YAN! DAMIAN WAYNE & YAN! JONATHAN KENT with their shared darling.
You are hella shy around them. You never defend yourself, never speak out of turn. Meek. You appeal extremely well to their hero instincts; to guide and protect.
A while into your (forced, maybe even fictional) relationship, they introduce you to the titans.
Surprise surprise YAN! FANS TEEN TITANS already knew you. Who wouldn’t recognize the super idol [Y/N] [L/N]?
The two suddenly realized that you’re the star the team always talked about but they were just too busy stalking you to even realize. (Also cause Damian is the anti-basic and baby ghorl Jon is a bit out of the loop when it comes to pop culture)
Cue the pair suddenly becoming your biggest fanboys.
Jon who’s a lot more open about it in public. Wearing your merch all over his body. Even using his hero identity to spread your name around. Memorized fan dances to obnoxiously perform if you ever go on stage again.
While Damian is a lot more low-key and uses it as a way to blackmail and psychoanalyze you. He stalks all your socials. Has watched all your concerts and listened to all your albums on loop.
Uses his money to flex but as an anonymous user and even brings the whole Batfam into it. Particularly his dad and oldest brother. Mostly cause Bruce is rich and can fund his obsession, while Dick is a great enabler and is already a fan of you.
Both probably engage on internet wars on a daily.
Anyways it’s all cute until they ruin your career by fucking you live for all to see, in their costumes to boot.
Aight byeeeee

EC!reader? Pretty please? 🥺
"No, Y/N today?" Dick asked, quirking an eyebrow when Jason strolled in.
"She's not feeling well," Jason explained simply. Mostly true. You were sad. You were angry. You your deflated. You just wanted to take your meds and sleep. Turn the ringer off on your phone and just- not. Ignore the pain in your chest.
And you both agreed that feeling that way would make it hard to deal with a house full of detectives- people who couldn't mind their own fucking business.
"Is she pregnant?" Stephanie asked.
"No," Jason snorted. "Just tired. Nasty headache- it's probably just her semi-annual sinus infection gearing up." You'd already had it but- they didn't know that. It was mild. And over quick.
"Lame," Stephanie pouted, watching Jason drop into a chair. Putting in his appearance to keep them from showing up at his house.
__________________________
Bruce Watched the interaction and frowned a little. He knew this wasn't true. Something was off. Jason might be able to fool his siblings but- not him.
Something was up.
So he waited. Biding his time until The kids were all too distracted to be paying attention to what he was doing. Too relaxed at home to be vigilant. And he dropped by the apartment.
He didn't know what exactly he expected when he shouldered the door open. A chaos of drug paraphernalia maybe? Not your phone flashing while a rom-com played. Anxiety medication on the coffee table and you fast asleep on the couch. Curled under a weighted blanket and clinging to a teddy bear.
He cringed and said a silent apology to you. And to Jason- he wasn't covering for you. He was protecting your dignity. Not enabling you. And you were- hurting. Trying to deal with something- if the missed calls from your mother were an indication, something painful. Deeply painful. And the best way you knew how to do that was just- to turn it all off for a little while.
Worth keeping an eye on but, not what he thought.
He backed slowly out of the apartment and locked the door behind him again.
Sure. A sinus infection. He'd let that ride. At least for today.

Reference:
Ages: Dick 29 | Jason 23 | Tim 20 | Damian 18 | Reader 18 DICK is the ‘no man will compare to your charming big brother’ type. He is your knight in shining armor, always eager to put you first. He believes no one will be able to take care of you the way that he can, but doesn't view other men as competition- preferring to show you that he’s better. He's your childhood friend, your 'boy-(in-the-room-) next-door'. Dick's love language is...kind of all of them? But he loves spending time with you, lounging about your room while you choose outfits and recount high school drama. JASON is one of your more estranged siblings. He gets off knowing that Bruce views you as an innocent, and that your involvement with him in particular is taboo in all sorts of ways. Part of him is getting over the fact that you really aren’t as delicate as you used to be, far from the annoying brat he believed too weak for their nightly family adventures. He wants to protect you but also feels like he’s missed too many formative years to really boss you around like an older brother. Whenever he tries, it always comes out a little awkward. He’s the care-free fun sibling, letting you get away with whatever you want while simultaneously encouraging it. He is a pleasure seeker and an enabler, but will also recite some poetry after he finishes boning you on his couch. TIM is like a best friend. This relationship is more casual than truly lusty or romantic, at least at the start. Even your intimacy is playful and spontaneous. There's no pressure to be anything but yourself, in and out of the bedroom. Tim mostly adores your curiosity, a trait which you both share. You often go down wikipedia rabbit holes together, or people watch at the park outside of WayneTech during his lunch breaks. You've also started a snapchat series of him falling asleep in strange places. DAMIAN is a total dominant personality, if somewhat socially awkward. In some ways, he believes you belong to him. He views you as a pet or a toy sometimes, wishing to take care of you in his own way. His role in your life is essentially a sexual and romantic version of how Bruce sees you. Damian dresses you, enjoys bathing you and would rather watch you get off than be able to get himself off. Like Bruce, it's as much of a control thing as it is a 'I don't know how to interact with people in a genuine way' thing. He doesn’t always know what to do with reciprocation as he’s never had it, but he doesn’t need it with you. Much like the relationship between a pet and it’s human, it’s one sided care. This is important because Damian cherishes pets over humans, so the fact that he cares for you like a dog means that you’re highly valued in his mind.

