This morning, G-Dragon posted a picture to Instagram of what fans recognised to be 2ne1 member (and rumoured former girlfriend) Y/n holding his cat, Lye.

It seems he had intended to post it on his “secret” private account instead, as the post was promptly deleted— though not before netizens could capture screenshots.

Speculation about the couple began in 2015, supported by numerous sightings, matching accessories, and hints on their social medias.

Following 2ne1’s disbandment in 2016, break-up rumours started circulating during GD’s ‘M.O.T.T.E’ Tour in 2017. Fans noticed that Y/n had been absent from any concerts, as well as posts on GD’s socials alluding to being lonely.

However, fans began to hope for a potential reunion, after 2ne1 and GD both announced their 2024 comebacks from hiatus.

Speculation spread like wildfire at possible contact between the two— which was all but confirmed with (not so) subtle hints of each other in their posts.

Now, the return of their romance has been practically announced by GD in his now-deleted Instagram post.

Wrath Fueled By Victory | Satan Victory Card React | Spoilers

ITS BEEN A LONG TIME COMIN' I'm very sorry for the wait ya'll I was suppose to post this literally like before January was over and it's now nearly mid-February 💀

Ya'll know the drill, since this is a NP card, heavily summarized, a few screenshots, the usual.

Though I will tell you...this card was a MAJOR turn around from his Torture card in terms of pacing, writing, his personality shining through and through. And that date story???

Satan wants me to marry him I guess.

Butttt let's get this show on the road~

Summary

So it seems Satan is upset today because the Explosive Sphere event (wth lmaooo) has had so many victories by Gehenna that they are removing it. Like, no one else gets a chance to win because it's biased toward long-range snipers. (okay yah I guess I get that)

And surprise, surprise we get a cameo from the big granddaddy himself, Solomon! It appears that this card starts with a blast from the past, and Solomon's influence is seen in real time. Like he literally just whispers to Satan and he calms down just like that. Levi is even like >:( sit next to me and being semi-clingy and I'm just here like??? Damn that personality didn't transfer over to MC at all sorry 😭

The narration even pointed out that it wasn't that Solomon used overt logic or strength, he was simply just present, had a nice voice, and was just himself. Literally he's just that guy.

It's official, the Calvary Battles replaced the Exploding Sphere event, we're now in the future and things are underway and Satan is hyping up his men to win. Violence is allowed, so it sounds like the devils from each country are just gonna beat each other's asses until someone passes out essentially.

And the story reflects back to Luci's victory card, which honestly that shit was wild as it is. But it's nice to know that these themed cards are connected and therefore...canon lol (at least for whatever's happening, I imagine this is MC's everyday life and how it would be realistically during their time in Hell aside from the things happening in the main story)

It begins, each country planning out their battle strategies! As we see what Gehenna is up to, basically using 6 devils together in an "iron maiden" like formation with bombs attached to themselves (wild...) we have Hades (who sent Foras to spy on the Gehenna devils...) and they are using the 9 Apostles that will come out from 9 coffins, Levi will be wearing rings (sounds similar to the infinity gauntlet lmao who is he thanos?) to show his bond with them so they can work with Hades.

And not only that ya'll, a fly was spying on Hades...and we go over to Abyssos and they plan on hiring Abaddon devils from the Red Light District as mercenaries! (Nabe's idea btw, Stolas apparently just wanted to shoot everyone too the little angry birb) And then, while folks in Abyssos were placing their votes for a bet...there's this one devil that's confident that Abyssos will lose? Turns out....he's a spy for Tartaros 😭 (this is so wild ya'll)

I want to add that Tartaros had a transforming fortrace and they didn't even have plans for a stage 3 and Mammon was like "Ah pay the devil who suggested stage 3 and we'll get right to it" MAMMON PL SSSSSSSS what do you mean you didn't have more than two stages helpppppp.

And now, we're also looking into Paradise Lost, Gamigin wants to participate so badly to show that healer's aren't weak, even offering to turn into a complete dragon or to lend Lucifer his powers? (I bet he can do that tbh) and this entire display of the other nobles treating Gamigin softly about it, has Luci convinced to join in the battles (seems like he was going to not participate just out of choice, since I mean he won the horse races and got his prize already)

Then we get a visitor??? ZAGAN THE BABES <3 He shows up to Paradise Lost to ask the nobles to not participate this time around, only because he's worried that some devil's may actually die this time because MC is the prize. He doesn't want Satan most of all to get hurt, and it really shows us more of Zagan's personality. He went there of his own accord, is worried about his King and others, and is asking for standby help to prevent a possibly tragedy. Love him.

