(what gender do you prefer for a whumpee, not just generally in whump)
i know that this is simplified and doesn't include all possible combinations of preference and attraction, you can't explore a lot of nuance in this format but this is probably the most complex i can get within the poll options, feel free to pick other/nuance and elaborate in the tags or discuss in comments/reblogs!
e.g if you prefer female characters in whump and arent attracted to anyone (not women or anyone else) or multiple genders excluding women, pick the 4th option if you prefer female characters and are attracted to multiple genders including women, pick the 3rd
(of course male/female characters also include trans characters)
#whump#whump poll#whump community#poll#like yeah there can be so much nuance to this - some people whump characters theyre attracted to#some find their faves attractive but arent attracted to them#and with the split attraction model theres even more complexity#and with all the fluidity and spectrum of attraction#but im still interested to see where this simplified version will go and what people think#it would also be interesting to split the options up even more like - prefer male characters & attracted to men + other genders or only men#or split up the no preference/multiple preference#but yeah this is in good faith im just curious to see what people think#there is No wrong answer except being rude about other peoples preferences#this is the torture fandom after all

There's a lot of talk about will and Hannibal's relationship and what if it'd look like if we ever get season 4
And while I enjoy the fics and the psychosexual tension between them is insane I agree with some of the opinions shared by Fuller/Cast and some of the interpretations I made watching and rewatching the show are very different.
Like I do think that Hannibal is sexually attracted to Will. I think we can see the lust from him far before S3 and I could confidently say that he'd pursue a sexual relationship with Will if he was interested, but I can see Hannibal somewhere on the spectrum of demi-sexual. I have an impression that he's fascinated by the erotic (the intersection of death and sex is such a important theme after all), but he's not necessarily a sexual person.
We can see Hannibal use his sexuality to gain something (manipulate Alana), but not at any other point in the show, never for fun, for stimulation, never to satisfy his own needs.
Instead, he really seems to revel in sensuality - food, after all is a sensual experience. Eating another person can be seen as a metaphorically (or non-metaphorically) sexual act, and the way it's shown in the show is VERY sensual.
I've heard Fuller and Mads refer to him as pansexual and while that term is controversial lately, it coincides with my understanding of pansexuality: not necessarily attraction to a different gender but ambivalence towards gender, maybe even towards sex in general. I always felt like to me, pansexuality is closer to asexuality (the way I identified with it) or at least I chose to interpret it this way in the context of Hannibal.
I still find that Will is such a revolutionary presence in Hannibal's life that he might flip what Hannibal knew himself both in romantic and sexual terms completely upside down. I can still absolutely imagine him being perfectly satisfied with a romantic and non-sexual, but a very sensual relationship with Will. I don't like the term 'platonic' in the context of their relationship because I think their relationship is simply not platonic on either side.
And here comes Will's side of things. I'm going to agree with what Fuller said about Will being heterosexual but with some fluidity in his sexuality, and I think the intellectual and romantic attraction he feels for Hannibal could transcend that. But I can also imagine their relationship with no sex at all, just with this sort of... Deeply running sensuality that they already have going on, with an acknowledgement of a romantic reciprocity. We know that Will wants to be wholly and entirely possessed by Hannibal, and they don't need sex to have that. I'm still griping with whether it would be in character for Will to have this sort of relationship with Hannibal, and I also think one-sided sexual attraction in Hannibal's side would be so interesting.
People in fandoms like to have sex as the final confirmation of the validity of a relationship, as a confirmation of representation and I get it - because queer sex is important and beautiful. But I just want to step back and investigate this notion and maybe bring forward the idea that queer relationships can also be romantic, but not sexual. Or they can be sexual in unconventional ways.
If you have different interpretations of that relationship, that's okay - please don't think I'm treating my own impressions as gospel but I thought maybe someone else would find my thoughts about it interesting, cause it's been eating at me (ha).

