Mafia AU with the batfamily, but it starts when Jason comes back as the Red Hood.
In this AU, Dick is the first one to find out about Jason being a crime lord. He finds out that his little brother is alive and running a gang and says "fuck it."
Is Dick currently a police officer and vigilante? Yes. Does he also immediately quit his day job to join Red Hood's gang as soon as finds out? Also yes.
Dick has a second chance with his brother. Is this brother a little murderous? Sure. Dick's tried to kill people too, though. Also, Dick is 83% sure Tim's got a kill count. It's fine.
So Jason is confused why Dick is willing to join a gang. The oldest brother says some cringe worthy stuff about family and Jason takes the action as the proof of love and loyalty it is (also, somehow Dick is just as terrifying to their enemies as Red Hood, but Dick doesn't kill them).
Tim, upon seeing Dick join a gang, instantly researches the hell out of this group. He finds out it's Jason, runs the stats for how crime has dropped in Crime Alley, and instantly starts working behind the scenes to create a smoother path for them. Without meaning to, Tim becomes the shadow boss for Jason's gang. The brothers are not aware that the other gangs, mobs, and rogues are wary of whomever it is that's smoothly guiding Red Hood's gang to success.
Red Hood is the face, Nightwing (though maybe a different moniker) is his right-hand man, and there's someone steering them to victory.
The startling efficiency of the gang and quick ascent drives Bruce into a paranoid bender. The man also has no clue where Dick wandered off to and why he's ignorning Bruce. Tim, as Robin, pretends to try to help Batman take down this group. This causes mass amounts of confusion because no one is aware that Tim is helping Hood besides Tim himself.
When Damian first appears in Gotham, he doesn't immediately go to Wayne Manor. He stalks it first. And what does he find? Tim is apparently shadow controlling a major mafia in Gotham.
As some convulted plan to dethrone Tim from Robin (and also because Damian is not aware that shadow controlling a gang is against Bruce's rules [like how he doesn't know murder is a big no no]), Damian decides to infiltrate Jason's gang. At first it's rocky cause Jason doesn't want kids in that line of work, but Damian being Talia's kid (and the chance to provide Damian a better childhood) has Jason and Dick adopting the child. They try to keep the runt out of the work as much as possible.
They all (minus Tim) grow closer until one night Damian overhears Jason lamenting to Dick about how the Joker is still alive. Jason hates that his father never avenged him.
Damian decides to fix that by killing the Joker.
When Dick and Jason confront Damian about this, he reveals Tim is controlling their entire mafia from the shadows.

red hood: the lost days #6
[ID: Jason Todd pinning the Joker down in a puddle of gasoline by sitting on his chest. Jason is without his helmet with it laying in the gasoline near them. He has red eyeshadow around his eyes in the shape of his Robin mask and is snarling through gritted teeth down at the Joker, who's smiling up at him. Jason's muscular arms are exposed by wearing a black tanktop and blue jeans while the Joker is in his pinkish purple suit. Jason is holding a lit torch and behind them is a barricade of flammable barrels and the bright, full moon. In front of the moon is Batman with his cape flared out to resemble wings, his only visible feature being his glowing eyes. END ID]
#i know his dramatics and revenge fantasy gets the best of him but for the joker it just. didn't make sense#'i want it to be long and painful like how he beat & killed me' can be something yea but?? to actually stop ?#have him fantasize and build up this idea of what itll be like to kill joker and then the toppling down as hes still just so traumatized#and hurt. have him realizing how it didnt magically fix everything while also being confident in his choice because that risk of another#kid being merciless beaten or killed is gone. that he killed a horrible person and the world is better because of it#just... he isnt the world.#he stopped potential harm for others he feels good in killing joker he believes it was the best thing to do and he did it#but? what do you do when that harm isnt potential? when it isnt a threat but instead a memory that you have to relive through with every#single breath that you aren't supposed to have in the first place?#you did what you surely must been brought back to life to do. but now youre alive and you're alone and you dont know what else to do.#then have his anger or betrayal feelings at bruce. have jason developing and discovering himself#not as robin. not as a vengeful ghost. not as anything. but as jason todd and how hes carving his own destiny and the universe doesnt know#how to handle that. let him go through grief and trauma and anger. let him be cunning and a bitch. let him have the biggest heart.#let him work his way through crime rings and solo work and be a drug lord and how he helps gotham directly and just have some growth that#isnt centered around the man that killed him and the man that failed him.#jason todd#the joker#red hood#c: red hood: the lost days | i: 6#crypt's panels#lost days#covers

Red Hood au where Jason has amnesia (thanks to being beaten upside the head before being blown up), but still wants to do his insane revenge plan against Batman. He has no idea why he's beefing with this random ass dude. He just knows he has unresolved daddy issues and pointed it at the most dramatic looking bitch on the East Coast