I'll be very brief about the battle, Satan won lmao. And it wasn't like the other's didn't try it's just...even with all the spying and cheating, Satan still came out on top and he did it so flawlessly too.

And the way he grabbed MC as his prize and whisked them away? I love it when it does that. So cocky, so....him. Phewww

So I'mma just say rn, I needed one of Beleth's cigarette's after reading the smut with Satan. Like ya'll we got backshots, for whatever reason MC was describing being fucked like a bitch in heat, but whatever I might as well be cause I'm a sucker for backshots and that's something Satan should like too because it gives him good range to smack that ass.

Also, so commanding, being mad about MC being so cute, saying that he's in charge so there's no reason MC should be ordering him around. MC gave him head, he was throatfucking, and because he had consumed devil's blood beforehand it seems that made him harder, bigger (more swollen), and just more unhinged and hornier than usual.

Bonus: they came at the same time, after ya know he made them cum like 9 times before that

And one thing Satan is always gonna do? Put MC to sleep. Which happened, he was being cute at the end, and MC just passes out. All of this in an alleyway mind you...Satan freaky asf fucking outside with the possibility of getting caught.

Date Story and Chat Summary!

I think it's funny that Satan pretty much just says outloud that he had good sex with MC and everyone is like :O and MC is like 🙃🙃🙃💀😭 and I'm over here like??? Okay, now I do understand not wanting your business out there, but???? Lol

Paimon thing: He likes shy ppl and certified hoes who open their legs too, so basically ya'll you're his type no matter what I guess💀

So the date ends up being that he takes MC to his private motorcyle repair shop! He's being so domestic and soft here you almost forget he gets angry and prefers to fuck roughly lmao

But also, a big thing we learn is Satan's love language of physical touch. He doesn't say things with words, it's all actions, so you could even say that Acts of Service, is also another love language for him! He really is very affectionate, and I love that so much about him.

But the main point being that he treated this date like how any regular degular human boyfriend would, and I think...that's really what sets him apart from the other devils! He has that sense of "normal humanity" to him when he feels like it and it brings you back to a sense of comfort. Now, I have yet to observe this behavior from the other devils, as I feel it's touch and go from what we get per story, BUT yes...

Btw it seems that Satan really likes bringing up how good the sex is, because he was doing that in the chats and even had a point in time where he was like "yeah it's big again, I'm going to you now." Like my guy literally was like

While also texting on his bike at that...like? lmao

Fun fact: During the hell events, the seraphim and the angels used to come down to try and take advantage of that but they pretty much got beaten up and when Luci started participating they pretty much stopped showing up altogether

Also, it seems Levi really was upset about losing twice 💀 but strangely enough, Satan doesn't think he's the petty type (I beg to differ, maybe not petty towards you Satan). And he thinks he's a real man even though others call him feminine. This is interesting to bring up though because I'm like...huh yeah Levi's a pretty boy, that's his thing, though I don't think it's a hinderance to anything. that attitude sure fucking is though.

And there we have it folks!!! That's pretty much everything in the card I can sum up for. It's quite obvious my score on this card is....

10/10 let's go

I really did enjoy this card way more than Satan's Torture one. Again, it's mostly because it had the same writing format at Levi's Torture card. A bunch of build up, some lore thrown in, some comedy, and then it leads up to the smut and it's pretty much it from there. Not solely focused on the smut only, it was pretty long, and we get to see the nobles and kings interact once again. Now, sadly since this was a true NP card, that means if you didn't get him this time around, you'll have to wait for them to bring it back in the future. Which I would recommend getting this card if you're a Satan fan! The date story was super cute too.

Now...it's on to Mammon's Victory card which from a quick glance, it was much shorter? Man they never do that devil justice when it comes to creating card content from him majority of the time, BUT I'll see ya there <3

Detailed write-ups for the escape rooms already exist (see my dear friend Rebs's notes on the original experience, and Amy's transcript, and my detailed write-up on the Mind of Moriarty room from last year) but I do still have Thoughts To Share, and it is in danger of getting wordy, as always, so I'll see you below the cut! 🫶🫶🫶

I started my day off strong by waking up far too early & going for far too long of walk to see some classics like Big Ben, and the Langham (as one does), and then met up with Elena and Time for the Sherlock Holmes museum, since I needed to see what they'd done with it since getting rid of most of the weird little wax guys. (I can't remember what that room upstairs was officially supposed to be, but it was giving Mycroft's office. Maybe it was supposed to be Watson's office?)