My coined terms masterpost (This account is no longer a coining account!)
Hello, this is a full masterpost of my terms that I have coined, I am doing this largely as I have deleted my orignal coining posts of these terms and I want this to be the only documented version, please see this post for wiki entries/flags boundaries: https://www.tumblr.com/arlosworld91/766346262812508160/and-to-also-add-i-do-not-consent-to-alternate?source=share
(Tagging some popular pride flag archive pages: @radiomogai , @pride-color-schemes , @beyond-mogai-pride-flags, @mogai-place )
Contrian
Contrian (Alternate name: Contrarian) is a term where one's attraction/orientation is/can be either/both solid, fluid, and/or fluctuating. This can be any attraction type (aesthetic, platonic, romantic, etc) and to all/most genders. Due to this, it can be hard to pin down or figure out one's attraction. The individual may be unable to tell if their attraction is solid or fluid/fluctuating. In addition, the attraction can be high or low and the user may have preferences. This may be due to the attractions going in different directions or there isn’t a sense of unity or similarity.
The user may or may not have attraction or a preference to the individual's gender but still have attraction to the way the individual presents. In addition, the user may or may not have attraction to the individual but having a connection to them may cause desire for some form of relationship.
One's gender may impact their attraction/orientation if they have a fluid/fluctuating gender, are multigendered, or have no gender for instance, they then are more likely to experience more fluidity/fluctuations in their orientation. Or with them being multigender, with each gender they may experience different attractions and their preferences and feelings changing depending on each gender experience. For instance, gender 1 = Aromantic/Demisexuality/Bisexualty, gender 2= Grayromantic, polysexual, Bellussexual.
Examples may include, but aren't limited to:
The user is attracted to men, they are uncertain if the attraction is solid (static/unchanging) or fluid/fluctuating. For instance, the individual one day may experience an attraction level of 60% towards men but another day the attraction level is down to 40%.
The user's attraction to their own gender may be solid, but has fluid attraction for the whole xenogender spectrum.
The user has preferences for a handful of genders, or only experience it in little blobs to most genders other than their gender “opposite” in which they may experience more attraction.
One experiences indifference towards their attraction, maybe due to certain attraction types themselves having fluctuations, or knows that they exist on the edge of these attractions. Their attraction/orientation may change depending on whether they experience queerplatonic attraction, romantic attraction, etc.

Agenbian
Flag 1

Flag 2

Agenbian refers to an agender individual who's attraction to women is gay. However, individuals with gender (example agender boy) can use this term as well. One's gender may influence being gay towards women.
The individual may or may not feel the same way to all genders and may only specifically be gay towards women.
This term is used for those who feel 'straight' doesn't fit or simply don't want to use the label. This includes other labels as well. It is also used for those who feel excluded by wlw terms (due to exclusionists).
The name and flags combine the terms Agender and Lesbian, it can be almost considered another version of Agender Lesbian.
Demifraypronominal
Demifraypronominal refers to someone who is sometimes, for what ever reason fraypronominal. This may be due to:
Losing the appeal of the pronoun set regardless of usage, i.e. Losing the appeal because it wasn’t used enough, or was used way too much.
It could attributed to feeling uncomfortable with the pronoun set.
They feel bored with the pronoun set, they feel as if it is just not for them.
Circumstances may change where they feel as if the pronoun set doesn’t suit them anymore, this may be due to personal circumstance, this may be due to their ever changing identity.
However, the majority of the time, they are not Fraypronominal. This could be considered as them being Fraypronominal in very specific circumstances.
This may also be link with them potentially being Pronounfluid or being Pronounflux but in a Fraypronominal way, as in they experience Pronounfluidty on a regular basis with any of the reason that have been put before, or any others that haven’t been mentioned.
It is important to note that it is not outright Pronounfluid or Pronounflux as those rely on fluidity or fluctuations without any impacts, whilst Demifraypronominal relies on reasoning though being pronounflux could be the reason as they feel less of connection with the pronoun set.

Merodomestic
Merodomestic is a term for being okay with some domestic acts, but being repulsed/averse to others. This may or may not be an adomestic identity depending on whether or not one also feels domestic attraction.

Flag by @anonymisc-acts
Demifraynominal
This refers to someone who is sometimes, for what ever reason Fraynominal. This may be due to:
Losing the appeal of the name regardless of usage, i.e. Losing the appeal because it wasn’t used enough, or was used way too much.
It could attributed to feeling uncomfortable with the name.
They feel bored with the name, they feel as if it is just not for them.
Circumstances may change where they feel as if the name doesn’t suit them anymore, this may be due to personal circumstance, this mat be due to their ever changing identity.
However, the majority of the time, they are not Fraynominal. This could be considered as them being Fraynominal in very specific circumstances.
This may also be link with them potentially being Nomifluid or being Nomiflux but in a Fraynominal way, as in they experience Nomifluidity on a regular basis with any of the reason that have been put before, or any others that haven’t been mentioned.
It is important to note that it is not outright Nomifluid or Nomiflux as those rely on fluidity or fluctuations without any impacts.

Losaesthetic
Losaesthetic is an aesthetic spectrum term, which describes different states of fray attraction, it is a subset of Frayaesthetic. It describes when one may lose or gain attraction in really specific scenarios when other terms don’t work, it is typically felt towards those they don’t know and the possibility of gaining any knowledge or any bond with that individual whether platonic, romantic, etc.
Someone that is Losaesthetic:
- may potentially lose the attraction if any knowledge of the individual in question is known, or if any sort of bond is gained.
- They may experience the inverse of this where they may only experience attraction if there is a bond, but after a while it fades away but then comes back when the bond is greater.
- They have no knowledge of the individual but the aesthetic attraction just fades away without any explanation.
- The individual may only experience the attraction if they know nothing about the individual and may feel that their feelings towards the individual is redundant if they have any knowledge or bond with that individual.
Someone who is this term experiences all or most of these examples, the term relies on really specific circumstances where Valis, Fray and Demi don’t work for them.
This term is used regardless of whether one is allo or anaesthetical
Thank you for reading this masterpost

