In honor of me officially becoming old and gen beta being born in about a month, you get to get my brainrot Batman headcannons.
Tim- I have the least hope for Tim. He’s worse than me. I like to think he’d be at a WE meeting and would accidentally say something like “L- get radioed” without even noticing.
Steph- doesn’t hold back. She says “chat” so often that Jason has started to think she’s talking to her imaginary friend “Chat.” She’s almost as bad as Tim but is able to hold back in professional settings.
Duke- is aware of it- uses it very sparingly unless Tim and/or Steph are making fun of someone, at that point he joins and will shred someone *cough* Jason *cough* to shreds.
Damian- finds it annoying and dumb most of the time HOWEVER I can totally see him using gen-z slang, especially in school. I can also see him taking a shit on the riddler by calling him the anti rizzler.
Cass- only uses it on criminals she’s already detained. Especially if she did without making a noise. She finds it hilarious when a criminal gets taken down in less then five seconds by a black blur with faint Chappell Roan music in the background only for the the black form to whisper “queen never cry” before disappearing again.
Jason- has no clue what it is or why his siblings are yelling “you’ve gyatt to go” and “- 10 aura” across roof tops whenever they see him on patrol.

If you are going to post a comment calling a author out for using AI
PLEASE make sure the author actually is. I got a very crual comment saying my 'dear reader' fanfic is all AI generated. The comment is included below so you all can see the kind of language that was used. I do NOT and never will post AI fanfiction. I get nothing out of my writing other than the joy of sharing and the community I create. It was a gutting comment, my heart is in my stomach. It made me actually consider not posting anymore, because what's the point if my readers don't trust me. I WILL be continuing to post, but come on guys. all AI has to do with my writing is spell check with Grammarly, which I have been using for years. I can't belive people think this about my work. I know it's melodramatic but I am gutted.
The comment:
"How could you even think this is acceptable? Do you not have any respect for the people who actually put effort into writing? Using an AI to create this mess just shows that you can’t be bothered to use your OWN creativity. 68% of this is AI-generated, according to my detector, and it shows. The characters are NOT who they are supposed to be, the emotions feel fake, and the writing is so mechanical it hurts to read. You didn’t even TRY to make this good, did you? This is a slap in the face to anyone who spends HOURS working on their writing. Why even bother posting something that’s mostly AI junk?"
EDIT: I am aware that this was a bot comment and contacted the real user of that username, they left a comment clearing it up. I am going to keep my post up just so that people can see the effect this has on writers and the community. Thank you everyone for your kind words and your information it means a lot <3