And then we swung by North Gower St for the obligatory Speedy's moment, of course! 🫶

Meeting up with the rest of the group for lunch at the Westfield did turn out to be possibly the most difficult part of the weekend. Most convoluted shopping centre I've ever been in, I swear. The pizza was worth it, at least—even if it was all quickly overshadowed by the real reason we had all gathered there that day: a good old-fashioned eye exam.

I'm going to refrain from rehashing all of the insane details here that have already been noted elsewhere, but I also cannot overstate how insane the experience is. And there are people who just do this casually. Like, the original escape room experience is just included with the London Pass now? That's bonkers. And it is impossible to mention the escape rooms without also mentioning how incredibly dead Jim Moriarty definitely absolutely undoubtedly is. Mr "I Wish I Could Die Twice", indeed. 🔫🤭 And we got my beloved Yorick in-frame for our photos this time, so we were already starting off on a very high note, indeed! (Even if Stamford was a bit confused by our reactions when he prompted us to pose as though Moriarty himself had just stepped into 221B.)

There are some fun details I had forgotten, or otherwise failed to notice, the first time I did these rooms. Like Molly signing off a note to John, saying, "Nice beard, by the way!" To a man whose wife is mentioned exactly zero times during the course of the entire experience, no less. Sure. Why not.

Mycroft's office is phase two of the original escape experience, and it should come as no surprise to anyone here that that is my favourite room. And this time, it was elevated beyond what it could have been, because I learnt Mycroft's birthday on what was undoubtedly the most humbling phone call of my life, and it all went something like this:

me [picking up the phone to call Sam to ask for the code for the cryptex; the reader should note that I'm getting better about making phone calls in real life, and this is a call I've done before, so I'm feeling fairly confident in my ability to navigate this interaction, but it does still take me two tries to successfully dial the number and remember to press pound to actually make the call]: Hi, Sam, can we get the access code?

Sam: Okay, let me see here... it looks like you have given us the data we need, but just as a security measure, I'll have to ask you for Mycroft's date of birth.

me [did NOT have to give this information last time, and certain that such information is never once mentioned in the canon of the show]: ..........mmhm, sure, we'll call you right back.

A brief moment of discussing the evidence ensued, during which we determined, based on a ticket for Les Mis from 28 February 2019, and the voice message in which he complained about seeing Les Mis with his parents for his 50th birthday, that his date of birth is 28 February 1969. Meaning (1) he's a fucking pisces, and (2) the Les Mis showing in TEH was nowhere near 28 February 2019, so either that's something you're supposed to literally not take that seriously, or, as I am going to choose to believe because it's much more fun this way, his parents think he actually likes Les Mis and therefore regularly take him to see it and it's far too late for him to convince them otherwise now. (You know how parents are.)

me [calling Sam back, definitely feeling good about my ability to handle this phone call because I now definitely have all the information I need]: Hey, Sam, so we've got that security code of Mycroft's birthday for you. It's the 28th of February 1969.

Sam: Sure, that's correct! And what is it you're looking for?

me: We are looking for the access code for the cryptex.

Sam: Okay, sure. But you are still missing a word.

me [frowning at Mycroft's desk, trying to think what on earth she could be referring to, and then realising what it might be, and knowing that if I'm wrong, I'm about to look so unbelievably stupid for missing some obvious additional code word that was somewhere in the room, but that if I'm right, that'll somehow be worse, because I am an adult in the eyes of the law and I can do things like file my taxes or take impromptu trips to London to give people money in exchange for being locked in a room and insulted for an hour and a half without so much as asking for a parent's pemission, and yet I am now finding myself sat at Mycroft's desk, both feeling and sounding very much like a small child]: ..........could I please have an access code?

Sam: Oh, of course you can! The first digit is 1...

Needless to say, I have never been more efficiently nor more effectively humbled in my life, and I doubt I ever will be. And, naturally, it was only after the fact that I found out that—because everyone else could only hear my side of the conversation—they all thought we might have gotten his birthday wrong, or something, and I was just asking if we could please have the access code anyway. So thank you, Sam, for giving me some memories to carry with me to my very grave. I think I deserve photos of myself at that desk for my troubles. And also I would love to know what I looked like while sat behind Mycroft's desk and being told to say 'please.'

And also I now have to spend the rest of my life knowing a date that they chose—and probably arbitrarily, like you're probably not even supposed to think that much about it, it's not even that deep, unless it is—to be Mycroft Holmes's birthday. As though I needed any more details about that man to gnaw on. Knife emoji.