If your sibling is a rogue then make the best of it
I would like to think that Jason is very Hondo Onakha about kidnapping, very dramatic, fairly polite/chill to the one he kidnapped, minimal trauma, very professional overall but also very theatrical. Out of anyone in Gotham to have as your kidnapper, Jason aka the Red Hood is by far the very best person.
ALL of Jason's family whether they be legal, biological, emotional, or honorary, will absolutely try to convince Jason to kidnap them to get them out of some stupid civilian event. Whether or not Jason will go along with it will depend on several factors such as:
Does this benefit Bruce and get him out of a boring civilian event too? Then so sorry, you're just going to have to suffer!
How busy is Jason at the moment? Because being a drug lord and vigilante is actually pretty time consuming and kidnapping can be a lot of work for potentially very little gain.
What does Jason get out of it? Yes money is all well and good but Jason is rich by his own merits and can just steal from Bruce whenever, there's got to be more to it!
When is the last time Jason has kidnapped this sibling? He can't do it too often or it gets less effective. He has a reputation to maintain after all!
It may also depend on which sib is asking and what they need to be "saved" from.
Dick asks to be kidnapped from a bachelor auction charity? Ha! No chance, sorry Dickie! He will be there though and take pictures and laugh. (And also join all the other siblings who are stalking Dick and the winner of the auction in the event the winner wasn't one of the Bats or an invited member of the JL or Titans using Bruce's money) Dick asking to be kidnapped from a gala or some opening night of trendy place he's at to maintain civilian status? Maybe but the bribe has to be considerable. And it cannot benefit Bruce. Dick's normal bribes consist of taking some tedious part of an investigation over for Jason or getting intel from JL databases for Jason and the Outlaws.
Cass? Anytime and always, favorite sister who can beat him up has special kidnapping privileges, though they did stop for a very long time when some weirdos put out the theory that the Red Hood was in love with Gotham's Princess. (idk if Cass is considered Gotham's Princess in any version of canon but she is to me) Cass does still repay Jason in the form of Black Bat keeping an eye on Jason's territory when he's out of Gotham for any significant length of time.
Tim? He does owe the kid for several incidents and Tim normally doesn't abusive the privilege so he'd probably do it but there does have to be some sort of bribe for appearances sake. Tim usually gets Jason to agree in exchange for pictures of Batman tripping over his cape or in some other ridiculous position. Bonus in Jason's mind if Tim requests a kidnapping when Bruce is off world or otherwise occupied, therefore giving Brucie Wayne's reputation a hit. However if Tim wants to be kidnapped from something where Bruce is also suffering as Brucie, Tim is SOL (Tim might get revenge by getting Kon to wear Red Hood gear and "kidnap" Tim from the event if Jason refused. Kon will do it because Tim asked and also I would like to think that Kon isn't too fond of the guy who beat his best friend/boyfriend nearly to death and will mess with him if given the chance) Since kidnapping normally interferes with things that Tim wants to do however, he may instead bribe Jason to not kidnap a sibling that has asked to be kidnapped. Jason usually obliges this no kidnapping request.
Barbara? Sorry, no, he doesn't want to stress the Commissioner like that. He will, however, kidnap other people for her if she asks.
Stephanie? No Stephanie, he doesn't care what you offer, he's not kidnapping you so you can avoid your finals! Stephanie has, however, worn various wigs and been various hostages who died at the hands of the Hood in order to maintain his reputation. She gets paid in baked goods for her service.
Damian? Damian considered the idea ridiculous and proclaimed he'd never stoop so low and he would carry out his duties no matter how onerous! Damian then had to go to a Gotham gala. Damian is trying very hard to figure out a suitable bribe to get the Red Hood to kidnap him often enough that Bruce will be forced to keep Damian away from galas because of the ongoing security threat. So far it hasn't worked because Damian is very bad at bribing Jason, Jason thinks Damian forced to interact with normal people is funny, and Tim is successfully bribing Jason to ignore Damian's bribery attempts. The Red Hood has "kidnapped" Damian once, as a treat, when he thought the kid was looking particularly down about something.
Duke? Duke has yet to be made to attend any society gatherings as the solo Wayne (normally that falls to Bruce, Dick, or Tim) and can usually be spotted hanging out with Cass by the snack table at any gala or trendy event. He's not at Cass's level of reading body language but he's pretty darn good and he and Cass have reached a new level of being able to avoid annoying rich people while at parties. Duke is Cass's favorite gala buddy. Duke hasn't felt the need to ask Jason to kidnap him yet but Jason will allow the first one to be free of charge, no questions asked. After that Duke hasn't figured out suitable bribes for Jason but has realized that all of his siblings are hyper competitive and that Jason would absolutely wager a kidnapping in a competition or for a bet.
Alfred? If Alfred asked then Jason would without any caveat. Alfred will not ask however but might ask on behalf of someone else and Jason will comply.
Bruce? Jason just laughs. And if someone else is planning on kidnapping Brucie Wayne from a particularly boring business meeting or gala? Jason will actively thwart the kidnapping to force Bruce to continue to deal with social activity.
Jason usually splits a portion of the ransom money into bonuses for his goons since their original job outline is drug dealer/enforcer/mobster and not kidnapper. If they're going to get major felonies on their records, better make it financially worth it. All of Jason's goons are masked during any kidnapping event. The rest of the ransom money goes towards a charity of Jason's choosing.
Jason has also kidnapped people who are not his family or family adjacent. Barbara thought her dad could use a vacation at one point but he didn't have the PTO for it so Barbara had the Red Hood kidnap him. James Gordon experienced the weirdest kidnapping of his life that included some of the best food he'd ever eaten, an extremely soft bed, his pile of books that were on his reading list, and access to the sports games he'd meant to watch. The ransom was successfully paid after he had a week to relax. Gordon was then, as per protocol, allowed time to relax after his "harrowing" event. Barbara forced him to take the time. Strangely enough, some politicians who had been giving the Commissioner a hard time were suddenly very quiet when James Gordon came back, well rested, well fed, and ready to get back to the grind. It, of course, had nothing to do with the very polite emails with pictures attached that they all received while the Commissioner was very publicly out of the way.
Oliver Queen, when he was visiting Gotham, was kidnapped by the Red Hood. He was released after the ransom was paid and specifically he was released back in Star City. Mr. Queen was unavailable for comment after the incident but some sources say that he was cursing bats for some reason.
Lois Lane found herself kidnapped by Red Hood and ransomed by the Daily Planet while Superman was off world. Lois Lane returned safely to Metropolis and published a shocking expose on Luthor's latest scheme. Her sources for the article remain a secret.
Bruce is very grumpy about the whole thing, not just because Jason won't help his poor father get out of the stupid social event, but also because Jason being technically a rogue like this makes it very hard for him to successfully argue that Jason should let himself regain legal living status.

Rocker Stevie
Might be part one.
Diane: So let's set the scene, it's 1988, you're newly 21. You are top of the charts bubblegum pop princess Stevie Hendrix. You're married to top selling actor Tommy Hagan known for his action films and beach body. You just won two Grammys that year, and then, what happened?
Stevie: So, like you said. I was newly 21, I married my highschool sweetheart who'd reached stardom right alongside me as an actor instead of in music, which, honestly Diane, thank God for that. The man has no idea how to hold a tune, he'd likely make a dying cat sound like a siren. Laugh No, really! It's that bad! Anyway, I was fresh off my latest tour for Rainbows and Leather and came home to see my darling husband. I was so excited I'd been missing him, you know. Well, I walked into the house and what did I find? My husband, in bed butt naked with my Best friend and his personal assistant at my behest, Carol Perkins. To tell you the fallout from that was anything less than apocalyptic would be selling it short.
Diane: So after the absolutely dramatic divorce, you decided to change genres? Why Rock?
Stevie: Rock spoke to my soul, I wrote ‘I wanna ghost myself’ one night drunk on apple spritzers with my sister Robin, and her best friend Eddie. They'd been in my corner from the start, but Eddie and I always nipped at each other about our music tastes, then that night he picked up his guitar and started playing and ‘I wanna ghost myself' just flowed out. I was laid out on the floor by the ending between lighter and tears, and just felt so free. So like myself. And that was it, Stevie hung up her rainbows and sunshine and embraced her chaos and revenge.
Diane: So where did the lyrics 'think I'll take my heart and throw it off a cliff, yeah I have a feeling that it won't be missed” come from?
Stevie: You have to understand, I was devastated by what Tommy did. I had only ever been with him to that point in my life, he'd made me believe he was the only one for me. That without him my life would feel meaningless because up to that point every moment together he showered me in affection and praise. He was the ideal husband on the surface, and then I found out he'd been having an affair with Carol for literal years. Everyone knew except for me, and I was crushed. ‘Think I'll take my heart and throw it off a cliff’ was me almost literally saying my heart is broken and I don't want to feel anymore. I became wild and lost myself to the music. Eddie wrapped me in leather and lace and asked me to be the front woman for his band. I was shocked, because honestly was I going to make it delving into a whole new genre? I'd already come to the end of my contract with Upside Down records, so I wasn't concerned about what my team thought. However, my fan base? Would they still love me the same, would I make it? I was scared, and then we had our first show. It was small, and it was a test for me to see if I could do this. The world caught fire for me that night, and I never looked back.
Diane: So let's fast forward, finally Devil's Prey became a household name, and Stevie Hendrix was a sensation. What happened the night of the music awards, in your own words.
Stevie: So, for years I'd gone by Stevie Hendrix so no one would know who I was. It was mid set for ‘Bulletproof’ and as I turned the lights cut out and a picture lit up the screen. It was a photo of me on my wedding day, my eyes crossed out and ‘Stefania Harrington the Whore’ written across my body as I stood between Tommy, his old friend Billy, and Jason Carver. I screamed, and looked back at the audience just as Eddie tackled me to the ground and a shot whipped past my head.
Diane: So Eddie Munson saved you that day?
Stevie: Yes, he did. He held me while I sobbed in the green room. I never knew someone could be so hateful just because my songs brought what they'd done to light, but there I was running for my life while the security detail searched for the gunman. Eddie was furious, he held onto me and told me we were going to my place with his security, to pack up my things and come to his. See, Eddie lived in a damn near impenetrable home, there was no way anyone could get to me there. Of course I wanted to fight him on it, but I'm just a girl at the end of the day, and Eddie Munson has an energy you just don't fight when it's directed at you.
Diane: So you moved in that night?
Stevie: Yes. Eddie was my shadow for days, I barely could use the restroom without him following me around. It was aggravating at times, but I saw how scared he was when he wasn't in the spot he could see me.
Diane: He was traumatized.
Stevie: He was traumatized and he was ready to follow me to hell if he needed just to make sure I was safe. I never knew what love was until I was met with the force of Eddie Munson’s protection. He woke my dead heart up again, and I was doomed from the start.
Diane: So eventually the agents you had investigating the shooting found out who shot that gun, and who hired him.
Stevie: I need a minute before we talk about this. Let me just grab a water and ask Eddie to come sit with me.
Diane: Take your time.
Stevie and Eddie walk back in, they're holding hands and Eddie is murmuring to Stevie who's looking like she may just pass out from nerves. She squeezes Eddie's hand and takes a seat, Eddie sits beside her his fingers laced with hers.
Stevie: Okay, I'm ready. Breathes in deeply So Jim Hopper was the head agent on the investigative team. He had become something like a father figure to Robin and I over the years after my parents’ accident. When Jim came into Eddie's house his face was drawn, and I knew then that the people who had attacked me knew me. He sat me down and told me as gently as possible that Tommy had asked Billy to do the job. He was furious at my songs, and apparently the fan base put two and two together and his career began to tank. People were boycotting his movies. I didn't know, I swear, I just wanted my freedom and an outlet for all my pain. I deserve to have that without someone threatening me, you know? Tommy had hired Jason who was in tech support to upload the photo in the middle of our set. It was this whole plot. Make me pay in the most public way possible.
Eddie: I wanted to rip them apart. Stevie was distraught, she is such a good person. And if I could take her pain away I would, happily.
Stevie: I know you would, but you going to prison wouldn't have helped me. I need you here Eddie.
Eddie: I'm not leaving, not ever.
Stevie: So the trial came and went. They'd found loads of evidence in Tommy's apartment, through the baking records, phone records. I mean they pretty much wrote out in neon lights that they planned to kill me. Laughs incredulously All because Tommy couldn't handle the consequences of being a shitty husband?
Eddie: He never deserved you, Stevie.
Stevie: blushes and ducks her head Oh hush you big sap.
Diane: So the bad guys are caught, you're safe now, what does the future hold for Stevie Hendrix?
Stevie: More Rock and Roll obviously, but therapy to deal with the trauma. Mandatory family nights. Just things to help me feel back to myself.
Eddie: Hopefully a wedding soon, too. That is if you say yes. Eddie Munson sank to one knee reaching into his pocket and pulling out a ring. Stevie stared at him, her eyes glassy before grabbing him by his curls and kissing him, she giggled a yes, and he slipped the ring on her finger. She said yes!
Stevie: I said yes. I love you Eddie Munson.
Diane: I'm so happy for you both!
Eddie: I love you Stevie Hendrix, I can't wait to be Mr. Hendrix!
Diane: Well, It was lovely sitting with you for this interview. Thank you for agreeing to be on my show, and I can't wait to see the wedding photos one day.
Stevie: See the photos? Diane, you're invited to the wedding!
Diane: Oh wow! I'd be honored.
Stevie and Eddie stood and walked off the stage where Robin stood, her face lit in a blinding grin, she embraced her sister letting out a laugh and they both turned to wave to Diane who smiled and waved back. The show was over, but Stevie’s life was only just beginning.