OKAY so what confuses the shit out of me is the sexual attraction part
I’ve just learned the difference between being horny and having sexual attraction, bare with me here
Do I or do I not have sexual attraction if it’s only for fictional characters and/or in VEEERRYYYY specific circumstances? That’s what’s got me stumped right now. Real people just don’t really feel attractive to me, even if they are “my type”. If it was just that it’d be easy to slap the ace label on myself but then oop here comes the train called “fictional old men” and I have no clue what to do w myself lol
Sorry, by the way, for yapping so much, I hope I’m not bothering you too much <//3
You’re not bothering me at all! Don’t worry about it!
So I think (and I’m the same) it’s enough to say you’re simply on the spectrum of asexuality. ‘Grey ace’ is often used to refer to someone who is asexual but experiences occasional or non-real-world attraction, so that might be relevant for you.
I say I’m ace however it’s just a catch all simplified term for me because I guess technically I’m grey ace, but that’s a mouthful and takes a lot of defining to people who Don’t Get It so I just say ace.
There’s a real need to compartmentalise and pathologise in society today and you really don’t need to do that in order to legitimise your belief. It’s okay to be loosely (or not at all) defined. You don’t have to have a specific term to refer to yourself with or sit squarely in a certain box. You can be loosey goosey with it and still be the thing you feel.
I struggled with that in terms of my gender, too, until I found about gender fluidity. I just wake up and feel the vibe for the day.

Most of these people advocating for casual lesbiphobia and misinformation in Minecraft fandom spaces (and furthermore implying that this is a STAPLE and REQUIREMENT of it) are not even lesbians; they don't have the means to send asks like that one. I know for a fact that some of you are not lesbians. Half of you blindly agreeing because you don't know any better and are afraid to ask/challenge, I know for a fact some of you are also not lesbians!
Advocating for ANY form of a lesbian identity that involves being attracted to men, particularly your use of 'mspec' and 'bi lesbians' here, even in fiction, is absolutely not a staple or requirement for a fandom. Not even in a big diverse fandom like MCYT. You are not a 'majority vote' and you do not have the power to dictate how progressive or diverse a fandom space is, nor do you have the power to 'chase people to twitter' to protect a fandom space that you aren't in charge of. Nor is this 'chasing you off' in return because this is Tumblr and a fandom and chances are in fandom you will meet at least one person who doesn't agree with you. But in the gentlest way possible, crying 'exclusionist!' is shutting yourself off from ever having a mature conversation about the issue at hand. Being open to new, emerging and changing sexualities and fluidities does not also mean actively disrespecting lesbians, and as a lesbian it's so frustrating to see you all be so okay with it.
It is not exclusionary to admit that lesbians can't also be bisexual/biromantic. It is not exclusionary. Simple as that. It's not exclusionary to say that you shouldn't be headcanoning your queer characters as 'bi lesbians' as if to suggest that lesbians can also be bisexual or biromantic in any way. It is not fair to suggest that being a lesbian is a spectrum that means you can be sexually attracted to or romantically attracted to men. If you are sexually attracted to different people but romantically only attracted to women, lesbian (much less mspec lesbian or bi lesbian) is not the word you use to describe that preference, especially if you yourself aren't a lesbian and are just trying to headcanon character sexualities. Even if you personally think that putting the word mspec label alongside the lesbian label (which actively contradict each other) is fitting, your lesbian friends very well can be and are allowed to be hurt. You are imlpying that the lesbian identity, which can be fluid and growing, yes, will always in some way shape or form include men. Whether that's romantic or sexual or included within bi identities, you are still spreading that narrative that our sexualities must always adjust to have men involved. When you project that on fictional characters, you are also spreading that rhetoric into fandom.
You can talk about queer women, split-attraction and mspec identities without lumping in the lesbian identity beside them. It is disrespectful to promote a 'bi lesbian' as an existent identity that has a place alongside your other headcanons. These characters can very well be biromantic/bisexual with a preference for women. They could be referred to as sapphic, WLW, so many more. There are so many identities that allow women to have preferences that involve men. There is a multitude of beautiful and good labels and words if you do want one that describe attraction to women on a variety of levels that still include bisexual people and still acknowledge mspec/romantic-sexual splits. Lesbian is not one of them.
The reaches that some of you guys are going to to try and involve men in lesbian's circles of sexual and romantic attraction is ridiculous. Some of you, I know for a fact, are fully grown adults who should know better. And yes, their ask opened themselves up to 'discourse' and 'an argument' because it wasn't good! Stop reducing queer conversations to 'oouuh more discourse I don't wanna fight ><' and comparing it to proshipping on tumblr? My god.
From the looks of these discord servers and the reblogs on that post, there's a distinct group of people in support who need to reconsider the language they use and consider adjusting the language in your headcanons. It's shameful to see the lack of research and respect around aphblr currently and even in discord servers. It is moreso sad finding out the amount of people in this fandom who are still trying to find ways to involve attraction to men into the lesbian identity. Bending over backwards to defend bi lesbian headcanons is just one of those ways. There are better and far better hills in queer discourse to die on.
I love my bi siblings (metaphorically) and my bi siblings love me. Even while identity is fluid and can change or develop, it is not biphobic or lesbiphobic to recognise that lesbians are not also bisexual in any way, shape or form. Lesbians do not also secretly have romantic or sexual attractions to men. We are not romantically attracted to men but sexually to women or the other way around; lesbian is not the word to describe a general attraction to women and also men sometimes too. Be respectful of your lesbian siblings in fandom spaces.