Batman's Relationships with the "Batfam"
Alfred: Technically Alfred is his father-figure, but because Alfred actively chose to remain being Bruce's butler, and repressed his own issues, that just kneecapped Bruce's ability to heal, and enabled his worst impulses. Yes, they love each other, dearly. No, they will not communicate this unless they are on the brink of death.
Dick: I know, there's this whole thing with "eldest son". But first, Bruce was only in his early 20s when he took in Dick. And second, Bruce would have been actively avoiding trying to replace Dick's father, similar to Alfred. Their relationship is of close friends, and it isn't until they're both adults, well over a decade later, that either would even consider using familial terms to acknowledge each other. But that friendship is always the first level of their connection.
Barbara: There was hero worship that quickly died once Barbara got to see more of what Bruce is actually like. But there's still mutual respect and friendship, and Barbara is one of the few people Bruce actively listens to the input of.
Jason: Jason was the second Robin, but he was the first child who could accurately be called Bruce's son. When he meets Jason, Bruce is in a more balanced place in his life, he's on the path of healing, and he's willing to take in Jason not because he recognizes someone who's suffered the same way he has, like with Dick, but because he can help him. There's outright familial affection between Bruce and Jason, in ways we don't see with almost any other Batfam character. And then Jason dies, and Bruce's heart is shattered. Every single relationship Bruce has going forward is informed more by Jason's death than his parents'.
Tim: Tim and Bruce are a student and teacher. In many ways, Tim is Bruce's favorite student, but they aren't seeking family in each other, but that doesn't make their relationship any less deep or important to each other.
Cass: While a lot of comics tend to ignore or forget that Bruce outright adopted Cassandra to prove she would always have a home and family, the greatest truth is that Cass is Bruce's successor. Of all the batfam, she is the one who actively says she wants to take Bruce's place one day, and she believes in the cause of Batman stronger than anyone else. She was given a choice between cruelty and compassion, and like Bruce before her, she chose compassion. She's growing and improving, learning both from her own mistakes and from Bruce's, and ultimately, will be a greater hero than Batman before her.
Stephanie: A Mess. Not familial, but definitely a mess. Mostly because Steph's a victim of Batman writing at the time, and it never really got addressed to offer any improvement to her relationship with Bruce.
Damien: Damien is Bruce's son, but their relationship is fraught to say the least. Between being raised by the League, then Bruce being "dead" and Damien being raised/guided by Dick for a good amount of time, there's a lot of love there, but Damien is a victim of Bruce's decades of emotional repression and trauma in ways none of the other Batfam are, and both struggle to communicate, despite trying their best.
Duke, Luke, and Harper: All of these are colleagues at various levels of connection to Bruce. Duke is a younger vigilante just starting out, and Bruce is a grizzled veteran taking him under his wing, but not outright mentoring him the way he did the Robins. There's respect and teaching there, but not in the same way.
Kate Kane: They're cousins. They argue a lot.

i've found your account only a few days ago but ever since then I've been STUCK here rereading your fanfics, especially ones with damian. i wasn't even a dc fan (heard about some stuf, watched some films and cartoons, but that's it) but now im reading comics since im Obsessed and need more batboys in my life (rip my productivity😔)
Anyway, after Sleepover i'm curious what will Bruce (and maybe even Thalia) think of batboys strange behaviour towards reader. He's smart, so he definitely notices it early on, but how he'll react....
I can see him being weirded out (like he was by Jason's anger issues, before his death), but he also can be an enabler, since Robin (literaly any of them) had a hard life, so if those relationships can help him why not pretend that everything is normal? you'll be safer in a Wayne's Manor anyway
All in all, thanks for a new hyperfixation 💞💞
P.s. About games:
1. Boyfriend to death 1&2 - since you're into yanderes you might want to check this game out. I prefer the second game, but the first is also fun. But beware the trigger warnings!!
2. Long live the Queen - more of a raising sim than dating sim but you still can romance some guys and girls.
,3. Hatoful Boyfriend - mostly a comedy, but there is a yandere.
4. The Royal Trap - it's been a long time since i played it, but it used to be one of my favorites so i'll just mention it.
5. Higurashi - once again not really a romance sim, but its an interesting horror mixed with a slice of life
;A; AWWWW THANK YOU IM SO HAPPY YOU LIKE MY STUFF.... THAT MAKES ONE OF US GIJSDOFAFGHFOJDSD
and yes yes get into DC!!! (girl who hasnt even read a full run since like. injustice)
damn now you got me thinking and excited. incoming spiel
i agree entirely about bruce just knowing how Bad things can get, so to make things simpler, he's like "yes, your darling(s) can stay in the manor, boys. 🙄"
mmm yes..... when it comes to bruce noticing the batboys are yandere, i think it's always sinfully delightful to just have him be reluctantly okay with it. 😈 it's also easier narratively ngl but i also like the idea that the batfam is all just corrupted.
bruce's thoughts are that they (his sons) fight for vengeance and justice but this is where they could use some leeway.... we all need our vice... they fight so hard for gotham, they deserve a little treat (getting rid of your human rights)... it's very "Dad who wants his sons to have happiness even if its not healthy" of him. in fics where bruce is a yandere, well, he's the exact same way so he can't judge. although if that's the case, i like the idea of bruce just being like "yes what we do isn't right. let's not talk about it. just don't kill <3"
still wondering what i like more. a yan!bruce who's self aware what he's doing is wrong but he just refuses to think about it. or a yan!bruce that justifies it all because of his paranoia, Tower of Babel style (if you don't know, that's when it's revealed batman has plans to subdue/kill the justice league just in case they go rogue.)
for the batboys depends on their personality... for damian, he's so resolute in things that i prefer when he just believes 100% what he's doing is okay, if not actually righteous. ^_^
hmmm talia.... I'M STILL UNSURE HOW I PREFER THAT AS WELL... i think talia being a you-arent-good-enough-for-my-son mom is a little cliche but also. she kinda would say that. you'd have to prove your worth somehow but idk how tf darling would do that LOL. in the end, i think talia is just relieved/comforted that her son indeed feels desire and wants love and will continue the family legacy (regardless if youre afab/can biologically have children.)
no THANK YOU FOR THE ASK!!! AND THANKS FOR RECS!!!! heheh yeah ive checked out btd and im not averse to the warnings its more like im not that most of into the designs ngl. fox guy seems cute? AND LMAO FUNNY BC IM ON A HIGURASHI REWATCH (never played it tho)

The Hearts of Gotham 3
Chapter 3 out of 7
Bruce makes the Justice League believe he has two hearts and is a manifestation of Gotham’s night to throw them off his secret identity, not trusting them. When the sound system breaks, he doesn’t come clean, but lies instead that he split into two to make Robin. From there it spirals as all the Robins make the lies grow and twist it in their own ways, until the truth comes out.
This fic is based on this post and inspired by Bouncing Baby Bat, or so the Justice League is led to believe... by EmpressGeek.
On AO3.
Ships: none
Warnings: ends on a bit of a sad note bc it's Jason's Robin

