First date:

Surprisingly to no one, your first date is a picnic on a warm Sunday afternoon. A safe place where both of you can enjoy some fresh air, and where Silver can fall asleep and be comfortable. 

Also surprisingly to no one, as soon as you both sit down to eat, wild animals start gathering around looking for your boyfriend’s attention, asking for pets and some snacks; which would be cute if a random (huge) boar didn’t plop on top of the blanket you were sitting on along with his piglets. 

So there you were: Silver, you, and an entire zoo. 

Fortunately though, they were all very respectful and kept to themselves when Silver told them patiently that he would not be able to tend to them as much as he usually would since he wasn’t alone. 

The animals took a liking to you quite quickly, since they saw that you meant no harm, and some of them even laid on your lap and let you pet them or rubbed their little heads on your back or just nuzzled your hand and cheeks asking for pets or attention. 

It was very peaceful overall, thankfully the weather was nice as well, so you could say that your first date was a success, especially if you took into account how Silver looked at you when you say goodbye for the day and he softly kissed your lips to say goodbye. 

Sleepover 

Sleepovers with the 1st years are a common occurrence since you tend to study together for finals. Some of the others return to their dorms, like Epel, who knows that he has to or Vil will make him make a presentation about the importance of a 10 step skincare routine again because he could not be bothered to take all his skincare products to Diasomnia; or like Jack, who has a strict morning routine he always follows and cannot do that if he’s sleeping over. In your case though, you usually stay over at Silver’s dorm since it’s more convenient. 

Ace and Deuce usually stay as well since they usually need to stay up past curfew (they always tell Riddle that they’re staying over though, getting beheaded is not something they look forward to, ever).

So usually study sessions end up in a very “unromantic” pile of tired teenagers who just want to sleep after hours trying to memorize, except that they’re not so unromantic when everyone else is sleeping and you’re next to the window watching the clouds go by the night sky with Silver, whispering about nonsense just to pass the time while huddled up in a blanket. 

Silver doesn’t stay awake very long, but he tries to so he can keep talking to you, even if it’s only for a short while, because he truly cherishes those moments where there is only the two of you, even if he doesn’t say so out loud. You’ll end up cuddling on one of the mattresses on the floor or over a pile of blankets and pillows (which will make you regret staying up so late and not sleeping on a sofa or a mattress like anyone else, only you though, Silver can sleep everywhere) by the end of and waking up to Sebek’s characteristic “GOOD MORNING MY LIEGE”; which, is a bit annoying but if you prepare ahead and pack yourself some nice ear plugs you can still hear him but without your eardrums collapsing. 

Possessiveness

Silver is not possessive per se, but he does like keeping you close when he can. He’s always been surrounded by people and everything he’s ever done or had has been shared with others, and it’s not that he dislikes sharing, not at all, he thinks sharing the things you love is beautiful, but with you, he finds that sometimes he likes it better when it’s just you and him enjoying a moment of quiet.

Also, since you’re his first relationship, he’s a bit unsure on how to act; he wants to give you space because he knows that no one should restrict their lover’s (or anyone’s) freedom for their comfort, but he also doesn’t want to look detached or uninterested in your relationship, so finding the balance between nosy and clingy and cold and uninterested is a bit hard for him. 

Silver knows he can act a bit aloof sometimes, but overall, he really tries (and succeeds) to show that he cares while maintaining healthy boundaries.

Kissing him

Silver’s kisses are always soft and warm, albeit sometimes a bit weird feeling when he forgets to use chapstick and his lips get a bit dry. 

He likes kissing your lips and occasionally your hand, but he adores kissing your cheeks. He’ll give you a quick peck on the cheek if he’s in a hurry because he’s late to class, or he’ll softly press one kiss after another on your face to wake you up after a night studying or stargazing. 

He also loves to kiss you when you’re laughing; he just can’t resist when he sees you so happy and filled with unfiltered uncontained happiness. 

You truly are one of the most important things in his life and whenever he can, he makes sure to remind you just how special you are.

1st meeting

You first met Silver while he was passed out at the greenhouse on your way to class. Seeing him sleep so at peace, you first thought that he was like Leona, that he was skipping class, so you decided to wake him up. 

