September 11 - A day jam packed
September 11 is one of those days in which an odd amount of historically important things happen. Let's give a (very brief) run down of what happened during the AmRev!
In 1775, the future turncoat (but currently respected) Benedict Arnold left for Quebec from Massachusetts, where he would meet up with other detachments under the commander of General Montgomery.
In 1776, a peace conference was held on Staten Island, with Lord Admiral Richard Howe, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Edward Rutledge in attendence. They convened after only three hours, with Howe unable to grant recognition of independence that the rebels sought.
In 1777, the Battle of Brandywine (Creek) took place, one of my personal favorite battles. Despite valiant effort, the Continental Army, under command of Washington, was outmaneuvered by William Howe. Brandywine was one of the largest individual battles of the war and lasted an outstanding eleven hours. Among numerous other anecdotes, the Marquis de Lafayette was shot through the thigh and continued to fight until he was pulled off the field.

These images aren’t mine, they’re from the Wayne Family Adventures comic on Webtoon. I just used them as they’re easy identifiers of each character, also in the same style.