Chapter 3: How Jason Made It his Own
Bruce will never forget Jason’s face when he finally gave in and said they can go meet the Justice League. It’s so happy and thrilled, excited and full of life. Jason is such a happy kid, who is grateful for where he is now.
He will also never forget Jason’s reply when he explains that they have a cover to maintain towards the Justice League and what that cover is. Despite knowing that it is mostly because he is too embarrassed to admit he lied, he goes on a little spiel about the safety of their identities that Jason has heard a thousand times before.
Jason doesn’t really believe him, clear by the way he looks at him while he talks. But when he is done, Jason looks around to see if anyone is there (obviously there isn’t, they’re in the Batcave), then he leans in conspiratorially and whispers: “Are we- Are we pranking the Justice League?”
For a second, Bruce is silent, then he laughs, because framing it like that doesn’t exactly make it better, but it does make him feel better about lying. “Yeah,” he chuckles, “yeah, we’re pranking the Justice League.”
“I need to prepare for this,” Jason says excitedly. “I am going to be a master performer. They’ll never know. This is great.”
Thus, there is a pep in his step as he excitedly trails after B into the Watchtower for the first time, grin in place and lines practiced with Alfred.
They enter a big room with a table, around which all the Justice League members are sitting. A few start to greet Batman, but the room falls silent, much like it had done when Dick came around, when they spot Jason, who peeks out from behind Bruce with an impish grin.
“Hi,” he waves at them excitedly. “I’m Robin, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Hello, Robin,” Diana replies, the first to recover from having a new boy show up as Bruce’s shadow- or, uh, light.
Now that he has Jason’s lens, it’s quite amusing to watch the others try to rhyme it in their heads, especially Clark, who can definitely hear that there is a different heartbeat inside Jason’s chest.
As expected with Wonder Woman greeting him, Jason is a little starstruck, shaking her hand as he stares with big eyes. Though he manages: “It is a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Wonder Woman. You are an inspiration.”
Diana is obviously quite taken by this young admirer and she smiles kindly at him. “That is a high compliment coming from a Robin.”
Jason blushes slightly, then seems to remember himself, because he squares his scrawny little shoulders and states: “I am not a Robin, I am the Robin. But you are welcome, Ms. Wonder Woman.”
“I don’t know, you don’t look like the little twerp we’ve met before,” Hal says, leaning over Jason as he inspects him, Barry looking over his shoulder.
“Of course not,” Jason exclaims dramatically. “Robin is a concept, a manifestation. It would be unbecoming for Robin not to embody what he stands for. We manifestations can grow and evolve, not that you would get that, one bound to that form.”
At that moment, Bruce is reminded that Jason is going through his Shakespeare phase, enabled by Alfred. He wonders if he should step in, but he is more amused to see how it plays out. It’s a prank after all
“The Robin you knew, is no more. Blüdhaven called for its own protector and took the one, you knew as Robin as her own,” Jason continues to monologue. “She needed someone capable and trained, not freshly formed. So the hero now known as Nightwing, gave back that which made him Robin and took on his new mantle to serve her. While, I formed with what he gave back and that what is new.”
Barry leans in and whispers: “It’s beginning to sound a little a villain monologue, are you sure we shouldn’t step in or something?”
“No,” Bruce grunts.
However, Jason has heard as well and he points to Barry, who yelps a little. Jason says: “Do you believe the night to be static? Do you believe its light cannot evolve? Why? The moon waxes and wanes. A spotlight calls us now. Why should I remain the same?”
Now Barry decides to whisper to Hal, instead of Bruce. “Is he a werewolf? Is that what he’s implying?”
“I thought they were vampires. Or demons,” Hal replies.
This time, Jason pretends not to hear them, though Bruce knows he has. There is a small uptick in the corner of his mouth, a satisfied tilt to his stance. He’s enjoying winding the League up and scaring them a little. He’s enjoying the prank.
“Are you going to change too, Batman?” Clark suddenly asks. “Just so that we know what to expect, of course. I don’t mean to pry.”
“No,” is all he says to that, because that is truly all they need to know. And he hasn’t prepared to come up with something and he doesn’t want to bother with it now. He knows these people well enough by now that he knows they mean it when they say they don’t mean to pry.
Jason, naturally, has another idea. He gasps loudly and dramatically: “Let us hope he never does. Something grave must happened for the night to change.”
Now the Justice League is looking concerned. Bruce remains quiet, not sure where Jason is going, but more than happy to let him go ahead. He can update the files when they get home to reflect the new knowledge Jason shares. Maybe it will give him some ideas.
“The night is not like the light in it,” Jason informs everyone there, looking quite solemn. “The light in it can be manipulated and changed, but the night? That’s darkness. That’s stable. You can’t easily add darkness, just subtract light. And I’m the light. No, if Batman changes, that’s- Oef, something happened in Gotham if that happens.”
It’s silent.
Bruce thinks that it is very dramatic and adds to his persona. He quite likes the yarn Jason is spinning, though it would make it harder to ever step down. Not that he’s planning on that now, but a contingency to consider.
Then Jason breaks the silence with a smile. “Of course it will happen at some point, but don’t worry about that.”
“Okay, small child, please tell us more than that,” Barry pleads, super speeding over to shake Jason’s shoulders.
Jason is definitely enjoying this as he says: “Not a child.” And for once Bruce can’t correct him. The little shit knows what he is doing.
Barry doesn’t care and willingly goes along. For him it’s the truth. “Okay, then, well of information, do tell us more, please.”
“I don’t know if I can,” Jason says, looking over to Bruce. It’s the closest he’ll likely ever come to asking for permission.
Following his gaze, Barry’s eyes land on Bruce as well, hands still on Jason’s shoulders. Cautiously, he asks: “But you could, right? You both know what’s happening?”
“Of course,” Jason huffs.
Clark jumps in. “It would makes us all feel a little better if we know a little more in the event it should happen.”
Bruce nods his assent to Jason, curious to see what answer he has, because Bruce certainly doesn’t have any.
Jason grins and frees himself from Barry’s grasp, then dusts himself off as he explains: “We grow, get stronger. As long as Gotham has need for us, we will be here. Batman grows. You’ve all seen it. He seems to age like any person would. But Gotham will need us longer than a human can bear the burden.”
He is pretty sure Jason is a natural with how he has everyone hanging from his lips. He hasn’t looked at them yet, busy straightening himself out. But now he does look up, making sure he’s looked all of them in the eyes.
“There will come a day when he gets too old, then one of the parts of him that has been or is Robin will merge with him again, but this time they will not leave their old parts behind to reform. This time, they’ll remain merged and become Batman, growing until a new Robin can be formed, if there isn’t a Robin in existence yet at the time,” Jason says. “They will become Batman and this Batman will fade out of existence.”
“The new one will know some things the old Batman knew, but not everything. It won’t be him anymore,” Jason tells them. “The new form will grow and Batman and Robin will continue to patrol Gotham as they have always done.”
It’s a smart move on Jason’s part to allow for a Robin to be able to take over the mantle, the most likely option. He has also explained why Bruce ages and how he will one day will have to stop, but Batman will continue if he is needed.
He truly is a natural.
However, he has left the room in a quite sullen mood. He seems to realize that and he grins again: “Don’t look like that. Everyone has a cycle they’re a part of. And I for one, am delighted to be at the start of mine.”
The rest of the League now seem to realize that they’ve been so busy with all Jason’s been saying, they haven’t welcomed him like they usually would. So, they quickly rectify that and Jason spends the rest of the day, wrapping the League around his fingers, much like he has Bruce.
At the end, when they’ve returned to the Batcave, Jason quietly asks: “Did I go overboard?” in that uncertain way he still sometimes falls into where he convinces himself Bruce will throw him back on the streets.
“No, you were great,” Bruce smiles, happy when Jason puffs up with pride. “There is an improv theater club if you want to join. You have talent.”
“Can I, dad?” Jason asks, sparks in his eyes at the suggestion.
“Of course.” Bruce ruffles his hair.
Much later, after many tragedies, Jason will return to Gotham and do things his own way. He would have forgotten about it, were it not for the rumors still circulating. And he knows that this is between him and Bruce.
So, he sows a sound system into his own costume and picks a second heartbeat that is aggressively loud and strong. A fighter’s heartbeat. And when Superman catches him in Metropolis, he spits: “You can’t hold me. I’m Crime Alley incarnated. I am not bound by your reality, you motherfucker, so let me go.”
And Superman will frown and say: “You have the second Robin’s first heartbeat, but a new second one.”
In turn, Jason will angrily snap: “Well, yeah, the second Robin died. And there was no Batman to absorb me. This is who I became. This is the justice Crime Alley needs. Think you know better, Boy Scout?”
And Superman will let him go in shock, ready to ask Batman more questions about this new part of Gotham that has become a manifestation.
~~
A/N:
This went from ‘haha funny’ to ‘sad’ very quickly and I am afraid this is what the vibes are now, because we all know what happened to Jason and that is pretty unavoidable. Hopefully the good vibes will return in chapter five…
(also this chapter not being his POV’s but Bruce’s until the end, because it no longer feels like he experienced it and instead it is mostly Bruce, who holds these memories now ahhhasjfdgsdf, I wanna turn into an oyster and live on the ocean floor forever)