PJO x Batman(Batfam)
Alfred Pennyworth: Alright, first things first. This man would be Chiron. In a heartbeat. At first I was thinking Dionysus, but Bruce fits more with Dionysus. He's reliable, considerate, and lends a helping hand if the kids ever need it. Also a horse bottom half would be fucking awesome. Alfred could kick so much butt.
Bruce Wayne: Dionysus. He is camp counselor. He is the dramatic one. He would fuck with the kids by saying he's their father, just so they could get him whatever he wanted. He holds no malicious intent behind this, and only wants to mess around with them. He will apologize if it hurts some of the kids. AND he is a dramatic emo. Case in point.
Dick Grayson: When I think ab him the first thing I see in my mind's eye is acrobat. Responsible older brother, dutiful, chaotic. At first I was thinking Athena, but THEN I was like wait- someone else is Athena's son. Not that Athena can't have two sons but it don't fit. He's Apollo's son. Ball of sunshine, can hold a wicked good tune, and kicks ass. A punch you least expect from someone who is so nice and kind.
Helena Wayne: Her dad is literally Dionysus, so people underestimate her. She's seen as the party girl, the rich spoiled kid who can't defend herself. Then next thing you know you're in the infirmary because she knocked you out. She is a theater kid like her dad, and tends to instill madness into those that go against her, sort of driving them insane. If they don't get medical attention right away. It pisses people off when she plays the part of a helpless rich girl and then suddenly has a powerful punch. But she is a good contender for Artemis.
Barbara Gordon: How can she not be Hermes daughter? She has the brains and the wits, but is in the background feeding all the Bats information. She keeps things running and helps Bruce not burn something to the ground, also helps Alfred keep his sanity. Technically, she could be considered camp counselor with how well things are run under her guidance and advice. She may have all the information, but only gives certain bits out for free. She also has hella blackmail on her family if they ever decide to cross her.
Jason Todd: Hella Ares vibes at first, but beneath that this man has strategy. Don't let his blind hatred for Joker fool you, he knows he has to understand a battle first and foremost. His loathing for Joker only gets in the way with clown related things, but he truly is Athena's son. He's well read and observes a battlefield, pointing out many vantage points so he can stay out of line of sight until the perfect moment.
Kate Kane: Artemis' daughter. She hunts down her enemies, and sticks to hiding in plain sight. She may not use a bow, but she has other ways to hunt her target without one. Quiet and strong, able to keep herself hidden until she can properly attack.
Tim Drake: Athena's son, like Jason. He's known as the one who comes up with the plans and often gets the others in the family to excecute him. He's the brainiac. It's known at a young age he found out who Batman and Robin were. He looked up to Batman. He followed Batman. He used detective skills to figure things out that adults hadn't even tired to. He's the mastermind. No, Babs is.
Turner Hayes: Aphrodite's son. He's pretty and uses that to his advantage. Others think he's the spoiled adopted son of Bruce Wayne, but he is nothing like what the media says about him. Regardless of how he may look he is rather cunning and smart, but it's hidden beneath a pretty face. The police didn't believe he was doing detective work because he didn't look like someone who would be able to do that, and they were wrong.
Stephanie Brown: Steph is trying to prove herself. She may not be seeking revenge, but she believes that she needs to prove herself in delivering justice like the rest of her family. Nemsis' daughter. She believes in doing the right thing, even if the right thing at that moment seems like the worst thing someone could do.
Harper Row: Nemesis' daughter. She doesn't feel right living in a world where there are bullies around. Harper wants to take down as many bad guys as she can to keep the streets safe for Gothamites. She seeks retribution and vengeance, trying to save others much like she saved her own brother. Her brother Cullen, is who drives her forward.
Cassandra Caine: Her strength is seeing things that others cannot, i.e. body language. Hypnos' daughter. Cass can read a room and understand immediately what is going on. Her sight is her power. She was taught to be an assassin that looks but never speaks. Able to use that to her advantage to get a one up on those she is fighting or going against.
Damian Wayne Al-Ghoul: Son of Nike(and Dionysus). His goal is victory, in anything. He trains hard and strives to be the best at what he does, Damian does not take second place. He believes he can only achieve something if he is the best and most powerful at it. That is why he stays in the Nike cabin to train and hone his skills. (Even if he has a bed at Dionysus cabin.) He doesn't tell people a lot, but he goes over to sleep in his dads cabin. Once in a while. The old man would think he was getting soft if Damian ever told him that.

It's official, Nant is gone... I feel kind of sad that we only ever saw him in other people's memories. We never got a chance to meet the real Nant ;;
Also Nont's scream actually really got to me ugh (kudos to Dech for his good acting)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We continue with the drama: Tutor (aka pretty boy with the long eyelashes) promises he'll get revenge on Porche for that leaked sex tape! A reporter spying on every move he makes might not be the best thing for Porche, that boy has a lot to hide...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even more drama 😥
Keen confronts Captain about the secretly recorded sex clips. I'm not sure if their relationship can survive this tbh Keen looks like he's seriously pissed off. Captain should probably be glad he didn't get a taste of that fist like Prom did earlier...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No one is happy today ah... Aob is still angry (disappointed, sad, overwhelmed?) at Puen for lying about... I'm not sure actually. About being a virgin? About having other sexual relationships outside of his job? Anyway, Aob is pissy!
Tumblr media
(Yes I'm using this as an excuse to post his big tiddies and stomach/bulge. The man is pretty, ok? Don't judge me XD)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, Aob is not going to take that present (food?). Right off into the bin it goes~ Puen will have to try a lot harder!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, darling... What did you do to those poor guys? If someone who's got a lot of experience with sex and weird creepy clients quits after an encounter with you and if it's not just that one guy, but several, you might want to tone it down a bit...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soong?
SOONG?! Don't tell me he's going to work for daddy Jason again? He can't do that! That man is dangerous!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some more sad boy hours 😭
(why is my man Teena the only one who's calm and not dramatic at all?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good night, sweet prince, And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