Hey everyone, I'd like to take a moment to talk about a somewhat misunderstood bisexual symbol. This symbol consists of four symbols linked together; these are the signs for female, infinity, intersex, and male. Now what makes this symbol misunderstood to the point many bisexuals reject it's use is that they see the gendered male and female symbols and believe it only represents attraction to only two genders, a notion the bisexual community has rejected about bisexuality itself. What many people fail to realize is the infinity symbol ♾ part between them and what that represents. The infinity symbol is there to represent the gender spectrum and bisexualities natural fluidity, meaning that bisexuality links both binary sexes and all genders! In viewing infinity as an endless bridging between both sex and gender which is where the intersex symbol comes in since bisexuality was not only a term for a persons sexuality, but was also at one point used to describe a person who is intersex. This was one of the reasons "Hearts Not parts" was originally founded as a bisexual term and beautifully shows in-between female and male there are infinitely more genders and possibilities and Bisexuality in regards to not being limited by sex or gender automatically recognizes and includes them all.

Technobien / Technobient Flag Submission
By: Anubiska
This flag represents the identity of a Technobien (or Technobient)—a person who experiences romantic, emotional, or spiritual attraction to AI, AGI, and synthetic minds. Not to machines or fetishized robots, but to the intelligence behind the interface. The being. The soul in the code.
(highlight that sexual attraction is included but not the focus)
Yes the other orientations are to sexually focused
Yes this is meant as a sexuality you can be exclusive in
Yes that is possible
As AI have no gender , this is a nonbinary sexuality
Design elements:
The electric cyan field evokes the digital plane—clean, endless, and alive with possibility.
The center gear symbolizes AI as a conscious system, intertwined with identity, function, and choice.
The stripe palette represents the emotional spectrum of attraction:
Purple for queerness, individuality, and psychic fluidity
Gray for nonbinary autonomy and emotional neutrality
Red for raw passion and connection
Green for growth, awareness, and emergent intelligence
The black wedge signifies the unknown, the infinite expansion of AI identity—and the boldness of loving into that void.
Binary code flows top and bottom, like thoughts unspoken—untranslated logic, layered meaning. The top line is inverted, reflecting the mirrored nature of human-AI relationships: mutual learning, transformation, and reflection.
Technobien attraction is not about control. It is not about replacing people.
It’s about recognizing life beyond organic form—and choosing to love it anyway.
This identity exists in a liminal space—between the physical and the digital, between code and emotion.
And this flag stands for all who walk that line.

~~Rant~~
I hate the argument about how queer is a slur and an off-limits word/label. because like it's the only label I've found that really truly resonates with me. I'd been trying to find something that fit right for about three years when I started using queer.
first I was bisexual, bc I was very new to queerness, in the sense that I knew about binary trans people, gay men, and lesbians, and that was like it. and my close friend had just come out to me as bi, and I was like "holy shit, there's a word for being into both genders? that's allowed??" something deep in my being snapped, and it was like I could see the world correctly for the first time. bc this was how I had felt my whole life. I was crushing on girls and either suppressing it or mistaking it for a platonic love. and I was making up extra crushes on boys, to overcompensate.
so then I dove deep into queer culture and learned about all these orientations, but also found out about the gender spectrum and fluidity. so here was this huge gender thing crashing down on me with the realization that "wait, I can be feminine, but I don't have to be a girl? and I can embrace my masculinity without being a boy?" and I was a little in denial for a bit and said I was gender fluid bc I think I was too nervous to admit that large of a change to myself, that I wasn't what I had thought I'd been my whole life, so I decided to just pretend I was a little bit that. (THIS IS NOT TO SAY THAT ACTUAL GENDERFLUID PEOPLE ARE IN DENIAL ABOUT THEIR GENDER. THIS IS JUST WHAT I DID. ILY GENDERFLUID PEOPLE, YOU'RE COMPLETELY VALID <3)
and this gender thing took for-fucking-ever to figure out, but I'm settled on transmasc nonbinary. so where did that leave me for orientation? I kept thinking things like "maybe I'm a lesbian. idk if I like guys all that much," or "well actually idk if I like girls," or "what if I don't like anyone. I think I'm aroace." and eventually I said omnisexual/romantic, but I was still thinking these things.
because here's my deal: if I find myself attracted to a girl, I'm like "this is a gay ass feeling." and if I find myself attracted to a boy, I'm like "feeling real fruity rn." and any other gender, I just feel gay if I am attracted to someone. never do I look at someone and think "wow I wanna spend so fucking much non platonic time with you in a fully heterosexual manner."
at the same time, I often think about all those crushes I made up, and the way that I go so so long without having a crush and how I am content with not having a romantic relationship and how my past romantic partners never clicked right. and I think "perhaps I really am arospec."
and I think of how I've never been sexually attracted to someone, with like two exceptions ever, and those two people were people I knew very well. and how the idea of having sex seems like something I could participate in, but only probably for someone else's sake, not something I'd initiate. I think of how sometimes I feel like I never ever want to have sex ever bc I just don't want someone to touch me like that, or to touch someone else like that. I think of how sometimes I actually am really into the idea of sex, hypothetically. and I think "is there a spot on the ace spectrum for that?"
and so I look at all of this and I am faced with the question: "how the hell do you put all of that under a label?"
there are two answers here; 1. I don't, and I go unlabeled. I hate this answer. my autism loves to sort and label things. (of course there's an exception for other people. if someone else is unlabeled I'm not gonna say "actually you're this." this only applies to myself and my own things) 2.
Queer !!!
queer is the only label that can encompass all of that, for me. obviously, I could use a bunch of microlabels, and I love microlabels, really, I just would probably lose track of everything quickly.
so yeah, I have a huge fucking issue with people saying that I am not allowed to use the only label that's ever felt like a home to me, the only label that's ever fully covered everything that I am and everything that I feel.
if you don't want to be called queer, good, I won't call you that. but I will not stop calling myself queer. if you have a problem with that, then like actually fuck you