At first, you gave him only a few nudges, hoping to wake him up easily, but after 10 minutes of unsuccessful attempts and realizing you were going to be late for class, you decided to just yell at him to wake up. 

Seeing his serious and confused expression you were at first scared that you had made him mad, but a second after that, he seemed to realize where he was and instantly got up from the floor. 

He then looked at you with that serious expression of his, thanked you after giving you a (very formal) apology and ran to class, leaving you standing there dumbfounded.

Sleeping trouble: 

After meeting him, you asked Ace and Deuce if they knew who that boy with short silver hair was. At first, they were a bit confused, since a lot of their classmates fitted the “silver-haired boy with a serious expression”; but when you mentioned that you’d found him sleeping in the greenhouse, it was like a lightbulb had lit above their heads. 

“Oh yeah that’s Silver! Yeah, he’s in our year. He’s friends with Sebek and Jack, I thought you guys had met each other?”

Evidently, you had not. 

After that first meeting though, you start seeing him more when the first-year gang meets up at the cafeteria. It’s at those short meetings when you see his curse act up: he falls asleep while Sebek is talking, at the food queue, while he’s eating… You kind of feel bad now for thinking that he was just an idiot who liked to skip classes for fun, but he tells you not to worry because you had no way of knowing he was cursed. 

His curse is usually a small nuisance, but sometimes it puts him in danger. 

It was a warm spring day and you both were at the pool because Vargas thought it was absolutely necessary to learn how to fight in the water. 

One moment, you were talking to Jack saying how you thought those exercises were pretty useless since you wouldn’t be needing them anytime soon and how merfolk students had a clear advantage because they didn’t need to go up for air; and the next, you were frantically looking for Silver because he was nowhere to be seen. 

If a student from the Coral Sea had not seen him nod off on the side of the pool, he would have drowned. If no one else had noticed he was missing, he would have died. 

Miraculously, he got only a bit of water in his lungs, which he coughed up immediately after being brought to the surface; but to say you were horrified by it is an understatement. 

Since that incident you make sure to keep an eye on him or at least to keep him away from water. 

His past

(Spoilers for Book 7: The Lord of Malevolence, Malleus’ overblot and Silver’s past, read at your own discretion)

Finding out Lilia is Silver’s dad should have surprised you more, but given the circumstances, the only thing you could think about was Silver’s look when he found out who his birth parents were. 

The look on his face as he realized that the same people that were responsible for his very own existence were the same that wiped Malleus’ family from the face of Twisted could haunt you for days. 

The look on Lilia’s face as Silver saw what he had been trying to hide for decades; that he raised both his enemy’s child and his loved ones’ infant.

The shock on Sebek and Grim’s face as they saw how Silver and the Knight of Dawn were almost identical.

But there was no time to dwell on the past, to think about what could have happened if the war hadn’t started; if a ceasefire, a permanent one, had been reached and respected.

They had a job to do, they had a duty to fulfil, to save the world, to save Malleus, to save Lilia, Silver’s father. And it was exhausting; jumping from dream to dream, seeing one thing more surrealist than the other, committing mail fraud.

If things had not turned out well at the very end you really don’t know what you would have done. Perhaps fighting Malleus by yourself? Yelling at him until he saw reason?

Never mind that, because in the end, you did it. You all won, you woke up, and you got to celebrate with everyone, the living and the gone; and boy if Silver didn’t look beautiful that day: his silver hair and amethyst eyes shining with happiness as he realized that he finally belonged, his shining smile and his laugh as he twirled you across the dancefloor and kissed you as if there was no tomorrow. And in that moment, you thought, maybe Vanrouge wasn’t a bad name, after all.

Their dynamic

Both are very passionate people, being a bit (a lot) loud and dramatic.

They are both very devoted to their interests, something that has alienated them from others, so they can understand each other in that area.

Quiet weirdo (kinda) x loud weirdo.

Trouble in paradise (not) + Confessing

The only people qualified to give relationship advice are Jack and Sally, and they are how they are so you can expect the kind of presents Skully is going to give the other boy.

As expected, Sebek is considerably weirded out by Skully giving him shrunken heads or a jar full of eyes; and let's be honest, Skully doesn't really know what he's doing, but if Mr. Jack tells him to do it, he will.