There weren't any more major surprises in that original experience, and we debriefed at the Mind Palace with drinks before it was time for our second appointment. (They had a new drink on the menu for me this time called "Mycroft's Modus Operandi," so, you know. That was fun! And there was no 'December 1963' jumpscare this time, but they clearly know their clientele, because the playlist was very "chill queer pop" vibes.)

My major takeaway from the Mind of Moriarty experience this time was, once again, my beloved prison cell. There was a phrase on the wall that had been a complete blank spot in my memory from the first time, and that was "Oh, but Sherlock's excellent, really very excellent!" (which is insane, for the record). But at least that one is relevant to a puzzle you have to solve, because I was also able to verify that the two phrases which actually haunt me—"too many thatchers" and "three signs isn't enough"—have absolutely nothing to do with any puzzles in the room. They are there just to haunt me. Which is more insane.

But, hey, I got to text Mycroft on a phone that was hidden in John's Semtex jacket inside Moriarty's mind! And apparently I missed reading last time a card where Jim refers to Mycroft as "Her Majesty." So. You know. Feeling some sort of super normal way about that!

I do really love that they use s4 footage of John and Sherlock and Mycroft and Jim in the third phase rooftop portion of the Mind of Moriarty experience. ("Family or friend, Mycroft or John Watson?" scene my beloved!!!) Especially because there is absolutely zero mention of that wife of his at any point throughout this entire thing. You would think he would fall back on "I do have a baby and/or wife at home" at some point during all his "I am literally being held here at gunpoint against my will" complaining, and yet...

Also there's still the whole "is it about having the keycode to open every door, or is it just about knowing people's pressure points and finding alternate ways to get what you need" thing running through the entire Mind of Moriarty experience. And the opening test for the original escape experience includes "TFP" in the centre of the screen and the opening test for the Mind of Moriarty experience involves choosing the fifth option to complete an existing series of four, with the patterns changing slightly (being mirrored, one might say?) between each. And there's the whole literal actual virus in the original experience becoming an AI computer virus in the Mind of Moriarty experience—it's a delicious progression, and that's all I'll say on that before I spend another three pages rambling about Jimmy boy.

At any rate, we did successfully complete both rooms, and we wrapped up the evening with dinner at Battersea itself! (Still bonkers that that's a bougie commercial complex now, and not just, like, the run-down power station where John and Mycroft I mean John and Irene had THE conversation of all time. Like, hello?)

All in all, an absolute success of a day. All my love again to everyone who made it possible, and I truly madly deeply look forward to doing it again whenever they re-remember that they have carte blanche to do whatever they want and drop a third escape room experience feature Cabin No. 9 of Blood Vessel fame. 🫶♟️🪞🤭

🍎 says that Epel’s cuteness level has increased for him during the game, and he thinks he has become cuter, too, as a result.

🍎 says he couldn’t figure Rook out at first, but now he sees him as a very deep character. And he finds it curious that Rook is voiced by Itokawa. ♠️ agrees, saying that he can see 🍎 and 👑 voicing Epel and Vil, but he can’t imagine 🏹 voicing Rook. 

👑 says he thinks Rook is odd, and his otaku side is interesting, and he has a lot of depth. We still do not know the true Rook, and it seems like there is more to see.

4) About voicing Vil

👑 says he is difficult to voice and he struggles every time. Despite how much voice work he’s done by now when he does new recordings for Vil it is always a storm of retakes. Vil has a lot of nuance, and 👑 says he hasn’t managed to pin down exactly what is the perfect Vil voice yet. And the character is always evolving so he is always practicing a lot, and it is very difficult.

🍎 says that his approach for Epel has evolved as the character has grown in things like events. As the game progresses in events and things Epel's character is developing more depth. While cuteness is still his core trait it is becoming more nuanced with fewer instances of Epel breaking character. This gradual change involves 🍎 refining his portrayal, moving from having to emphasize Epel’s awkwardness to exploring more depth while still retaining his charm.

♠️ asks if 🍎 struggled with Epel’s accent at first and 🍎 says he didn’t, as he just went along with his own original dialect. There were some difficult parts sometimes but now he thinks he has gotten used to it.

Book 5: 🍎 says he was uncertain how loud he was meant to go for Epel’s yelling scenes. The staff prepared a volume gauge for him as a guide for how loud he needed to go to match how loud ♠️ had gone, as they needed to be at the same level.

He had been worried that ♠️ would have had more power in his yelling. ♠️ says that they recorded separately, but there were instances where they were able to listen to recordings of each other’s voices as they recorded themselves. 

