I don't like the phrase "this reads like fanfiction" or similar comments about canonically works especially in comics where there's different writers, it's being written in a different time period, etc unless you can specifically point of actually examples as to way its similar to fanfiction or how it differs from the many other versions of a character

It's just a vague criticism that I can't take seriously because that could mean a whole lot of things