Sebek, on his end, doesn't really want to acknowledge his feelings for the other boy, as he still has a hard time letting go of his prejudices against non-fae people.

Idia has called him out on his tsundere behaviour 1000 times and has been yelled at in response about 1000 times as well.

Fighting against Skully? More like marriage trouble arc.

Poor man looks like a raisin after the fight because of how much he cries.

When trying to lift his spirits after the fight Sebek accidentally confesses his feelings.

The silence following that moment is deafening.

And then Skully breaks down sobbing.

He is so confused. How can someone as noble as Sebek like him? How can he accept this confession? He had already assumed that his feelings were not reciprocated???

Everyone thought they wouldn't get together bc how dense they are

They made bets

Jade won, of course because he knows everything (he spied them)

Kissing

Both want to kiss the other one (on the lips) but feel incredibly awkward and shy, so they stick at hand holding or cheek kisses.

When Skully finally musters up the courage to ask Sebek if he can kiss him the other nods so frantically it looks as if his head is about to fall off.

The first tries suck, which is to be expected since they have 0 experience.

When they get how to do it properly (without scrunching their faces like a cat who ate a lemon) they won't stop.

Lots of short kisses and pecking on the lips and cheeks

And hand kissing on Skully's end, obviously. He loves his knight's broad callouse hands, loves how they fit his slender (slightly dry) ones.

Sebek loves staring at his lover's eyes, loves how bright they are, resembling sparks of magic, and loves his fluffy hair (though he'll never admit that last one).

Confession:

It takes a while before he gathers the courage to confess. You are a very dear friend of his and he doesn’t want to lose you. However, he can’t stand having to pretend that he doesn’t have any feelings for you either. 

And so, fueled by his determination (and eager to prove Ace that he is not, in fact, a chicken),he decides to ask you out. 

Needless to say, it doesn’t go as planned. 

At first it looks like he wants to run away, but he reminds himself that he has to do this. And so, he starts talking:

At first it looks like he’s reciting a text by heart while he’s looking straight into your eyes, which, let’s face it; is a bit awkward! But by the half of it, he’s lost all of his bravado and begins stuttering and tumbling over his words only to finish bowing and saying: “...So please go out with me!”

Poor man is a tomato, standing there fidgeting while he waits for your answer. Oh Sevens, please say yes

When you agree to go out with him it’s like someone told him he wouldn’t need to go to Crewel’s classes anymore. My god he looks so happy. If the look of sheer adoration in his eyes is anything to go by, I’d say you just made him the happiest man in all Twisted Wonderland. 

First date:

You know Deuce strives to be a model student, a better version of himself; so he wants your first date to be perfect. Or as perfect as it’s going to get. 

Since his budget is limited, you’ll probably go to the town’s library or to a free access art exhibition; or if you prefer to do something outdoors, you’ll probably go for a picnic in a nice park (with food made with the help of Trey and Cater, who did not trust Deuce around the kitchen or Ace and Riddle to help) or walk around town window shopping. 

If you do end up in town, he’ll probably use this as an opportunity to show you to his favourite blastcycle shop, showing off his knowledge of the various models and characteristics. If only his ability for memorising history events and dates was as good as this. 

He’s sorry he can’t take you anywhere fancy, but he swears that when he’s saved up enough he’ll take you to the cinema or to a nice restaurant; and if you’d like to, he’ll give you flowers.

Anniversary + Love languages:

Cater told him that forgetting your anniversary was the equivalent of saying you wanted to break up, so Deuce made sure he marked down in his calendar the day of your first date to celebrate the following year. It gives him something to look forward to, celebrating one year together. Plus, having it written down acts like a little reminder of why he’s improving himself (along with this mother’s birthday and the day he was told he was accepted at Night Raven College). 

He takes your anniversary very seriously, and he’ll spend weeks saving up so he can get something nice for you; even if you tell him he doesn’t need to give you anything. 

Deuce strikes me as someone who expresses his affection with acts of service and gifts because he finds it easier to show his appreciation for others that way since words evade him sometimes. He might not be very good at giving others compliments, but if you need a helping hand, he’ll always be there for you; and if he knows you want something, he’ll do his best so that you can have it. 

