Thomas and Martha Wayne had twins Danny and Bruce. Danny was stolen from the hospital by a grieving Maddie after her child was still born.

The only one who knows is Maddie. Jack was held up in a villain attack on his way to the hospital. Maddie met him at the entrance with the bundle and just leaves with a manic look in her eye and a death grip on the baby.

The couple left town with the kids because they wanted a safer place to raise their kids... not because Maddie became extra paranoid. No not at all.

Bonus:

Phantom is the ghost of Maddie's still born child. He haunts danny because he knows maddie is his mom and wants to know what it would be like to be taken care of and grow to adulthood. They got fused when the portal accident happened. That's why he is ridiculously powerful from the get go. He's a fresh ghost who has been fused with a teen ghost.

This takes place in the same universe as my fic Mother of the storm and her star child.

A few years have passed and Danny is completely settled in and moved to bulhaven with dick. Eventually around the time he’s Turing 9 he insists that he wants to go out at night with dick. Dick is hesitant but Danny insist, pointing out how his abilities would make him the perfect recon detective. Dick can no longer argue when Danny beats both Damian and Cass the first day of training and he is out out in the field.

Danny hose out in his ghost form and picks the name phantom because it feels right and now nightwing patrols with a bird if his very own for the first time in a while. Danny is very good on patrols, he sticks close to dick often clinging to him and hiding behind him when dick is interacting with people. He’ll often turn invisible but it still doesn’t fell like enough to dick. He quickly released that he missed the cape and the layer of securing it added when Damien was his Robin.

So nightwing starts wearing a cape, and the people of his city starts coming up with all sorts of theories for the sudden change. The range from him practicing because he’s taking over the cowl to him hiding new gadgets. Very few have seen Danny and those who have are often not believed because, “nightwing had glowing eyes under his cape!” Is not very believable.

He doesn’t wear the cape all the time just when he has Danny, the cape is long the outside is black but the inside has a blue and black feather design so it looks like wings when he glides. It has a feature where it retracts in to a role on his back when he need more freedom of movement. And I’m addition to the cape he now has an extra loop hanging form his belt for Danny to grab on to as the hop rooftops. (Danny can will him self to weigh nothing so dick tends to pull him along as he floats any way)

As the news of dicks sudden costume adjustment is circulating he has to come to the watchtower with B for a mission. Danny tags along hiding in his cape like all the Robin had before him with Bruce. Meanwhile Bruce is totally not going all mushy over his grandson he is totally normal about this. All of the Leagers keep giving dick looks.

Until flash finally ask

Wally: so um nightwing what’s with the cape? I thought you hated them?

Dick*with a bright smile across his face*: it’s for my shadow!

Wally: your shadow? How is a cape ganna hide your shadow.

Dick: no not my actual shadow it’s to hide my bird.

Balance

Danny didn't hate the Justice League for never showing up to deal with the world ending things he dealt with. He's not been upset with them over this since he learned about overshadowing being a thing.

That is, he wasn't upset with them. Until he met Dan. Dan who had killed the Justice League. Dan who had destroyed the world. Dan who had told him about Justice League Dark. The secret magic division of the Justice League that apparently could have dealt with the bs Amity Park has been through since the portal opened.

They had the resources to avoid being overshadowed and they were, even just one of them, powerful enough to have taken down Fright Knight or Vlad or Pariah Dark. Instead they'd marked Amity a "no fly zone" and promptly ignored the town. Their reason? Danny was already taking care of it.

So years later, he's King of the Infinite Realms and being summoned by the Justice League. (in all his kingly regalia of course) He's being rather belligerent whenever one of the magic members start talking, but is rather friendly towards the others. When asked why he mentions Amity Park.

The JLD's reply? The Embodiment lord of Balance is taking care of that place.

Today I was thinking, why do God AUs always make Ranboo God of Memory, when his memory is in fact, absolutely dogshit. Like be so fr this is the guy who keeps a journal just detailing everything that happened to him because he can't remember it. And so another fic idea was born

Wen Ning is a kindergarten teacher and hobby gardener who has two impossible crushes that he’s trying to get over but just can’t seem to let go of, even knowing both men are married.

Lan Zhan is the sexy (and scary) father of one of Wen Ning’s students, little a-Yuan. He comes to the school fifteen minutes early every day and stands outside his car, waiting for pick-up. Wen Ning gets it! A-Yuan explained that he lives close to the school. It would probably be pretty frustrating, driving home from work and then not ten minutes later having to get up and drive to the school again. And being cooped up at your desk and then being cooped up in your car sounds awful! Of course Lan Zhan wants to stretch his legs while he waits for his son! Just. It’s. It’s a little distracting, glancing out the window and seeing him standing there, looking like that.

(Lan Zhan is actually hoping to catch a glimpse of a-Yuan’s cute teacher. The man is so big and so gentle, he’s wonderful with his students. A-Yuan absolutely adores him. He’s soft-spoken and a bit timid and it contrasts gorgeously with his broad shoulders and the layer of appealing softness that does nothing to hide the strength in his arms and back. Lan Zhan wants to bite him. His husband Wei Ying teases him endlessly for his crush.)

