i just finished my first ever bookbinding project! i decided to go with Phantom of Truth by Haiju as my fist one since it's one of the first fics i ever read and still one of the best. super proud of how this turned out even if it is pretty simple and i made a few mistakes, but i learned a lot and i know how to do better next time!

anyways. wowza I started this when I was writing my angsty little one-shot on quotev back when i was like, a junior in high school. and here I am starting my third year of post-grad in a med program, a grownass adult, and i'm rewatching again after so so long and i actually felt inclined to reopen this mix and update it. of course of COURSE the (ecto)core is still there, just a few additions from more recent years to round it out and goddamn, do they fit perfectly or what?

"My brother is half-dead, my parents are ghost experts, I know your secret identity, I'm fully human."

Danny Phantom has been on the Hero roster for the Justice League as one of their heavy hitters for, like, three years.

Then he gets into a massive one on entire-invasion-force with an alien invasion, right after spending the past three days fighting ghosts, and he's just. So fucking tired.

The absolute second the rest of the League arrives to help, he gets hit by an alien beam and thinks 'oh fuck this' and allows himself to faint.

He wakes up in medbay, with a very concerned Superman staring down at him.

He says the first thing that comes to mind.

"Oh holy shit, is it over?"

"The invasion?"

"No, the curse."

Double Troubles

Another Damian and Danny Twins Au idea but they decide to mess with their families once they get over the whole "I thought you were dead!" And "I wasn't sure if you would ever wanna see me again!" And basicly switch places for a while to see whose family would notice first. (They do set up rules for each other though)

Damian pretending to be Danny and 'explaining' to Danny's friends and Jazz his 'powers' are on the fritz due to something the Fenton's parents did with a new invention and "don't worry, I asked Frostbite and Clockwork, they say it has to wear off on its own.". Does he use Fenton Works weapons to fight ghosts. YES. Does he stare down the Ghosts that are confused why the 'ghost boy' doesn't feel ghostly anymore only to play along with Damian (and Danny, when he explains over the phone) theyre just having some fun (ghosts love causing chaos so they'll play along. For now.) Yep. Damian wearing contacts so his eyes are blue. Damian taking care of Danny's bullying problem in secret? Yes.

Meanwhile Danny is having the time of his life pretending to be his serious brother. He even is letting some of his ghost aura out so his eyes are green, not enough to glow neon but a shade lighter than Damian's though. And then doing things so out of character for Damian to do at odd hours of the night and trying to see if he make the rests of the Bats think they're going nuts (A very sleep deprived Tim caught him floating one night in the hallway, they both stared at each other before Danny says in his best Damian voice "No one will ever believe you." Before phasing into the floor). Things get even better when Dani (who was traveling around and felt him nearby) stops by, gets the info on what's going on, and pretends to be Damian too that's been hit by magic and turned into a girl for a day. (Danny totally was just watching in ghost form above everyone invisible)

All the fun ends when Jason returns from a mission with the Outlaws and can legit sense 'Demon brat' feels more dead than he should be.

"DANG IT JASON! I WAS GONNA WIN. JAZZ WAS TOTALLY GOING TO CONFRONT DAMIAN TODAY TOO!"

Ectoberhaunt Day 18: Unravel

Jack sat at his dining table, feeling pleased with his new invention. He scanned the room, waving around his prototype Fenton Ghoul-Glass, searching for spectral activity (albeit not expecting much.)

Danny walked into the kitchen, sending his dad a questioning glance. Jack beamed at him, launching right into an explanation.

As he pointed the glass to look at Danny, though, the words died in his throat.

For where his son should have been, stood the Phantom of Amity Park.

Phantom is a known entity by the JLD. One of the ones who is willing to help in a tough fight. Helping out In situations such as trigon.

Here’s the thing. They all have no clue he is a halfa. There are only 3 on existence all only forming fairly recently in the grand scheme. They just assume Danny died failing to protect someone or something.

Obviously he’s obsessed with protecting others. That’s why he only shows up when stuff hits the fan. He rarely stays to chit chat and if he does it’s mainly to Raven.

Whether it be bad reveal to his parents or he got found out by the GIW.

He manages to make it to Raven after he escapes. To try and get help. He didn’t know who else to go to. She’s half demon so maybe she’d understand.

When he gets there. He can’t hold his phantom form promptly turning human and passing out from various injuries.

Lol Danny as Phantom trying to summon Jazz as a prank and accidentally summons one of the bats instead. Danny and the bat in question just stare at eachother for a second, eyes flicking between the other person and the obvious Lazarus green summoning circle.

The bat asks a question but before they can even finish Danny yells, "wrONG NUMBER" and breaks the summoning circle thus sending the bat back to wherever they were at the point of summoning.

Danny assumes he must have gotten something wrong and tries again and this time succeeds in summoning Jazz who is very disgruntled at his prank.

This goes on with Danny accidentally summoning various bats by accident and batcow one time while trying to summon cujo. It isn't until Nightwing gets sent back again that he mentions what was happening to him every so often to the others that they all realize they had been summoned multiple times. Batman is freaking out because all his kids??? Got summoned through some kinda magic circle??? And no one told him what was going on???

Bruce also wondered why he wasn't summoned but all the other bats were. The kid who kept summoning them didn't seem like a threat but it was all to suspicious and unnerving.

Danny was getting annoyed. Who were these people and why did they appear everytime he tried to use a spell thats supposed to summon siblings? Is he adopted or something? Mom and Dad never had the greatest relationship with him and his sister but this is something they would tell him, right?

Right?

Bonus: One time he uses the circle while he's in danger to summon his mom so she can beat up Vlad who's gone completely off the rails. He makes sure he's in his living form and looks all weak and small as possible.

This turned out to be a mistake as either Catwoman or Talia Al Ghul appears(writers choice). Danny is confused but mis bio mom recognized him immediately and Vlad gets obliterated. Depending on the choice Vlad is either Souped or Killed and Danny gets kidnapped regardless.

2: His hair is literally glowing... Star we need a serious talk about hair physics on normal people!

Butch Hartman's style of mean spirited humor will never cease to amaze me, especially when often the targets of these are usually dumb children who are given powers beyond their comprehension and are just- expected to not immediately take advantage of that? Timmy Turner: No doubt a little shit from time to time, but hes also a 10 year old who has to suffer through neglectful/emotionally distant parents and a homicidal babysitter. He gets the ability to make all the wishes he wants (within the binds of rules), fuck up, learn his lesson, and is able to turn everything back to the status quo while retaining that knowledge. He is as selfish as a 10 year old middle class boy can be, but he still has his moments of kindness and genuine heart. Danny Fenton: Older by about 4 years and unlike Timmy, is far more reserved and chill. He still has "selfish teenage boy" syndrome, but I also feel like he isn't as impulsive as Timmy is? He still has his moments, but he isn't as "mean" or unreasonable as the show would want you to believe sometimes.

I could think of maybe one or two times Danny was fully out of line with no justification (like using his powers to sneak into the girls locker room, which is also a very Teenage Boy thing to do- but still). A lot of his fuck ups came from good intentions gone wrong or simply him not knowing how to process his emotions in a healthy way. And even when he doesnt do something horrendous enough to deserve his parents to be blown up by Burger King dipping sauce, the universe is cruel to him anyway? Like god forbid he doesn't like 1 day out of the 365 day year?

And unlike Timmy he doesn't always have the privilege to turn the clock back, unless he literally bullies Clockwork to get himself involved.