Book 6: On Vil becoming old at the end, ♠️ brings up how 👑 shared during Twst Fes that he recorded two versions for Vil, one with a female voice and one with a male voice. He says that everyone in the studio laughed at his female-voice version of Vil and he thought he’d done well, but then they used the male voice in the game.

Sure thing! I tried my best to calculate the numbers but please note my values may be off by one or two days due to time zone differences.

Here is a summary of the JP server's main story updates (using irl lengths of time):

Twst JP launched on March 18th 2020. At the time of its launch, the full prologue and books 1 and 2 were avaliable.

Book 3 took a total of 24 days (April 11th 2020) to fully release, which is a little under a month. It came out in three separate updates (12, 6, and 6 days apart, respectively).

Book 4 took a total of 45 days (May 26th, 2020) to come out in full, which is month plus a few weeks on top. Like book 3, book 4 had three separate updates (27, 6, and 12 days apart, respectively).

Book 5 spans 234 days (January 15th, 2021) total, or roughly 64% of a single year. This is the first book to exceed three separate updates and instead jumps up to five separate updates (104, 13, 91, 14, and 12 days apart, respectively).

Book 6 took a shocking 464 days (April 24th, 2022), or a year plus 99 days. It had five separate updates (207, 113, 68, 20, and 56 days apart, respectively.)

ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHONKY ONE… 💀 Book 7 is 1028 DAYS AND COUNTING (since it’s still not done and we’re waiting for the next main story update). That’s 2 years, 9 months, and 22+ days, almost 3 years at this point. Book 7 has so far had a whopping fifteen separate updates and counting, as chapters 11 and 12 had multiple releases (2 for 11, 3 for 12). Updates were 212, 68, 80, 40, 70, 93, 80, 69, 62, 34, 97, 6, 10, 53, and 6 days apart, respectively. The most recent update was on February 7th, 2025.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but 😅 personally, I’m getting so worn out by book 7 being as long and content packed as it is 💦 It’s such a huge jump, especially considering that those of us here from the beginning of JP launch were used to books taking roughly a month or under a year to release in full… not multiple years. Even book 6 didn’t span more than 1 year and a few months. Book 7 is over double the irl length as book 6.

—You’re thinking too hard,— Alex said flatly, holding two iced coffees and looking visibly bored as he leaned against the brick wall outside.

—I just… I don’t want it to be cliché. Or weird. Or too much,— Lando muttered, squinting at a delicate silver locket that was displayed between two obnoxiously red heart-shaped boxes.

Alex took a sip of his coffee, unbothered. —Yeah, I get that. But you’re overthinking it. Just keep it simple, keep it thoughtful. She’ll appreciate that way more than some over-the-top gesture.—

Lando glanced over his shoulder as Minnie joined them, her bright smile doing little to calm his nerves.

—Okay, what’s the crisis?— she asked, eyes flicking to the jewelry store window.

—Trying to find a Valentine’s Day gift that doesn’t suck or make Ames want to run for the hills,— he admitted, voice low.

Minnie laughed. —That’s easy. Something personal. Something that shows you pay attention.—

Lando’s gaze locked on the locket again, the tiny “C” engraving catching his eye through the glass.

—What if I got her something that connects to Cam?— he whispered, almost afraid to say it out loud.

Alex and Minnie exchanged a quick glance.

Alex nodded slowly. —That’s actually a really good idea, man. She loves him, and it’s been hard for her since… you know. Something like that shows you get it.—

Minnie smiled gently. —Yeah, just make sure it’s subtle. Like, not too obvious, but meaningful enough that she knows you’re thinking about her whole story, not just the Valentine’s fluff.—

Lando rubbed the back of his neck, still a little unsure but feeling the weight of their advice settle in.

—Okay. So, maybe this locket isn’t a total disaster after all.—

Alex grinned. —Exactly. And if you get stuck, we’re here to help. Valentine’s Day strategists at your service.—

Minnie laughed, nudging Lando’s arm. —Let’s get inside and pick something that’ll make her smile. Not run.—

Lando took a deep breath and pushed open the door, the bell chiming softly above him. Somehow, with his friends by his side, the pressure felt a little lighter.

He was going to try. For her.

The planning was far from over, but it was the start of something new—something he hoped would make this Valentine’s Day a little less painful and a lot more real.

It had been snowing lightly all day, a soft dusting of white covering the streets. The air was crisp, the kind of cold that made you want to curl up under blankets and never leave. And that was exactly what Amelie had planned to do—ignore the date on the calendar, pretend it was just another day, and avoid thinking too much about it.