Tim cried heavily into Jason's shoulder, and the older failed Robin drew him closer into his chest. His arms gripped tighter around the younger boy, a useless shield and armour against the harsh reality of the world about them.
Tim heaved and shuddered and shook and fought and squirmed and raged against it all. Tim cried hysterical tears into Jason's arms as his own body shook and tried to shut down from the trauma he had endured. The abuse to his arms, legs, torso and face.
The electric shocks.
The bleaching dip in the vat.
Bruce hadn't even realised that he'd been gone until after a week, and he'd not found him even after five. He'd not saved Tim despite his early promises.
But Jason...Jason had.
He wasn't Dick, who'd captivated Tim with acrobatics and aerial prowess. Or Barbara with her smarts and guile.
No, the person who'd managed to save him from the Clown had been the person Tim had replaced. The other boy that Robin had given flight and magic to. The other boy that Robin had given purpose to. And now, Tim had given Jason purpose to put all his plans of dramatic revenge to the wayside and just fill the monster full of lead before chopping the fucker's head off with a makeshift machete.
And here, in the squalid apartment in the Bowery, Tim clutched hard to the chest of the Red Hood, who had thrown away his helmet and pulled the young teen into his arms and had cried into Tim's own shoulder with apologies.
"I couldn't let another kid die in those colours." Jason had whimpered. "You're safe here Tim, you'll always have a safe place here with me."
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." Tim repeated back. Even as the mantra pulled against the stitches Jason had hastily sewn into his checks after he'd seen what Joker had done.
"You're my little brother now Tim. I won't let Him hurt you again." Jason promised. "I won't let any of them hurt you again, not Joker, not Bruce, not anyone."
Tim hugged the older boy back. He'd always wanted an older brother. And for the first time in the weeks that he'd been a hostage of the Joker, Tim could feel the specter of JJ retreating. For the first time, he almost felt safe.

Back on my half-baked “Danny Phantom adopts Jason Todd” nonsense [Original post  x] with more detail:
Danny raising baby ghost Jason for however long Jason’s been dead. Jason basically yoinks out of Ghost Zone existence and Danny thinks he moved on or whatever have yous.
Danny’s reluctantly accepting of the fact, but he really liked the kid [or whatever the remnants of him were], so there’s a lot of sad times :( :( :(
Until Jay is being dunked in the pool in what we DCxDP fans collectively agree is corrupted/dead/impure ectoplasm.
All powerful being of the Infinite Realms that Danny is, immediately notices the return of his little ghostly fledgling and snatches him.
And just....never gives him back.
Talia and whatever other league members that were there just waiting for Jason to resurface and then just kinda stand there dumbfounded when it becomes clear to them that it ain’t happening
“......Welp, time for plan G-2.0″
Danny realizes he got a very amnesiatic, pissy LP corrupted baby back and decides it's time for some extensive therapy....and a purifying bath, cause his little Jay smells like rot.
Jason obviously ain't gung-ho about paternal figures and is very gung-ho about his revenge plans, but he obviously has no idea how to get out of the GZ so he’s kinda a lowkey prisoner for a while there.
The baths are nice.
The purifying is a long multi-session type thing, so Danny takes that time to just hammer it into Jason’s head “Hey, your plans for the morally corrupt are all fine and dandy, but maybe don’t go around hurting innocent people just cause you got a massive chip on your shoulder”
Danny basically makes it clear that Jason is still technically under his jurisdiction and he will kick his ass if he strays from the path of righteousness.
A robin is saved that day
See Bats? Danny ain’t a complete enabler
It takes months before Danny thinks Jason is clearheaded enough to go out into the world and start leaving his bloody prints. If he assigns some shadows to keep an eye on Jay in a fit of over-protectiveness, well then that’s his business
If he winds up staying around ClockWork’s tower to watch Jason kick ass and take heads like a proud parent watching his kid’s soccer game, well that’s his business too.
Shut up, ClockWork
Cue aforementioned scandal with the Joker. [After what I decided was a terrifying session of Joker getting tortured by the souls of his more angrier victims “That’s just a taste of what’s waiting for you on the other side >:)”]
Pure ectoplasm has a weird calming affect on the LP infected, so while reminding Jason that he has a purifying session next month, Danny gives him Cujo as a substitute in the mean time.
“He’ll be there to protect you, keep you company, keep you clearheaded. He obviously doesn’t need to be fed or taken out to do his business - you know the deal. Also just so you know, if these bats give you any trouble, Cujo will get you out of that mess.”
Danny says this, all while giving Batman that too wide, sharp-toothed grin
He spends a few minutes saying goodbye to Jason like he’s sending him off to school or smth.
Jason is lowkey embarrassed and maybe viciously gleeful at how awkward it’s making Batman.
Danny bids farewell like this was just another day of world saving, and not him basically telling Bruce he’s ain’t giving Jason back so easily before leaving in the same bone-chilling display as when he came in [ala Eldritch horror lookin, souls of the damned swarming him like a gruesome looking cloak, light fixtures flickering ala horror movie, with deranged whispers of what might have been him saying See you again soon]
Robin may have gotten the promise that Jason wouldn't go after his ass, but he sure knows he ain’t sleeping tonight.
The others still feel the chills.
Jason remains unbothered “That’s just him being dramatic, he wanted to scare the shit out of you.”
And just leaves with his new dog.
They don’t get to follow.
Cujo doesn’t let them.
So Jason proceeds to go about his business becoming a crime lord with his loyal and protective two-faced hound from hell in tow.
The criminals are qaukin’ in their boots.
Batman is unbothered cause he’s still distracted by the fact of being in a custody battle with the fucking Ghost King
He is very much considering using his contingency plans for Phantom.
Superman won't let him.

