Leader almost wished the roses had thorns, so that they could feel them digging into their skin. It'd keep them grounded, if nothing else.

The grave had been freshly dug, and the words lovingly inscribed.

Here lies Youngest.

Leader's heart panged, seeing how small the gap between the day of birth and day of death was.

Youngest, who loved to play jokes and tricks on the team -- all completely harmless. Well, except for the time they rearranged the kitchen cabinets from Medic's strict placement. Leader remembered watching Youngest dash out of the base, screaming for mercy, as Medic had chased after them with a broomstick. But besides that, the whoopie cushions and plastic spiders never led to any harm.

Leader forced out a laugh. "This... this is a good one, Youngest. Really good," they said to the grave. "You even got Medic good."

Their hands gripped the roses tighter, seeking some form of sensation.

"You... you put a lot of effort into this one, huh?" If their words were choked with sobs... well, nobody but Youngest was there to hear it. And nobody would believe Youngest if they said that stuck-up, laughs-once-in-a-blue-moon Leader cried. They'd just think it was another silly joke.

(God, how they wished this was another one.)

"Your-- your room will be there for you. Once you're done with this one. With a complimentary scolding from Caretaker. Like always."

They thought of the rest of their team, who'd long since retreated back to the base to continue their mourning. Caretaker had been utterly distraught, but still tried to be there for everyone. Leader hoped they were taking care of themself and allowing themself to grieve. They made a mental note to keep an eye on Caretaker.

Gently, Leader kneeled in front of the fresh plot and laid down the yellow roses. Youngest had been an incurable romantic; they knew that they'd appreciate the flowers, and the meaning even more.

"Just... don't take too long, okay?" Leader whispered.

16. Got any tattoos? What’s the story behind them?

Amaris has few Watcher related tattoos! One is a near whole sleeve of a skull design on his left arm and another skull related circular design on his lower left leg that stretches up over his knee. I imagine he got those in personal celebration when he officially became a Watcher as a way to signal to others tbh, he takes his title very seriously and worked hard for it ~

He's also got two others, one is a hexagonal design over his right clavical which is the most recent one he got before the game's timeline starts. The other is a stellated dodecahedron (yes I looked up what the fuck that thing was lmao) on his hand which he just got because it looked cool and no one was there to tell him no lol

17. How’d Rook get those scars?

He's got a particularly deep one on his inner right arm, scratches on his back and the scratches on his face that came from the War of the Banners, which is what got him kicked out of the Necropolis. He doesn't regret what he did for a second but he does find it funny he had to explain to the companions that No, the eye scars are not what fucked his eye up, he's had cataracts in his right eye since he was born. Any other small scars he has are all from various fuck ups while still in Watcher training seeing as he can be kinda clumsy from the bad vision at times.

(He eventually gets one on his stomach During the game timeline as well as a gift from Hezenkoss while she's taunting him about his relationship with Emmrich. If she wasn't already as dead as she can be he'd kill her again for that one.)

22. Most embarrassing memory as a teenager:

Nothing super big tbh but most likely the time he walked straight into a door coming into one of his classes where everyone could see him back when he used to let his hair down because he couldn't see it from his bad side. He started tying it up after that and moved his bangs over permanently to avoid doing it again.

32. How would a desire demon tempt Rook?

Some sort of promise involving gaining familial love. He won't admit it without a Lot of prodding or unless severely drunk but the fact he's likely never going to know his parents and grew up without them does fuck him up a lot.

35. Ultimate comfort food meal:

Potato leek soup...he's really simple and also sticks to the typical Watcher vegetarian diet so any veggie based soups are usually his go to. Tho more recently I think Lucanis introduced him to gnocchi which has also become a favorite ~

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? I really love the concept of Tim hiding in small spaces randomly, and his family just completely accepting this as normal behavior.

Like,

Dick, mid conversation with Wally, grabs a cookie from his plate and reaches behind the couch, sticking his arm down there and pulls it up with no cookie. He doesn't falter once in his conversation.

Wally blinks in confusion a few times and then carefully asks, "Did you just... put a cookie behind the couch?"

Dick blinks as well. "Tim is behind there." He said like that should be obvious.

"What?! Dude, has he been listening to our conversation??"

"Nah, he's got his headphones on." Dick says dismissively.

Tim reaches his hand up and taps Dick on the shoulder to get his attention and then mimes writing. Dick hands him a pen.

"This happens all the time, doesn't it?" Wally asked, amused.

Dick snorts and nods. "Are you really surprised? I mean, I hang upside down when i need to think, Damian cuts things, Jason shoots things, Bruce broods. Tim hides."

Wally laughs. "Fair enough, man."

*kicks down your door* It might seem like a plot hole that no one thought about the possibility of Dracula being invited into the asylum by Renfield (or any other patient) but actually it speaks to the way Renfield’s personhood is being denied mainly by Jack Seward, but also the rest of the crew in part through their reliance on Seward’s expertise. Which also ties into the way they have decided to shut out Mina at the very same time. It literally just did not occur to them that the patients living in the same building as them would have any claim to the residency that allows someone to grant the permission a vampire needs to enter a home. But of course the asylum is the patients’ home just as much as it is Jack’s! They live there! In short this fatal blow dealt to the heroes at this crucial juncture comes about through both their sexism and their ableism. Good night. *puts your door back on its hinges again and leaves*