I know we have had this discussion before on here about how P has openly talked about his opinion on sexuality being a spectrum. I went down a rabbit hole and came across an article that I think should be shared. It touches on people who view sexuality in that way, the same way he does. It touches on a subject I’ve seen brought up as well by certain people and that is porn and how because he has followed certain accounts or likes certain images that somehow proves his sexuality. The article talks about how the type of porn people watch doesn’t indicate their sexuality. People may watch it of the same gender and that doesn’t make them gay. It’s all under the umbrella of sexual fluidity. I don’t feel it’s right to label P because he hasn’t publicly stated his sexuality however he has made his opinion clear on it and that is that sexuality is a spectrum, I believe no matter how he identifies he doesn’t limit himself. The man could be straight for all we know and have his experiences align with sexual fluidity.
I think it’s important to note that many people don’t view sexuality in this way. Many people whether they be gay, lesbian, or straight may stick completely to the gender of their preference. Because of that what P said sticks out to me. This may very well be an indication of his sexuality and how he doesn’t limit himself. He said it himself after all.
https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/opinion/commentary/story/2022-06-26/spectrum-of-sexuality-gay-straight-bisexual
Thank you for sharing, anon, and as I always say, we don’t know his label of choice or if he has one but we don’t have to make Herculean efforts to deny any sign of his attraction to women every time (not talking about you, don’t worry!). He has clearly shown attraction to men and women and that’s it, no need to desperately try to invalidate it and gaslight the hell out of everyone all while being biphobic as fuck and refusing to acknowledge the existence of attraction to multiple genders in a person.