My dramatic scene essay analysis of Black Christmas 2006
(CW/TW: Pretty much the entirety of Billy’s tragic backstory is talked about, which has the topics of i*cest/CSA in it. Please read at your own risk, you are very cared about and I don’t want you to ever feel upset. 💗)
Back of somewhere in the end of June, I got back into the slashers fandom. I reunited with my love for Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, etc.
I rewatched old scenes, fell back into slasher tumblr, and felt extreme disappointment watching dead meat’s review of Halloween kills for the first time and reading the wiki for Halloween ends now then knowing my favorite franchise was ruined yet again. Somehow worse than curse and resurrection.
But soon, I got tired and wanted to scout out horror movies I haven’t heard/seen of yet. That’s how I was introduced to Black Christmas, which I’m pretty sure is the original slasher.
I watched dead meats video on the 2006 one because at the time I didn’t have any access to watching the movie, and I watched the scenes in there entirety on YouTube.
I really enjoyed the original one when I watched it on fully YouTube. It was interesting and even made me laugh a bunch.
But when I was watching all the scenes of the remake, one of the scenes stuck out to me. The scene that made me have a attachment to the remake.
The entire scene of Billy taking revenge on his mother and step father.
It spoke to me in a way only few horror scenes did. It stuck out to me over every other scene of black Christmas 1974. That’s not to bash the original, but, it’s the truth.
I wanted to make an essay analysis of the scene because I believe it’s one of the most cathartic and justice inducing scenes in horror. This scene deserves more recognition, and I just hope you all will hear me out about it.
Also, just me giving props to Robert Mann’s performance because I honestly think he did amazing at making me feel emotional.
I apologize if you all find this cringe/dramatic/ overthinking, but it’s just how I feel.
also if I somehow make you feel even more sympathy for 2006 billy that’s all I could truly ask for.
Let’s get started:
The scene starts out in 1991.
Billy was 21 years old at this time. A fully fledged adult who hasn’t been outside in the world for 16 whole years. Most likely never even getting an education.
The 21 year old finds a Christmas present in his room, a telescope given to him by his mother and step father.
He reads the note that’s attached to it, and in it reads the passive aggressive writing of his mother:
“Be good for goodness sake!”
This man has been through hell in back thanks to this woman. She took everything from him.
She took away his childhood. She took away his father, the only person that could’ve protected him from her. She took away his freedom, then took away his innocence. He had nothing but himself alone in the attic for 16 years thanks to her.
Never being able to experience anything. Not love, not friendship, not anything.
Getting that letter was the salt in the wound.
After everything she’s done to him, she still finds any way to kick him like a dying dog.
He slams his hands on the telescope just to take out his boiling anger on something, anything. His anger against the world, his mother, his stepfather. And also most likely has his own anger towards Christmas itself. Probably frustrated and confused on why this all happened to him. What did he do to deserve this?
He watches the next door neighbors quietly at his small window with the telescope. He watches happy families living peacefully together. Gifting things to each other, embracing one another, actions towards one another that aren’t inflicting abuse. A daughter hugging her father right in front of his eyes.
It’s a wonder if his mom did this on purpose. Giving him that specific present just to remind him he could never leave and that he’ll never have a happy moment again like that family was having. He’ll be forced to watch on the sidelines as a happy family celebrate Christmas together in the cold attic with the mean spirited gift his mom gave him. In general, He’ll never have a happy family. The present had to be some stupid inside joke for his mother and step father.
The way Robert Mann’s opens his eyes in this scene and the camera moving closer speaks volumes to me. Billy realizing he can’t live like this anymore. Billy realizing what he needs to do.
His mother meanwhile is downstairs gifting a baby doll to his sister-daughter. Treating her better than she ever did billy.
Then, when he tricks her into leaving, he goes to attack poor Agnes. I can see him having multiple reasons of attacking her. Wanting to take something from his mom the way she took everything from him, wanting to get revenge on Agnes even though she didn’t ask for this either but jealously and pain blinding him, and probably wanting to rid the person that is a reminder of the disgusting thing his mother did to him as a child.
As his mom and stepfather run late to stop him, he rubs salt in THEIR wound by disgustingly eating Agnes’s eye in front of them. Then when his step father attempts to attack him, Billy stabs straight through his eye, getting the revenge he’s saved for years to get on him after he also took away his dad.
And as his mom cries at the consequences of her own actions, Billy lunges at her and chokes her with the Christmas lights. He slowly kills her, giving her all the pain she instilled in him for so many years back.
But it doesn’t stop there. She doesn’t deserve for it to stop there. She doesn’t deserve to at least have a preserved body after everything she has done to him. Did his father get his body preserved by her and his step father? Nope. Why should she?
So, what comes next really wraps the neat little bow on this scene for me.
In the next sequence, Billy drags her limp ass to the kitchen with the Christmas lights like it’s a leash for a dog, quickly grabs a rolling pin, and starts beating the ever loving shit out of his mom’s body.
The way he does it is like he’s been waiting to do this his whole life. And he probably has.
He takes his sweet time too. He clocks her with each hit getting more and more aggressive. The hits hold so much emotion in them. The way billy seemed to be unleashing his trauma with every swing is done so perfectly I seriously have to give Robert Mann a round of applause of it. And the way his facial expression is like focusness mixed with unadulterated rage is perfect to me.
It’s like his boiling anger has flooded over. The way he portrayed billy in this whole scene I almost have no words. It just hits me deep every single time.
Billy then finishes out this, in my opinion, amazing scene by turning his mothers flesh into fucking cookies. What an ending.
Then he eats them alone in silence as the police arrive.
When we find out he got put into a sanitarium, it kinda broke my heart.
I mean, he obviously needs to get help, I understand that, but it made me so sad that this kid who has been locked in an attic for 16 long years had escaped and killed his abusers, only to be thrown back into isolation after.
Broke my heart. And poor Agnes too. That girl never asked for any of this and suffered for her mother’s actions.
So yeah, that scene is great to me. And it deserves more recognition.
As a person who has suffers from abuse, that anger he portrayed makes me tear up a bit. I related hard to wanting to get revenge on the people who have hurt me. Obviously not to that degree but you get my point. I can see how desperately Billy wanted to.
I feel like 2006 billy has more depth than people think.
Personally I think the flashbacks are the best part of the movie. If it was up to me I would’ve wanted them to make a backstory movie about billy instead of remaking it but that’s another story.
Side note about something, why the FUCK did Melissa ask: “Did they ever find out from him why he killed his family?”
Girl did you LISTEN to any of the stories these characters were telling you about him? The part where he was locked up for years, the part where his mom and step dad killed his father, the part where he out of his control had a inbred child?! Or are none of those good enough reasons to kill his “family”? 💀
Anyways, Thank you all for reading!
Also Robert Mann please act in more movies!
Oh and for the people who wanted to be tagged :)
@kiki-dohedo
@downtowncannibal
thank you all for the support on the Black Christmas post!!!

