Since we're talking about The Hunger Games again, can I say that ever since I read the books years ago (before knowing what “aroace” is), I never felt that Katniss was as attracted to Peeta as he was to her? Yes, she loved him, but it never felt romantic to me. Maybe I was (and still am) projecting... I want to reread the books with this perspective in mind. Nevertheless, I don't think the books had a happy ending… it was bittersweet. After everything, Katniss only wanted a normal life, and having a family with Peeta was the closest she would get to that, because that's what people think is normal.

I'm sorry, but the first-person POV in the books is so telling. I firmly believe she was content to be in a relationship, but she had no real drive for sex or romance. But she gave Peeta what she didn't mind to give. And he took what she was willing to give.

Underrated comedy moment in the Hunger Games series is when Katniss meets Finnick for the first time, spends an entire page explaining how damn good looking he is, states explicitly that he’s the most attractive man in existence and that she personally thinks he’s gorgeous, and then goes “But *I’ve* never had a crush on him”.