So basically, Bruce gets therapy after he loses his parents and thus is a mostly well-adjusted member of society. After a brief but passionate relationship with Talia al-Ghul, Damian is born, and is raised by Talia for a while before he goes off to meet his father. He and Bruce bond for a few years and one day, he meets Stephanie, who's in an unstable home environment, father is in-and-out of prison, that sort of thing, and takes her in with some joint custody with Crystal Brown. Then one day, Steph brings her boyfriend Tim along, and he's Tim, so you can imagine how that goes down. Damian and Tim have some friction initially but they eventually learn to get along with each other. Then we meet Jason in a similar manner to how Bruce found him in canon, but instead of the Batmobile, it was just his car. Then we find Dick, who similar to Jason, has pretty much the exact same backstory except he's 9 instead of 23 like he normally would be at this point in Bruce's life. Along the way, we get Babs, Cass, Harper and Duke, that happens however it happens.
Omg wait, Damian being big protective brother to Stephanie tho. He tries to give the shovel talk to Tim who is so amused. Little bitty Jason being thrown into this weird mishmash family and having to be basically tamed by Steph and Damian (Tim totally enables the kid). Jason stepping up as big brother for little Dickie. Except Dick totally still wants to murder Zucco, so now all the kids have to band together to help the kid out.

You may have already mentioned this in some of your other metas, and I just missed it, so please ignore this if it's redundant.
Do you think Bruce is projecting onto Jason by pushing him as a Robin? Obviously, Jason wanted to be Robin and was excited about it, and Bruce let Jason do other things, but (if I'm not mistaken) before Tim came into play, solidifying the whole Batman needs a Robin/support to keep him upright, Bruce and Dick becoming Batman and Robin, in the beginning, was also sort of a coping mechanism.
I think there are a few examples of Bruce enabling this kind of mindset. Like in Gotham Knights #43–44 (sorry), every time Barbara brings up Jason's inner turmoil, Bruce refocuses on his ability as a Robin; similarly, when Jason finds out about Two-Face and his dad, he is hurt, and Bruce acknowledges that but then does the same thing, zeroing in on reassuring Jason that he made a mistake but is still a good Robin.
Like, Jason got it from Bruce, but he unintentionally encouraged that kind of thinking.
oh, i definitely think that bruce is projecting on jason and that it profoundly affected jay. and, while every single one of your observations is apt, i would add that what truly made it so tragic is that he projected his own worst traits on jason while being blind to the fact that jay already shared his best qualities.
tldr: bruce projects himself on jason in terms of grief (saying that jason needs vigilantism to work his grief through) and sees his own worst traits in jason (anger) but doesn't see his own best traits in jay (compassion, love, and sensitivity). ironically, jason does end up developing all of the (projected) worst characteristics of bruce (obsessiveness, and relentlessness in pursuit of the respective perceived idea of justice). this happens even though they were barely present in his early storylines, and only ever manifested when jason was scared or lost. later, they truly came to be because of his trauma relating to vigilantism.
and the long, long version, coming with panels and quotes: under the cut.
first i want to say that the following analysis focuses very specifically on bruce's mistakes, but i don't view the overall of jay's upbringing by bruce solely in these terms. from text it is also clear that bruce deeply loves and cares about jay, and that jay enjoys being robin. now that this is clear, let's get to particularities, and start with jay's origin story.
i truly never stop thinking about the significance of bruce meeting jay in the crime alley, the place of his parents' death. there's a lot to be said about it, but here the focus is, of course, on the fact that he sees a little boy, very much similar to himself, angry and hurt, in the same scenery that brought him so much grief. and jay in some ways does appear to be a mirror of bruce's own agonies, as well as a mirror of his own inclination for seeking justice; and somehow, bruce fixates on the first one, while almost completely dismissing the latter.
bruce looks at him and assumes that the remedy to jason's pain and anger is being robin; and he doesn't stop to think about it. (it has to be noted that there's also classism at play, classism that is mostly a result of writers' own beliefs – collins did state in a couple of interviews that that the motivation behind jason's background was to make his introduction into vigilantism seem less offensive, as jason has already been exposed to crime...)
i think, in this context, it's interesting to look at the two-face storyline even closer, and from the start too. in the beginning, bruce talks of jason's 'street' roots and assumes jay would go "down the same criminal road that took his father [willis] to an early death." he also talks of jason making a lot of progress. later, in batman #411, after jason learns that willis has been killed by two-face, bruce comments that jay "has never been like this...listless...almost pouting--"