The BatFam as Reputation Tracks
In anticipation of the re-recording of Taylor’s best (controversial opinion I know) album, here’s my take on which Reputation track would the bird/bat/cat anthems.
…Ready For It? - Stephanie Brown
A dramatic start to the album.
“Are you ready for it?” In Taylor’s smug tone is so Stephanie Brown coded.
“No one has to know, in the middle of the night, in my dreams, you should see the things we do” you can’t convince me that Steph doesn’t love kicking ass and being a badass hero, to the point of dreaming about her alter ego.
“Are you ready for it? Oh are you ready for it? Let the games begin, let the games begin.” Is such a cocky way for Steph to hype herself up to go out on patrol and cause some chaotic messes within Gotham.
I Did Something Bad - Damian Wayne
Okay seems obvious, being an ex assassin and all but hear me out.
“I don’t regret it one bit because he had it coming” feels like something Damian would absolutely use against Bruce to validate making a hard decision within the field, but also as an excuse for threatening to stab Tim for touching his sword.
“You gotta leave before you get left. I can feeling the flames on my skin, he says ‘don’t throw away a good thing’” feels like an instance where Damian’s abandonment issues and insecurities and self-doubt would kick in and he’d try to run away from the Manor. Dick would catch him trying to sneak out, leant back against the living room’s door with a raised brow and a brotherly expression. Of course Dick would tell him not to throw away his chance at a real family, one that loves him, and would help him seek the redemption Damian wanted.
“They say I did something bad, then why’s it feel so good?” Could refer to later when Damian starts to settle within the family, rethinking the ways he had been taught by Talia to see attachments as weakness. How could they be something bad if they brought him joy and love.
Don’t Blame Me - Bruce Wayne
The OG drama queen to the family has to get a dramatic song. This whole song represents the alter ego of Batman as a whole and you can’t convince me otherwise
“Don’t blame me, love made me crazy” his love for his parents, and his loss of them, made him just crazy enough to start dressing up as a bat and beating up bad guys.
“Just play things for me to use” could refer to his playboy behaviours but it could also refer to his cat and mouse game he plays with his villains too.
“My name is whatever you decide, and I’m just gonna call you mine” applies both to his relationship with Selina Kyle, but also his relationship to Gotham as a whole. He’s fine to be called whatever they want to, but that was his city and he will continue to protect it.
“Echoes of your name inside my mind. Halo, hiding my obsession” Bruce hides behind the Batman mantle, using the inherit goodness of it to further his obsession with the Joker and his need for revenge.
Delicate - Selina Kyle
Something about this song literally gives slinky catsuit vibes, I can’t describe why. A secret relationship due to reputations and alter ego? Sounds familiar.
“My reputation’s never been worse, so you must like me for me” Bruce saw more than just the cat burglar Selina started out as, seeing past her actions.
“We can’t make any promises, now can we babe. But you can make me a drink” is so Bruce and Selina coded it’s almost insane. They couldn’t exactly take their relationship very far due to their polar opposite alter egos’ morals. But Bruce could make her a drink.
“Echoes of your footsteps on the stairs. Stay here, honey, I don’t want to share. ‘Cause I like you” Bruce was a playboy, Selina knew that. But she really did like the billionaire underneath it all. And she wasn’t the type to share her play toys anyways.
Look What You Made Me Do - Jason Todd
I know it was obvious but I could really see Jason listening to this song as his pre-hype for patrol, loving the drama of it deep down. Every verse in this applies to his life in one way or another, with “look what you made me do” being aimed at The Joker and the criminal and Bruce.
“I don’t like your little games, don’t like your tilted stage, the role you made me play of the fool…” would be spat with pure venom at the thought of the Joker and what he did to turn Jason into the Red Hood.
“I got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined. I check it once then I check it twice.” You can’t tell me that Jason doesn’t have his own list that he ticks off as he tackles the criminal underground. It would totally be the same shade of red as his helmet too, the drama queen.
“The world moves on, another day, another drama but not for me. Not for me. All I think about is karma and the world moves on, but one thing’s for sure; baby, I got mine but you’ll all get yours” is such a Red Hood verse. While everyone got over Jason’s death, moved onwards after the second Robin, Jason was still back there buried, resurrected, left feeling an immense amount of anger and resentment. Towards Bruce for replacing him. To The Joker for murdering him. To everyone who had wronged him at one point or another. But it was okay, because he was going to help them get the karma they deserved what they did. They would all get what was coming for them.
Dancing with Our Hands Tied - Cassandra Cain
Okay this one was so hard. Besides the obvious of Cass being a dancer [I literally can’t remember if this is cannon honestly], I think this song represents her background and her need to prove herself.
“Dancing with our hands tied” could refer to her pulling punches due to her background of being raised an assassin, trying not to go too far when she first became Batgirl.
“I’m a mess but I’m a mess that you wanted” Bruce saw her potential and aided her to do the good she wanted to do. He took her into his family voluntarily even though she had made mistakes within her past, and was raised to do bad.
“People started talking, putting us through our paces, I knew there was no one in the world who could take it, I had a bad feeling” could refer to people viewing her purely as a weapon versus Bruce’s idea that she could be more. It surely raised some self doubt within Cass that maybe she couldn’t be more than what she was born to be, maybe she would always be someone who hurt people.
There’s a quiet powerfulness to this song that I think represents Cass.
Dress - Dick Grayson
Arguably one of Taylor’s horniest songs, which seems suiting for Playboy 2.0. There’s an underlining romance to it which I feel represents Golden Boy, and is totally related to his relationship with Babs.
“Our secret moments in a crowded room, they’ve got no ideas about me and you” Bruce and Dick would attend galas and charity events and Wayne Enterprise events and nobody would know that the pair were vigilantes.
“My hands are shaking from holding back from you.” Is such a Dick Grayson move. You can’t tell me this man wouldn’t have the shakiest hands when it gets down to it.
“Everyone thinks that they know us, but they know nothing about…” His alter ego was secret, his relationship was secret. Everyone thought they knew Golden Boy Dick Grayson but they didn’t know past the flash suits and the charismatic smile. The scars, the trauma, the things hidden behind steady hands in public and shaky hands in private.
“Flashback to my mistakes, my rebounds, my earthquakes, even in my worst lies, you saw the truth in me” applies not only to Barbara, and Bruce, and his whole family really, but also to the city that loved Nightwing so much.
This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things - Tim Drake
I love this little gremlin, but you can’t tell me he doesn’t blast this after someone diverts from his plans while on missions. His plan or the pettiness that may ensue. Riddled with resentment (unconscious I’m sure) and pettiness, and it kinda feels like it was written while on a coffee high???
“So why’d you have to rain on my parade? I’m shaking my head and locking the gates” he would absolutely sulk in his room afterwards, finding Jason crashing into the mission a headache and a half since the Red Hood didn’t follow instructions.
“This is why we can’t have nice things” is such a mumbled response to anything to do with his family. Dick broke the chandelier trying to show off some acrobatic trick? Jason put bullet holes in all of Bruce’s suits? Damian and Titus let Batcow out to run awry within the Manor? Stephanie hacked his twitter? This is why we can’t have nice things.
“Here’s to my baby, he ain’t reading what they call me lately” is a huge shoutout to Bernard who ignored the articles on Red Robin being caught napping on the high rise of Wayne Enterprise.
Call It What You Want - Barbara Gordon
This song is all about coming back from the lowest point.
“My castle crumble overnight, I brought a knife to a gun fight” offft this song could be so representative of Babs after what occurred with the Joker. She went from Batgirl to being a victim again, a hard thing to settle into.
“All my flowers grew back as thorns, windows boarded up after the storm, he built a fire just to keep me warm” Dick was by her side through it all, waiting in the hospital at her bedside for her to wake up. And he stayed by her side, helping light hope within her again.
“I recall late November, holding my breath, slowly I said you don’t need to save me” The fire itself turning into her becoming Oracle, taking back her power and continuing to fight for what she knew was right.
New Year’s Day - Alfred Pennyworth
This song feels very sentimental to me. It reminds me of the love Alfred showed and held for the whole Batfam, even when they weren’t at their best and made mistakes. It reminds Alfred of his memories of all of them growing up, the moments that were sparkling and filled with joy.
“But I stay when you’re lost, and I’m scared that you’re turning away” Dick would still relay on Alfred for advice, showing up with his chipper grin and a store bought cake as if he had to repay Alfred for raising him. As if he needed to repay such a thing. And Alfred would give him full attention, weighing in as a father would to his second ward.
“I want your midnights” And Alfred never minded patching up Bruce after midnight, never questioned Cass taking up the kitchen table to eat cereal early into the morning.
“You squeezed my hand three times in the back of the taxi” Cass would still reach for Alfred’s hand when he dropped her at her dance recitals, squeezing tightly with her smile before leaving him to join the audience.
“Hold onto the memories and I will hold onto you.” Jason would miraculously show up in the Wayne Manor library one night, caught by Alfred who would sit with him into the early hours of the morning. Even in the silence, Alfred didn’t want Jason left wondering if he had a place within that house. He always did, no matter his mistakes.
“Please don’t ever become a stranger who laugh I could recognise anywhere.” Was something Alfred never wanted to happen to his family. While they might not all live within the Manor, he still encouraged them to return home. He loved that family more than he could put into words.
Special Mention
Getaway Car - Harley Quinn
This song is Harley’s emancipation anthem and you can’t convince me otherwise.
“I wanted to leave him, I needed a reason” The Batman gave her that reason, seeing how their cat and mouse game represented love to the Joker more than Harley’s affections ever did.
“Think about the place where you first met me.” Has a whole new meaning now.
“It was the great escape, the prison break. The light of freedom on my face, but you weren't thinkin' and I was just drinkin'. While he was runnin' after us, I was screamin', "Go, go, go!" But the three of us, honey, it’s a sideshow and the circus ain’t a love story” side eye. What was that about the Bats obsession with the Joker? Harley always saw it, she just didn’t know how deep it really went. Until he abandoned her to drown within their getaway car, being rescued by The Bat himself.
“Ridin' in a getaway car. I was cryin' in a getaway car. I was dyin' in a getaway car. Said goodbye in a getaway car.” Her love and affections for The Joker was her Getaway Car and she had finally said goodbye to it. She betrayed him to the Bat and switched sides, not quite a hero but no longer a villain.