Valentine’s Day had never been her favorite.

She hadn’t really celebrated it since Cam passed, and honestly, she hadn’t wanted to. The holiday felt like a cruel reminder of what she lost, of love that was there one second and gone the next. So, she usually just let the day pass without acknowledging it.

But this year was different.

Because this year, Lando was here.

And Lando—stupid, clueless, way-too-excited-for-his-own-good Lando—had been talking about Valentine’s Day for weeks.

She didn’t have the heart to tell him she didn’t want to celebrate. Not when his face lit up every time he brought it up, like a little kid experiencing Christmas morning for the first time. He had never really celebrated Valentine’s before, not properly, and the idea of doing something special with her made him ridiculously happy.

So she didn’t say anything. She let him plan. Let him get excited. And now, here she was, sitting in her apartment, waiting for whatever Lando had come up with.

She wasn’t sure if she was dreading it or looking forward to it.

Maybe both.

The sound of the front door opening pulled her out of her thoughts, followed by Lando’s voice echoing through the apartment.

—Ames?—

Björn bolted across the room, knocking over a stack of books in the process, while Benny, ever the attention-seeker, hopped down from the couch and immediately started making his way toward the door—only to stop halfway and turn around when he realized it was Lando and not her.

Amelie shook her head, amusement flickering through her exhaustion. Benny was so dramatic.

—I’m in here,— she called out, pulling the sleeves of her sweater over her hands as she curled up tighter on the couch.

Lando appeared a few seconds later, a stupidly big grin on his face and way too many things in his hands. A bag from her favorite Mexican restaurant, a bouquet of flowers (which he was holding awkwardly, like he wasn’t quite sure if he was supposed to be giving them to her), and a small, wrapped gift.

Her stomach twisted.

He had gone all out.

—Okay, so... before you say anything,— he started, setting everything down on the coffee table in front of her, —I have no idea how Valentine’s Day works. I just know it’s supposed to be about, like, romance and shit, and I figured food and flowers were a good place to start.—

Amelie blinked at him. God, he was trying so hard.

She forced a smile. —Lan, you didn’t have to do all this.—

He rolled his eyes, plopping down next to her, close enough that their legs pressed together. Always touching. Always finding some way to be near her.

—Of course, I did. It’s our first Valentine’s together.— He paused, then added, way too casually, —I mean, not together together. But, you know. Together.—

Amelie’s chest tightened. Together. But not together together. The words settled strangely in her stomach, because that was exactly what they were—something that was so obviously more than just friends, more than casual, but still stuck in this undefined space.

She had never really minded before. At least, that’s what she told herself.

But today… today felt different.

She swallowed down the lump in her throat, forcing herself to focus on Lando instead. He was still looking at her with that expectant expression, waiting for her reaction, his knee bouncing slightly like he was nervous. She exhaled slowly, reaching for the flowers before he could overthink it too much.

—These are really pretty,— she murmured, running her fingers over the petals.

Lando grinned, relieved. —Yeah? The florist tried to get me to pick red roses, but I figured you’d like these better.—

She did. They were a mix of soft yellow and white, delicate and thoughtful.

—You’re getting to know me too well, Norris.—

He smirked. —That’s the plan, mi amor.—

The nickname made heat creep up her neck, and she swatted his arm on instinct. He only laughed, clearly pleased with himself, before reaching for the bag of food.

—Alright, since I wasn’t sure if you were gonna be in a fancy dinner kind of mood, I just got your favorite. Tacos, chips, guac, and some weird-ass drink that I have no idea how to pronounce but the lady at the restaurant said you’d love it.—

Her chest ached. Not in a bad way, but in the way that happened when someone did something so thoughtful for her that she didn’t quite know how to process it.

She hadn’t celebrated Valentine’s in years. Hadn’t wanted to.

And yet, here Lando was, going all out without even realizing how much it meant.

She forced a small smile. —You’re kind of stupidly sweet, you know that?—

Lando leaned back against the couch, stretching his arms behind his head with a smirk. —I am aware, yeah.—

Amelie rolled her eyes but couldn’t fight back the small laugh that slipped out. She reached for the food, grabbing one of the tacos, and Lando’s entire face lit up like she had just won a championship or something.

He was watching her eat.

She could tell.

She let it slide this time.

For a while, they just sat there, eating together, and it almost felt normal. Like it wasn’t a day that she usually hated. Like it was just another random night with Lando, stealing bites of each other’s food, arguing over who got more chips, watching as Björn jumped onto the table and knocked over a water bottle like the little menace he was.