this all, along with jay's cheerful and diligent behaviour from the previous issue builds an interesting picture for us: because we essentially learn that jay has been overall an unproblematic child. bruce, of course, attributes this "progress" to the training. however, for anyone else, the logical conclusion would be that jay's quick adjustment was simply a matter of finding himself in a safe and stable environment and receiving continuous support and attention from a parental figure. i find it rather questionable that jason's personality softened down because he had something to punch in the cave–– the more intuitive explanation is of course that he was angry and quick to fight when they first met because he couldn't afford anything else and because he was scared. but months later, in a loving home, he can allow himself to drop his guard; and his cocky attitude disappears until much later.
so the rather unsettling picture that we derive is that bruce is training jay to become a vigilante in order to "channel" his (nonvisible at this point) anger into something useful and just. and he clearly links this to his own trauma in batman #416 (that’s already starlin btw), in his conversation with dick, explaining why he took jay in: “he’s so full of anger and frustration… he reminds me of myself, just after my parents were killed.” bruce also mentions that soon after their first meeting, jason helped him and "handled himself well" in the fight, but he doesn't mention that jay has ran away from a crime "school" and intended to stop injustice on his own only because he was ignored.
the theme of bruce comparing jay to himself appears again in detective comics #574 (barr), where it is approached with a much more... critical look, thanks to leslie's presence and her skepticism of bruce's actions. after jason has suffered nearly fatal injuries at the hand of the mad hatter, bruce reminisces on his own trauma and motives. he tells leslie: "i didn't choose jason for my work. he was chosen by it...as i was chosen." leslie replies: "stop that! (...) you do this for yourself... you're still that little boy (...)" then, the conversation steers to the familiar ground and the topic of anger. in bruce's words, again: “i wanted to give jason an outlet for his rage…wanted him to expunge his anger and get on with his life…” and finishes "and instead, i may have killed him."
the recognition that bruce's projection on jason and involving him with his work might have fatal consequences is, as always, fast forgotten once jay wakes up and proclaims that he wants to continue his work as robin.
but to circle back, i think there's something else worth our attention, something deeply ironic, that is showcased in that issue: that bruce has no evidence for jay's "rage." when leslie talks of bruce's past, she recalls his tendencies to get into brutal fights at perceived injustice as early as in school; when bruce talks of jason, two pictures that are juxtaposed, are that of jason fighting as robin and jason... smiling, playing baseball.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so, in the early days of jason's training and work in the field, we see bruce talking of jason's anger a lot; but we barely see it.
that being said, jay is angry sometimes– and i think your observation about how bruce deals with it is incredibly interesting and accurate.
we first see jay truly and devastatingly angry in the two-face storyline. bruce focuses on jay's reaction as robin, which is, in fact, aggressive. but something that he barely addresses is that jason's first reaction is sleeping all day, and not beating anyone to a pulp; in fact, this vengeful instinct seems to arise only when he is put right in front of two-face. and his third instinct, once the rage (very quickly) dies down after the altercation with two-face, is crying, because bruce hid the truth about willis' death from him. jay, while crying, asks bruce: "you have taken me out into combat-- but you spare me this?" in response, bruce lectures jason about how grief inspires revenge, which is, again, deeply ironic, given that jay seeking out revenge seemed to be prompted and enabled solely by the role of robin. moreover, his question suggests that at this point he saw grief ("you spare me this") and fighting as two different things.
the final is, as you said, bruce focusing on making it into a lesson on vigilantism, or, in his own words, "tempering revenge into justice." personally, i think in this way bruce directs jason to bring his grief into the field as a powering force, something that he didn't necessarily have an own incentive to do. the flash of compartmentalisation between his ordinary life and being a sidekick that jay has shown by questioning bruce's decision is lost. emotions are now a robin thing, and they have an (informal) protocol, a moral code. and when jay is confronted with an emotionally exhausting case next – the garzonas case, i believe that the focus on "tempering revenge into justice" is exactly the problem– we don't see jay crying, we see him frantic about finding the solution. this, right there, is bruce's obsessiveness, that in my opinion, was developed in jay specifically as a result of how his engagement with vigilantism combines with his deep sensitivity.
and, needless to say, his sensitivity is all the same as that of bruce – they both can't stand looking at other people hurting, they both wear their hearts on their sleeve, caring way too much – the thing is, bruce never quite acknowledges how they are similar in this matter. instead, he focuses on his sparse bursts of anger, wanting to bring jason closure in his grief the only way he knows it – in a fight for a better world. so, as you said, he focuses on jason's ability as robin.
which just doesn't work for jason. at all. we know it from how his robin run comes to an end: in the first issue of a death in the family (batman #426) alfred informs: “i’ve come upon him, several times, looking at that battered old photograph of his mother and father, crying.”  to that, bruce contends: “in other words, i may have started jason as robin before he had a chance to come to grips with his parents deaths.” he also tells jay that the field is not a place for someone who is hurting; a message that is the opposite of what he's been saying for years now, and something that i imagine was difficult for bruce to conceptualise, because then he would have to question his own unhealthy tendencies. it's a bit late to come to this realisation; bruce's self-projection that caused him to worry so much about jay's anger has already turned into a self-fulfilling prophecy that will fully manifest itself in utrh, when jason does the only thing he was taught to do with grief: try to channel it into justice.