Random thoughts about Playboyy the series ep 13:
I can't believe we are already at the 13th episode. I spent 13 weeks with these boys and watched their antics!
Again I thought things happened a bit too fast for my liking, but it's okay. I imagined they would face only terrible and tragic things, however, I believe the outcome is in their favour.
▪️Nont and Prom have a weird dynamic. I believe they kind of like role play a bit too much. Playing tragic lovers but ended up kissing and professing their love for each other. They are so dramatic. I still believe Prom is mostly a character who stands there and looks good (the expression in my first language sounds so much better than in English --") but their couple grew on me, thanks to their fans on this website.
▪️Nont is struggling with his latest decisions because he endangered several people close to him and Zouey (who never missed a change to rightly scold everyone) told him he can't consider them friends if he never really cares about their well being in his quest of truth and revenge. I don't like the preachy attitude of Zouey, but I can admit he is always good at making people ponder about what they are doing. He is the best therapist for most of these characters.
▪️Puen is alive and mostly well. Yeah! Last week, I was afraid he was dead. Now, Aob and him must hide from Jason Lee and they found shelter at the boys' house. First helped them settle. Again, I decided I'm not a fan of them individually but as a couple, I believe they are meant to be. I hope they will get the chance to be happy and free from Jason's wrath. Turns out, Aob never found Nant so all this torture from last week was for nothing.
▪️We still haven't learnt about the video Phop found on Nuth's computer. We just know it has something to do with Nant and it happened around the time he faked his death. Nuth wants to move on and be able to enjoy a quiet life with Phop. They are a couple I really like since their conversation about the struggles they face even inside their own community. I'm glad Nuth never decided to get full psycho on Phop as I feared several episodes ago. I need them to be able to leave their problems away and move on to another chapter of their lives. However, I don't like this last drug deal Nuth wants to do for Jason. It smells like bad news and terrible outcomes. Also, why does he not want to give the video to Nont? I want to see this video!
▪️Zouey was so suspicious in the previous episode, but we never got anything from it in this one. Is it going to happen in the last episode? Is he really hiding something? Apart from that I just can't stand him. I don't even have a good reason. I feel bad because I read many posts about him and what he is bringing to the story. The message he is sharing and how important it is. Unfortunately, his character is really unlikeable for me. He always sounds judgy to me.
▪️Porsche, Jump and Tutor worked together to help Jump be free of Jason by faking his death. I knew he couldn't be dead. I just didn't expect Tutor to help the couple because of the history he shared with them. Jump also insisted on the fact it would change nothing since he wants to only be with Porsche. I had to say bye-bye to my idea of them being a throuple. It would have been a very toxic throuple, but they would have made it, in my version of the story 😂. Nont also learnt about this and he now wants to team up with them to take down Jason. Nont is incapable of doing nothing. He is a very goal-driven person.
▪️Now let's talk about Keen. I understood he wanted to get back at Captain because of the videos and consequences. However, I don't get why he is still pretending to be in love with him? He got him expelled and Captain didn't suspect him to be behind it. He should just break up with him and move on. He told Captain he would still help me get to his dream of being a professional athlete... For what reason? Their couple is so dysfunctional. Will Captain learn the truth in the next episode or will he forever be in the dark? I can't see them being happy together after everything.
Next week we'll be the last episode. It's almost the end. 🥹

several days ago my brain did some calculations and beamed into my conscious thought "if third eye au tim is parallel to both cass and red hood Jason maybe he should have cotard's syndrome after shiva saves his life. he's self aware that it's an irrational delusion, but other than compartmentalisation and meditative techniques there isn't a lot he can do bc mental health care in the dcu is Real Bad"
(cotard's syndrome is a set of related delusions that the sufferer is dead/missing body parts/etc, sometimes called 'walking corpse syndrome')
its a thematically a blending of cass's death wish and Jason's "I died and came back" thing (since Jason doesn't die in this au so tim fulfills a symbolic parallel of his role as a ghost from batman past reminding him of how he failed them),
except rather than seeking death or revenge it turns inward (since Tim tends to live in his own head when stressed. a withdrawn tim is a struggling tim). like, he isn't seeking death. because on a subconscious level he's convinced he already died and is somehow still functioning. anf he's not going to put himself in dangerous situations because he thinks he deserves it, like cass, or seek revenge for his death like Jason. he's very high functioning. but it means he's also weirdly chill about the concept of dying and accepts that shiva is going to kill him some day and doesn't do a lot to avoid that future since internally it doesn't feel like a big deal.
but he definitely doesn't want to kill anybody ever again, consciously because a) his personal moral compass and b) to him his death and the act of killing zsasz are intrinsically linked. but also, on a subconscious level, being dead is terrible and he doesn't want to inflict it on another person.
it starts immediately after he wakes up from surviving the Very Traumatic Exsanguination where he absolutely would have died if it weren't for shiva's healing techniques and getting him a backalley blood transfusion (and possibly his heart gave out/had to be manually restarted for Symbolic Purposes), and is just. unobtrusively laying beneath every decision he makes going forward. it really doesn't help that death isn't a permanent condition in dc, and the more public resurrections there are the more he's like. well shit maybe this isn't such a Weird Situation.
this idea slowly permeated from the back of my head out into third eye canon
potentially, and I'm still trying to figure this one out, a version of the evil future titans plot happens but tim figures out in a private conversation with one of the evil future titans (via deduction from how they treat him as neither a potential threat nor potential ally) that in their future he's dead, and is just very chill about that concept even when he asks for more details and finds out that it'll be three months from now but none of them will be able to prevent it because none of them know the details. he just vanished, and later shiva admitted to having killed him.
so of course rather than start preparing a daring counter move (he already used up the poison gambit) he just gets his affairs in order and waits for shiva to contact him, and when she does vanishes into the night
except at this point in the timeline danny temple/krait is a reluctant teen titan member, tracks Tim down and interrupts the fight (a very bad idea! that is shivas least favourite thing!) but, unlike Tim, he has actually planned for how to prevent shiva killing his bestie/long time crush ever since he found out that she trains people in order to Duel with Them to The Death when they're at their peak prowess. so he manages to take a wounded Tim back to a secret kobra bunker and after some Dramatic Talk tim reveals the whole. 'doesn't really care about dying because he's felt dead since the day she saved him and every time he looks in the mirror all he sees is his own corpse staring back at him' thing. yes he knows it's irrational and delusional. of course he won't tell the other titans. he figured out the secret identities of half the justice league as a teenager and was trained by the world's deadliest martial artist, he cant let anybody know he's got Flaws or Instabilities bc then he'd become a potential threat (somewhere, batman feels a moment of strange validation over his paranoia towards his allies on the justice league. he shrugs and goes back to spying on green lanterns text messages)
after he finally accepts his condition may benefit from actual treatment he can go ~mad scientist~ and seemingly start secretly researching mind control/brainwashing technology but when the team confronts him it turns out he's just trying to treat his own mental health condition diy style bc he justifiably does not trust the psychiatric professionals of the dc universe. he gets a secret villain lab setup as a treat. as an enrichment activity. he and krait take apart stolen kobra technology to reverse engineer it together instead of going on normal dates

I see batfam age swap stuff all the time. Which is fine! It’s a fun thought experiment of “how would these characters and their interactions change if their ages were reversed”. And that’s good and fun and all
But I see a lot of the age swaps just. Slap Damian into the role of Nightwing, and then Tim into the role of Red Hood, and so on so forth. Which again, it’s your AU you can do with it as you want! But for me personally, it feels like an “easy solution” for age swap that undermines what makes each character themself
Like. With Damian as Robin then Nightwing. Damian wouldn’t be Robin if he were the first vigilante child Bruce adopts. Damian may still be a vigilante but he wouldn’t be Robin. Robin is a name that Dick chose to honor his parents; the color scheme is an homage to his family’s legacy. Damian doesn’t have that history; he wouldn’t have any reason to choose the name of Robin. He’s a child who was raised by assassins, who has been abused and hurt, who is angry and lethal and dangerous. He’s capable of kindness and love and hope and healing but he would probably choose a darker name. Shadow, Wraith, something as a nod to his history or something relating to Bats as a nod to him trying to turn over a new leaf. If Damian were the first kid, he would never have been Robin.
He could still potentially choose the name Nightwing for himself, seeing as Dick got the name from Superman, but he wouldn’t be the same Nightwing as Dick is. Damian wouldn’t use escrima, he wouldn’t be as acrobatic or sassy. He’d be more serious, he’d wield a sword, he’d be Damian, not Dick.
I could go on… like Tim wouldn’t be Red Hood. Red Hood is all about the drama, the suspense, the revenge. That’s not Tim’s style. He can be sassy and dramatic and angry and hold a grudge too, but his style is just dealing with the problem quickly. He wouldn’t stage a massive takeover of Gotham’s drug trade to build to a massive showdown of “it’s me or the joker, batman, you gotta choose-”. He’d just kill Joker himself. Tim can be extremely cool and calculated when he wants to be; he single handedly blew up League bases during his quest to save Bruce. If Tim were the second son and killed by Joker, he may still keep Batman at a distance, may be bitter about his death, may still be an anti hero, but he wouldn’t be the same Red Hood that Jason Todd is. Just like Jason Todd wouldn’t be the Red Robin Tim is. Heck, a Red Hood may not even exist in an age swap since Bruce would have had two other kids before him to learn how to parent, and Jason died because he ran off on his own to chase down his bio mother. Were Bruce to have gone with him, or Damian or Tim to have gone with him, he probably wouldn’t have died and been able to get out of the trap.
Anyway, tl;dr: i don’t love age swap au’s because it feels extremely ooc/unrealistic to just swap the batfam’s hero names and move on and that’s how most of the ones I’ve read have gone. But there’s a lot of potential for an age swap AU that is still faithful to each character’s individuality, backstory, and character growth