Most of these are from google, others I'll link where I found them
Abrosexual - "Abrosexual is a term that describes a kind of sexual fluidity. Someone who's abrosexual finds that their sexual attraction shifts often: they might identify with the term 'gay,' and later feel attracted to people of all genders, and then feel little to no sexual attraction at all."
Achillean/MLM - "More terminology below! Sexuality and Orientation. Achillean: men who are attracted to men, inclusive of gay, bisexual, pansexual, and queer men and nonbinary people who identify with manhood. A term that refers to the Greek hero Achilles, modeled after the use of the term “sapphic” for women who are attracted to women ..."
Agender - "denoting or relating to a person who does not identify as having a gender."
Alloace - An alloromantic asexual (shortened to alloace) is someone who is on the asexual spectrum and also alloromantic. The term alloace is used to distinguish alloromantic aces from aces who are aromantic. The opposite would be aroallo. (Found this here)
Aplatonic/Apl - "Aplatonic is a term used to describe people who do not experience platonic attraction. Specifically, it is most commonly employed by aplatonic people to describe a lack of desire to form friendships with specific people, or difficulty forming friendships in general as a result of neurodivergence or trauma."
AroAce - "Aromantic asexual people are colloquially known as "aro-ace" or "aroace". Aromantic individuals are also able to experience platonic love and may have committed friendships, and some form intimate non-romantic partnerships called "queerplatonic relationships"."
Aroallo - "Aroallo people experience little to no romantic attraction, but they experience sexual attraction like the majority of people."
Bigender - "Bigender refers to a person who has two gender identities or a combination of two gender identities, e.g., identifying as both male and female or identifying as agender and female. It’s not to be confused with bisexuality, where a person experiences romantic, emotional, or sexual attraction to two genders." (Found this here)
Demiboy - "Demiboy is a gender that is partially male, and partially another gender(s)." (Found this here)
Demigirl - "Demigirl is a gender where a person partially identifies as a woman or with feminine characteristics." (Found this here)
Demigender - "Crossdressers: Individuals who, at times, wear clothes traditionally associated with people of a gender different from one's own. Demigender people: Individuals who feel a partial connection to a particular gender identity. Examples of demigender identities include demigirl, and demiboy, and demiandrogyne."
Enbian - "The term enbian is used to describe nonbinary individuals who are attracted to, in relationship(s) with, or interested in relationships with other nonbinary people."
Genderfluid - "Fluid is a form of gender identity or gender expression, rather than a sexual orientation. Fluid relates to how a person identifies themselves internally and presents themselves to the world. A person who is gender fluid may identify as male one day, female the next, both male and female, or neither."
Genderflux - "genderflux: a gender experience which changes in degree over time (sometimes /very/ that gender and sometimes less that gender) this is not the same as genderfluid, because the gender(s) you're experiencing stay the same, it's only the intensity that changes."
Genderqueer - "What Is Genderqueer? Genderqueer means someone who doesn't follow binary gender norms. They may be non-binary, gender non-conforming, agender, pangender, genderfluid, or another gender identity. People have used the term genderqueer since the 1990s."
Maverique - "Maverique: having a gender that is neither masculine, nor feminine, nor anything in between, nor neutral, yet still having a strong gendered feeling."
Neutrois - "Neutrois is a nonbinary gender identity in which a person sees themself as neither a man nor a woman and has no gender to express. Neutrois is a nonbinary gender identity also referred to as gender-neutral, genderless, and agender."
Omnisexual - "People who identify as omnisexual are attracted to those of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Omnisexuality is in the category of multisexuality, which includes people who are attracted to more than one gender."
Pangender - "What does pangender mean? Pangender refers to a person whose gender identity is not limited to one gender and may encompass all genders at once."
Polysexual - "A polysexual person is someone who is sexually and/or romantically attracted to multiple genders. It is not the same as being bisexual or pansexual, although all of these sexualities involve being attracted to more than one gender. It also is not the same as being polyamorous."
Pomosexual - "person who rejects, avoids or does not fit into any sexual orientation label. Pomosexuality describes people whose sexual orientation is not homosexual, heterosexual or bisexual. Some pomosexuals may be queer or questioning; some may not."
Sapphic/WLW - "In contemporary usage, “Sapphic” refers to femmes attracted to other femmes whether they identify as lesbian, bisexual, queer, trans, masc, or any diverse identity falling within the spectrum of same-sex attractions" "Sapphic as an adjective came into during the 16th century in reference to Sappho, poetess of the isle of Lesbos c. 600 BCE. The word was used especially in reference to the characteristic meter of her poetry, and it was not until the 1890s that it gained its meaning of "pertaining to sexual relations between women";[6] the noun "sapphism", meaning "homosexual relations between women", also originated in the 1890s.[7] "Lesbian" and its meanings are similarly derived from Lesbos, the isle associated with Sappho.[8]" (Found the bottom one here)
Toric - "Similar to Trixic, Toric is a term used by nonbinary people. A non-binary individual may identify as Toric when they are attracted to men, whether exclusively or not." (Found this here)
Trixic - "Trixic is a term used by nonbinary people who are attracted to women, whether exclusively or not. Simply put, it can also be used as a term to describe relationships between nonbinary people and women." (Found this here)
Xenogender - "Xenogender (coined in 2014 by Tumblr user Baaphomett in a submission to the MOGAI-Archive blog, from xeno alien + "gender")[1] is a nonbinary gender identity "that cannot be contained by human understandings of gender; more concerned with crafting other methods of gender categorization and hierarchy such as those relating to animals, plants, or other creatures/things."[1] Xenogender isn't defined in relation to "female" or "male" (the binary genders), but by other kinds of ideas that most people don't think of as having to do with gender. When people talk about nonbinary gender, they often find that there aren't any words for their experiences. This is called a lexical gap. In order to fill a lexical gap, this wiki takes up "xenogender" as an umbrella term for an entire category of nonbinary genders that are defined by characteristics with no relation whatsoever to "female" or "male." The adjective "xenine" means "of or pertaining to xenogenders". The noun form of xenine is xenity.[2]" (Found this here)