Dos X Batman crossover
So Tim Drake is planning on exploding Ras al ghuls base. And after many sleepless nights (as usual) gets in his sleep-deprived brain, the brilliant idea to summon the God of explosions. Cause why not? It would be way quicker and more efficient than to get all the explosives himself. Young Justice being the enablers they are just support him, cause Tim is the smartest Robin, he was trained by Batman, surely he knows whats up and what are the chances even that actually works??
And they do some summoning ritual from a Sus book Tim found on his travels (when Bruce was stuck in the time stream). And tbh Tim is mostly doing it for sht and kicks but THAN
BAM the summoning is actually working. There is a bit of panic (lots) but then the one who appears is a lil girl. Younger than all of them it seems. Can't be more than 14/15. And she's just like 'sup' (shikako is starstruck cause WHAT??? IS THAT RED ROBIN?? THE BEST ROBIN ??? AND IS THAT YOUNG JUSTICE?? WHAT IN THE WORLD??), cause she's a ninja and she can keep her cool under any weird circumstances and to be fair getting summoned isn't all that surprising with her track record.
The hero team explain that they summoned her. And shikako asks how (assuming she speaks English even though it's been a lifetime ago)? And they show this ritual where Tim made some adjustments to summon the God of explosions (which was basically a seal that Shikako will decode later). Shikako says on instinct/autopilot that she isn't a goddess. She is a bit mortified cause omgomgomg she can never let this be known to Sasuke or Kakashi or Anyone really. She would never hear the end of it.
They talk some more and Shikako asks why they need explosions and Tim explains his situation. And shikako is completely on board like hell yes let's fk up the creepy stalker. And she shows she can make explosions with a touch. And they go on and basically egg Ras base with explosions and its a great time.
After that Shikako stays for a while cause it takes time to find her home dimension and decode the summoning ritual. She is the closest with Red Robin cause he's her(mine) favourite Robin. And they can totally geek out over her seals and technology and differences in their worlds and all that. They both have that single minded drive where they just get lost in their research. And shikako would totally explain her seals to Tim and he could like give suggestions.
Once they didn't come out of their research drive for 3 days, it would have been longer if Superboy didn't drag them out of the room for some food that wasn't caffeine or soldier bars (or whatever I forgot the name)
In the end she leaves but she lets them know that if they ever need her for whatever reason they can summon her again.
~
Afterwards when Tim summons her again and explains the problem. Shikako is like I have just the thing and she has this very weird and very convoluted plan.
But it works.
And they realize that explosions isn't the only thing she can do.
So they begin to call her for other things to and shikako always has a (convoluted) plan that usually works (and if if doesn't then she has a plan that will)
And she can also heal??? So like an on call healer which is great!
But when shikako goes on a mission or isn't available she will let it know through a message (somehow, via seal or via interdimensional technology or maybe a combination)
Sometimes the summons are just to catch up.
And just imagine how the Bats would react. Like there is some seemingly impossible problem/villain and Tim be like 'I know a god' and just summons Shikako from his instant-summon-seal and there Shikako is in all her glory, in her pjs with her blanket still on.
And just has all contingency plans ready for all situations.
Batman has the adoption papers ready and filled by the end of the crisis. But shikako already has a lovely family🤣 so she rejects the offer.
I NEED MORE SHIKAKO DC CROSSOVERS😭😭
Anyways lemme know what u think

been thinking too hard about my batman mob au. so i would like to share it. this is so long im sorry let me put it under a cut
i want to begin by saying that i think the only way bruce could feasibly become a mob boss is if he was able to be swayed to see that "clean" methods would genuinely do no good and in fact succeed in achieving more harm due to how much corruption and crime permeates the system. i think it would take a LOT to convince bruce of this, so he's kind of the hardest character to put in a mob au. however for the sake of fun we will suspend our disbelief a little bit!
okay, moving on, alfred: he's long been proven to be bruce's biggest enabler. i think he would get over it and end up helping him as he does as batman
as for dick: ooh boy. okay. so first of all i DO think bruce would let him kill zucco. however!! i think as dick grows up within the mob his strong code of morals will also begin to conflict with the lifestyle. but he's stuck there because bruce. insert all those posts about how dick grayson loves freedom and he also loves bruce and those things are at constant war with each other and because he loves bruce he sometimes clips his own wings. etc etc. i think he is the talia al ghul of this whole sitch if you get what i mean
speaking of talia!!! i believe her father would still be at odds with bruce bc yes, bruce is in crime, but bruce refuses to join with the league. so they semi-preserve their canon dynamic, except i think there's more opportunity for cooperation between talia and bruce considering talia's lexcorp era. in fact i do believe that lexcorp and waynecorp would become business allies during talia's time as ceo
but jason isn't dead. what his kidnappers hoped to do was turn him against his benefactor, taunt him about how it's been months and bruce still hasn't been able to save him, had refused to save him. but one night the door's left ajar and the sound of the TV drifts in, talking about how bruce is waging a bloody gang war, the first he's ever instigated, and jason... well. :)
as for jason—i think he would be the most loyal of the bunch. the first thing i actually dreamed up wrt this AU was a reimagining of ditf/utrh! in here, he's kidnapped by a rival gang. they demand bruce an impossible ransom, and bruce has no choice but to refuse. so bruce is sent a video of jason being killed.
"but poppy," you ask. "where's babs? tim? steph? cass? helena? jpv?" ok let's be real people aren't usually asking about the last 2 rip my babygirls BUT ANYWAYS—
the most important figure is HELENA. in the absence of batman, guess who's becoming the foremost protector of gotham??? EXACTLY. HELENA BERTINELLI. her whole backstory is that she wants to bring organized crime down SO WHO BETTER TO BE THE MAIN ENEMY IN A BATMAN MOB AU.
also because i love her.
im not biased i swear.
ALSO HER FIRST "ROBIN" (not necessarily named robin i just mean like. sidekick) IS JAMES COOPER FROM CAVALIERI'S HUNTRESS. CHUCK DIXON I HAVE NOT FORGIVEN YOU FROM ERASING HIM FROM MAIN CONTINUITY. he doesn't go out into the field that much bc he's still baby but he's the oracle before oracle. although when he does go into the field he's like. remember in cavalieri huntress where he was scurrying arohnd in the sewers and planting fucking grenades and shit. yeah.
later on he and babs will be best buddies <3 babs is his favorite aunt
ALSO!!! the rest of james' family will still be alive. idgaf. it's MY au and i can randomly reveal that his family has been alive all along IF I WANT TO. comic writers stop killing black people off for shock value challenge 2k24
also, james is ABSOLUTELY the one who wheedled helena into making a lair
babs does join the fray still! her story arc is mostly the same except that she partners with the huntress instead of batman. their ages are closer together so it's a slightly different dynamic
tim will remain a civilian. he will, however, be a very helpful civilian, in that he's the one who's stalking dick grayson & trying to prove that dick's involved in organized crime. him and dick will have the saddest tragickest "we could've been brothers. but not in this life. not ever." type of relationship. like jaderoy but platonic.
also tim & helena will have the same littlebrothernephew relationship that they have in canon 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
i guess jpv will get roped in in a similar way to canon, but the idea of bane doing what he did to helena makes me so so sad :( however since she is taking batman's narrative space in this story then i think it should still proceed. i will then also insert a little bit of the vichelena agenda here—
in the wake of bane, JPV WILL STILL STEP IN AS HUNTRESS. "but they'll know he's not a woman" COWARDS. just give him a dye job and he'll look like helena. all white people look the same. he can pad the fucking suit or he can get the fuck out.
as for steph, she will absolutely be a vigilante alongside the huntress. her father is still cluemaster, after all, so she'll follow a similar arc to canon except it's helena and not bruce that she'll develop a complex mentor relationship with!!
i think helena can see a little of herself in steph. i think part of helena envies steph's moral compass also. iirc at steph's age, helena still thought her mafia family was okay & that it was just the people who killed them that were bad. yet steph, who's half her age, has no such illusions about her father, and is already fighting to try and bring him down
cass!!!! cass will still come to gotham!!!!! i can't see a way for cass to be on bruce's side in this au simply bc of how strong her morals are. she killed a man and never ever wanted to kill again, even with shiva where it was kill or be killed, she had already made up her mind to let herself be killed in the end. so she is going to be on the vigilante side :]
also, it would be amazing for me personally if cass came to gotham during azbats (...azhuntress?) era. ohhh lord. a situation RIPE for incredible interactions
i still haven't read damian & duke comics properly yet so that's going to have to be added in the future. but that's what's been rattling around in my brain so far!