But then Lando reached for the small gift he had brought, and her breath caught.

—Okay, so, I didn’t know if we were, like, doing gifts or whatever, but I saw this and thought of you.—

She hesitated. —Lan…—

—Just open it, Ames. No pressure.—

Her fingers shook slightly as she pulled at the wrapping paper, revealing a small, delicate silver necklace.

A locket.

She glanced up at him, confused.

—Open it.— His voice was softer now, almost hesitant.

She did. And when she saw what was inside, she felt like the air had been knocked out of her.

On one side, there was a tiny, engraved “C.”

On the other, a small picture of her and Cam, one she hadn’t even realized Lando had.

Her throat closed up.

She blinked rapidly, trying to push down the sudden wave of emotion crashing into her.

—How did you…—

Lando scratched the back of his neck. —Alex helped me find the picture. I just… I know Valentine’s hasn’t been easy for you. I know why. And I didn’t want to ignore that.—

Her grip tightened around the locket.

He knew. He always knew.

She had never told him outright, but he had put the pieces together. And instead of pretending like today was just a normal, happy Valentine’s, instead of ignoring what it meant to her, he had found a way to acknowledge it without forcing her to talk about it.

She exhaled shakily.

—Lando…—

He shrugged, playing it off. —You don’t have to wear it if you don’t want to.—

—Shut up.—

He blinked. —What?—

She turned slightly, shifting closer to him on the couch, and before she could overthink it, she leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

Lando froze.

Her lips lingered just a little longer than they should have, and when she pulled back, his face was pink.

—Thank you, baby,— she murmured.

Lando swallowed hard.

She could see it in his eyes, the way his entire body reacted to the way she said it.

Baby.

She never called him that. Not unless she wanted something, not unless she was teasing him. But this time, it was different. This time, it meant something.

He exhaled slowly, eyes searching hers, and for a second, she thought he was going to kiss her.

She wasn’t sure if she would have stopped him.

But then Benny jumped onto her lap, demanding attention, and the moment was broken.

Lando groaned. —I fucking hate this cat.—

Amelie laughed, and just like that, the tension shifted back to something lighter.

Valentine’s Day still wasn’t her favorite.

But maybe, just maybe, it didn’t have to hurt so much anymore.

"Don't do this to me," Sanemi whispered, his voice hoarse and broken. Tears threatened to pour over and his hands trembled as he held Giyuu's limp body in his arms. "Don't leave, I swear to God, please... I'll do anything but please, please don't leave me alone."

Giyuu's body remained cold, unmoving. Lifeless. He was gone, and that was that. Blood stained his mouth, his usually plush, pink lips splattered with inky red, a cruel contrast to his pale complexion. A single tear dropped onto his cheek. Not from his own eyes, however. He had lost the capability to cry. To smile, to breathe, to live.

"Giyuu..." Sanemi mumbled, his breaths shaky. "Giyuu, Giyuu, oh, Giyuu, please, PLEASE!!"

His pleading was fruitless, simply dispersing into the cold, February air. He sobbed over the body of his lover, snowy hair swinging forwards as he bent down, clutching Giyuu tightly.

The sudden image of Giyuu, alive and happy, flashed before his mind.

"You should pin your hair back, it keeps covering your eyes," he said, laughing. He had cut his hair, had been unable to continue tying it back once he'd lost an arm.

"Hell no. I'll look stupid like that," Sanemi retorted, rolling his eyes. He propped himself up on his elbows, glancing over at his boyfriend who lay next to him, buried under a pile of blankets.

Giyuu smiled over at him, reaching forward and brushing Sanemi's bangs from his eyes. His hand was rough from a decade of fighting, calloused and hardened. Yet his touch was gentle, soothing in a way. His fingers brushed over Sanemi's jaw and he sat up, scooting closer.

Sanemi looked up, a sense of tranquility befalling over him at the sight of Giyuu, an easy smile wavering on his lips.

Giyuu bent down, placing a kiss on Sanemi's forehead, brushing against one of the many scars written into his skin.

"I love you, you know that, right?" Giyuu said, tugging Sanemi onto his lap. Sanemi rested his head on Giyuu's thigh, turning his body to look up at him. Their gazes met and, for a moment, Sanemi lost himself in the beautiful, deep blue eyes of his boyfriend's a small smile curving his mouth.

"You tell me every day," Sanemi murmured, a burst of laughter escaping his lips.

