➤ MISC HEADCANONS. [ ; ] Blizzard PTSD & Jayce’s resulting dislike of Cold Weather

◈ Jayce seeking comfort after stressful events or before them. Helps him feel safe / stable enough he can regroup & recover to plan his next course of action. Be it damage control or a step forwards. Like an anchoring point.

◈ Please keep in mind I have yet to piece together more of his childhood / a set timeline! But the basic idea is that after the storm him & Ximena were travelling through, he did grow to be protective of her, stepping up after being saved to take on a more nurturing role through helping her out with her tasks, cooking, doing small acts of care via helping her brush her hair or braid it. That is to say he knows how to cook, can keep a tidy space ( when it’s not relating to him or his work ; then he gets messy because he functions better within an organized chaos kind of environment ) & does find some comfort & satisfaction in being able to do small but soothing gestures like that for those he loves — platonic or romantic.

◈ So far only *Panda’s Cait has been subject to this and the hc popped up through chats with them! Taking care of someone helps give him a sense of earned control, in knowing he’s lifting a burden no matter how big or small & doing something that actually helps / can see the results of his effort through helping.

◈ He has a lingering fear of / sensitivity to cold weather. I need to take time to properly word it but one day I’ll ramble on about how his first experience with magic was both a blessing, an inspiration, & a source of great trauma for him. It manifests itself as him always holding a greater preference for warmer temperatures, lingering in his forge when he’s stressed or needs to think because of the heat there that keeps it at bay.

◈ He does tend to focus on the good in that whole encounter, but he will always remember the fear of being so cold despite his gear, seeing his mother collapse in the snow, remember how she’d lost her fingers & almost lost her life to that storm. How he didn’t even know if anyone would come to help, if he’d die there. It lingers, even if the memory of all the bad is overshadowed heavily by all the wonder & awe of witnessing magic & being saved by it. But yes, it’s why my portrayal will stray away or avoid being cold if he’s able to. It’s a small thing but there is a reason behind it, & it’s also why he does prefer to hole up in his labs or Forge when he needs to think.

*It doubles as a place of comfort where he can physically work through things, map ideas out, while physically doing something through making / creating. While also just yeah letting him go back over that memory in peace without the fear of a passing chill bringing up the bad that came with the memory of magic.

There’s that post that’s like ‘everyone should get into a tiny niche fandom at least once’ fully agree, that was really fun -- but I would like to add that everyone should get into a fandom where their opinions run counter to major fanon because it really teaches you about sticking to your guns and trusting your interpretation of the text without having to rely on peer validation

favorite Bruce Wayne hc of the week: you’re allowed to follow him into the Cave to continue your argument, but he’s going to start undressing and pulling off armor while heading for the showers and if you get an eyeful, that’s on you.

It’s an effective tactic and stops a good 60% of those arguments in their tracks. The remaining 40% are usually intense enough to follow Bruce into the showers and yell at him while he’s casually showering off grime and blood.

Elaborating further in a later post but before I forget I need to say that APPARENTLY, a big love language of Jayce’s is *Acts of Service.

Shown more clearly through him making tiny trinkets or snatching away gear to augment it for people he cares for. If it’s requested? That he design a weapon or upgrade something for a loved one, he will jump at the chance, do his best to make something that will protect & help them. Helping people will always be at the core of who Jayce is, even if he grows more jaded & cynical over time.

So if you do happen to grow close to him, his way of showing his care is by trying to make sure you’re safe, protected or able to defend yourself if he isn’t there to help.

Headcanon where after so many arguments between the batkids and Bruce over his paranoia and complete disregard for his kids privacy, the entire family had compromised with (in the healthiest way possible) downloading life360 on their phones and that's how they all keep track of each other.

Now Bruce knew that this is mostly for his benefit and is supposed to be a healthy alternative for his unhealthy paranoia and helicopter parenting, but what he wasn't expecting was for his kids to start keeping track of him.

He's putting gas in his car and Dick calls him because apparently Dick has been watching him drive around on the app? And Bruce is currently at a gas station thats right around the corner from a Taco Bell and now Dick wants him to get food for everyone since he's already there.

He's driving home from a meeting and Steph calls him because her and Duke were shopping in the area and wants to know if he can pick them up, when he asks how she knew he was on the same street, he gets a "Oh I just like to stalk everyone on the app for funsies." as an answer.

Jason calls him and he can barely get out a hello before Jason cuts him off, "Bruce why the fuck is your phone battery on 5%, charge your damn phone" which completely stuns him because why does he know that. He clears his throat before answering. "Jason, what?"

"Everyone can see each others phone batteries on '360, now charge your phone." Is all he gets before Jason hangs up on him.

So while rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender recently, I noticed a trend

A number of spirits we see have an animal form, specifically animals we recognize as "normal" for us. For example:

- Wan Shi Tong is an owl and his knowledge seekers are foxes

- Tui and La are koi fish

- Hei Bai is a panda

-The guardian of the mother of faces is a wolf (The Search)

Heck there's even the talking Baboon spirit and the monkey missing its face that we see in the Spirit World at the end of Season 1.

Basically every time we've seen a "normal" animal, they've been a spirit.

My point? I argue that Bosco is a spirit bear that's chilling and living the good life in the mortal world just because he can.

Starting to think a cooler headcanon for Clark’s upbringing might just be that the entire town of Smallville collectively decided to just go with it and accept that Martha and John's kid has superpowers, but we don't talk about it.

Someone's tractor gets stuck and nothing can get it out? "Be a dear and run down to the Kents, would you? Ask for Clark?"

"Why Clark, we need a machine--"

"Run along now."

Or if he kicks too hard and the football vanishes into the upper stratosphere, no it didn't, we all collectively saw it land over there *vague hand movements*