did nobody ask you for red letter day? absurd! *I* wanna know about red letter day!
Tumblr media
hello captain and friend anon!!! I KNOW I HAVEN'T UPDATED THIS IN SIX MILLION YEARS SO THANK YOU FOR THESE ASKS <333
okay SO the first thing is, you have to understand, my list of documents for this fic looks like this:
Tumblr media
anyway i do love this fic even though it FIGHTS ME; it's supposed to have both Fights and Mysteries and both are hard to write 😅
anyway hmmm i'm going to cheat by including a Dick POV section that I am probably gonna end up cutting, because i like it but i also worry that it slows down the dialogue?
excerpt below the cut! the only context that you need is that Dick and Tim have been having the "should Tim call if there's danger in Gotham" argument again (Tim's position is "no"), partly because they both have genuine positions on this argument, but also because it enables them to sublimate an emotional conflict into a work conflict and thus avoid talking or thinking about their feelings, which is a shared pathology goal:
Dick would bet Tim never mouthed off to Bruce like this.  One of the many things that suck about being the knock-off Batman is that none of Dick’s orders really stick.  All of the responsibility without the authority to back it up.  At least when Dick was leading the Titans, they did what he freaking told them. …Mostly. …Okay, sometimes. The awful truth is—and he tries not to dwell on it because it’s pointless and doesn’t achieve anything, but—everything with Tim, sometimes it reminds him of the worst times with the Titans.  The same uneasy feeling of dread, like he’s grabbing for someone who’s slipping through his fingers.  Roy’s crossed arms.  The clock creeping toward midnight, staring at the champagne, knowing in his heart that Kory wasn’t coming.  After Tartarus: watching Roy walk out of the room, watching Donna follow him, staring at Vic’s back, Kory’s back, all of them walking out, and no one left but the newcomers.  When the personal is so fucked up that all you can do is double-down on the professional, and even that doesn’t help, and then— (Get a grip, Grayson.) And anyway, this isn’t like the Titans, is it?  Dick was out-of-line, there, in retrospect. He’s never been good at losing people gracefully.  Pushing Kory for marriage when she was already pulling away, trying to cling to her instead of letting her go.  Giving ultimatums after Tartarus, when he knew the team already resented his orders.  Making decisions behind Vic’s back, trying to force him to stay.  It’s an ugly bad habit, picked up from Bruce: things are slipping, and your people are mad at you, so you get scared, and then you get authoritative and controlling so you can hang onto them, except you can’t control them, so then they get even angrier and you lose them anyway.   It’s easy to see in Bruce, hard to see in himself, but he knows it’s there.  He barely managed to catch himself in time, with the Titans.   Is he doing the same thing to Tim?  Does he need to back off? But Gotham is risky.  Tim’s always been capable, obviously, but…it’s okay to be a bit authoritative, isn’t it?  Tim should call if there’s someone who looks unusually dangerous.  That’s just common sense.  Dick’s not asking for miracles, here.

On Kazuya's and Jun's Love Languages
I really love this ship with all my heart like I think I shipped them way before I have known what shipping meant. It's so frustrating that we really don't know much about their relationship and dynamic in canon but I can't help but wonder what they would've been like as a couple >.<
For me, personally, I really do think that Kazuya and Jun are both suckers on Quality Time. I feel like once they felt their attraction to the other, they kept longing to be in each other's presence, and at first Kaz was probably like "I just have to know more about her because she's mysterious." and shit like that like hunny, just say you're crushing on her 😩
Jun probably thought the same like "I need to be in his presence because of the darkness that surrounds him." Just say he's hot and you wanna date him, girl.
When they do hang out together, they make the most out of their time and just really let themselves get lost in the moment. It probably also supports that no matter how short the KOIFT 2 was, it was enough quality time for them to bond with each other enough for them to fall in love or get closer to one another or however viewers wanna interpret it (as we wait for tk8 to confirm wth happened between them in tk2).
Kazuya's secondary love language - I think I'm leaning mostly on Acts of Service. He probably isn't aware because he just thinks he's doing people a favor, but unconsciously, it's his way to show that he cares about the people he values. Like that man helped Bruce seek refuge after the plane crash and fake his death so he doesn't get caught by interpol. Hell he even granted Anna her request of being put in cryo sleep.
Doing acts of service to express his love for Jun was probably the most convenient and easiest way he could ever express how much he cares about her. Other love languages are just too explicit so he mostly tries to reason to himself that 'he's just doing Jun a favor' but it's probably him doing his best to get the message across that he truly values her so he's willing to do such things for her.
I can just imagine Jun having a bad day, and Kaz, being the man that he is who sucks with speaking comforting words and probably never initiated physical affection to anyone, gets up from his seat and goes "I'll show you some of the floras in the Mishima Estate garden since you love ecology so much." and then hopes she'll feel better. "I'll go get Lee to fix those papers you need for your work." or maybe even when they're sparring, Kazuya would always be the one to get her a bottle of water and a towel to wipe her sweat off with, since Jun is probably out of breath and needs more time to recover.
Jun's secondary love language - Words of Affirmation. Have ya'll just seen the sappiest ass shit she says to Kazuya in her tk8 intros and outros and even in Tekken Motion Picture like girlie has a helluva lot to say and she is so valid so let her speak 🗣️
Tekken Bloodline (tho non canon ugh) also kinda portrays Jun being comforting with words with the way she talks to Jin after his encounter with the bullies. Jun is seen as having some kind of profound sense of wisdom which enables her to empathize and feel people due to her being psychic and also spending most of her time during childhood getting in touch with nature. So I think with that, she always has the right words to say, and she knows exactly how to put into words how much she cares for a person. Plus she's an INFJ (lol).
Kazuya probably wouldn't have let her in his life had Jun not said the right words upon meeting him. Kazuya being in such a powerful position during TK2 had him surrounded with people who only spoke of deceit and lies to get to his good side and all that, and seeing how genuine Jun was with her words and how much it deeply soothed some of his inner wounds may have deepened the way he saw her. Thus, they became closer.
I do like to think that even though Jun is good with her words, she never really got the guts to outright say I love you to Kazuya 😩 I think she be too shy and bashful for that but argh with a little bit more of delulu to the ship, maybe I can convince myself that she did. Objectively speaking really, I don't think she could ever have said it during TK2.
Honorable mentions to Jun's secondary love language - Physical touch. Like idkkkkk, probably just me but I think I got it from somewhere that her tk8 outro literal translation kinda says she wants to snuggle up to Kazuya, and that is just so sweet 😩 im crying
Just a few two cents on them really :>>