"It's because I love you so much," Giyuu declared, pressing fleeting kiss on Sanemi's smile.

"You're cute, did you know that?" Sanemi asked, sitting up. He turned, pulling Giyuu onto his own lap this time, hand brushing Giyuu's neck, grazing his jaw.

"No, I didn't," Giyuu said. "Am I?" A teasing smile betrayed him.

They had played this before. As low as either of their self-esteem's were, both adored to be praised. To be seen as something other than what they saw themself as.

"Very," Sanemi agreed matter-of-factly, tangling his hand in Giyuu's short, raven-black hair and pulling his head towards him. He kissed him slowly, tongue skimming over Giyuu's bottom lip. 

Giyuu pulled away, breath caught in his throat. "Really?" he asked, eyes flickering over Sanemi's face, searching for any hint of a lie.

"Truly," Sanemi assured him, bending down slightly and, tugging on Giyuu's kimono, pressed a kiss on his lover's collarbone. "You're lovely, too. So, so pretty. Most handsomest of the land. Girls, boys, even demons. They're all falling for my boyfriend." 

Giyuu laughed gently, though he sounded breathless as kisses were peppered up his neck, trailing to his jaw. "You're being ridiculous now," he said, leaning against Sanemi.

"Never."

"Be reasonable, Sanemi," Giyuu ordered, a mock frown playing on his lips.

"Can't, I'm overwhelmed by my love for you," Sanemi teased, grinning. 

"I hate you," Giyuu huffed, rejecting kisses that tried to follow, though his cheeks were tinted pink. 

"I thought you loved me?" Sanemi said, faux gloom flooding his expression. 

Giyuu turned back to him, horrified. "I do!" 

Then Sanemi broke character, a smile spreading on his lips, and Giyuu stammered, stumbling over himself for a response. When he couldn't think of one, he settled for a frown, drawing his features for his previously-normal expression, eyes disinterested and ignorant.

Sanemi kissed him anyhow, changing their position to pin Giyuu to the futon, kneeling above him. 

Giyuu went back to his flustered state, weakly trying to push Sanemi back before submitting to the kisses, his eyes fluttering shut. 

"God, I love you so fucking much..." Sanemi murmured into his boyfriend's lips, closing his eyes and resting his forehead against Giyuu's.

"How much?" Giyuu whispered.

Sanemi opened his eyes and sat up—or, sat on Giyuu's lap—surveying the breathless mess of his lover. He slipped back onto the futon, picking Giyuu up and cradling him in his arms. He smiled at the pleasant expression that took over Giyuu's face, soothing his features. He dipped his head down for a kiss then pulled away by a breath, their lips brushing against each other as he spoke.

"Too much," Sanemi said, gaze focused on Giyuu's blue-bell eyes. "More than I could contain." 

He held him in his arms still, whole attention purely on Giyuu. Only it wasn't

Giyuu. He wasn't... He just wasn't anymore. He was gone, had sucked in a harsh and shaky breath but never let it out.

He couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe that once, only months ago, he had held Giyuu in this exact position, but Giyuu had been well. Had been smiling, had been content, had been... alive. That he was no longer, eyes half-lidded, glazed over, skin paler than snow. His body was cold and limp, useless. He had died there, in Sanemi's arms.

Yet his lips held the ghost of a smile. How could he smile? How could he be happy when he knew that he would be leaving everyone behind, be leaving Sanemi.

Then it caught up to him. Everything.

"I love you, Sanemi," Giyuu had said, barely able to form words. But he had said this to him with the last of his strength. He had smiled, then, hadn't he? 

"Your smile isn't half-bad. You're overreaction, it makes you look young. I guess you are young. But still," Sanemi said, rolling his eyes. "You shouldn't be so nervous."

"...Kocho said it was unsightly. She said she'd rather be devoured by a demon then see me smile," Giyuu mumbled.

"Kocho spews a lot of shit," Sanemi said simply. "Smile, won't you? Do it more. Maybe people will befriend you then."

"If you say so," Giyuu assented, though not without slight perplexity.

Giyuu had done it for Sanemi's sake. He had loved him so dearly, had shown his feelings through actions day after night after day, no matter what. To his very end, his affection didn't crumble for a second.

This realization only enveloped Sanemi with grief all over again, feeling the unconditional love towards him too great. He didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve to have met someone so devoted, so perfect like Giyuu sitting in his memories. But he would cherish it all. He would recount each day he'd had with Giyuu over and over until the day he could be laid to rest beside his lover. Giyuu was everything to him. He would never let himself forget that.
