i don't know who needs to hear this, but guilt, self-hatred and shame are not sustainable sources of growth and healing. you can't hate yourself into feeling better, or being better. you can't repeatedly punish yourself for your flawed humanity and expect wholesome results.

Recovery from a medical condition or surgery can be challenging, requiring comprehensive care and support. The critical role of skilled nursing in-home recovery processes cannot be overstated, especially for those utilizing home health services in Burbank, California. Skilled nurses provide the expertise and compassion necessary to maximize recovery outcomes, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care in the comfort of their homes.

It's okay to 'grieve' things that aren't just death. I've allowed myself to grieve a friendship ending, a situationship, losing something important to me, etc. It's okay to give yourself time to process the loss of something. Grief looks different for everyone, try to find a way that works for you to help make it easier for you.

You are going to laugh until your stomach hurts again. You're going to be in awe of a sunset. Watch your favorite show while you eat your favorite food. Find money on the street. Discover a great band you haven't heard of before. You will find your way back.

You have to stop ruining things for yourself preemptively because you believe they’ll fail anyway. Give yourself a chance to succeed.

Quick question- when is leo not gonna suffer in your aftermath comic? Cause DUDE. when will he see the day.
He has his good days and his bad days, but soon actually. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I’m a sucker for happy endings. The thing with mental health is that it’s not a straight line. There are times when you feel like you’re cured and times when you wonder if you’ll ever get better.
Sometimes, people need that final, hard push before they really commit to making a change. I don’t want to give away too much, but Leo will get there, I promise. The most important thing is to not treat mental health like it’s all in your head, like it’s something that isn’t serious.
It’s like taking care of any physical wound. You have to keep resting, keep tending to the cuts to avoid infection, and seek help if things get worse. PTSD and recovery isn’t easy, but it can be done, and I don’t think Leo is the type to quit.

Slow down, it's ok. Very few things in life are absolute
Deadlines can be flexible, career paths are flexible, relationships become close and far and close again, it's all going to be ok

self-improvement should be because you want to improve your quality of life, not because you feel or think you *need* to be better in order to be loved or allowed to live. there's no end goal with self-improvement, it's easy to dig yourself a grave when you don't realize that you're not on a ticking clock to be the 'best version of yourself'. all you need to strive to do is be the version of yourself you are the most happy with. find out what values you find important, what kind of friend do you want to be, how do you want to react to things. what are things that would improve the way you go about life? what would make life easier, better and more enjoyable for you?

Stopping yourself mid-conflict to change your perspective is allowed! It’s okay and normal to be mid argument with someone and realize you disagree with your own stance. Often I find myself and others caught up in trying to win the argument (not the point of arguments!) or too embarrassed to back down and be wrong. I promise there is so much more pride in going “Stop! I’m wrong. I hear you and I see how I wasn’t in the right and I want to amend my view” than digging your heels in.

To anyone who was suicidal at age 14 or younger, here’s your permission to grieve. Here’s your permission to not joke about it or just flat out ignore it. Here’s your permission to acknowledge that lost child who felt way more pain than any child should ever feel. You’re allowed to cry for that child, whether you healed or are still suffering the same thoughts. Finally allow yourself to grieve for that child filled with undeserved hurt.