Professors as Social Media Platforms
1. Severus Snape — Tumblr (dark mode, obviously)
Unsearchable username. Reblogs potion disasters and gothic poetry at 2AM. No tags. No comments. Just layered emotional trauma and an occasional hex.
“He’s been online this whole time. He just never speaks.”
2. Minerva McGonagall — LinkedIn (with terrifying precision)
A CV so flawless it terrifies Ministry recruiters. Endorses Transfiguration and Professional Decency.
“Tenure: Eternal. Patience: Exhausted.”
3. Albus Dumbledore — Reddit
Knows everything. Posts nothing. Occasionally leaves cryptic comments that start philosophical wars.
“User prophecyWatcher_1865 strikes again.”
4. Sybill Trelawney — Pinterest (but cursed)
Boards full of teacup patterns, celestial charts, and unsettling predictions. Half aesthetic, half apocalyptic.
“Today’s vibe: Death… or a new beginning.”
5. Filius Flitwick — Duolingo
Tiny. Cheerful. Slightly too enthusiastic about correct pronunciation. Your streak is his pride and joy.
“Ten points to Ravenclaw for properly rolled Rs!”
6. Pomona Sprout — YouTube (gardening side of the internet)
Uploads low-res but heartwarming videos about herbology. Comments are wholesome chaos.
“This video taught me to love magical compost. Thank you, Professor!”
7. Remus Lupin — WordPress (password protected blog)
Wrote three brilliant posts in 2006. Hasn’t updated since. Still logs in weekly just to reread the comments.
“It was always about the subtext.”
8. Gilderoy Lockhart — Instagram (blue-tick energy)
Heavily filtered. All selfies, no substance. Somehow still gets brand deals from Flourish & Blotts.
“New wand, same charming smile! 💫✨”
9. Dolores Umbridge — Nextdoor
Uses all caps. Reports students for breathing too loud. Wants to ban Centaur-owned businesses.
“Just a neighbourly reminder: no loitering on school grounds after 6PM.”
10. Horace Slughorn — X (formerly Twitter, still self-important)
Knows exactly who to follow and when to retweet. Every post sounds like a dinner party anecdote. Only uses “exclusive” group chats.
“Ah yes, I taught her! Bright girl. Very tweetable.”
11. Rubeus Hagrid — Facebook (but only uses it for photos of magical creatures)
Every post starts with “Bless ‘em.” Half blurry selfies, half emotional rants about dragons. Comments on your post just to say “proud of yeh.”
“Tha’s Fang in his wee jumper. Don’t he look smart?”
12. Poppy Pomfrey — NHS Online (but with magic and no patience)
Diagnoses in 0.5 seconds. Treats in 0.2. You leave the ward cured… and slightly afraid.
“Mr Weasley, this is not a hotel.”
13. Professor Binns — Wikipedia (but the 2004 version)
Outdated. Uneditable. And somehow still being cited. Monotone delivery. Nobody knows when he last logged out.
“Still loading… eternally.” Then… “He died mid-sentence and the syllabus didn’t even notice.”
14. Rolanda Hooch — Strava (but make it brooms)
She tracks your flight patterns and your attitude. Will not hesitate to bench you mid-air.
“You crash it, you clean it.”
15. Quirinus Quirrell — YouTube (Conspiracy Channel Edition)
Starts with potion reviews. Ends in full possession. Comments turned off. For safety.
“This went from ‘fun facts’ to ‘run fast’ real quick.”
16. Alastor Moody — Telegram (but for ex-Aurors only)
Locked. Paranoid. Sends seven messages when you say “hi.” Profile picture is just his magical eye.
“CONSTANT VIGILANCE. Even in group chats.”
⸻ 🐾 Bonus
Argus Filch — Maintenance Admin page Mrs Norris — CCTV in feline form
🧹 Filch — Admin Dashboard (password: pain) Only logs in to block students. 🚨 Mrs Norris — Notification System (with claws) Silent. All-seeing. And somehow already behind you. “Student presence detected. Begin glaring.”

I often think I'm too lazy online nowadays. Often feeling very sedentary and stuff online... I know precisely the factors that cause it too: it's me having lost my old tablet close to three years, and me also making this account around that exact same time. Because so much stress hit me at one time, it all turned into a series of deeply rooted fears. One of these is a fear of the passage of time. One is a fear of being all alone one day. But the important one to discuss today is the fear of being incredibly lazy online.
I know that 2021 was almost 4-5 years ago, but it still feels like when things were last calm and normal for me. My mom was alive, I didn't have this account, I was comfortable with online schooling and my old tablet was still working. Within the last few years, all of that changed. I lost one of my only close friends and confidants (my mom), I gained a social media account here (which has had some positives and some negatives), I had to go back to school and face my fears of growing older, and I've lost my old tablet. All these things still haunt me today.
The tablet thing perpetually haunts me. I use stupid AI chatbots, I stay on my dashboard on here, I read comics. That's pretty much all I do. I mean... there are actually more exceptions, but that's all my brain registers when i'm feeling miserable. And I remember that years ago, I used to browse wikis, lurk and browse blogs on here, read the occasional fanfiction, etc. I barely do any of that now, and so I feel constant guilt and shame. It's not very nice or pleasant to experience, but it is true, nonetheless. And so I just feel... always sedentary or lazy, and nothing anyone can say or do helps persuade me otherwise. It's awful. sigh...

I'm definitely guilty of poor time management (witness my being on Tumblr right now...), but it's exacerbated by there being just so much to fit into my time. I thought I finally had a free day to pull up some of my writing manuscripts on Wednesday, only to see I have a committee meeting noon to 1:30, just where it will be most disruptive. Doesn't mean I can't do any writing/revising on Wednesday...but it sure feels like I can't.