As for him, I think he would enjoy quality time and words of affirmation over anything else. He won’t say no to a hug or a small present, but he values greatly when others set some time aside for him since he knows that most around him are very busy people. He also knows that he’s not perfect,that he makes a lot of mistakes, so when someone tells him he’s doing great or even good he feels all fuzzy inside. Please keep complimenting him when he gets something right, he loves feeling like he’s made progress from how he was before. 

Arguments

Unfortunately, your views and personality can clash sometimes, leading to disagreements that have escalated once or twice. 

Arguments between you two are not very common though since you do your best to communicate your feelings and your reasons for doing things a certain way so even if you don’t always end up agreeing on what you’re doing you both learn to compromise. However, due to Deuce’s hot headed nature and impulsiveness, things can get a bit out of control. 

On those rare occasions, you both decide to spend some time apart to cool off and try to think things rationally. Deuce spends that time reflecting on his actions and what has caused him to act the way he has. Again, he is trying his best to be better, so he has done a bit of research on how to de-escalate arguments as well as keeping his anger under control, finding better outlets you know?

It is possible that during that time you see him venting his anger by aggressively painting all Heartstabyul roses red. 

Going to the White Rabbit fest

You’ve already gone together when you went with Silver and Epel to visit Deuce’s hometown to help out his mom, but this year’s the first you’ll be going together. Which, come to think of it, doesn’t make that much of a difference, oh well. 

I mean, the only difference will be that Deuce’s mom will tease the hell out of his son (she loves him to bits) and use this as an opportunity to dig out every photo album she has to show you; Deuce’s first White Rabbit fest, his looks when he still had his hair dyed… 

She insists on taking your picture, wanting to commemorate the moment and while she won’t refuse you helping her out at her stall like last year, she wants you to have fun and enjoy your time at the festival; maybe get a nice clock or a watch or something if you didn’t get to last year.

Your relationship is doomed right from the very start. He knows that he’ll have to devote his life to taking care of Kalim, and he can’t stand not being there for you more than half of the time.

You spend months on a strange kind of a situationship: he knows he can’t have you but he can’t bear to let you go, something that eats him alive. 

He tries to conform to just fleeting glances; too-short conversations; light caresses that last a few seconds every time he hands you something you’ve dropped, and late phone calls that lull you to sleep.

The aftermath of his overblot hurts him even more knowing that even if you love him back, there’s nothing that can be done. 

Half of the time it’s Kalim who interrupts your conversations, immediately wanting to talk to you as soon as he sees you. 

Fourth year is one of the most bittersweet moments in Jamil’s life; only bested by the moment he got accepted to Night Raven College and got to taste freedom for two weeks before he was told that Kalim would be studying there as well. 

You try making promises that you will keep in touch, that you’ll never let your relationship grow cold, but you both know that’s not true. 

You both know that at some point you’ll leave Twisted Wonderland and he will be stuck in the Asim manor “helping” Kalim.

According to comments, the first season was only one week in their universe (I don't know how they keep track of the days that have gone by nor the time it is but that’s another whole can of worms). So, if you look at it that way, Annabel not trusting anyone safe from the girl she feels a connection with is very understandable. She’s been told that all students are being held against each other in some sort of battle royale, so it makes very little sense to trust their peers when she knows they can and will stab her in the back to get a second chance at life.

Her whole life up until arriving at Nevermore academy is a blur; she doesn’t know anyone or anything, but if there’s something she does remember, it is how to protect herself.

Keep in mind that Annabel Lee comes from a time period in which (as we’ve seen), women were constantly patronized and ordered around. They were told to be docile and kind, so any kind of behaviour that went against that pattern was deemed wrong.

Women were not supposed to be strong, nor intellectually nor physically. Pastimes were classified into lady-like or un lady-like. And that's where board games come in.

Board games, such as dames or chess, walk that fine line between what’s proper and what’s not. Being excellent at chess, for example, could be merely passed off as being educated and elegant, something aristocratic ladies aspired to. Therefore, one could use that as a loophole to perform an activity that would stimulate their brain and hone their strategy skills while pretending to be simply lucky.