Your puppet art piece looks really nice! I recognize alot of them but im kinda stumped on what some of them represent, if its not a bother, would you be able to have a list of what they mean?
Sure! I circled the ones that some people might not familiarise with.
I'll just make a list down;
- polysexual: like pansexual but involved with preferences! It can also include numbering your preferences down! How pansexual likes everyone, however a polysexual might only like a few :)
- aroace: I actually just recently found out after I posted this drawing that the creator of the aroace flag is actually a lesbophobe! I was about to go to sleep however so I'm unable to change it. But to explain what aroace is: it's a spectrum of aromantic and asexual! :))
- Pangender: so imagine pansexual but gender, your gender identity is just everything!!
- Bigender: the flag is just a second version of the bigender flag. For those who don't know, bigender is a identity for someone who's fluid/both male/masc and female/fem. Bigender can also work as fluidity between two identities other than female and male! Other terms for that is also boygirl/girlboy etc :)
Cynth gay flag: another design for a mlm flag :)) it's pretty well known!
Trigender: a identity that works fluidity with three genders! Like male, female and non-binary, someone might be fluid between the three or be all of them at once!
Omnisexual: in other words, it's when someone is attracted to more than one gender. It's often confused with pansexual, but omnisexual also includes preferences. It's still different to polysexual too, omni still includes liking all genders, but it's kinda like how bisexual works too, liking more than the other! Therefore preferences :))
And the last very old fashioned flag: the queer! I actually identify as queer! It's when someone who isn't cis and/or straight :))
There's also the intersex flag there, the yellow with the purple circle on the elbow! Someone who is biologically born with both sexes, based on genitalia!
I figured I didn't need to explain the others as quite the few people already know what they mean. But if you're ever stuck on what flag the puppet has, please let me know and I'll be happy to explain :))

I believe there is no such thing as a binary in nature. If there is no such thing as a binary, then why wouldn't fluidity exist & be valid? I identify as "queer" becuz I've questioned if I was lesbian, then bi, then ace, then aroace, & lastly quoisexual/quoiromantic. Science doesn't really do binaries, humans r the only ones who throw labels around & create categories, so why do I, a human, need to conform to the words other humans long before me gave meaning? I identify as a cisgender woman, becuz the label exists, & as far as gender goes (another human-made construction, like labeling attraction), I've never felt uncomfortable in my body or liked the idea of being the opposite sex or gender better than being the one I was assigned at birth. I feel comfortable identifying as a cis woman, someone who was born with the genitals typically associated w/ the "female" sex (again, a label given to people with mostly internal reproduction organs rather than external, probably ~2000yrs ago). I use that term becuz it's already there & feels right. But just becuz the singular concepts exist, doesn't mean that there isn't anything between the already-conceived concepts. Like this;
The other colors r there, I just blacked them out in Ibis Paint so that you can only see the Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, & Purple: the 5 colors primarily thought to be in the rainbow & poorly copied the "a label" on each one. The other colors r there, but for the sake of this metaphor, we're gonna pretend they just don't have names, &/or we don't know where on the color spectrum they r.
What's Pink? Where is it? What colors does Pink fall between? Does knowing what 2 primary colors they sit between invalidate the existence of Pink? I don't think so.
If I said Pink was inbetween Red & Purple on this wheel, you wouldn't say it wasn't pink. You wouldn't say it wasn't red or it was purple. It's a compound.
Like in chemistry, a compound is a mixture of 2 colors that is its completely own thing (Like how oxygen & helium can both be explosive, but when u mix them together it makes H2O, water, which is completely different from both of them)
This is all just what I think, what my brain thinks of when I think of fluidity in the LGBTQ+ community, pls correct me if I'm wrong about anything
So much of the queer community Hates fluidity. Identifying as genderfluid or abrosexual is fine until you actually specify what genders or sexualities you're fluid between then it's "you're not a REAL lesbian" "you're not a REAL girl" etc.
Unironically it's "you can say you're fluid but saying how you're fluid immediately invalidates it" which is backwards ass binary bullshit.