Wei Ying helps to run the city’s Public Garden and owns the plant nursery downtown, both of which Wen Ning visits frequently. He’s extremely knowledgeable and intimidatingly smart -- not just about gardening and horticulture but about seemingly every topic under the sun -- and he’s funny and so, so nice and Wen Ning wouldn’t ever presume to bother someone like that with his awkward self but every time they bump into each other at the public garden Wei Ying comes jogging over with his ponytail bouncing and dirt on his face, grinning his cheshire-cat grin, and Wen Ning can’t talk to him because he’s too pretty but Wei Ying never seems to mind.

(Wei Ying didn’t notice the similarities between his incessant pestering of Lan Zhan in highschool and his incessant pestering of the hot gardener until Jiang Cheng rudely put him on blast for it in the family group chat. Wei Ying might have been babbling for weeks by then about the sweet man with big dark eyes and the bigger biceps who oh-so-earnestly listened to Wei Ying’s rant about plants that attract native pollinators without interrupting and then immediately added a bunch to his plot at the local community garden and blushed very pink when Wei Ying pointed it out but -- look, Wei Ying is only human, and he can only handle so much pure concentrated adorable straight to the face before he needs to scream about it. Lan Zhan is amused, but mostly he’s using Wei Ying’s crush to fuel his possessiveness. As a result, they fuck like newlyweds.) 

Eventually Wen Ning figures out they’re married to each other and while he already knew his crush was hopeless now he starts to feel actually really bad about it. He vows to keep his distance until he can stop treating them both so shamelessly!

At the same time Wangxian figure out that they’re both crushing on the same guy and pretty much immediately decide that maybe they would be open to polyamory after all, but they have to proceed carefully. This is a-Yuan’s teacher, after all, and Wen Ning is so sweet -- they don’t want to make him feel uncomfortable!

Many a misunderstanding follow, with Wen Ning first thinking he’s being propositioned for an affair, and then just as quickly deciding that he’s being shameless and seeing what he wants to see., because obviously neither of them would ever want him. For one, they’re both way out of his league, and for two, they’re very much in love with each other. He’s the one deluding himself into -- what? Fantasizing about being a homewrecker? Honestly, Wen Ning ends up feeling… very not good about himself. He doesn’t like to think that he’s that kind of person.

It’s a-Yuan who finally ends up coming outright and asking Wen Ning if he’ll be a-Yuans third dad because his first two dads clearly want him to and a-Yuan also loves him a lot.

Suppose Clio, Muse of History, decided to pay Hob a visit.

He’s a teacher, and assuming he teaches at the University level, likely is required or at least expected to research, write, and get published (in the US, academia’s motto is “publish or perish”). Clio could inspire him by guiding him to other publications that support his perspective. Basically, a supernatural research partner.

Then I thought “What would Dream think of this?”and went straight to the Jealousy angle. I’m assuming physical intimacy is not REQUIRED for a muse to share her gifts, but is an option.

Clio assures Dream that she’s not trying to take over his temple (the New Inn), but confirms what Dream suspects: that she intends to make Hob’s bed her alter.

Cue Dream starting his own campaign of seduction because he DOES. NOT. SHARE.

Meanwhile, Hob’s just trying to get this damn article down to 12,000 words and Dream being a very effective distraction is not helping.

After a lengthy drawn out attempt to get him to confess the reason, he starts to admit he's got sort of like… prison syndrome. He believes he wouldn't be able to survive on Earth after years of just scavenging and living off Red Dwarf's storage, and feels he's lost whatever carefree spark it was that kept him afloat when he had no hope of reaching Earth before. This anxiety spirals and finally Rimmer is the one to talk him down of all people because Rimmer actually understands how that type of rejection feels.

Different lighting for whump because list are fun and I'm into the aesthetics:

The orange light of candles/a fireplace in a darkened room, its soft enough to not light a whole room and leave voids of nothingness.

It also can create contrast with temperature, think a warm glow compared to a cold room or freezing metal.

Smells, Candles often have certain scents, but more over when blown out they leave a stronger one behind.

Whereas with a real burning fire you smell, burning wood, which can linger around for long periods of time.

Creates some interesting moving silhouettes as well, which can add fear or comfort depending on what you are going for.

Moonlight, dramatic and used a lot? Yes, but also extremely important and fun to play with.

Almost always a white color, but for fantasy or for extra drama having a different color can add a lot of detail.

The lack of moonlight can also be very useful, despite knowing moon phases it still is often shocking for most to not see the moon.

It makes patterns through windows and can make sleeping for a character harder or even make them feel more trapped knowing that days are passing.

Party/Club lights, not used enough in writing in my opinion, so many colors and often so pretty, and dynamic.

Club lights that are purple or blue tinted make it harder to see facial details, the low lights add to a the ambience

Think of dark red lights in one of the rooms deep in the club, how it distorts all other colors and makes any dark spots seem even more like a void

Ballrooms have large chandeliers that have crystal like pieces that would scatter light around in odd shapes.

Car lights, ooOooO moving shiny, means there's other people.

They can blind people momentarily if they are coming head on which can make for some added drama.

When passing by the house they create lights across the ceiling.

Cars also include emergency vehicles the flashing colors can often on their own explain what is happening.

Dust can be seen in the air if you have a bit of light as well.

Sunlight and other lights can fade out certain materials making them look much older.

The way light warps and refracts though all sorts of things could be fun to play with, think holes in blankets or really expensive fine china.

Mirrors push light in weird places and could make for some pretty cool illusions.

And last but not least is devices or other objects that have a small circle light that come off of them, more than one and you got yourself some eyes.