On top of that, board games are the only area in Annabel’s life where she can be in control of the situation; where she can win something. The chessboard is where she holds the power, and once she’s defeated one of those pathetic, idiotic men who treated her like a flower vase at a game they ¨excelled at¨, she finds that she doesn’t want to stop.

Which is why, ironically, Annabel Lee has never felt as free as she does in Nevermore Academy.

Free from societal expectations of how a lady should behave, free of her father’s overbearing and belittling attitude, free of those tiresome suitors…

She views the academy as her playground, her peers as disposable pieces to step on to win the game; and only Lenore as her equal. As previously said, Annabel Lee spent all her life being told what to do, being controlled by someone else, and she’s never, ever letting that happen again. This time around, she wants to control the pieces, to make people know how she has felt her entire life; and the only way to do that, is by treating it all like a game, the only place in her life where she had power.

She’s not stupid, she knows that she’s not as physically strong as other students; but she’s certain that she can manipulate and gaslight those around her so they serve her purpose.

We’ve seen this exemplified when she did nothing to prevent Montresor and the others from attempting to kill Duke, as well as when she was about to let Montresor die from blood loss if he did not beg for her help (not to mention her exchanging Duke and Prospero’s room keys or misleading Ada into thinking Prospero liked her back).

This last season however, has felt like a wake-up call for her. What good is winning the game if Lenore doesn’t love her back, what use is it if she considers Annabel Lee a cold and heartless monster?

I believe that has caused Annabel to rethink her strategy and form her first bonds with others. Like her asking Prospero to be friends with her, or her not leaving Ada behind.

All in all, in this next season we’ll probably be able to see those bonds strengthen and take shape.

Rook falls for Vil at first sight, enraptured by that unique beauty of theirs. He finds Vil absolutely mesmerizing, and no matter how much time they’ve spent together, the other never ceases to surprise the hunter.

This man is absolutely smitten I tell you.

Vil’s gender has never been a topic to discuss; when Vil said she would do everything in her power to be the best queen Pomefiore had ever had Rook just went with it. His “Roi de Poison” enjoyed being la reine from time to time? No problem at all.

Speaking of the Pomefiore house warden, he’s in pretty bad too. Vil trusts Rook immensely, he knows the other would catch him were he to fall (which is proved right after his overblot).

After Vil’s breakdown at the VDC their relationship strains a bit though. Deep down Vil knows they can’t nor they should attempt to control what the hunter likes; after all, it was the other’s passion for life and his unbendable honesty that captivated them in the first place. However, they still feel slightly betrayed for their actions; after all, he saw the effort and strain Vil went through for the competition.

Rook, on his part, is also hurt. He knows what the other went through while preparing for the VDC but at the end of the day, he had to vote for Neige; not doing so would go against his morals, against everything the hunter was; and he knew his queen knew that. He also knew that deep down the other would have been even more upset if Rook had voted for them because they would have seen it as a pity vote; because his beloved knew that the hunter would follow his heart whenever he went, and sometimes that meant doing things they didn’t agree on.

They get better after a while of longing glances and words hanging in the air, and after making up they’re stronger than ever.

Idia’s overblot only helps to strengthen their bond. Rook’s desperate attempts to help his “Roi du Poison” shoot an arrow through Vil’s heart; causing him to kiss fervently the other when they’re finally alone from privy eyes, leaving purple all over the hunter’s body.

Their relationship dynamic can be a bit odd or unsettling for people who aren’t used to it.

Rook absolutely loves chasing his queen, and Vil is always up for a game of cat and mouse, enjoying the hunter’s attempts at catching her and rewarding him when he finally does. It’s also safe to say that the Pomefiore’s house warden also enjoys seeing her lover “hunt down” other students, specially when she knows they’ve been causing trouble.

In return, Rook lets Vil test her new poisons on him (always with the antidote nearby) as he knows she would never harm him. He enjoys the new sensations the poisons bring and the feeling of exquisite ecstasy that fills him when his queen feeds him the antidote, always followed by a spa session to relive his body from the stress it has gone through.

Vil keeps all the letters and poems their lover has written for them, as well as the flowers he used to bring them (when they started dating Rook switched from bouquets to plant seeds or cuttings so his lover could keep the plants on their garden). In fact, half of the books on Vil’s room have their pages filled with dried flowers they have put there so they don’t go bad.