@exhausted-pigeon you taunted me now deal with the consequences.
I don't really have one interpretation of him, I have several.
Do you know that post that says that comics are a bit like ancient myths, and how a character may have many sides, depending of what story is being told? Yeah, this is mostly how I approach comics, with only one difference, comic characthers aren't immutable, so they can change and evolve.
You see, a comic book character exists beyond the pages, it exists on the popular imaginary, it exists on movie adaptations, tv series, animated series, games, and so on, and often those media interact with each other, see Harley Quinn, for example, who was created for the animated series but later was properly introduced to the comic universe. And why this is relevant, you might ask, because, well, the character doesn't exist as a hard and well defined character, it exists as several interpretations.
For me, as a fan and not a DC writer, is useless to find who is the Real Jason, he doesn't matter for me. Several writers have written and published their interpretation of Jason, and sometimes contradicting each other, so instead of trying to find a coherent narrative of who is Jason Todd I rather accept there are many, and then I play with them depending of the situation and the story I want to tell.
For me, there's the Angry Jason, the Jason who didn't forgive Bruce and never will. This Jason is more violent with his methods, more ruthless on the streets, he isn't afraid to face Batman or any other bat. He does what needs to be done, and has no intention of playing by any rules that not his own. He's unpleasant to be around, and more often than not the only thing he shares with the kid who died is the memories, because even the name Jason Todd is foreign to him.
I have the Broken Jason too. This Jason awoke in a world that moved on without him, and had nothing to cling on except his name and his memories. This Jason is angry too, but he's also hurt. He lashes out because that's the only way to make sure he's going to make a difference this time. His violence it's not because he wants to punish the world, he's violent because he's afraid of the clock ticking against him. He wants to make as much difference as he can before he dies again. He wants to accept the family back because he didn't had that the first time, and he wants to know how it is, to have a safety net and people to have his back.
I have the Grieving Jason. This Jason mourns for the kid who died, and who lives this second life to make sure that kid never die again. He's his own protector. He is violent because if this is what it takes to stop it all, then he'll do it. He doesn't hate Batman and doesn't think there's anything to forgive, Bruce did the things he thought right, and it wasn't enough, so Jason himself will fill in the voids. This Jason is more melancholic, his death was something that changed him so deeply that he is no longer the same person as before.
I have other Jason's too, altought not by name. I have a Jason that never really changed, and he is the exact same Jason as before, but it's easier for everyone to pretend he's not. I have a Jason that only needed a bit of time to understand things. And I could keep going forever. For me, all those Jason's exists in the comics, it's just a matter of highlighting certain characteristics.
The most permanent interpretation of Jason that I have is actually more of a set of values I consider the core of the character. I think he's a very emotional person, who cares too much and has hard time letting people go, even after they do him harm. I think he has his own moral code, that may vary depending of the interpretation, but always include saving people rather than punishing the agressor. I think he has a hard time separating justice from revenge, and when he does he has a even harder time deciding which path to choose. I think he's a bit too dramatic and likes to act like he's the main character in the story. I think he's too brave for his own good.
I hope this makes sense

Batman x Lab Rats crossover
The thought of some trauma-driven, angsty boy, like the Red Hood, being pulled into an emotionally-open, light heart-ed family, like the Davenports is incredibly entertaining to me. So, I've been having little plot bunnies pop into my head.
I haven't watched Lab Rats in a long while, but recently I've been looking back on it. If I remember the timeline correctly:
Adam, Bree, and Chase are Douglass Davenports' children.
Then Donald Davenport takes them and disowns Doug, because Doug planned to turn them into bionic super soldiers.
Doug meets Victor Krane, who collects bionic children behind Doug's back and those children later inhabit the Davenport Bionic Academy.
(In this AU Doug tries to make one more bionic human before just building Marcus. That person ends up being Jason.)
The crossover timeline in my head, is roughly:
Jason dies and comes back, is found by the League and put in the Lazarus pit.
(Talia kinda-cares in this one) He recovers a little bit and Talia sends him to train with multiple people.
One of those people is Doug (to learn about hacking, coding, robotics, something mechanical (because Doug does know what he's doing))
Doug and Jason bond over their want for revenge against their family. (Doug keeps the "experimenting on my own children and making them super soldiers" thing quiet)
He recovers, trains and comes back to Gotham as the Red Hood (IDK his cannon age, but in this he is a year or two years older than Adam, Bree, and Chase)
Eventually, Jason continues his training and then returns to Gotham.
Timeline continues as usual and something happens that seriously injures him (either it's Hood giving Batman the ultimatum between him and the Joker or something else)
(The more I think about it, the more I like the 'something else' option, for drama's sake.)
Apparently, Doug has been following Gotham news on the Red Hood, because he wanted to be close by for the Hoods "final showdown" (to celebrate with him if he get what he wants or to support him if he doesn't)
Doug finds Jason, saves him and brings him back to his lair to help him.
(Similar to what Doug would later do with Leo.) Jason gets bionics while he's passed out, when he wakes up Doug breaks the news and Jason finds out why his brother actually took his kids.
(I don't think Jason would want powers and I think Doug would know he wouldn't be given a willing test subject (that's probably why he used his own kids))
The chip is something Doug has been working on to "improve upon the previous models", but altered last minute to help Jason heal and recover. (This boosted healing ability helps Jason heal from the Lazarus rage in the long run)
Jason is upset and angry (for a multitude of reasons) and leaves. (Doug takes this as the sign to stop focusing on bionics and is spurred into creating Marcus(and later works with Krane))
Jason starts traveling the world and hunting criminals, starts to recover from the Lazarus Pit as well.
While on a mission, he discovers his ability to Geo-leap and starts to look back into the Davenports. (he was under the impression that he only got accelerated healing (Doug mentioned the chip was experimental, but he left soon after))
Using what Doug had mentioned before, Jason began looking for more about Donald Davenport. (Jason is suddenly very concerned about the three missing children (because Don raised them in his basement??))
(This is taking place before season one btw)
Jason finds Donald, has a dramatic reveal about the chip (and his revival, because Don is a rich man who used to occasionally goes to galas) and asks for some help.
(Not really clear how this actually plays out. Donald knows that Doug gave Jason a chip "a while ago", not that he's the Red Hood or that Doug is alive (Jason has no reason to trust Don any more than he now trusts Doug, so he keeps most details to himself))
Don thinks Doug gave him a chip before he was adopted by Bruce Wayne(because Jason was homeless(and I can only assume, the children Krane 'acquires' were also homeless orphans at some point.)) and that the bionics were triggered after his death.
He also assumes that the Jason didn't actually come back to life, just that maybe his heart stopped, his bionics triggered and kept him alive in a seemingly dead state, and then slowly healed him.
(Don wasn't close to any of the Waynes and doesn't follow Gotham news (I doubt there were many public details about Jason's death to begin with) so he's not familiar with the details. All he knows is Jason was in a bad accident and passed away)
From there, Don introduces him to Adam, Bree, and Chase (Jason's glad to see they are, in fact, alive) and Jason stays with them while he trains his Geo-leaping. Afterwards, Jason just comes and goes.
I know this probably doesn't have any kind of fanbase, but chances are I'm gunna continue writing parts and snippets of this AU. The concept is just so comical to me that my mind keeps coming back to it.