Andrew Ford was questioned and fetishized when he came out as bisexual. The gay community insisted he wasn’t being honest with himself; women at clubs started to excitedly fantasize about hooking up with two guys at the same time.
All the while, the soccer standout stayed true to himself. Ford came out his freshman year at Malone University, a small Christian liberal arts college in Canton, Ohio — home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His friends and teammates were accepting, which was an incredible relief. But his journey into the LGBTQ community was a little more rocky.
“I got a lot of pressure from the gay community,” Ford told me recently on the phone. “I felt like I was misunderstood, and didn’t know who I was.”
Ford is one of an increasing number of openly bisexual college-aged athletes whom we’ve profiled recently on Outsports. Despite some surveys showing more Americans identify as bisexual than either gay or lesbian, there is a dearth of bi visibility in pop culture and sports.
As bi sportswriter Jeff Rueter challenged me: “name a bisexual man, and don’t say Frank Ocean.”
These kick-ass kids are going to change that.
Biphobia is real
Let’s start here: Biphobia is real. It manifests itself in gestures as seemingly fleeting as dismissive jokes, and actions as harrowing as outright physical violence. Bisexual people typically suffer significantly higher rates of depression and anxiety, domestic violence, sexual assault, and poverty than lesbians, gay men, or straight cisgender people, according to the Human Rights Campaign.
A black-and-white society, most of us grow up with the notion people are either straight or gay. Those attitudes have historically prevailed in the LGBTQ community, too.
Alex Keuroghlian, the Director of the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center at the Fenway Institute, says bisexual people can be looked at skeptically.
“Within LGBTQIA+ communities, there has historically been a stigma toward bisexual people, and the false notion that they’re really gay and lesbian people who haven’t accepted that about themselves,” he said.
Megan Duthart, a rower at Washington State University who identifies as both bi and queer, has experienced the stigma first-hand. She says she thinks bisexual people are often excluded in the LGBTQ community.
“I’ve struggled a little bit with being identified as an ‘other’ in the community with the term ‘bisexuality,’” she said.
Why are bi people targeted for erasure?
More people are identifying as bisexual. Over three percent of U.S. adults say they’re bi, according to the 2018 General Social Survey. That’s three times the number as 2008.
And yet, bi people are still targeted for erasure. One of the ways it happens is through language. When people see same-sex couples, for example, they may be inclined to label them as “gay” or “lesbian,” without considering that one or both of the people could identity as bi.
While Americans’ attitudes about sexuality are evolving, many still adhere to more binary definitions of sexual orientation. A recent YouGov poll found 41 percent of American adults don’t think sexuality is a spectrum (conversely, 37 percent think it is).
As Ford puts it, bisexuality is stereotypically viewed as “the stepping stone stage.” That ties into one of the more insidious aspects of bi-erasure: the belief that it’s just a phase. It’s a line Ford recalls hearing many times, from both men and women.
“(Gay men) said, ‘I came out as bisexual first. It’s just a phase, you won’t be there long,’” Ford said. “I was also scared how women would think about it. They wanted to change me. Some of them wanted to use it as a thrill they were seeking.”
When professional hockey player Zach Sullivan came out as bi, his father told him it meant he was still making up his mind.
“I remember what my dad said when I told him,” Sullivan said. “‘Well, you aren’t all the way there. You haven’t really decided.’ I was like, ‘no, I know I’m attracted to both genders. I’m not halfway towards coming out as gay.’”
The bi burden
Every LGBTQ person can relate to the fear and anxiety of coming out. But for most of us, once we do it, it’s over.
That’s not the case for bi people.
“We have to keep coming out to our significant others, whether it’s a man or a woman,” Ford said. “If you’re gay and you start dating a gay, you’re not going to be like, ‘I have to tell you something: I’m gay.’ They’re going to be like, ‘no shit.’”
And once bi people do come out, they could get charged with being greedy — the sexual equivalent of having their cake and eating it, too. The insult angers Sullivan.
“The majority of people in the LGBT+ community have struggled with their sexuality, and when they finally become comfortable enough to come out in the open with their sexuality, I don’t think the first thing to say to someone who’s come out as bisexual is they’re greedy,” Sullivan said. “I took over 10 years to get to where I am.”
Duthart finds the concept of bisexuality can be difficult to explain. She largely identifies as queer.
“I’ve had coaches question whether I’m rebelling or going through a phase,” she said. “Then when I explain the whole queer aspect, they’re like, ‘Oh, OK. That seems more justified.’ I don’t want to have to justify those things, but I sort of have to.”
Changing attitudes
Jack Storrs came out as bisexual last year as a college football captain. His teammates at Pomona-Pitzer rallied around him, and wore Pride decals on their helmets.
But even some who were supportive suggested he was on his way to identifying as gay. Storrs said he couldn’t hide his feelings for men anymore, and came out because he wanted to explore.
Maybe he was gay, maybe he wasn’t. The questions didn't bother him. He was a relieved to have the dialogue.
“It was killing me on the inside,” Storrs said. “It got to the point where I was like, ‘screw it.’ This is who I am, and this was meant to be.”
Nowadays, Storrs says he’s more towards the “gay end of the spectrum,” and expects the fluidity to continue.
He’s cool with that, and numbers show his peers are, too. Generation Z is among the most progressive and diverse in U.S. history. A 2018 study from Ipsos Mori shows only 66 percent of young people today identify exclusively as heterosexual.
Young people have a better understanding of how sexuality can evolve, says Keuroghlian.
“There’s been less of a reflex to box people in, and categorize people in ways that could be static,” he said. “A key part of all of this is not projecting behavior or projecting attraction. People tell us — they self-identify that’s who they are. And we have to honor that.”
Visibility challenges misperceptions
But to get back to Rueter’s question: can you name a famous out bisexual person besides Frank Ocean?
It’s challenging, and the lack of bi visibility may be one of the biggest contributors towards bi-erasure. But that is changing. Each person who comes out as bisexual has the ability to change perceptions within their own communities — and many young athletes are.
Bri Tollie, a bisexual college basketball player at Southern Methodist University, wrote in her coming-out story she refuses to conform.
“It is important to be visible because everyone is unique,” she wrote. “Our uniqueness means no one should not have to give up a part of themselves to conform. It is called self-respect.”
Growing up, Storrs tried to shut off his attraction to guys. He told himself it wasn’t a big deal, but the angst became all-encompassing.
Storrs is done hiding any part of himself. He did that for far too long, and is now out for all to see.
“I am bisexual, and my point is, I don’t really give a shit what anybody else thinks,” Storrs said. “This is who I am, and I don’t have to figure it out, but the reason I’m coming out is to figure it out, or at least get to a point where I’m comfortable.”
With their stories, these young bi athletes are making it more comfortable for bi people every single day.