In some occasions Vil has used those dried flowers on potions, crushing them and turning them into fine powder if they have useful properties.

He never lets Rook use them though, because he knows the other would use them in one of the Science club’s experiments and blow up the laboratory for the nth time (something they’ve argued over multiple times, the other explaining that there is no joy without a bit of danger while Vil tries not to get wrinkles on his face from frowning).

My thoughts on Idia (a messy essay ig?): Contains some spoilers from Idia's story and Chapter 7: ruler of the abyss.

I've been thinking about him lately, which prompted this messy essay/character analysis, and let me tell you; first and foremost: I am no psychology major, I am not someone who ususally gets all the nuances a character has; so if I miss some details, please don't go hunting me down :D.

So, looking at canon, Idia reads to me as someone who may hate himself but also believes that no one is better than him; at least in some aspects.

He's very much a shut in guy who doesn't enjoy interacting with people (at least face to face) who spends 80% of his time playing video games, which I believe keeps fueling his inability to mantain standard social interactions. In an RPG, you kind of know how things are meant to go, you know how charcaters are supposed to interact with each other and you know that if things go south, you can always restart the game or try again.

With real life people, you can't. Once you've said something you can't exactly take it back, and you can't exactly predict how people are going to respond to things, which I think terrifies Idia. On top of that, things irl can touch you, they can cause physical harm, unlike a game character; which makes potential confrontations a thousand times more scary for him.

I mean, picture this: you've lived alone, secluded, for most of your life (because your brother, the only company you had, died when you were kids; something you blame youself for, to this date), and all of a sudden you're thrown into a boarding school where you are expected to interact with people from all backgrounds. You don't know these people, but you know that they could physically hurt you if you said something wrong.

So Idia being Idia, decides to shut himself in (and I mean, I get it, I'm not saying that was a healthy response, but it's an understandable one).

And by shutting himself in and being afraid of others, comes this "disdain", this lack of understanding that just gets worse the less he interacts with others. Because when you don't interact with people, you create these expectations, these "ideas" of how someone is, based off entirely of what you hear about them, or what you see (normally without context); and the more you construct these images in your head, the harder it is to actually get to know them, because you have to break down everything you believe they are.

This shows many times during the game, for example, in the latest chapter (ch 7 I believe); when Idia goes off on a rant about how Malleus has always "acted cool" and "kept his strong character image", when he literally hasn't! It's not that he keeps an image, it's just that he's literally that strong! Sir! If you got to know him better you'd realize that you're more alike than you think!!

In conclusion, I think Idia is a very interesting character, and I look forward to seeing him interact more with the rest of the Twisted Wonderland cast.

♡ Malleus, like the dragon (fae) he is, is very fond of collecting/hoarding small trinkets or things he finds interesting, like his “pet” Gao-Gao Drakon-kun. It comes so natural to him that he believes everyone must feel that way, so expect him to shower you with gifts at every chance he gets.

♡ He also enjoys going on long walks with you in the middle of the night (he loves seeing you ramble on about the things you are interested in); so you often find yourself joining him on a stroll in the warmer part of the botanical garden in wintertime.

On that note, if he notices that you are cold, he’ll immediately suggest going somewhere warmer or he’ll cast a spell to warm you up.

♡ As for (public) displays of affection, Malleus is the kind of man who will ask you for permission before kissing you on the lips, often kissing your hand or forehead instead. As for hugs, you and him will probably have long cuddling sessions on your couch while you watch TV or while you game/read.

𝓗𝓲𝓼 𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓼:

♡ He’ll be ecstatic if you ask him about his favourite places or gargoyles, especially the latter. Hoo boy, better get ready for a lengthy lesson about them, their use, their evolution through history… You get the drill.

♡ The thing is, you can’t really stop him. I mean, look at this guy, his eyes light up every time someone shows even the slightest interest on his tastes. He’s just, so, happy. Why bother yourself with buying lightbulbs when you have a gleeful Malleus illuminating the whole room?

Speaking of which, after repeatedly telling Malleus he can come and visit you at Ramshackle whenever he wants to (as long as it’s not at an ungodly hour in the morning), he starts coming over all the time.

