My friend brought up the idea that Dazzle was still conscious as a Twisted (Glisten style) but is unable to express it because of Razzle and I went feral

I think the reasoning was because Dazzle looks in genuine distress and her teeth are flat while Razzle's are sharp. It could very clearly be a desgin choice, but that never stopped me

Led me into thinking about certain aspects of them with this HC

First off: Dazzle being unable to communicate to anyone. You can only speak so well with half a mouth. Also I feel like Razzle would quickly shut Razzle down is she tried to talk

(Twisted Razzle is a whole other can of worms)

Second: I think it would be neat that she's the one actually keeping Razzle "down," if that makes sense. Like, if she wasn't there, Razzle would be hostile to anyone who walked in his circle.

I dunno. I like Dazzle a lot and wanna make her special. Also the angst ideas feed me <3

Honestly, I think Jason Todd is afraid to love again, simply because of the way he loves. He tends to love wholeheartedly, without reservation, often to the point of self-destruction.

Remember that this is the man who endured at least six months worth of torture just so he wouldn't betray his father. Not a lot of people are capable of that sort of loyalty. 

To add insult to injury, it's very likely that he never got to experience any sort of positive reinforcement when it comes to loving a person.

In my Arkham fanfics, Jason's father was an abusive drunk and his mother was a junkie. While he learned to avoid his father, I'd like to think that he did hold some sort of love for his mother. He tried, in his own way, to take care of her, keep her safe.

He'd put a blanket over her when she was lost in her heroine-dreams, he'd wipe the drool from the side of her mouth, he'd leave stolen food next to her sweat-stained mattress for when she woke up. And all it ever got Jason, I imagine, was an absent-minded sort of affection. Perhaps she'd give him a vague smile, her eyes bloodshot and glassy, as if she wasn’t really seeing him, perhaps she'd ruffle his hair.

And for a long time, he'd think that was love.

Something rare, something small, but something that kept him warm all the same (for East End was a cold place), and he'd sip it like rainwater between his cupped palms, because it was all he'd ever known.

But then he gets adopted, and suddenly his perspective changes. 

Love, he realizes, can be patient. It can be his father Bruce, who somehow never got angry at him during those early days, when hope had warmed the inside of his chest like a swallowed star.

Love can be easy, he learns. It can be something as simple as Alfred, waiting up for him after a long rainy night, bringing him towels that were somehow always warm. It can be warm soup on the days that he woke up with a sore throat and a fever burning through his skin (and even to this day, he marvels at the idea that in Wayne Manor, food can come so easily--without stealing, without a fight).

But, he'll also tragically learn (or so he thinks) that love has to be earned.

I've always had this idea (and I stand by it) that Bruce did love his kids, deeply. But because of his own issues, he couldn’t love them in a way that they needed to be loved (and isn’t that true of most parents?).

It is the way Bruce never smiled at him when he was Robin. 

It is long nights of training just for a hint of his father’s approval. 

It is the constant comparison to another son, one who is faster, smarter, and better in every way. 

It is the way he thinks–and becomes terrified–that if he doesn’t earn his place in Wayne Manor, if he doesn’t earn his father’s love, he will be back in that cold place in East End where nothing can ever keep him warm again. 

And then Joker happens.

And then Joker happens. 

And no matter how strong he tried to be, how silent, no matter how much he tried to endure. 

He breaks (clean in two, a crack so wide it will never heal, you can trace the fractured seam of him and find the exact place where his heart was broken). 

Even worse, Batman breaks: he leaves Jason for dead (or so he thinks).

And a part of him will always think: is it enough? Was I not enough? 

Was it not enough to endure? To stay silent? To keep his father’s secrets?

Had Jason somehow, through some fault in his won, not done enough to earn being loved, being saved?

(Is he always going to be that small child in East End, and all he will ever know of it are vague smiles through bloodshot, glassy eyes? Was this his punishment for hoping for more? He can drink and drink and it will never be enough, the rainwater will always slip through his palms). 

And then there’s you. 

And at first he thinks it’s easy (as easy as warm soup on days when he’s feeling sick, as easy as a towel after a night in the rain), because you are brave and reckless and you are quite pretty when you smile. And it has been so long since he’s had a friend. 

It’s easy because you’re easy to be with: you read into his silences, you calm him down when he falters and you are braver than he gives you credit for (and there are days when he wishes that you are less brave). 

It is easy until one day, Jason realizes what’s happening and the first thing he thinks is that he can’t go through this again. 

He cannot be that child in East End, who follows his mother for crumbs of her affection like a dog starving for scraps.

He cannot be the boy in the Batcave, practicing over and over just so he’ll finally get to see his father’s smile

He cannot be Robin in Arkham Asylum, with a bullet hole in his chest and a brand burning on his face

And yet, and yet, Jason does not know any other way to love. 

He does not know of any other way it does not end in tragedy (and hurt and pain and betrayal). 

Oh, he is terrified. He thinks he fears you more than any other living thing in Gotham. 

To love you, he thinks, is to give you the chance to destroy him all over again. 

And he can’t, he can’t go through that again. 

(But oh, there are days Jason thinks you will be worth it.).

Diomedes: who has been a solider since he was 5 who has intersting thoughts about his own personhood who has a much more traditional relationship with Athena and would rather literally stab his own eye out with a rusted sword than speak out of turn: I don't know what you're talking about

Steve plays DnD with Eddie and the kids (not Hellfire, none of them are ready for that yet) for the first time and attempts to seduce a dude to get information.

The thing is, Steve’s character is also a dude. When he first asks, Eddie is shocked, the kids are confused because “he’s a man, Steve” and Steve just pulls out some old Harrington charm and sufficiently flusters Eddie and gets the information needed.

