siblings and everything to do with if he acted as a parent for Bruce
This is honestly why I prefer the term spouseification, which is less ambiguous than the term parentification and I feel accurately describes their “equal” relationship and the type of emotional abuse that Dick went through
Also from what I’ve read, Dick doesn’t act as a parental figure for any of his siblings except for Damian. While he might have given extra emotional support to Tim due to Bruce being Bruce, Dick still fits solidly into an older brother role. I’m not even going to touch on Dick’s relationship with Jason which is too weak to even be considered fraternal never mind parental

Don't you love how you're always told, "Hey take care of your siblings." And then later you get yelled at for "Acting like their mother when you're not." Like, what the shit?! Can I just please fucking breathe without getting in some kind of trouble for once? Any other older sisters, anyone else???

This entire scene makes me hurt but I wanna talk about this part in particular because it drives me insane.
Like- Splinter knows they aren’t just running errands. He can see his sons sneaking out thinking their slick and he found all their human stuff bc he’s nosey and if his sons won’t talk to him he’ll just have to investigate himself right?
So Splinter knows his sons are hiding something from him because duh- and he knows they want to be apart of the human world but he’s scared they’ll get hurt so he tries to bring the human world to them.
And you can just see the cringe and discomfort in the boys eyes because their father keeps trying to make them stay but it’ll never be in the way they want it, but they clearly feel bad.
And the real kicker is when Splinter tries that thing he did in the beginning of the movie, where he presses his sons about the truth but he specifically looks at Leo, like the screen cuts to Leo and even Raph looks at Leo because Splinter knows his eldest son would never lie to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then he does
Leo lies right to his fathers face no hesitation and Splinter gets that look that just screams ‘i lost them’ because even if his son’s disobey the rules and don’t talk to him anymore, Leo was like Splinter’s insider into what his kids are doing and how to keep them safe. Splinter lost their trust.
But now even Leo is shutting Splinter out, so Splinter has been completely walled off by his sons and to Splinter he has no idea why because he’s just doing this to protect his kids.
Looking at it from Leo’s perspective, he has a strong sense of Justice. In the beginning when their father grills them about where they’ve been, Leo caves immediately even though he knows it’ll make everyone mad at him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He braces himself for it too. There’s no reward in telling the truth but Leo does it anyway.
But Leo is a teenager, and teenagers tend to act in their own self interest. So when Leo keeps snitching and it only leads to punishment on all sides
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Isolation from his brothers, distance from his father, of course Leo is going to cut his losses and stick to the thing that brings him joy. Possible acceptance and April. It’s also the most we see him bond with his brothers since Leo isn’t trying to follow their fathers rules.