At first, he’ll look very awkward, just standing there in the middle of your living room, unsure what to do. Eventually though, he will warm up to his surroundings, and kind of make himself at home: popping in just to say hi; chatting with the ghosts, helping you out in the kitchen…

𝓦𝓱𝓮𝓷 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓯𝓮𝓮𝓵 𝓪 𝓫𝓲𝓽 𝓭𝓸𝔀𝓷:

♡ To be honest, Malleus isn’t really good at knowing what to do or what to say when you are not doing well, but he’ll try his best because I mean, he’s going to be king, if he can’t help the one he loves, how is he going to aid his future subjects?

♡ He would usually ask Lilia for help, but because the old bat is emotionally constipated and just shrugs off his problems until people overblot , he decides to ask Trey or Deuce, as he knows you three get along.

♡ For the most part he’ll just hold your hand and draw circles on your back (if you are feeling like it) while he softly whispers reassurances in your ear. He doesn’t mind having to repeat words of encouragement over and over if it means that someday, you’ll believe them. After all, you have helped him numerous times, so what kind of person (?) would he be if he just left you suffering like that?

𝓦𝓱𝓮𝓷 𝓱𝓮’𝓼 𝓲𝓷 𝓪 𝓫𝓪𝓭 𝓶𝓸𝓸𝓭:

You can usually tell when Malleus is in a bad mood because, well, you can’t see the sun, or moon, or anything aside from dark clouds and streaks of lightning. So, when that happens, you normally try to get to him as soon as possible. He’s been through a lot; so, you feel like you should return the favour.

You always hear what he has to say and give him your opinion, an honest one always, he doesn’t want to hear any more lies to make him feel better, just the truth, and when you comfort him, you always speak your mind. On that topic, you always make sure to look straight into his eyes when you comfort him, caressing his hands or his cheek gently so he can feel that someone is there with him. So that he knows that you’re not a figment of his imagination, a piece of a dream, created by his desire to be held.

𝓖𝓮𝓽𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓽𝓸 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓯𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼:

Malleus is not the most sociable person around, mostly because people usually find him intimidating or straight up terrifying; which drives you to introduce him to your friends.

He’s obviously curious about them for numerous reasons; first of all, they have known you for years, so they’ll probably be able to help him choose presents for you, know what makes you upset, happy… Second of all, you look very happy around them, for him, it’s like you’re a sun irradiating joy (his hear melts when he sees you smile so carelessly around them, stress lines completely erased from your face).

And lastly, because they come from your world and know their way around modern technology; he asks them for help when he doesn’t want to bother you with his questions and inquiries (you seem too busy helping the Heartsabyul duo to explain how does this “Blue tooth” functions. Is it a spell to brush one’s teeth? To colour them blue? Who would like to have their teeth painted blue? And why does it seem to be in his telephone? Where does that small gadget has its mouth?)

𝓙𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓼𝔂/𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓼:

Alrighty… Our lover boy here ­might be a bit overprotective. I wouldn’t say that he gets jealous often, but sometimes he treats you as if you were made from glass, which can feel a patronizing. It’s not like you don’t appreciate him taking care of you, but it can be a bit too much; so, you’ll have to tell him to back off a little when you see that he’s overreacting; like when he decided to just send everyone into a 1000 year long nap because he thought that way everyone would be happy and out of harm's way, but let's not talk about that :)

𝓒𝓸𝓶𝓶𝓾𝓷𝓲𝓬𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷:

Malleus tries really hard to use his (newly acquired!) phone to contact you, but he hasn’t gotten quite used to it, he finds texting a tedious task and therefore prefers calling you or sending you letters in which he asks you about your day, Grim, your friends…

You, on turn, ask him how Lilia is doing, how is Silver and Sebek’s training progressing whether he saw and gargoyles the previous night; and now you have more than a hundred letters sitting on your bedside table.

They are filled with poems, dried flowers and thousands of very detailed sketches of grotesque stone creatures filled with explanations on their whereabouts, the kind of rock that was used to sculpt them, and curious details (see how the fangs of this magnificent creature are rounded and have almost disappeared? This means that this one is quite old, and thus shows signs of age and use. Don’t you think it’s wonderful? The many things these beings have witnessed, the time and care someone put into them?).