Most of the kids are just happy it worked. Will is happy and surprised because apparently both Eddie and Steve are cool with gay people, cool enough to roleplay as them! Mike is having an internal crisis because the lord has a wife but it still worked so is he gay or straight? When asked Eddie just says he likes both, which prompts a small internal crisis. Eddie is a weird jumble of feelings because Steve is flirting with him! But like in character. So is Steve gay? Is his character gay?! What’s happening!

Steve’s flirty remarks make it out of the game and just become Steve flirting ruthlessly with Eddie, but prompts no questioning from the party because “it’s an inside joke”.

Hey why can Ganon be revived via the heros blood in Adventure of Link?

It's not a plot point we see in any other games, so what makes Adventure of Link different? Here's my theory: the silver arrows. In the original Legend of Zelda (the first one), you kill Ganon by stunning him with your sword and finishing him off with an item called the silver arrows. Maybe, the silver arrows are a magic item designed to seal away powerful enemies within the blood of the user.

But the first game isn't the only time we see the silver arrows, they're also in A Link to the Past. Like the first game, you use them to finish Ganon off after stunning him with your sword. But Link doesn't have to deal with monsters trying to sacrifice him to bring back Ganon in that game, so I guess that destroys my theory, huh? Except... You know who does almost get sacrificed to bring Ganon back? Zelda. In the oracle games, twinrova kidnap her and try to sacrifice her. The in game explanation is that her death will bring people so much despair that Ganon can return, but what if it's also because Ganon is sealed away within her blood? Maybe she made/comissioned the silver arrows in the first place (edit: or maybe they're and artifact the royal family already had idk) and put her blood in them for the hero to find and use in A Link to the Past. And then, hundreds of years in the future, Link from the first Zelda game finds and uses them, not realizing the whole blood curse situation that goes with them

Tldr: silver arrows seal Ganon away in the user's blood and he can be brought back using their blood. Zelda from alttp and oracle games made and used them, and then Link from the first Zelda game used them and that's why he's got a blood curse in Adventure of Link

when the batboys get ahold of new single-player video game, there's only one console in wayne mansion (for literally no reason. there should be more), so they all have the unspoken agreement to huddle around a tv in someone's room and watch as one person plays it through.

you'd expect them to get annoyed at each other, not being able to agree on the "choose your own" options of the game, or getting frustrated with the person playing's incompetence at certain parts. but they're all surprisingly content with each other when they're playing.

tim's usually the one to play the game, because he's remarkably good, and is the most open to suggestions from others (unlike jason + the great controller break of the century). dick will watch pretty passively, and explain to damian the parts he doesn't quite understand the morals of, sometimes he takes over when no one else can pass a level. damian will join in watching, and is more enthusiastic than usual when it's a game he's been waiting to see. sometimes if he isn't particularly interested he ends up falling asleep. jason gets really into it, and him and tim usually take turns playing different parts of the game, it's the best they get along pretty much ever. before they've even sat down and started the game, jason seems to already know every fun fact and easter egg about it, and will share them throughout the gameplay.

bruce and alfred are more than happy to let the boys stay up later than usual or skip out on a chore they were supposed to do, when they're all playing a game together. it's the most normal they ever get. bruce only interferes if he walks past and sees damian asleep, to which he'll take him away and carry him to bed.

We don’t know exactly the LI’s true natures or origins (yet), so monster, human, cursed, whatever their natural state is or however many beings are in one body, the oldest one has the advantage in this...well, 'age line' (?).

In his character lore drop, “The Divine Teacher”, it is mentioned his figure has been present since “the earliest civilisations”. But if he’s a Monster, how did he escape the Shroud before the rest of the Monsters?

Vere

We know he’s had over a hundred celebrations (Birthday post ‘23) but also that the Senobium “bound a dangerous beast with a magic collar centuries ago” and the reports of the beasts’ first appearance were “ancient”—for something to be considered ancient, is must be “older than 2,000 to 5,000 years.” Make it make sense. It doesn’t, unless I’m taking the exact words too seriously. (Or he, like the MC, is cursed, and the beast inside him is seperate from Vere, like Ais and Ocudeus)

Ais

Either Ocudeus or him were alive and active before and during the first Fogfall (“As Monsters continued to abandon the Shroud” - character lore drop “Death Knell”).

I believe that this was Ocudeus, but we don’t know when it made the deal with Ais, so I’m putting both of them here.

Mhin

I want you to keep an open mind with this. If Lovent was destroyed during the first Fogfall and Mhin was there, it makes them at least a hundred years old.

In the time when he was married Lady Rhea Royce, Daemon would have had many different ...romps... er time with women ... probably on their wedding night too.

I can see him having a bastard child by one of the ladies in court at Runestone. And then completely forgetting about them. Say it was a girl (because I feel like Daemon is such a girl dad, specifically because of Baela and Rhaena). I think the girl would want to know more about herself.

She would feel alienated at Runestone, because of Rhea Royce - I'm not sure how kind she is, so I feel like she would give the bastard's mother money and would kick them both out. Now the girl has a vendetta against Daemon:

Would he think about the child from time to time? Possibly. I mean who knows what goes on in his head. But even with his own girls, he rarely has a relationship with them. Well, we do know that he wants Targaryen's to stay as rulers, he wants the House to last and be a brilliant legacy.

Therefore, Daemon could quietly acknowledge the girl, perhaps ensuring her well-being without making a public declaration. This would align with his penchant for defying tradition but also maintaining control over his narrative. And maintaining control is something that Daemon goddamn loves.

If the girl could serve a political purpose—such as forming an alliance or strengthening his position—Daemon might seek to legitimize her. However, this would depend on the context and his personal standing at the time.