i'm sorry but i HAVE to know about masa's relationship with his batty in laws. like bruce definitely hates his guts but i feel like he'd get on pretty well with both jason and tim?? but for like. vastly different reasons lmao. sorry i had a train of thought here but i just got sidetracked by the horrifying image of masa and dick co-parenting damian during bruce's jaunt through time and that has thoroughly derailed anything insightful i had to say. just thought i'd inflict that thought on you <3
Bruce is complicated tbh. Deep down He absolutely hates masa, and probably sees him as worse than the joker? At least the joker has insanity as a defense — like he’s clearly not well. no one’s ever accused masa of insanity. Bruce is also conflicted because he actually watched masa grow up techinally. masa was about fourteen when he joined the rouges gallery in Gotham, so Bruce (especially after he gets Jason) is always going to wonder if there was something he could’ve done to steer Masa out of crime.
(There was not!)
You’d think masa and Jason would get along but masa actually tried to eat him when Jason first became Robin. Whoops! In masa’s defense no one told him that the Robin change happened so he rolled up on a random Tuesday expecting to bother Dick only to find some other kid in Robin colors! Masa was like *head tilt* the fuck is you? And Jason got belligerent and accidentally implied that Dick was Gone instead of just out of town. Masa was like: oh. Well then! If my Robin can’t be Robin then no one can :) *chomp*
Batman was the only reason Jason survived the night lol. He showed and cleared the misunderstanding and Jason lived to see another day (mostly because masa healed him in a oops my bad move). He’s always gonna be wary of masa though and he still has some nasty scars. It gets better after his death though.
For Tim yeah they get along. Tim looks masa and goes : oh an enabler for all my crazy crazy plans :) and masa thinks the kid is the bees knees. Also free entertainment. If Dick wasn’t his Favorite it’d totally be Tim, and Dick is sorta simmering with jealousy.
Damian’s lucky masa is impossible to offended and thinks Dick in the Batman suit is sexy as hell. Otherwise the kid was verrry close to getting et. Masa is not parent material but Dick is overwhelmed enough to let him babysit a few times. Eventually they start getting along. Sometimes masa and Damian chill in the same room doing their own things like some sort of weird parallel play, or they spar.

One Batfam and Danny interaction that just came to me:
Danny, pointing fingers: How come that you can control those powers already?! It took me months not to clip through the walls!!
Whether or not said Batfam member really has as much control over their new, Danny-given powers as Danny at first believes is a different matter. XD It's about his outrage.
Hahaha lol.
I haven't gone into power shenanigans yet (that'll probably be an extra story somewhere down the line) but my thinking is that the Bats had a fairly easy time with their powers because 1) superpowers aren't that unusual in the DCU, so they have not only real live points of reference but people they can turn to with questions, and 2) they really only have to deal with 1 power whereas Danny was dealing with 3+ simultaneously.
Of course, I haven't shown it yet but like Danny, the Batfam's new powers are largely stuck in the "on" position if they aren't passive, and even then there's something of an adjustment period.
Dick floats if he's not mindful of it and now frequently hovers over his bed when he's sleeping, The Exorcist style. He kind of just lets himself do it when he's alone or in the company of other Bats or heroes, so it's not too much of an issue so long as he's not seen doing it in pubic as a civilian.
Jason is going to have a hard time getting needles through his skin now, so he better be careful about exposure to airborne chemical weapons. And also getting yearly vaccines.
Tim's astral projection doesn't necessarily mean that he's fully resting. The energy is more split between his astral form and his physical body, so the longer he spends in astral form, the less restful his sleep is. Also, the activation of his power depends on how tired he is when he goes to bed. If he's exhausted enough, he'll just sleep normally and not project at all.
Damian definitely melts a few things in his hands when he's not careful (canon seems to portray ecto-blasts as heat-based attacks, so I'm going to roll with that even though Danny is definitely more ice-affiliated).
Cass slips into the shadows a little too easily sometimes.
Steph sometimes ends up blocking herself with her own shields.
Barbara has to be mindful of what her new telekinesis grabs onto and from what direction it's coming from.
Kate is fortunate that her duplicates can't make duplicates, otherwise she'd have a harder time hiding it.
Duke definitely underestimates his own strength for a while after the abrupt buff. He may not have super-durability, which would enable him to punch through things or crush them without hurting himself, but he does keep accidentally pushing and pulling things too hard. Doors are tricky for him for a bit XD
Bruce regularly keeps blinking out of the visible spectrum, if not the entire detectable spectrum all together. Basically, his power has two settings: plain vanilla invisible (where he's just not detectable on a visible light spectrum), and Super Invisibility (where he just plain stops being detectable period). He can only maintain Super Invisibility for a few minutes continuously before it starts to wear him out (and you can bet that every time he uses it, Clark is sending him a "you good?" text or just straight up calling him to make sure he's okay XD). Of course, his power wants to be "on" all the time, so he has to be mindful of keeping himself within the visible spectrum, lest he just blip out of peoples' perception for a while.
And a note on Alfred's power: He's not going to "de-age" past his prime. I'm putting his age in CiM at around late 70's, early 80's. What his new power is doing is walking his physical body back towards the top of the "physical aptitude" curve, so he'll look like late 50's, early 60's instead of his actual age, but it won't go further than that. And most importantly, he'll feel like he's in his 50's again too :)
To note, when I say "Alfred is immortal now" I mostly mean that he doesn't age anymore. He can still be killed or fall ill, but time no longer wears on him like it used to (and really, as far as CiM is concerned, time was the only real threat to Alfred''s continued presence, so functionally, he is immortal now lol).
One thing that I do plan on writing later is that Jason and Duke spar a lot both for training and for fun because their powers kind of balance each other. Jason can take Duke's hits and Duke can wrestle Jason on fairly equal standing.
But we will be seeing Danny's reaction to the Batfam's swanky new powers fairly soon :)
